I just remembered that interview where Asagiri answered Dazai's ideal marriage partner and the answer was, Dazai could "no matter the girl, shape her to suit his tastes." It was an Otomedia interview. The other two Dazai questions had answers just as bad
Thank you so much for citing the interview so precisely, thanks to that I was able to find it:
I don’t know why I thought I had a lot to say on this. It is what it is. At the moment my only reaction is “yeah that checks out.”
Question 1’s refusal to give a wedding gift is pretty on par with his general work habits (ie not doing any work ever)— if he could get out of putting in time/money/effort, he’s gonna. We already know that.
Question 2’s “shaping his partner to suit his tastes” is also pretty on brand. He makes his plans work with whoever will end up involved in them. He personally hands Akutagawa an inferiority complex on a silver platter and shapes his obsession with and desire to surpass Atsushi. Prior to Dazai’s repeated provocations, Akutagawa was entirely neutral on Atsushi—and Dazai was able to create an all-consuming obsession over the course of one or two conversations.
Question 3’s “setting up up his partner to betray him” is just as canon as the former two responses— he set up Chuuya to seem like he betrayed the sheep.
so all in all, this interview isn’t telling us anything new— it is interesting to see how all of the typical Dazai-isms come through in the context of dating and relationships though, so thanks for sharing this interview with me, I’m glad I got the chance to read it

Day 3 - cloak
thankfully Obi-Wan's robe cloak is big enough to wrap around a certain Commander who might've been tossed into the freezing river during a mission
oh and when there's a chance to make something even more Codywan? ofc I'll do it, here's a bonus
it was a long mission, okay

"Obi-Wan’s magic had always been at its strongest when he was protecting someone. Perhaps that’s why it was easier to defeat their remaining assailants after Cody went down injured."
I had the absolute best of time working on this illustration commissioned by the wonderful @wanderingjedihistorian for their fic What It Means! If you like a good fantasy setting, swords and sorcery, Jedis as mages and the Clones as knights do check it out!

Obi-Wan reached out, then hesitated. He felt a strong urge not to wake the boy, to let him sleep like this forever, to forever anticipate a great adventure, forever dream of personal triumph and joy. This feeling held too much sentiment and weakness to be allowed, but he allowed it nevertheless. This must be how a father feels, looking down on his son, worried about an uncertain future, Obi-Wan thought. I would hate to see him fail. But I would hate far more to lose this boy. I would almost rather freeze time here, and freeze myself with it, than face that.

Extremely unpopular opinion but I know in my heart that Padmé Amidala would be awful parents to Luke and Leia. Padmé would refuse to talk to the children when they’re upset and the less said about Anakin ‘youngling slayer, hand cutter, “but the women and the children too” Skywalker the better tbh
I think it’s weird that people are convinced they would be the worlds best parents with the healthiest relationship, I’ve seen a lot of posts saying that Leia and Anakin would be super close when like.. Leia was a rebel and a feminist, in what way would Leia and fascist fanboy be bffs. I’ve seen the same that Padmé and Luke would wear matching outfits and gossip and all, but that’s not fitting with Luke’s character at all? Idk every time I see Luke in those family fics he’s infantilised to all hell - even besides that children aren’t copy’s of their parents, they have their own autonomy and personality.
Realistically Padmé and Anakin are far, far to obsessive over each other to give their children a healthy upbringing, Anakin choked Padmé (while pregnant) out of anger which makes me think abt what exactly he’d do if angry with the kids or Padmé? Like he cut off Luke’s hand, it definitely doesn’t bode well
^^Edit: looking back on this now abt Padmé being “alright with it” that wasn’t the case, sorry abt that one guys
I honestly believe that had she had lived long enough she would’ve tried to raise the children with Vader. Anakin never really seemed to care that much over the kids (I believe because it was a realisation that they couldn’t keep their affair hidden any longer and he would have to choose between being a father/husband or a Jedi) and I couldn’t imagine he’d be alright with Padmé having to give a lot of attention to the kids instead of him.
Ultimately Owen/Beru and Bail/Breha were the best options for raising the children seeing as the Jedi order was out of the question. The reason Luke and Leia turned out to be healthy, well adjusted adults is because of their respective adoptive parents (Aunt/uncle), not because of “to be angry is to be human” amidala and alderaan destroyer 2000 Skywalker
Sidenote: throughout RotS Padmé and Anakin barely even trust each other💀💀 how are 2 people who can’t trust one another supposed to raise kids cmon now

Day 5 - caf
since my scribbles can be totally illegible, here’s a transcript
Obi-Wan: Here you go, Cody
Cody: Oh, thanks, sir
Cody: this... it’s caf?
Obi-Wan: Ah, yes! I’ve noticed my teas are not really to your tastes, so I stocked up some caf for you instead! I hope it’s okay
Cody: ... oh
Cody: ...thank you.

(this is from star wars: the jedi path, published in 2013)
for those of you who may not know: not every jedi ended up becoming a jedi knight. there were four "civilian" divisions of the service corps that would absorb any initiates who failed to become padawans. this allowed them to remain jedi, to maintain their relationship with the force, and to use their abilities for the betterment of the galaxy.
the service corps consist of agricultural, medical, educational, and exploration divisions. the agricultural division used the force to help planets improve agriculture to avoid famine. the medical corps worked in the halls of healing on coruscant to heal jedi and non-jedi alike. the educational corps employed teachers, scholars, and archivists. and the exploration corps conducted archeological research throughout the galaxy.
anyways, that's what this page & the commentary written on it is referring to. there's... so many things to unpack here!
dooku's elitism. he wants to completely kick these poor pre-teens out of the order (their family) for not being special enough in his eyes, and he has zero appreciation or recognition for the work the service corps does
obi-wan's empathy, but also his genuine respect for others who are seen as less "powerful" or "important" and his appreciation for the roles that every jedi played in bettering the galaxy, no matter how small
anakin's blatant fascism (it was not in fact just a gimmick) and his refusal to value those he views as less "talented" (true "fuck them kids" energy)
