So in this AU, where Snow decided to fight against the Capitol. How did that happen? What happened to him that had him go "Wait...maybe this isn't the way to go. We should leave for now."
Tumblr media
I'm so sorry for not answering sooner.
You see, in this au the ending never happened, Coryo never lied and Lucy Gray accepted him yada yada they travelled and ended up in 13. When they were found they presented themselves to 13 as runaways (himself a trained peacekeeper assigned to district 12 from district 2) Though, they were relatively safe and stable and he was able to climb to power and took back what was "stolen" from his family, Coryo does not want to stay down there forever. He hates the lack of opulence, luxury and life. He also holds a grudge against the Capitol for his "downfall".
In 13, he holds a different name along with Lucy Gray and he wants his name back and his family name's old glory back and of course he wants to get back to Tigris and Grandma'am (tho, grandma'am croaked before they meet again). He hates that he is in hiding, he hates that he is hidden and as president there, He cares little about the people in 13 but Lucy Gray does so he does his best to make the place better for her and his kids (of course himself, he is ambitious and wants some kind of privilege no matter how small in 13) so he's in semi-in contact with the rebels and the Capitol themselves, exchanging goods with them and accepts refugees due to 13's little supplies and population. Then the pox outbreak happens and it was when his son, Orpheus Sage, almost died that he can no longer bear it and so he had 13 join the rebellion fully. After the war was won, he was elected as president of Panem (and all the things it entails) and moved his family to the Capitol.
I hope this sound coherent and not a bumbling mess
Aidoneus Thorne, president of district 13 A.K.A. Coriolanus I'm-only-nice-to-my-family-Snow.

~ seven years later ~
"You've got this, Darling. It's going to be perfect." Coryo insists, kissing your temple as you relentlessly adjust your hair, trying to tame any imaginary flyaways in your flawlessly straightened hair.
"As long as it's not a disaster..." You mumble, giving up on your hair and refocusing on making sure you have all your papers.
Arena map? Check. Tribute and mentors list? Check. Schedule?
"With you in charge, I do not doubt that it will be anything short of flawless. I know you. You wouldn't have it any other way." Your husband assures you, taking your spot in front of the large mirror to adjust his red coat, matching to yours.
You sigh, tucking the large stack of meticulously organized papers into your bag. "I mean, does anyone honestly expect it to be perfect? It's my first games... There's a small margin for error, right?"
"No." Coryo replies sternly, turning to face you. He grabs your chin as you groan, forcing your eyes to meet his. "There's no room for error, but it will be perfect. So don't worry." He plants a gentle kiss on your lips. "And if you need anything, just call."
"Okay..." You hum, smiling as you look up at him. "I'm going to miss you, though." Your smile shifts into a pout, and he kisses your forehead.
"I know. I'll miss having my assistant around, too." He mumbles against the softness of your skin.
Your time working together under Dr. Gaul had been a dream. Why did everything have to change all at once? You've been together every day for years, and you had the most fun helping plan the games and pitching all your ideas to Dr. Gaul, staying up late over ideas due the next morning and too many cups of coffee, giggling over how funny it would be to see a games where the people of the Districts got to vote over who to send in.
"Do you think it's because that's kind of what happened to Lucy Gray?" You giggled in the dark, feeling Coryo's form shift under the blankets next to you before you felt his breath hit the side of your face.
"Now that you mention it..." He laughed quietly. "Yeah, it totally was."
You had always come up with Dr. Gaul's favourite ideas together. But now, she was gone. And it was just you. You honestly thought that woman was some kind of immortal beast, but clearly, no one is fully bulletproof.
She had offered the position of Head Gamemaker to both of you in her will. You and Coriolanus had worked well together, she had always said that about you. That the two of you were her favourite experiment.
"No, Darling. You take it."
"What? No, we've always done everything together." You protest, furrowing your brow. "She's offered it to both of us, we can do whatever we want, no more waiting for her approval. We can run with it! Come on, it'll be so fun, Coryo."
"That's your dream. Not mine." He smiled at you, brushing his thumb over your cheek.
You frowned, focussing yourself on pulling the buttons of his shirt so they were perfectly aligned. "Are... Are you sure? I don't know if I can do it without you."
"You'll never do anything without me, you know that." He hummed, pushing your hair out of your eyes. "If you need help, just ask. I'm right here. Always."
"I'm not an assistant anymore." You laugh. "Technically, you're kind of my assistant now." You shrug, leaning down to pull on your shoes, white with bottoms red to match your coat.
"Okay, well, I wouldn't put it like that..." He laughs, shaking his head at you and holding out a hand to steady you while you adjust yourself to accommodate your heels.
You take it gratefully, standing up and brushing off your coat once more with your free hand. "Be honest, Coryo, do you think the bear is too much? I feel a little like it's cheating, they don't even really have a chance. Do you get what I mean?"
"Darling," He cups your cheeks in his hands. "No one will be able to look away. That's the most important part."
"I just... I want it to be something different. Something people will still want to watch."
"Everyone will be watching." He assures you. "Now, let's get going. You have a big day ahead."
"Yes sir, Mister President."
"My name is Lucretius "Lucky" Flickerman, your favourite and only host of the annual Hunger Games on Capitol TV, and I have a very special treat for you all this morning before the beginning of the games." You gently remove your coat as you sit down across from Lucky, holding it out for someone to take before the cameras flit your way, though the live audience can already see you.
"For anyone who lives under a rock, this beautiful woman here with me is our lovely First Lady of Panem, and now, Head Gamemaker, Dr. Y/N Snow." He continues as your coat is taken away, and you smile across at him. "Thank you so much for squeezing us into your very busy schedule. Now, how are you feeling about today, Miss Snow?"
"Doctor is fine." You correct him politely, to which he utters a quick apology. "And I am feeling very good about my first games. Dr. Gaul left some big shoes to fill, but I've been working with her for years so I have some really exciting ideas that I just can't wait for the world to see."
"Yes! I'm certain you do." Lucky grins. "Now, I don't know how much of our audience will remember this, but the first time we met was during the tenth games, I was hosting for the first time and you and your husband were both mentors! Just young academy students with some big dreams, isn't that right?"
You laugh, nodding as he speaks and letting the cheers die down. "Yes, I remember that. All of us were kind of getting a feel for how things would work, and my husband was actually the one who came up with the ideas of betting and sponsorships. He has truly always been such a leader, and so smart. He was the one who asked Dr. Gaul if I could help him with his mentorship, and she agreed, and then she just really loved how well we worked together so she kept us around to study under her all these years. It has been such a fun and kind of... fulfilling journey for us both."
"And now, here you are." He nods at you.
"Here I am." You echo it back to him, waiting for another question.
"Now, we have to address what can only be described as the elephant in the room..." He starts, and you try and hide your confused look as you straighten your posture. If there was some kind of problem you should have been made aware before you set foot on stage. "That summer, after your mentorship. Tell us. What happened? Both of you disappeared off the face of the earth right after your success in the games, then came back with these shiny new internships under Dr. Gaul, how did you swing that?"
"Oh!" You laugh, partially relieved it wasn't about these games, but hesitant because everyone knows better than to bring up the tenth games in any sort of detail. "Well, that was the beginning of our internship with Dr. Gaul, and she wanted us to gain some life experience, so we did some touring of the Districts on our own to get to know the people of Panem better. Neither of us had ever left home before, so it was definitely a unique experience that I think was really good for both of us. It was a super secret thing, for some reason. We weren't even to tell our families."
"I see! Well, I hope you learned everything you sought out to?"
"We did." You nod. "And more."
"Okay, well, with that cleared up, tell us more about the games you have planned for us this year. Is there anything new we should be expecting?"
"Oh, definitely." You nod, smiling wide now that you can once again talk about your games. "But I wouldn't want to spoil anything, so everyone will just have to watch." You shrug.
"I don't know if you are aware of this, Dr. Snow," He leans in a little closer, smile on his face. "But one new thing that we know for sure is changing this year, is that the president, your husband, has made it mandatory to watch the games. Not just here in the Capitol, but everywhere in the Districts as well. He made an announcement just this morning, he wants everyone to see what you've worked so hard for."
"Aw." You blush, pressing your hands to your chest. "That's so sweet! No, I didn't know that." The audience eats up your reaction, and you try to keep your eyes on him instead of acknowledging all the clapping and shouts from below you.
"Well, that's just about the cutest surprise! He has a lot of confidence in you." He laughs, reaching over and patting your leg. "You've all heard it here, he's just as good a husband as he is a president!"
"It's true." You agree, hardly audible over the crowds enthusiasm.
"Speaking of your husband..." He says, turning back to look into the wing of the stage and nodding at someone. "He set us up with a little surprise for you, if you don't mind."
"Oh, please." You laugh, covering your face as your cheeks heat up. "Of course he did." You shake your head, whistles from the audience not helping your blush.
"Okay, you can look now. Don't hide!" Lucky laughs, and you lower your hands from in front of your face to be presented with a bouquet of white and red roses. It wasn't an extravagant gift from him, the amount of roses he has gifted to you since your return from Twelve together is astronomical by now, but it's a gesture you cherish nonetheless. You smile as you take them.
"Beautiful, as always." You grin, making a point of smelling them before handing them back to the assistant who's waiting with a vase for them.
"And we have one more thing here, I believe..." He hums, looking back again while you're distracted passing off the wrapped flowers.
When you turn back to look at him you gasp, hands flying up to cover your mouth, fearless of whether or not you would smudge your lipstick. "Is that for me?" You ask, voice higher in octave from the excitement as one of the stagehands walks out with a small dog, fur dyed a soft shade of red with a matching bow around its neck.
"Indeed it is!" Lucky laughs as you're handed the puppy.
"Oh my god..." You smile, tears brimming in your eyes. "Hi there..."
"I think there's a note for you there too..." Lucky urges you and you grab the tag tied onto the bow. "Mind reading it for us?" He says, holding his handkerchief out to you.
"Thank you," You laugh, dabbing under your eyes with your free hand. "A new assistant to match your shoes." You read, laughing at the inside joke.
Everyone laughs, and you get from Lucky's confused expression that you should explain. "Uh, working under Dr. Gaul we would always joke that he was my assistant and vice versa." You laugh, wiping your eyes again before you continue. "I am so proud of you. Finally, the world will see you as I do. Intelligent, strong, and beautiful. Unstoppable. That's why I love you, you're as pure as the driven Snow."
The audience awe's, but you know none of them get it the way you do. "Another inside joke." You nod at Lucky, trying to hold back from crying so much you turn into a mess.
"I stand corrected. That is the cutest surprise." He points to the dog in your lap. "Both literally and figuratively."
"I don't know what I'll do with it." You laugh, shaking your head as the puppy jumps up against your chest, trying to lick your face.
"How about a name, to start?" Lucky prompts you.
"Oh, gosh. Well..." You giggle, lifting it and setting it back down so it will sit in your lap. It's so small, hardly bigger than your hands. It'll likely never grow larger than your lap. It's perfect. "What about Lucky?" You tease.
"Oh, you flatter me, Y/N. Come on, something better."
"I don't know!" You laugh. "I'm not good at naming... things."
Lucky laughs. "Our Head Gamemaker with no ideas? That seems unlikely."
"Okay, okay. You're just putting me on the spot here, I'm a little nervous." You laugh, stroking over the dog's head. "I tell you what, before the games begin this morning I'll come up with twelve names, assign them randomly to the districts, then whoever shall win the games will determine the name of my dog. Does that sound fair?"
"Ah! That's brilliant!" Lucky laughs, clapping his hands together. "And that's a good incentive for anyone who hasn't yet placed their bets or sent in donations for the tributes! Your donation may just be what gives the First Lady's dog its name. How fun!"
"It'll be interesting." You giggle, looking down at the puppy in your lap. It must have been white before the dye, it took so well. Maybe it will fade into a pink before it grows out its natural white fur- you wouldn't want it to stay red forever, but for show, it was perfect.
"Now, we really shouldn't be taking up any more of your time. You have a busy day ahead!" Lucky says and you nod in agreement, standing up and carefully tucking the small dog under your arm. "Thank you for making time for us, I know I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us."
"Thank you. I really hope you all enjoy the games!" You smile, holding out a hand for him to shake which he takes quickly, then allowing you to walk off the stage.
As predicted by a certain Mister President; Coriolanus Snow, your first games as Head Gamemaker went without a hitch. They were perfect in every way. Capitol citizens were buzzing- not just about the games, the mutts you incorporated into the newly decorated arena, or the most shocking kills, but also about your dog. The people loved her, and so did you. She hardly ever left your lap or your side for the duration of the games, which only lasted a matter of days.
The party your husband threw for you at the presidential palace, your home, at the end of the games was extravagant. Coryo couldn't help but broadcast his pride to all of the Capitol. He loved you; you were his, and he needed everyone to know. Not a soul in all the world was anywhere close to being on your level, and shaping you into the perfect wife and First Lady was what Coriolanus Snow considered his greatest achievement. As you stood next to him, his palm tucked neatly against your lower back, you were perfect. More perfect than you were the day you fought for a spot in the mentorships that he granted you, more perfect than the he first time he kissed you, and more perfect than both of the days he had killed someone for you. Without question, he would do it all again if it meant he would get to hold you even just one more time.
"I'm so proud of you, Love." He gently rubs your back, looking down at you while you overlook your garden from the patio off of your bedroom.
You smile, standing up on your toes to plant a kiss on his cheek. "Snow lands on top." You whisper, biting your lip when you see a shift behind his eyes.
"You bet we do." He hums with a smug smile, lifting you up and carrying you back inside.
And somewhere, thousands of miles away in the Northern shambles of a still recovering District Thirteen, while you and your husband are celebrating, Sejanus Plinth and Lucy Gray Baird share knowing, sorrowful glances when it's announced on the crackling radio that the winner of the Seventeenth Annual Hunger Games was a boy from District Two, and because of this, the First Lady of Panem's dog shall be called Sage.

He let out a gritted response, when you wrapped your arm around his. "Yes..?"
He tolerated you at best, trying to hold in his internalized disgust at your family. They bought their way into this life, not being born into it through your own blood. He had no way to gain his wealth out of nowhere, so you became his next solution. You seemed rather easy to manipulate.
He remember when he first met you, for once he hadn't come up with some vile thought of how to use someone for this own gain. "Would you like to eat with me for lunch?" That was his first step, enticing you to believe he's someone kind. From there, he had earned the respect of your parents and you yourself.
"Coryo, you won't believe it! I saw Livia Cardew get rejected by Dennis Fling!"
He looked at you a little aggravated for a moment, Coryo? Since when did you call him that?
"I can see why." He shrugged, walking a little faster out of uncomfortableness. Why did he feel weird about you calling him that? Lately, you've been more.. noticeable to him. He wasn't particularly a fan of that. He'd only tolerate you for the money. He had a series of events he had planned. Win the hunger games, gain the prize, and marry you out of disgust.
You huffed, wanting him to slow down. "Mind if you slow down a bit?"
He was about to give an aggressive response, but quietly said, "Sure."
Tumblr media
Coriolanus seeked you out, huffing about how you were so useless to give him a letter. He was about to head to his classes, before he saw something that made him stop in his steps. He saw you talking with Sejanus with a frown, what made you look so.. unhappy? Not that he cared, he just wanted to make sure nothing affected his plan. He walked forward, the thought of you lingering.
Tumblr media
You sat at the table, holding a book on the small history of the Hunger Games. You were in the library. The Academy was definitely rich, sometimes you felt too small for the Capitol. You weren't an idiot, you've seen the stares the others have given you. You were too into your reading to hear the familiar footsteps behind you.
Snow was a little surprised to be honest, maybe you weren't as stupid as he thought. Well of course he thought you were.. intelligent, but he just never expected to see you. Not to mention, he was trying to ignore the beat in his heart moving a little faster when he saw you.
He don't know what moved him to do it, but he sat down at the table.
"Mother said she wanted to see you, y'know." You mumbled, ignoring him to finish your book.
He could barely hide his eyeroll, deciding to talk to you. How else could he.. manipulate you?
"What book are you reading?" He placed his attention on the cover of the book.
"Erm, history of the Hunger Games. It goes up till the ninth hunger games." You nervously said, not really expecting him to ask you about it.
For some reason, he spent the rest of the time till the library closed asking you about your specific type of books you hold interest in.
Tumblr media
He had surprisingly gotten close to you, not seeing you as much as a nuisance as you used to he. He first chose you since you wouldn't affect him through love, but lately..
He went to wrap his arm this time around your shoulders, "for the look." You looked at him in slight surprise. You didn't know he was a fan of pda? He once told you that he was usually reluctant to show it unless needed, whatever that meant.
You hummed, not noticing the look he gave you.
You sure didn't seem to have a voice like Lucy Gray, but he supposed you weren't so bad. His eyesight flew to your lips, he never realized how scarlett they were. The opposite of a white rose, that's why he never liked anyone really. They were his opposite, but now he was deciding you weren't such of his opposite as he thought you were.
He remembered when he first met you. You were just Sejanus' little sister back then, someone he had to be near because of Sejanus deciding they were brothers. He wouldn't even see Sejanus as 3rd forgotten cousin if he was forced too. Now, you were something else he wasn't sure what to think of.
"Library again?" Somehow, he had ended up also coming to the library the same time and way as you, as if he had not totally came with you four times after the first.
You had started to get what he was doing now, was this supposed to be his way of non-chalant affection? You raised one of your eyebrows, saying, "I'd expect you to know that after you basically integrated yourself to come with me four times in a row. The least you can do is help me with my project."
He groaned playfully. You looked at him appalled so far in your relationship, he had never really acted playful with you. You slipped your hand into his, trying to ignore how his eyes burned into your face.
When you reached up to the library, he opened the door for you. "Ladies first."
You thanked him, going down to sit at your regular table. You had already grabbed your books, giving one to him as he sat down. Next to you? He always sat across from you. "Find a sentence that proves the concept, okay?"
He nodded wordlessly, his hands already flipping through the pages. For some time, there was silence between you. He was thinking to himself. Even though he did for the prize, he knew he didn't have to help you this much. He never had to.. care so much. He was sure he could keep you satisfied with a hug or too.
When he asked you out, he was simple and brought you a white rose as a symbol of his so-called crush for you. He never thought he'd be so infatuated for you. Something he thought he'd never admit for a district girl of all people.
Coriolanus Snow had come to a terrifying conclusion, he didn't dislike you or hate you. He liked you. As in, you could give him a kiss and he'd beg for more.
He unconciouslly took one of his hands away from the book, and placed it on yours.
You kept looking at your book, but a small smile formed on your face.

Jealous golden retriever
Tumblr media
paring: Rachel Zegler x Fem!reader
Summory: Rachel and Y/N are doing the red carpet for the new movie when suddenly a cute boy tries to flirt with Y/N. Let's say the red carpet becomes a comedy show on it's own.
A/N: it's a bit similar to the one with lucy gray but who gives a fuck, both are just sassy queens and I love a good old jealous fanfic.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a glamorous night at the movie premiere for Rachel Zegler's latest blockbuster. The red carpet was rolled out, cameras flashed, and Hollywood glittered in all its splendor. Rachel, the perpetually bubbly and cheerful girlfriend, bounced around like a ball of sunshine. Y/N, on the other hand, exuded an air of confidence that dared anyone to mess with her.
As they mingled with the A-list crowd, Y/N's protective instincts kicked in. She kept a watchful eye on Rachel, navigating through the sea of people with a no-nonsense attitude. Little did Y/N know that the night was about to take an unexpected turn.
Enter the cute boy, possibly an actor, who sauntered up to Y/N with a smug grin. He started laying on the charm thick, blissfully unaware that he was treading on dangerous territory. Rachel, witnessing this from a distance, felt a pang of jealousy that sent her into action.
In her attempt to shoo away the boy, Rachel chirped, "Um, excuse me, Mr. Smooth Operator. She's taken, and trust me, you're not her type. Her type is more 'I'll break your nose if you mess with my girlfriend' kind of guy." The boy, seemingly immune to Rachel's warning, continued his pursuit.
Undeterred, Rachel turned to Y/N with a faux-sweet smile. "Sweetie, should I fetch the newspaper to swat this pesky boy away?" she quipped, batting her eyelashes. Y/N rolled her eyes, suppressing a smirk.
But the boy, as if on a mission to test Rachel's patience, kept pushing his luck. Rachel's golden retriever charm started to wear thin. In a tone that was more lioness than puppy, she warned him, "You really shouldn't mess with me. I once stared down a raccoon for stealing my sandwich. You think you stand a chance?"
As the red carpet spectacle unfolded, the cute boy persisted in his pursuit of Y/N, seemingly oblivious to the protective force that was Rachel Zegler. Rachel, her golden retriever vibe now hanging by a thread, shot him a look that could have melted steel.
Undeterred, the boy smiled at Rachel, cocky as ever. "Look Sandwich girl, Didn't know I needed your permission to talk to your girlfriend." Rachel's eyes narrowed, but her comeback was ready.
"Listen, Romeo, the only permission you need is to exit stage left before things get Shakespearean," Rachel fired back with a playful yet pointed warning. The co-stars, catching wind of the banter, started chuckling, sensing the impending showdown.
One of Rachel's co-stars, a witty sidekick in the film, joined the fray. "Hey, buddy, just a heads up, Rachel here once arm-wrestled a bear. And won. So, tread carefully." The boy, not one to be outdone, retorted, "Yeah, well, I once beat a cockroach in a staring contest. So, bring it on, Grizzly."
The banter escalated, with the co-stars now taking turns jokingly warning the boy about Rachel's legendary protective streak. Meanwhile, Rachel, still trying to skedaddle the boy away, threw in her own snarky remarks. "Oh, so you beat a cockroach? I've beaten Monopoly in under an hour. Try me."
But the boy, seemingly unfazed, made a daring move. He circled back for round two, confident smirk intact. This time, Rachel's golden retriever patience had run out.
She leaned in, eyes ablaze, and said, "Look, buddy, I've got a black belt in sass, a PhD in sarcasm, and a master's degree in making people regret their life choices. So, take a step back before you become the subject of my next blockbuster – 'The Boy Who Poked the Wrong Golden Retriever.'"
The co-stars, now in stitches, egged on the boy, goading him with laughter. Undeterred, he shot back, "You know, grizzly girl, I thought your job was acting, not barking."
Rachel, now fuming, unleashed her snarkiest warnings yet. "Oh, honey, you're about to witness a performance that won't win me an Oscar but might earn you a one-way ticket to Regretsville. Population: you."
As the banter reached a crescendo, Y/N, thoroughly entertained, watched the showdown unfold. The co-stars, realizing the comedy gold they were witnessing, cheered Rachel on, knowing that the boy had just stepped into the ring with Hollywood's sassiest protector.
the boy decided to up the ante. In a misguided attempt to provoke Rachel, he leaned in to kiss Y/N's cheeks, a move calculated to get under Rachel's skin. The co-stars, now aware that the boy had just taken a leap into a lion's den, exchanged amused glances, silently acknowledging that he was now on his own for this reckless maneuver.
Rachel, witnessing the cheeky move, shot the boy a look that could freeze lava. With a sarcastic smirk, she commented, "Oh, how original. Did you come up with that all by yourself or did the cockroach coach you?" The co-stars erupted in laughter, sensing the brewing storm.
The banter escalated, with the boy making a snarky comment about Rachel being a "pocket-sized powerhouse." Rachel, embracing her inner stand-up comedian, fired back, "Well, at least I can fit into a purse. Can you fit your ego into one?" The co-stars erupted in laughter, their appreciation for Rachel's snark reaching new heights.
But the boy, perhaps fueled by a misguided sense of invincibility, went further. "You must get lost in crowds. How do you even find Y/N?" he jeered. Rachel, her humor now veering into dangerous territory, replied, "Oh, it's easy. I just follow the sound of Y/N shouting my name in bed every night. Works like a charm."
The co-stars, now holding back tears of laughter, watched as the boy's cocky demeanor began to crumble. Frustration and annoyance painted his face. "What's the matter, Goldilocks? Can't handle a little friendly banter?" he taunted.
Rachel, her patience finally snapping like a twig, shot back with a dangerous edge, "Friendly banter is like a two-way street, sweetheart. What you're doing is more like a reckless joyride in the opposite direction of a cliff."
As Rachel warned the boy, Y/N, sensing the rising tension, tried to ease her girlfriend. The boy, seizing the opportunity to throw more fuel on the fire, commented, "Aww, isn't that sweet? Little Rachel has her knight in shining armor."
"Did he just....he did say that didn't he?" Rachel was fuming and ready to actually kill the boy and when Y/N sensed the shift in Rachel she stepped in. "look boy, just go because if mama bear here explodes nobody will lift a finger to help you." Y/N said and actually scared now, the boy backed away. As the night progressed, the battle became a story in the history books but Y/N could not be prouder.

Here's a small little request!
Lucy Gray x Reader (Established Relationship)
Lucy Gray is really scared of how you will get along with the rest of the Covey cause their all really protective of each other. Reader meets the Covey on a journey to the lake and gets along with the Covey. The younger Covey members treat the Reader like an older sibling (annoying them as much as possible) and it just warms Lucy's heart.
Just a cute little idea!
lucy gray x reader
I'll always be such a softie for the covey <333 (I'll never forgive you, coriolanus, for stealing lucy gray from them.)
you stare in shock, mouth agape as your girlfriend invites you to go to the lake with the covey. "what?" she asks nervously, before you engulf her in your arms, embracing her tightly.
"of course I want to go," you reply, feeling her relax against your body. "I never thought you'd ask, honestly," you admit.
she sighs, pulling away gently and shrugging, "of course, it's about time you visited my favourite place in the world," she smiles widely. this relationship was still new—it was delicate. you didn't want to scare each other off just yet by being too forward. so when lucy gray asked, your heart warmed as you realised she was finally comfortable enough to consider inviting you to the covey's hiding place.
she kisses you passionately, before hearing her cue to go back on stage. "bye, darlin'," she whispers, before running on stage—leaving you to stare at her in awe.
the next day, you trudged along the dirt path that led to the forest from the seam with a backpack over your shoulders. once you get to the meadow, you spot the small group and wave out to them. you ran up to kiss lucy gray on the cheek, before being introduced to her family. maude ivory pulled you into a tight hug, smiling widely and nudging her cousin's side. lucy gray rolls her eyes, brushing off her younger cousin. barb azure offers you a kind smile while tam amber nods softly. clerk carmine smiles brightly and hugs you as well.
all six of you hike to the lake, chatting along the way. they were practically grilling you, "what do you do?" or "what did you think of last night's performance?" causing you to feel flustered. you answer honestly, occasionally looking for help from lucy gray, but other than that you were already getting along like a house on fire.
when you finally make it to the lake, everyone strips to their swimmers and runs to the pier. "I'll race ya!" maude ivory calls out, sprinting to the water as your eyes widen in shock. without hesitation, you chase after her—clerk carmine, wanting to feel included, not too far behind—and manage to jump off the pier before she could.
lucy gray's laughter echoed throughout the small area, as she watched you play with the younger children in the lake. she enjoyed watching you get along with her family, especially maude ivory. her younger cousin was an excellent test of character—and she'd taken an immediate liking to you.
as the day progresses, you become closer with the other members as well. tam amber and barb azure, while often quite soft spoken, found they could be comfortable around you and would engage in conversation eagerly.
at one point in the afternoon, you lock eyes with lucy gray, who intertwines her fingers with yours and rests her head on your shoulder. "well, they sure seem to like you," she teases.
"yeah. I'm glad you asked me out here today," you reply, kissing the top of her forehead.
"boy am I glad you came."

Natsu Harem: Fairy GET! 4/14
Let's see... Pink, brown, white.... We'll go with blue. Yes, blue. (人◕ω◕)
Tumblr media
Juvia will be the next here. (人◕ω◕)
Tumblr media
When did they meet?
During the Tower of Heaven incident. (人◕ω◕) Admittedly, Juvia's "love at first sight" thing with Gray is... Well, it happened. Even with this series having fanfiction in its veins, I won't pretend the crush never existed. I already acknowledged Chelia's crush on Lyon, and Cana's dabbled around with men... Might as well touch on Juvia's obsession with Gray. I am no coward. I will overcome this hiccup with relative ease~... Not that Gray doesn't deserve a girl. ... I'm just not crazy about Gruvia. Navia is much more interesting. Fite me. (人◕ω◕)
Tumblr media
So, Juvia goes and helps Team Natsu infiltrate the Tower of Heaven to save Erza. (人◕ω◕) She's jealous of Lucy's bond with Gray, so she makes her air bubble smaller out of spite. They all manage to make it into the Tower, so no harm no foul~...
To be perfectly honest, however, Juvia and Natsu interactions are fleeting in canon. So I'll skip the long-winded review of canon events and just give a bare-bones look back at it. Even if Juvia's whole shtick is supporting and orbiting around Gray, the fact remains that she does help Team Natsu and Fairy Tail as a whole... Even joins the guild. (人◕ω◕)
Tumblr media
When did they grow closer?
This is a million yen question, folks. While there's a ton of flexibility and options, strictly going by canon Juvia would never give Natsu the time of day. Good thing I was never a canon purist. (人◕ω◕)
Juvia's thing is Gray, yeah? So it follows if she wants to be as close to him as possible, she'd hafta join Team Natsu. Cuz for better or for worse, Gray is nice and cozy on a team with his hotheaded rival, Lucy, Erza, Happy, and eventually Wendy and Carla. (人◕ω◕) That said... If Juvia does join up, I can see Erza wanting to attempt some team bonding exercises to get to know one another better~... This means not just bonding as a group, but in two- to three-person units. This means sooner or later, Juvia will have to team up with Natsu and be properly introduced.
Tumblr media
... Do not be fooled, however. (❋•‿•❋) Juvia is a stubborn, faithful woman. Bonding with Natsu is her least favorite ways to pass the time... He's loud, has no manners, always picks fights... Oh yeah. And he always beats up her Darling. (❋•‿•❋) You can be sure that in their early interactions, Juvia-chan attempted to order Natsu to stop picking fights with Gray, if only so that her Beloved could better spend his time.
Tumblr media
It doesn't work out, of course. Natsu's just as much of a free spirit as Juvia is. And moreover... Natsu and Gray both confirm for Juvia that they get plenty out of butting heads with each other; in their own quirky way, they're making sure the other isn't slacking off, and constantly measuring their strength against one another. (❋•‿•❋) Juvia might not like it... But it is what it is.
So once the initial cold shoulder phase is over and Juvia does some jobs with Natsu, she begins to see his caring spirit. Whether it's her, Happy, a client, or someone else being threatened... Natsu gives it his all to defend them. While Juvia finds it admirable, she does still think Gray is leagues above Natsu. And really, she's besties with Gajeel. She knows Dragon Slayers are strong and have big hearts. She knows that. ... They just don't appeal to her on a romantic level. (❋•‿•❋)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's something a little interesting, though. (❋•‿•❋) Lisanna befriended the Edolas Juvia. So when the S-Class trials come up, she volunteers to be Juvia's partner, even though Juvia is severely down in the dumps about being a rival to her Beloved. She doesn't mind Lisanna's companionship, Juvia's just got Gray on her mind. Always. (❋•‿•❋)
But the Lisanna connection really is a possible way in for Natsu. An additional way for him and Juvia to be connected. After the trials and the seven year gap, Juvia does grow closer to Lisanna, and consequentially she and Natsu get more time together little by little. (❋•‿•❋) The Navia ship is often a slowburn, folks. Natsu isn't romantically attracted to Juvia, not for a long while, and you know Juvia is a faithful woman. And you know Lisanna won't be telling Juvia to jump ship, no, no. Lisanna-chan can be a bit... greedy like her neesan. (❋•‿•❋)
Still, the Grand Magic Games goes to show Juvia that Natsu is remaining as tough as ever. Which is good for her Darling, cuz Gray needs a strong rival. (❋•‿•❋) Juvia also enjoys participating in the games...even if for the first while she was technically a rival to her Beloved. Again. But then final day of the games came up, and Juvia replaced Natsu's spot so he could go save Lucy. Then she was a teammate with Gray-sama. (❋•‿•❋)
After the games and the stuff with the dragons... Juvia-chan thinks Natsu has earned a reward for helping give her time with Gray-sama, not to mention the destruction of the Eclipse Gate. (๑╹ω╹๑ ) They're just friends, but Juvia has come to accept time with Natsu is not time wasted anymore. She winds up knitting Natsu a new scarf... Not that Natsu is willing to accept the thing, cuz the scarf he got from Igneel is more precious to him.
... This depresses Juvia a lot, considering she put a lot of thought into her gift to Natsu... On top of being rejected by Gray constantly, it's like being turned down in stereo with Natsu joining in. Natsu picks up on this, and resolves to cheer Juvia up despite not understanding what's wrong. After Mira walks him through the problem - to which he only half-listened, half-understood - Natsu decides to get Wendy's help in enchanting the scarf to have some of his Magic. He'll hafta "recharge" the scarf every now and then, every few months, but he gives the scarf back to Juvia and she's amazed at how toasty it feels. (๑╹ω╹๑ ) At first she thought Natsu was just throwing it back at her, but once he explained what he and Wendy did... Juvia's touched at Natsu's thoughtfulness. ... Even if she still hasn't given him a proper gift yet. Juvia feels bad about that. But. Natsu-kun isn't a complete blockhead of a friend, and Juvia will take this as a win. (๑╹ω╹๑ )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do we even need to go over Juvia and Meredy? (๑╹ω╹๑ )
Tumblr media
... (๑╹ω╹๑ );;;
Tumblr media
When does friendship turn to something more?
After Tartaros, Juvia can't think of anything except how she hurt Gray by helping "kill" his dad... She doesn't even know or think about Igneel dying... So whereas Natsu's off cavorting with the Strauss Siblings during the year hiatus, Juvia's with Gray-sama. (๑╹ω╹๑ )
... It's not exactly everything Juvia wanted, despite how she puffs it up as all that. (๑╹ω╹๑ );;; Natsu's Magic ran out months ago in the scarf, and Juvia has felt... empty without it. Plus, even with Gray treating her as a good friend, he still edges away from romance. Naturally this bums Juvia out. And when Natsu sees the scarf and just charges it up for Juvia without being prompted... That sticks in Juvia's mind. (๑╹ω╹๑ )
She's there when Fairy Tail's all reunited. And Juvia goes with Team Natsu to save Makarov from the Alvarez Empire. The subsequent war brought to Ishgar is... overwhelming. A lot happened. There's several points Juvia isn't sure how they'll make it through the day.... But they do.
And in spite of everything that's happened... Gray still turns her down for a relationship. Of course he was overly apologetic about nearly killing her, and Juvia is a precious friend to him... But Gray can't force something that isn't there. He carried his dad's wish to hunt down END and kill him for the past year, and now he's just not sure what he's gonna do from now on. Sticking with Fairy Tail and Team Natsu is obvious, protecting his friends is "no duh", but he just... His head's not in the right place for a relationship. He needs time to unwind and figure out his own personal goals in life.
Tumblr media
Not that this more decisive rejection doesn't rattle Juvia to her core... She keeps insisting she'll wait for Gray, but her insistence only makes Gray all the more resolved to keep his answer as "no"; cuz in his mind, Juvia deserves better after the mistakes he's made. And she shouldn't put her whole love life on hold, let alone dedicate herself to someone that just may never reciprocate...
That's when Gray decides to get Natsu, Lisanna, and Meredy's help on this one. They're all friends with Juvia, and if anyone could get Juvia off this tunnel vision thing, it'd be them... It's not easy. Juvia is tenacious, committed, and really, does anyone like admitting it's over when it's over...?
Tumblr media
After some prodding from Lisanna and Meldy, Natsu takes Juvia out for dinner. He even gets dressed up with the girls' help, and go to a nice restaurant. Sure, it's not this perfect outing that Juvia envisioned, and she's even more devastated when she perceives Lisanna and Meldy's intentions to get her to try a date with Natsu...
But at the end of the day, Juvia only realized the outing was a "date" after it was nearing its end. Despite the high class restaurant, going to a nighttime festival, doing whatever Juvia was up for... Juvia just took it all as Natsu trying to cheer her up. When she realized it was a date, Juvia was certainly revolted at first, that she enjoyed herself with someone other than Gray-sama...
Tumblr media
... But after all this time with Natsu, Juvia knows he never meant any ill will. Natsu knows her feelings for Gray are strong, and he's not trying to erase them out of spite. He's helping out because even the Stripper is concerned for Juvia, that Lisanna and Meldy are worried for her, and they all just want Juvia to be happy.
Tumblr media
It's still a bitter pill to swallow, to just give up on Gray after all this time... But Natsu-kun has always been there, as have Lisanna and Meldy. They've been great friends... And Juvia supposes she can learn to love Natsu more "properly". (๑╹ω╹๑ ) For Natsu's part... He never has to complain about Juvia being "fired up" for jobs or much of anything. Their mutual passion for life bounces off each other quite nicely~... Yes. This couple has all the good vibes. \(๑╹ω╹๑ )/

Team up
Rogue panicked as he realized that Frosch's scent had grown stale. Trying to keep calm, he looked for Sting. He was probably still talking to Natsu's team, which had dropped by for a visit. Rogue bristled when he saw Gray was still there. He had had no reason to believe he wouldn't be, but it annoyed him nonetheless. Gray had a habit of trying to smuggle Frosch out of the guild, and though everyone insisted Gray had every intention of bringing her back, Rogue didn't have their confidence. It wasn't that he particularly distrusted Gray, more that he was concerned with Frosch's self preservation skills, or lack thereof.
"Have you guys seen Frosch? She was with Lector the last time I saw her, but she's gone." Rogue tried to keep any accusatory undertones out of his voice.
"Frosch is gone? Are you sure you checked everywhere?" Gray asked before Sting could answer.
"I'd be able to smell her if she was here!" Rogue hissed insistently. "I wanted to ask if you guys saw her before I panicked."
"Alright Rogue, calm down. We'll look for her. You guys don't mind helping out, do you?" Sting directed his question to Natsu's team.
"Sure man, I'll take Luce, Wendy can go with Erza, you go with Yukino. I guess that leaves Rogue and Gray." Natsu agreed quickly. Were Rogue not panicking, he would have questioned it.
Gray, however, did notice, but didn't comment on it. Clearly, if they were scheming to make him and Rogue, that meant Frosch was probably safe. He'd let Rogue know once they were out of earshot.
"Okay Rogue, let's go. Where's Frosch most likely to go?" Gray asked.
"The park. There's a pond with all these cool frogs." Rogue said after thinking for moment.
Unsurprisingly, Frosch was not at the park. Rogue seemed to be thinking up the next most likely location, but Gray stopped him.
"Hey, Rogue? Now that the others can't hear us, I've got to tell you something." Rogue looked up, apprehensive. "I'm pretty sure this is a set-up so we'll get along, so Frosch is probably safe, wherever she is."
"By who? Who would do that? Why?" Rogue uttered.
"Our teams, probably. Natsu was awfully quick to team us up, and Sting agreed on the spot. Isn't that suspicious?"
"Come to think of it, it was pretty strange. Those bastards! How could they do that to Frosch?" Rogue exclaimed.
"I understand that you're mad, it's a crappy thing to do to you. To both of you. But I think the only way to make sure it doesn't happen again is to play along." Gray suggested. He didn't dislike Rogue, but his protectiveness of Frosch, though understandable, was making him hard to get along with since he'd apparently decided Gray was a threat of some kind. If Gray could dispel that illusion, he thought the two of them would get along. "Now that we know Frosch is safe, we should kill some time so that they think we bought it. Then we meet up with the others at the guild and pretend to get along and they'll give Frosch back. Sound good?"
"Alright. Then what do we do? Do we pretend to look for Frosch?" Rogue asked.
"That's an option, if they're watching us. But you'd hear them if they were, so I don't think we need to. We can just sit back and find somewhere cool to relax for a couple of hours." Gray felt that even if the others had realized that they'd seen through them, they wouldn't interfere if it looked like he and Rogue were getting along.
"That makes sense but ...um, well ...your clothes." Gray realized that he was wearing his underwear and little else.
"When did that happen? Guess it's getting too hot here. Do you want to get some ice-cream? I'll pay." Gray deflected, rapidly picking up his clothes. Dragonslayers liked food. Rogue seemed to be no exception, as he agreed without hesitation. Gray felt a surge of worry for his wallet, but let it go. Rogue probably wasn't over the trick their teams had pulled on him, he deserved a treat.
Surprisingly enough Rogue hadn't gone overboard spending Gray's money, a concept even Wendy and Lucy struggled with. He had chosen a combination of mint-chocolate-chip, white chocolate and chocolate ice-cream in a portion that wouldn't cover the ice-cream man's entire retirement fund. Gray had chosen a mix of of mint-choc-chip and coffee.
"Don't worry. I'm freezing everyone's fridges solid for this." Gray said. Rogue chuckled, and Gray realized he had dimples. He took another bit of his ice-cream instead of thinking about it.
"Please tell me that includes Sting and Yukino. I'll let you into their apartment." Rogue offered mischievously. Gray decided not to remind him that he could duplicate their keys with his magic.
"Tonight?" He asked instead. Rogue nodded.
When they had finished their ice-cream, they went back to the park, as Rogue had offered to show Gray around town. At the pond Rogue pointed out the different species of frogs that lived there, looking far more open and excited than Gray had ever seen him. Gray had never known frogs could be so fascinating, not that he remembered most of what Rogue told him.
Awkwardly, Rogue tried to move on from the pond, a little embarrassed at how he had babbled on about the frogs. The only person that liked frogs as much as he did was Frosch. He had trouble remembering that other people weren't as interested in them. How had Gray managed to get him to let his guard down? Not an hour ago, he had rather disliked Gray, even though he had understood that that dislike was unfounded. To change his mind so quickly...
"Hey, Gray?" Rogue asked hesitantly.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry for being a jerk before. You're actually pretty cool."
"Don't worry about it. I'm not always the most trustworthy either." He didn't want to fully admit that Rogue's worries weren't completly unfounded. Natsu had told him what had happened in the timeline Future Rogue had come from.
Rogue showed Gray around the city. It wasn't really a typical tour. Gray wasn't sure Rogue even knew what a typical tour was supposed to be like, but this was more fun anyway. The tour mostly consisted of Rogue showing Gray the places he thought were cool, like the shaded spot under a bridge, safe from the sun's rays, or the place where the roof of the Gazania University auditorium overlapped with the shadow of a tree, granting them a beautiful view of half the city while staying cool. There was also a bakery that made excellent tiramisu, and an abandoned church in the woods just outside of town. The stained glass windows cast beautiful lights on the stone floors, and they shifted as the breeze outside moved the leaves of the trees outside.
It was probably time they returned to Sabertooth, and though Rogue couldn't wait to see Frosch again, he was sad that his afternoon with Gray was over. But after his past behavior towards Gray, it wasn't like Rogue could just ask...
"Hey Rogue, I had fun, despite the whole trick thing. Do you want to do this again, when our idiot teammates aren't interfering?" Gray asked. Rogue felt his face heat up instantly and mumbled in agreement.
They entered the guildhall together.
"Hey guys! We found Frosch. She was with Minerva!" Sting said, his eye twitching like it usually did when he was hiding something. If he believed his years-long friendship with Rogue or Minerva's involvement would keep him safe from retribution, he had another thing coming. For now, Rogue let him think he'd gotten away with it.
"Frosch! Thank goodness you're safe!" Rogue didn't mention being worried, not wanting Frosch to feel guilty. Gray walked over to his team and smiled at Rogue. As they left, Gray mouthed 'See you at midnight'. Rogue wondered what it would take to get Gray to add Minerva to the revenge list.

The Fairy Tail Fandom is so Powerful
I should first start by saying, Fairy Tail was my first anime other tahn the one episode of AoT that turned me away from anime and the few scenes I watched as a little girl of Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Beyblade. It was the first show I sat down and watched and felt completely moved by with everything going on and it came at a very crucial point in my life. So there I was, roughly 13-14 years old (Almost 10 years for me now) sitting in computer class when I decided to take a "which anime are you quiz". This quiz was going to be my shot at getting into anime again. If I enjoyed it, anime was meant for me and if now, well that was that. So I took the quiz and my answer...was Fairy Tail. I can't tell you how I watched it for the first time, most likely through Netflix or even some other website but I did and I fell in love. It was everything I could ask for and more. The characters- I loved. The story- I loved. The artwork- I loved. It felt like a show made for me.
Now back then Little Deep End here had a small group of friends and shortly after the 3 other girls loved it too. We would always joke about the characters and, well, Gray being naked. It was something we bonded over and expanded out into other manga until eventually... I had to move. The last thing I had gotten from them was a picture of Gray with the words 'naked popsicle' written next to him. Something I kept until around my senior year of high school when I decided to let it go from its prison of my jewelry box.
But there I was, the new girl in school and well it wasn't the worst. I made friends and we bonded over things but I never met anyone with the same passion for this show in person as I once had with my previous friends. Well, that was until I explored Wattpad. Oh boy.
It was on here that I dove into the Fairy Tail community head on. I had already created ocs to join roleplays, with my proudest being Setsuko Rin- who at the time was just another ice mage. I read all the stories about Nalu, Gruvia, Gajevy (I wasn't too much of a Jerza fan but you get the point). It was like a safe haven. I couldn't discuss my passion for Fairy Tail with anyone else but these people but I didn't mind.
This all has a point I promise. Fairy Tail brings out something in its fans that not a lot of fandoms have and I think it has to do with the themes of Fairy Tail. Yes we may feel lonely in person but the guild was somewhere where the least welcomed were welcomed. Those that are outcasts with no friends and those that were the most popular could all come together and talk about how much Fairy Tail changed their lives.
I'm not going to lie and say that Fairy Tail hasn't had its moments in the show and that the community is perfect. However, I will say that you could mention Fairy Tail to any fan and they would welcome you with open arms. I feel like this show teaches a good level of respect and kindness that people aren't used to seeing within fandoms anymore. I can't even tell you how much it warmed my heart to see all the videos standing up for Fairy Tail within the last few years coming out to shut down the negativity it was getting and the people standing up and celebrating its return with 100 Year Quest.
It really goes to show you that a fandom like the Fairy Tail fandom is truly something else. Not to mention Todd Haberkorn being the best voice cast for Natsu there ever could be and same for Cherami Leigh as Lucy. Honestly all those actors both in the US and Japan (as well as the others worldwide) deserve so much praise for growing with us. Even if we shouldn't have been watching some of those scenes that we were at our age.
Anywayssss I just wanted to ramble a bit because this community does warm my heart. But I'll see you all later in the Deep End!!

You pull me in like the moon does the tide |Coralbaird pt.2
○~~~○~~~○
Coral wasn't known for love. She loves her brother. Only him. But then Lucy Gray appears on stage. All throughout the performance, she's flustered. A nervous wreck, her heart beating like a jackrabbit in her chest. Lucy gray likes to look at her a lot, leaving her bashful. Lucy Gray likes to wink a lot, too. She pretends to look unbothered, though. Taping her foot along with the beat because it is still a great song. Sejanus seems to catch on, though, but one dirty look from Coral shuts him up before he could say anything. With a huff she turns back to the Covey. Lucy Gray's twirling around, causing the feathers on her dress to fly up.
The redhead smiles at this. Lucy Gray seems so carefree and full of life, it's impossible not to envy that. The show soon comes to a stop, but just on break, Lucy Gray reassures the whining crowd. The covey gets off the stage and soem jazz band takes their place. They're no where as interesting as the Covey to Coral turns her attention to where the men sitting. "So? What did you think?" Coriolanus asked, sipping on his drink. Coral tucked her chin in and smiled. "It was great, really." She said, twirling her drink. The blonde laughs.
"Lucy Gray seemed to have taken a liking of you, do you wanna meet her?" Once again, Coriolanus has seemed to take her by surprise. "What?" She squawked. They laughed that her. "I'm sure she'll want to, Coral. Lucy gray likes meeting her fans." Sejanus says soothingly. "W-well... I'm not to sure." She mutters. Lord above, she wants to meet Lucy Gray. She really, really wants to. Who wouldn't? Who in the right mind would turn down such an offer? She sighs. "You know what? Fine. I would like to meet her, actually." Coriolanus smiles at her. "Wonderful! I'll go find her." And with that, he's up. Coral blinks at Sejanus. He just smiles at her. "What?" She questions, her eyebrow raised in slight annoyance.
"Nothing, nothing. You'll just like her a lot, trust me." He says dismissively. Coral hums with pursed lips. It takes a whole five minutes, and during that time Coral found herself at the bar in the back. Coriolanus finds her, well, she finds him, with her bright blonde hair, and following close by him is Lucy Gray. Gods, she was even prettier up close. "Coral, this is Lucy gray. Lucy gray, this is Coral." He says.
Lucy gray had the brightest grin on her face. "Hi darlin', y'enjoy the show?" She says, sticking out a hand for Coral to shake. "Very much so," Coral takes it, and with no second thought, leans down to kiss it. Because she's a gentleman.
Oh dear God, why did she do that?
Lucy Gray giggles and slips her hand out of Coral's after a few moments of lingering. "Why, what a gentle woman y'are." She teases, her eyes filling woth a playful glint. If Coral didn't know any better, she would have said Lucy Gray's checks were a light shade of red. Coral chuckles, tucking her chin becuase she is most certain her cheeks are red. "Eh, I was told to be." She plays it off as smoothly as she could. Coriolanus- he was gone. When did he leave?
"So," Lucy Gray drawls after a moment. "Coryo told me 'bout how he got ya in, ya mus' be pretty special darlin'." She says, a smile playing on her pretty red lips. Coral coughs a laugh. "Well I wouldn't know 'bout being special, but for your pretty face I'll agree." She shrugs. Now is not the time for flirting, Coral. Lucy Gray giggles. "Oh what a charmer y'are." Lucy Gray teases, a playful glint in her eyes. Coral laughs lightly, tipping her drink at her. "Just saying the truth."
"Awe~ Why thank you, darlin'. It's a nice new light for me to get compliments from a woman." Lucy Gray says, her blush making itself more prominent. They were quiet for the next few moments, other than Lucy Gray ordering her drink. Coral insisted on paying for it, even though she was pretty low on cash. They watch the crowd for a moment. "So, Coral? Where d'ya work?" Lucy Gray asks over the rim of her glass. "Down by the docks. Sometimes I unload cargo, other times I'm on the boat." Lucy Gray hums. "That mus' be why y'seem pretty strong for a woman." She observes, eyeing the redhead's arms. Coral is pretty sure her face is about as red as her hair.
"Yeah. It is." She responds, flustered under Lucy Gray's gaze. They rall slient once again, when Lucy Gray perks up at the beginning of a new song. "Ooh! I love this one!" She sets her drink down and offers coral a hand. "Dance with me?" She asks with a bright grin, her eyes gleaming with excitement that made her look like a kid in a candy store. And to that, Coral could never say no. "Of course." She sets her drink down as well, right next to Lucy Gray's, and pulls her to the dance floor.
Endless dancing, twirls and dips, drinks that Coriolanus and Sejanus bought for all of them because apparently they were rich all this time, and laughs all night long. Secret glances at Lucy Gray while no one looked. Lucy Gray's bubbly attitude rubbed off on her. And to top it all off, Lucy Gray and covey performs once more, with Lucy Gray staring deep into her eyes all through out the songs, never looking away.
And she never wants to look away either.

Lucy x Levy; Levy listening to Lucy's heartbeat as she rewrites the Book of E.N.D, E.N.D marking spreading to Lucy's heart as she does so.
This is a oneshot that takes place when Lucy is rewriting the Book of E.N.D. and instead of Gray being there, it's Levy. This is also if Lucy wasn't actually fine in the end.
WARNING: DEATH!
This is the END (Levy x Lucy)
Levy sat next to her girlfriend, watching with widened eyes as blood-red runes surrounded them, struggling to make out what they said. She noticed Lucy moving next to her and looked over to see that she had picked up the feathered quill and was holding it up. The blue-haired woman muttered, "what are you doing?"
Before she could get an answer, she watched as Lucy whimpered, her eyes seeming to be fixed on something in front of her that only she could see. What appeared to be flowing lava overtook her hand and ran down the blonde's arm, like veins, reaching her neck and the side of her face.
Happy, from his place beside Levy, spoke, "something's...happening to her."
Just then Lucy's body began trembling and her whimpers turned into pained gasps. Levy hesitantly reached for her girlfriend, her heart twisting within her chest at the obvious pain the blonde was in. Just before her fingers could even ghost her girlfriend's skin, Lucy dropped the quill and doubled over, her arms wrapped around herself. Levy and Happy both gasped in horror as the celestial wizard began screaming in agony, tears trickling down her face.
"Lucy!" Levy and Happy both exclaimed.
Levy reached for her girlfriend's shoulder, muttering, "Lucy? Are you okay?" It was a stupid question. Clearly, she wasn't okay, but it was the only thing that she could think of to say.
The blue-haired woman retracted her hand the instant it made contact with the other woman's shoulder, reflexively yelping, "ow!"
After several moments of pained gasps and trembling, Lucy uttered, "something inside me...is burning." She then choked on a cry.
Levy felt tears burn her eyes at the sight, however, she quickly wiped them away. She wasn't going to cry. Not when her girlfriend was seeming to be burning alive. Crying won't do any good, she told herself.
It was Happy who spoke next, "Natsu's fire..."
Levy finished the thought, "his fire as a demon..."
She watched as Lucy moved her infected hand to rest over one eye as she struggled to sit straight and managed to say, "but I can use this...as a clue..." The blonde then looked back at the red runes, which seemed to have smoke rising off of them. Levy looked too, but quickly moved her gaze back to her girlfriend when she heard her continue, "if I follow this magic power..." Her gaze dropped as she gasped out, "I might..."
Happy took up so that she wouldn't have to finish, "you might be able to rewrite the demon inside Natsu."
Levy gasped at that. Tears welled up in her eyes again. She felt the urge to try and convince her girlfriend to not do it, however, she was able to hold herself back, if just barely. She knew that she couldn't convince Lucy to not do something that she had already decided to do, especially at a time like this, when Natsu's own life was on the line.
Happy finished, "but if you do that, you'll..."
Lucy murmured, "I'll be fine..."
That was a lie, Levy knew that it was. Her stomach turned and she felt nauseous and her chest ached, feeling as though she had been stabbed through the heart, and yet was somehow still alive and capable of feeling everything. Her dark eyes burned with tears that were now falling freely. The blue-haired woman watched, feeling helpless, as her girlfriend somehow managed to push through the pain and picked up the quill again before raising it once more and beginning to write.
Levy felt frozen, her body refusing to do anything, although, that might have been a good thing since there seemed to be very little that she could do. Her dark, tear-filled eyes were locked on Lucy's trembling body. She felt helpless and her mind was jumbled with thoughts that she was unable to make sense of, and wasn't able to even begin to make sense of them. Racing through her mind were worries about what was to happen to her girlfriend, as well as pained thoughts about how much pain her girlfriend was in.
Feeling like she was on autopilot, the blue-haired woman crawled around Lucy to sit in front of her before she leaned forward to rest her ear against the blonde's chest. The side of her face burned painfully, nonetheless, she remained, sharing in at least a fraction of the pain that her girlfriend was feeling. She closed her eyes as she let the sound of Lucy's heartbeat reach her searing ear.
Before this conflict with Zeref and his henchmen began, she and Lucy would spend night after night cuddled together. It was Lucy's steady heartbeat that would lull Levy to sleep every night, her head resting on the blonde's chest just like now. Tears flowed down her face at an increased rate as Levy noticed that her girlfriend's heartbeat was no longer steady and serene, but instead was slowing at an alarming speed as the minutes passed. She knew that the curse was inching closer to the blonde's heart.
The blue-haired woman pressed the side of her face into her girlfriend's chest even more, silently urging her heart to pick up speed and return to normal. A hopeless wish, she knew. She remembered the many dates that they had gone on, not caring about any past events and not thinking that anything could come along and ruin their lives. She mourned the dates that they hadn't been able to go on and the wedding that they both desperately wanted to have.
But most of all, she mourned the woman who she was going to lose.
She didn't move, or even open her eyes, until she felt Lucy lean against her. She opened her eyes, but didn't pull away. Then, hesitantly, she raised a hand to touch Lucy's bare skin, quickly noticing that her girlfriend wasn't as burning hot as she was before.
Levy instantly pulled away and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. Looking at Lucy's face, she found that her eyelids were nearly closed and she wasn't moving. The blue-haired woman gently laid Lucy on her back and stared down at her, one hand under her head and the other resting on her stomach.
She silently stared down at her seemingly lifeless girlfriend, begging her to wake up and be okay. She whispered, "Lucy?" Her tears dripped off of her face onto Lucy's, making it appear that Lucy too was crying. Levy brought her hand up from Lucy's stomach to wipe the tears away from her girlfriend's pale face. She unconsciously held her breath as she waited for any indication that the blonde in her arms was still alive.
After several moments, Lucy groaned as she opened her eyes with some difficulty. The blonde's brown eyes quickly found Levy's own dark ones. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out except for almost inaudible sounds. Levy quickly shushed her, whispering, "you don't have to say anything." Her tears became heavier as she realized that she was facing her girlfriend's death. She turned her head away as a choked sob escaped her.
A hand then weakly rose and rested on her cheek, bringing her eyes back to the blonde who was laying on the ground. Lucy smiled at her. She then opened her mouth again, this time managing to say, if with some struggle, "p-please stop...crying...I-I'm s-sorry that...we c-couldn't get m-married." She then took a deep breath before she finished, "I-I love you...Levy."
With that, Lucy's eyes closed and her hand dropped to the ground. Panicked and desperate, Levy cupped her girlfriend's face as she screamed, "don't go! Don't you dare leave me! Lucy! You can't die! You can't leave us! You can't leave me!"
When she felt a small, furry paw rest on her side, she looked over to see Happy next to her. His eyes were locked on Lucy's lifeless body as tears streamed down his face and he muttered, "she's gone." It sounded as though he couldn't believe it himself.
Levy looked back down at Lucy. She wrapped her arms around the dead blonde and pulled her to her chest. She took a deep, raspy breath before she began to wail, screaming out in agony before she quickly quieted and sobbed to herself, her face buried in Lucy's blonde hair.

next part
Tumblr media
"Wait! Wait! I'm here!" You call out, urging the line of mentors and tributes to wait for you before they enter the arena, running up from your father's town car with a notebook and pencil in hand.
Coriolanus was simultaneously annoyed by your arrival, delayed or not, considering he didn't expect you, and also part of him was relieved to have you at his side. Entering the arena himself was a daunting task, now that he knows that the mentors are far from safe from harm in this situation.
You're slightly out of breath as you catch up to him and Lucy Gray, panting as you adjust your bag where it sits over your shoulder. "Sorry, I'm late." You breathe out, smoothing down your hair.
"Why are you even here, Y/L/N?" Felix asks, turning from his spot in front of you to look.
"Mind your own, for once." You spit, returning your attention to Coryo and Lucy Gray. "Hey, where's Clem?"
Coryo shakes his head slightly as the line starts to move forward. "I'll explain later." He answers vaguely. You're confused, sure, but you did have bigger things to worry about. He was right. You brought your notebook to take notes on the layout, potential hiding spots, and potential advantages that Lucy Gray could exploit in the games.
"Enjoy the show!" You hear the echo from the speakers as every duo enters the arena, and you cringe.
"That's dark." You mutter to yourself, taking in your surroundings in the tunnel before being among the last few to enter. The first thing you notice is that the arena is bigger in person than on the screen, you hadn't been inside since you were a toddler- before the war. You try and pick your family's box along the top, but it's no use. You don't even have the slightest memory of this place before the games.
The next thing you notice is Lucy Gray holding onto Coryo's hand as the door slams shut behind you and the windows slide open above you. You grip your pencil tighter in your palm and look down, attempting to scribble down a layout on the page in front of you as you regain a light source. You have one job, and you'll be damned if you don't do it. For now, your best shot at earning Dr. Gaul's favour is giving Lucy Gray an advantage due only to her surroundings. Making her play the game.
"Okay, so, options are limited but I think we just need to have a good look around. There ought to be a good hiding spot around here." You say, clocking how quickly the girl drops his hand.
Focus is a priority, unfortunately, her comfort will have to come second. She'll have time for comfort once you can get her out of this arena and back to Twelve.
"What do you need, Coriolanus?" You ask, noticing he seemingly zoned out taking in his surroundings.
He tries to process what you're asking of him, but just ends up giving you a blank stare as you tilt your head, looking up at the tall boy. "I beg your pardon?" He asks, clearly having not heard a word you said.
"What do you need me to do?" You ask again.
"Well," He starts, and both of you notice at the same time that other tributes are talking and realize that alliances are being built. "Go... do that. Talk to Lysistrata." He instructs and you nod, walking quickly toward where is standing trying to talk to a confused-looking Jessup.
"Lyssie." You grin, flipping to a fresh page of your notebook.
"Y/N, hi." She says, clearly focussed in on trying to get him to pay attention to her.
"Is he okay?" You ask, feigning worry. Well, if this is Lucy Gray's only option for an ally, her odds are not looking good. That was genuinely worrying.
"I don't know..." Your classmate answers, reaching up to point out a wound on his neck. "He's got this bite... I think it could be infected. Your father is a doctor, what do you think?"
"Can you get him anything to help?" You ask, getting closer to take a better look. It does look infected, and you're unsure what it could be. You raise your hand to touch his forehead in search of a fever, but you suspect you will find one considering he is already delirious.
"Y/N!" You hear your name being called and you turn, seeing Coriolanus gesturing for you to back up.
You sigh to yourself and drop your hand, taking a step back. "I would bring him something but I don't know what would help." Lyssie sighs.
"If you can get him to agree to be an ally to Lucy Gray, I can bring antibiotics. Something strong. I'll discuss it with my father, see what he recommends." You offer, hoping to buy her a friend in the arena.
"I'll try my best." She nods. "They've been close, I can't see why not."
"I'll bring him something tonight then." You nod, patting her on the shoulder before continuing on your path of selling Lucy Gray as an ally.
You look around the large room again, looking for whoever would be her best option, and whoever of your classmates would even agree to speak with you. Sejanus- of course.
You tuck your papers under your arm as you walk over to him and Marcus. You can quickly see they aren't on any kind of speaking terms, standing awkwardly together on the opposite side of the center. "Sejanus!" You call out, and he's visibly relieved to see that someone wants to talk to him.
"Y/N." He smiles sadly, which you try and return. Empathy has never been your strong suit, but with Sejanus, you always try your best.
"I'm hoping to negotiate the terms of an alliance between Marcus and Lucy Gray." You explain and he nods, clearly unsure what to do. It would be harder to buy their allegiance, seeing as his family had more influence than yours- after all being the namesake of the prize you had dreamt of for years, and Marcus clearly has more of a physical advantage in the games than Lucy Gray.
"Uh, Marcus?" Sejanus asks, looking over at his tribute, who is blatantly ignoring the two of you. "What do you think? What would you like to do?" You admire his consideration, it must be draining when Marcus clearly couldn't care less.
"Lucy Gray would not be a threat to you. If you would take the care to look at either of us directly I would be able to promise you that." You say, taking a different approach that also doesn't work. You sigh, shrugging as you look over at your friend.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. Thank you for trying." He tries to smile and you just nod, trying to figure out who you'll ask next.
Then, your eyes land on Clemensia's tribute, alone. He looks strong, definitely the most obvious threat. Having him as an ally definitely wouldn't hurt. While it would be ideal to discuss this with Clem, your options and time is limited. He's standing nearby, just staring at one of the flags on the wall.
"It's Reaper, correct?" You ask to grab his attention, walking toward him. He spares you a glance over his shoulder, then huffs and turns away. "I have an offer for you, and I believe it's in your best interest to listen."
He doesn't look again, but you step in front of him so he has little to no choice.
"In the case that you win, which," You scoff, looking around at the other tributes, "looks quite likely, I will send you home with enough money in your pocket to feed you and your family for a year if you agree to at the very least not harm Lucy Gray in the games. And if you help her, the deal will be sweeter." You state, crossing your arms over your chest.
Before he has the chance to respond, not that he was going to anyway, you're being grabbed by the arm and pulled away quickly, making you stumble over your feet. "I told you to keep your distance. Not once, but twice." Coriolanus scolds you, pulling you back toward Lucy Gray, who you can see by now has been crying.
"You told me to talk to people! I'm trying to help Lucy Gray-"
"No, I told you to talk to Lysistrata." He corrects, dropping your arm and turning to face you. All he can see is Reaper threatening to kill him right in the back of the transport truck on the way to the zoo. Reaper was dangerous- how could you be so stupid? "You are making this so much more difficult than it already is."
You clench your teeth together, clutching your notepad to your chest now. "If you stopped thinking I'm so fragile you would see that I am helping. Don't worry about me- worry about Lucy Gray." You say after a moment of thought.
Coryo exhales heavily, looking around to see who was paying attention to the two of you fighting. The echo in this arena was not doing anything to help. "I didn't mean-"
He doesn't get the chance to articulate his thoughts before there's a loud bang, making you jump and rapidly search for the source of the noise as dust falls over the room. Then another explosion, then another, and by the way the light is disappearing in a circular pattern you can tell the arena is being bombed.
Your ears are ringing and you're now kneeling on the ground, the force of the blasts having knocked you down. You try and get up, try to make a run for the exit, only to feel an impact on your side, throwing you back to the ground a few feet away and you blackout from the hit of your head onto the dusty cement.
"There she is..." You hear your father's voice as you open your eyes slowly, blinking at the warm lighting above you. "Enough is enough." He says, and you feel a pain in your hand as he removes an IV from under your skin.
You look up at him, trying to shake off the confusion as you sit up. "Just a concussion. You were out for a few hours, if you experience any amnesia symptoms let me know, but I do doubt that will be the case."
You rub your eyes with shakey hands, nodding a little bit as your dad steps away to leave your room, where you are lying in your own bed. "Dad..." You mumble, voice hardly there.
He stops, looking at you and waiting for you to continue as you attempt to clear your throat. "Is Coryo okay?"
"I just got back from the hospital tending to everyone. Two students died, and five tributes. Coriolanus received extensive burns and bruising, but nothing was broken. He will be fine in a few days." He affirms.
"And Lucy Gray?"
"She is alive, the tributes who didn't escape or die were returned to the zoo. A vet is attending to them, I know nothing about it." He says, already on his way out of the door.
You sigh in slight relief, pushing yourself up fully to try and get moving again. Your whole body is stiff and sore, but you push through. You have a lot to do.
Thankful for your father's home stash of medications, luckily including morphing, you were able to gather medical supplies and get your driver to take you to the zoo. You would visit Coryo later, but you know he would want you to see to Lucy Gray, and so you shall.
As you arrive, you see no such vet in sight, the surviving tributes scattered around the cage, mostly either passed out or attempting to tend to their own injuries. This could be good for Lucy Gray, who looks mostly unharmed.
"Lucy Gray." You say, motioning for her to come over to the bars. She looks over Jessup laying against a rock next to her, whispering something to him before joining you quickly, grabbing the bars between you.
"is Coriolanus okay?" This is her first question, which you honestly did not expect.
Though you were taken aback by this, you nod. "Yes. My father said he'll be fine, I haven't been to see him yet." You explain, crouching down to dig through your bag for your makeshift medical kit of stolen supplies.
"What do you need?" You ask, searching already for the antibiotics you grabbed for Jessup.
"I'm fine." She insists, which you only confirm when you look her over. "Just a couple bruises, I live to sing another day."
You smile a little bit, relieved to see your tribute is at least in a better state than most of the others. "Good. I'm glad to hear it."
"Do you think Coriolanus will be back on his feet soon?" She asks, clearly very worried about him.
"I don't know." You answer honestly. "It's a good thing you have me."
"It is..." She thinks for a moment. "He said he would try and get me a guitar. For my interview, He wants me to sing."
"I'll make sure you have one." You nod. As much as you hope he'd be up and moving by the time the interviews come around in a couple of days, you know you have a guitar sitting in your brothers room that Coryo would likely ask you to borrow anyway. "This is for Jessup, I talked to his mentor, I think this should help." You tell her, grabbing the pot of topical antibiotics you took from your cupboard at home and handing it to her.
Lucy Gray nods, taking it and opening the steel lid, her first urge being to smell the cream inside. "Get him to apply it morning and night, be generous with it." You explain, grabbing some bandages as well to accompany it.
"You've got a full apothecary in that bag, huh?" Lucy Gray comments, straining her head to try and look inside.
"My father is a doctor." You explain, keeping it brief. "Don't share it with anyone else. Their injuries and ailments are to your benefit. Do you understand?"
Lucy Gray just nods solemnly, looking back at the tributes around her. "I understand." She answers, but she doesn't seem so sure. "You know, he pushed you clean out of the way."
"Sorry?" You ask, brows furrowed as you close your bag, having grabbed out the small paper bag of food for her.
"Coriolanus." She clarifies. "He saved your life, I reckon."
"Oh." Is all you can manage, pulling your bag back to his place over your shoulder. You clear your throat again, the remnants of dust and dirt still affecting your voice. "Well, I owe him a thank you I suppose. I'm off to check on him now."
"Tell him I send my love, won't you? I was awfully worried."
"I will." You mumble, making an effort to not be aggressive with how you shove the bag of food into her hands before walking off.
Your next stop is the hospital. The pit in your stomach tells you that despite your confirmation that Coryo would be fine, you're still worried as to what state he will be in when you arrive. Is he awake? Will he remember a thing? Did he really save you only to face worse injuries himself?
You're escorted to his bedside when you arrive, a small room in emergency seperated only by curtains. Tigris is sitting next to him stroking his hair gently, and he is seemingly sleeping- or still out cold. It's chillingly difficult to tell. You clear your throat to notify her of your presence, and she quickly stands when she sees you.
"Y/N." She greets you with a hug, gently rubbing your back. "Are you alright? You were there, weren't you?"
"I was." You nod slightly as you pull away, eyes once again trained on your friend. "My father brought me home to be treated there. Is he asleep?"
"Yes, just sleeping. He woke for a few moments about an hour ago, but I think he's just exhausted. Couldn't keep his eyes open for more than a minute..." She sighs, looking him over as well. She's worried, of course.
You nod, chewing on your lip. "Well, I can't stay for long, but I wanted to bring these to him." You say, once again reaching into your bag and pulling out a container of food containing some fruit and cookies. You hold it out to her, and her eyes widen for just a moment. "I'm sure he'll be starving when he wakes up, and the food here is atrocious." You try and ease her panic with a joke.
This works and she nods, accepting it quietly. "I know it's a lot for one person, but I figured you or your grandmother would be here with him. I brought enough to share." You add, implying that she is more than welcome to it too.
"Thank you, Y/N. Thats very kind, I didn't have the chance to grab anything on my way- I came straight from work." Tigris makes up an excuse, and you just nod.
"He asked about you, you know." She whispers, panic now completely replaced with a small smile. "When he woke up. You were his first concern."
You try to ignore the pit in your stomach growing and shifting as she speaks, a flush forming over your chest and face. "Well, apparently he saved me. Would have been an awful waste if that had been for nothing." You deflect, forming it as a joke.
"You are his best friend. You know that, right?" Tigris asks you quietly.
That's unfortunate, you want to laugh, but it would definitely come off as either rude or self deprecating, so you come up with something else. "Coryo means a great deal to me, as well."
Tigris tilts her head slightly, making it more difficult to maintain a straight face. "I must be going, but if he wakes again will you tell him I'm taking care of Lucy Gray?" You change the subject and she nods.
"Yes, of course. Thank you for coming, Y/N." She says again, and you spare Coryo another look over before leaving.

So, I got forced into a sprint by @rougescribe and the result is this little garbage dump here. I was also drinking and cackling, but let's not talk about that
No idea if I'll ever get around to finishing it, or if it's even anything. Tumblr exclusive until those questions are answered. Completely unedited, so ignore the cringe. But here you go:
Title (I guess?): Just Add Fire Fandom: Fairy Tail Characters: Natsu, Lucy, Gray Words: Like 700 I think
.
.
.
Lucy Heartfilia had regretted her decision the moment she stepped foot on the hard-packed soil. Even though she had been warned of the dangers and terror of war by her parents, she had been bound and determined to join the fight against the Alvarez Empire. The war had been waging for nearly a decade. As soon as she had turned eighteen, she joined the ranks and was quick to be deployed to the front lines.
The sound of planes flying low overhead nearly drew her attention away from the smoking landscape in front of her that would serve as her home for the next eighteen months - less if they were able to turn the tides. She had followed news of the war closely from the comfort of home, and it seemed that every time they took two steps forward, they took one step back. The king of Ishgar always managed to out-wit them - whether that be in strategy or pure strength. Their own strategist, Mavis Vermillion, had been hidden away in a tent somewhere behind their safety lines, trying with little success to bring them victory.
It was almost as if Ishgar and Fiore were two sides of the same coin.
“Get down!” Gray Fullbuster shouted, just before slamming his body over Lucy’s and planting her in the dirt. Gunfire erupted just where she had been standing, and then suddenly silenced, the shooter taken down by one of their comrades.
As soon as it appeared safe to do so, Gray lifted himself up and allowed Lucy to get her bearings. She turned her gaze away from indigo eyes to where the enemy stood. Her lip trembled, her hands shaking around the rifle she gripped so tightly her knuckles turned white. War… no matter how much she had prepared herself for it, no matter how much she researched and listened, it was like nothing she could have ever imagined.
“Some fucking way to spend a Tuesday,” Gray shouted over the roar of gunfire, hoisting his own rifle up and firing off a few rounds. “I should be at the strip club!”
Lucy’s lips pulled into a small smile. She and Gray had entered the service together, had gone through boot camp, and had found a strange friendship between them. He never failed to calm her nerves. She needed him now more than ever.
“You’d be the star of the show,” she shouted back at him, memories of his streaking habits coming to mind.
He laughed, a welcoming sound amidst the chaos. “Yeah, Juvia would love that.”
In the pandemonium that made up the battlefield, a few soldiers managed to sneak by the line. Movement caught Lucy’s eyes and she swung her rifle to the left, just in time to see a member of Ishgar’s elite squad smiling back at her. He didn’t speak, didn’t introduce himself, just simply raised his gun and put his finger on the trigger.
A blast of heat and an explosion suddenly overtook Lucy’s vision. The blast threw her back, her arms coming up to protect her face from the heat, and she landed on her tailbone with a hard thud. A scream tore itself from her throat. Adrenaline pumping through her veins, she quickly regained her bearings, and looked to see where her enemy had once stood.
Instead of an elite soldier, all that remained was charred remnants and a circular pattern of an explosion. Maniacal laughter drew her eyes to her right to see their well-represented pyromaniac.
“Take that, you bastard!” Natsu Dragneel cackled as he skipped over to where Lucy stood. “How’s that, Luce? Didn’t even see it coming!”
“Natsu!” she screeched. “You nearly gave me a heart attack! What were you thinking?!”
He shrugged, giving her a wide grin. “I brightened up his day!”
Lucy pointed in the direction of where her enemy once stood. “You threw a bomb at him!”
Natsu's onyx eyes followed where her finger pointed to, scratching his chin sheepishly. He shrugged with a grin. “Bombs always brighten up your day. Your day just gets shorter.”

Hey have another meta on Gray & Natsu because I don't think I went deep enough.
Gray is traumatized and can't even voice his emotions sometimes. Natsu understands him WITHOUT any issues even during this time.
Don't believe me? Here look at this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natsu knows Gray just basically said:
" I care about you please take care of yourself "
I'm so emotional about these two because they are great and they understand each other on a deeper wavelength than I have ever seen within Fairy Tail.
I'll throw in multiple examples for you to compare but please come up with your own. Rewatch the show or Read the manga if you want to, there's so many examples that I cannot fit into one post so I have to suffer with a few. (Not including Happy has I think it's best to put people that aren't his kid,,,,)
First up: Lisanna.
I'm not hating on the ship at all. I'm picking people CLOSEST to Natsu & Gray. And she was essentially close to Natsu before her death. They raised Happy together and had a secret hideout for fucks sake.
Lisanna has I recall from the episodes we had of her, was close with Natsu. But something changed. Because her death hurt Natsu and changed him into a different person. That's clear to see. But her death drove a wedge between them and changed the entire relationship for good.
Lisanna was Natsu's friend, back before her death but however I believe that we do not know much of her outside of her death and how it affected Fairy Tail. We also do know about her Family and how it hurt them. But not about Lisanna, from what we can gather from the many episodes of Fairy Tail she is kind hearted and genuinely loves her family and doesn't want to lose them again. (Her reactions to her siblings being thrown into danger.)
But again her death drove fear and grief into Natsu and that's why him and Lisanna aren't exactly close anymore, because Natsu runs from his feelings. It's also hard to talk to someone you haven't seen since you where a teenager.
Up next who is/was close with Gray: Erza. We know Gray ran after her and helped to fix her tears, even making a child's promise about it. We also know, Gray was Erza's first real friend. Gray has a child was close with Erza in that regard. I do believe Erza shoved him away like she does with everything in response to what happened to her. (But that's a post for another time.)
Gray is still close with Erza, but due to Erza never feeling as if she can stop being Titania he is not as close to her as he is Natsu.
Lucy, who is one of Natsu's best friends, is actually close with Natsu. But unlike with Gray Natsu usually is (Ignoring Mashima's horrible writting between for now because that's a WHOLE OTHER issue) saving her or protecting her. At least it was like that until recently when Lucy finally got the character development and upgrade she deserves.
Lucy is close to Natsu but Natsu also doesn't want to lean on her. Yes you can qoute multiple instances and scenes where it appears he is leaning on her. But however with this you have to take into account the period of time Natsu has known her. The trust issues Natsu already has and previous trauma he has gotten and even new trauma!
Now it gets worse because this is dipping a little into Mashima's terrible characterization and understanding of how people function and feel. Especially women. Take Lisanna and Lucy, if you think about it they are essentially the same fucking character. Both are kind, stubborn, where hurt by someone they love, left their home behind for a number of years, painted has a badass while also simultaneously being soft and delicate.
Sound familar?
Because that's basically the Mashima guide to write a female character. Now what really gets me is the final thing that really cements it. They both have been/are in the supporting role for Natsu. Don't you dare go saying: But Lucy is the main character!
You, like the rest of is because Mashima wrote her like shit, didn't even know that until the interview or you saw that Fairy Tail fact post. The majority of us thought it was Natsu. Because in reality Mashima did NOT start writting her like a main character. He did not give her the good motivation every single damn Fairy Tail Character has.
Lucy & Lisanna have the same number of things that make up their characterization, and yes so do a number of Fairy Tail characters. But that's not the point. The point is that Lucy reminds Natsu of Lisanna in some ways and Natsu cannot bring himself to trust and lean on her fully like he can with Gray. It is not an attack on Nalu. Nalu is a fine ship if only written correctly (aka: Not Mashima's Version Which Is Horrible And Toxic But That's Another Meta For Another Time.).
This is a post about how Gray and Natsu are close. That's it. Natsu cannot bring himself to fully trust Lucy and lean on her comfortably without 1) forcing himself, 2) it happening outside of his control because of past trauma which by the way knowing Natsu he did not do anything about it and most likely bottled it up.
Wow that was a long session on Lucy but in summary: Natsu is traumatized and is not mentally healthy like the entirety of the Guild.
Now, the last one, which I'm sure you can GUESS. It's Juvia. Because some people think that Gray and Juvia are the " closest people! " And " he doesn't let anyone really touch him other than her! "
1) Bullshit. And 2) Bullshit. Here's why:
Juvia is a toxic character who stalks and uncomfortably idolizes Gray to the point it's fucking ridiculous. There are multiple scenes of her following (stalking) Gray around and being jealous of Lucy. Even declaring her a " Love Rival ".
This is probably because: Gray was the first person that was decent to her. (She was bullied for who knows how long and involved in a toxic guild + an abusive relationship.) Before you say shit about Gajeel: He's not nice. Gajeel before all of this, was an asshole, now he is nice which is pretty cool and a great character development. Back then? He was not nice.
Which brings me to Gray. Who even is okay with being stalked, being grabbed randomly and having someone so obsessed with you they made fucking dolls of you? No one. Before you argue: But he doesn't pull away from her!
Gray is most likely touch starved. Considering his entire background and general tendency to not receive hugs or any sort of affection usually. My evidence for this? Myself. I am touch starved and I often react bad to touches from strangers or creepy people but I also have a late reaction time. Because my body is saying: Oh touch???? And my brain is screaming: No.
He also could be trying to be decent. Which is all he did in the first place. He could be trying to not hurt her feelings and yes you could say he hurt Mira's feelings when he called her stupid for betting on Natsu but he also was apologising and panicky because he didn't want to hurt her.
Also if I even have to explain further why being stalked and basically turned into a fetish and an object is a bad thing then clearly something is fucking wrong with you.
Gray however feels safe likely with Natsu, who's been there from the beginning, took on Deliora, fought too many people just because one of his friends are in danger, has repeatedly stopped Gray from using Iced Shell and was ready to Die with him.
Natsu in return probably feels safe and like he can trust Gray to handle himself because this man has been there since day one and even can take Natsu himself on with no problem. Natsu also probably is happy Gray is nothing like Lisanna or Lucy. Because Gray is Gray and he doesn't remind Natsu of anything traumatizing he's been through.
They both trust one another and stay by one another's side because they are both understanding that they aren't gonna leave. Because think about it, Gray has lost family and his mentor to death. He has suffered through that. You wanna know who's constantly beating death on its ass???? Natsu " I refuse to die " Dragneel.
Natsu has lost family by being abandoned and by Death. He got it both ways and he's suffering because of it. But Gray who's stubborn has shit and stood death in the face at a young age and screamed fuck you at the top of his lungs, wouldn't leave. Gray who fucking went through hell and back, destoryed his own infiltration mission just because Natsu Dragneel rolled up, Keeps Trying To Protect Him, Never once wants to lose Natsu. And Natsu knows that. Because Gray is his constant. Gray is that constant presence in his life he knows for a fact he can trust.
But idfk that's just my thoughts on them.

Not a party person
Summary: Despite not being a party person, Lucy convinces Juvia to come along. There she gets to know a guy who manages to enchant her with a smile.
A/N: Thank you @anaken101 for requesting a modern day AU. I've been worrking on one but I kind of got stuck in a writer's block so here is a short one as an apology until I manage to finish the main one.
Also it's midnight here in Germany which means Juvia day is over and I had to contribute something to it.
Hope you like it. :)
*************************************************
If Juvia could go back in time and change things, there is one thing she would do different for sure: She would never agree to go to this stupid party. She wasn't even sure how Lucy and Levy had managed to convince her to come with them, but her she was. Juvia is anything but a party person, so really, what were her friends thinking?
“You know how awkward I can become at parties, I need you there! Come on, it will be fun!” Levy was begging Juvia to come along.
“Levy is right. You will like it, I promise. Besides you need to meet new people. And my friends have been begging me to introduce them to you.”
“I know enough people already.”
“Gajeel, Levy and I are anything but enough. Besides I think you need to let lose a little and just have fun for once. ” Lucy did have a point. Ever since Juvia moved in with her, she hadn't made an effort to get out and meet new people. To be fair, she was busy with her new job most of the time and when she wasn't she would spend the time locked up in her room dealing with her wounds that messy breakup with her stupid ex Bora had left her with.
Anyways, after a lot of arguments and discussions the girls had managed to convince her. And that's how she ended up here. On a couch, stuck between couples who obviously felt no shame whatsoever, with her friends nowhere in sight. She did see Levy leaving with Gajeel earlier. And Lucy was supposed to get them drinks but she has yet to come back. At this point Juvia was positive she wouldn't see her blonde friend for a while, judging by the looks she was giving that friend of hers who she introduced as Natsu, the guy hosting the party.
Juvia sighed and pushed herself of the couch. She really needed to get out of here. When she did manage to arrive outside, she felt like she could finally breathe. The room has been suffocating her. She sat down and leaned her back against the fence enjoying the calm of the night. She didn't realize the presence of another person until he spoke up.
“I take it you're not a party person.”
Juvia looked up to find a guy staring at her. He seemed to be around her age. Dark hair, droppy eyes, shirtless. Why the hell was he shirtless? It's not like it was warm outside. The cool breeze was leaving goosebumps on her skin after all. Why was it bothering her anyway? Juvia shook the thought away. Should she just ignore him and hope he will go away? Would that be rude? Lucy's words about meeting new people came back into her mind. She was right. Juvia really needed to learn to be more open. Besides it was really time she'd let lose and have a little fun. The guy seemed nice enough. And he didn't appear drunk. He was very handsome too, not that this is of importance.
“Um, yes, you could say so.”
Smiling, he settled down next to her, leaving enough space between them in order to not make her uncomfortable. Juvia couldn't help but laugh inwardly. What did Bora say before he broke up with her? You're too clingy. Jerk.
“Most people are declaring this party the best one ever.”
“Might be. I can't really judge. Like you figured already, I'm not really a party person.”
“How come you're here then? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just generally curious.”
“I was pretty much forced to come here by my friends. They can be quite persistence."
"What are friends there for? Mine forced me to be here too." He chuckled, leaning his head back against the fence and eyeing Juvia from the side. "There is already something we have in common stranger."
"Alright, my turn to ask a question. Why are you shirtless? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just generally curious.”
“Nice one, using my own words against me.” The guy flashed her a smile and Juvia felt like she couldn't breathe for a moment. He wasn't just handsome, he was straight up gorgeous. Suddenly Juvia felt insecure about her appearance. Maybe she should have put a little more effort in and taking up on Lucy's offer to do her hair and make-up. Well, it was too late now. And the guy didn't seem to be bothered either because Juvia kept catching him staring at her, before shyly averting his eyes.
“Some drunk guy spilled his drink on me earlier so my shirt was all sticky which is why I decided to take it off. Noone complained yet. It doesn't make you uncomfortable, does it?” He seemed genuinely concerned and for some reason it warmed her heart.
“I was stuck on a couch with two different couples fiercely making out around me for a while. I had to push this one guy away from me four times. I think I can handle you being shirtless.”
“Well, I'm glad then. I was afraid I was making you uncomfortable and would have to leave. Especially because I am really enjoying talking to you.” He smiled shyly, scratching the back of his head.
“My name is Gray by the way.”
“Nice to meet you Gray. I'm Juvia.”
“Juvia.." he let the name roll on his lips a little, before giving her a satisfied smile. "It's a pretty name, fits you. It also sounds much better than stranger." "
At that Juvia could feel her cheeks heating up. She was sure she looked like a tomato at this point. Juvia wasn't sure how to respond to that and for a short moment an awkward silence was present before Gray broke it.
"Wait, Juvia? As in Lucy's new roommate?”
“Yes, you know her?”
“She's a very close friend of mine. I assume she's the one who managed to drag you here?"
Juvia nodded. “To be fair, it took her a lot of convincing. Although I'm not exactly sure why she dragged me along, considering I lost her after the first ten minutes here.”
“Yeah, I'm afraid you won't find her anymore. As far as I know her she's probably getting busy with my best friend.”
“I assume your best friends name is Natsu?” It was more of a statement than a question but Gray still nodded. “Honestly, I suspected something like that already after she went to get us drinks and never came back.”
Gray laughed, shaking his head slightly. “I think you'll fit right into our group. I honestly don't know why Lucy was so scared of introducing us to you. She kept rambling about us leaving a bad impression and scaring you of, but I like to think I'm doing pretty good.”
“You're doing okay, I guess.” Gray laughed and stared at Juvia, who had a playful smile on her face, before she started to nervously play with her hair and turned her head a little sideways. Something about this guy was turning her into a blushing, nervous mess. Gray realized he was staring and shook himself out of the trance that blunette seemed to have put him in.
“Since Lucy never got you a drink, can I offer you one?”
“How could I possibly say no when you ask so nicely?” Gray grinned and got up before reaching out a hand to Juvia and helping her up. They started walking back to the house in silence.
“Are you single? Just asking.” Somehow he had managed to ramble out the sentence calmly, inside Gray was a mess though. Juvia looked at him, seeing the slight blush on his face and the way he averted looking her straight in the face. She couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face.
“Yes, I am. You have a friend you want to hook me up with?”
“Something like that. Would that friend have any chances?”
“Well, he might.”
“In that case, could he get your phone number?” At that Gray pulled out his phone and held it towards her, a boyish grin on his face. Juvia took the phone and typed in her number before handing it back to him.
“I better hear from that friend or I'll be seriously disappointed.”
“Don't worry about that, he'd be an idiot if he didn't contact you. But for now, he'll be enjoying talking to you in person while you are still here.”
“Yeah? Well, I like the sound of that."
“Great! Now lets get you that drink you have been waiting for so long.” With that he took her hand and continued walking back inside. Juvia couldn't help but notice how perfect their hands fit together and when he looked back at her, with a beautiful smile on his face, Juvia was glad she had come to the party.
After all it's where she first meet her future boyfriend / husband.

Part 2
Request: Yes or No
Trigger Warning: Depression, self harm, schizophrenia, talk of attempted suicide
If anyone with schizophrenia feels offended or wants to inform me on it, please feel free to message me and I'll fix whatever needs to be fixed. Please remember that I don't have schizophrenia so I can only learn from the people who do. Also, please be mindful of the fact that I'm not saying all wards are bad, some are good while others aren't, it really depends on you and how you view your experience.
(Y/N) watched as Fangs pulled up a chair beside him.
'He likes you.'
'Punch him.' (Y/N) blinked, not expecting two voices at once. (Y/N) always preferred the logical voice over the violent one but they usually never spoke at once. He was tempted on naming them since his aunt had named her voices.
"Well, most of us here want to learn though we do have some people with illnesses." Betty said, motioning to some students.
"(Y/N), maybe you can start us off?" Betty asked. Everyone looked at (Y/N) making him shift uncomfortably.
"Schizophrenia." He crossed his arms. Betty nodded and the next person continued. (Y/N) glanced at the tall dark figure in the corner of the room, watching it hunch over.
"Other than (Y/N), has anyone been to a psych ward?" Betty looked around. They shook their heads.
"Can you tell us about your experience?" (Y/N) took a deep breath in.
"When I got to the hospital, Sheriff Keller told Lucie that I should be sent to the psych ward a few miles away from Riverdale.."
(Y/N) stared at the ceiling on the ambulance. The distant chatter of the paramedic treating his cut up wrists was starting to get annoying.
'Worthless'
'Arrogant'
'Good for nothing'
"Shut the fuck up!" (Y/N) snapped. The paramedic shut his mouth, glancing nervously at the other dude. The cold air was starting to annoy him. (Y/N) closed his eyes shut, knowing he would probably get another two weeks for doing that. The ambulance came to a stop and he was pulled out, only to get shoved onto a wheelchair and restrained to it. He glanced at the paramedic that whispered to a nurse and huffed. Definitely another two weeks. (Y/N) flinched when the nurse injected him with an unknown liquid. He squirmed a bit, hating the fact that he didn't know what it was.
"What'd you do?" Lucie asked.
"Sedated him. He threatened one of the paramedics." Fucking liars. (Y/N)'s world grew blurry and started to spin before he saw black dots.
He woke up in a stiff bed with his wrists and ankles restrained. (Y/N) wiggled his wrists, feeling his wrists start to burn and sting.
"No, no, no." A nurse cooed.
"Please calm down, sweetheart. You're okay." She whispered. (Y/N)'s eyes flickered to the dark figure looming behind her, it's white eyes staring holes into the male.
"Get me the hell out of here.." (Y/N) whispered.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, sweetheart." The nurse shook her head, fishing a pill bottle out of her pocket.
"Where's my brother? I want my brother." (Y/N) cried.
"Oh, baby.." The nurse started to hum a soft lullaby. (Y/N) sniffled, calming down. His mind went blank and he almost forgot where he was.
'Don't take the meds.' The voice chanted over and over. The nurse got him some water, making sure he swallowed the pills. The voice eventually stopped and the shadow disappeared.
"I'm Dorris. I'll be takin' care of you, sweetheart." She was nice. (Y/N) liked her. She reminded him of his aunt. The dark skinned woman gave him a soft smile once he was calm and relaxed.
"I'll go get you some lunch." Dorris said, standing up and leaving the room. (Y/N) took a moment to look around the room. White and gray. Pretty bland. There was one single art portrait on a wall. The colors made (Y/N) want to go insane so he decided not to look at it. On the other side of the room was a window. He could feel them watching him. (Y/N) was glad he didn't have a bitchy or jumpy nurse but the fact he was being watched made him uneasy. The shadows already watched him, wasn't that enough?
About a month had passed, or at least (Y/N) thought so. Time was odd when you were isolated in a room because your illness was deemed 'too unpredictable'. (Y/N) hated the food. It looked like something a prison would give their inmates. The whole ward looked like a prison and the 'dangerous' patients were treated like inmates. The only thing keeping him sane was Dorris. Until a different nurse walked into his room.
"Who are you?" (Y/N) asked, eyeing her suspiciously.
"Your new nurse. Dorris was moved to the girl's section." The nurse replied. (Y/N)'s eyes landed on Kurtz.
"Kurtz?" He cocked his head.
"Who?"
"My brother." (Y/N) replied, a bit irritated. The nurse stared at him before speaking without sympathy.
"He's dead."
"I told her to shove the painting up her ass and she said I threatened her some days later." (Y/N) shrugged.
"I don't remember much after that." (Y/N) met Betty's gaze. She had a mix of emotions, as did Veronica and some Serpent chick. Everyone stayed silent.
'They're scared of you.' (Y/N) licked his lips, picking up his backpack. He glanced at his phone and stood up.
"Lucie's here." He said, leaving the classroom. (Y/N) walked through the halls, glancing at the darting shadows. He really should've taken his meds. (Y/N) left the school, going down the sidewalk. Lucie hadn't texted him. He just didn't wanna be around people. The walk to Sweetwater River was a bit agonizing. He sometimes forgot where he was going or where he was completely and the voice telling him to jump in front of passing cars wasn't helping. When he finally got to the river, he dropped his bag and lied down. The sound of the river and occasional buzzing of bugs helped calm him down. Kurtz curled up beside him, bringing him comfort. (Y/N) stared up at the sky, mind blank.
"You good?" (Y/N) turned his head, looking at the curly haired male. He looked back at the sky, swiping his tongue over his dry lips. The male took a seat beside him, looking him over. His eyes landed on (Y/N)'s arm.
"Are you that kid everyone's talking about?" He asked. (Y/N) looked at him, a little annoyed.
"Go away." He mumbled.
"I know how you feel."
"No, you don't." (Y/N) replied. He hated people who said those things. They acted as if they had gone through the same thing but they had no idea.
"I did exactly what you did, kid." The male motioned to (Y/N)'s scarred arms.
"Fuck you." (Y/N) mumbled. The male faced him. He pulled (Y/N) towards him, hugging him. (Y/N) immediately went limp in his arms, thoughts racing. When Lucie had hugged him, his mind was still at the psych ward but now that his mind had caught up, physical contact that wasn't meant to restraint him was odd. (Y/N) curled up, burying his face into the male's chest. It was probably the first time he had ever cuddled up against someone besides Kurtz.
"My name's Malachai, by the way." The male said.
"(Y/N)..." He replied softly, wondering if he had made a friend.
