Jason and Nico are dating and in love and their connection is deep-rooted and incredibly complex and everything.

jason and hazel are best friends. They're besties. They hang out and try over-complicated coffee drinks together and they have sleepovers (with Nico ofc) where they gossip and paint each other's nails and swap stories about growing up and inevitably dive into trauma about their mothers and how that has affected them in the modern day.

Jason and Nico are dating but more often than not Jason has his arm around Hazel's shoulders when they all three hang out together. Nico is always reluctant about touch, or maybe only in the earlier stages of their relationship, but Hazel has no such reservations so she and Jason hug all the time. Jason carries Hazel around on his shoulders when they're in large crowds, usually with Nico holding onto the back of his shirt so they don't get split up.

Hazel and Jason have matching tattoos (Nico and Jason do too, but Jason and Hazel got theirs first). Hazel is the person Jason goes to when he first realizes he maybe wants to wear skirts. Jason is Hazel's first stop when she wants to spar or train with someone, because she KNOWS Jason will not hold back or pull punches.

Nico is beyond happy about all of this as well, because he loves Jason so much and so deeply but there are some days he just. cannot deal with people, he doesn't have the energy to talk or interact or even be in the presence of other people, and on those days, Jason and Hazel hang out and Nico knows that the two people he loves most are taken care of, that they will still be there when he's ready to see them again because they'll keep each other safe.

It's like. Jason and Nico are soulmates and they will always find each other, always save each other, always know each other. but Jason and Hazel are life partners in the way where they didn't fit at first but as they grew older and spent more time together they learned that they were both rebuffed by the walls each other put up and, actually, the person underneath is pretty cool.

Jason and Nico are married and Hazel lives in their third bedroom kind of situation. IDK. they are just important to me. they have to be Connected. near each other. spidey senses tingling when they're in danger.

(this rant brought on by the reminder that there are 7 different kinds of love given names in greek and Jason Hazel and Nico are three of them. Romantic, Familial, and some form of deep platonic.)

My solangelo headcanons:

•The first time Will noticed his crush on Nico was in ttc, when Nico was asking Percy to take care of Bianca, because he had to be up soon to help in the nursery(Lee got mad at him for being late bc after Percy left, he stayed around 20 minutes just staring at Nico)

•After hoo(but before toa), Will decided that, atleast once a month, all Apollo kids would have a karaoke night and made his siblings accept Nico there with the same zombie excuse that Nico used to sit next to him toa

•After a year of dating, Will admited to Nico that the karaoke night was an excuse to sing taylor swift songs(more especifically the lover album) to him and Nico blushed extremely hard

•In Nico's first birthday with Will, Will made him a corn party and made fun of him for over a month bc of that

•Every second saturday of the month, Nico and Reyna left their camps(and, later, the hunters) to go to mc donalds, and, when Will asked him abt what he did every second saturday of the month and why he was so busy, he said it eas family meeting

•The first person Nico told abt his crush on Will was Jason and the first person Will told was Michael Yew

•Nico used to sneak around to the Apollo cabin to sleep in Will's bed and just cuddle when he had nightmares, but all Will's siblings thought it was something else, so Will started to go to tge Hades cabin instead

Saw that post about Nico and Annabeth being gamers and their fanbase trying to figure out, between Percy and Jason, which one the two were dating and ofc I had to polyam it because babes that is who I ammmm.

Anyway that post as is: but Nico is dating Percy and Jason (and he and Annabeth also have their own thing going on but it's very casual non-labeled, let's make Percy suffer type of thing because I am Percicobeth at heart), so after Annabeth posts the short video of her small wedding ceremony, everyone assumes that they've figured it out, until Percy passes by in the background of one of Nico's streams and calls him babe.

And everyone is just ?? At first they assume Annabeth must be back there or Percy said babe by accident or uses it at a catch-all term for affection or smth Bc Nico didn't even seem phased. And his fans prod, like, do you live with Annabeth and Percy, and Nico is just "yeah sometimes", which answers nothing for them.

In the middle of one of Annabeth's streams, someone asks her if she went on a honeymoon and she's like yeah, Percy's dad gave us a trip to *insert island of your choice* and she pulls up some photos she took to discuss the architecture behind the buildings. Percy is in the background of a lot of the pictures, doing a variety of poses that amuse everyone, until someone spots Nico in one of the pics - slightly blurred and out of focus but very much there, and they're all ??? "Did Nico come with you?" yeah. "On your honeymoon?" Yeah.

Annabeth shows a picture of Nico soaking in a tub of oatmeal with a scowl on his face because he got a really bad sunburn, and then goes back to lecturing about architectural design and how the structure of the buildings benefits them against the climate, etc etc etc.

Everyone is so confused.

Annabeth gets really into whatever you do in Minecraft and answers zero questions after that.

There become wild theories that Nico and Percy are cheating on their respective partners. Some people think that the obvious long-haul friendship between the four is what is keeping Jason and Annabeth from breaking up with them. Other people think that the two are completely unaware.

There are a couple polyamory theories but not as many people pay those any mind, because that's less dramatic.

Eventually though, after months of arguing between fans and a few probing questions that go ignored, the reality becomes obvious during pride month where Annabeth posts a few photos of her attending NYC pride. The whole friend group is in tow, and everyone is pleased to see more of the people that show up in the background of the two's streams/videos/monologues.

The second to last picture of the day is Nico sandwiched between Percy and Jason, the two of them kissing his cheek while he blushes. It sparks so much insanity that people dive to the comments without scrolling on and are greeted with reminders to look at the last photo.

Which is Annabeth pushing Percy away by his face while she kisses Reyna (who's got the lesbian flag on her cheek obvi), Nico hugging her from behind, face nuzzled into the crook of her shoulder and neck. The picture is obviously very lighthearted and teasing and cute. But people still go insane about it. What does it mean?? What did the other picture mean? Who is dating who? Did Percy and Annabeth break up? What is going on?

(the polyam suggestions once again go mostly ignored in favour of the drama)

Nico ignores all the pushing questions because he's really only ever on social media to post videos or stream, but they take up so much of the commentary (even with people getting booted out by mods or other people reminding them that they have a right to privacy and to stop asking) that Annabeth gets really frustrated because, ugh, this isn't what her channel is for. So she opens up on a stream with the clear cut facts. It's polyamory. It's always been polyamory.

(Polyam fans are thrilled they were right)

"I'm married to Percy. I have a girlfriend who lives in LA. Nico is dating Percy and Jason. We have our own thing going on too because sexuality is weird and Nico is cute and also Percy gets stupid about it, and that's always fun. It's been like this for years, we're doing fine. It's literally not that big a deal, move on."

People who keep questioning things get booted from the chat, and everything mostly dies down for the rest of the stream. Until nearish the end, Nico comes in to ask her what she wants for dinner and she's too absorbed in what's she doing to hear him, so he parks himself in her lap like he's done it a billion times because obviously he has and squeezes her cheeks until she starts paying attention to him.

Everyone goes fucking insane about it again.

Here is another prompt, high school au where Percy is the punk skater boy who isn’t so much a troublemaker as trouble just happens to always find him, Nico is the smart loner boy who keeps to himself and thinks no one beside his small group of friends notices him, but Percy does. One day Percy sees Nico hanging out with Will and think that Nico might like and gets sad, but is determined to win Nico over so he dyes his hair blonde. Hilarity ensues. Bonus points if Nico and Percy were friends as kids but grew apart when Percy started high school

When Percy had turned 6, his father had brought home his old friends from college to talk about business ventures.

His excuse had been that his friends had children around his age, so he could socialize a bit more, since his reputation at school wasn't the best (the restroom thing had been a set-up, he'd tell anyone willing to listen).

While he had made friends with the Grace siblings, it was the younger di Angelo sibling that had become his best friend.

Nico thought everything Percy did was cool, and he would follow along with all his ideas and share the blame when they got in trouble.

He had never paid attention to the fact that Nico was two years younger than him. The boy was as mature as he was, and much cooler than the kids his age who would call him slow for his reading problems.

The two years only became a problem when it separated them once Percy entered High School. They didn't lose contact completely, but their relationship fundamentally changed once they had different schedules, subjects, and friendships (yes, Percy eventually managed to make friends his age aside from Jason).

Now they were together again but... Percy was a junior and Nico a freshman

The powers that be had decided that freshmen and juniors just didn't mix.

Percy hated that.

He was forced to see as Nico got his own small circle of friends, from Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang to Reyna Ramirez-Arellano, and seemingly forgot about him.

In the two years since they shared everything, Nico had grown more reserved, meeker, while Percy had just decided to embrace his reputation as a troublemaker and dress the part (even if his record was remarkably clean despite the numerous incidents in science lab and gym), with ripped jeans, leather jackets, the whole package.

For the past two years, he had been convinced that he only missed his old best friend (couldn't call him that now with Grover around), and had been sad that even now he couldn't get back what they had.

That all changed when Will Solace entered the picture.

The boy was not subtle at all about his interest in Nico, and that had made Percy realize that he didn't just want Nico back as a friend, but to be able to tell Will Solace and everyone who tried that Nico di Angelo was taken.

"And that's why my life is over," Percy whined as his head hit the table at the library. "I can't just talk to him! At this point, we're more like acquaintances."

"You know, most ex-girlfriends would kick your ass for talking about your current crush with them," Rachel pointed out. Annabeth hummed in agreement as she turned a page of her book. "You're lucky you dated us."

"That's because I only like the coolest girls," Percy said, trying to butter them up. "Maybe they're cool enough to tell me how I can get Nico to ditch Solace and notice me?"

"Nice try," Annabeth said, putting her book down. "Percy, you don't even know if Nico is interested in Will Solace."

"Nico said he wanted to marry Phoebus when we were kids," Percy muttered miserably.

"The blond guy from the Hunchback of Notre Dame?" Rachel asked, raising an eyebrow. "Eh, I'm more of a Kristoff gal, myself."

"He also had figures of him! And John Smith, and I think Freddy from Scooby-Doo!" Percy's voice rose enough to get 'shh' from the librarian. He ducked his head and whispered, "Don't you get it?"

"That you guys watched too many cartoons?"

"No! He likes blondes, which means, Will has a chance!" Percy dropped again. "It's over, and it didn't even start."

"Percy, please," Annabeth said as she patted his head. "I'm sure Nico is not that shallow."

"But he has advantage," Percy said, voice muffled by the table. "Like, if we were even I could—"

Percy's eyes widened. He grinned like a maniac.

"Percy..." Rachel warned. Percy just shook his head.

"Thanks for the help I need to go now!" He said quickly and loudly, running out before the librarian could reprimand him again.

"He's going to do something stupid, isn't he?" Rachel said groaning. Annabeth picked up her book.

"Did you forget who we're talking about?" was all she said before losing herself in the pages again.

Nico opened his locker, glad that it was a friday. Just one more day of classes and it would be him, Frank, and a night of Mythomagic Online.

Someone bumped into him and made him drop his books. It wasn't on purpose, but the girl who did it kept on going as if he was a ghost.

He sighed. He was already used to being overlooked, but it still stinged a little. In fact, no one had ever paid him much attention aside from his current friends and Will.

Well, no one except for Percy.

The older boy had been his hero all through his childhood, and he always fought to include him, even if it got him bullied by his grade peers for talking to 'a rugrat'.

Nico had come down with a bad case of the Percy crush when he was younger, but once he had started high school things had changed between them. Their schedules were too different, and even if Percy had vowed to keep their relationship, it had turned even more difficult when they both made their own friends and what little free time they had could no longer be spent together.

Now he only caught glimpses of the boy in the hallways, and they would pass by each other as if they were strangers.

"Need help?" Someone asked, offering a hand. Nico looked up to see a blonde guy with a charming smile. Nico took his hand and stood up.

"Thanks," he said, looking to make sure he still had all his books.

"You're welcome, Ni."

Nico froze. There was only one person who called him that, but...

"Percy?" He asked, looking closer to confirm that yes, the person in front of him was indeed his childhood friend. "What happened?"

This was so wrong. Now that he knew it was Percy, his face looked all wrong with that hair. Percy's natural dark hair made the blonde dye look darker in places, with patches that seemed almost red with the lighting.

"Just wanted to update my image." Percy shrugged. "What do you think?" He struck a pose. Nico stared for what felt like an hour.

The started chuckling.

It turned into full-blown laughter as Percy looked more and more confused.

"I... I'm sorry Percy, but it really doesn't suit you at all!" He managed to say. Percy's face fell, making Nico feel guilty. "B-but maybe you just chose wrong! Maybe a darker blonde would suit you better?"

Percy sighed and kicked at nothing.

"It had to be this shade," he said glumly. "It's the shade you like!"

"The shade I... like?" Nico repeated, confused. Percy blushed.

"It's the same shade as those Disney guys you said you liked..." Percy admitted quietly. "You know, back when we were kids."

Nico blinked. Some people were glancing at them, but at this point, Nico couldn't care less.

"The guys that I... Percy, did you dye your hair for me?" He asked, incredulous. Percy's cheeks turned a deep red.

Honestly, Nico was not far behind.

"I just... I wanted you to notice me." He crossed his arms. "I... I missed you so much, but here we are, almost three months after school started and... we still act like we don't know each other."

"Why didn't you try and speak to me?" Nico asked. "It wasn't like I would turn you away."

"Well I didn't know that!" Percy defended himself. "I thought maybe you had moved on, that you didn't want to be friends anymore. It's been two years, you know!"

"I thought... you had forgotten about me," Nico said. "You know, people tend to not notice me. They pass right by me. I thought you had finally gotten the memo."

"I've always noticed you," Percy said, smiling hesitantly. "Ever since you gave me that figurine for my sixth birthday."

Nico smiled back, leaning on his locker.

"And yet I never got you into Mythomagic," he said teasingly.

"The card descriptions are small! Blame my dyslexic ass!" He said, laughing. Nico laughed too.

The bell ringed. Nico needed to get to class soon.

"I have Chemistry," he said, almst sadly.

"And I have... to wash this dye off," Percy said back. They both chuckled. "But hey, if you're free, maybe we can have lunch together?"

Nico pretended to think it over. He nodded.

"I'd like that, Percy."

"Great! See you at lunch then!" Percy took a couple of steps backwards, not breaking eye contact until he bumped into Clarisse, who started insulting him.

Nico hurried to class. He berated himself. He was supposed to be over Percy.

His heart, however, was hammering in his chest, happy to disagree with him.

magnus is an underrated character in his own series

lester/apollo and magnus were BY far the funniest narrators

i didn't like jason's death but it was necessary and it made sense

i actually liked meg, she had a great storyline and she wasn't annoying

with enough training hazel could probably be stronger than percy and jason

percy would end jason in a fight in two seconds flat

rick's representation is very flawed both in poc's and lgbtq characters

(the feather in the hair, the food skin color descriptions, the fact that the only three latinx/hispanic characters come from abusive backgrounds, making leo call calypso "mamacita" in tdp, giving poc characters inherently non poc traits (hazels hair and eyes and pipers eyes), having samirah's hair out of her hijab at some points, making anubis white (biggie on that one), making his only book series with two mixed race main characters have three books instead of five)

(the genderfluid shapeshifter trope, outing nico and giving him the most trauma out of the seven but "hey it's okay because he gets a boyfriend", giving leo a girlfriend when he was very obviously into jason (and even then he didn't need to date anyone i really like the head canon that he is aro), making a slur of sorts for alex and having multiple main characters say it, making his only book series with a very openly queer main character (alex but also magnus at the end) have three books instead of five)

leo did NOT need to get a girlfriend, he should have stayed single as it was better for his character development

Hi the post infuriates me

It was a big moment when Nico finally revealed his feelings for Percy in front of Jason and Cupid. While Nico’s bravery was admirable, the truth that he had a crush on someone as tragically straight as Percy was utterly heartbreaking. Thankfully, all of Nico’s friends were loving and supportive. Annabeth never even gave him a side-eye. As far as we know.

1. He was outed

2. It wasn't bravery that had him forcibly out himself it was pain and fear and the force of him BEING OUTED

3. Percy is not fucking straight and the books have heavy hints otherwise and YOU DONT GET TO SAY WE CAN INTERPRET HIS IDENTITY AND THEN PULL THIS BS IN PRIDE MONTH

4. How is any way that Percy acts with guys at all straight?

5. Annabeth? Not giving him the side eye? What's the implication here? That she's homophobic? That's shes jealous of a child liking her boyfriend that literally went to hell for her? Make it make sense, oh wait it doesn't. She gave him a fucking high five what book did you read!?

If Nico hadn’t come out to Jason, who knows if he ever would have worked up the courage to confess his feelings to Will. At first, we weren’t sure they were ever going to get past their we both like each other but we’re too scared to admit it so we’re just going to bicker all the time phase. In fairness, though, that’s a rite of passage for most demigods before they start dating.

This ship was not actually set up in anyway. The emotions were shoehorned in and Will forced him to listen to him. There is no "oh we like each other but shy" stage. Did you read the fucking book?

Nico has control over the dead, and Will’s healing powers are used to keep people alive. They’re quite literally night and day. It might be hard to see what drew them together in the first place . . . until you remember that rebelling against your parents is a big factor in young love.

Do I even need to explain what the fuck is wrong here??? You're saying their relationship is just teen rebellion??? And that their parents would be mad for them getting a partner so different??? Bitch Hades married the Goddess of Spring.

Fortunately for Nico and Will, nothing helps strengthen their relationship like continuously risking their lives together.

It’s been a long road for these two, but after a series of seemingly never-ending deadly quests, Nico and Will now have the strongest bond of any two campers at Half-Blood.

But if they ever take the trip to Tartarus that Nico mentioned, that could test them in entirely new ways—maybe even break them apart . . .Kidding! Just kidding!

Percy Being Good To Nico

I love Percy and Nico friendship, but in canon, Percy was such an ass to Nico. So here are some ideas of how that could have been changed in a canon divergent fic

After the Battle of the Labyrinth, when Nico was trying to leave CHB and Percy stopped him, Percy gave Nico his phone number and home address in case of emergency (that’s how he knew where Percy lived)

After Percy’s birthday party that Nico crashed, Sally started getting Nico to come for dinner once a month, which caused Nico and Percy to become a lot closer

This seriously cut back on Percy’s stress because he wasn’t constantly worrying about Nico (like where he was, if he was okay, how many monsters was he fighting now, how much is he eating, where is he sleeping, when was the last time he actually performed any sort of self care, etc)

Pretty quickly once a month dinners became once a week dinners, which usually ended in Nico staying overnight

When Sally and Paul got married, they moved into Paul’s apartment, and Sally gave Nico the address. When he showed up the first Friday for dinner, he almost cried of joy (they had added an extra bed in Percy’s room for Nico to stay in)

Percy throws Nico a surprise party for his birthday every year, and Nico tried baking Percy a cake for his birthday one year. Suffice to say, it didn’t end well, but Percy still ate it with a smile on his face because his little brother made it for him

After that though, Percy and Nico agreed that Percy and Sally would stick to the baking, and Nico could stick to making meals

They had a two hour conversation after the Battle of Manhattan to talk about the Styx thing. It ended with a tearful apology from Nico, and a tearful hug from Percy. Now the two of them have a conversation twice a month about their feelings and bullshit that’s happened

Percy making Nico watch an endless stream of Disney movies (Finding Nemo, Moana, The Little Mermaid, basically anything that goes along with the sea)

When Percy finds out about Nico’s love of pirates, he gets Nico to watch all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies with him

Percy feeds Nico bullshit facts about the modern century (ie. the Soviet Union renamed themselves the Cotton Candy Brigade and then disbanded, but citizens of former soviet countries are still called Munchkins)

Nico feeds Percy bullshit facts about both the 30’s and Italy (ie. Italy is known to its citizens as the Peninsula of Cazzo, and that they didn’t have cutlery or plates in the 30’s)

Sometime between botl and tlo, Nico’s feelings for Percy morphed from romantic to brotherly

When Nico had to lie to Percy about who he was in SoN, it was the hardest thing he ever had to do. Percy knew that he knew Nico, and it crushed Nico that Percy couldn’t remember him, and that he couldn’t tell Percy anything. He hadn’t seen his big brother in almost a year, and now Percy didn’t remember him, and he couldn’t remind him

When they saw each other again on the Argo 2 before Percy and Annabeth fell into Tartarus, you cannot convince me that Percy didn’t give Nico a hug

Nico genuinely didn’t have a crush on Percy by HoO, he thought of Percy as a brother. He was still really ashamed of being gay, and he loved Percy (just in a very different way). That’s why Jason wasn’t sure if Nico still liked Percy or not after the Cupid thing. He could tell that Nico was ashamed and loved Percy, but he didn’t know that Nico just loved Percy in a different way

Nico got super ticked off at Percy when he said ‘are you sure you can do this’ to the shadow travel thing at the end of HoH mostly because Percy has a bad habit of treating Nico like he’s still that ten year old geek from Westover Hall

Like really. Everyone else around Nico sees a terrifying teenager who’s summoned army’s of the undead and destroys his enemies in ten seconds flat, but Percy just sees a kid with big eyes infodumping about his favourite card game wearing armour that’s three sizes too big telling him that he’s scared

It pisses Nico off because he’s not a little kid anymore, Percy! he can take care of himself! he isn’t gonna break the second he goes to fight!

Also, by extension, Nico and Tyson are siblings and Hazel and Percy are siblings (which adds Frank into their family, cause he’s Nico’s age and dating Hazel). So when Reyna, Nico, and Hedge were caught by Leah and Dakota on the boat, Nico was super excited to see his little brother again. He wasn’t even that upset when Tyson pulled him into a hug (even though he hates hugs)

When they see each other again at CHB after the Battle, they give each other a big hug. Percy tells Nico’s that he was so worried he’d never see his baby brother again, and Nico proceeds to make fun of Percy for waking up Gaia with a nosebleed

Also, after Reyna and Nico’s hug, Percy pulls Nico aside and is like ‘what’s the deal with you and Reyna’ and Nico’s like ‘she’s my sister now’ and Percy goes ‘oh, okay, cool. bring her around for family dinner next weekend’

Same with Jason, Rachel, and Meg, too. Percy’s always down for more adoptive family being around

After Nico came out to Percy and Annabeth, and told Percy that he’s gay, Percy went to the infirmary to talk to Nico. He wasn’t allowed in at first, but he waited outside for three hours so he could speak with Nico

Of course, this led to a three hour discussion, which involved a lot of apologies from both of them, and a lot of shared stories, and laughs, and a few tears. Percy told Nico he shouldn’t be ashamed of who he is, and he should’ve told Percy sooner

When Percy went home for the school year, and to see his parents again, Nico joined him. There were lots of tears, hugging and blue cookies. Then Sally grounded them both for staying away for so long and worrying the hell out of her and Paul

When Percy sees Nico and Will interact, he makes it his goal to make them a couple. He and Jason spend hours plotting ways to get them together

Whenever Nico’s away from home for any amount of time, Percy gives Nico a big hug, ruffles his hair, and complains that he stayed away

When Nico first moves to New Rome for university, Will’s living in Massachusetts for Harvard Med School, so he moves in with Jason and Percy for a few years while he gets a degree in linguistics and anthropology

Btw, Annabeth thought Percy would distract her when she was trying to study, so she moved in with Piper and Reyna, and Percy moved in with Jason. It should’ve only taken her 4 years to get her masters in architecture, but the university offers a bunch of history, math, and design classes that she took because they were really interesting (it ended up taking her 6 years)

What are your thoughts on Annabeth/various gods? You talk a lot about Percy and Jason and Nico (and you're RIGHT) but I think Annabeth deserves to sleep with, like, Hades. Idk love your work, gave me brainworms so I'm passing them on!

I haven't thought much about Annabeth with a god - I have thought about Hazel with Hecate though! That being said - you did specify Annabeth SO here are so off the top of the dome thoughts:

Annabeth is the architect for Olympus, obviously many great ways to meet and become close with various gods and goddesses. I think this is probably the best avenue for her to hook up with Aphrodite. Lmao, Athena is very much "don't bother my daughter while she's working" and Aphrodite is just "and I took that personally". I think even more so Annabeth becomes so oblivious to other people when she's working sometimes that Aphrodite is just fucking miffed that her appearance around her is going unnoticed that she's like "I'm gonna fuck this girl if it's the last thing I do."

Annabeth being Annabeth realizes pretty quickly what's happening but she doesn't want to be just some fling for the goddess so she just... ignores it? Kind of. Tries to set it aside as "I am Piper's friend, this would be so fucking weird" and Aphrodite changes tactics from outright seduction to more of a courting, dating thing.

She's a great girlfriend (obviously) and her centuries upon millennia of being married to Hephaestus means she knows quite about a bit about engineering and architecture, so she engages with Annabeth when she gets into her little rants and it leaves her so unbelievably flustered because before then the only person outside of her cabin she could talk to about these things without having to use layman terms or keep it broken down and simple was Leo.

Aphrodite also has her own war aspect that often goes forgotten so Annabeth is discussing her ideas for strategy on an upcoming Capture the Flag game and Aphrodite is voicing her own ideas back and it's just so good for the both of them because people, even other gods with all the modern shifts, regulate her down to just being pretty and sexual and while Ares doesn't often to leave her own to dry that way, he definitely prefers to talk about it with his sister so Aphrodite enjoys being able to flaunt the side of her that people ignore and Annabeth fucking adores how excited she gets about it, even starts crafting designs for armor and swords (and yeah, Hephaestus has that covered for her usually, but it's so sweet, Aphrodite could fucking cry).

Also Annabeth loves learning new things and throws herself into the BDSM, sexual aspect of a relationship with an eagerness that makes Aphrodite extremely horny and very excited.

(Cue personal amusement as Athena accidentally walking in on Aphrodite tying Annabeth up and it's just "I told you not to bother her when she's working" "does she look like she's working right now?" and Annabeth wants to die so fucking much)

Poseidon would be a choice, I think. Say she and Percy breakup for whatever reason and she still misses him and Poseidon is there and he's older and bigger but his eyes are still the same and it's just so familiar and safe that she doesn't even think too much about it until the day after and she's waking up and freaking out because fucking shit i just slept with my ex-boyfriend's dad. But she goes back anyway because the ocean is intoxicating and safe and she finds herself constantly seeking the feeling of being drowned.

My personal HC for Poseidon is that while he does care about people, that circle of people is extremely limited and the only person he truly loves is his wife (and Nico in the PJO universe because I think he deserve it), so her relationship with him is short-lived, a year or two at the most and it hurts her intensely when he breaks it off.

Also Annabeth when she's mad or feels strongly about something becomes a little headstrong and vengeful and I can see her accidentally sleeping with Poseidon even she's dating Percy because she's pissed at him for whatever reason - maybe he didn't notice that someone was flirting with him and she took that to mean he was welcoming their advances and gets stupid about it and winds up getting railed by Poseidon and it's so good but she has so many fucking regrets about it because it's Percy's frigging dad.

Now Hades because you mentioned it -- I dunno. My take on Hades is that he's very languid about sex. He doesn't really have much of a stake in it personally. It's good, yeah, but he could get the same fulfillment out of it that he gets using his own hand. He's not usually aroused by other people but he still gets the random urge. He'll agree to sex if asked about it though and that's where Annabeth clocks in.

She's helping Persephone redesign her summer cottage after her work on Olympus is complete (or mostly complete) and she's curious because she's heard the myths and she's met the man and yeah, Nico seems to be happy with his dad, but he's his father, right? He didn't kidnap Nico and force him to marry him. So she tries to be subtle about it. But Persephone has heard all the questions a million times over and over again so as subtle as Annabeth is being, it's not working.

She's not about to get into her complex relationship with her husband with some random mortal who's there to do a job, so she's blunt about it. "I love him. He's important to me. I don't care what your opinion is on it. He's a good person who cares about me and our children." And then because she loves the reactions she gets from people when she says it, "Plus his dick is huge and he knows how to use it."

Which levels into Annabeth's mind, makes itself a home, and doesn't leave. Suddenly it's all she can think about it.

Nico takes her down to the Underworld so she can get his siblings' advice on their rooms in Persephone's cottage and Hades is there and Persephone's words block into her brain and it's not like she and Nico are close, you know? Like it wouldn't be a bad thing if she tested Persephone's claims.

She doesn't really know how to flirt (it's never really been something important to her to learn) but Hades has had years of weird flirting from his wife to understand that when she starts hinting about her conversation with Persephone, he's just, "Are you asking me to have sex?"

Yes. She is.

Turns out Persephone's right. His dick is huge. And he knows how to use it.

Persephone is amused. And a little bit pissed off. She's not Hera levels of jealous but she still has emotions! So she strikes a deal with Annabeth. She won't turn her into mulch for fucking her husband behind her back, if Annabeth makes sure to take care of him while Persephone's away. Only for the summer though.

She thinks its supposed to be solely sexual but its not. Hades is as much of a workaholic as she is and dragging him out of his office to eat food or interact with living people that aren't his children and friends/employees is fucking hard. His family has more or less given up on him because of it. But when she manages to do it, it's fun.

He has a wide knowledge of human history - things most people wouldn't even know because he's spoken to the souls, reviewed their history. He tells her stories of the past, answers any of her questions, summons ghosts for her to talk to directly. She in turn treats him normally. She's nervous as first (he's the fucking king of the dead and her memory reminds of her when she was 12 and he was staring Percy down with murderous intent), but quickly levels out because he's just a person. She argues with him heatedly, makes coffee the way he likes, bullies him into being functioning and then gets mad when he teases her for being the same way.

They fuck too, obviously.

She falls for him for the same reason Persephone did. She's scared for the end of the summer, when Persephone comes home, and it's all over but Persephone just laughs at her. Hades doesn't connect with people that much. She really thought Persephone was just going to chuck her out on her ass after that? Don't be ridiculous.

The winter is, however, Persephone's time to shine. But when spring rolls around and the frost melts off the windows and the world prepares for heat and beach vacations, Annabeth opens her cabin door to a tall man clad in black asking if she wants to get breakfast.

Okay , so I had a pretty big brain moment today and I realised there are so MANY parallels between pjo and Actual Greek mythology. Although I doubt Rick knew what he was doing and maybe it's just some coincidences ... But I'm pretty sure the Two of these were glaringly obvious and intentional

Zeus-Poseidon : Percy - Jason : Honestly this rivalry is EXTREMELY overrated. Jason and Percy both kinda (or at least should) loathe their godly parents. So I want them to be best bros . I don't have anything against Jercy either. So yeah ... This rivalry was extremely unnecessary and cliché

Demeter-Hades : Meg - Nico : I gotta say they have an adorable dynamic , it's nice

In real mythology Poseidon was a god who frequently got into fights with various gods , Just like Percy.(and providing that by showing Jason Percy rivalry is a really basic and poor way to show that) ,. So I like to believe , that as much as Percy is loved , he has just as many haters too.

Without further ado let me explain the rest, hear me out :

Percy - Piper dynamic: in real mythology , Poseidon had a rivalry with Aphrodite. They were both in a relationship with Nerites (the only brother of the 50 neirids) . And that was quite a fight. I like to believe that Piper not finding Percy attractive was a way to express the grudge she had on him because ,well Piper had quite a crush on Annabeth (which may or may not be just as bad as Nico's crush on Percy). I like to believe Annabeth was her lesbian awakening. But she got over it eventually. Okay I get it, that Percy is the hottest demigod on the planet. But let people have crushes on Annabeth too. So yeah , Piper did not like Percy right away.

But Later on Piper and Percy bonded over loving the sea , and having one of the best Brotps , because both their parents are related to the sea.

Silena-Clarisse: Sorry to Silena × Beckendorf shippers , but Silena actually loved Clarisse and wanted to die wearing her armour (which is a nice reference to patrochilles and I cry over it more often than you can imagine , I'm not talking about it here). Silena grew up hearing that Aphrodite was an ultimate male magnet and that she had to live up to it. She was so sick of following the heteronormative ways that she held a grudge against her mother and went on to join Luke's army. But that's not the point.

The point is Aphrodite was forced to marry Hephaestus , but her heart belonged to Ares. The same way the heteronormativity forced Silena to pretend to date Beckendorf (a child of Hephaestus) , but her heart belonged to Clarisse (a child of Ares) , ouch.

Annabeth and Percy rivalry (before they got together): okay , Rick made a major mistake by making Annabeth a Mary Sue kind of character (while trying to portray their die hard rivalry and failing miserably). Because oh my god, the possibilities ?? of ?? Athena - Poseidon rivalry !!! Need I say more ? They faught like cats and dogs.

Poseidon: Oddeysus can't return to his wife and will wander the sea

Athena: Haha , he's my son now , I've adopted him.

And

Poseidon: This land shall be mine !

Athena , turns around on the chair she was sitting in: You're late to the party. But you sure do deserve a temple in Athens . Well bestie ,you tried.

Imagine the chemistry Annabeth and Percy could've had. Pure enemies to friends to lovers. I mean , that's already the plot, but it'd have been better if Annabeth and Percy would've been more competitive. You know what I mean ?

Lastly Will and Percy rivalry: Even though this isn't canon , I am 100% sure it's canon. We consider it canon. Apollo and Poseidon faught not once but twice. They're the literal definition of 'the boys'. Including that one time both Poseidon and Apollo were cast down as humans.

Will and Percy clearly have exactly the same kind of dynamic. They fight on the smallest of the matters. And it's almost comical to see two grown up boys fighting over what bathbombs taste like (I'm pretty sure Will and Percy have had a bathbomb eating competition).

Prompts I’ve received but probably won’t write (sorry!):

Will shows Nico his glowing powers for the first time - I can’t figure out how to write this because I’ve been kind of inconsistent about whether or not Will has control over this ability and also I really love this fic on the same prompt that is so good I don’t think I could top it!

Will, Rachel & Nico side quest with the Trogs (missing scene from canon) - I am not not great at action scenes and I am terrible at writing the more silly humour parts of the RRverse, which definitely includes the trogs, so I will likely avoid this one...

Percy & Annabeth talk to / tease Will - I basically covered this with ‘The Nico di Angelo Protection Squad’ in Between Me & Everyone Else. It didn't really feature Annabeth but I think I head canon Annabeth as a little more subtle about her teasing so it might not fit in anywhere. 

Nico finds out about Will’s middle name - I have no ideas for this prompt, although if I come up with anything or figure out how to combine it with another moment from the story, I will happily write it!
