So uhm... I did a thing...
✨Character Info Template✨
Been meaning to do this a long time ago (and actually started it but never finished it, lol) as a way to share some more information about my ocs without needing to use a custom page theme, but mostly because I haven't found any page theme that looks exactly as I want and allows this much customization.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are two versions and both are almost exactly the same; but the example shown in the left has an 'appearance' section which is small and has few quick facts regarding the oc's appearance; while the example on the right has a 'moodboard' section instead which allows you to add more info about your oc.
You can change every section/title to fit your needs like I did in the examples below; I personally removed some categories as well and got rid of some connections as this oc doesn't have that many close friends/partners to fill the original template. However, I also included an extra separated 'connections' section in the download in case you want to add more people and more information.
I recommend you stick to square-shaped pictures so it's easier to fit them to each section. Also if and when you edit the information or section titles, please select only one line at a time to replace it so you don't lose the text format. (Titles shouldn't change because that's a single format/font within the same text box, but should it change you can always hit ctrl+z hehe) When you're done, I strongly recommend you save this as a .png instead of .jpg so it's the best possible quality!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least, this is a .psd file. So you'll need either Photoshop (I did this with Photoshop Portable, but it supports newer versions of PS and it *should* support older versions too) or Photopea to open and edit this file.
Credits: Adobe Photoshop, Inter font, Golften Vintage font
>DOWNLOAD< (patreon but free :p)
(note: I'm posting this with my gaming blog because I think my fellow gamers might be interested in this, but please consider giving credits to me if you use this template by tagging @synindoodles instead of this blog)
More info on how to use and edit this template below the cut!
Layers:
>Each layer is properly named and categorized. The general layers such as the background, the icon shape and background shapes are under the groups.
>If you don't want to see/don't need one of the connections' pictures and information, I recommend you find which one it is (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) and click on the eye symbol next to the layer to hide it so that way if you ever need it, it won't be truly gone.
>To edit a text section, simply find the layer (such as General Information>Left Column) and double click on the 'T' symbol next to the layer. That way it will open edit mode and allow you to edit the text, just don't hit delete or enter while everything is selected or you'll erase it :p
>Main text sections aren't separated, they're blocks of text. I recommend you don't remove the amount (for example, if you downloaded the version with the 'appearance' section, which has 5 sections of information, don't remove the fifth line.) Either leave it empty or replace it with another data, otherwise it will look weird. The 'general information' section might look good even if you remove a few lines, just don't get rid of the whole block of text.
Pictures:
>To add a new picture, simply paste it over this document and move it using the Move Tool.
>To frame it (so it becomes a circle or fits over the shape you want), make sure the picture layer is over the layer you want, then while holding alt click between the two layers. [For example, if you want to add a new main oc picture: 1) paste the pic you want, 2) move it with the Move Tool so it's covering the big circle, 3) once you've fully covered the shape (if it isn't you can resize it by right clicking on it then on 'free transform', sometimes you might need to hold shift to proportionally resize it) make sure the newly pasted pic layer is over the layer named "picture goes here", 4) hold the alt key and hover your mouse cursor over the line between your pic layer and the circle layer until you see an arrow going down symbol, once you see it click it and tah dah! your picture should now have the same shape as the circle! - you can further move it if it doesn't fit the way you want with the Move Tool (;
Others:
>You can change every color, font and section to your liking, just don't change the general layout of the template.
>To hide/show the guides (those bright blue lines all over the document), click ctrl+,
>'Inter' is a free font and you can get it in the link above (linked with the credits), Golften Vintage is not, but you can get the demo version >here< (just scroll down and click the blue download button under license). I will not tell you how to install fonts as it might be different for everyone (for me it's C:/Windows/Fonts and I just drop the zipped files (except the .txt one) there), but google is your friend.
>I can't think of anything else that needs to be said here, but if you have any other question feel free to send me an ask or dm and I'll help you out!
>Last but not least, a like is appreciated if you plan to use this plus consider tagging @synindoodles if you use it <3

how long did it take for your fanfiction to start getting some recognition? did you "advertise" it or "promote" it in any way?
i know that people say this doesn't matter, but i feel like even if you love writing the feeling that you're just talking to yourself gets pretty exhausting at some point. so i'm not talking about having thousands of readers but rather like. what's your advice to have readers at least?
- someone who hasn't even started writing their ideas yet...
LONG POST INCOMING.
First I want you (and everyone else reading who may be struggling with this) to know I'm absolutely with you and generally think 'it doesn't matter' is a horseshit answer. It's this weird thing we do in fanfic that we generally don't apply to other artforms that I've seen. If you're a painter, a playwriter, a novel writer, and you say, 'I want at least a few people to love my paintings, I want some people to come see my play, I want my novel to be published and do at least ok' we all support them, we nod, we agree, we talk about how they can do that successfully. It's considered normal to want some amount of success. But hold up fanfic instead and it becomes, 'how dare you want that praise, you're being egotistical, you should be writing only for yourself'. I'm not saying you can't do that - there are some who do - but it's definitely this bizarre switchup to say there's this single artform in which we can't want attention on our work and that there's something wrong with us if we do. That can be an absolute creativity killer depending on what kind of writer you are (hi, extrovert writer here who only gets writy writy juice from social interaction - aka comments and discussion. So I totally get it being exhausting just doing this on your own).
So let me say this categorically: you're allowed to want things. You're allowed to want kudos, comments, and hits. You're allowed to want messages and asks. You're allowed to want some readers you can talk with about your story.
You. Are. Allowed.
Ok, now that that's out of the way.
Edit: more below the cut cause I didn't realize the length of this on mobile
TRT definitely didn't get popular overnight. The first four chapters were sporadic, and then I took a hiatus due to life things for a couple years. During that time, it kept slowly ticking up bit by bit on AO3, with occasional comments. Iirc it was hovering somewhere around 700 kudos by the time I came back in Jan 2021 - and that's a awesome! It's big! But it's also a number that was gained over a few years, to put it in perspective. It absolutely took off after I came back though, and over the past 2 years both TRT's popularity and the stats of my one-shots in the fandom have grown. Part of that's just the time frame (TRT's been up about 6 years), but it's also due to a couple things that I think built up TRT's popularity.
Building a tumblr presence was huge. Ironically I didn't really intend to do it for advertising; I just wanted a place readers could ask questions or we could all freak out about Matt or I could post some drabbles or updates on the fic. But considering the fact that AO3 and tumblr are the top fic sites online, I wound up promoting my fics unintentionally just by being a friendly, happy tumblr user and fandom goer. All I did was follow the courtesy rules I knew - post stuff regularly, reblog, comment, make friends with other writers, just be friendly in your neighborhood because you love the lady with the gif flower shop on the corner or the wise old pizza maker who serves hot fandom takes all day long. I built familiarity with my writing and name by posting short fics, and by taking part in challenges and prompt lists and short requests for drabbles if I saw them, though that's something that's hard to do if you don't have time (I've got less time now, but I started this blog in the early pandemic so I had aaaaall the time in the world to write and was using it to stay sane). I tagged religiously because I LOVE tags, but that helped, too. Tumblr's search system is half broken but the half that works means people CAN find your writing even if they aren't following. Doing all this over here got me a huge boost over on AO3.
I will say that if you can have a fandom tiktok presence, there's a lot of fic reviewers, edits, and good stuff that can get your fic some readers (I've had some people do this on tiktok for TRT and it sent a surge over). I personally haven't done anything there yet, in part because while I'm on tiktok I try to keep my actual, real person accounts separate from my fic/fandom accounts and i haven't bothered to make a second account solely dedicated to the Pasta name yet.
Longfics on AO3 have the advantage in fic stats in the sense that every time you add a chapter, it gets bumped to the top of the front page and you get seen again. Eventually a lot of people will click out of curiosity. They may not, however, give you a lot of user subs or add to your other fic stats at first, whereas if you do a bunch of oneshots you're more likely to get user subs but less hits on each fic. This is a decision you'll have to make, and I know folks in both camps who built their followings using different methods on each. Either way, it helps if you're posting regularly, either in a long fic or one-shots. I call this the Stephen King method, who said he just writes a ton and throws it all at the wall, and eventually you get enough good despite the bad that you start building a following.
Learn learn learn. This is standard fic advice I always give, but it's still relevant. I think one of the reasons imo TRT has done so well is that I've spent a lot of time over the years learning how to write and edit - I read a ton of books (sometimes just to figure out HOW good authors structure their stories), I took a lot of English classes, I've taken some creative writing courses in my spare time. That two year hiatus was heavily spent doing a lot of research and practice around an original novel I want published one day. And I used ALL of that in TRT, just to see what it was like to put it all together. Be hungry for knowledge, be hungry to learn. The more you learn, the better your fic will be, and the more people that will click.
That learning also includes a looooong string of fanfics that started at a very novice level (hello 12 year old me), to fics that were ok and did moderately well but weren't anything huge. Hell, I had a tumblr account for my previous fandoms before I wandered over to Pastafossa, and while those fics did decently, I never had the huge reaction I've gotten here. But I used each and every one of those fics to learn and grow and adapt. Treat your own fics the same way. If it doesn't get hits, try to learn from it before moving on to the next idea a little wiser and a slightly better writer than before. There will always be people who start to follow you along the way.
A small one, but important: I swear to god, do not shit-talk yourself. Not in the summary, not in the tags, not in the A/Ns. I'm not talking, 'this is my first fic!' That's fine. I mean trashing your own work. Shit like, 'ha ha this sucks, it's terrible but oh well' will absolutely lower your stats, because people will believe you and will ditch your fic. On top of that, it's just mean to yourself, and as I said above, you want to be a good person in the fandom neighborhood. That means not breaking the windows of your own house.
People generally think of summaries as a side note, but a shitty summary can absolutely tank your stats. Treat it like the rest of your fic - this is the trailer before the movie, and it's a huge element of what gets people interested in the first place.
Lastly, like I said at the top, the biggest factor is time. There are people who post one fic and explode in popularity, absolutely. But far, far more little followings are built on the bones of time, of abandoned fics, of muttering and highlighting phrases in books in the middle of the night, of trying and trying and trying until we have at last have a breakthrough and then drag that breakthrough forward with us to the next fic. TRT is absolutely one part lightning in a bottle - the biggest success I've ever had anywhere with my writing, a confluence of fandom factors and world events that gave people (and me!) time to write and read. But it's also standing on the back of whole lot of fics I wrote that look like everyone else's: ones with no comments, low interaction, insults; ones where I had precisely zero idea of what I was doing, but wanted to try anyway. And the way I got through that, as a writer who needs interaction in order to create, was by building friendships in fandom so that even when a fic didn't do all that well, I still had friends I could talk to about the characters, the world, the fandom itself. I asked friends to look them over and give advice. I had friends being my cheerleaders. And if you're an extrovert like me, or just a writer who needs that to create, then those connections are vital as you build up a following.
That's a lot of what I've done. I know there are other ways to build a following, but this is generally what I've done, what I've learned to do, and it seems to have worked. Just remember that there are no bad fics - just learning opportunities. Learn something, and that fic's a success, and work as hard as you can to make those fandom connections to carry you through the process.
I absolutely hope to see your work around one day, so that I can be on of those followers!

I was gonna ask you this anyway actually bc you know a lot of artists but I just kept forgetting bc adhd is kicking my ass rn but since you wanted asks: do you know of any cool online stores or artists selling stickers? im trying to decorate my new laptop and I bought a few on etsy but I wanna get more
made in a lab to answer this question bc all i do is look for artists that skew cool. i will also give artists that skew cute. some artists are in between these categories, that is, they have a cute artstyle with subject matter that at least at times skews cool. my metric for whats cool and whats cute is pretty much 'based on aesthetics if this were being sold at a basement show in the 90s to 00s would someone get called gay'. if the answer is yes, its cute. if the answer is no, its cool. i dont know if this makes sense but im gonna use this categorizing anyway. i will tag the artists who are on tumblr but otherwise im naming everyone by their instagram handle because thats where i look at art and im on my phone and cant link everyone without losing my sanity
coming back after writing this list i have GOT to put this under a cut
@cursedluver: cute/cool, mostly cool to me, very bright and colourful and his starpions are really fun
ummmheather: cute/cool, mostly cute but shes got some stuff thats silly in a more cool way if that makes sense.
strikegentlyco: cool, they only recently started making stickers so the selection is a bit limited but they do have lots of enamel pins
sheselle: i would say firmly on the cute side of things in aesthetics but i think her sense of humor can be interesting. new to me though. i think you will really love some of her stuff and not really be into others.
@sweatermuppet: cool, lots of queer political stuff
luluvanhoagland: cool but with a soft artstyle so it feels cute.
@sofftpunk: cute/cool, lots of lgbt stuff
thegraveyardrave: mostly cool, they do have a tumblr blog but its specifically for clownposting so i will not tag him
leestrawberrryshop: cute with a cool tilt, mostly white and pink with just lineart but its an interesting scribble/doodle style. memey at times
prettybadco: cool but lately this guys been doing so much i think you should leave fan merch and its not bad but i dont watch i think you should leave and its not what i followed for. the original stuff is pretty neat though
catcoven: medieval. giving this one its own category on the grounds that thats pretty self explanatory and more precise than cool/cute
interrupted by finding a bee in my bedroom while drinking slightly warm tea (house is closed and the windows in my room (also closed) have mosquito nets)
@verdant-succubus: cool but there is body horror and guts and stuff so tread lightly if youre sensitive to that sort of thing.
radhia rahman (knivesmeow): cute but i feel cool when i look at her art
abprallenuk: cool but the colour palletes are strictly pastel
svv.art: very cool
smdefelice: cool. mostly does screenprinting but i am pretty sure they do stickers also. however the shop is currently closed for con prep do i cannot confirm
lilboatboutique: cute/cool has a homesick at space camp sticker which is currently on my water bottle and which i own in 2 variants as an enamel pin.
kerin cunningham: cool. emo. the goat. what else is there to say.
@darbydraws: cool. quite like her stickers although her bread and butter is t shirts. also emo
xraeart: cool. alt streetwear brand so. yknow.
skullingway: cool. theyre one of my favourite artists hands down. not a lot of stickers tho
jordandebney: cool. this guy makes the coolest stickers but most of it is for his subscription box which is fine. theres 2 stickers not behind a paywall
elrosabel: cool stuff, cute style. she kinda like. soft closed. to do polymer clay sculptures. but she might have reopened? i know shes selling stuff under this project again
piratesarrrt: cool but in a soft style. similar subject matter to luluvanhoagland. which is to say weird girl heads.
seankeetonart: cool.
@moonlume: cute. the concepts are cool though
jimibiscuits: cool. this is one of my favourite artists i have. so many of his pins. he doesnt have a ton of stickers though iirc
@8pxl: i am going to invent a category called 'pretty'. i love pixel art and this is my favourite pixel artist ever.
i gotta fuckin stop
go forth and get some stickers

First off, i'm glad that this account is continuing to thrive! Even though I have been a bit too busy to update the queue I have worked to check each and every tag if I can!
Tumblr media
I'm getting there with Lights Camera Pants at the moment though working through putting up some flash games as well to hopefully not drown everything in TOO much Lights Camera Pants haha.
I'm thinking about direct links to videos I'm getting materials from now. I have a current queue of 217 images which at my current rate will take a while to reach 0. I still have some stuff in the queue that was from all the way I started. I'm wondering if to wait for the queue to deplete or if I should start linking now. It might be confusing based on how I do my postings since I love to click that shuffle queue button after getting a bunch of images. I will still obviously be updating my FAQ but I'm wondering if I should go a little step further. I haven't fully decided yet but if I end up just going with links now you might see a lot of stuff in the queue that isn't fully linked mixed with stuff that is.
Things i'm considering for the blog also: Fan games, Mods, and Games that Include Spongebob. For each of these - unlike the main games - I will try to include a note that categorizes them based on these descriptors. Aka I'll note if they are not official Spongebob games or are games that use Spongebob's likeness
For explanations click the Read Below!
FAN GAMES:
This one is going to be the most vague admittedly and hard to define as what I apply as applicable to this blog. I understand that most Spongebob fan games lately are horror material or may contain mature topics. Even games that I was considering (If you've seen my FAQ you know i'm familiar with Around The Clock At Bikini Bottom.) may contain swearing, death, horror material, etc. So it's sorta matter of would these sorts of subject matters are befitting to this blog or not.
Though there are some games - at least right now - I'm gonna sorta avoid putting on just because they're a little too out of the realm of Spongebob. Stuff like Mr. Krabs Overdoses on Ketamine, SpongeGlock SquarePants, and Sinister Squidward. Also, some of them are just a little TOO MUCH for me lol (especially Sinister Squidward.)
Also, let's be honest, there are a lot of SpongeBob games out there that's made by younger audiences (Which I don't want to bully) or by greedy scammers trying to get money by putting Spongebob on a bike game or creepy dentist game (Which I don't want to give attention to.)
MODS
For Mods I will not be doing just simple reskins (unless the reskin is large in scale such as BFBB Winter Wonderland and Battle for Boo-kini Bottom.) Aka I won't pick mods where it's just Spongebob in Sonic Adventure 2 or Sonic in BFBB. I'll probably pick ones that are specifically mods for Spongebob games.
When approaching this particular subject i'm thinking of stuff such as BFBBMix but I understand there are probably not a lot of Spongebob mods under those sorts of criteria.
SPONGEBOB-INVOLVED
This is just a coined term for things that include Spongebob in some way such as Nicktoons Unite! / Spongebob Squarepants and Friends Unite!. I'd probably skip on material that doesn't have much to actually offer in content (Nicktoons Racing, Nicktoons Party Blast, Nicktoons MLB.). I want to use games where Spongebob characters have an actual impact on the game through dialogue or story (so things such as All-Star Brawl 2 Campaign could count since each of the characters has active dialogue!) However, i'll try to keep the focus on Spongebob and Spongebob characters!

2023 blog update !
Sooo happy new year everyone, and let's get into the thick of it, because I have a lot of words to spew out from my little tired brain ( i swear i started writing this at 4am, how's it past 6 already ? ). Beware long post...
I'm ditching the "sonic fandom" categorizing tag, most of my blog is sonic stuff so it doesn't really matter ( i'll change out the old tag on my old posts later when i remember... )
I wanted to change my url, cause i don't like what it stands for now, but it's what I'm credited as in the SWA zine and i don't wanna inconvenience them this late in the thing, so I'm gonna keep it for the time being. Maybe in a few months I'll change it ?
I kinda hate tagging my posts so i think i'm gonna stop using most of my tags when i'm reblogging, just doing my regular comments instead and content warnings if it needs it ( don't forget you can always ask to tag ! ), and of course, the reblog tag stays.
This doesn't mean I'm ditching the categorizing tags entirely though. I'm gonna try something. At every end of the month I'll go into the mass post editor and just correctly tag everything. ( I might still tag characters and fandoms the regular way for non-sonic stuff ).
I might reblog a little less. Or at least try to. The amount of stuff I usually reblog kind of overwhelms me ( sideblog will not be affected as it's a lot less pressure ).
I have a lot saved up in my likes tab that i still need to get to reblogging... might be time to revive the 'queued' tag ?
I'm still gonna be serial-replying, sorry... It's just less stress for me.
In terms of resolutions... I wanna post more art ! I basically stopped entirely in the later half of 2022 cause of ID anxiety and that's no good, art is what i made this blog for ! I also still haven't introduced you guys to my AU and I was supposed to do that in, like, June 2022... So I'm gonna do that. Lemme know what format you think I should post the 24 ( and more ) images in ? ^^;
Maybe I could post my long rambles and weird ""essays"" ( heavy quotations because those are basically liveblogging of my current thoughts ), if you guys would like to see that. A lot of questioning logic, lore, headcanons and theories. Stuff like that.
I want to interact more with the fandom ! Provide actual content ! Be active, be friends, y'know. Do the club activities and all that jazz. Art challenges, redraws, collabs, whiteboards, dtiys... I wanna be part of the cool/uncool kids and have fun while doing it !
I'm gonna go through sideblog-exclusive stuff below the cut since I'm sure most of y'all don't care about that. I only have 3 or 4 followers on there since I've only ever shared it with friends, so you probably don't even know it exists.
Alright so for ekana-to-hana.
It's basically gonna stay the same
I haven't been drawing my sonas and their universe a lot, so sorry about no new original art... I'm gonna try to draw them more !
All this time I've been just reblogging random stuff, but I think I'm gonna start sharing the things I like. Of course those posts won't get any more than 3 notes unless people actually like what i care about ( plants, fashion, ultra-specific aesthetics, various potential craft hobbies ), but hey whatever.
So in short, more original posts.
I might ( emphasis on 'might' ) start posting personal life updates like, i dunno, plant pics, merch if i get some, ramblings about life and shit.
Unlike my main blog, tagging remains unchanged, since i have way less to organize ( no characters and fandom tags ).
I should sort out my organizing tags for personal clarity tho.
Maybe I'll do some OC+fandom art, to promote the account ? But honestly I wouldn't really count on it.
And that's all folks.

Hey here’s something I just realized I had forgotten to share ^^;;;
It’s Kurimas’ 4t2 conversion of Sentate’s Charlize Jumpsuit shoe swapped to have Mosch Boots instead of the original heels that just weren’t my thing.
Download from Simfileshare | Mega
Credits & other info:
Sentate for the original mesh, Kurimas for their conversion of the Jumpsuit and MDPThat’sme for the boots conversion
Has version with and without Smooth Hands
Polycounts are:
Without smooth hands: 5590 | 4382
With smooth hands :     7398 | 5455
Has fat and pregmorphs added to it (I’m pretty sure the original didn’t have them but I’ve made these back in May, what do I remember?)
Categorized as everyday and outerwear
Should have correct shoe sounds (=boots)
Comes in the 25 original colors by Sentate, swatch below is in order starting from 1 and ending to 25 so you can delete whatever colors you don’t like (it’s included in the zip too so no need to save it from here):

I wrote a new tutorial :) This is about installing the EmptyStandbyList and having it run automatically on the background, it’ll tell Windows to release the standby memory it’s hogging and should hopefully help with flashing pink issue a lot of people are having with Sims 2.

It’s ready!! And it only took me (checks calendar) three and a half months. Well...really more like a couple of weeks and a lot of setting it aside in-between. The more toddler conversions I do, the more I figure out about them. This started with @platinumaspiration’s 4t2 Sweater Playful conversion. (Cottage Living agaaaain!!) Toddler separates are not much of a thing (on account of the thumbnail issue), so I added @storylegacysims Cuffed Jeans and some TS4 BG canvas slip-on shoes which I think were originally for kids. Why can’t tops be as easy to convert as bottoms and shoes??
They’re PU, categorized as Everyday. I did all ten EAxis sweater colors, with coordinating jeans and shoes. No swatch. Maybe later? I’m also working on a de-foxed/de-cowed/de-clouded/de-landscaped/de-patched just plain old sweater texture, so expect recolors in a future post.
Note: The polycount is on the high side, at 3741, but that should be fine for most modern computers.

I had so much fun finding and converting those 70's pants that I had to do one more thing before the theme ends. This is @sentate's Daffodil Dress, with @dallasgirl79's Mary-Jane Platforms.
Get it here at GoS, and check out the other 70's and witchy goodies!

All the jumpsuitness cuteness, now in baby size! Silliness aside, here’s the BU version of my 4t2 conversion of the Cottage Living toddler jumpsuit.
No shoes, because it’s not like they’re walking around or going anywhere. The swatch is the same as the toddler version, the original 11 EAxis swatches, with the ankle carrot removed. (I don’t think I mentioned the ankle carrot [like an applique of a carrot on one ankle] in the previous post, but it was weird and it had to go.) They’re set as everyday only, for both sexes, and you need Chris Hatch’s mod to use them. You can find it in this post (scroll down or use find) or you can get @creesims alternate object versions.

My first 4t2 mesh conversion! Or...the first I’ve finished. This is the EP11 toddler jumpsuit. Cottage Living has the cutest stuff and I’m stunned that no one had converted this yet.
It comes in the original 11 TS4 colors and has white EAxis sandals. The gap at the shin has been fixed. There’s a little bit of clipping when they’re sitting, but it’s not too bad. I’ll also be doing a version without the shoulder frills and a baby version, which you can see in my WIP tag. Expect recolors and texture conversions too. I really love it and want it in all the colors. It’s categorized for PU everyday.

TwoJeffs' Find-A-Mate Crystal Ball...now 100% less biphobic!! Back in my young edgelord days, I probably thought "I'm Desperate and Don't Care!" was funny. It aged like milk. So did the g-slur in the description. I've fixed both! I'm giving you three new options, to kick off Pride month.

ModPartyCat I want it to be known that your post about categorizing and logging the tags people use is tempting my small "organize everything and anything" brain SO MUCH GEIZNSUWKZHEUEHAJ- /lighthearted /half joke
[[For personal reference - 🎼🕙🎶]]
"Anonymous asked: I'm coming to update that this task is as difficult as I assumed it'd be. I don't feel like it's reasonable to try and list every name associated with a user's tag, if I'm being quite honest. At least not alone and/or without several weeks of no new postings.
Logging different tags may be possible without even stopping new postings, however? It'd certainly take a few weeks and would need careful upkeep. I believe I'm around an hour in and only have 53 tags logged. Which sure that should be a lot, however…It truly isn't in comparison to how many submissions this blog gets.
I apologize if this is rude at all. Please feel free to delete these messages if they are rude, or anything else.
[[- 🎼🕙🎶]]"
You're very welcome to attempt this and I don't blame you if you'd want to give up at the start. It's a nigh impossible task. Really, I think you have better thing to do with your free time, but that's your choice.
Yeah if anyone isn't listed because of inactivity, I'm sure they can always ask to be added.
I'd agree against noting fictotypes or names associated with the tag. Sometimes things change. And besides I assume people only want to check for the tags itself?
Longcat speed you, anon friend! Please stretch out your arms to avoid RSI!

Hey there!!!!! I just love love love LOVE your writing🤭🤭 But I have writings that I want to post, however I'm afraid of it not getting attention!! I want to start making money off of my art also, but none of my post have been getting attention...><..Do you anything that could help me (to be honest it might just be the way I write...→_→)
Hi nonnie! Thank you so so much for the lovely compliments. That’s very sweet of you to say!
I’m gonna be honest with you, I myself struggle with interactions—very much so. Save for a few posts that blow up a little, the majority of my fics on Tumblr have little to no notes. But the amount of traction you receive should not be indicative of your skill as a writer, and it certainly should not stop you from enjoying it!
At the end of the day, fic writers are hobbyists and artists. They willingly write stories and pour their hearts into them, and it brings them joy to write them. While attention is certainly a wonderful thing, and the lack of it can sometimes be rather discouraging, remember why you chose to write. It was because you were passionate about it, wasn’t it?
I think one formula that always works, though, is choosing an active fanbase. The more active a fandom is, the more likely will your posts receive interactions. For example, a fandom like Attack on Titan is far more active and massive than the Yuumori fandom, for instance. Posts under the AoT tag tend to find their target audience more easily.
Post the links to your work everywhere—Twitter, in DMs, to your friends, on other websites; do anything to spread the word that you’re an active writer! There’s nothing wrong with shameless self-promos.
Another thing that helps a lot is using the appropriate tagging system. This makes your fics easier to find by interested people, and categorized better. For example, “#hinata shoyo smut” will lead you to all smut fics of Hinata Shoyo of Haikyuu, and “#william moriarty x reader” will lead you to a more general collection of x reader fanfics starring William Moriarty of Yuumori.
One thing I wish I could stick to is this: consistency. The more regularly you post, the more frequently you will show up on your followers dashboards, and the more likely you are to appear at other people’s dashboards. You’ll find yourself interacting with like-minded individuals who love your work in no time!
Personally, I haven’t been successful at all in making money off my blog. Though I am in desperate need of money, so far I’ve made literally $00.00. I believe we both need advice on how to earn cash from our work, don’t we?
Keep your head up, nonnie! Being a writer might feel like a tough business at times, but at the end it all boils down to how much you enjoy doing this. As long as you do, then you’re on the right track!💗💗

I'm intrigued, how does one incorporate D&D into their practice? That sounds quite fun, I can feel the hyperfixation incoming lol. Thank you for your time btw <3
Ohhh friend, you're going to love that I have a whole D&D magic tag. I recommend the section: dungeons and dragons tag on my grimoire blog (@jasper-grimoire) if you want an information-only experience though.
Firstly, the reason I call myself a wizard instead of a witch is because of the aesthetics of a D&D wizard. It conveys the right amount of "using magic items, throwing hands with other entities" for my craft.
Secondly, I've outlined before how I, personally, utilize D&D in my craft: divination, "elemental" (really categorical) system, spells, and symbols. (If you're curious about what all that means, I wrote an outline to pop culture magic for toe-dippers here!) I even own the official Dungeons and Dragons tarot deck because I'm a menace and should not be allowed online unsupervised.
I work mostly with 5e stuff nowadays, but I have access to 3.5e rulebooks for things like spell inspiration or reference.
Overall, there's plenty of ways to get started, I just shared some of the stuff I do! Hopefully the links I provided will help you out, anon!

OC lightning round: do you have an OC tag? who’s your favorite OC? what OC have you had the longest? are there small details about your OCs people wouldn’t imagine?
Do you have an OC tag?
I do! You can either access the tag by clicking the "OCs." section on my master list that's pinned at the top of my blog or you can simply search "oc" in my blog's search bar and it'll bring up all the posts I tag with "oc". I should say that when I tag a post with "oc", it's not always about my original characters. I like to reblog a lot of fan art and character design stuff on this blog, both for inspiration and for helping artists get more exposure. I should also specify that the link for my "OCs." section doesn't seem to work very well if at all on mobile for some reason. I'll have to try and fix it later.
Who's your favorite OC?
That would be Djamilah. Many people who know me already know this, lol. They are a Bajan witch/shaman of sorts (it's a bit hard to categorize them) with Senegalese descent. They're about 400 years old and specialize in elemental manipulation. Here's some commissioned art pieces I had done for them:
Tumblr media
From left to right: paexie, sol, delweissart
(I used to have a link to sol's Instagram, but it looks like they might've deleted it. I'm working on retrieving a new link.)
What OC have you had the longest?
Uhh, also Djamilah lool. She's seen some things. When I first started shaping the old Djamilah (we'll call her Prototype Djamilah or ProDJ), she was a knight with straight white hair, heterochromia (one green eye, one blue), was actually taller (like 7 feet or something; modern Djamilah is 6'4), and I named her after a legendary Pokémon. Can you guess which one?
...Oh, and she was a dragon shapeshifter. I was really into Spyro back then.
Are there small details about your OCs people wouldn't imagine?
Well, I think this kinda goes without say for every art piece, character, and story. There's always something that could be overlooked or misinterpreted by the reader/viewer, but that doesn't always necessarily mean they're wrong. I've had people ask me if a metaphor in my writing was for something entirely different than what I had intended that actually sounded a whole lot better than my original idea.
Anywho, yeah, there are always small details about my OCs that I think people wouldn't think about. I don't want to give much away since this is a part of my long fic, but Integra's domestic servants—the parlor maid, the footman, the chef—all have unique backstories that led them to where they work now. While they are supposed to be "side characters" in a sense, I still want them to feel like real people. It's no coincidence that these people in particular work for the Hellsing Organization, even if they're just seen as "the help". These are people that have skeletons in their closets, ghosts in their pasts. And it effects their everyday life.

okay so since i'm starting this back up, i'm going to say some things!
I know... no one really cares... but i'd just like to let everyone know i'm changing some things and what they are.
so first off i am going to start crediting the photographer. i was kinda young when i started this and didn't really know that's something i should be doing (stupid). also, i won't be erasing or cropping out watermarks (very stupid, i am sorry for doing this). the problem is a lot of the photos are so old and a lot of the origins of the photos are gone because of deleted accounts, broken links, websites purging old photos, etc. additionally, many photos were saved on my computer but, the people who took them were not. so i will be trying my very best to credit the creator but in some instances, i will not be able to or i might get it wrong. I will always add them later or correct it if i, or someone else, do manage to find them!
also, I might be posting pictures I have already posted. I have no idea how i used to categorize them into the ones I have posted and the ones i haven't. it has been so long whatever it was, i don't remember. so this time it will be more organized than before but, there will be some repeats.
next, I will be adding the year, who's in the photo, and the photographer in the description, not just the tags. the year might be kind of difficult, so i might get it wrong occasionally. but if you know something i don't, tell me so i can go fix it.
I will also be adding image descriptions for the all pictures. i am new to writing those but i will try my best. so if you have a better description or advice to write them better, message me!
and then just some random things:
I have a twitter! follow me on there! i will be posting the same thing, more or less but on twitter.
I love when people submit photos, please do! but, try to find the best quality version of the photo and who took it.
we are adding jarrod alexander to the tags and whatnot, as he's literally in the band. doing the drumming.
i will fix the broken links soon but if you see any i still haven't fixed when it has been a while, let me know!
If you take any photos at the shows, I would love to post them (and credit you...). just submit them to me (please try to have them at the best resolution you can) or I can reblog your post if you message me the link.
i can (try to) help you find pictures, and i will try to answer any questions you have, message me!
i will be going back to queuing and sometimes posting pictures, i will try to mix it up with the era, so its not just new pictures but there will probably be a lot of new pictures.
i will be posting pictures of the whole band and not just cropping it to mikey
I might change things up depending on what needs to be and i can let everyone know. but i will not be commenting on everything and posting about myself and whatever. i find that incredibly annoying when picture and update accounts do that so. i won't be. I don't have a mcr side blog (maybe later) but i can give you my main if you want to talk.
tldr: i'm changing how i run this account and i'm glad to be back :)

I thought we had all gotten past this, but because Microsoft is a greedy piece of shit who doesn't understand what the word "commercial" means, I need to state this here so that I am not potentially sued because of their new Guidelines.
Anything listed within this "world" is not any kind of official Minecraft content. It is not endorsed by Microsoft or the Minecraft team, and is a completely made up idea. I am not receiving money from this in any way, shape, or form, and do not plan on doing so at any point in the future. I do not own the Minecraft brand and am in no way related to anything having to do with the game other than being someone who plays it.
I want to start this off by saying that this isn't a happy story. At least, not the beginning of it. This character's origin story is upsetting, and I will be tagging posts appropriately. I will be including warnings at the top of posts that deserve those warnings, just so you know what you will be getting into should anyone happen across this blog.
There's a lot of stuff here... well, there's going to be. I've had this idea in my head for a couple years, mainly ever since getting into the DreamSMP, then Hermitcraft, OriginsSMP, and other SMP's just in general, but those are the big ones.
I love Minecraft as what it is, but I also love what the community has made of it, and what they've explained away as game mechanics, and how DNA and Science is to us as Binary and Code is to them. I've always found it fascinating, how we've taken these things and given them real-world effects, but always keeping that element of, "That wouldn't work in real life, but it would work in Minecraft." Like Admins And eating raw pork
Bracketing this off, because the list might get pretty long.
I will put tags here to categorize things. Locations, characters, general information, etc... If anyone ever has any questions, feel free to ask! I'd LOVE some input. I'm taking in readily, and will likely use it in world building :)
!!!READ THIS FIRST!!! This link will lead to the basic information that you will need to know in order for any of this to make sense.
#StarStainedMC - Locations - Information on the locations within the world. This can be cities, continents, towns, special locations, ect... #StarStainedMC - General Info - General information on how things work, mechanics of the world, etc... #StarStainedMC - Race Info - How each race within this world works, things they experience and have to deal with etc... #StarStainedMC - My Art - Art that I have created for the story and it's characters. This includes written stories along with the general art that I've created. #StarStainedMC - Characters - Information on specific characters are located here. Most of these will have art attached to them, but some of them might not, especially the races with human faces. I'm not great with human faces, but I will try my best.

hi! i love your fics alot honestly i have no idea why your getting sm hate
and abt writing being used as a coping mechanism it is COMPLETELY okay its YOUR writing not theirs your doing this for YOUR enjoyment! and your using it to help YOUR mental state. having your emotions bleed into your writing is honestly so so good it lets me as the reader truly understand what your feeling and i feel good when i see it bcs it feels nice knowing someone understands how i feel!
i love you and your works 😋 dont listen to the haters theyre all poopoo heads and assholes for real.
btw can i be 🪸 anon??
oh, it’s not really anon hate. It used to be worse, but I have this rule where I block empty/inactive blogs, so it’s gotten better - people don’t like this rule, but it exists; I used to get more criticism about my blog boundaries than anything, but I go inactive for long periods of time, so I think people move on, which is fine; no one owes me anything.
the whole anon criticism started most prominently back during the time out prequel when it wouldn’t show in the tags, so I had to make, like, little “ad” posts where I’d just copy-paste the summary and a smut scene to get people to read it. And then someone told me that my fic was okay but not great because it was more tell than show, and I said they were wrong, but really, I should’ve been more grateful that someone actually read my fic (it’s too long). And then, for another fic, someone rated it on a scale of 1-10, and it felt … awful, on my end; and I responded to it when I had, like, a high anxiety moment (I should’ve stepped away from my phone), but the person has their own mental problems and that’s how they categorize things and I should’ve considered their feelings more, really. I’m not, like, a good person, sorry; I don’t want to trick you or guilt trip you into anything. The reality is that I actually deserve it. No one owes me anything, and I should be grateful for any feedback because I’m just hung up on external validation, really. It just stresses me out, like, personally, but that’s no one else’s fault except my own.
sorry, I know how this reads; I’m not trying to be a pick-me or guilt trip you or anything, and I know that this sounds so, like, self-focused. It’s all deserved, really, sorry. But thank you for liking my fics ^^ hopefully, I can post something good soon; I’ve been working on the baseball au lately, but I scrapped the idea, so something should be in the works later. I have a jealousy reaction that I’m thinking about, so if I dedicate a couple minutes, I might be able to post it soon, or something, idk yet ._.

I see an image and want to describe it: a step by step guide
I've seen a lot of guides explaining why image descriptions are important, or vague things like "describe the text!!", or extremely detailed guides that might be confusing for someone just starting out. I wanted to make a specific, step by step guide that I feel comfortable sending to someone regardless of their experience.
Note: This post might seem long. That's because I explain some Tumblr features for people who might not know them. If you don't need me to explain how notes and reblogging work, you can skip steps 1 and 2.
The format I describe in steps 4 and 5 is the simplest version of how I normally write IDs. I'm calling it Aure's 2-sentence IDs.
This guide is written with the assumption that the reader already knows what image descriptions are and why they're important - if you don't, here's an explanation. I wrote instructions specific for Tumblr, but the format works for other sites as well.
Everything from this point on is written in first person. So "I" refers to anyone doing an ID, and "Aure" is me, the writer of this post.
TL;DR: When I see an image, I
1. Check the reblogs to see if someone else has IDed it
2. If someone hasn't, I hit reblog and start typing
3. I start with "[Image description:"
4. Then a sentence that's "(Image type) of (subject)."
5. A sentence with one verb or adjective about the image (info about when it needs to be longer than 2 sentences under the read more)
6. I end with "End ID]"
So
[Image description: (image type) of (subject). (Subject) is (adjective and/or verb). End ID]
The detailed guide:
1. I am scrolling through my dashboard and see an image without an ID (if I'm just here for the ID tutorial, skip this)
Before I go "time to write one myself," I stop and remember that I might not have to!! If someone else has done one, there's an easy way to find it and reblog that version.
Say I come across this meme on my dash. (note: the version linked does not have the ID attached.
Tumblr media
[Image description: Cropped screenshot of an image on Tumblr, with a caption and tags. Underneath on the left is a link that reads, "152 notes" and on the right are different buttons. End ID]
I click on the bottom-left link that reads, "X notes"
That takes me to a little box that shows me information about other users' interactions with that post.
Tumblr media
[Image description: A notes box. It shows the total number of notes, the number of individual likes and reblogs, as well as every reblog with comment on the post. End ID]
Whenever someone reblogs a Tumblr post and "adds" something as a comment, it'll show up here. This is slightly different from replies, where reblogging isn't necessary. The image above has no replies, only reblogs with comment.
In the notes, I see a reblog that starts with "[Image description:"
so I click on the URL of the person who wrote it.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a cursor on the url of the blog that wrote the ID. End ID]
I then reblog that version.
If I don't see an ID in the notes, I move to step 2.
2. I need to describe the image and attach my description to the post
I click the reblog button.
Tumblr media
[Image description: the Tumblr reblog button, a rectangle made of two bent arrows. End ID]
I'm taken to this field:
Tumblr media
[Image description: The Tumblr addition box. End ID]
The field that says "go ahead, put anything" is where I type my ID.
3. I start it with a bracket, identifier, and colon
My description should start with "[Image description:" or "[ID:"
This helps differentiate my image description from a usual caption. A screenreader won't pick up the bracket, but it will read "image description" so make sure that's there. The bracket and colon aren't entirely necessary, but it looks neater and helps sighted users.
4. First sentence: (image type) of (image subject)
Categorize the image. If I'm stuck, it's probably one of these:
Meme
Reaction meme
Fill-in-the-blank meme (describe this with the meme name. For example, "'is this a pigeon' meme"
Screenshot + text post meme (these are the ones where you have a screenshot from a show, and a Tumblr or Twitter post edited over it)
Art
Digital art
Comic
Paper and pencil art
Painting
etc
Graphic
Infographic
Photo
Black and white photo
Gif
Screenshot
and if I can't tell, "picture of" works fine.
"Subject of the image" just means what's the main thing in the image. It's what I would mention in passing to a friend, like "oh I saw this drawing of a cat yesterday." The type of image is a drawing, and the subject is a cat, so this would be "[Image description: Drawing of a cat"
5. Second sentence: Something about the image.
Either something the subject is doing, an adjective about the subject, or an adjective about the image in general.
For example, here are 3 ways this image could be described:
Verb: what the subject is doing
[Image description: Digital art of Roy Mustang. He's showing off his top surgery scars.
Adjective about the subject
[Image description: Digital art of Roy Mustang. He has top surgery scars.
Adjective about the image in general
[Image description: Digital art of Roy Mustang. The background is the trans flag.
Aure's ID above didn't follow this format exactly, and had two of these three pieces of information. I definitely don't have to follow this format exactly if I want to include more info, but if I'm in a rush and/or am just starting out then this is how I identify the essentials.
What if it needs to be longer than two sentences?
Sometimes my ID can't be pared down to two sentences. Some gifsets need more, as do most screenshot + text post memes, comics, and other images that need text transcribed.
When describing a series of images, such as a gifset or a screenshot + text post meme, I number the images. Here's an example with a gifset, and here's an example with a screenshot + text post meme.
When my main thing is transcribing the text, I format it however seems simplest. @princess-of-purple-prose described this lovely poem snippet dump using indent to differentiate every snippet. Aure is a fan of "[Text: XXX End Text]" as shown here.
Here's how to do graphics and comics.
6. I end it with an ending tag and a closing bracket
The most most common one Aure has seen is "End ID]"
I've also seen "End description]" or "End image description]"
Aure uses "End ID" because it's shorter. I just need to make sure it has the word end and closes the bracket. This specifies when the image description ends and when the next content begins for someone using a screenreader.
After that, I add my tags, hit "reblog," and I'm done!
In conclusion
Aure's 2-sentence ID format:
[Image description: (image type) of (subject). (Subject) is (adjective and/or verb). End ID]
If there's an image I'm not sure about, anyone can feel free to send Aure an ask. She can either ID it for you and answer your ask explaining what she did, or just give a suggestion, depending on what you prefer.
If I've been doing IDs for a bit and want to look at a more detailed guide, @thequeerwithoutfear has an excellent one here. They talk about context and purpose of images, which Aure didn't really do in this guide.
Perkins also has a guide that talks about alt text here.
Lastly, please boost this! This post is chock full of links, meaning it'll never show up in search. But it'd be awesome for people to see this if it helps them get started. So a reblog is appreciated!
