THIS DAY IN GAY HISTORY

c.15 AD – John the Evangelist. The Gospel of John makes several references to "the disciple Jesus loved", and to "the Beloved Disciple", including references to special priviliges that Jesus gave to this relationship, not granted to other disciples. This is taken by some Biblical scholars as evidence that Jesus had a relationship with this disciple which was at least emotionally intimate, and possibly sexual. In medieval Northern Europe, there was even a long-standing tradition that he and Christ were the bridal couple at the Cana Wedding Feast.
It is not clear whether this "Beloved Disciple" was John himself (although it could have been), or someone else possibly Lazarus.
In any event, there are suggestions from elsewhere that John may have had a same-sex relationship with another, his scribe Prochorus, after Christ's death. Prochorus later became bishop of Nicomedia, and in turn, formed a fresh relationship of his own with a younger man, Irenaeus.

1846 – Ezra Allen Miner, more popularly known as Bill Miner, was an American bandit, originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, who served several prison terms for stagecoach robbery (d.1913). Known for his unusual politeness while committing robberies, he was widely nicknamed the Grey Fox, Gentleman Robber or the Gentleman Bandit. He is reputed to have been the originator of the phrase "Hands up!" Legend has it that Bill Miner admonished his cohorts to fire their guns when in danger of capture but "do not kill a man".
Miner was born Ezra Allen Miner in Vevay Township, near Onondaga, Ingham County, Michigan. He never legally changed his first name, but regarded William Allen Miner as his true name throughout most of his life. He was arrested for the first time in 1866 in San Joaquin County, California and served time there. He then formed a partnership with Bill Leroy to rob a stagecoach. Leroy was caught and lynched, but Miner escaped. He was later caught for another robbery in Tuolumne County, California and was released from San Quentin in 1901.
After his third prison term, Miner moved to British Columbia in Canada, where he adopted the pseudonym George Edwards and is believed to have staged British Columbia's first-ever train robbery on September 10, 1904 at Silverdale about 35 kilometres (22 mi) east of Vancouver, just west of Mission City.
Miner was eventually caught after a botched payroll train robbery near Kamloops at Monte Creek (then known as "Ducks"). Choosing the wrong car, they managed only to rob $15 plus a bottle of kidney pills that Miner picked up off of a shelf. Miner and his two accomplices, Tom "Shorty" Dunn and Louis Colquhoun, were located near Douglas Lake, British Columbia after an extensive manhunt. A posse surrounded them while they were lunching in the woods. Miner presented himself as George Edwards and claimed that he and his cohorts were prospectors. The officer in charge of the posse suspected he had encountered the nefarious train-robbing gang and challenged the claim, putting them under arrest.
Dunn attempted to fire at the police and was shot in the leg. He gave up quickly after being wounded. Colquhoun was disarmed by an officer standing nearby and Miner never drew his weapon. Miner's arrest and subsequent trial in Kamloops caused a media spectacle. Apparently the most damning evidence against him was the bottle of kidney pills that Miner had picked up during the Ducks robbery. Upon his conviction, he, Dunn and Colquhoun were transported by train to the provincial penitentiary in New Westminster. By that time, Miner's celebrity status had risen to the point that the tracks were reputedly lined with throngs of supporters, many of whom expressed satisfaction with the fact that someone had taken the very unpopular CPR to task.
While serving time in the B.C. Penitentiary, Miner escaped in 1907 and was never recaptured in Canada. He moved back to the United States, becoming once again involved in robberies in the South at Gainesville in 1909. There, he served more prison time, and escaped twice.
He died in the prison farm at Milledgeville, Georgia, of gastritis, contracted from drinking brackish water during his previous escape attempt.Researchers Mark Dugan and and John Boessenecker contend that Miner was the only known homosexual outlaw in the American "Wild West." In his younger days, "Miner, who had a slender, girlish figure, no doubt was a target for sex-starved older and stronger convicts." Later, they claim, he lured young men into crime and preyed on them sexually. Whatever Miner's sexual preference, the only evidence of Miner's homosexuality surfaced in 1903 when the Pinkerton Detective Agency stated that Miner "is said to be a sodomist and may have a boy with him."

1932 – On this date Fritz "Fred" Klein the Austrian-born American sex researcher, psychiatrist and pioneering Bisexual rights activist was born (d.2006). He's best known as the inventor of the Klein Sexual Orientation Grid. He was also a pioneering bisexual rights activist, who was an important figure in the modern LGBT rights movement.
As a self-identified bisexual, Klein was surprised at the lack of literature on his sexuality in the New York Public Library in 1974. He was inspired to place an advertisement in a New York City alternative newspaper the Village Voice and founded a ground-breaking social and support group for the Bisexual Community called Bisexual Forum.
He devised the Klein Sexual Orientation Grid, a multi-dimensional system for describing complex sexual orientation, similar to the "zero-to-six" scale Kinsey scale used by Alfred Kinsey, but measuring seven different vectors of sexual orientation and identity (sexual attractions, sexual behavior, sexual fantasies, emotional preference, social preference, lifestyle and self-identification) separately, as they relate person's past, present and ideal future.
Klein published The Bisexual Option: A Concept of One Hundred Percent Intimacy in 1978, based on his research, the world's first real psychological study of bisexuality. He also co-authored Man, His Body, His Sex in 1978, and published Bisexualities: Theory and Research in 1986 and Bisexual and Gay Husbands: Their Stories, Their Words in 2001. He published a novel, Life, Sex and the Pursuit of Happiness in 2005.

1973 – Wilson Cruz (born Wilson Echevarría) is an American actor known for playing Rickie Vasquez on My So-Called Life and the recurring characters of Junito on Noah's Arcand Dr. Hugh Culber on Star Trek: Discovery. As an openly gay person of Puerto Rican ancestry, he has served as an advocate for gay youth, especially gay youth of color.
Wilson Cruz was born in Brooklyn, New York to parents of Puerto Rican descent. His family eventually moved to Rialto, California where he attended Eisenhower High School, graduating in 1991. At age 19, Cruz came out to his parents as gay, first to his mother and then his father. While his mother was initially hurt and shocked, she eventually accepted the news. His father, however, threw him out of the house, and Cruz spent the next few months living in his car and at the homes of friends. He later reconciled with his father.
After coming out to his parents, Cruz went to Hollywood to seek work as an actor, intending to be open about his sexuality from the beginning of his career. In 1994 he was cast as Enrique "Rickie" Vasquez, a troubled gay teen, in the short-lived critically acclaimed cult classic TV series My So-Called Life. In one episode (entitled "So-Called Angels") drawn from Cruz's own life, Rickie comes out to his family, who throw him out of the house.
Cruz works with and advocates on behalf of LGBT youth, especially youth of color. He has volunteered his time as host for the Youth Zone, an online community at Gay.com for LGBT youth. He was the Grand Marshal of the 1998 West Hollywood Gay Pride parade and the 2005 Chicago Pride Parade. In 2008, he was the keynote speaker at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Lavender Graduation and Rainbow Banquet honoring graduating LGBT students.
Cruz joined the board of directors of GLAAD in 1997 in order to assist the organization through a leadership transition, and joined the staff of GLAAD in 2012 as a National Spokesperson and Strategic Giving Officer.

Rowland in his army days
1990 – Died: Chuck Rowland (b.1917) was a founding member of the Mattachine Society. He was active with ONE Inc. and founded the short-lived Church of One Brotherhood. Upon retiring from twenty years of teaching in 1982, Rowland founded Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles.
Chuck Rowland was born and grew up in tiny Gary, South Dakota. He recognized he was homosexual at an early age, and after reading a sympathetic series of articles in a pulp magazine, concluded that, if millions like him existed, they could be mobilized. At the University of Minnesota in the late 1930s, he was active on campus in support of the loyalists of Spain and other causes. While in grad school during 1939–40 he returned to Gary as a substitute for the spring term. On a weekend visit to Minneapolis, he met Bob Hull, a U of M undergraduate. The two had a brief romance, lived together, and became lifelong friends.
In 1942, Rowland was drafted into the army. Due to a severe injury, he stayed stateside during the war. While enlisted, Rowland became a charter member of the American Veterans Committee, a liberal alternative to the American Legion. After discharge in March 1946, he showed his talent as an AVC organizer, but his active support for veterans’ bonus legislation, which the group disparaged as “handouts,” led to his being “canned” by the AVC by 1947.
While in the AVC, Rowland noted that those he knew to be communists were some of AVC’s best organizers. “I was just carried along with this feeling of liberalism and the horror of the [anti-communist] reaction that was setting in,” he said, “and my feeling was that we had to move farther and farther to the left, as a result of which I got into the Communist Party.” Rowland returned to Minneapolis and headed the CP’s Midwest youth division.* (His value as an organizer trumped any chance of being expelled under the party’s unwritten anti-gay policy.) Rowland recruited Hull into the party, and the two contemplated Rowland’s childhood dream of organizing homosexuals.
In 1948, he quit the CP and move to Los Angeles, followed by Hull. There, at a labor school, the two met a teacher, Harry Hay, who also had done some thinking about a homosexual organization.
Harry Hay was developing a blueprint for a homophile support group, but before he could show it to them, Rowland and Hull moved to Mexico in the summer of 1950, intending to relocate permanently to avoid anti-Communist witch-hunts. They returned by fall, however, and received Hay’s completed prospectus, which they eagerly shared with Hull’s new boyfriend, Dale Jennings. The three met with Hay and his lover Rudi Gernreich on Armistice Day 1950, and eventually formed the (necessarily) secretive Mattachine Society and its public nonprofit, Mattachine Foundation.
Tumblr media
Mattachine members clockwise from top: Chuck Rowland, Konrad Stevens, unknown, Bob Hull, Jim Gruber
Rowland immersed himself in ONE Inc., writing for its magazine and directing its social services division. In 1954 he proposed that ONE open a guidance center staffed with gay counselors to mentor the waifs who found themselves alone in a new city. The project foundered, but Rowland nevertheless reported to ONE that in 1955 his division provided job placement and/or vocational counseling for nearly 100 people.
The early 60s saw Rowland involved in a possible FBI blacklisting (as both Red and gay), a failed business partnership, a dependence on intoxicants, mounting debt, and eviction. Finally, following the tragic suicide of his friend Bob Hull in May of 1962, Rowland returned to the Midwest. That summer he was hired as a credentialed high school teacher in Iowa. Obtaining his master’s degree in 1967, he chaired the theater arts department at a Minnesota college.
Upon retiring in 1982, Rowland returned to Los Angeles from his “exile,” as he put it, while admitting to “some worthy accomplishments” and meaningful relationships. In late 1982, with Jim Kepner and ex-Mattachino Martin Block, Rowland founded Celebration Theatre, billed as “the only theatre in Los Angeles dedicated exclusively to productions of gay and lesbian plays.” Kepner hosted its debut in the late spring of 1983, in his National Gay Archives.
Having been hospitalized in March 1090 with prostate cancer that proved to be terminal, Rowland “moved to Duluth where a former student fixed up a handsome apartment overlooking the lake,” according to a Kepner-penned obituary. “He spent five happy months among students and relatives….” Chuck Rowland died December 27, 1990.

Cling Fast: Chapter Ten
By Losyark
The Sandman (Netflix with some sprinkling of comics canon, and Gaiman Cinematic-Literary Universe canon) Dreamling (Hob Gadling x Dream of the Endless | Morpheus) Unfinished (11 Chapters) PG-13 (for now) Unbeta’d
Today is the day that Hob drowns, and on the whole he's feeling pretty sanguine about it.
“We can’t know what the real Robert Gadlen the Third thought about his neighbors accusing him of witchcraft, breaking into his house, and dragging him out to the duck pond in a lynch mob, but they probably weren’t being as gentle as Georgie and Samir here,” Hob says up into the camera, which Melina has pointed down at his face.
Georgie and Samir each have one of his arms and one of his legs in a cradle carry, which they practiced before cameras started rolling. They’re walking him towards the pond in question, Melina following along in their wake with her steadicam rig. It’s actually kind of relaxing, being hauled around like a baby, Hob thinks.
The journey toward the water today is very different from last time, if nothing else, which is helping him keep the two instances separate in his mind. The panic that Hob was afraid he’d be plagued with in recreating what was arguably the single worst death he's ever experienced hasn’t appeared. He’s decided he's going to roll with it.
It’s a long walk across the park from the original kitchen garden door to the pond itself. Luckily, there’s more than enough dialogue to fill it.
“Gadlen was in his seventies by then,” Hob continues. “We don’t have any portraits of him from after the death of his son, but local reports claim that the man had failed to age a single day. Unlikely. But if you’re as roguishly handsome as he was...” here he winks at the camera, a suggestion from Shami that Hob had found too fantastically on-the-nose to resist. “Maybe he really did sell his soul to the devil to stay that way. The registry of the magistrate notes that there was howling at all hours from the House. The servants who fled the manor, one at a time over the decades, tell of their master spitting curses at the gods, and going mad with drink and grief. All pretty reasonable for a bloke who’s lost everyone he’s ever loved, if you ask me. No witchcraft required.”
Glenn, who’s been trailing along waiting for his cue, steps into frame. Today he’s dressed in the uniform of a high-ranking Elizabethan servant, and Melina stops walking and swings the camera up to for a medium-wide on his face. In the background, Georgie and Samir keep trudging along with their burden. Hob lets his head flop back, enjoying the ride now that he’s managed to make it through his bit without a flub.
“It’s the steward’s account of those dark years, and of this night in particular, that are of the most interest to historians,” Glenn says, picking up the narrative. “His name was Edward Fletcher, and he was more-or-less loyal to Gadlen for the entire time he served in his household. It was only after Gadlen spiraled that Fletcher started to lighten the estate’s purses to weigh down his own. It was also Fletcher who called down the witch-hunters.. In a surviving transcript of a confession Fletcher later made on his deathbed, he says…”
Glenn pauses here to unfold a prop letter, and reads it aloud:
“I didst wrong piteous Gadlen, and with a dormouse’s valor it was done.  Yet I shall gage to mine own last breath--which this well may be--that what confessions I have made previously I do not recant. That piteous knight was in truth untouch'd by death. Neith'r age, nor injury, nor the ov'rindulgence of drink didst settle upon his shoulders. Three score years of snow melted in his hair and left no whiteness behind. Many a sorrowful evening I did see my Master, sick with grief, fall upon his sword. And in the morning, I did see him rise from his death bed, a weeping Lazarus. Fearing for mine own immortal soul should I stay and abet such a nightmare creature, I could not remain in yond house."
Glenn folds up the letter and looks wryly over his shoulder at where Hob is–very slowly–being dragged to his death, before turning back to the camera.
“Fletcher may have felt guilty for betraying Gadlen, but he clearly had no problems robbing the dying man blind,” Glenn says, as if imparting a secret. “That fateful night, Fletcher let the angry mob in through the kitchen entrance, and then disappeared into the shadows with a pony-cart full of anything and everything that wasn’t nailed down. Portraits, tapestries, clothing, jewels, candlesticks, cash, and crucially–and luckily for us scholars in the twenty-first century–the contents of Robert Gadlen’s entire study.” Glenn pauses for a dramatic beat. “One wonders if he even stayed to watch the final, fatal result of his letter to the witch-hunters. He doesn’t seem like the type to have the stomach for it.”
Hob and his discount witch-hunters reach the banks of the pond just as Glenn finishes his final line. Glenn, as if to shame Fletcher and his cowardice, turns his back to the camera, and his face to the pond.
Too softly for Hob’s mic to pick up, Georgie counts “One, two, three–” He and Samir swing Hob back and forth, once, twice, and…!
Lower him to the ground.
“Cut!” Harinder calls.
Samir helps Hob to his feet, and wardrobe bustles over to make sure that the seat of his nightshirt hasn’t stained in the grass.
“I love the traveling shot, but I’d like a few in pieces to give us some options,” Harinder says, flipping through his binder of script revisions and storyboards, Celia hovering over his shoulder. “Let’s start with Bob, and while we’re doing Glenn, he can get into his wetsuit. That work for you Doc Bob?”
Hob gives him a thumbs up, and spends another half hour being dangled by his elbows and knees by two frankly very fit young men. Once he’s got feeling back in his limbs, Hob takes himself to get suited up, and tries not to think too hard about the fact that he’s not freaking out about the fact that he’s about to get shoved into the same lake he died in.
“Yoo-hoo,” Harriet calls from outside the wardrobe trailer. “Everybody decent?”
The wardrobe assistant, not the one with the honey-amber eyes, someone else, finishes zipping up the back of Hob’s suit and calls back, “Regrettably!”
Harriet laughs and opens the door and sticks her head in.  She whistles appreciatively. “That’s certainly a look.”
Hob, with his feet bare and his nightshirt pooled on the floor around his feet, wriggling to get the wetsuit laying properly, laughs in agreement. He’s too old to feel anything at all like shame in his body. It’s a good body. It’s loved, it’s eaten well, it’s been abused but bounced back. It is even now sword-strong and fit. It keeps him warm, keeps him here, and most crucially, it’s the body that made Morpheus orgasm so hard last night that his eyes literally whited out.
Still, it is deeply weird to be standing in front of everyone in what is essentially the absolute nude, only neoprene covered. He is extremely thankful that he’ll be doing his little swim with the thick nightshirt on overtop. He squirms into the shirt now, thanks the assistant, slips on some sandals, and joins Harriet on the gravel drive.
“Did Harinder send you to fetch me?”
“No,” Harriet says. “But I figured you’d maybe want to take a few minutes to check in?”
Hob is extremely pleased that Morpheus basically tricked Hob into confiding in this woman. She is a gem.
“I’m surprisingly okay?” Together, they make their way back into the park, crossing toward the pond at a leisurely pace. Hob reckons they must look a little silly to the rubberneckers gathered outside of the gates today: a woman in an old fashioned dress and a man in his nightclothes, taking a stroll in the sunshine. “I don’t know what it is, but it’s not bothering me. Maybe it’s that we're filming it in daylight, or that no one is screaming, or that they haven't asked me to struggle, or that everyone's so helpful and they've planned the stunt so meticulously, or the fact that I absolutely had not been wearing skintight rubber that night and it keeps grounding me in my body, or–”
“Or that you had a spectacular shag last night?”
Hob skids to a stop, staring down at his companion. “Why, Doctor Harriet Butler,” Hob says, clutching imaginary pearls. “What are you insinuating?”
“I’m not insinuating a thing,” Harriet says, chivvying them along. “I’m stating it outright.”
“There is now way you can possibly know what I got up to last night,” Hob starts, but Harriet’s gentle laughter cuts him off.
“Aside from the fact that you have been floating around all day in a post-coital good mood, I have eyes, Hob Gadling.” She points to the half dozen people idling around the edge of the pond, where the crew is setting up the shot of Hob being pitched into the water.
There, at the edge of crowd, is Morpheus. He’s in a pair of beat-up looking blue-jeans, an oversized v-neck teeshirt, and a brown bomber jacket that has STUNT TEAM embroidered on the back of it in obnoxious lime green. And on his neck is the most obscenely vivid hickey Hob has ever seen in his life.
Morpheus didn’t need to leave that there. Hob had no marks from their romp the night before. Everything had happened in the Dreaming, while his Waking body lay in bed and had a frankly embarrassing series of wet dreams. Hob had stepped into the shower with his pajama bottoms still on to unglue himself enough to strip without an unintentional brazilian that morning.
Morpheus had chosen to allow the marks to appear on his corporeal body. He wanted everyone to see how Hob’s mouth had savaged him, wanted them to imagine who might have done that to him, and where else there may be tantalizing marks and bruises.
He knows exactly what he's doing, the possessive little tart.
Hob feels his face flush up.
Harriet elbows him knowingly.
"That's the skinniest damned stuntie I've ever seen," Glenn says with a low whistle, ambling up to join them.
"I hope he's not the one who has to yank back up," Hob says, knowing for a fact that even at this distance, Morpheus will be able to hear him. “I’m more likely to drag him under.”
Morpheus detaches from the rest of the stunt team and heads in their direction.
“Uh oh, he saw you giving him the eyes, Harri,” Glenn chuckles. “Though I don’t know what kind of a chance you have. Looks like someone’s already tried to eat him alive.”
Hob grumbles, tugging on his ear. Morpheus walks right up to him, cups his jaw in his hands, and kisses Hob wet and open-mouthed without so much as a ‘may I?’
Hmph.
Possessive and selfish indeed.
Hob has no complaints though. And also absolutely no problems with being that obnoxious PDA couple, if that's how Morpheus wants things to go. He could get used to having his lover's tongue in his mouth before they exchange their first pleasantries of the day.
“Hello, Hob,” Morpheus says, when he lets Hob up for air.
“Hello, dearheart,” Hob says back. “Don’t ruin my makeup before they ruin my makeup by chucking me in the water.”
Morpheus rolls his eyes, but steps back to turn his attention to the two mortals in their presence. Harriet looks smug. Glenn looks like someone slapped him between the eyes with a day-old mackerel.
"Duckie, you remember Harriet,” Hob says graciously, trying to subtly wipe at the moisture in the corner of his lips.
“A pleasure to be introduced properly,” Morpheus intones, accepting her offered hand and cupping it meaningfully between both of her. Some sort of understanding and forgiveness passes in their glance.
"And this is Glenn, one of the other presenters. Glenn, this is Morph, my boyfriend."
Glenn offers his hand as well. Morpheus gives him a perfunctory shake, not as invested in impressing the human who doesn't know who he is, but respectful of Hob's professional connections.
Glenn is a little less respectful, of course. "This is the flowers and Shakespeare plonker?"
"One and the same," Hob says cheerfully, wrapping his arm around Morpheus' waist and smacking a kiss off of Morpheus' temple.
"Come," Morpheus says. "You're needed for stunt rehearsal."
"As my liege commands," Hob says, and waves over his shoulder at Harriet and Glenn as they wander off.
"I would command a great many things of you," Morpheus whispers into his ear with a thick smolder.
"Later," Hob promises. "Thank you for being here. I know I didn't ask, and maybe I should have, but it makes me feel a thousand times better knowing you're right here on the shore to look after me if something goes wrong.
“The waking nightmares will not dare to plague you ever again,” Morpheus intones gravely. "I have unmade them."
Hob frowns. "That seems a bit mean. They were only doing their job. It's totally natural that I should have nightmares about it."
"Your heart is so generous, mine own," Morpheus says, and there's warmth and awe in his voice that Hob never thought he'd hear there. Not with Morpephus looking at him, at any rate. "But no, I learned my lesson with Gault. I thanked them for their attentive service, and then allowed them to request their next assignments and forms."
"Oh good," he sighs, and means it.
They fetch up against the group of stunties, and Harinder is soon stuck in as well, explaining angles and workplace safety. Before he knows it, Morpheus has bled out of the group like too little tea in too much water. Nobody even realizes he's gone.
Hob's heart does a little jolt—he hasn't abandoned you, Hobsie, he hasn't run away again, get a grip—when he registers that Morpheus isn't there. But a quick glance around, and Hob finds him on the far side of the pond, still in his mortal costume, but with Matthew on the ground next to him.
"So Doc Bob, what's going to happen is this," Harinder says at last, leading him to the little metal pier the crew has constructed into the pond. Of course, Georgie and Samir could throw him from the bank, but it’s too shallow that close to the shore, and Hob risks whacking into something. Even if bashing his head on a hidden rock wouldn't kill him, it would hurt. Besides, it would ruin the take.
Earlier that day, the stunt team divers had cleared a little spot a bit further out of rocks and rusted bicycles instead, right around where Hob is meant to land. Hob has half a mind to tell them to go back and search for the necklace he’d been wearing the night of the witch trial, but that might skirt a bit too close to knowing things he shouldn’t.
Instead he drops the tidbit in Harriet’s ear, and she makes an offhand comment about maybe getting some metal detectors at the bottom of the pond if they have time. You know, just for something to do while the divers are still on the clock, and Hob is rehearsing how the throw will go with Georgie and Samir one last time.
"Might make for a good segment," she says, and Harinder’s eyes light up with the possibilities.
The problem with getting wet on camera, of course, is that you can really only do it once.
So while the all the preparation and caution leading up to the big event is drawn out and monumentous, before he knows it, Harinder is shouting "One —two—action—three!" and Hob is sailing through the air and landing with a massive, flailing splash.
He surfaces laughing, whips his head off his forehead, and throws his arms in the air while he treads water to the celebratory whoops of the whole crew.
"Okay, okay, still rolling!" Harinder shouts over the noise. "You good to move on, Doc Bob?"
Hob shoots him a thumbs up.
"Great, come in closer, where you can stand, and we'll get your last few lines so you can go get warm. Chop chop, mate!"
*
Morpheus' get up comes with a fake ID badge, which allows him access to all parts of the set he shouldn't be in. Including the trailer that Hob's borrowing to shower off the chill and the stink of duckweed.
"I am proud of you," Morpheus says, slipping into the spray behind Hob.
Hob leans back against his chest and says, "Transpo leaves in an hour and I want to dry my hair. Make it quick, love."
So commanded, Morpheus obeys, much to Hob's satisfaction.
Exactly an hour later, Hob saunters to the transpo van in his street clothes, ready to head home and thinking vague thoughts about coercing Harriet and Glenn into getting out at The New Inn and share a few pints and stories with him.
Harriet takes one look at him and shoves him hard. "Uhg!" she laughs. "Keep your groupies out of the shared trailer!"

The Trinity & Neo-Platonism | Did The Church get it from Philo with Dr. ...
COMMENTARY:
What was there before The One as described in Genesis 1"1 and Revelation 4.2? There wasn't even nothing  Yet here is the question that presents the mystery of it all.
I don't propose to solve the mystery. The object of the exercise is to employ the mystery to the practical benefit of human kind  Which is why Jesus appeared and conducted Himself in the manner He did, to give us the tools we need to back into a practical ontology as the basis for the epistemology of process theology. The short version is that the Gestalt Theory emerging from Hume's theory of perception reflects the mind of The One and was captured by the mathematics of Plato's Realm of the Forms as consisting of Euclid embedded in Topology which is where Hegel's Historic Gestalt consisting of the Figure of Narrative, the logos, and the Field of Sociology and Anthropology spread out across the Tabula Rasa of Topology. Aristotle stipulates to Plato's Gestalt and presents a method for abstracting the a priori elements  reflected in  the temporal universe to the discrete components of Euclid captures in the horizontal structures of Plato's Topology. The short version is that ZIP Codes are a snap shot of the mind of The One
The epistemology of the narrative of the Bible, the LOGOS, is Gestalt. The narrative of the Covenant of Abraham begins with the Book of Job, which runs straight as a laser through the events of the Hebrew Bible to a complete stop in Babylon until Jesus renews the trajectory that runs straight to the Cross Jesus is atonement for the misery The One was tricked by The Satin into dumping on Job, twice, just to inflate The One's pride in Job's righteousness and then The One jumped into Job's shit for challenging The One's purpose in his misery, at which point The One realizes that
The Satin had an object lesson in mind: to demonstrate to The One just how awful for humans any naked encounter with The One is  Speaking from my own experience, an unmediated encounter with The One is a prelude to a horrible death, The reports of Mohammad's relationship with Gabril and Saul's encounter with the shade of Samuel echo my experience. And Job's. The One cannot simply dial back The One's overwhelming pesence. ' So, the Book of Job introduces the first two elements of the ontology Jesus represents, The One and the Satin. Like Jesus and the Holy Spirit, The Satin is a Son of God, but, unlike Jesus, he is made and not born, like the Holy Spirit. Jesus;s temptation in the Wilderness is a renewal of the  two interviews between The One and The Satin, where Jesus makes a bet with The Satin that He can redeem Jerusalem like Noah did Nineveh by employing the logical arguments Paul employs and without the necessity of the Cross. The Satin bets that Jesus will have to start a new religion, feed the 5000 and conduct a death defying stunt. It turns out, The Satin won the bet, which Jesus realizes and accepts in John 11:35, before raising Lazarus, which created the karmic debt He had to fill.
So we have The One, The Satin and Jesus as three elements of the ontology of Jesus, It so happens that the persona we meet in the Book of Job is another element in the ontology, Yaweh without a uterus, God the Father, who we meet in Genesis 15, consoling Abram and introducing him to Plato's Gestalt of the Forms in Genesis 15:5. The Spirit of God, which we meet in Genesis 1:2, is actually the second element of the God Head who still prowls the planet like the Planetary Force in Forbidden Planet. It is a non-sentient entity and feeds on the libido. It is the spirit of both the lynch mob and the Olympic Games when the torch is lit.
The Holy spirt is the 5th element who is present throughout the narrative of both Covenants but is mostly sub rosa until Jesus explicitly introduces him (he is male) and demonstrates his utility to mankind with His healing miracles, The Holy Spirit is most explicitly featured in Genesis 41 with Pharaoh's dreams and Joseph's interpretation and Jacob's Ladder. He is present throughout the narrative but , in the Gospels, Jesus and the Holy Spirit demonstrate their agency over the Spirit of God through miracles, which is what Jesus really wants to convey to mankind
The 6th element is Yaweh with a uterus and She is the feminine aspect of The One. She is the mother of Adam and the abiding spirit of the midwife (and Planned Parenthood) but most of all, She is Yaweh, Queen of Battle, the animating spirit of Duty, She who must be obeyed. She is the Duty of West Point's Duty,, Honor, Country and the source of the civic impulse of Socrates' Apology. She is who ordered Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. And She is the authority Jesus and Cornelius share in Matthew 8 and Luke 7. The Holy Spirit produced the substitute for Isaac, but it was Yaweh, Queen of Battle, who ordered Jesus to the cross in John 11:35 by way of the manipulation of the Holy Spirit in the greeting of Martha and Mary of Bethany on Palm Sunday. And it was the Holy Spirit that caused the rooster to crow twice to produce the analogous weeping of Peter to complete the doubling of the Holy Spirit fusing the narratives of Mark and John into a single expression of the LOGOS beginning with Chapter 11, which the narratives converge.
The ontology of Jesus is organized into tow parts, the 6 elements of The One, the Spirit of God, God, the Father, Yaweh, Queen of Battle, the Holy Spirit and Jesus, Son of Man. These elements can be understood to operate not unlike a Swiss Army Knife, with The One represented by the casing and the remaining elements as various utilities within this casing.
The Satan is a separate entity and is analogous to a sharping steel, the Prosecutor who indicta The One for the unearned pride in Job's righteousness.
Free Will is the pivotal issue of the Book of Job and the basis of the relationship of the individual with The One. We are all born atheist albeit with the vestigial experience of The One in the magical thinking that defines the acceptance of Santa Claus which is replaced by the logic of potty training and the emergence of Reason as a component of the psyche reflected in Kant's Categorical Imperative. Hegel is exactly correct: we have to learn Reason and the process ensures our congenital atheism that is inviolate by any direct divine intervention to reveal The One The rules of creation that The One laid down prevents The One from violating the boundaries of our egos to reveal divine existence. The One desires fellowship with each of us, but would be perfectly content is all humans remained atheists so logn as they adopt the ethich to love our neighbors as ourself.
The One doesn't require our worship to exist: the issue is, we benefit the most by employing the supernatural resources represented by the ontology of Jesus. In particular, The One desires for us to employ the agency of the Holy Spirit to optimize global weather patterns as a component of our dominion of our universe. And to be albe to reliable import the Spirit of God to potential planets (like Mars)  throughout the universe to create earth-like  environments. That's the promise of Genesis 15:5. Our destiny is in Space. The Shroud of Turin has probably captured the physics of a Star Gate technology allowing instant access to any coordinate in the universe for which the mathematics of Srinivasa Ramanujan will reveal the engineering,'
Jesus was sent to reveal these things in a down to earth, non-intimidating fashion at the same economies of scale as Job. The numerology and astrology/astronomy of Zoroastrianism was imported into the narrative of the Bible by Enoch and his 7000 year Epoch, which I just recently discovered, is an excellent template for tracing the various narrative threads that converge at the cross from Job, Melchizedek, Homer, Virgil and the Etruscans. Enoch's Epoch is divided into ten 700 year "weeks" and the change over from BCE to CE occurs between the 6th and 6eh week. We are somewhere between the 7th and 8th week  and the 19th Amendment was the breaking of the 7th Seal of Revelation. There is no Apocalypse in the future: that debt was paid in 70. The new wine of Christianity was poured into the new wine skin of the Italian Cohort of the Roman Praetorian Guard and the promise for atheist and God Fearer, alike, is world without end.
 Amen.

Books for fans of Game of Thrones: a list
Read these select titles on Libby with your library card!
The Witch of Duva by Leigh Bardugo
There was a time when the woods near Duva ate girls…or so the story goes. But it’s just possible that the danger may be a little bit closer to home. This story is a companion folk tale to Leigh Bardugo’s debut novel, Shadow and Bone.
The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
Magic, adventure, mystery, and romance combine in this epic debut in which a young princess must reclaim her dead mother’s throne, learn to be a ruler—and defeat the Red Queen, a powerful and malevolent sorceress determined to destroy her. On her nineteenth birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa. But though she may be inexperienced and sheltered, Kelsea is not defenseless: Around her neck hangs the Tearling sapphire, a jewel of immense magical power; and accompanying her is the Queen’s Guard, a cadre of brave knights led by the enigmatic and dedicated Lazarus. Kelsea will need them all to survive a cabal of enemies who will use every weapon—from crimson-caped assassins to the darkest blood magic—to prevent her from wearing the crown. Despite her royal blood, Kelsea feels like nothing so much as an insecure girl, a child called upon to lead a people and a kingdom about which she knows almost nothing. But what she discovers in the capital will change everything, confronting her with horrors she never imagined. An act of singular daring will throw Kelsea’s kingdom into tumult, unleashing the vengeance of the tyrannical ruler of neighboring Mortmesne: the Red Queen, a sorceress possessed of the darkest magic. Now Kelsea will begin to discover whom among the servants, aristocracy, and her own guard she can trust. But the quest to save her kingdom and meet her destiny has only just begun—a wondrous journey of self-discovery and a trial by fire that will make her a legend . . . if she can survive.
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
An orphan’s life is harsh—and often short—in the mysterious island city of Camorr. But young Locke Lamora dodges death and slavery, becoming a thief under the tutelage of a gifted con artist. As leader of the band of light-fingered brothers known as the Gentleman Bastards, Locke is soon infamous, fooling even the underworld’s most feared ruler. But in the shadows lurks someone still more ambitious and deadly. Faced with a bloody coup that threatens to destroy everyone and everything that holds meaning in his mercenary life, Locke vows to beat the enemy at his own brutal game—or die trying.
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
Sancia Grado is a thief, and a damn good one. And her latest target, a heavily guarded warehouse on Tevanne’s docks, is nothing her unique abilities can’t handle. But unbeknownst to her, Sancia’s been sent to steal an artifact of unimaginable power, an object that could revolutionize the magical technology known as scriving. The Merchant Houses who control this magic--the art of using coded commands to imbue everyday objects with sentience--have already used it to transform Tevanne into a vast, remorseless capitalist machine. But if they can unlock the artifact’s secrets, they will rewrite the world itself to suit their aims. Now someone in those Houses wants Sancia dead, and the artifact for themselves. And in the city of Tevanne, there’s nobody with the power to stop them. To have a chance at surviving—and at stopping the deadly transformation that’s under way—Sancia will have to marshal unlikely allies, learn to harness the artifact’s power for herself, and undergo her own transformation, one that will turn her into something she could never have imagined.

UnEdited Vibes: Lazarus Lynch
Tumblr media
It's no feeling like stumbling on great people with great talents and the #UnEdited team always excels in that endeavor! Recently their journey cultivated a pretty cool up and coming young person by the name of Lazarus aka Son of A Southern Chef!
Lazarus Lynch hails from New York City where he currently calls home. The musician and chef at first glance may appear to be a bit much,  but beyond the bright colors and cool hair is a dope individual. Featured in many national publications and shows such as Chopped, you can find Lazarus posting tasty food ideas everywhere!
Tumblr media
#UnEdited stumbled across Mr. Lynch pretty randomly and got instantly hooked. Lazarus is the host of online Food Network shows “Comfort Nation,” and Snap Chat featurette, “Chopped U.” Comfort Nation is a look into southern cooking techniques and foods. The rightly named Son of A Southern Chef travels to different southern states exploring traditions such as a Cajun crawfish boil and Gullah oyster roast while discovering new and exciting friends and adventures.
With a witty personality and magical charm, you become instantly invested in his stories. From white bbq in Alabama to shrimp and grits in South Carolina, you stay hooked and ready to eat! His Instagram also offers up a treasure trove of content! Outside of the kitchen, Lazarus is a budding musician. His single, “In My World,” is a sonic blend of relaxation and jazz with a smooth undertone to free your mind.

In lieu of that last post, an au where post ressurection Jason runs off to virginia to be a farmer
I can't write worth shit right now, but.
Basically, Jason arrives into town, checks out that the land is just that, plain soil, nothing built or grown there. It still bothers him though. What did his dad want with it? How did he came to the possession of it? It's everything that Jason still doesn't know, standing in the middle of the empty field.
He finds two jobs, rents a room, and enrolls in school, with faked transfer records and a real birth certificate.
Eventually (insert plot written by someone who read the Raven Cycle series and maybe the sequels till the end) he discovers that the deed was a payment from Niall Lynch, who died under mysterious circumstances.
Jason ends up solving his murder, solving Noah Czherny's murder, befriending Kavinsky while running for their lives from Kavinsky's New Jersey Bulgarian mafia boss of a father; and ends up being murdered by some magical shit he has like, no idea about on most part. As being Kavinsky's pal put him and the gang on the outs. Oh, and sticking his nose in the source of Ronan's trauma.
Or maybe it was just Piper.
Long story short, he's alive again. Only there's like two of them now, because one of them is the forgery Kavinsky dreamed up while he's been in a rehab.
Jason takes Kavinsky, the dream pack, and himself out of Virginia, and they go on a nice Eurotour.
Where by coincidence they meet Eugene and find out about child slaves ring. Which, thanks to Jason not working alone, they manage to put him away for a long time. And his politicians and cop friends.
During this whole debacle Talia shows up. She appreciates what are they trying to do and offers a deal. She wants to clean the house. They are going to do it for her. Virtual unknowns in the cape community, with a perfect background for a disguise (rich fuckbois who's traveling the world during their gap year). In return, she will use Lazarus Pit on the forgeries (Jay and Prokopenko) to restore them in full.
The boys all agree.
London, they save the city from bombing.
LA, they kill the Joker. Jason, actually, has to kill Joker in defence of Kavinsky or one of the guys. Joker lets it slip before he dies that he recognises Jason, and glad to become so formative a figure in his life - his first victim.
Jason is naturally freaked out.
The pack, who by this time got Prokopenko and Jay back. Everyone is off to college in different parts of the country. Kavinsky decides to go back to Virginia, with Prokopenko and Jay following him there willingly.
Jason goes back to Gotham.
He visits the city one last time, his parents graves, the Manor. He talks about what happened, briefly, with Bruce. After finding some closure there, he goes back to Virginia, where Kavinsky actually bought a whole lot of land, and that's when Jason actually started farming, with three of his companions. No magic, no crime.

hiiiii 💫 content creator appreciation!! list five favourite sets/gifs/creations/graphics/art things/etc. you've made and send this ask to five other content creators!
hiiiii 💫 right back at you, you lovely hooman! tysm for thinking of me bestie!? *hugs you* and what a fantastic creator ask game btw! (we all love talking about our work, even if we pretend vehemently not too eheheh).
okies, seeing as this ask is from a (tip-top, go follow) TEEN WOLF blog, imma start with some sterek stuff...
1. YOU NEED ME TO SURVIVE. This piece of artwork is still my favourite stiles/derek piece and, imo, one of my best pieces in general. the amount of times i've tried to recreate... whatever it is i captured... yeah, no! seems to be a one off lol. but i strive! maybe one day i'll do something i like better :)
2. DRAW YOUR SWORDS is probably the personal favourite of my sterek fics. it doesn't have the most kudos/hits etc and certainly isn't a groundbreaking piece of writing, but i just... like it. it's an under 10k one-shot getting together fic w lots of UST which is then resolved. it has lots of feels. like, lots. look, it's basically emo porn and i like emo porn, okay? and i like them in this (sti and der-bear kinda wrote it really, not me).
3. MAGIC IS MAGIC IS MAGIC is maybe my favourite piece from my (quite extensive!) sterek poetry collection. listen, there's a few bloody wonderful people on here who seem to appreciate my humble attempts at verse AND I LOVE THEM LIKE I LOVE BREATHING... but generally speaking, my poetry doesn't really get much attention, which is fine; i adore writing poetry and will continue to pour out my thoughts into stanzas regardless. so, regardless of that, i love this piece. it's definitely not my best work but it's a derek POV almost stream of consciousness that kinda rhymes a bit and I just really, really enjoyed writing it and really, really enjoy reading it back, when i remember it's existence, lol.
and now some other stuff:
4. LAZARUS RISING is a destiel/spn quite recent piece of mine i really like. it's based on s04e01, same title, and it's one of those pieces where i set out to achieve something... and DID! as in, in turned out (pretty much, it's almost never exactly, you know?) the way i wanted it to.
5. BEAUTY & THE BEAST is my last choice. it's something new and us creators tend to like the new stuff we've made (until the next piece!). it's pynch art, my magical bois adam parrish and ronan lynch from the raven cycle/dreamers trilogy book series. i love using colour in my art... but also adore a monochromatic piece! i love love love the styles of artists like AUBREY BEARDSLEY and HARRY CLARKE and always try to capture just a little of the atmosphere they create (try being the operative word there) when i make black and white pieces, while still making the piece my own.
asdfhjkljjjjsksk i thoroughly enjoyed this! a hundred thousand thank yous for giving me the opportunity to show off @ohhalefire!!! imma get on sending this to some other content creators! <333
