You loved Buffalo in the fall just before it got too cold. As you made your way Highmark Stadium, the sight of trees changing colors made you smile. Josh's sister Makenna was sitting in your passenger seat filling you in on her first summer post-grad.

"Am I going to get a niece or nephew any time soon?" She asked out of the blue. You whipped your head around and stared at her in disbelief.

"What?"

"I mean he's not getting any younger," she said nonchalantly.

"He's 27," you protested. "And I'm only 25." She shrugged.

"Just wondering." Comfortable silence filled the car as you pulled into the stadium. Yes, you wanted kids with Josh but why now? He was busy and away for games all the time and you didn't want to give up your career if you didn't have to. Your thoughts came to a stop as you pulled into your spot, jumping out of the car with Makenna. The two of you headed inside and towards a grand room where the team catered brunch for the families. You grabbed a plate and went through the line before finding a seat next to some other WAGs you were friends with.

"Are you guys traveling to London next month for the game?" One of them asked. The group was split with some nodding and others shaking their heads.

"I would rather die than wrangle my two kids on that long ass flight by myself," someone said and you laughed.

"What about you y/n? Are you going?"

"Yeah, I've never been to London. It seems like a good excuse to explore," you said smiling.

"I'm going too, what day is your flight?" Your friend Emily asked and you two started making plans on what to see while the boys were busy.

When it was a little closer to gametime and the boys were warming up you headed down to the field to say hi to Josh before you settled in.

"Hi Mrs. Allen," he said smiling as he came over to you.

"Hi, Mr. Allen," you replied laughing. You wrapped your arms around his waist and he kissed the top of your head. "Nervous?"

"Never baby," he said. You knew he was lying though, no matter how amazing was, he was always a little on edge before gametime.

"Let's make a little wager then hmm," you said with a glint in your eye. He looked down at you expectantly.

"Four touchdown passes and you can come home to me in just your jersey and nothing else." His face reddened as he blushed making you smile wider.

"What if I lose?" He mumbled. You brought your finger to your chin thinking.

"Hmmm, then I'll get to go on a shopping spree with your card in London," you replied and he rolled his eyes.

"Not like you weren't going to do that before," he said. He leaned down and gave you one last soft kiss before trotting off to join the rest of the guys.

You headed up to your seats and settled in. Kickoff came and went and by the time the second quarter rolled around Josh had already thrown three touchdown passes.

"This is crazy!" Makenna exclaimed. "He's on fire."

You blushed thinking about your earlier conversation and took another sip of your drink. The Bills were driving down and after Josh threw a 40 yard bomb to Stefon you knew it was only a matter of time.

Sure enough on the next play you watched as Beasley caught your husband's pass for another Bill TD. You cheered loudly with his sister and the rest of the fans in your section. Josh trotted over to the sidelines with the biggest grin you'd seen on his face all game. He found you in the stands and gave you a wink.

The final score ended up being 40-0 and your husband ended the day with 5 touchdowns and 400 passing yards. On the field you waited for him with Makenna who rushed to give him a big hug.

"You were amazing! 5 touchdowns, it's like you couldn't be stopped," she exclaimed. He looked over at you.

"I had some good motivation," he replied making you blush. You were in for a long night.

TD World Tour AU, where Noah doesn't tell Owen that Alejandro is an eel in London... In Area 51, Noah is accidentally splashed with an alien truth potion (which wears off after a few days) and he talks to Owen... Owen asks Noah what he truly thinks about Alejandro, and Truth-Potion Affected Noah says this: "I have mixed feelings for Alejandro. He's a brilliant, interesting guy and I like him, but I don't trust him. He's like a slippery eel dipped in grease, swimming in motor oil. Basically, Heather with social skills. Wait a minute, why am I telling you this?!"... What if Alejandro secretly heard Noah call him all those conflicting things + Alejandro also learns that Noah is affected with an alien truth potion? 👽

Alright, you got me. I'm an absolute sucker for truth potion plots, especially when the character(s) effected by them are usually either pathological liars or incredibly secretive- of which Noah absolutely falls into the second category, given he shares so little personal information.

I'll gloss over why Noah declined to shit-talk Alejandro in London (though there's so many ways this change in behaviour could be justified) since the focal point of this hypothetical centred around their time in Nevada, so let's start from the beginning of the Area 51 challenge.

Area 51:

Before we start, it'll have to be established that no one was eliminated in London. Let's say that the majority vote went towards Duncan (team CIRRRRH voted him out immediately because they found his re-admission to the competition unfair, I guess. I imagine he'd also vote himself, if not as a plan to escape the competition he'd been actively skiving from, then just as an act of spite) but Chris instead claimed it was a rewards challenge- much like he does in Greece- because he doesn't want to let Duncan slip away again so soon.

I see no reason to alter the first part of the challenge- the sneaking into Area 51 portion- since team CIRRRRH's course of entry is fairly straightforward. Noah's presence doesn't make much of a difference to how it would play out; the majority of them throw their rocks and run, Owen gets lasered over the fence and Owen-napped, ect ect.

When both teams have managed to make their way into the Black Box Warehouse, Noah immediately suggests they should prioritise rescuing Owen. Tyler's quick to agree, since he's a firm believer in the "no man left behind" mentality (and he probably makes a not-so-subtle jab towards Noah for his chance of tune compared to London, where both he and Owen did leave Tyler behind) leaving Duncan and Alejandro to split from the group- Duncan in search of Gwen, and Alejandro just takes the opportunity to finally be free from his 'incompetent teammates' and prioritises finding an artifact.

Noah and Tyler come across the contraption Owen's trapped in, Tyler punches it in a futile effort to break it open, and the face hugger cube drops into Noah's hands. This is where the point of divergence comes into play; Tyler has his E.T. moment with one of the face huggers, but Noah- who's a tad bit more observant than Alejandro, and used to dodging surprise attacks from his various older siblings (and Izzy)- anticipates his own face hugger attack and promptly starts a game of cat-and-mouse with a taser alien hot on his heels.

The commotion of which attracts the rest of his team. Alejandro and Duncan arrive on the scene to see Tyler being electrocuted by an alien and Noah running in circles evading another.

Duncan attempts to rip the face hugger from Tyler's face, finding success at the cost of sending Tyler trampling into Owen's captive contraption (essentially taking Alejandro's canonical place in this scene) and inadvertently freeing Owen.

Meanwhile, Alejandro swipes up the nearest box he can find and snags the alien chasing Noah, who's still very loudly panicking as he flees, and succeeds! The alien is swiftly captured into the box, netting team CIRRRRH their artifact, and Noah promptly goes careening into the nearest tower of junk in his face hugger-fuelled hysteria. This causes another box to topple from the peak of the tower, landing directly on Noah's head and spilling its contents onto the bookworm- glass vials filled with a mysterious, luminescent cobalt blue liquid shatter into pieces drenching Noah in whatever they contained. (i.e. truth potion.)

Owen has his false-amnesia moment, characterised by his Joker makeover, and Alejandro enacts his revenge post-hypnotic suggestion after being addressed as "Al" one too many times.

Noah, understandably, swiftly objects to Owen's treatment and demands that Alejandro snap him out of it. Alejandro concedes, and Owen's brought back to himself. At least, for a moment, before the fatigue of having his mind messed with sends Owen into near-catatonia (the same as canon), meaning he has to be ferried through the Warehouse and back to the Jet by Alejandro and Duncan.

Things carry on canonically from there; Noah's just sort of there for the most part, though there'd be a minor hint to his newfound proclivity for honesty. Something along the lines of him giving an uncharacteristically honest answer to Owen as to who he's voting- Tyler, of course, since he was the one who ultimately threw the challenge for them... and also because Tyler still holds some resentment towards Noah for what happened in London, and Noah feels guilty about it every time he looks at the jock. Wait, why did he say that?

Sometime between this and the elimination scene, Noah wipes the truth-goop off of himself, but not before the effects have already started.

Tyler's voted out, yada yada yada.

The Jet:

Thus begins the start of "Picnic at Hanging Dork". Team CIRRRRH, consisting of just Alejandro, Duncan, Owen and Noah, are slumming it up in the Economy Cabin. Alejandro tries to rally his team by asking how to break apart Courtney and Heather's tentative co-operation. Owen suggests having Alejandro seduce Heather, since it worked for both Bridgette and Leshawna. Duncan makes his "Babe Olympics" comment. Noah pipes up that playing with someone's feelings is pretty scummy, even for someone competing for a million dollars.

Alejandro takes Noah's reluctance towards his methodology poorly; he hadn't spoken up before, when Alejandro had utilized the same strategy against other girls- and even Owen noticed that, so surely Noah did too- so why was he to outwardly against him using the same tricks? Duncan agrees, and offers ''his'' idea of having Alejandro flirt with Courtney to throw both her and Heather off their games (since Heather has an obvious crush on Alejandro), and things follow canon.

Then, the scene between Alejandro and Courtney happens. Noah scoffs at the display from the side lines, prompting Owen to ask him why he's so against Alejandro's plan.

"I mean, you never said anything before, when he flirted with Bridgette and Leshawna." Owen comments, light-hearted in nature but with an underlying questioning tone.

Noah's eyes flicker with a cobalt glow, easily mistaken for a trick of the light, and he speaks without even thinking.

"Yeah, because I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Bridgette was happenstance, and Leshawna's whole deal could've been a coincidence, or some massive misunderstanding. But this?" Noah extends an accusing hand out towards a smug looking Alejandro, then pans it over to a flattered Courtney, "He's outright toying with Courtney's feelings after she was cheated on in front of an international audience. It's scummy."

Owen nods in understanding, momentary contemplation evident in the pouted curve of his lips, and he chimes in.

"Does that mean you don't like Al?"

"I never said that."

"Well, how do you feel about him, then?"

Again, a flash of blue light against the hickory backdrop of Noah's eyes, and he responds thoughtlessly.

"I guess I have mixed feelings about him. On the one hand, he's slippery, like an eel dipped in grease, swimming in motor oil. He's like if you took all of the worst aspects of Heather, wrapped them up in a pretty package, and gave them social skills..." He holds his hands out before him in a scale-like manner, with the left tipped downwards and tie right raised by his chin. Then, the two hands swap positions.

"And on the other hand, he's brilliant. I've never met anyone as talented as Alejandro; he's smart, he's athletic, he's funny. It's almost unfair just how perfect everything about him is- even his face is perfect. It's ridiculous! Infuriating, even. It's so hard to dislike him, even when I know he's bad news, but that doesn't mean I trust him."

Owen stands slack jawed beside his best friend, both impressed and stunned at the raw honesty of Noah's tirade. Noah, now a little more aware of himself, realises that he's said more than he intended to- more than he thinks he's ever spoken in one go throughout the entirety of Total Drama. He's not usually one for speeches, after all, let alone honest ones.

He's always been the type to play his cards close to his chest, so why...?

"I, uh, didn't mean to go off like that."

And he also didn't mean to admit it, either. What was going on?

The look Owen gives him is, in a word, vivid. The blonde has a shit-eating grin stretching across his face, a sort of elated smugness practically glowing from his features.

"Sounds like someone has a cruuuush!~"

What? No? No! Not at all, where would Owen even get that idea?!

Noah splutters to correct Owen's assumption (to disastrous results, because he does sort-of has a crush on Alejandro, so the truth potion doesn't allow him to outright deny it), and in his preoccupied state he misses how a calculating pair of sage green eyes never seems to stray from him.

Alejandro has a lot to think about in regards to a certain cynic, it seems.

#I'd like to apologise for taking this idea and running with it.#Cutting myself off here before I breach 2k+ words or else I'll be here all day.#Sort of entered actual Writing Mode at the end there instead of Outline Mode but this idea is. So Full Of Potential I couldn't help myself.#But from here it'd basically be Alejandro using his newfound knowledge of Noah's crush on him to his advantage.#Whilst Noah's doing his best (and failing) to deny that he has any feelings for Alejandro.#Eventually leading to the two of them having a Bonding Moment where Alejandro gets Noah to divulge some personal information.#And in turn- or an effort to garner some trust (to be abused later)- Alejandro also lets himself be vulnerable towards Noah.#Something something Alejandro tries to use Noah as a pawn but ends up catching feelings of his own.#Then of course the potion wears off and Noah goes back to being just as prickly and standoffish as he was before.#A point of conflict maybe? Imagine bearing your soul out to someone only for them to close themself off to you not even days afterwards.#...Also imagine being practically forced to divulge information about yourself to someone you don't trust because of a truth potion.#Oh yeah. That's some good angst material right there.#Especially is you have Alejandro be- if not fully aware- than at least suspect that Noah's not being agreeable on his own terms.#Anon why have you given me The Thoughts?? seeing as it’s now been one year since the last chapter of slippery slopes was posted, i decided to make a big sappy post talking about what this fic has meant to me over the last two and a half years

i started writing slippery slopes after a bolt of inspiration struck me on this post. i’d tried writing my fair share of long fics prior, most of them remaining unpublished and all of them unfinished. i’m not quite sure what made me think i could write slippery slopes other than a strong desire to write the alenoah fic i wanted to read but that didn’t exist at the time. slippery slopes was the 30th fic posted in the alenoah tag, which didn’t have any finished long fics at the time. i think if you told 2021 pj that in two years there would be over 600 alenoah fics, many of them tdwt rewrites, their head would explode.

i honestly had no idea what i was jumping into when i started writing slippery slopes. looking back, i was very insecure about my writing. i’d actually forgotten about that until i was reading some posts i’d made while i was still writing it, where i wondered if i was going to be able to pull off the miscommunication plotline and the unplanned alecourtney friendship. almost every announcement of a chapter draft being completed included me saying i felt weird about it, or thought it was bad. i felt incredibly uncomfortable writing serious angst and when that started playing an important role in the fic at around chapter seven i feared that my writing was awful and other people would dislike it the way i had. i genuinely don’t think it hit me that slippery slopes was a popular fic until a few months before it became the most kudosed fic on ao3.

back then, i was able to understand why other people liked slippery slopes, but i couldn’t read it without cringing. i’m not sure when exactly the switch flipped—probably after i finally finished it and was able to distance myself from the writing process—but it became a fic that i’m incredibly proud of. i can reread it now and enjoy it without cringing in the slightest. i was able to see my writing as good, and well-crafted. i will always appreciate slippery slopes as a fic where i grew incredibly as a writer. i understand how to plan out long fics while still allowing for spontaneity. i can comfortably write angst. i feel strong in my choices for characterization and friendship even if it may seem unconventional. i have so much more confidence in my writing now, and a lot of that is thanks to you all.

other than desperately wanting an alenoah tdwt rewrite fic, a huge part of why i wrote slippery slopes was because i felt lonely in the td fandom and was hoping that this fic could connect me with more people out there. and boy oh boy it sure has. and not just the plethora of alenoah shippers—way more than i expected—but there were also people who didn’t ship alenoah, but still stayed for the story, and people who had never considered alenoah but gave my fic a chance and ended up shipping it anyway. when i didn’t believe my writing was good, there were many, many kind commenters who showed my fic love and encouraged me to keep going with it. and even now, there are commenters whose fresh excitement make me feel like all the time i spent on this fic was so, so worth it. and they all inspire me to keep writing.

i may be a good writer, but i don’t think i can ever fully express what everyone’s support has done for me. i still struggle to wrap my mind around the fact that there are dozens of drawings of my fic that you all have made! that’s crazy! i am so, so lucky to have such wonderful readers, and i hope you all know how incredibly grateful i am. slippery slopes would not exist without you. this was a joint effort. it’s amazing to me how a spontaneously started fic for a crackship ended up changing the total drama fandom landscape the way it did. who would’ve guessed that a simple whim to write an alenoah fic could become quite the slippery slope.

Señor Dixon Goes To Spain?

Let’s indulge in some wild speculating, based exclusively on hypotheticals and wishful thinking.

Well well well! Daryl might be going to Spain! Excellent choice, it’s a beautiful country, I highly recommend, 10/10. And while it seems to have been officially confirmed just now, it’s not entirely surprising for people who’ve been paying attention.

We heard a reference to Spain already back in TWDDD 1x1 L’âme Perdue, when Isabel showed Daryl around the convent, and they came across a radio. Isabel mentioned that the last person she’d been in contact with was a Spaniard a few months ago:

When seemingly random stuff like this gets brought up, it’s normally fair to assume it’s symbolism or foreshadowing, and I felt pretty certain Spain would come up again sooner or later.

Then later, we meet Losang. He’s the leader of the Nest, and he first came in contact with the nuns and Laurent on his way back from a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. "Compostela" refers to "the field of stars" under which the pilgrims traveled, a reference to the Milky Way.

That certainly tickles my TD brain, concidering how many astronomical references we have had around Beth, such as Sirius and Venus, satellites and eclipses to name a few.

Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela is one of the world's most famous pilgrimages, and can be reached through a number of different routes. Isabel's convent was situated relatively close to the starting point of the French Way:

I have a whole theory in my drafts on potential references to El Camino de Santiago from years ago, which I might have to revisit now. Also, keep in mind that the working title of TWDDD was "Pilgrim":

But the most compelling thing about filming in Spain is an absolutely brilliant discovery made by @galadrieljones back when the final season of FTWD aired. We see Dwight, Morgan and Sherry share a scene, and a series of coordinates were given, supposedly to a P.A.D.R.E repeater station.

In reality, the coordinates corresponded with an area of the Atlantic Ocean near an archipelago called the Canary Islands. The islands, though situated off the coast of west Africa, are Spanish territory, and are famous (and slightly infamous, to be honest) for hordes of pale, vitamin D-deficient, sun-deprived north Europeans like myself as a holiday destination.

The part of it that’s particularly interesting for TD is that the etymology of the word Canary/Canarias shows it is derived from Latin “Canis”, meaning dog.

And as we know, that’s Sirius symbolism. Sirius means return/rebirth/resurrection. It refers to Sirius the Dog Star, who returns to the sky one morning right before dawn, after having been “just gone” for some time. I've written many posts on that, here's one.

There’s even a particular type of dog breed that’s associated with the Canary Islands, Presa Canario:

As a fun fact, in TWDDD season 1, Daryl’s original plan to get home involved getting on a boat that would eventually take him to Newfoundland, Canada. That’s also a dog reference, it refers to Newfoundland dogs:

As I’ve been saying, dog symbolism is Sirius symbolism, we learned that from 4x13 Alone. It means return/rebirth/resurrection. Daryl’s plans to return via Newfoundland fell through when he had to save Laurent from walkers, but the symbolism of it is still valid.

And as an extra fun fact, there’s even a location on Newfoundland, Canada, with the name Canary Islands…

…do with that what you will...

Another really interesting thing about the Canary Islands is that they provide an excellent starting point for transatlantic crossings. This is due to the consistent trade winds that blow from east to west, and sailors have taken advantage of this phenomenon for centuries.

Of course, we don’t know if Daryl will make it to the Canary Islands, and even if he doesn’t, I’m still exited about Spain, for the reasons laid out above. But the potential reference to the Canary Islands through the coordinates from FTWD is a super interesting clue, and it involves dog/Sirius symbolism, which makes me very happy.

Also, the coordinates from FTWD supposedly led to a repeater station, which is a radio reference. That means, the repeater station is a Sirius symbol both as a radio reference, as well as a dog reference, in that the coordinates in reality points to a stretch of ocean near the Canary Islands.

Whatever the coordinates were meant to signify, they sure as hell didn’t point to no repeater station in Georgia.

So yeah. Might be nothing, but could be something. The off-season is for speculating.

Day 28 - Finale

After weeks of battle, triumph, drama, and other teenager shenanigans, it is finally time to crown the winner of Total Drama Sims!!

Our finalists are Lilium Pond and Dahlia Grove. These two have outlasted everyone else and now, all of the eliminated contestants will be coming together to vote for a winner as a jury! Votes will be public, so you will know who votes for who.

Voting will go from the bottom of the leaderboard up (aka last place to the most recently eliminated), and will be confessional-style to make up for those who never had a confessional while on Total Drama Sims. So, without further ado, let's determine our winner!!

14th place - Elli Proudmoore

"Dahlia, we weren't on the same team, but you were pretty interesting and we talked for a little bit, so uh... yeah."

"I underestimated you, Dahlia, and for what it's worth, I'm sorry. I never thought you would vote for me, but I guess that's what lead to my downfall. I really did feel that we had a connection, though, so I'm still gonna vote for you."

oh how i've missed your mkulia analysis. i love ur interpretation of mkulia, ur brain is so huge i was wondering if there is to be a season three, how would you personally want MKulia to happen if they were gonna be canon? and how would you want them to be handled? i feel you can go a lot of ways with it julia discovering she likes women arc, mkulia being one-sided/angsty mkulia, another character setting up mkulia, plain fluffy mkulia are a few i can think about! but idk what would hit the nail and/or work best for everyone

I think I kinda wanna start with what I hope the writers don’t do if they plan to make Mkulia canon. It’s sorta a blanket statement but I don’t want MK and Julia to get flanderized. TD’s writing has this issue where as soon as a couple becomes canon, the characters personalities are just reduced to the context of the relationship. I’ve griped before about Priya’s capabilities getting neutered this season for Priyaleb, Axel’s character development got derailed over Ripaxel, and Emma doesn’t get to be a character outside of Chase and twice now got eliminated right after him. Tbh the writing feels misogynistic in that sense, which might be why Rajbow has avoided this pitfall and Mkulia might avoid it too, being a wlw ship.

I hope Mkulia doesn’t just become a complete fluff ship because I’d also count that as flanderization. I still want MK to rib and annoy Julia but also have moments where she’s enthusiastically praising her, with occasional moments where she’s the serious one. Julia still needs have this 75-25 split of being the so called “straight man” to MK’s outrageous side vs just being being silly/flustered. This balance is what makes them enjoyable to watch.

I also don’t want MK to suddenly be flustered, I think she should stay the more foreword, self assured one. I just think Julia staying as the one more easily flustered and and self conscious one is more interesting for her character. Being worried about how MK perceives her is really the only context we see Julia feel vulnerable because otherwise she has such a good social and physical game in the competition that she’s never really anxious in a way she feels like she can’t take control.

I don’t think I really have a preference for how the show can set up the ship, they really can just do anything to establish it. If they don’t want to rehash the plot line of a character (almost certainly Julia in this case) realizing their sexuality, they really could just write Mkulia as casually getting closer (more touchy and having deeper conversations). It’s not like a point of conflict or anything, just passively happening. Maybe the other characters notice and it gives them sympathy points that help them dodge elimination because literally everyone else here votes based on who annoyed them that day or failed the challenge he hard enough as opposed to actually voting strategically.

However, season 2 was just full of rehashed plot lines so there’s a decent chance they’d do the discovering their sexuality thing again, which I’m not opposed to. I feel like they’d have to establish early that MK’s a lesbian though. I don’t know, maybe when Chris and Chef are explaining an unpleasant part of the first challenge MK makes a salty quip like “Ugh, sounds like my ex-girlfriend,”. Cut to Julia making a confessional where she looks flustered and says “Her what?”. Cut back to Bowie saying “Your what?” and MK rhetorically asks if she stuttered. Cut to an MK confessional where she shrugs and says something to the effect of she didn’t have a reason to bring up her sexuality earlier.

I think that Julia could periodically have confessionals where she shifts from defending herself with comphet (even if for clout), to denying she could be attracted to MK’s supposedly annoying traits, to a more pragmatic she can’t have a crush on her alliance partner because it would mess with her game, then finally lands on she can’t have a crush on her only real friend and risk ruining what they have if MK doesn’t feel the same.

Maybe further deterring Julia from saying anything is MK revealing that she’s actually had many short relationships that she cut off because she felt held back by them, she does pride herself on being honest and cold hearted, after all. But the piece of info MK omits is that she felt held back because her exes had an “I can fix her” mentality, whereas Julia loves MK’s sneaky and underhanded tendencies. I think it would be entertaining if MK catches on to Julia’s crush early and thinks it’d be hilarious to act oblivious while playing in to it until Julia makes a move.

I’m not going to get in to my specific hopes for season 3 story beats or what I’d realistically expect, but I’d like to see a midpoint merge Bowie/Julia double elimination where they really screwed over each other and MK and Raj go to see them off. Bowie has a quip about how it’s almost cute that his boyfriend and her girlfriend are both there. Julia is flustered but MK leans in to it because it’s funny, which gives Raj and Bowie a chance to say their goodbye.

This then leaves us with the MK vs. Raj, the wlw on mlm hostility feud I know a lot of use wanted. In this situation, Priya and Caleb are eliminated already so no one could oppose MK by association with Julia. Nichelle and Damien could still be floating around but I don’t think they would feel as threatened by MK. Wayne is gone too so Raj doesn’t have a morality pet. I’d like to see MK have moments where she goes “what would Julia do” and angst about not having her to lean on. Realistically it’s because MK’s social game sucks but it can have gay undertones. Then we get to the finale where both the gays lose, in actuality it’s because of Raj’s proximity to a winner and former runner up, and MK can’t win because she’s an antagonist and her proximity to a runner up. Maybe MK can get a kiss from Julia and promise of a date as a consolation prize. Idk if that’s verging into fanfiction territory but this more subtle approach is how I realistically think they’d write it if its not the main romance of the season.

A completely out there way they could write it is make them the first two boots. Cut the monologue every contestant has during their walk of shame. Instead have 30-60 second bonus clips like the ones from world tour but it’s framed as Julia and MK live-blogging the arrival of the next loser. But! It’s in the “Get Over Yourself” format where they’re mostly talking about themselves and we get just a couple lines from the eliminated contestant. Throughout the clips we can get a sense of their relationship progressing to romance.

On one hand, I think having a bunch of bonus clips with these two would be fun, on the other it would sort of suck to delegate them to this until the finale. But also I could hypothetically see it happening if network executives think featuring two gay couples in the show proper is too much to ask.

I guess what I really hope is that Mkulia just gets developed in some way at all. I’d hate for season 3 to start off by telling us they got together off screen, that would kill so much of the excitement over them being canon. I’d also hate for the relationship to be developed just to regress back to them disliking each other. TD’s writing has so many examples of taking a character or relationship (romantic or platonic), then getting to a point where they don’t know what to do with it anymore and go “fuck you for being invested” and ruin it.

I have hope though because if they could maintain Rajbow between seasons while writing season 2 without any fan input, I think they can do it with Mkulia. The writers have to be well aware by now that Mkulia is right next to Rajbow for most beloved ship of this cast so assuming there’s no network meddling, I expect season 3 Mkulia to be made canon and handled with care.

Moon drawing-style update, I guess :D it's a LOT less drastic than some of my other updates to this man, so that's nice. Finally going full-in on the double thumbs too since I decided I like it a lot, and him not having thumbs would just bring up too many questions ~_~

Fun fact about TD: I considered the idea that his extra thumbs were somehow removed, but I already put this man through enough if I'm being honest, so that's not happening anymore. But it's something to think about if you're like me and have questions and like the possibility of angst :/ [and feel robbed that he didn't have two thumbs in the actual movie]

Also, realized the other day that his head was actually pentagonal during a rewatch of Sing [MAN'S VERY SHAPED ACTUALLY BUT I'M NOT GONNA RANT ABOUT IT RN :DDD] [PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY RESTRAINING MYSELF] [HHNGGHGHAGAGGAA-]

It was specifically during the "Call Me Maybe scene" because that's when it goes from being a podcast to becoming a movie again for a minute or two before I tab back out again lol.

【 HANGING OUT AT THE BEACH / DOCK 】

【 Scott at camp Wawanakwa 】

You had already spent some time at the camp Wawanakwa, fortunately not being voted off after the first challenge, which was surprising to you.

Relationships with other contestants didn't come easy to you, given your a bit lacking social skills, but you were already used to it and preferred to rather analyze the other contestants, trying to just survive by yourself. Of course you didn't shoot down any opportunity that arrived to team up with the others, though.

And that such opportunity was Scott, the ginger-haired male at the camp.

You saw right through his act, knowing he's probably gonna be trouble sooner or later, but you were smart enough to not give into his 'very thought-out plans'.

You decided to loosely stick with him throughout your time there, to have at least one "ally" on your side.

Of course you knew you shouldn't fully trust a boy who's got a confident and smug grin on his face most of the time, making him look slightly suspicious.

You weren't sure exactly how Scott saw you and what his plans towards you were, so you were keeping your distance from him for the first few encounters.

After you spent some time with him though, you quickly realized Scott isn't as smart as he thinks he is.

From what you theorized, Scott probably saw you as an easy target to "manipulate" and decided to hang out with you.

Most, if not all of the time you were able to see right through him and his 'perfect schemes', which made your dynamic a bit more lighthearted, at least from your side.

You didn't see him as a hard to beat rival, so that definitely chilled out your hesitance towards him.

With time though, you and Scott became a bit of actual friends.

Even though you spent your free time artificially with him at first, you came to warm up to Scott.

You weren't aware if it was because of the pity points he earned, or maybe actual fondness of his theatrics that amused you.

Either way, most of the team saw you and Scott as a duo.

It was a lazy day, one of those you enjoyed, as it was free from Chris McLean's exhausting challenges.

After you had your horrible morning breakfast - which Scott to your surprise enjoyed - you proposed to hang out at the beach, as it was a particularly hot day.

He looked at you, waiting for a bit before coming up with a slightly unsure response.

"The beach huh-?" He repeated your words, giving himself more time to come up with a valid excuse.

You focused your gaze on him, analyzing his seeming hesitance.

"Yeah, the beach." You confirmed. "I was thinking of at least dipping my feet in the water since it's so hot."

"Well, yeah, beach seems cool, but…" He tried to keep his tone usual and confident, but there was a slight hint of uncertainty as he scratched the back of his neck in a nonchalant manner.

You glanced at him one more time, finally coming up with a possible conclusion of his behavior.

"You're scared of Fang showing up, aren't you?" You asked, lightheartedly teasing him about the shark creature that seemed to have a very strong dislike towards the boy. You'd be lying if you weren't slightly afraid of the unnatural beast as well, but you didn't hold yourself back from friendly poking fun at him from time to time.

"What? No, of course not-" He adamantly tried to brush off your remark, scoffing and crossing his arms in an offended way. "This fat fish-stick has nothing on me, he just happened to find me in situations where I was destined to lose!"

You chuckled slightly, amused by his strong dismissal of his low chances of winning with the shark.

"It's fine- I'd also be scared if this unholy abomination had it out for me." You calmed him down with some sympathetic words.

He wasn't really used to people being understanding towards him, let alone not making fun of his apparent fear of Fang, so he took your words with a bit of suspicion, but he ultimately let go and sighed quietly to himself.

"Fine, let's go. I ain't afraid." He still had to add his two cents to the end of the conversation, gaining him some half-serious eye roll from you.

In the end, you both decided you're gonna head to the dock, taking off your shoes as you arrived at the end of it.

You felt a pleasant sensation of warm water that's been exposed to the sun for some time hitting your feet as you dipped them.

You were pretty relaxed and content spending your free time like that, next to the person you spent most of your time with at the camp.

Scott also seemed to chill out one he established the coast is clear from any carnivores that'd threaten his free time in-between the dangerous challenges.

He finally exhaled contently, looking around the slightly trashed beach from the dock he was sitting on.

He also appreciated the time spent with you. He almost took it for granted, given how much time you were spending in each other's company.

You were one of the people who weren't overly critical of his schemes, as you much rather enjoyed the entertaining outcomes of his ambitious yet more often than not failed plans.

You also weren't plainly making fun of him when he failed, as you had developed some level of liking to the boy and you were curious what other 'plans' he had in store to win.

He told himself that he's gonna use anyone he has to to win the game, although when it came to you and your demeanor towards him, he hesitated a little on what plans he put you in.

Most of your involvement in his plans was like "Okay, so I need someone to partner up during the challenge… Y/N! They're the most fit contestant to help me this time!" Even if you weren't.

"Y/N, they're gonna surely think it's a great idea!" Even if it was destined to fail sooner or later.

Even if he planned to 'use you' in any dangerous challenge, he subconsciously treated you both as a legit team rather than a person underneath him.

You still were the only person whom he listened to for the advice about his schemes. It's not like his schemes were bad by any means, but some opinion once in a while is helpful, right?

Your gaze wandered around the - arguably - pretty sight of the island, until it landed on the freckles of the boy sitting beside you. They appeared more visibly due to the sun.

You stared at them a little, thinking the freckles look quite adorable on a farmboy who shows such a tough exterior. It added some depth to him, or at least you thought.

Unfortunately your thoughts about them were disturbed once he caught your gaze.

"What? Something on my face?" He raised his eyebrow in confusion, prepared to have probably some dirt from the breakfast on his face pointed out to him.

"Um, yeah, actually-" You spoke casually, trying to not make the situation awkward from randomly staring at him. "Your freckles."

He looked a bit stunned for a second there, trying to make sense of your response.

"What about them??" He asked looking intently into your eyes with some skepticism, awaiting for your further elaboration.

"Nothing, I guess- They just look a bit adorable in pair with your 'tough man' persona." You finally voiced your thoughts, smiling in a lighthearted and slightly playful way, not wanting to make him feel like you're making fun of him but also keeping cool in case he'd think of your comment as weird.

Scott got quiet for a second, processing your words. There was a visible surprise in his eyes as the sentence left your mouth.

Did he just get a compliment? About his freckles and his toughness? You officially flattered him!

He started to jumble his words a little as he once again involuntarily raised his arm to scratch the back of his neck, releasing some tension from his body.

"Well, uh-" His lips formed a smug yet a bit coy grin as he avoided your gaze for a second, his cheeks adopting a slightly pink tinge to them.

"What can I say-" He says, but then his train of thought seems to disappear. He really doesn't know what to say, which you notice and chuckle softly, endeared by leaving him speechless.

"It's all natural." He finally comes up with a response, puffing up his chest a little as he striked a nonchalant and smug pose, looking at his nails.

You grinned at him in a friendly manner, slightly charmed by his efforts to cover up how it got to him a little.

He seemed to get a bit thrown off his cool once he noticed you smiling at him warmly, and he felt the pressure to say something back to you in a similar manner.

"And, you, too-" Words spilled out of his mouth before he even had the proper chance to think them over. "I mean- My freckles. No- Your face. There's nothing bad on your face-"

You stared at him curiously and a bit amused at his attempts of forming a sentence, which only filled him with more distraction while he tried to voice his thoughts.

"So, in general, you're saying I'm adorable?" You decided to save him from the embarrassment by concluding what he has to say, but also putting him in even more compromising situation by putting it bluntly.

"Yes." He proudly nodded his head once he finally didn't have to stumble over his words and his thoughts were conveyed, but then he quickly stopped as he realized it might have been too forward coming from him. "I mean-"

You felt the corners of your lips curve in a flattered and amused smile as you heard him compliment you, even if slightly indirectly.

[Scott at the confessional]

"Well, I complimented them- That's just gonna make them like me more, right? I mean, they complimented me first, that must mean they at least like me to some degree!" He explained what happened as he fiddled with his hands in an analytical manner while speaking.

"That just makes it easier to manipulate them in any case!" He boasted slightly about his genius idea, although his tone of voice changed at the last words. He took a moment and continued to speak with slight hesitance and anxiety in his eyes which he tried to hide.

"But- Were they serious?? If my freckles are adorable, does that mean they think I'M adorable??" That question left him with a slightly wide-eyed realization, having to process his sudden, unimportant until now feelings about you, showing up and hitting him like a train.

(You both didn't compete on Total Drama, just some casual relationship stuff.)

Scott has been your boyfriend for a few weeks now.

He wasn't even quite sure how he happened to land upon you, let alone charm you with his wit and good looks.

He probably didn't go outside much, looking at his a bit closed off farm life and only started to recently get out to the real world.

He was very determined about his first relationship, treating it very seriously and focused on being the best boyfriend ever. You were the first person who reciprocated his feelings after all, so he treated you like royalty - to his abilities.

You thought his dedication to the relationship was sweet, and that's a big part of what you liked in him.

Because of his dorky personality you also felt quite comfy to let yourself loose and not be as anxious as you were with other people. You knew he wouldn't make fun of you, and would rather beat someone up for doing so.

And so, you on one of your hang-outs you proposed a trip to the beach.

Scott stopped for a moment, his eyes looking you up and down until he finally spoke in a slightly coy but interested tone.

"Trip to the beach, huh?" He smirked slightly, not being able to hide his excitement at the idea, but also slight anxiety before such an "achievement" in the relationship.

You rolled your eyes half-seriously as you smiled with amusement. You deducted why Scott seemed to be so happy about the proposition, which filled you with slight flattery.

"Yeah, sure, I'm up." Scott chimed in quickly. Of course he was very respectful of you, but he couldn't say he wasn't at least a bit interested in how you look like with more skin exposed to the pretty sun at the beach. "When do you wanna go?"

You shrug. "We can even go right now if you want." You suggested, not having any plans this particular day.

Scott grinned even more enthusiastically and muttered a quiet "yes!" when he thought you weren't listening.

You arrived at some secluded part of the beach, not wanting unnecessary eyes on both of you, distracting you from enjoying your day.

As you set up a little cozy corner in the sand with a big towel/blanket, Scott got up to get rid of his pants which hid a pair of red swim trunks underneath.

He was (respectfully) awaiting for you to do the grand reveal of your swimsuit as well.

You didn't leave him waiting for long as you casually began to take off your clothes.

Scott didn't mean to stare, but it was obvious he really took to heart that you trusted him to the point of spending a day at the beach with him, even if your relationship was still "fresh".

You were finally ready to dive into the water. You looked at Scott who was grinning while staring at you, but not in a creepy way. He looked more like a love-sick puppy with how he looked at you whole.

It flattered you. You weren't used to receiving such attention and the fact that it was from the boy you loved only made it more special.

"Nice swim-trunks." You teased slightly at you took a look at the intensely fiery red piece of clothing.

"I know, right?" He grinned, proud at the compliment you gave him. You really weren't sure whether he was aware of how 'fashionable' his choice of swimming trunks was, but it only made him more charming.

He then took a look at you, intending to say something nice back to you, but he hesitated a little, unsure of how to do it correctly.

"Am I allowed to say how well you look as well, or will it be shallow because you're in a swimsuit right now?" He stopped himself to think out loud, showing a thoughtful expression on his face, as if it was a really important question.

You chuckled softly, appreciating how he was still trying to be mindful even when complimenting you.

"I'll take it as a compliment nonetheless." You poked him in the nose playfully to assure him it's not a big deal, to which he grinned and his cheeks turned a bit red, matching his swim trunks.

You both spent a nice day at the beach, fooling around in the water and eating some snacks after, chilling on the blanket and watching the sunset.

(ok this one was kinda shitty n corny, i haven't been to the beach in like 3 years lmfao)

AITA for giving up on real life?

I (M 14) used to be a successful track runner, and was aiming for a sort of scholarship situation with that. There was a big track meet attended by talent scouts and even a big name of the industry - it was a huge chance! The big name approached me before the run and told me that he'd take me on as a protegé if I won the race!!

However, that conversation meant I missed my chance to go to the bathroom before the run. I was going to win first place, but I tripped. And pissed myself. In front of absolutely everyone.

It was terrible, I was so humiliated I quit running and withdrew from real life.

I get bullied at school now too. Since I've got nothing going for me, I spend my days escaping reality by playing Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games.

My sister thinks I'm a total loser - she was also at the track meet so she witnessed my worst moment. She brings it up too, so I don't even get to forget that. She makes fun of me for pissing myself, but she also complains that I don't run anymore. It doesn't make sense, but she's probably like 13 so she's still a baby anyway.

I don't plan on changing my lifestyle, since Finalizing Quest XXII is coming out today and it's supposed to be even better than the last one, but I figured I should ask. Figure out if my sister has a point or if she's just a mean thirteen year old.

TD;LR: Am I the Asshole for playing VR games instead of caring about real life after I was horribly humiliated at an important real life event?

So the guest list was announced a month ago and I am presuming it's been planned for a good while. I think Seth has been booked deliberately for extra promo for TOWL to coincide with the finale and new projects are usually announced for TWD off the back of the premier or finales of the spin offs. Perhaps an announcement is going to be made regarding Emily if there is a legit reason for her being there rather than just being another guest at the convention. It's too weird timing wise with the finale and the location being France where DD is being filmed. I just wonder if there's going to be some kind of crossover with DD as common denominator with Emily.

I agree 100% this was all planned for Emily and Seth to be there at that exact time. I hope it’s because she’s showing up in the finale or we will find out she’s alive! I have to be honest I’m always skeptical. I’ve been a part of TD since Season 6 and there’s been a lot of times we thought “This is it!” and been wrong so I always have my guard up. BUT between the Daryl Dixon spinoff and TOWL I feel like there’s actually a really good chance we could be right this time. Only time will tell! 🤞🏼

Olivia is 5’2 and my own personal headcanon is the Cody is the same height- with Jody being 4’11 and Oliver being 6ft (because of genetics in his family and the shortness then sorta but also not getting passed to his older sister) which makes me think of Jody and him as this meme

Olivia got to sit out of Niagara brawls due to their being an uneven amount of contestants(blainely originally not even being counted in the first place) and because again Chris’s personal favorite-would probs stay the same

Was voted out 5(before Sierra and after Duncan) after forming an alliance with Alejandro that she believed was legit,him convincing her that he could make cody vote with him and get Heather out,because naturally Sierra always votes with Cody,and after her jump out the plane and everything Heather confesses to Alejandro that she put a wrench in his plans and unconvinced Cody to vote with him,which in reality means Alejandro did plan on a final 4 with Cody Sierra and Olivia,but of course the first assumption in Olivia’s mind was “oh.he lied to me.” So before she jumped she gave him a slap,pre to the Knowledge that Heather revealed after her jump-he wouldn’t slap Alejandra in the Genderbend,because hitting a women is wrong in his eyes

Didn’t show up to the after show after her vote off,immediately recognizing the fame her and her brother little band thing got during her time at the season and already planning their first tour- same,except he watched the season finale from home rooting for Jody to pull out a win

Kept in touch with most of the cast during her days after the season,shopping with Lindsay and hanging out with Noah and Cody as they we’re definitely some of her favorite people on the plane- absolutely the same,the friendship with Jody continues even more once she meets his sister,becoming Estelle’s little sister too

Fairly OddParents

I'm working on a buffer for Origin of the Pixies and Frayed Knots chapters so they can alternate during the war. At the moment I'm posting content for other fandoms, but once the buffer is ready, these will roll out weekly. Hopefully by summer.

- Origin is caught up and ready for the war meeting next chapter, so we're just wrapping up Anti-Cosmo's school and relationship drama in Knots :) - We're in the era of 2016 draft chapters, so it's a combo of "Lots of stuff is already written" and "Lots of stuff needs to be updated."

Origin and Knots will update on Fridays when the time is right (alternating weeks).

The 130 Prompts wrapped up Arc 2 in December and is on hiatus.

If you missed the Arc 2 finale, check out "Grudge"- It's about Happy Peppy Gary and Crocker striking a dangerous deal and I think it's cute :)

Ideally, I'd like to finish the whole Come What May draft before I post more chapters (so we don't have more of these long lurches between chapters), and Reedfilter Rules is in a similar boat.

Origin and Knots are my priority, but once Come What May starts, I'd like to do weekly or bi-weekly updates until it's done.

Factor It In - I'm very happy with how the story has come out so far. It's fully outlined, but this is a "serious and fluffy" story and I've been on a "silly and angsty" streak lately, so the mood isn't there.

- I'd like to circle back to it soon, but don't want to post more chapters until I have a nice buffer. - I'd like to post again in autumn 2024 and keep up weekly updates for several months. Origin and Knots are higher priority, but I really like this story and look forward to more.

I have some WordGirl one-shot drafts I've been sitting on for months. I haven't been satisfied with them enough to post, but you might see them soon as I finalize them. There's no schedule for these, but they include:

- Local alien girl is SO brave about Rex's problems while they lie in the grass discussing love and culture - Local alien boy loses his fawn spots, comes of age, and hits up Hal Hardbargain for alien-strength deodorant - Character study for Victor Best (My horrible son) - Character study for pre-series Rex living on Hexagon (My somehow more horrible son) - Other drafts from 2018 that need polish

I so desperately want to show the world my "Hopelessly romantic life planner since he was born" x "She can't commit to anything including this" marriage of convenience superhero drama... He's oblivious... She's dying inside... He is so embarrassing... Do u understand my vision?

MCYT

- Dog's Life Session 2 will end with Chapter 30. I've finished up to Chapter 28 and just need to tweak the remaining chapters. It will then be on hiatus for a few months while I work on the Session 3 buffer and other projects.

Edit - Session 2 will actually be 36 chapters, so another month

Expecting 4 to 5 months of hiatus from regular updates with some intermission chapters a few weeks apart (Full moon arc, my beloved). I have 'fics I look forward to posting (including new multi-chapters that already have nice buffers and will post weekly), so there will be plenty of MCYT content, but it seemed wise to leave Dog's Life on break to avoid burnout. I hope you enjoy these new stories! When Dog's Life returns, it'll be with weekly updates for several months as per usual :)

My "first half of 2024" goal is to close out as many of my existing MCYT multi-chapters as I can. Thank you for your patience with multi-chapters that have slow updates- I plan to finish them soon :)

I recently completed For Sale: Bird Wings (Never Worn) with weekly updates and am on track to finish One and a Half Birds with weekly Friday updates.

After this, I would like to finish the last 2 to 3 chapters of Criminal Experience (which has always had Friday updates as well). I don't want to post the next chapter until I nail down the story's end, so there's been a delay, but I'm glad I've wrapped up other multi-chapters and I look forward to finishing this soon.

After this, I plan to post MCYT content Tuesdays and Sundays, leaving Fridays for my other fandoms.

What's on Tuesdays?

At the moment, Dog's Life for 7 more weeks. Session 2 ends with Chapter 30 on April 9th.

Edit: Chapter 36 on May 21st

I've started new multi-chapters while chasing inspiration bursts, but I held back from posting them, so now I have buffers for those. I look forward to sharing them throughout 2024. Two notable ones are:

- Chalaza - Quick story about Martyn arriving in New Star Station. Bdubs voice study, some practice writing short scenes, and this is the story that helped me nail down pixel person anatomy. ^ Highlights include Bdubs trotting around with Martyn's dissolved soul in a fishbowl and regaling Etho with tales of how the Phantom Dragon carries phantom hybrids in her mouth. Also, Martyn hides under Etho's couch for 4 days. - Herobrine's Guide to the Between Dimension - A meta story about my Between lore, hybrid anatomy, and hybrid culture. No plot, but I think it's fun.

These are expected to post Tuesdays while Dog's Life is on break :)

What's on Sundays?

At the moment, nothing- I'm posting on Fridays (weekly updates to One and a Half Birds for the next several weeks).

I've also got a draft called "Scar's Castle" that's about Grian doing chores during 3rd Life... we'll see if that turns out nice.

Now that Secret Life is over, I've been able to do more worldbuilding and story planning for Neighborhood Watch AU. I plan to post some one-shots soon. Highlights include:

"Goodchild Oscar" - Oscar Goodchild's lovely parents put out a hit on his soulmate. He drags Grian around the Hearts Club Ball in his attempts to thwart it. Title's subject to change, but this is a fun one :) "They Never Found the Desert" - Local Green Life parrot can't get Red Life soulmate motivated for anything. Desperate times call for desperate measures. "Ethograms, Etho Slab, and Something About Ethics (Probably)" - Joel studies wolves... and the single(?) dad who keeps coming around with his kids.

I've also been working on the big multi-chapter for this universe, which centers around the Clocker family: Arsenic Waltz. It's fully outlined and I'm 5 chapters into the buffer, but it doesn't feel "fun" to read yet, so... Hmm.

- If anyone wants to beta read the first 10k words where Martyn arrives at the Clocker residence and meets his soulmate Cleo for the first time, lmk? Been struggling with the pacing of action vs. world lore for months and it'd be nice to get outside thoughts. - My plan was to start posting in April after Dog's Life ends, but it might need more time. With weekly updates, it should finish in December or January, but I'd like a nice buffer first. Possibly, this story will start in the summer and end in early 2025.

EDIT - I ended up killing all these darlings and moving them to a separate story, which will be released at a later time. The pacing was just not working :)

Additional multi-chapters to wrap up:

Closed Door Policy - Can't finish until Criminal Experience is done. Will post Tuesdays or Sundays as appropriate (Expecting 2 or 3 more chapters).

Dear Future Captain - Waiting for Dog's Life to catch up to this part of the timeline (Between Sessions 4 and 5?) - I like my draft for Chapter 3, but I'd rather wrap up other stories first.

With Acid In Your Eyes - Outlined and expecting 10 chapters. This is a high-tension story I was excited for, but it's on the backburner while finalizing lore, social dynamics, and plot points. It was ambitious to post this one before things were solid, but I look forward to returning when I'm ready :)

Since you respond here quicker than ao3 and had to look up what was my question, why won't X give himself a new name post-tMFoA? I can get the explanation with Hope. (And had X had been named Hope in au, I really would’ve think Angela would scoff at the reminder from Hope the person, with the seed of light being grown by blood and suffering)

But this is actually me segue on what will X and Angela would name BH? Would it be the same as Ayin, since one is a clone and the other is his creation? (Weirdass family tree there) or one or both of them have better naming sense than him?

What about Carmen anyways, how's her naming skill? And why not throw The Distortion, I guess. Because who names them, the distorted themselves? TD? the patron librarian (and lcb sinners)?

I was mostly thinking X and Angela adopting BH post-AiP (but an au of X being part of Library founding would be neat in a different ask) but wasn’t sure how far BH is cause Angela in her bad end has ridiculously long hair, versus LoR's short hair. Cause X's fate is nebulous if he wants to live long, or died from the battle or from clone degradation.

So potentially we could have Angela adopting BH with fond memories of X, X lived long enough to love and care for BH but still cut short anyways, or none of those two and I'll finally get X/Angela slowburn.

Good questions all around! And quite the complex and interesting ones too, although I hope you'll forgive me for not replying too quickly, even though it was quicker than the time it would've taken on AO3, ahah.

Essentially, my personal reasoning for why X wouldn't change his name is that whatever he would choose wouldn't be him anymore. Being "Hope" or "Ayin 2" or any other name simply wouldn't have had the relevancy to him that X does; simply changing his name would be too easy after everything he went through, in a way. There would be no struggle in just deciding to be "Hope" from now on, but it simply isn't who he was. He was never the hope that the Corporation's denizens needed, and he wouldn't stand up to Ayin's legacy and power, he was simply an unknown factor in an otherwise perfectly planned equation. An 'X' factor, if you will.

Hence, X's name to him signifies that battle that he had to endure. It signifies that he was simply a variable that had no real purpose beyond his assigned role, a failed clone with little abilities compared to his original version and with a far meeker attitude, unimportant enough to the grand scheme of everything and everyone that he wasn't even given a proper name.

But more than just that, it especially signifies that he survived. In spite of all of these hurdles, in spite of being a faceless, nameless clone with a singular task and no grand purpose after it, in spite of being intended to simply die after his purpose was complete, he not only lived, but he carved himself into a person. The name X, then, is a proof that he survived everything that was thrown at him and gave a meaning to a nameless, faceless clone, just as Ayin gave meaning to the hollow word that 'promise' is in the City when he promised Carmen and went through the unimaginable for her.

As a last note, I think X wouldn't like discarding his name because, despite all of the negative memories associated with it, it's the name he came to recognise for himself as well. For all of the pain it holds, it holds a lot of happiness and relief as well, a constant reminder that regardless of how bleak it is, he can make it out again, just as he made it in the Corporation after countless (mostly forgotten) restarts to the Script.

As for your second question, hmmm...I think Angela would have great difficulty finding names, and honestly, so would X, seeing how both of them are either close to Ayin's method of thinking in X's case and straight-up Ayin's daughter in Angela's case, which means both of their creative skills are likely a...dud, to say the least. Still, I reckon that eventually they can settle on something that they'd find from their books, such as Aqua because X is a sentimental fool and the name reminds him of Angela's hair (plus the name is semi-neutral so whether or not the BH is a boy or a girl it'd work). But yeah, if the other Librarians were around, they'd likely be the ones to find a suitable name while Angela and X argue together about how weird/not weird their relationship/family tree is.

As for Carmen, considering she's the exact opposite of Ayin, I'd say her naming skills are vastly superior, and that she/The Distortion is likely the one that picks Distortion names, seeing how most Distortions aren't exactly conscious enough to pick their own names. If we go by the theory that Abnormality names were also spawned from Carmen's subconscious/Bucket, then she seems to have quite the palette of names to choose from, definitely something she'd be sad she couldn't transfer to her daughter, hehe.

If I recall correctly, Angela's bad ending occurs some thirteen years after Roland's defeat, so in such a scenario, I think X would definitely choose Angela repairing his wounds and degradation so he could not only live with her, but with the BH. I think X isn't averse to living a long life, actually, but I also think he would wish to die at some point. He's evaded Death long enough now, and even if he decides to grow old with Angela by his side, he has to pay his due one day, and he'd like to come to terms with it on his own instead of being forcefully evicted out of his mortal coil.

In other words, yes, I think that if Angela and X adopt the BH, you'll finally get your Angela/X slowburn, kehehe.

I covered the fact Wayne represents the Frogs' logos (with Emma being the pathos but I'm still trying to decide who's ethos. Bowie? Julia? Julia misquotes the Dalai Lama and talks about goddesses and crystals, so probably her?) but it's really noticeable how malleable a person Wayne is. In Ep04, while he sets himself up for being on the offense with Raj, Bowie, and why-ever they brought MK along, when it was obvious they were better off defending, he was like. defense it is. As he is a sports boy, it'd be assumed he's only good at one position (as most goalies couldn't just become a center fielder as a sub, since they don't train for the same things), especially a less "glamourous" position such as defense (in reality it does not matter, but people pretend offense players are better) He's an exceptionally good sport, which is not something we can say about all the other sports-based/jock TD characters.

It's also to note that Wayne is the first person on the team to call out MK on being a bad team player. Wayne doesn't usually look mad, but he did NOT look happy at MK refusing to huddle up and suggest there's no reason to think strategy. He's completely ok with Emma taking over and picking roles tho, so he's pretty damn comfortable with not always being the leader (as noted with Ep02, where he adapts to Emma's plan. have I mentioned those two are such team leaders for the Frogs? A million times? Oh sorry)

There's a notable subversion with their paired identities for Wayne and Raj. Wayne is the captain, while Raj is [one of the] alternate captain[s]. Essentially, Raj is Wayne's vice president. However, Wayne is a lot more reliant on Raj, than their team identities are. Throughout the season, Wayne asks Raj's opinion on everything (notably in Ep01, as one of his first defining characterizations), but Raj doesn't as often do the same. In Ep06, Raj is the one to immediately leave the catapult, while Wayne made no motion to be the one to separate themselves. He also didn't comment on Bowie calling the two of them in their "cozy", (which Raj defends, saying they're teammates, so) because that sort of attachment is so normal to Wayne he doesn't feel a need to react to people commenting on it, while Raj does. In Ep03, Wayne receives a [long] pep talk from Raj, but Raj never needed one himself going first of Emma's suggestion (or it happened off screen, but like, if it did there'd be the time for a joke where someone says "WE ALREADY DID THIS"). And also the bit in Ep06 where Raj explains Wayne has a way too stressed face when pooping (note: Raj?)

There's also the long-running plot point where Wayne is pretty concerned with what Raj thinks of him, afraid that Raj is afraid he's homo/biphobic, and that's the driving reason that Raj didn't come out to him like. Immediately. The fear of "well he tells me everything, if he won't tell me this, it's clearly something I did", but due to the 13 episode time limit of the show, Wayne didn't have time to make this insecurity about him and was just increasingly unsubtle, never really trying to force him out.

I know it's super easy and super fun to reduce the two to "omg sports himbos <3" but Wayne's got some emotional intelligence on him, and he is not a carbon copy of Raj, and it's much more than just the lack of a gay love interest. He'll always take the role of leader, but if someone else has a successful idea, he'll hop down and let them take the wheel. Paired with his leadership, friendly attitude, and general respect for everyone around him (not to Keith tho) I can see him making finale a lot more than I can see Raj making finale.

I think having the boys on separate teams and having Raj leave pre-merge could be really impactful. Wayne waits at the cabin for Raj to come back and tell him who left, but he just... never returns. Wayne wasn't at the ceremony, so he didn't even get to say goodbye. Wayne wants to throw the challenge but someone (Emma, Bowie, Julia, etc) tells him to snap out of it because Raj would be furious Wayne gave up on himself. And Wayne has to pick himself up off the ground and win for Raj. Like the Katie and Sadie micro-arc, except give Wayne more time to suffer within himself before being told to stop, as well as not axe him with no actual development. I think that kind of emotional rupture could change my brain chemistry.

I feel like Priya might quit instead of being eliminated.

I’m surprised she made it this far. I mean, considering she WON last season. You’d think everyone would be after her, but NOPE.

I can’t say I’m too mad about that though. She’s definitely one of the more interesting characters to me, and Im glad they actually explore that instead of ditching her. It’s just not talked about a lot from what I’ve seen because she’s linked to Caleb.

I actually don’t think this is a bad thing. Heck, I’d argue she has one of the most normal crushing habits of TD characters. Priya spent her whole life being a great player and reality TV, and parents have proved they won’t stop putting her in these things. She wants to make her own choices but lacks the self righteousness to, to the point where she can’t tolerate her feelings being insulted. AKA, the Millie incident in Season 1. (Though anyone would react the way she did, so fair)

This is why I think her romance with Caleb actually kinda works in the season. Aside from the aesthetic of the first boot and the first place of the first season. They grow as people from each other. They actually talk, they bond, they get to open up about stuff. It doesn’t feel rushed like it does with Ripper and Axel.

I also grew to actually like Caleb. I had no strong feelings for him in the first season. For obvious reasons. But I just love that they didn’t do a repeat.

I love that he isn’t a malicious person like Alejandro or Justin, or heck, even Julia. He’s not using his looks for malice. Yes he wants to ally with Priya to get ahead in the game, but he never planned to hurt her or get her booted or crush her spirit in any way. Was it wrong to use her? Yes. But considering what we’ve seen from the show, he could’ve been a whole lot worse.

He’s actually a nice guy who is just holding an image and wanting to get ahead in a competitive environment. Which makes the heartbreak in Episode 8 actually really sad?? In an environment like this, of course he’d use her at the start. It was an honest mistake. And he feels bad about it because he actually grew to like her back.

Considering I HIGHLY DOUBT Priya would be finale again, I can definitely see this at least changing Priya’s POV. Whether or not she and Caleb get together, I’d be fine with either, it’s clear this season has changed them both.

This is why I think Priya is going to quit the game. Because right now, no one’s really targeting her. (Which is odd, but whatever)

And I don’t think she’d walk away out of a depression. Rather, out of a self-righteous‘I’m standing up for myself’ moment.

Not at Caleb. At the game. The game made Caleb try to use her, and she might realize that. She does not need her parents or anyone to tell her what to do with her life, especially when she has friends, goals of her own, a (maybe) boyfriend, and dignity. She’s allowed to go to med school. She’s allowed to have a crush. She’s allowed to just be a teen darn it!

Caleb and Millie would definitely help her out. Caleb especially since Millie isn’t here anymore.

I honestly really hope Priya walks out of the game on her own accord, paying Chris with the million she won, and going off to live her own life where reality TV can not dictate it ever again.
