Last step part 1 (Leona Kingscholar x Wife Reader)
Genre: Romance
Continuation of Chapter 1 : First step (Leona Kingscholar x Wife Reader)
In the vast garden near the side of the castle, two kids, a boy and girl were running around and playing together, the vibe they were making up silly and hilarious scenarios, and making each other giggle with their playful banter. They were so wrapped up in their antics that everything happening around them seemed distant and far away.
Their energy and excitement were contagious, and their deep connection and friendship was evident to all who saw them. It was just a perfect day filled with joy, laughter, and fun.
The mother of the girl was sneaking off the kids' antics in secret as she kept on giggling to herself. Clearly she was voting them to be together due to the vibe around them. Should she discuss this with Ruggie, the boy's father?
As you were too immersed in observing the kids, a hand sneakily wrapped around your waist and pulled you into a tight embrace from behind. Before you could even scream for help, another hand was clasped on her mouth and her voice just came out as muffled. The rapid heartbeat and pounding chest felt overwhelming and disorienting, making it difficult to think clearly or speak. It was a frightening experience. Was this another assassination in killing you because you are one of the royal?
"Why are you hiding yourself here, dear?" That one particular familiar deep tone and yet calming was the one that reassured you that the person behind you meant no harm. Your body's stop squirming for escape in his grips and you lean your back on his hard toned chest. You raised your head to look up at him who was staring down back at you with his usual smug smile that charmed your heart.
Leona noticed that you would not let out any scream as you know it just him, slowly release his hand on top of your mouth and gingerly stroking your cheek before placing a kiss on your forehead. A smile of delight forms on your face as you love the affection he gives you and silently want more of it.
The marital relationship between you both had progressed drastically after the first step you took. Turns out, both of you actually have feelings for each other but did not know how to show it and now let's just say you and Leona were very affectionate even in public.
"I'm just watching our daughter. The two of them might even fall in love of they spend more time with each other"
"You mean that little bastard of Ruggie?"
"Hey, don't say that. He might be our son-in-law before you know it" Leona was giving the boy his aggressive glare as if he wanted to punish the boy for approaching his beloved cute daughter.
"No, my daughter will not get married. She only needs a man who is her father. I should punish Ruggie for bringing that brat"
"Leona don't. Ruggie and his son have done nothing wrong and I will bless their relationship" You caressed Leona's arms to calm him down and divert his gaze from the kids towards you by holding his cheek. That is enough to make his anger decreased as he melt with your touch and affection.
"Alright, let's not focus on this. The future is unpredictable. Instead, you can focus on the current moment like spending more time with your husband before his expedition" He snuggled closer to her as he rubbed his cheek into her palm.
Although both couples would prefer to indulge themself in their newfound happiness, they need to put it aside for a while as their country was hit with heavy drought. In the first place, their country did not have very good land as plants would rarely grow and it was very hard to find any sources of water.
They push everything bad to the unfortunate second prince while the firstborn is raised in glory. It was very unfair and unfortunate but second on the throne barely could do anything except abide by everything. The only way to overcome this situation this time was unluckily to ask for His Majesty, Farena's help. Leona's only brother.
"Make sure you come back safe. The journey is long and tough but please come back as soon as you can. We will miss you dearly, Leona."
"I did not even think to spend a lot of time in that place. My place is beside you and our daughter only. You guys are the only ones for me, dear. I love both of you so much."
"We love you too, my husband. Safe journey"
With a heavy heart, Leona went ahead with his visit to his brother's kingdom and everyone else could only wait in anticipation for the benefit of his journey there. It should take only about a week for Leona to return but there was no news of him yet. Therefore, everyone could just wait and wait until it was already one month of a sleepless night. In the early morning, a royal carriage came into Leona's estate.
As you cannot wait any more, you grabbed your outerwear and eagerly ran down towards the carriage from your shared chamber. After a month, your husband is finally back. You would shower him with kisses and hugs and even if he got annoyed because of it you would never stop. It had been a long wait. However, no new delightful news greets you. No Leona came to greet you except for his corpse. Instead of victory, he returned back as a kingdom betrayer. He had killed Farena, Sunset Savana's king.

I like to take long showers, and sometimes I sing in them. I can only imagine how Leona and the rest of Savanaclaw would feel (along with Grim) during book 3. Due to this, my main MC ALSO likes to take long showers.
Author's note: This did NOT turn out like the crack I wanted it to be.

"Herbivore..." Leona knocked on the door to the bathroom within his room, cutting off the lovely voice singing a song he knew damn well no one in all of Twisted Wonderland would be familiar with.
She'd been in there for an hour... Unfortunately, Leona's tone of voice, and the sound of the door being knocked on so harshly shocked the prefect out of her groove.
"FUCKING WHAT!?" She snapped at him before placing a hand over where her heart was, trying to get her breathing under control.
Leona's ears pinned back at the shrillness in her voice, "It's been an hour..."
He'd already taken his shower. The prefect had spent most of the day in the pool instead of going to class.
She certainly did everything in her power to sit out during morning practice... Not that he let her. Reign was very pissy about it afterwards.
"You need to come out now."
"You took your shower already, and you're not paying a single water bill!" Reign nipped, "Get off my ass!"
She wanted to take her shower in peace! Especially after having been in the pool all damn day, and having wasted her energy in the morning!
Leona could understand wanting to decompress in the shower.... But he needed to go to sleep.
It wouldn't be hard to sleep through her singing. It wasn't bad, as stated before.
He just... Her being here...
And remembering what she said to him before, during, and after he overblotted...
How she interacted with him after all that.
Reign wasn't nearly as mean as the first time they met.
It was like... After she learned about him, she felt less threatened by his presence...
She didn't feel the need to defend herself from him, nor did she view him as some irritating rich guy who couldn't do a thing himself.
No... She showed him kindness...
Leona knew he had yet to earn her respect. He could tell she wasn't the type to bow her head so easily.
He... Kinda liked that..
Even after seeing what he was capable of, she didn't fear him.
He still thought of her as airheaded, and she certainly admitted to being just that, but when Leona told Reign why he saw her as airheaded, she could only laugh and tell him that was something she didn't have to think about.
"Why should I be afraid of a man who's just as hurt as I am?" She asked, "Just because of his ability to destroy things? Anyone can destroy. Might not be the same way you do, but there are worse things to be afraid of."
What an odd girl she was...
After that, Leona wasn't sure what to do with her.
Of course when Jack brought her over, he didn't want her to stay! He could hardly think around this girl!
He couldn't figure her out and it was just so... Bothering to him! What was with her mentality!? How could she think this way if she was... If she was like him in a way...
She didn't say she was exactly like him, he remembered.
She had told him she understood his pain. She might not have experienced it the same way, but she knew how he felt.
"Please just come out of the shower.." He practically begged at this point.
Reign let out a small sigh before turning off the water and coming out of there.
He was so pushy...
She quickly dried off and got dressed in her pajamas, wearing basketball shorts and a hoodie.
Leaving the bathroom, she met Leona's gaze.
He looked like he'd been thinking a lot...
"Are you okay...?" She tilted her head at him.
"I'm fine... Let's just get to bed.." He said gruffly, moving to his bed.
Reign headed to the small chair in his room, curling up in its green cushions comfortably under her blanket.
Seeing her do this, for the second night in a row, Leona could only sigh.
He sort of wanted her to sleep in his bed with him... But he wouldn't wanna seem off putting with that..
She was still cautious, especially after being revealed as a woman during their battle...
Poor Leona got a face full of boob and even in his overblotted state, he couldn't help but pull back in embarrassment.
Reign seemed to have been just as shocked as he was, seeing how they both stood and stared at each other for a while.
Everyone saw it happen as well...
Oh how Leona wished he could forget that...
Though he wanted to remember as well... That sweet scent of coco butter meshed with just a hint of perfume. Not too hard on his nose...
He wanted to be closer to her... But he'd have to take it slow if he wanted her to trust him enough to even consider coming so close....

SO BACKSTORY
Mailo is sent back to his world. He and Leona were dating, and Floyd has had a mad crush on him since book 3 (Mailo swam like a merperson and it was pretty or something, that and the water highlighted his markings more)
Leona and Floyd went to his world to bring him back and they found him.
My apologies if this is too Mary-sue, I just need that one character where everyone has to love them but it's only these two dumbasses.

✧ Leona, as arrogant and prideful as he is, would've definitely been taken aback. He hadn't thought that he would ever fall for someone.
✧ Star fell first but Leona, for sure, fell harder! Something as small as a small smile from Star can send Leona's heart into a frenzy. He'd start to scoff and look away from their direction but the burning feeling in his cheeks and the tips of his ear are evident.
✧ Leona was the first to proclaim his feelings. He hadn't thought of doing so until he started to see other students getting close to Star. Fearing the worst, and losing them to those who he deems are inferior to him is enough to make Leona's envy eat at him. He couldn't possibly stand losing!
Leona grimaced, not caring and never caring to cover up his expression. His eyes were burning holes into the person currently speaking to Star. This is annoying..why is he getting so worked up over this?
He sighed, a low and soft growl as he continued to glare at the scene before him. Deciding he had enough, Leona walked towards Star, holding onto their wrist with a firm yet gentle grasp, tugging them along with him as he walked off. "I need you for a moment." Star tilted their head at his action, but ultimately let him lead them away, leaving the other student to stand there dumbfounded.
"Leona? What are..." Star started, but shook their head slightly before continuing, "Where are we going-" Leona stopped abruptly, turning around to face them, "Listen. I.."
Leona felt his heart pounding wildly in his chest, his brain was running at a thousand miles per second as he stared at Star's confused expression. He groaned, exasperated at the situation before he brought both of Star's hands up to his face.
"I love you."
He spoke with a softness that shocked Star. Causing them to widened their eyes and feel their blood rushing to their cheeks at the sudden confession. Leona pursed his lips into a thin line, "and..I can't take it..seeing other people...you know..?" Leona mentally cursed at himself for fumbling his words.
He shook his head to clear all the thoughts clouding his ability to form a coherent sentence.
"Look. I..I just can't lose you, alright?"
✧ No matter how long Star and Leona have been together, Leona still can't stumbling over his words whenever he's around Star. He tries so hard to keep a nonchalant and snarky persona, but once Star so much as waves at him and calls him, he falls apart and goes quiet instantly.
✧ Leona only treats Star with so much softness and gentleness. He would do anything to make sure that they are safe and happy. And if making Star happy means to attend lessons instead of slacking off? Well, so be it!
✧ Star spends most of their time with Leona's head on their lap. They will card their fingers through his hair as he sleeps. Leona finds it comforting whenever Star plays with his hair, it helps him to fall asleep faster than the already does.
✧ He gets insecure whenever he is compared to his siblings. Leona always comes to Star and buries his head into their shoulder with his hands wrapped tightly around their waist, holding them close to him as he tries to get rid of all the insecure thoughts. With Star humming a soft tune while soothing him and patting his back, whispering sweet words of affirmation; "You're perfect, Leona."
✧ Leona is only soft for Star. He smiles so softly whenever he sees them. He enjoys picking Star up and doing one spin as the both of them laugh before putting them down on their feet to give them a quick peck on the forehead.
