#Then of course the potion wears off and Noah goes back to being just as prickly and standoffish as he was before.
Note
TD World Tour AU, where Noah doesn't tell Owen that Alejandro is an eel in London... In Area 51, Noah is accidentally splashed with an alien truth potion (which wears off after a few days) and he talks to Owen... Owen asks Noah what he truly thinks about Alejandro, and Truth-Potion Affected Noah says this: "I have mixed feelings for Alejandro. He's a brilliant, interesting guy and I like him, but I don't trust him. He's like a slippery eel dipped in grease, swimming in motor oil. Basically, Heather with social skills. Wait a minute, why am I telling you this?!"... What if Alejandro secretly heard Noah call him all those conflicting things + Alejandro also learns that Noah is affected with an alien truth potion? 👽
Alright, you got me. I'm an absolute sucker for truth potion plots, especially when the character(s) effected by them are usually either pathological liars or incredibly secretive- of which Noah absolutely falls into the second category, given he shares so little personal information.
I'll gloss over why Noah declined to shit-talk Alejandro in London (though there's so many ways this change in behaviour could be justified) since the focal point of this hypothetical centred around their time in Nevada, so let's start from the beginning of the Area 51 challenge.
Area 51:
Before we start, it'll have to be established that no one was eliminated in London. Let's say that the majority vote went towards Duncan (team CIRRRRH voted him out immediately because they found his re-admission to the competition unfair, I guess. I imagine he'd also vote himself, if not as a plan to escape the competition he'd been actively skiving from, then just as an act of spite) but Chris instead claimed it was a rewards challenge- much like he does in Greece- because he doesn't want to let Duncan slip away again so soon.
I see no reason to alter the first part of the challenge- the sneaking into Area 51 portion- since team CIRRRRH's course of entry is fairly straightforward. Noah's presence doesn't make much of a difference to how it would play out; the majority of them throw their rocks and run, Owen gets lasered over the fence and Owen-napped, ect ect.
When both teams have managed to make their way into the Black Box Warehouse, Noah immediately suggests they should prioritise rescuing Owen. Tyler's quick to agree, since he's a firm believer in the "no man left behind" mentality (and he probably makes a not-so-subtle jab towards Noah for his chance of tune compared to London, where both he and Owen did leave Tyler behind) leaving Duncan and Alejandro to split from the group- Duncan in search of Gwen, and Alejandro just takes the opportunity to finally be free from his 'incompetent teammates' and prioritises finding an artifact.
Noah and Tyler come across the contraption Owen's trapped in, Tyler punches it in a futile effort to break it open, and the face hugger cube drops into Noah's hands. This is where the point of divergence comes into play; Tyler has his E.T. moment with one of the face huggers, but Noah- who's a tad bit more observant than Alejandro, and used to dodging surprise attacks from his various older siblings (and Izzy)- anticipates his own face hugger attack and promptly starts a game of cat-and-mouse with a taser alien hot on his heels.
The commotion of which attracts the rest of his team. Alejandro and Duncan arrive on the scene to see Tyler being electrocuted by an alien and Noah running in circles evading another.
Duncan attempts to rip the face hugger from Tyler's face, finding success at the cost of sending Tyler trampling into Owen's captive contraption (essentially taking Alejandro's canonical place in this scene) and inadvertently freeing Owen.
Meanwhile, Alejandro swipes up the nearest box he can find and snags the alien chasing Noah, who's still very loudly panicking as he flees, and succeeds! The alien is swiftly captured into the box, netting team CIRRRRH their artifact, and Noah promptly goes careening into the nearest tower of junk in his face hugger-fuelled hysteria. This causes another box to topple from the peak of the tower, landing directly on Noah's head and spilling its contents onto the bookworm- glass vials filled with a mysterious, luminescent cobalt blue liquid shatter into pieces drenching Noah in whatever they contained. (i.e. truth potion.)
Owen has his false-amnesia moment, characterised by his Joker makeover, and Alejandro enacts his revenge post-hypnotic suggestion after being addressed as "Al" one too many times.
Noah, understandably, swiftly objects to Owen's treatment and demands that Alejandro snap him out of it. Alejandro concedes, and Owen's brought back to himself. At least, for a moment, before the fatigue of having his mind messed with sends Owen into near-catatonia (the same as canon), meaning he has to be ferried through the Warehouse and back to the Jet by Alejandro and Duncan.
Things carry on canonically from there; Noah's just sort of there for the most part, though there'd be a minor hint to his newfound proclivity for honesty. Something along the lines of him giving an uncharacteristically honest answer to Owen as to who he's voting- Tyler, of course, since he was the one who ultimately threw the challenge for them... and also because Tyler still holds some resentment towards Noah for what happened in London, and Noah feels guilty about it every time he looks at the jock. Wait, why did he say that?
Sometime between this and the elimination scene, Noah wipes the truth-goop off of himself, but not before the effects have already started.
Tyler's voted out, yada yada yada.
The Jet:
Thus begins the start of "Picnic at Hanging Dork". Team CIRRRRH, consisting of just Alejandro, Duncan, Owen and Noah, are slumming it up in the Economy Cabin. Alejandro tries to rally his team by asking how to break apart Courtney and Heather's tentative co-operation. Owen suggests having Alejandro seduce Heather, since it worked for both Bridgette and Leshawna. Duncan makes his "Babe Olympics" comment. Noah pipes up that playing with someone's feelings is pretty scummy, even for someone competing for a million dollars.
Alejandro takes Noah's reluctance towards his methodology poorly; he hadn't spoken up before, when Alejandro had utilized the same strategy against other girls- and even Owen noticed that, so surely Noah did too- so why was he to outwardly against him using the same tricks? Duncan agrees, and offers ''his'' idea of having Alejandro flirt with Courtney to throw both her and Heather off their games (since Heather has an obvious crush on Alejandro), and things follow canon.
Then, the scene between Alejandro and Courtney happens. Noah scoffs at the display from the side lines, prompting Owen to ask him why he's so against Alejandro's plan.
"I mean, you never said anything before, when he flirted with Bridgette and Leshawna." Owen comments, light-hearted in nature but with an underlying questioning tone.
Noah's eyes flicker with a cobalt glow, easily mistaken for a trick of the light, and he speaks without even thinking.
"Yeah, because I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Bridgette was happenstance, and Leshawna's whole deal could've been a coincidence, or some massive misunderstanding. But this?" Noah extends an accusing hand out towards a smug looking Alejandro, then pans it over to a flattered Courtney, "He's outright toying with Courtney's feelings after she was cheated on in front of an international audience. It's scummy."
Owen nods in understanding, momentary contemplation evident in the pouted curve of his lips, and he chimes in.
"Does that mean you don't like Al?"
"I never said that."
"Well, how do you feel about him, then?"
Again, a flash of blue light against the hickory backdrop of Noah's eyes, and he responds thoughtlessly.
"I guess I have mixed feelings about him. On the one hand, he's slippery, like an eel dipped in grease, swimming in motor oil. He's like if you took all of the worst aspects of Heather, wrapped them up in a pretty package, and gave them social skills..." He holds his hands out before him in a scale-like manner, with the left tipped downwards and tie right raised by his chin. Then, the two hands swap positions.
"And on the other hand, he's brilliant. I've never met anyone as talented as Alejandro; he's smart, he's athletic, he's funny. It's almost unfair just how perfect everything about him is- even his face is perfect. It's ridiculous! Infuriating, even. It's so hard to dislike him, even when I know he's bad news, but that doesn't mean I trust him."
Owen stands slack jawed beside his best friend, both impressed and stunned at the raw honesty of Noah's tirade. Noah, now a little more aware of himself, realises that he's said more than he intended to- more than he thinks he's ever spoken in one go throughout the entirety of Total Drama. He's not usually one for speeches, after all, let alone honest ones.
He's always been the type to play his cards close to his chest, so why...?
"I, uh, didn't mean to go off like that."
And he also didn't mean to admit it, either. What was going on?
The look Owen gives him is, in a word, vivid. The blonde has a shit-eating grin stretching across his face, a sort of elated smugness practically glowing from his features.
"Sounds like someone has a cruuuush!~"
What? No? No! Not at all, where would Owen even get that idea?!
Noah splutters to correct Owen's assumption (to disastrous results, because he does sort-of has a crush on Alejandro, so the truth potion doesn't allow him to outright deny it), and in his preoccupied state he misses how a calculating pair of sage green eyes never seems to stray from him.
Alejandro has a lot to think about in regards to a certain cynic, it seems.
#I'd like to apologise for taking this idea and running with it.#Cutting myself off here before I breach 2k+ words or else I'll be here all day.#Sort of entered actual Writing Mode at the end there instead of Outline Mode but this idea is. So Full Of Potential I couldn't help myself.#But from here it'd basically be Alejandro using his newfound knowledge of Noah's crush on him to his advantage.#Whilst Noah's doing his best (and failing) to deny that he has any feelings for Alejandro.#Eventually leading to the two of them having a Bonding Moment where Alejandro gets Noah to divulge some personal information.#And in turn- or an effort to garner some trust (to be abused later)- Alejandro also lets himself be vulnerable towards Noah.#Something something Alejandro tries to use Noah as a pawn but ends up catching feelings of his own.#Then of course the potion wears off and Noah goes back to being just as prickly and standoffish as he was before.#A point of conflict maybe? Imagine bearing your soul out to someone only for them to close themself off to you not even days afterwards.#...Also imagine being practically forced to divulge information about yourself to someone you don't trust because of a truth potion.#Oh yeah. That's some good angst material right there.#Especially is you have Alejandro be- if not fully aware- than at least suspect that Noah's not being agreeable on his own terms.#Anon why have you given me The Thoughts?? I can't keep brainstorming AUs when I already have fics to work on!!#ophe's ranting in the tags again#total drama#td noah#td alejandro#team chris is really really really really hot#alenoah#-ish#silly ideas#other's ideas#long post#replies#kinda drafty in here (posts from the drafts)

GENERAL INFORMATION
Full Legal Name: Emma Noémie Vanity
Nickname(s): None if you know what’s good for you.
Age: 20
Gender & Pronouns: Cisgender female & she/her
Allegiance: Neutral
Status: Pureblood
Sexuality: Bisexual, with a preference towards women. Emma will seek out a woman if she is hoping for a good time, but men have their uses. If there is something to gain she will spend her time with a man--- whatever that reason may be; good publicity for being seen with someone, spending her time with someone who has connections to whatever it is she may be interested in, etc. Sometimes she might be surprised, but Emma is a selfish creature and has found she’s enjoyed herself more with a woman in bed with her. The Slytherin knows one day she will have to be wed to a man to carry on with the family, so for now Emma is simply enjoying herself with whoever shows the most promise at the time.
Date of Birth: November 2nd, 1957
Zodiac Sign: Scorpio
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
APPEARANCE
Faceclaim: Madelaine Petsch
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 119 lbs
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Light brown
Noticeable Features: Naturally red hair which is exceptionally striking.
Typical Outfit or General Fashion Sense: Emma dresses to impress, but the colors she sticks to are usually dark or neutral tones. She’s always wearing heels to give her an edge on her height, even if it’s just to go to Potions Class.
HISTORY
Hometown: Chelmsford
Financial Status: Incredibly wealthy
Spoken Languages: English and French
Dream Job: After having a very successful internship over the summer, Emma doesn’t believe in a ‘dream job’. Once her time at Hogwarts is over she will graduate and immediately start her climb up the ladder at the Ministry in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. At first it will start off with just busy desk work--- helping people throughout the Department who need it. Determined to make her mark fair and square without people saying Emma paved her career with the help of anyone pulling strings for her. Her goal is to make her way to the International Event Coordination Team within at least a year of working at the Ministry--- maybe two. Her next step would then become the Head of the Event Coordination Team and have her own department within the Department along with her own set of staff. Emma’s goal is to achieve such a title before she has her second child because she certainly would never stop working to be a stay at home parent.
However, Emma is aware Quidditch teams are looking at her and with it being her final year teams would be looking to recruit her before she officially graduates so she’d be signed onto a team and can start up once summer begins. While the thought will be certainly tempting for her, Emma will end up turning down Puddlemere United (a very difficult decision for her, knowing how proud it’d make her father to say his daughter played on the same team he did) which would have been the only team she’d even consider, but it’s her life and that isn’t how Emma wants to spend it--- no matter how much she loves to play Quidditch. Through her job at the Ministry she will still keep up the hobby.
Vices: Emma doesn’t believe in bad habits. She barely drinks unless it’s socially, and never enough to risk making a fool of herself.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Mother: Yvonne Vanity née Dubois (Socialite)
Father: Carter Vanity (Former Chaser for the team Puddlemere United; current Death Eater)
Sibling(s): N/A
Pet(s): A snow white cat named Sylvester.
Grandparent(s): Amélie and Gérard Dubois on her mother’s side. Eliza and Noah Vanity are on her father’s side. Emma is close to both sides of her family and visits them with her parents as frequently as she can.
Cousin(s): She has a few on both sides of her family, some she’s closer to more than others.
MAGICAL ABILITIES
Wand: Rowan, Kelpie Hair, and 12.25 inches
Patronus: Emma cannot produce a patronus and likely will not have a reason to bother learning for quite some time, but whenever she finally casts it it will take the shape of a viper.
Boggart: At this exact moment, Emma’s boggart would take the form of a Death Eater. She knows nothing of this obscure group who goes around causing destruction--- granted their targets seem to be directed more towards those who aren’t purebloods or those who don’t openly uphold the values and traditions expected in this day of age. Nonetheless, these extremists are hurting and killing people. Who knows who could get caught in the crossfire of things? Emma has no interest in the war and would like to keep herself firmly away from it entirely.
OWLS: Charms (Outstanding), Care for Magical Creatures (Acceptable), Defense Against the Dark Arts (Exceeds Expectations), Potions (Exceeds Expectations), Transfiguration (Outstanding), Ancient Runes (Outstanding), and History of Magic (Outstanding).
BIOGRAPHY
For the first part of Emma’s life Southern France was the place she called home. Growing up in a large manor set back just far enough from the ocean the young girl could see the water from her bedroom window. With a father who played Quidditch for a living and a Socialite of a mother who was around more to help the nanny of the time with Emma, Yvonne thought it would be the perfect opportunity to shape her daughter into the spitting image of herself. At first it seemed easy enough--- while stubborn to a fault since the moment Emma could get a word out, she was the perfect daughter. Charming enough to hold a conversation with anyone about anything (even though Emma has always despised small talk), beautiful enough to wear anything and look spectacular, and a clear ambition which showed even at a young age the Vanity heir was going to go far in life. Yvonne saw herself in her only child and couldn’t be more thrilled, that is until she learned her daughter would much rather go out and play Quidditch rather than sit around and have tea parties with her friends.
Carter introduced his daughter to his pride and joy thinking she’d be bored with it--- after the first game he figured Emma would never want to go again. He never expected his daughter to attend every single game through her childhood, let alone find passion in the sport herself to pursue a spot on a team when she got old enough to attend school.
For the first four years of her schooling Emma attended Beauxbatons School of Magic. The school was her home and Emma found a close circle of friends and cousins who she attended with. She loved her education and pushed to be at the top of her class--- perhaps she didn’t do the best, at least not every time, but the girl never allowed her grades to slip. Emma had always been hard on herself, even worse than her parents. Her friends were jealous Emma had so much freedom at such a young age--- neither parent dictated every aspect of her life like most did, especially when it came to the daughter of the family. No, the family saw no reason to be breathing down their daughter’s neck when Emma herself had a stricter set of rules for herself than they could likely come up with. She was tough on herself, but Emma refused to allow any slip ups which people could hold over her.
The summer after her fourth year wasn’t a particularly favored one. Usually her summers were spent enjoying trips with her family and friends. Shopping and hours lounged out on the Vanity’s own private beach. Emma said goodbye to everything she could call home and her family packed everything up to move to England. Even with her persistence Emma couldn’t bring her parents to stay, her father claiming the move would be good for them. She had no idea about her father’s ties to Voldemort’s group of Death Eaters--- Carter preferring to keep his daughter in the dark about his less than pleasant activities he attended to when Emma wasn’t around to notice.
Hogwarts wasn’t particularly a bad school--- it was highly talked about even as far away as France. It just was full of new people and Emma had to readjust to a whole new life. She was a survivor at heart and forced herself to adapt--- forced to find a home in Slytherin, and find one she did. The redhead quickly settled into her studies and made the Quidditch team with no question. It took her a bit longer to find a group of friends she felt comfortable with because it took Emma longer than most to warm up to someone, but she found a few who she held close. The Slytherin even found another Slytherin who fancied her interest, a boy two years her senior. They dated through the year and the summer before her sixth year Sebastian asked Emma’s father for a betrothal to his only daughter. He wasn’t expecting Emma to come storming into Carter’s study, demanding to know why he’d ask her father rather than the person he’d be marrying after Emma’s graduation. Refusing to start a relationship with someone who didn’t put her on equal ground with themselves, Emma kicked him to the curb, right in front of her father who tells the story proudly to others.
Her sixth year was easier--- Emma was used to the school and professors she had. She spent the year building up her résumé for her internship at the Ministry she desired for the summer. Of course Emma was accepted, but that didn’t keep her from working hard. The Slytherin saw her future and Emma liked what she saw, she just had to be patient and make her way through school. With her final year at Hogwarts on the horizon Emma plans to focus on her studies and hopefully have another smooth year to give her a pleasant kick start off from graduation. Maybe she’ll loosen up to actually slow down and enjoy the last year of her still being just a kid, but if you ask Emma it wouldn’t be likely.

the gangsey and a halloween party for the halloween prompts !!
I have a prompt for a Halloween party already but I will save that one for TFC and do this one as TRC.
Henry Cheng absolutely throws a halloween party.
To assume he would not to be hosting the ultimate halloween soiree is a sick misunderstanding of who Henry is as a person.
And to assume it wouldn’t be themed....well that would just be downright sinful.
This year’s theme for Henry’s annual halloween bash is “magic.” He finds this quite funny considering the main attendees will consist of one magician, a boy who can magically dream magical things into reality, a magical power source, some sort of young magic prince boy, and a fucking ghost. It’s hilarious. It’s an absolute riot. If the rest of the people who would be attending knew this information the gang could have just showed up as themselves if they wanted to. But alas, it’s costume mandatory and Ronan has already threatened to not come twice over it.
Gansey shows up dressed as a historically accurate man from the era of the Salem Witch Trials. This is not surprising. He is also prepared, journal in hand, with a list of possible causes of the trials and a speech on why the trials, at their core, were an attack on women. This is actually less surprising than the costume.
Noah dresses up as Mickey Mouse circa Fantasia which is both cute and frightening. Cute because he looks adorable. Frightening because when he ghosty glitches out for a hot second he looks like the most demonic terrifying Mickey Mouse anyone has ever seen. When Henry complains about having nightmares from it for the next month it’s absolutely justified.
Blue brings a crystal ball “for irony” and claims she’s dressed as a “psychic” even though the only difference between her outfit for the party and any of her other outfits is maybe a more fierce cat eye? But the crystal ball is a nice touch and Henry is completely enamored with the humor of it so he lets it slide.
If it weren’t for Adam, Ronan probably would not have shown up to the party at all. But Adam had off from work for once and he really did want to try to make more of an effort to be friends with Henry considering his closeness with Gansey, Blue, and now Noah. The thing about Henry was that he was a bit blunt and a bit overly friendly. But Adam sort of liked it in an odd way. So Adam decides they’re going. Which means Ronan shows up in Adam’s red Coca Cola tee shirt with a wand in hand. "Ha. Ha.” is Adam’s response, but sue him if he thinks Ronan looks nice in a shirt he only really ever wore once anyway.
Adam dresses up as an exaggerated Merlin with a fake beard that Ronan dreamed sparkles into for the laugh of it all. He has the big floppy hat and the staff. It’s ridiculous but he sort of likes pretending he’s actually some all powerful being. It’s truly a shame he doesn’t realize how much power he actually holds.
Henry, the host himself, dresses up as an actual magician. He wears a top hat, a very very expensive suit with the lovely flaps at the back and red lining, and a wand. He prepared for this party for months by learning magic tricks over time including all the classic card tricks as well as quite a few gimmicky ones like pulling a stuffed rabbit out of his hat. He entertains party guests with these but mostly messes them up. He makes up for it by insisting he’s not great with these tricks but he’s “magical in bed” with a wink.
The rest of the guests at the party are mostly an assortment of Hogwarts looking kids dressed in their Aglionby uniforms with an added scarf. The drink of the night is called “magic potion” which Adam is pretty sure is lethal after he feels heavily tipsy after about two and a half cups.
Gansey of course decides to play mom and does not drink. Blue on the other hand gets blasted off like two drinks max because of her small stature. She ends up drunkenly telling everybody her mom is a psychic. She ends the night by getting up on the table, yelling some nonsense that nobody can understand, and smashing the ball on the floor. Everybody is shocked for thirty quiet seconds before they all erupt in hoots, hollers, and applause. Gansey literally throws Blue over his shoulder, apologizes to Henry for the mess, and takes her home to sleep it off.
Ronan, who actually can hold too much liquor for his age, is three drinks in before he even starts to feel anything. Meanwhile, his lightweight boyfriend has gained some major magical suave points as he starts whispering in Ronan’s ear how hot he thinks he looks in his tee shirt. Ronan is unsure what the call is on popping a boner while Adam is wearing a long white beard and is actually concerned he might develop some weird kink over this. He downs two more cups of the drink in succession to try to take the edge of that nightmare before spending the rest of the party making out with Adam in the corner until Adam texts Gansey to pick them up. Gansey, who is just thrilled Adam is asking him for something, is there in minutes to take them home. Best uber service ever.
Noah comes and goes from the party. Literally. Sometimes he is there, sometimes he is not. When he does appear, it’s usually right beside Henry and spooks the ever living shit out of him. Which is very embarrassing when he’s in front of party guests whispering under his breath to the air beside him, “Noah, you gotta start magic poofing across the hall and then coming up to me, okay?” But then he feels bad because Noah feels bad and ends up in a quiet room with him showing him all his stupid tricks which Noah finds absolutely delightful even when Henry does fuck up. And listen, if Noah uses what actual ghost energy he has to make Henry’s tricks go right for the rest of the night, nobody but Noah will ever know.
