kuroo tetsuro

you woke up late today and weren't surprised that kuroo had already left for work by the time you woke up. but he did leave you a post-it note saying he made breakfast leftovers for you in the fridge.

you smile at the thought that kuroo took the time out of his day to make some food especially in the morning. however, as you're getting ready for the day, your eye catches the lunch bag that's sitting on the kitchen bar countertop.

"this idiot," you mumble, shaking your head with a smile on your face. you pull out your phone and shoot him a text.

y/n: thanks for the breakfast it was really good

tetsu: im glad :)

y/n: also you left your lunch at home stupid

tetsu: oh shit

tetsu: can you drop it off for me? i cant come home to pick up, im in a meeting rn

y/n: yeah that's fine

tetsu: thanks baby ill kiss u when i see u

a few hours pass by and now you're taking the bus to head to kuroo's office with his lunch bag in hand. before leaving the house, you decided to swap his current lunch which was some leftovers with his favorite food, grilled salted mackerel.

you enter his office floor and are greeted by the office receptionist from the floor. "i'm just here to drop off some food for kuroo-san."

"oh yes, right this way," she stands up and opens the office door for you and points out where his room is.

as you're about to knock on his door, you hear his voice from the other side. "i'm not sure if i can come out tonight to eat kenma. y/n probably wants me home, you know how clingy they get sometimes."

your heart sinks to the floor.

has he always thought of me this way? clingy? i didn't mean to act that way? i just like being in his company. i didn't mean to be clingy. i didn't know he felt that way...

"anyways, i'll call you back kenma. i gotta get back to work. see ya later" he ends the call.

you take a deep breath, standing in front of the door, thinking about kuroo's words to his best friend. before you could even knock, the door opens and you're greeted by kuroo.

"oh y/n! you should've texted me you were here!"

you let out a laugh that sort of dies in your throat. "oh um i just wanted to surprise you that's all."

"come in, let's eat together. you can see the beautiful downtown view from here," he tries to usher you inside his personal office room.

you're a little uncomfortable so you hold yourself back from going on, "maybe another time, yeah? i gotta head back. i've got a lot of work to do with college and work and stuff."

"no yeah of course, i get it. work hard! but first..." kuroo smiles and before you can pull away, he kisses you on the head. "i'll see you when i get home. love you!"

too ashamed to even look at him as you walked out of his office, you just wave to him with your back facing him as you walked away.

you're now sitting on the bus on the way home, thinking about the way he called you clingy. "you know how clingy they get.." has he always thought i'm clingy? has he just been putting up with my annoying habits? i thought he liked the way i treated him. i didn't know he thought it was clingy.

you're trying to look back at your actions and now it's all coming back to you.

you're always trying to kiss him, hug him, cuddle him. you're always talking to him about random things from an occurrence at the grocery store to some new show you're watching. literally last night, you both were cuddling while watching a new episode of kuroo's favorite sit-com and you were running your fingers through his hair.

it all made sense.

you were clingy.

and he wanted space.

you were going to respect that.

kuroo comes home later that evening and announces himself with an "i'm home!"

you're on the dining table with the computer open, working on some new assignment and you smile at him. "welcome home," you say with a smile.

he's expecting you to get up and come over and hug him like you usually do but to his surprise, you continue to look back at your computer.

he assumes you're just busy and doesn't think much of it.

kuroo heads into the shared bedroom to unwind from his hectic day at work. he takes a shower and changes into some pajama pants and is now heading back to the living room to see what you're up to.

you're still sitting on the dining table with all your notebooks splayed out and computer open, working on what seems to be some really big project. he plops down next to you and starts squinting at the screen. he starts poking you to grab your attention from the screen.

"the mackerel was really good today."

"that's good."

silence envelops the atmosphere between the both of you until kuroo decides to speak again.

"what are you working on?"

"college stuff."

"maybe take a break now?" he suggests.

"i can't. it's due soon," your voice flat. "if you want dinner, there's some leftovers i made in the fridge."

"alright," he replies, getting up from the chair to the kitchen to warm up some food.

his shoulders droop a little. he was hoping to spend some time with you. but he is aware that something is off with you. he's not sure what it is but he knows something isn't right. you haven't given him a single kiss or even a hug since he's been back and your usual sarcastic remarks are gone.

you've barely even acknowledged his presence.

"maybe it's just an off day?" is what he convinces himself.

but those "off days" are starting to become more consistent.

you're out of bed before he wakes up in the morning and you barely talk to him when he comes home. you always end up sleeping after he falls asleep and he can't even stay up because of how exhausted he gets after work. the amount of physical affection has declined from you and every time he texts or talks to you, your replies are barely existent.

it feels like he's living by himself. when did it get so cold?

on the other hand, you think it's going well! you haven't been all up in his business lately. you're giving him the space he wants. you're hoping that kuroo is feeling much happier since you're smothering him less. sure, you miss getting to hold and cuddle him but this is what he wanted, right?

now that the week is over, kuroo is hoping to spend the weekend with you.

that morning, kuroo sets an alarm to wake up earlier than you in hopes of spending some extra affectionate time with you. however, the moment he wakes up, the other side of the bed is empty and cold.

he has no choice but to get out of bed to see where you are. there's no way you're up right now. at 7 am on a weekend? no way.

he walks out of the room and he feels his heart chip. you're sleeping on the couch, slightly shivering because the blanket you're using barely covers you. have you been sleeping on the couch this past week? why didn't i notice? kuroo begins to internally berate himself right now for letting you sleeping on the couch for this past week right under his nose.

with no hesitation, he bridal-style carries you back into the shared bedroom and tucks you under the duvet cover and comes back into bed.

however, you've already woken up and you sit up on the bed, startled. "w-what? where am i?"

he scoffs, "i brought you in our bedroom idiot."

"oh," you're now grabbing your stuff and climbing out to go back to the couch but kuroo stops you by grabbing your arm.

"where are you going?"

"to the couch?"

"but this is our bedroom?"

"no, this is your bedroom," you emphasize.

"y/n." his tone feels cold to you. "talk to me."

"we are talking, are we not?"

he starts scratching the back of his neck. "yes but you know it's not the same. what's going on baby?"

his hand to tries to reach your cheek to stroke it with his thumb but you turn away and immediately stand up from his bed. "it's okay kuroo, please go back to sleep. it's the weekend, you should rest."

his heart chips at the gesture. why are you avoiding him like this? what did he do? what happened to 'tetsu?'

"it's tetsu to you," he mumbles.

you open your mouth but shut it and cast you eyes away from his stare down at the floor.

"it's always been tetsu to you," he states.

you're still silent and he takes it as his queue to continue speaking.

"baby, everyday i come home from work and you barely acknowledge me. you're always busy doing 'college stuff' or something else. you barely hug me or even kiss me anymore. what happened? what did i do? did i do something wrong? did i overstep my boundaries? are you mad at me about something? please i wanna know what i did wrong so i can fix myself."

your heart softens at his words and you begin to immediately reassure him.

"there's nothing wrong with you... nothing has ever been wrong with you... i just want to work on giving you your space. i know that you think i'm clingy and so i wanted to work on just giving you room to breathe. i know i can be a little too much sometimes. i'm sorry for not realizing how clingy my actions were sooner. i'm sorry i-"

he immediately walks over to you and brings you to his chest, hugging you tightly. your eyes slightly widen. "don't you dare fucking apologize. it's not your fault. shit, it's never been your fault, baby. what made you even think that?"

in embarrassment, you mumble, "i heard you say i'm clingy to kenma. sorry i didn't mean to overhear."

"oh, my love," he pulls away and looks at you with a sad look in his eyes. "it's not what you think."

he sighs and he sits on the side of the bed and taps the bed space in front of him for you to sit down as well. "kenma's been trying to get me to go meet some new volleyball members to affiliate them with the jva and to be honest, i already have so much on my plate with the current affiliates, that i'm really trying to avoid going out for dinner with him. i'm trying to get one of my coworkers to go on my behalf to seal the deal but i can't find anyone willing to."

"i just used your name as an excuse. i swear on my life, i never really meant that. i never ever meant to hurt you."

still finding it hard to believe him, you mumble, "you don't need to lie.. i understand if-"

"y/n, i swear on my mother, i'm not lying," he interrupts. "every single fucking day, the only think i ever look forward to is seeing your beautiful face in my apartment. i look forward to your rambles about the new show you started watching or how the current professor you're shadowing is a douche. i love your bear hugs and i love the way you kiss me all over my face in the mornings. fuck, i love knowing that i get to go to sleep with you every night and i get to wake up to you every morning. i love you, just the way you are. please don't ever change yourself over some fucking lie i said."

"i'm so sorry y/n, so sorry for ever making you doubt my love for you," he intertwines his hand in yours and looks into your eyes. "i'll do anything to regain your trust.

he senses the hesitation in your eyes and honestly, he can't blame you. you've been harboring this guilt for a week and it makes sense that you're still feeling a little uncomfortable around him.

but to his surprise, you inch your way closer to him and hug his chest and the tears begin to fall. his body tenses and he feels so guilty about everything. he rubs reassuring circles on your back and kisses your head every few moments.

after you wipe your tears on his shirt, you look up at him and honestly kuroo hates to admit this but you still look gorgeous even with a tear stained face. he's grinning at you and begins to pepper your face with his kisses.

"love you to the moon and back," he whispers into your ear.

you chuckle and kiss him on the lips. "love you to the moon and back, tetsu."

in that moment, he swears to himself that he'll make sure that you never have to doubt his love for you ever again.

kozume kenma

as the ceo of his own startup company, a youtube streamer, and a college student, kenma can almost never find any time to himself. the only time he really feels at peace is either when he's asleep or when he's with you.

but sometimes things get so hectic and suffocating, he just wants to be alone, away from the world.

after a long day of classes, you walk into your shared apartment and you can hear kenma talking from his bedroom/home office. you try to keep quiet not disturbing him.

in hopes of cheering him up, you decide what better way to do so by making his favorite food: apple pie. you put down your stuff on the living room couch, grab the apron, and get to work.

kenma stays locked up in his bedroom for the majority of time that you're baking and a part of you just hopes that maybe he'll come out to just say "hi" or just accompany you to see what you're up to but unfortunately he doesn't.

after the pie is done baking in the oven and you've brought him a slice so he can get some food in his system because you're sure he hasn't been taking care of himself. you're hoping that maybe, just maybe, the both of you will finally get to spend some time together.

you knock on the door twice.

no response.

you knock once more and call out his name, "kenma, you busy still?"

still no response.

you sigh, realizing there was no hope in knocking, and decide to twist the knob and enter his room. you're greeted with the sight of him sitting on his gaming chair, knees to his chest, headphones over his ears, and slightly biting the eraser top of his pencil.

he must have felt the presence of someone else in the room with him because he looked away from his computer screen and his eyes widened. he slid his headphones off his ear and hung them around his neck.

"how long have you been home?" he bluntly asks.

"for an hour or two now, i think," you reply.

“oh sorry, i didn’t see you,” he mumbles.

you chuckle in response. “i didn’t think you would considering you’ve been cooped up in your room the entire time.”

“well yeah,” he says. “i’m busy.”

as he’s about to put his headphones back on and get back to work, you speak up. “i know you’re busy but do you wanna eat with me? i made-”

“can we talk later? i don’t have time for your clinginess right now.”

oh.

he puts his headphones on and indulges himself back in his work, not even registering the weight of his words.

you slowly walk out of his room, silently close the door, grab yourself a slice of apple pie originally made for the both of you, and plop yourself on the couch to watch some new show on the television.

after working for nearly hours on end, kenma finally finishes the load of work he had piled. now all he wants to do is just spend some time with you before going to bed. he walks out of the bedroom and is greeted by you asleep with the television humming in the background.

he can't help but let a small smile envelop his features. it's such a domestic sight and he wants to photograph this moment in time.

he knows he said some harsh words to you out of frustration but he hopes that you understand that he didn’t truly mean them.

he goes over and kisses your forehead and he smells the distinctive scent of apple pie and his heart softens at the thought that you made him his favorite food.

he goes over to his bedroom, grabs a blanket and lays it over you and goes under the blanket, snuggling himself closer to you. he hasn't felt this relaxed in a while and your presence is just so comforting to him.

he doesn't know what he'd do without you.

the next morning, you wake up and find yourself in an awkward position and your feel arms wrapped around your torso. you look to your left and are greeted by kenma's sleeping figure and you can't help but smile.

but you remind yourself of what he told you yesterday and you silently get up from the couch and begin to get ready for the rest of your day.

his words, "i don't have time for your clinginess right now", really had sent you into a spiral last night and you were too exhausted to think clearly. did you always come off as clingy to him? you were definitely a bit more energetic and enthusiastic than him but you never thought it was clingy?

you can't seem to think straight so you decide to maybe go out for a walk, just to take your mind off things. you just need some time alone, away from your apartment with him.

kenma wakes up only a few minutes later and he feels cold. his neck is sore, considering how he slept in an uncomfortable position because he wanted to sleep with you. however, to his surprise, he doesn't find you asleep next to him.

as he walks around the house, calling your name, a sense of urgency begins to form in the pit of his stomach.

he dials your number and it goes to voicemail.

he does it again. still voicemail.

he's about to call you one more time until he hears the jangle of keys and the door opening. a sigh of relief leaves his mouth and as you're about to turn your keys to open the door, he's a step ahead of you, opening the door for you.

"oh my god, i thought you went missing," kenma hugs you, catching you by surprise. "where'd you go?"

hesitant to reply, you say, "oh just went on a walk, that's all."

"you should've told me, we could've gone together," he states. "i feel like we haven't seen each other in forever."

"it's fine. don't worry about it."

there's something wrong and he can sense it in your demeanor. as you're heading to the master bedroom, he can see the way your shoulders slump as you put your keys back. he doesn't address your distant behavior, thinking that you're just having a rough morning and it'll get better as the day goes on.

unfortunately, it doesn't get better.

you seem to be fine but you just feel incredibly distant.

kenma's been playing games in his room all day and unlike usual, you're not in his bedroom watching him play or sitting on the bed scrolling through your phone. his gaming experience isn't the same when you're not there.

he pauses his game and goes out to the living room to see you lying down on the couch, scrolling through videos on your phone. he wants to ask why you're not staying with him but he doesn't want to make overstep your boundaries, especially since it seems like you're not in a good mood.

but that's anything from what you want.

you want him to ask you to stay in his room and keep you company. but because he hasn't done so, his word "clingy" began to scream louder in your head and to be frank, that's the only thing roaming in your head.

"do you want to do anything today?" he asks. "you know.. because it's the weekend and we can go out if you want? like going out to eat?"

a part of you began to feel guilty considering he was thinking about what you wanted to do and you hated feeling like a burden towards him. he already expressed his disapproval with you when he said he found you clingy so you didn't want to impose any further.

"no it's okay," you reply, eyes glued to your phone. "i don't want to annoy you or anything.. so i'll just go on my own or something..."

he hums in response but his eyebrows furrow as he doesn't seem to move from his spot. he can tell there's something wrong and you're obviously being very dodgy with him about the subject which is why he decides to take a seat on the couch and snatch your phone from your hands before you can even register what's happened.

"hey give me back my phone!" you sit up, stretching yourself over to grab your phone back from him in a failed attempt.

"not until you tell me what's wrong," he says flat.

you sigh, knowing that this conversation isn't inevitable. you can't avoid him forever "you called me clingy yesterday, kenma. sorry that i don't really want to hang out with you right now."

the words that leave your mouth have kenma in a state of shock. you took that seriously? you really thought he meant that? in order to ease his busy day of meetings back to back, you came home baked him some apple pie to ease him from his stresses.

and what did he do in return? called you clingy when you just wanted to spend some well-deserved time with him. god, he was being so ungrateful. his body fills with guilt when he he realizes you took his comment to heart.

“honey, i-” he starts and then is cut off with your words.

"i understand where you were coming from, i like to show my affection with you through physical touch and i know you’ve never been one to really reciprocate that," you begin to ramble. "so i’m really sorry for pushing your boundaries and i’ll give you the space that you need."

guilt is eating him away and he needs to clear the air now, otherwise you might be closed off forever and he’s not sure if he’s ever going to be able to reconnect with you.

“y/n, honey, don't apologize for this. it’s not your fault at all,” he starts. he puts down the phone onto the couch and grabs both of your hands and squeezes them assuringly. “i'm sorry for pushing you away and calling you clingy. you didn't.. you never deserve to be told that."

his hand finds its way to your cheek and he begins to rub comforting slow circles. seeing the sullen look on your face made him realize that he never wants to see you like this ever again. it was like you had lost the light in your eyes. kenma hated how he had diminished that so quickly by making you think that he didn't like your company.

he loves you so much; he could never imagine what life would be like without your presence.

a small smile begins to creep back on to your face and kenma finds himself in a slight sense of relief.

"it's okay," you finally utter out. "do you wanna watch that new episode? apparently there is so much drama now and i'm avoiding socials so i don't get spoiled..."

he chuckles, "i'll do anything with you."

he knows that he can't take back his words from before but as he's sitting on the couch with you in his embrace, he knows he can show you his love through his actions. he'll do anything to bring back that trust to you.

Cooking Crush ep 10: This Show Has My Whole Heart

I wrote about some of the things Cooking Crush is doing so well in my response to a recent ask, and so I'm particularly glad that episode 10 came through with a strong flourish to get us set up the last two episodes.

I wanted to call out a few specific things this episode did that are contributing to why it's working so well for me.

First, I want to mention that the reciprocity continues! Previously, we had Prem comforting Ten during a panic attack post adrenaline crash. In this episode, Ten comforts and supports Prem during his worries about Samsee and the competition.

Picking up on something else I've talked about before, this show is committed to its character's arcs. Fire is struggling with his sexuality and his desire to keep their relationship secret last episode led to the conflict between Samsee and Dynamite this episode. Fire showing up to support Dy in public, giving him affection, and using the petname Dy insisted on having is all evidence of Fy's increasing comfort with it. He's already said before he intends to tell his mother, and Dy has been clear he's not rushing him. The way Dy is so careful with Fire but also so receptive to and appreciative of what Fire is able to give warms my heart (pun intended). And Samsee and Prem seeing it and reacting supportively too, because they know what this means to their friend!

I also want to talk about how this conflict with Samsee hits Dynamite hard, and in the context of knowing he's lost relationships with his parents because of his sexuality, to think his relationship with Fire could have lost him a close friend must be bringing back up his feelings about being cut out of the lives of people he loves. However, it speaks to the strength of his bond with Samsee that even though Samsee is furious and not speaking with him, he does not kick Dy out of his apartment. Dy mentions that he didn't see Samsee the night before the competition because Samsee didn't come home (we find out later why, but I loved this subtle nod to the fact that unlike Dy's own parents, Samsee didn't abandon Dy when he made choices that hurt him. I AM IN MY QUEER FOUND FAMILY FEELINGS, FRIENDS).

Along these lines, Ten going to confess to Prem, noticing that these friends are having a moment, and quietly stepping away to give them space is such a good character moment for him, since previously he's been begging to be let in to their shared space even when Prem mentions he's concerned about its impact on his friends and their relationship. Ten's realizing he can't be everything for Prem, and it's better for both of them if he isn't.

That scene of reconciliation, the three friends re-establishing how important they are to one another, that got to me. And that the show prioritized it over the romance! I cannot tell you how much I love that this was an explicit decision the show made, to say 'no, this is not the time for a confession, this friendship reconciliation is more important right now'. And I love that the show gives us a solid, character-grounded reason for why Samsee reacted so strongly to being left out in the first place. We've been told Samsee has changed school majors 3 times, and it's been played as a joke as well as an explanation for why he's an older student. I love that we've now had the consequences of those changes on Samsee's friendships added to his story. Even a "joke" backstory has ramifications for the characters in this show, I am obsessed.

I also want to mention that I am loving what the show is doing with Samsee and Metha, two characters who are the "fuck-ups" of their friend groups, but who are also the most loyal and most supportive of them all. They conflict with one another around what that support looks like, even while they enable one another to continue to be the best friends to their respective besties.

Prem has struggled this entire show to use his words, and in particular he's visibly wrestled with how he can gracefully reject Chef Changma without putting his own career at risk. In this episode he manages to say 'I don't think that [a hug] would be a good idea', and he's ignored. Ten immediately steps in, but I wanted to highlight how big a deal it is for Prem to have said no to this Chef--who he's idolized, who is his mentor, and who is a judge of the competition he's in--in this moment.

When we do get to the confession, Prem continues to lead with action, and Ten continues to push him to use his words. I love so much that Ten never lets him get away with copping out of saying the words, since it's something we know Prem struggles so much with. This speaks to @lurkingshan's earlier post about how Cooking Crush shows us its leads are better thanks to their relationship (in the same way that Fire self-actualizing and being more free to be himself and express affection also speaks to this point).

Beyond character arcs, there's one other thing I am very excited for heading into episode 11 next week, and that's the conflicts in this show converging so brilliantly. So far, the show has set up a few conflicts: Ten's relationship with his father, the cooking competition, the bullies, Fire's relationship with his mother, and Chef Changma's interest in Prem. All of these have now been queued up to expertly converge as a single conflict in ep 11, based on the preview. With Changma's advance and subsequent punch being recorded and distributed (I'm placing bets that this was recorded by one of the bullies, btw), Ten's father once again steps in the way of this relationship that he sees as a detriment to his son. Prem also previously stated that he wanted to enter the competition in order to prove to Ten's dad that he has potential, so these threads were already starting to come together weeks ago. Even if I'm wrong about the bullies having been the ones to record that video, they're sitll in the competition as competitors. And of course Fire has promised Dy he'd come out after the competition, tying the last thread of these conflicts all together around this single event.

And this is what I mean when I say the writing on this show is so good. Because the characters are coherent and consistent and have clear arcs, and the conflicts are grounded in the characters, even though there are several threads, they come together easily and in a way that makes perfect sense and that work with the character arcs rather than against them.

The last thing I'll mention, because it's something I actually brought up as a negative to this show previously, is the use of non-linear storytelling. Cooking Crush has used non-linear storytelling several times, showing us a scene and then flashing back to what happened before that scene in order to fill in the gaps. This can be an effective storytelling tool, but it has to accomplish something in the narrative. The difference between unnecessary and excellently-deployed non-linear storytelling is whether or not there's a good answer to this question: What is the purpose of delaying this information to the audience, and how does that delay affect the audience understanding of what they're seeing? In previous instances, for example the kiss and then flashback to the full date, knowing that Ten and Prem kissed at the end of their date didn't add anything to the viewing experience of watching their date, and having seen their date didn't change my experience of the kiss. This is why I consider it an ineffective use of that technique.

In episode 10, however, we get the cold open that shows Ten joining Prem and Samsee in the competition, and then we flash back. Knowing Ten will be joining Prem and Dynamite in the competition helps to colour what we see about Prem and Dy trying to get Samsee to reconcile with them, as well as Samsee's absence. When we get to Ten stepping in, we have learned it was as much a surprise (and disappointment) to Prem and Dy as it was to us. Ten stepping in doesn't actually work, but it does give Prem the courage to ask if they can compete as a duo, rather than just letting themselves be disqualified without a fight. And we later find out that Samsee was so touched by the letter that he went to his hometown to dig for prawns and that's why he was late for the competition. [I also wanted to mention this because based on @respectthepetty's roundup post it sounds like the cold open was cut for the youtube version]

I lied, I have one more actual last thing, this one is obvious but I can't not say it: THANK YOU to this show for consistently queueing up the typical miscommunication fumbles that get so annoying in every BL (in most romance plots of any sexuality) and then saying NOT TODAY SATAN and having the characters choose vulnerability and honesty and bravery, and talking it out. Every time the show does this (and it's at least 2x per episode, no exaggeration) I feel a little more faith in romance writing restored.

OFFICIAL NOVEL: Kiseki Dear to Me Rundown From Start to End (A PRETTY LONG POST)

I briefly shared a brief read through of the last two chapters (and also what we can expect will happen in episodes 9-13) for Kiseki Dear to Me yesterday, and now that I have a bit of time, here's a slightly more detailed look through the novel! The drama was adapted from the novel so I think we can more or less expect some of these details in the novel turn up in the drama as well, although I've already seen some differences, mostly due to timing.

Also another thing to note is that the novel's protagonists were clearly Bai Zongyi and Fan Zherui, so the others really don't feature in terms of deepening relationship at all, but disclaimer that I'm still doing a skim through for now, haven't had time to read every word ;-;

Title: Kiseki Dear to Me (same name) Total: 1 Prologue + 10 Chapters + 2 Extras + 1 Special Feature (?) Author: Lin Peiyu, who's behind quite a number of well known TW BLs, including H3T

NOVEL SPOILERS IN FULL BELOW

(1) Prologue

Ai Di curses as he and Bai Zongyi leave the prison, and he makes the mistake of looking back as it's considered a taboo for released prisoners to look back at their place on incarceration (because it means you're gonna go back)

BZY: Well if you obey the law from now on you won't have a chance to come back, and Ai Di goes: Who the hell do you think I am of course I'm going to get into trouble and how can you say that to me, I protected you for a year!!

Chen Yi picks Ai Di up in a sports car and Ai Di scolds Chen Yi because how's he gonna give BZY a ride in a two-seated but Chen Yi doesn't want to bring BZY any more potential negative trouble, and drives off

Ai Di is like why is it so depressing when I should be happy and Chen Yi said: That your damn problem and Ai Di is all: We haven't seen each other for a year and you're still so nasty to me

(2) Chapter 1

Mostly the same as the drama, BZY meets FZR who's injured for the first time, Ai Di goes crazy hitting people when they lose FZR

Chen Yi teases Ai Di saying if he smokes any more he's not going to grow taller to which Ai Di says, "Are you so damn great just because you're 180cm?!"

FZR cooking > All these are the same, the only thing is they packed eps 1-3 all in the first chapter

In the car when FZR is picked up by Ai Di and Chen Yi, they talk a bit about how FZR is someone that Chen Dongyang passed to Chen Yi to protect and that's why he puts so much attention on him, and FZR is like "oh so anyone who matters to Chen Dongyang you'll protect? oh, i forgot, except for Er-Ye (second boss, Zhou Minglei) and ISTG Chen Yi is so damn wild?! He goes, "He's (Zhou Minglei) is still alive, that's as much as I am tolerating him" (because he's jealous he gets to be with Chen Dongyang) > THIS IS WAY MORE OBVIOUS HERE THAN IN THE DRAMA

(3) Chapter 2

Technically when FZR leaves BZY's house and intends not to see him again, they next meet in the school in drama with FZR as a teacher, but in the novel, FZR comes back to the house drunk with BZY cuz he missed BZY unconsciously and also because BZY was working at the place he got drunk at, and also got into a fight at

Ends with scared-of-the-rain scene with FZR comforting BZY

(4) Chapter 3

WHEN THEY WAKE UP IN BED THE NEXT DAY THEY ARE ALREADY GETTING SMEXY WITH EACH OTHER like cuz they're in the same bed from FZR comforting BZY who was scared of the rain the night before, and when they wake up, they couldn't help it and FZR basically pounced on BZY - they don't go all the way tho, strictly hands only until Ai Di calls and interrupts them

Ai Di treats FZR's wounds and we can really see how great friends they are because Ai Di is lived as hell that FZR is hurt and cursing up a storm and FZR is all "if I die, do you wanna bet you'll be the saddest out of everyone?" LMAO

And we get the student framing scene, but FZR is not a teacher AT ALL he's there as BZY's cousin, and he comes to school all decked in like riches and everyone is like OMG IS BZY A RICH BOY

After that we get the same thing i.e. FZR asking BZY if he did well at defending him, the hug and the likes

Difference is BZY gets home that night and gets a fever because he was burnt by the chemicals from the incident in the classroom with the girl who framed him after not handling rejection well

FZR takes care of him really well and they're really attracted to each other and can feel that deep connection and are super drawn to each other idek how to put it

Ai Di ends up at a "part-time job" without telling Chen Yi

(5) Chapter 4

Gangster boss meeting NOT in the bathhouse but in a regular meeting room and everyone is present, and obviously Zhou Minglei is scolding Chen Yi but Chen Dongyang is obviously protective over Chen Yi and excusing his actions (same as drama)

Chen Dongyang tries to convince FZR to go back to his family

FZR goes back to BZY after a while (at least a few days or weeks because everytime they reunite in this chapter and past few chapters, FZR makes a comment about how he's now taller etc.)

BZY confesses, and wishes to grow up faster so he can have FZR

(6) Chapter 5

FZR avoids BZY and asks Chen Yi why they all keep asking him to go back to the Fan family (same as drama), then he runs back to BZY's place because of the rain and BZY is hurt (same as drama too)

And then yes same the drama they sleep together for the first time (and a few times after lol)

(7) Chapter 6

The morning after, unlike the drama, they do get their second morning round in

And then some time after BZY actually gets to orientation at med school, and somehow finds out that FZR might have something to do with the Fan family, and realises he's not FZR's match in terms of status

FZR talks about his past, and then BZY tells him again that he loves him for him, and then FZR says "you're my man" and BZY goes insane obviously

After they confirm their feelings again, FZR decides that he can't keep living the half-gangsta life and decides to leave the gang and head back home

He bids farewell to Chen Yi and Ai Di quite formally like with a cup of tea and they don't say goodbye because from today onwards their paths are different and will never cross again (WTS?!?!! drama much?!)

Chen Yi tries to look for Zhang Teng

(8) Chapter 7

BZY's fam comes to visit, and then they stay over

FZR suggests that BZY moves in with him and same as drama, all the sweet promises and trying to build a future together

While they're rolling in the sheets, FZR threatens BZY and say if he dares to break any promises to him he would kill him LOL

(9) Chapter 8

Chased down by Zhang Teng's men just after they move in together

There's no backstory for Zhang Teng and FZR either, ZY just plain hates Chen Yi and co, and the same thing where he ends up dying too

As FZR is undergoing surgery, BZY asks Chen Yi and Ai Di if they're cops or gangsters and Ai Di is like oh the latter, and then FZR's grandpa, dad, younger brother and mother come

They meet but don't say much to each other and then afterwards BZY is no longer able to see FZR, and FZR's parents sell the house and tell BZY not to cling onto FZR anymore etc., and FZR basically realises what a shitty ass home FZR lived in and why he wanted to run away and join the gang

BZY's dad ends up in the hospital and he's at the hospital when Chen Dongyang finds him and convinces him to take the rap for FZR, and BZY himself realises what grandpa Fan is doing, he wants to break them up

But he agrees anyway because if FZR wakes up and turns himself in it might be a death sentence

Chen Dongyang is super unhappy he had to pass the news to BZY like this under grandpa Fan's requests, who he owes a favour too, and really hates and regrets that he ruined BZY's future, and he scolds Chen Yi and tells him that they would forever owe BZY one till the day they die

Ai Di goes to the hospital, sneaks in and whispers the news to FZR hoping it'd wake him up, so turns out Zhang Teng went after FZR because he realised he was from the Fan family (wtf is the link idk, they don't really say it here) after FZR's third uncle let the news leak to him

He tells him BZY is in jail and what grandpa Fan did to him and FZR finally reacts, but he asks who Ai Di is after he wakes up

Ai Di: SERIOUSLY?!

(10) Chapter 9

BZY gets out of jail, returns home to his dad and sister, and poor bb is depressed af. They urge him to go back to med school since he doesn't have a record anyway, but he tells them that he hurt his head in jail and has severe short term memory loss, like he can be saying one thing one moment and forgetting it the next and saying it again, he needs his notebook to help him remember

They both know why he went to jail and dad is guilty af and angry af at FZR but BZY told him he doesn't regret doing it for the person he loves

Dad tries to creep up on BZY but BZY reacts very badly, because he had to protect himself in prison from terrible people

And while his brain can't handle med school anymore, BZY takes the money that grandpa Fan and Chen Dongyang promised his four years ago and opens a dessert shop to sell the desserts he promised FZR he would make for him

FZR at this point is getting scolded by his grandpa, and his younger bro, heir to the Fan family, is speaking up for him

Once FZR leaves the room, grandpa Fan tells younger bro to make use of FZR and squeeze him dry because that's all the use he is

But once the younger bro leaves his grandpa, he meets FZR outside and tells him not to give too much of a shit about what grandpa said, and that's when it's revealed that FZR has NOT lost his memories

Younger bro has been hiding it for him all this while and they're working together - FZR wants revenge against third uncle and also his grandpa a little, while younger bro doesn't want to sit at the top of the family but still be subject to grandpa's control

Younger bro was also the one who told him all about BZY and what grandpa did to him the moment he woke up from the accident four years ago, and that's how he managed to pretend to be amnesiac in time

FZR is filled with guilt and self-blame and pain because where BZY is that's his home, but now he's ashamed to see him, but he still can't see him either because he needs to revenge first, makes sure it's safe

A new cafe opens near a university, and BZY makes the best desserts - his sister asks him why he doesn't go find FZR, and he just doesn't dare to anymore because of the way he is now, broken - AND SIMULTANEOUSLY FZR and his younger bro are seated in a car outside the bakery and younger bro is like "miracles don't happen just by you sitting on your ass here" and FZR also doesn't dare to go in and see BZY

He threatens his bro and makes him go in to buy desserts for him, and tears up when he realises all the desserts are familiar to him, that BZY was keeping his promise, but still doesn't go in

BUT SNEAKY LITTLE BRO!!! On the note he gives BZY, he writes a message "FZR didn't lose his memory, if you wanna see him come to xxx place tomorrow"

And BZY is convinced by his dad to take the leap

BZY goes to the address as stated the next day and realises he knocked on younger bro's door, and younger bro is like he's NEXT DOOR thanks

BZY goes in and sees FZR asleep, and a bottle of sedatives next to the bed. He wakes him up, and FZR thinks he's a figment of his imagination in his dreams because FZR, through the four years, has been using sedatives to fall asleep because that's the only place he sees BZY

They sleep together, FZR still thinking it's a dream, and only a bit later when he feels pain he realises that FUCK IT REALLY IS HIM

THEY ARE FINALLY WHOLE!!! THEY open their hearts to each other again and tell each what they're thinking and how scared they are etc., and they've found their way back to each other again

(11) Chapter 10

FZR and BZY are seeing each other again with FZR running between Taipei and Taichung, and then he finally runs into FZR's dad again

He's apologetic and regretful and ashamed, but dad is now understanding and gives his blessings

On the TV, news of Taiwan's imminent gay-marriage bill is on and BZY plans to propose and marry FZR, and FZR promises that in the future, he'll write in his notebook for him, he'll remember and make memories for them both

BED TIME! Happily ever after

(12) Extras + Others

Extra 1 is the scene in the drama where BZY's sister sees them kissing in FZR's living room

Extra 2 is between FZR and his brother, and his younger brother basically tells him that he's always known what FZR's mother was doing but he never cared about it because no matter what she or FZR did, whether he acted stupid or smart or whatever, FZR's brother's status at the heir would never change, and FZR is like wtf bro firstly, that's hurtful, secondly, you're telling me I could have just been less emo all these years, and then FZR's bro drops a bomb that HE IS GAY TOO and he's seeming someone and FZR is like "omg is grandpa Fan going to have a heart attack you've got two gay boys here huh"

Special Feature is just a routine day between dessert maker BZY and busy businessman FZR, a sweet, sweet day <3

Okay I'm honestly not at all surprised at the loopholes in the writing in the novel it's quite characteristic of quite a number of the authors' books LOL and I'm so damn happy the drama decided to take it up a notch and give colour to Ai Di, Chen Yi, Chen Dongyang and Zhou Minglei because DAMN the novel treated them like third-class citizens ok barely like a handful of mentions I'm like WHY DO YALL EVEN EXIST HERE IF NOT TO BE GAY AND BECOME CPs

Sad Zhang Teng too, he was literally just a token villain CAN U IMAGINE

wot deeper dive 2x4: daughter of the night

This specific post I am going to avoid any spoilers from the books! I will be doing another post later today that includes those spoilers and related thoughts.

I feel like I can safely call him 'Ishamael' now. The information is all there in the episodes.

I do like this initial 'calling' scene, though we got a lot of it teased to us before the season aired, so I've talked about it before. But we hear the word 'Lanfear' here, though it's followed by a lot of Old Tongue, so it might not have stood out too much to people who didn't already know that it's someone's name.

Given what we saw of the flashback last season "3000 years ago", I feel safe in saying... yeah, looks like Ishamael is among the ruins of that older civilization. Probably brings back some memories. Also, time-stamp note: it looks like he's wearing the black buttoned outfit that he wore last season, not the blue with the gold tie-clip-like design that he's been wearing this season.

3. The bloody woman! I wonder if she's bloody (and naked) because that's what she looked like when she got sealed up or if it's something that happened due to the process of unsealing. It looks like the seal was already partially damaged, so maybe that's why Lanfear was bloody when she woke up.

4. I loved Anveare's plotline through this episode. I really enjoy what the show is doing in showing us the downside of being a channeler -- outliving your friends and family, watching them grow old and die. Having children is a crapshoot -- if they're a girl, and they can channel, then it's a relatively normal parental relationship. But if they're a boy or if they're a girl who can't channel, then they will inevitably die before you. We're introduced to Anveare again by showing us her signs of aging -- she looks at the lines on her face and puts on an elaborately-styled wig to cover how white her real hair is.

5. Here's a question: given the age of her butler and how she talks later about needing to ask friends for food (and the general vibe of the manor house itself); it sounds like their house truly is fallen, as Moiraine mentioned in s1, and is having serious money issues (though in the way that nobility has money issues rather than the way that the people in the Foregate do -- she's not poor, she lacks funds) and Anveare seeks to fix the problems both of money and of her house's image by marrying her (unnamed for now) son to the Cairhienin queen (also unnamed for now). The interesting thing to me about this is that it means that her conversation with Rand in the last episode probably did have an element of genuine sympathy for the Foregaters in it -- it sounds like she's also felt like she could lose her home and her place in society. And it's implied that she's an artist! I really loved seeing the sketches and paintings in her study.

6. The conversation between Lady Anveare and Moiraine is so painful! Moiraine is NOT here to engage emotionally with her younger sister -- she is here to find Rand and to try to keep Lanfear away from him, and she has no time or patience for anything else (as we saw with her behavior with Lan as well). It's clear how frustrated Anveare is with Moiraine's behavior. I'm assuming that she guessed straight-away that Moiraine's appearance here had to do with the mysterious redheaded boy who visited Logain and made an appearance at a party (because it's also made clear in this episode that Logain being sent to Cairhien was not 'business as usual' with male channelers but an oddity, which means that Anveare has probably been keeping an eye on the sanatorium ever since he arrived) -- if Moiraine actually had been willing to slow down and take tea with her here, I wonder if Lady Anveare would have just told her about Rand. But Moiraine "my loyalty is to the Dragon Reborn and him alone" Sedai does not have the patience for such things. I like that we're really seeing the damage that Moiraine's singlemindedness has been doing to her relationships with the people around her. It's not targeted at Lan! It's everyone who gets in the way of what she thinks she must do! The way Moiraine sweeps back into the house and just immediately starts giving orders!

7. Guilty Rand and Selene ready to take advantage of it (twisting the knife by blaming herself for the fire when of course she knows how it really started). She's so manipulative! I love how effective she is as a villain here. She's good at finding weak spots and exploiting them without giving away that she's aware of what she's poking at. And the facial expressions are just... on point, always. But Rand is worried that he'll hurt anyone if he's around them, and the more he cares, the more he worries.

8. Poor Nynaeve. The Accepted testing really put her through the wringer. I like that we only hear the flashback here and that we don't actually flash back to the test. It just happened last episode! We can remember it fine. They did a good job of showing why Nynaeve is currently feeling more emotionally connected to Liandrin (who also has a child, like Nynaeve has the memory of having a child) than to Egwene, who has not experienced anything like what Nynaeve has gone through. And Nynaeve needing to take that moment to remember and go back to put her ring on. Egwene is trying to hard to connect with Nynaeve but Nynaeve just... she was essentially 'trained' by her time as a Wisdom not to want to burden 'the kids' with her troubles (we see that in the very first episode when she launches her Bel Tine lantern separate from the rest of the village, not letting them see her mourn the people she's lost).

Also: the Accepted rooms are a big upgrade from the novice rooms!

9. We transition from Nynaeve feeling out of place to Lan feeling out of place. He has his hair down, similarly to how he had it in her vision of her AU future, but the quiet happiness that was on his face in that future isn't here now. This is a slower-paced episode for Lan and he doesn't get a big reveal at the end of the episode like we get in most of the other plotlines but if I think of it as an Alanna-focused plotline rather than a Lan-focused plotline, there is a reveal -- the poem and, potentially, the worry that Lan and/or Moiraine might be Darkfriends (we'll maybe find out next week if that's where her thoughts went or if she instead assumes that Moiraine is hunting Darkfriends or something similar).

I mean, thinking about the information that Alanna has:

a. discovers this poem which references the Daughter of the Night -- she doesn't even want to believe that Lan knows who it's referring to! Because of the Implications.

b. talks about how Moiraine changed twenty years ago, very abruptly (this is also likely when Moiraine and Siuan had their very public falling-out) and became colder "like ice".

c. Moiraine was willing to use Alanna to threaten Lan with a forced bonding, which Alanna went along with because Moiraine is her friend, but she may now be thinking about that in a different way -- why would Moiraine want to push Lan away that hard? (this would be leaning into the idea that Moiraine is a Darkfriend and Lan isn't)

It's pretty suspicious, when you think about it! So... if I think of this plotline as less about the show trying to tell us about Lan and more about Alanna: Investigator (mirroring Moiraine: Investigator in Cairhien) in Cairhien, then I feel more patient about the slower pace. And Alanna: Investigator has two co-conspirators that she trusts absolutely, which is a big contrast to Moiraine, as is her relationship with her family! Where Moiraine is cold and pushes away her only relative that we meet, Alanna is warm and teasing and clearly has maintained strong bonds with her large and loving family.

We get three very distinct and different types of ways that Aes Sedai deal with being Aes Sedai and how that affects their family: you can be the cheerful guardian angel of your extended family, like Alanna is (and Maksim and Ihvon are clearly fully part of the family as well, and adored by the children); you can cut them off entirely, like Moiraine has; or you can keep them a secret so that your enemies can't use them against you, like Liandrin has.

10. Alanna always being hungry is such a great character choice. I think I may have read that it was initially the actress's idea? But they are definitely playing into it this season and it works so well, on so many levels. She is a woman of strong appetites, who isn't ashamed to show it. And, like she did with Egwene and sex in 2x1, she's assuming here that Lan also has large appetites (for food, in this case).

11. This scene with Alanna does feel like it gives us a lot of information -- Maksim and Ihvon are on suicide watch for Lan (suicide is a big theme in this episode, actually), but Alanna doesn't think that's the issue here. We learn that Alanna plans to return to the Tower the next day, and we get the info drop about Moiraine's abrupt change twenty years ago. We also have Alanna feeling Lan out about his current plans. Despite what other characters say, Alanna herself doesn't much behave like she's planning to bond Lan imo. She mentions Nynaeve to him here and presents Nynaeve as the potential new option for him. But Lan was just told in 2x2 by Moiraine that he failed her as a Warder and he felt that too -- he wasn't able to protect her just by himself and so he's doubting himself.

In... certain ways, what Moiraine did to Lan over the last few months is not dissimilar to what Liandrin did to Mat, in terms of making them doubt themselves as a person. Their motivations were different but the results appear somewhat similar -- both Lan and Mat are adrift and not certain which direction to turn. "Where would I go?" seems to be the question on both their minds. Lan doesn't feel he would be any use to Nynaeve, just as Mat doesn't feel he would be any use to Egwene.

12. Moiraine looking at all the little pieces of her youth -- the dollhouse, the mirror, the books, the music box, the... cigars? And I love her silhouette her in Cairhienin dress. It's so distinctive. She allows herself some softness here, when she's alone, that she doesn't allow when she's around Anveare. Moiraine: Investigator is now out on the town! This scene is even more interesting knowing that Celestin (head of the sanatorium) sends reports to Lady Anveare. I wonder if Lady Anveare has already guessed that the redheaded boy is a man who can channel, given who he was interested in meeting and that Moiraine went to speak with him too.

13. Loved Moiraine and Logain's scene but, wow, very sharp and intense. She tries to bribe him with the wine and fails, but she does successfully bribe him with the promise of being allowed to kill himself if he does want she asks (which really puts it into perspective how terrible it is to lose the One Power). We get our explanation here of why the gentled false dragon was in Cairhien instead of Tar Valon (bait for Rand) and it's so good! Definitely a joint venture between Siuan and Moiraine -- I imagine that Moiraine penned her a desperate message as soon as she was able to, after realizing at the Eye that she'd screwed up by letting Rand leave. I imagine they also probably made it very public gossip that the false dragon was in Cairhien, explaining how Rand found out about it in the first place.

14. It does sound here like Moiraine's current plan is to stay in Cairhien so that Rand can learn from Logain, but it's very possible that discovering Lanfear in bed with Rand at the end of the episode has changed her plans. We will see!

...also I love Moiraine's pockets.

15. Poor Egwene trying to sort through her feelings, while Elayne does her best to be supportive. Elayne is very sensible-head here, which I appreciate. This isn't a situation that Egwene can 'fix' for Nynaeve, no matter how much she wants to help. It's a lovely and sweet moment between the two of them that shows their growing friendship, and we also get to see them doing chores at the same time, which shows us that Elayne is settling with the White Tower routine. Egwene feeling small and useless in the Tower. Baby. *hugs*

16. And then we get the flipside of things and see Nynaeve's discomfort in the Tower and with being Accepted. She tries to go to the Warder's training ground to find Maksim and Ihvon, but only finds a friendly Warder-in-training who has heard the hot gossip about her skills and is interested in presenting himself as a potential bonding option for her. We do see here that it's the specific friendships that she'd formed already that she was seeking out in the earlier episode when she sparred with Maksim and Ihvon, and not simply sword training itself.

17. Liandrin spots this conversation and then receives a message. This is where we get our discussion between Liandrin and Leane about the invaders on the western coast. The conversation is very vague with Leane, but then when she talks to Nynaeve later, Liandrin suddenly has a bunch of information about a specific group that was captured by the Seanchan. Given that we do find out in this episode that Liandrin is working with Ishamael (from the Mat & Min plotline), it's easy to guess where she got her information about Perrin and Loial's capture.

I love Leane's little shoulder wrap thing. The fashion in this show just vibes with me. I enjoy it. We do learn here that sisters were sent to investigate the attacks in the west.

I am very curious about what explanation they'll give for where Siuan currently is. They've made it a mystery and pointed out twice now that it's a mystery (both here and in 2x1, in the conversation between Egwene and Nynaeve).

18. Aw, wolves! This scene is great. Perrin gets some answers from Elyas, we learn about how the wolfbrother business works, Perrin learns that he isn't a werewolf, and we meet Hopper! What a cutie! I really liked the visualizations and the sendings of the wolves. We also learn that the wolves have been seeing Perrin's dreams.

I love how Elyas clearly is trying to help Perrin but his idea of help is just kinda... off from what Perrin thinks of help as.

I really like how seriously the show has taken Perrin's grief over Laila.

19. Lan has been obsessing over the poem, and Maksim catches him putting it away (explaining how Maksim knew where to look in the later scene). So... if I'm thinking about this storyline in terms of Alanna: Investigator, then Maksim talking to Lan here is just as much about trying to get information out of Lan as it is about trying to 'help' Lan get over his 'broken' bond with Moiraine.

"Have you ever known a marriage that is exactly the same another?" I do like that they are establishing that Warder bonds can come in all different kinds of ways.

20. Now we are back with Moiraine: Investigator, who is trying to figure out where Rand might have gone after the inn that he was staying in burned down. (I assume this conversation was also reported to Lady Anveare, lol)

21. Lanfear admits a small lie to Rand here (to get him adjusted to the idea that she can lie to him and it's okay?), saying that her family never came here, that it was actually her and her ex. Lanfear constantly talking about her ex with Rand: haha, I understand why he's just ugh, "Ugh, idk he sounds boring [aka I don't want to talk about your ex-boyfriend 24/7]" especially since we know from the conversation later that Rand has caught feelings for 'Selene' even though he was trying his hardest not to. He's likely assuming that the ex was older and more sophisticated and it makes him feel young and unsophisticated in comparison when she keeps bringing said ex up.

The music here is so good.

22. Mat and Min! This is a cute interaction, though it's colored by the fact that the viewers know that Min is working with Liandrin. Mat is so so adorable here and I'm glad he was able to shed the coat for this scene. Also, Min paying the bartender to get Mat drunk (so that he'll sleep through her 'meeting' later).

23. This conversation with Nynaeve and Liandrin is so good and so manipulative. Liandrin is able to take the information that Nynaeve discovered (about her son) and use it for her own benefit. I do think there's a certain amount of regret for her that she's pulling the trigger on the plan that she was given to follow by Ishamael (from her apology later) but there's no hesitation. We know from the conversation with Min in a little bit that Ishamael makes promises. "I couldn't risk losing the only thing in this world that's truly mine." A reason to make a deal with Ishamael? And she offers the carrot here for Nynaeve to take -- people you love are in danger. She knows Nynaeve well enough to know that Nynaeve will take the bait, and likely assumes that Egwene will get swept along with Nynaeve (she saw how much Egwene cares about Nynaeve last episode).

It's only Elayne that was a 'complication'.

24. So, again, in the context of Alanna: Investigator... Ihvon trying to work out why Moiraine left Lan behind (and being the distraction), while Maksim and Alanna snoop in his stuff. We do also learn here that Alanna and her Warders all agree on their top priorities: the Light winning out over the Dark (and then dessert).

25. Genuinely enjoyed Anvaere successfully playing Moiraine. This is her city! She's the one who stayed! She knows the place and the people. And it's a good reminder to Moiraine that people who can't channel can be just as capable as those who can. She left Lan behind to protect him, but Lan is willing to risk his life for this, just as Moiraine is. Anvaere has been doing the hard work of re-establishing their house and family after their uncle did something that destroyed their reputations (unspecified). And Anvaere got what she was after from the beginning -- for her big sisters to sit down and have tea with her.

26. Elayne and Egwene's conversation here is very cute. Elayne has lived with duty all her life. She's just perfect in this scene (she's perfect).

Nynaeve not expecting Egwene to come with her has to be SUCH a blow for Egwene to hear. That Nynaeve has misunderstood her so badly, that she's believed that Egwene is after power for power's sake, rather because she wants to use that power to help people (and especially the people she loves).

And Elayne following them. So cute!

Of course, then Liandrin shows up. But it was very cute until then!

27. "No one escapes their fate. You know that better than anyone." This dream that Ishamael pushes on her, so that she'll be more receptive to his offer, really is so heartbreaking. No wonder she wanted to escape and travel and go as far away as she could. The show has done such a good job setting up believable emotional stakes for the characters.

The second that Min realizes who she really made a deal with, she wants to break it. And here is where we officially find out where Ishamael wants Mat to be led: to Cairhien.

Of course, Rand is in Cairhien. And Min had that viewing about Mat stabbing Rand. But she doesn't know that Rand is in Cairhien. Interesting puzzle pieces.

28. Once we know that Lanfear is a Forsaken, I feel like we can guess that she set up this entire scenario (ex. why are they sleeping outside? Selene said she wanted to, probably, to set up the scene properly) -- she brought the Fade here, she wanted Rand to use the One Power so that she could act out the part of Distressed Girlfriend Struggling With Learning Her Boyfriend Can Channel. She does such a good job, too. She really plays on his fears and how desperate he is to still feel like himself. You can really see how his heart his breaking when she pulls away from him.

Natasha and Josha are so good in this scene. There are so many levels. She also manages to continue to give surprisingly solid life advice, which is somehow incredibly hilarious to me. But I feel like Rand is, uh, probably going to believe all that advice is terrible now.

We also see that Rand is learning the sword but still isn't very good at it, as the Fade quickly disarms him and he needs to use the Power in order to protect himself and (probably more importantly to his mind) 'Selene'.

29. There is definitely a part of me that wishes that this had just been a romance scene. Rand getting tied up (and liking it)! 'Selene' literally thumbs open his mouth for their kiss! The way she kisses down his body and the expression on his face! It was a very very sensual scene, very well done. "You are the first woman who's seen me as a man" he tells her and I think he means that pretty precisely -- he loved Egwene but he still felt like a boy with her.

But instead of being a romance scene it's, you know, a deeply traumatic moment for Rand and will hamper his ability to engage in emotional intimacy (which will also potentially lead to other delicious angst in the future, though, I hope). We've definitely been getting a lot of trauma for our youngsters set up in recent episodes and we're only half-way through the season, so plenty of time for more trauma.

So far, we have:

a. Mat has been, essentially, emotionally sabotaged by months of Liandrin picking away at his brain; and we know that he's been set loose to follow a plan laid out by Ishamael which is not likely to lead to rainbows and puppies (I will have some theories in my later post with book spoilers).

b. Nynaeve suffered the trauma of the arches and now has been betrayed when she finally had come around to trusting and respecting Liandrin Sedai.

c. Perrin watching one of the men that he's been traveling with killed in an incredibly brutal way and being helpless to do anything about it. He also was told that what he is brings him closer to the Dark One.

d. Egwene has been the main target of all the 'fake-out deaths' in the show -- Nynaeve in episode 1 (which she believed until episode 6); Rand in the current season; and then Nynaeve again last episode.

e. After struggling with his identity all last season, and making the choice to abandon his friends for their own safety, Rand has built himself a new life but couldn't help himself from caring for the new people in it. Just as he'd given in to his emotions about Selene (who he has potentially been sleeping with for months at this point) and she appears to have accepted him as a male channeler! ...he learns that she's essentially a super-charged version of Dana (to simplify things). He literally gets covered in her blood while he watches helplessly, gets hit with incredibly distressing news that he can't question because he knows the person saying it can't lie, and then has to abandon this woman that he's come to love while she's lying dead on the floor and his sword still has her blood on it. Formative trauma centering around emotional intimacy and sexual engagement, table for one!

30. Alanna, Maksim, and Ihvon also realize here that one of the Forsaken is loose, which is gonna confirm their belief that the Last Battle is at hand. Alanna doesn't want to believe that Lan knows he's been carrying around a prophecy about one of the Forsaken, aww.

31. Lanfear reveal! This ending was so intense. Moiraine attacking Selene but explaining that she couldn't kill her and then that blink at the end. So good!

Has Dirk ever actually eaten steak?

(TW casual animal death I guess, sorry)

Okay, so this is a total shitpost idea I had last night on Tweeter and I said I'd make it a post here, so I'm following through. Bear with me, because if I jump past my thought process, I'll probably sound like a total maniac for even imagining this.

Let me back up.

I was thinking about Dirk (a normal occurrence). Then I start thinking about Nepeta, since they have the same Aspect. And then I start thinking about Tavros' cat allergies. So then I circle back to Dirk, since Dirk has obviously never seen a cat in person before, and therefore has no built-up immunity to cat dander, and would definitely be hella allergic. (Also, it's been my headcanon since, like, the dawn of time, that Dirk would have a shit immune system when it comes to humans, on account of never being around another person in his life, and he probably gets super sick upon meeting up with people in person for the first time.)

Back to the steak quote. Dirk has obviously never eaten like, actual steak from a cow before. Cows probably don't even exist anymore, outside of maybe a scant few super high elevation places on the other side of the globe. He probably wouldn't be able to digest it well regardless, since he's never had red meat. Dirk says he fishes, and he's obviously got seagulls around, so that's probably also on the menu (besides the super expired canned and dry ration shit left behind), and it's as natural as eating chicken is for everyone else (cough chicken of the sea joke cough), and he assumes that's what chicken is supposed to taste like, which leads to a hilarious spit-take for his first time trying actual chicken.

Moving forward to post-game. We're gonna set this scenario inside a neat little anime beach episode setting where everyone is happy and alive, because that makes it hilarious. Everyone's having a chill day at the beach. The seagulls presumably pester everyone who has a shiny bag of chips in their hands. People are playing volleyball. It's lunch time.

Dirk is looking at the seagulls eyeballing his bag of chips like, "Man, these guys are so dumb, watch this." And he calls a seagull over because he knows how to call them in a way they immediately trust him, and just... kills it quickly, and goes, "Alright, that was easy, let's start the barbecue, guys."

But there's a pall that's fallen over everyone. The beach ball blows past like a tumbleweed. Everyone's* mouth is agape in pure horror.

Dirk looks at the seagull in his hands. And back at the group. And he's like, "This is another one of those things I needed to deprogram, isn't it."

Everyone is whispering like, "What the fuck..." But to make things worse, Jade declares that there needs to be a funeral for the seagull, because literally no one else there is okay with eating it (and no one told Dirk beforehand, but someone already brought store-bought and pre-seasoned chicken for the barbecue, which doesn't make sense to him because it's not even fresh, aren't you supposed to have like a 'catch of the day' type of thing? Someone has to tell him that that only applies to fish, however arbitrary that seems). And Dirk has to stand there, living the most embarrassing moment of his life, keeping his cool, while perfectly good seagull meat is being lowered into the ground. People build a fucking sand castle memorial.

Jade like, gives him a hug like, "It's okay, Dirk, you didn't mean to do it." And Dirk has to bite back a 'Yeah, I kinda did mean it. This is stupid, and if anything, even worse to waste its life for nothing.' But he has enough self-awareness to know when to at least keep his mouth shut to prevent further damage.

He never could get over how weird chicken actually tastes, it's like fluffy and weird and doesn't even fit the theme of a beach party.

*everyone, except Jake and Nepeta/Davepeta, is completely scandalized at the image of Dirk just snapping a seagull's neck like it's nothing. They still wouldn't eat it, but they at least don't think he's a murderer for doing it.

its dreams birthday, which is awesome, but that also means that my blog birthday is coming up, which is just way cooler, sorry dream (/j)

anyway!! this is the 3rd and unfortunately final installment of the birthday raspberries fic trilogy!! this one is a prequel to the other 2, so in chronological order is goes dream -> george -> sapnap :))

it's always so so so fun writing these fics, they're adorable, the dteam is adorable, birthday tickles are adorable, I love them. they're some of my favorite pics I've posted on here i think

little disclaimer before we start: this is a prequel, but it is still referenced to be dream 23rd birthday. does it make sense? no. but we can live with it

There was a certain tradition that Sapnap wanted to bring back. It was something that his family had instilled in him in his very early childhood but stopped as he got older, something that he remembered randomly one day in high school and renewed with his friends through those years, leading up to when they all went to college.

Unfortunately for Sapnap, a majority of his friend group split apart to move away for school or with their families, and most of his other friends were online, so this tradition that solely required being physically with a person was lost to him again.

Fortunately for Sapnap, he now lived in the same house as his best friend, frequently visited his other friends, and another one was coming to live with them soon. This was the perfect time to bring this tradition back again, he decided. Third time's the charm, right?

When Dream found out what the tradition was, he didn't exactly feel the same way.

It was nearing midnight, and the end of Dream's birthday, and Dream's family had already left a few hours ago after they came over for dinner and cake. Sapnap had offered to help make dinner, since Dream's family were bringing the cake, and between himself being helpful and Dream's mom being the cooking master, everything had turned out pretty good, and they had plenty of leftovers to last them the rest of the week.

Dream and Sapnap were laying on the couch in their living room, the newer one they had just bought a month or so before to better fit their living space. Dream sat partially slumped over, his arm draped along the back of the couch as he rested his head on it, legs crossed at the ankles as they laid out in front of him off the chaise of the couch. Sapnap laid perpendicular to him, lounging across the length of the couch with his head on Dream's thigh. They decided to watch a few episodes of an anime they were in the middle of before calling it a night, both of them still buzzing with too much happy energy to go to sleep yet. Finally, about halfway through the last episode of the season, Dream let out a yawn, covering his mouth and scrunching his nose up as he did.

"Tired?" Sapnap asked, tilting his head up at his friend. Dream nodded through the end of his yawn.

"Yeah, finally," Dream chuckled, rubbing his eye with his knuckle and sighing out the breath he'd spoken through. "I'll probably head up after this episode finishes."

"Mm…" Sapnap hummed in acknowledgment, looking back at the TV screen.

About 15 minutes later, the season credits were on screen, and Sapnap reached for the remote to exit out of the show. They spoke for a couple minutes about the ending, speaking in sleep-deprived tones as they giggled quietly. Sapnap spoke up again before they departed.

"Can I tell you a story I remembered earlier before we go to bed really quick?"

"Of course, I'm all ears," Dream replied, pushing his hood that had been covering his head off and running a hand through his hair.

"Okay, so like, I remembered this thing during dinner because it has to do with birthdays but I didn't get a chance to tell you bc it wasn't important," Sapnap looked up at Dream as he spoke, somehow still sounding energetic even with how tired Dream knew they both were. "So, when I was a little kid, like really little, my mom had this… I guess it was kind of a tradition? Where every year, on my birthday, she would come into my room in the morning and bring me breakfast in bed, and she'd, like…" Sapnap cut himself off with a small chuckle, breaking off into his own giggles as his face became a little pink and he looked away from Dream for a second before looking back. Dream had a confused look on his face, tilting his head like a puppy as he waited for Sapnap to keep going. "Okay, don't laugh, but she would, like, wake me up by tickling me and then she'd give me a bunch of raspberries, however many years old I was that day," Sapnap admitted through his giggles, and Dream smiled at his confession, giggling a bit to himself at the idea of a kid-Sapnap getting lost in laughter from a few little raspberries. "And, dude, when I was a kid, I fucking loved that shit, I thought it was the most fun thing in the world and then I'd eat my little bowl of cereal and bacon and toast that she brought me and she'd sit with me and I'd break her off pieces of the toast to eat and I thought I was the best kid in the world, it was fucking awesome."

"That's adorable," Dream responded, and Sapnap continued again.

"So then, when I got older, she kind of stopped, because once you get older and into, like, middle school or past age 10 that stuff tends to stop, which is fine, but I forgot about it for a while until one day in high school it was my friends birthday and I just randomly remembered it, so I was like 'fuck it', y'know? I wanted to bring it back, so when we stayed at his house that night and I made sure I was the first one there so I could tell everyone about it– and I made sure everyone was comfortable, I didn't go overboard or anything, but we were all pretty physically affectionate people so no one really minded that much, and also we all loved embarrassing each other so it just worked."

"Mhm."

"And since everyone kinda left for college after junior or senior year I only got to do it a few times, like I did it to that kid on his 17th birthday, another kid on his 18th, and this one girl in our group on her 18th, and it was always so fun and hilarious."

"That does sound pretty funny," Dream agreed, and Sapnap smiled up at him, knowing his plan was coming into action faster than he had imagined.

"It was… but anyway, that was a really long story, but it does have a point, okay?" Dream nodded. "So the point is… I think I wanna bring the tradition back." Sapnap explained almost sheepishly, looking up at Dream for reassurance.

"Sapnap, are you asking me to give you birthday raspberries when it gets to your birthday?" Dream asked with a wide smile, originally wanting to seem smug and embarrass Sapnap, but seeing the smile on his face made his tone come out as genuine and soft as it could be.

"No! Well– well, yes, but, that's not what I meant right now," Sapnap explained further, waiting for the lightbulb to flick on in Dream's mind.

It didn't. Instead, Dream looked at him as if he'd spoken a completely different language.

"I don't… I don't get what you're saying, then," Dream said, toying with the end of his hoodie string as he curled the end around his finger and pulled it to be even with the opposite string.

"Dream. I want you to let me do it to you."

Dream's eyes widened just slightly, glancing at Sapnap and then looking away, switching between the two as he let out a shocked chuckle.

"Oh…" Dream said, unhelpful, as he tried to think of anything to say in response. He fidgeted with his hoodie string again. "Um…"

"C'mon, please?" Sapnap asked, leaning up slightly on one elbow and reaching his free hand up to lace his fingers with Dream's hand. Dream let his hand be held, smiling despite himself. "I'll be nice! And– and if you let me do it now, you can help me do it to everyone else in the future too! Like– George definitely, and Karl and Quackity if we're around them on theirs. Just let me do it, come on, just, come on."

"But you said it's the same number as whatever age you're turning? That's a lot, Sapnap, you haven't had it done to you since you were 10 or some shit, there's a big difference between 10 and 23." Dream explained nervously.

"I know, but you did say earlier that it sounded fun!" Sapnap elaborated as he fully sat up, pointing a finger at Dream accusingly. Suddenly, he got a devious idea, smirking as he continued. "But I can be gentle, I get it, you're fragile."

"I'm not fragile!"

"It's okay, Dream, I understand, you're worried you won't be able to handle it."

"That is not what I said!"

"No, it's fine, you're just too ticklish for this, it's okay."

"N-no!"

"Maybe when we get George here he'll say yes and then it'll prove he's stronger than you."

"Fine!" Dream finally caved, pulling his hand away from Sapnap in favor of pulling his sleeves over his hands and curling in on himself. He sat cross-legged now, his hands folded in his lap and elbows brought in close to his body. "Fine, I'll– I'll let you do it, if you shut up about me being too 'ticklish' and 'fragile' to handle it, I could literally beat you up."

Sapnap smiled proudly, holding out his hand for a handshake.

"Deal," he said, waiting for Dream to grab his hand.

"Dea–" Dream tried to respond, but was cut off by a loud yell as Sapnap held his hand tight and yanked him forward. He was too caught off guard to catch himself, so he landed on his side, his shoulder colliding with the soft couch cushions and his knee colliding with Sapnap's arm. Before he could even process what happened, Sapnap was sitting on top of him, straddling his hips and reaching behind him to press his knees so they were flat as well. Dream tried to protest when he felt his hoodie being pushed up just slightly, the sliver of skin by his hip above the waistband of his sweatpants showing now. "NO! No, no, Sapn–AP!" Dream yelped, gasping and slamming his hands over his mouth when there was a sudden, unbearable vibrating sensation on his hip that felt like it was coming from inside his skin.

Sapnap had blown the first raspberry. And if that was just the first, Dream had no fucking clue how he was going to be able to handle the remaining 22.

He caught his breath quickly, body tense and stiff as Sapnap sat up and laughed at him.

"Shut the hell up," Dream said when he heard him laughing.

"I didn't even say anything!" Dream huffed out a breath and rolled his eyes, maneuvering his body so he was more comfortable. Sapnap let him move around, and he ended up laying fully back with his knees bent and his legs propped up against the back of the couch, his ankles against the arm. Sapnap moved over as well, sitting on the corner bumper of the couch where Dream was before in order to have full access to Dream's body.

"That wasn't nice," Dream muttered, crossing his arms in front of his chest in an attempt to seem intimidating, but his wide smile and the fact that he was still holding onto the ends of his sleeves gave him away.

"Which part, the throwing you around like a ragdoll or the part where I completely wrecked your shit?"

"Both!"

"Mhm, still think you could beat me up?"

"Yes! I definitely could!" Sapnap jumped at the opportunity, pushing Dream's hoodie up again and blowing another raspberry in the same place as before. "NO!" Dream yelled, catching him in the act this time and moving to push at his head. He still tried to hold in his laughter, biting his lip this time, until Sapnap blew a third raspberry, and then his attempts were lost. "Sapnahahahap!" Dream giggled out, grabbing at Sapnap's shoulder and shaking his head. Another raspberry was blown on his side, followed by a fifth against the bottom of his ribs. Dream took in a sharp breath as his laughter began anew, fingers gripping the fabric of Sapnap's hoodie as he pulled him away slightly. "GOHOHOD jeheheheez let– lehehet me breheathe!"

Sapnap giggled slightly as he pulled away, rubbing his palm soothingly over Dream's bunched up hoodie.

"Sorry. Guess I'm a little eager," Sapnap apologized bashfully. "You're just so cute, I can't help it."

"Shut up," Dream groaned, smiling wide at Sapnap's genuine words. "You're annoying."

"Yeah," Sapnap agreed, tone sweet, before he suddenly leaned forward and blew a raspberry right on Dream's tummy. Dream let out a strained, wheezy laugh, caught off guard once again by the sudden feeling, curling up slightly and instinctively cradling the back of Sapnap's head in his hands. Three more were blown in quick succession in a line just underneath his belly button, and he flopped back onto the couch just to arch his back away from the feeling.

"OHOH GOHOHOD, Sapnahahahap!" Sapnap pulled back to laugh along with Dream again, adjusting the way he was sitting to be a little closer to him. He pushed Dream's hoodie a bit further up, then proceeded to blow four raspberries in a diamond shape– one at his sternum, one at the front of his left side's ribs, one in the center of his tummy, and one on the right, before finishing that section with one right in the middle of the diamond. "Sahahap, plehehehease!"

"Fine! Fine, you're such a baby, you literally have, like, only 9 left," Sapnap teased, letting Dream catch his breath again. Dream's giggles kept up as he took a few deep breaths, reaching up to cover his face with his hands, before reaching further back to pull his hood up and over his head, pulling it as far as it would go to help him hide his bright red face.

"9 ihis still a lot, Sapnahap!" Dream mumbled.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I can help, let's make it 8 instead," Sapnap continued his teasing, smiling as he dropped his head down to meet Dream's torso again, lips landing to the left of his belly button and making him arch his back. As he squirmed, turning as far onto his side as he could and leaving his back exposed, Sapnap decided to seize the opportunity and blow a raspberry on the back of his ribs.

The sensation hit Dream like a freight train.

"FUCK!" Dream yelled, covering his mouth with his hand and using his other arm to brace himself against the couch. His fist collided with the cushion twice before he simply resorted to gripping the fabric tightly between his fingers. His reaction was enough to make Sapnap stop on his tracks, grinning like a little kid on Christmas.

"Okay. I don't know what I just did, but I know for a fact that the rest of these raspberries need to do the exact same thing," Sapnap said, in slight disbelief at how much of a reaction that spot got out of Dream.

"NO, you don't!" Dream shook his head, moving to lay down on his back again, but Sapnap's hand pushing against his side stopped him. "No, stop! Stop, don't, just get it over with normally!"

"Absolutely not, I'm gonna do it my way," Sapnap explained as he pushed Dream harder, kneeling up on his knees before straddling the back of Dream's thighs when he pushed him fully over.

"Sapnap, noho, no, that's not fahair–" Dream tried to push himself back, but with the way his torso was twisted and the way Sapnap was sitting on his legs, it was almost impossible to do anything but kick his legs against the arm of the couch and turn fully onto his stomach.

"Alright enough stalling," Sapnap commented before pushing Dream's hoodie up his back, blowing another raspberry on the back of Dream's ribs. Dream arched his back again, not getting very far this time with the way his front was pressed into the couch below him.

"Nahahaha, ohohoh my gohohod, that's so bahahahad," Dream complained, squealing and covering his mouth in embarrassment when Sapnap placed three raspberries in a line up his spine, the first one right between the dips of the dimples in his lower back and the final one netween his shoulder blades. "Sahahapnahap, plehehehease,"

"It's alright, there's just three left, you're so close. You honestly lasted way longer than I expected."

"Whahahat– ahaha– whahat is that supposed to mehean?" Dream asked, turning his head around to look at Sapnap behind him.

"Nothing! I just expected you to tap out, y'know?"

"I dihidn't– AH!" Sapnap cut him off by leaning forward and blowing a raspberry against the side of his neck.

"Sorry, what was that?"

"Yohohou suhuck…" Dream mumbled, burying his face in his arm as he waited for the final two raspberries to hit him. "I wahas– I was gonna sahay Ihihi don't need toho tap out."

"Oh. Well, that's good, because I'm gonna make these last two unbearable now," Sapnap teased again, earning a loud, muffled groan from Dream. Sapnap took a deep breath, taking in as much air as he possibly could, smiling as he used all of his breath to blow one long, continued raspberry on Dream's side.

"NAHAhaha–!" Dream laughed freely, strength leaving his body as Sapnap repeated the action, blowing his longest raspberry yet as his big finale. He giggled against Dream's skin as he pulled away, tugging Dream's hoodie down and flopping down to lay flat on top of his limp form.

"Allllll done, birthday boy!" Sapnap said, still giggling along with Dream as he came down from his ticklish high.

"That was horrible. My spine is tingling," Dream explained once his laughter calmed down. "I'm exhausted."

"You're welcome," Sapnap said with a giggle, making Dream smile and shake his head against his arm.

Sapnap pushed himself up, standing and reaching a hand out to help Dream stand as well. It took him a moment to adjust himself, twisting his hoodie's sleeves and torso from where they were slightly turned from his squirming, and standing up straight to stretch.

"And," Sapnap began. "Just think. Now you can help me do this to other people too. Especially George."

Dream couldn't help but smile, the idea of George falling victim to the same treatment he was just subjected to sitting at the forefront of his mind.

"I would be honored."

And with that, the two parted to their individual bedrooms, and Dream went to sleep that night thinking about what it might be like if he was one to get Sapnap back on his upcoming birthday…

It may have been the best night of sleep he'd ever had.

Anyways this is Felix and he's a well known model for a fashion magazine company in the small town he lives in, he is surprisingly somewhat well known out of town too! Not many places but the stores and small shops that sell these exclusive mags tend to get him outside admiration as well as by his own family and friends.

Not all is hunky-dory however, as he grew up with a rough childhood, but that still didn't stop him trying his best at whatever he can and looking good while doing it

After ages and a few years of struggles, abuse from foster care, legal troubles fighting for custody, his grandmother helped his mother get him out of the foster care system as they eventually live steady and peaceful lives

He currently lives with his mother and grandmother (mother of his father) and does all he can to help support them financially and so forth; The most happiest they've ever been

Besides modelling; He can dance, work well with make-up, is very creative with fashion ideas and so on; He also helped with designing some of the most popular outfits

Along with model work, he also works as a part time teacher assistant for the local school

He goes to therapy for his trauma so he does have medication to help, sometimes his episodes are BAD if he doesn't take it for whatever reasons; I.E forgetting, laziness, procrastination, distractions and so on. However his grandmother is an angel when it comes to helping with his schedule

People need to stop relying on rigid rules they taught themselves as Facts Of Life rather than Facts Of An Old Inflexible Studio that old SPN was under.

For example, the clowns and circus shit that people attached to being about the finale, because of that 40-minute-in comment from *SPEIGHT* about shooting things for the *finale*, not midseason.

So unless he's directing 12/13 too, even parts of 7's filming-- WHICH I REMIND LASTED TWICE AS LONG AS IT SHOULD HAVE--could end up seeded into like 8-10.

I repeat: they're doing this right now for the finale, the same as they did it for midseason. Things you hear are episode 12 or 13 are gonna wipe you out if you don't know how to flex and read.

Remember the director listing mixup, for example, think about Showalter's position in reshoots; think about how high key this episode was (and most of all watch what I drop tomorrow. All of it. At once. Like a movie. An hour and a half of the key.). Think about us coming back from hiatus to a 2 hour special bundling the midseason episodes.

Stop being rigid ass thinkers. Nobody convinced you that this shit is shooting perfectly straight through in an orderly episodic feature but you. Dig around inside your skull all you want for evidence of it, and it is not to be found.

You know who else got active during "7" filming, which we should really call "midseason filming"? Jared. When Speight popped in, he followed Sam. Meanwhile planes were flying around landing in private hangars I've got dropped for you. Everybody followed everybody during this period suddenly, or those that weren't followed early on.

What this means is anything that didn't go into episode 7 is *likely* to go to 8 but can be posted out as far as like, 9. 8 is more likely, 9 is possible.

But this is the last episode to air until January. Right now they're filming like 12.5 the same as 7.5. That means from this very moment until then, post has nothing but time on its hands to manage footage. And I need you to keep in mind I'm in the midst of uploading my own 334 master key to the winchesters codex by tomorrow afternoon. Again, watch it.

So eps 8-12 are going to be sitting plonked in post with eps 8-12.5 filmed, and the others able to giggle at any point and pack in filming the rest on the side, if they be not doing that already now or before holiday.

Result: starting 12/7/2022, until Jan 24 2023, the show takes holiday. About one week will be there for post. They also tend to resume office operations a few weeks earlier than studio, meaning 2-3 weeks ahead for them to putz with whatever they want.

Due to normal curve, they already had 8 in post, that much I know. I saw a pinch of 7's post a few weeks back. So this 2-3 weeks is them putzing what to do with 8-12.5's footage in episode 8, then forward into 9 etc. By then, episode 13 will be thoroughly wrapped but in a locked down and secretive way.

Can't emphasize enough how many times I said, don't hold ur breath for ep 7, 8's just as likely, much less anywhere else they jockey it.

And most of all just. Please by god if you never watch another video of mine watch the one I drop tomorrow. I currently have it down to about 15 more minutes of footage I need to figur out how/where/if to trim in on the mastertrack, then from there it's all exports, test runs to make sure I didn't screw up, most exports, uploads, and waiting 18 years for youtube to process the HD tomorrow, hence saying Weds night. Frankly I should be done with all but glitch tweaks in a bit. About 1-2 more hours editing, then I slep while it exports, lather rinse repeat lmfao.

i just have zero faith in this show now eddie is ready to date when kristen has done her hardest to separate buck and eddie when they're not at work. it's sickening and i hope she realizes audiences will not accept a love interest for eddie, just another forced bullshit hetero crap when the real thing is staring you right in the damn face.

Hey, Anon! Sorry, I started this response to your ask but then ended up putting out a general post instead. So I apologize if I sound like a broken record here at any point in time.

I had no idea that the show had mentioned that Eddie was going to be dating in 6B when I watched the episode last night but it doesn't change my mind on where they're going with Buddie. As a matter of fact, I'm more encouraged than ever that we're still on the path to the endgame of them coming together.

To me, Eddie dating again is no big deal and here's why. It's my humble opinion that in setting up a romantic relationship in a story (one that is healthy and wholesome and has the earmarks of being an epic love that is also a slow burn) there has to be transition periods in between serious relationships. Just like IRL. And with the emotional journey they took Eddie on last season, and now Buck this season, it all makes sense. Eddie "dipping his toe into the dating pool" is simply just that. It actually, for me, sounds reminiscent of Buck doing the same thing two seasons ago and we all saw how that went. (Veronica fiasco, anyone?)

I honestly believe we'll see Eddie giving the dating thing a go and it's not going to work out in the end. Sure, he might date some ladies he has chemistry with but I don't see a wife coming out of this. They have had 3 seasons already to have a love interest for Eddie and we saw them burn through two. He still loved Shannon but they ended up killing her off. But they made sure to have Shannon telling Eddie that it was a no go beforehand. Now if Shannon was meant to be Eddie's one true love, why have the divorce convo before her death? Wouldn't it make it more tragic then? Then we have Ana, which was "jinxed" from the get go. Ana was perfect for Christopher (in Eddie's mind) but in the end, he couldn't do it. Because that didn't align with his heart.

So saying that, as a writer, it completely makes sense to me that now that Eddie is ready for the future and is now in alignment with his own heart, that he would start dating. Ana Flores was literally meant to open him back up (with that last name, oh yeah) and her character as a story device did that. Then Eddie had to work on his other relationships (with his dad) and figure out who he is and what he wants in life. We see this journey play out all of season 5 (right after the breakup with Ana, which started him on this journey) and then we see it come completely to fruition in this season's "Cursed" episode. While his relationship with Ana was a jinx, yes, Eddie also no longer feels "cursed" himself. That's why Felisa was so important to that episode when it came to Eddie. So now that he's there (while a certain someone isn't yet), it makes absolute sense for him to take the next step and to figure out what he's looking for romantically in a would-be partner. And the only way he can do that is by getting back out there again. Which, to me, will be very entertaining to watch considering all of the aversion we see Eddie having towards women as of late.

But it doesn't mean that he's going to fall head over heels right away with someone or that he's going to be married by the season finale. It just means that he's putting himself out there again. And please trust me when I say this will only help the Buddie path, not hinder it.

As far as KR goes, yeah, I've read what she's said about how she sees Buddie but I also take comfort in the knowledge of how it all really works behind the scenes. The showrunners do have power, absolutely, but only so much when it comes to the network and/or studios. If the network greenlights Buddie there is nothing KR or any other showrunner can do to prevent it. They can try to pitch something different but ultimately it's up to the people airing the show (and/or owning it). Now saying that, I will say that while we are getting everything with Buddie (they make it more and more obvious each season), it's unfortunately also become a point of profit let's say. It guarantees viewers will tune in each week. That's not saying people don't watch for the other characters and/or relationships and the events/story but Buddie is a big draw as are Oliver and Ryan separately. We know that Tim wasn't in a hurry to define Buddie and he made that clear. So we got the slow burn route. Which is perfect for the network because while this is a show people watch, it keeps bringing in views. I know a lot of people were upset with Cocoa Brown last year I think it was when she did an IG live (and I don't blame them with some of the things she said), but this is what she was talking about when she said she didn't think the network was going to go there, meaning they had two hot guys and were going to milk it for all it was worth. I don't think she was right on the "not going there" part but I do think she was right about the network milking the Buddie draw for as long as they could.

All of that being said about the network and the financials, I look to the story and it tells me one thing: Buddie is a certainty. They're working towards it and they're hitting every checkpoint on the way. Why, you may ask? Simple, because they have had every opportunity since last season (when KR took over from Tim) to separate the stories of these two characters and they haven't taken it. If anything, they've doubled down on it. The emotional separation I think is what's bugging everyone and I get it. We watched a beautiful emotional foundation be built for three seasons and we saw it continue to play out somewhat last season. Now, suddenly, it's gone poof. But has it really?

In last night's episode, we saw Buck call Chim who already had Hen on the line. Then we saw him make sure to call Eddie before revealing his news that he couldn't wait to tell them. If you watch Eddie's reaction (which wbk about Ryan's use of particular microexpressions), it's quite interesting:

"Officially responsible for the creation of new life"

Now we knew that the 118 already knows about the donation but in this moment, I think they're all like "what?" Then we see it start to dawn on all of them. THEN the camera cuts to Buck alone when he says "I'm going to be a father".

And then we see in succession:

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. *Kameron and Connor are having a baby?"

"Congratulations! Oh, wait, do we congratulate you?"

"I don't know. Kind of feels weird to congratulate him."

And then we get Buck's face:

Chim: "It feels weirder not to. Eddie's right. Etiquette rules are kind of hazy."

Buck: "Uh, maybe we should see what Bobby thinks."

Hen tries to call Bobby but he declines the call because we see he's dealing with the sinister rehab and we go into that scene before back to the call. Where Eddie loses his game and then jumps off the call with "I'm going to try to take a nap. Chris is going to be up in an hour." (and we're shown Buck reacting to this first)

He never congratulates Buck, never says a nice word period about the whole situation. Instead in a mocking tone he doubts Chim's congrats. We and Eddie as well as the 118 know how important this was for Buck and why it matters to him so much (hence the Buckley parents showing up in 5B most likely). Which is why we have Hen happy for him even though she's had reservations about it (due to her thinking Buck won't be able to let go easily and his choosing to say "I'm going to be a father" confirms it; he said it to make it easier but we also saw he already bought a onesie from the LAFD [talk about symbolism] and has it on his bedside table; anyone remember Josh's line of "spoiled milk is not poisonous but maybe clean the cups from your bedside table every once in a while"?) and Chim congratulating him before defaulting to his characteristic comedic relief mode. Eddie here is OOC a bit in his relation to Buck (which is the emotional separation KR/the writers keep doing that I mentioned above) but not completely out of character for Eddie himself or his usual teasing of Buck (if that makes sense). He knows how important this is to Buck and while we the audience do as well, we don't know that Eddie knows how important it is to Buck because we haven't been shown it. And I think it's very purposeful and that's because they gave us everything in the scene that we need to see (minus the GA unfortunately which is the mistake that I think KR/the writers are making and/or taking for granted) to show how much this affects Eddie.

We not only have Ryan's microexpressions and the edits chosen by the editors to make it to air, but we also have props being heavily used (like in the ending scene) and the video game is a big one. Each time we've seen a video game scene surface in the show (3x09, 4x03, 5x13), it's something that affects Eddie. We've seen three different video games shown in the show: 2 battle ones and 1 first person shooter one. And the video game Eddie is playing in this episode?

The same one that Buck and Christopher were playing in 4x03 (above) where Buck is playing the CID character against Christopher's Dog. And (6x09 below) here Eddie is playing the CID character losing to the computer's Dog (though Christopher was mentioned earlier).

They literally chose to use the same game (and same exact footage) they created in both episodes. That's telling us all we need to know about the Buckley Diaz family and even more specifically, Buddie. Especially when it's paired with this scene where Buck is "going to be a father".

Eddie is looking for a partner, that's being made abundantly clear in this scene. Had they chosen a different game to show or they had Eddie reading a book or something, then the message would be different. But they made their choice. And in this very important scene (and leading to another important one in the end of the episode) here we have video games that always link back to Eddie and now he's playing alone while Christopher sleeps. We also have Eddie sitting on the floor in front of the couch but ends up falling asleep on the couch itself (6x01 couch scene) and as we know, a couch signifies a partner in this season. This will be one of Eddie's main drives this season, especially since they put that conversation in the season premiere (which usually sets everything up for the season for all aspects of the story in very broad strokes). And even though Buck has this conversation with Eddie, looking for another girlfriend is not one of Buck's main drives this season. Instead, the idea of a family is. So for them to have Eddie and Buck having this conversation, it not only intertwines their stories further in overt and subtle ways, it also means there's another link here besides the obvious parallels between the two. (which is why we get scenes of Eddie and Buck sleeping back to back before moving into the already together couples on the show minus Bathena)

So no, I don't think the show is looking to separate Buddie in the way they think they are. I think the writers (and KR by extension) is having Buck go on his own emotional journey this season which will get him that much closer to what he wants (and doesn't realize he already has; the Maddie/Buck balcony convo about love last season, anyone?), just like they did with Eddie in season 5. And I think the writers absolutely know that the fans won't accept another het love interest for either guy; how could they not after the uproar about Ana and Taylor? But I think they're going to go the route they're planning on which takes Buddie (and the fans) the long scenic route, so when it happens it will be wholesome, healthy, functional, and absolutely right for both characters. And as a writer myself, I can appreciate that. I'd rather have a well written/told love story than just rushing into it. To me, if Buddie were to get together right now, it would feel completely off and not happening organically, like they just gave into the pressure from fans and decided to do fanservice. And I hate that. If it doesn't make sense to the story being told, I don't want it. Hence me being anti the whole Jonerys romantic love "for the ages" from GoT, Bella/Edward from Twilight, Romione from HP, the Dean-and-Cas didn't love each other diatribe, and even the whole Beau/Jenny push from Big Sky (talk about fanservice).

Buddie has the makings of being a truly epically told love story that we are getting to see being built from the ground up. I know Eddie dating in 6B might not be everyone's cup of tea but I really do think it will help to lead us to the Buddie endgame overall.

"it's sickening and i hope she realizes audiences will not accept a love interest for eddie, just another forced bullshit hetero crap when the real thing is staring you right in the damn face." - oh trust me, I know that feeling all too well (see the beginning of my list up above & trust me, I have a LIST). how some writers choose to go in the direction they do still astounds me. for example, in that show Big Sky I mentioned, the character (and the actor) clearly has way more chemistry with Cassie (and the actress) than he does with Jenny and it makes sense for their stories, but because Beau/Jenny is what fans want (and the show's trying to stay on the air), we're getting the big push. I have been so disappointed time and time again (and don't even get me started on the whole Destiel convo) not just as a shipper and fan but also as an audience member and dare I say as a fellow writer. (tbf, I tend to blame all of that on money (the networks) and the GA viewership than I do the writers/showrunners - in laymen's terms, GA always sucks but they've got the numbers unfortunately)

But saying all of that, I really don't think that's what's happening here. I think they've committed to getting both Eddie and Buck to where they're both emotionally ready for it to happen and that's just more of what we're seeing here, no matter what comes of the "dating" in 6B. So keep the faith, Anon. I promise, I think it will be worth it! =)

i've currently got to season 11, and i've heard opinions about it after watching the first episode. is it okay if i ask about this here? or maybe there's already a good post talking about this or another blog?

my question is: thoughts on the porch/monogamy scene? to me, it seems like they would stay monogamous later on but i feel like (based off past seasons) they would want to be monogamous?

now - i was actually pretty down for the idea that the season would be about them working through what marriage means to them. the execution, however, was….. flawed, to put it diplomatically. IT HAD GOOD BONES, THOUGH. SORT OF. THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME.  anyways. 

idk if this is the consensus. the consensus, actually, is that s11 is fake asdkfh BUT here’s what i think:

I DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY WANTED FROM ME. 

did mickey honestly misspell monogamy? 

did he write non-monogamy just bc he thought ian would?

did he write non-monogamy bc he wanted to fuck other people?

did he not write anything?

i know what i would think… but WHAT DID THE WRITERS WANT ME TO THINK? i don’t know and that’s a failing on their part! 

now……. i think that scene was a pretty big disservice to mickey. it makes him look like a fucking idiot, which we know he’s not! ian laid it out there, and it makes sense to me. they are working this out.

monogamy was not always so important to them. different characters place varying degrees of value in the idea throughout the series - including ian and mickey.

in some moments, it really matters to ian. in others, it means more to mickey. plus, monogamy doesn’t always mean the same thing to them! their own definitions of it change! by now, they are older, more secure, and committed. and here in this part in their relationship, i would imagine that they’d largely be on the same page. 

what that page is……. is not the same to everyone in the fandom. and that’s okay! 

many think that ian and mickey have spent enough time distracting themselves with other people. that they would not be able to share each other, or be willing to be with other people in any circumstance. that at this point, they would not indulge in this kind of thing. i get that, and that’s okay! 

others think that as long as communication is open, ian and mickey might be able to experiment within their own boundaries. that, especially as they grow in this phase of their relationship, they might, on occasion, explore something together. i get that, and that’s okay! 

or maybe they’re all out swingers askdjfh KIDDING GOD NO ONE COME FOR ME

personally, i can be swayed either way. much like with last night’s talk about Going Out, i think there is room for nuance here. i also think that anyone is welcome to their own interpretation. what’s important to me is that they TALK. that they EXPRESS their NEEDS and tell each other what they WANT. and come to A MUTAL UNDERSTANDING! they have……. so much sexual trauma between them. more than anything, i want to see them safely decide what’s best for them! 

isn’t that what we all want in the long run? 🥰

favorite time of year: Halloween actually! It's fun to see the decoration and stuff, watch tons of horror movies, dress up, etc. I also love summer nights (when not trying to sleep), and when it's very sunny but there's also wind so the sky is beautiful but the wind helps tame the heat.

comfort food: fajitas, fried chicken, risotto, curry, soup... if I love it, it's comforting!

favorite dessert: concorde chocolate cake, île flottante, chocolate mousse

things you collect: at one point I was collecting the Umineko manga collection because I was in my Umineko era, but there were 21 omnibusses at 25-30 euros the omnibus if you were lucky. eventually decided it was much more handy (and cheaper) to have them digitally instead.

If you're curious, my physical collection comprises of the first two Episodes, Legend of the Golden Witch and Turn of the Golden Witch. Then digitally (through Kobo), I've got the third Episode (Banquet, vol. 5&6), Vol. 10 (first vol. of Episode 5, End), the sixth Episode (Dawn, vol. 13-15) and the eight and final Episode (Twilight, vol. 19-21). My reasoning was that I wanted to go chronological, but I was already not fond of Banquet (though with distance I can appreciate its chaotic approach), then I think Alliance mostly sucks. End is great but I never re-read it, Dawn is great too, Requiem (Episode 7) was perfect when I read it in VN but I never felt the need to read the manga, and Twilight is a good Episode and most importantly, the manga version actually adds stuff for the better!

So I've got 13/21 volumes.

I also collected a few Spider-Man comic books. I'm not a big collector in general but I *would* have an entire room dedicated to Virtue's Last Reward if I could and wanted to.

dream place to visit: Nothing! I'm pretty content with where I went. I think I realized that no place will ever be as charming as you could dream of. I'm very happy with where I am right now, where I was last year, and I don't feel the place to go anywhere specific.

Pre-Wayward Sisters Rewatch Notes

1x09: HAVE SOME PATIENCE WHILE WE GO TO MISSOURI

I've been through here so recently but it still cracks me up in the intro when it recaps that Mary "is never coming back", and then the ground it goes on to cover with her which is literally just her season 12 arc she returns to deal with properly. It's pretty much neither here nor there, and while technically I'm rewatching this for Missouri, I have to admit I'm like 90% coming back here because of the phone call parallel to 13x01's prayer because I like tormenting myself and that really sealed the deal on if I would come back to rewatch, since I covered seasons 1-4 in the hiatus.

It's interesting to me that the recap covers so much of the already established Winchester Family History circa 1x09 because it's going over the mythos of the family that led us to this point where we go to the home to explore all this and dig down into the emotional drama behind everything... To actually expose some of the things that we've been sitting on until this point. Our first sight of John since the Pilot, and Mary's last moments in her chronological story until 11x23.  And beginning to get into the mystery of the evil that was done to Sam, and Mary's part in it.

The reason I say all this is because obviously when we get to the season 13 episodes introducing us to our Wayward squad, the recaps of the episodes are going to have to cover this same ground - to tell us who everyone is, to bring them into the fold and to tie their stories together. Hopefully by the proper Wayward Sisters episode when we've had all the new girls' stories, we'll get a recap with a very similar feel: just a straightforward "this is the family, do you want to find out more about them?" sort of explanation.

I also remember from the rewatch I did in the summer that the Home one stood out to me for being so focused only on the Winchester mythos and the surrounding ones were more about the monsters and fighting and "saving people hunting things" that the family focus felt far more important here even before the episode started.

It's weird, it makes me preemptively excited to see the family come together just because I know they'll have to do the montage, and like this one was in a low key way, it will high key be a special event, because it will be ABOUT the new family we care about.

I am momentarily distracted by how this episode opens on Sam's vision and then him obsessing over drawing the tree from outside the house over and over. I watched 1x17 last night with my mum and it reminds me of this season's great subtle mirroring and repetition of moments and ideas and motifs, when Dean is obsessing over his mystery symbol. That was the silly example of this to break the tension but to keep consistency through the season, subtly repeating ideas in a way that just keeps it all kind of the same aesthetic, of Sam and Dean doodling on motel paper... Anyway, reminds me of Dabb era's methods but they have 12 seasons of past canon to play with and in season 11 it was extremely blatant the way they revisited old ideas and told us they were shaking them up and doing them differently or just bringing them back for our consideration. I wonder if anyone ever collected up all the ways season 1 internally mirrors itself. It's really just a spiral of mirrors that unlike the character development spiralling closer and closer to a desired end, this spirals out and out that the more canon there is the more there is to reference and repeat, and so it grows exponentially in mirrored subject matter...

At this point Wayward Sisters is going to have a bit of a job navigating the story to tell its own stuff in a fresh way without falling back on the repeated ideas - I don't know if we should be looking for mirroring or if introducing the characters as part of Supernatural's main canon means they can be used by the narrative in this way but only when they get to their own show will they then build their own language. The new show means they can play around with new ways of telling things and the tropes will probably be very different all over the place. Like, for once I'm not expecting a new psychic character to massively mirror Sam, even though Home and how Missouri and Sam bond over his powers is obviously like the main reason to come back here to rewatch before we get an episode where she does it with her own granddaughter. I don't think there's anything evil behind Patience's powers especially if we're assuming they're inherited from Missouri and they're not going to introduce some weird ideas about where those powers came from - it's enough having them I think :P

On the other hand if Patience is being hunted by a hungry wraith that likes her powers then it IS a parallel to all the interest in Jack for HIS powers. We'll see how it shakes out but once they're in a show where they're the main characters (and I really hope Patience is the POV character - I think actually not long after I was talking about that somewhere I saw an interview suggesting she WOULD be, which is AWESOME) then the fact that Patience is/was a Sam and Jack mirror will be utterly by the by. Really I just hope they don't bend her to meet the perfect criteria for a mirror but develop her for herself and put Sam and Jack in her shadow.

Sam realises they need to go home and this is the motivation to reveal that he has been having psychic nightmares - the fact that someone is in trouble and needs saving and the only way to explain to Dean why he knows this is because he suspects he's psychic. For narrative parallels to whatever might happen in 13x03 purposes, I'm interested in how Patience's story compares to Sam's, as she is reconnecting with Missouri by the sounds of things, and has her own issues with being disconnected from her family probably - this episode is still filled with massive disconnects and both of their parents withholding information or just outright avoiding them, seemingly for their own protection. (Mary being rather more direct about protecting them in a heroic way than John, hiding in the shadows refusing to confront them with the mytharc knowledge about Sam). Patience is prooobably going to be out of the loop on what's happening to her, or out of the family loop, which means that this is going to be personal discovery for her too.

Oh hey and then Sam gets them through the door into the house by using a conditional amount of the truth (they're sam and dean winchester and they used to live here) just like in 13x01 Dean just used the truth to the sheriff and got her on-board and them out of jail with that frankness... Sometimes it pays.

OH GOD Dean having to relive the fire by telling it to Sam... and 13x01 starting with Dean re-imagining/dreaming/having a vision about it again :<

I swear I started this trying to tell myself I would not make this about Man Pain because this is the Wayward Sisters watch but I am an addict

Dean goes to make the call and there's a big blue shipping container thing beside him and it's so claustrophobic, like he's chosen the most confined secret space to make the call... It's in total contrast to the vast open space he prayed in - but he STILL shuffled into the shadow of the (blue) building in order to make the prayer and get that illusion of privacy and confinement. The wide shot as he goes in here shows him behind the car and weaving between gas station junk and between these two buildings/large structures. In 13x02 just the random car parked at the back stops Dean from being entirely alone and exposed. I'll take that as a commentary on his layers and how open he is being, although it's sort of awkward when both times, of course, he's going for a super private call that he's going to open himself up for completely, revealing deep down things that have never been exposed before.

People literally started loving Dean about this exact second of the show because he broke so wonderfully to cry and reveal he's not all his top layer stuff. I think someone on the superspecpod (2 of them?) said/agreed on this moment.

Of course we can assume Chuck is listening and not acting, not just because he's omnipotent and abnormally attached to Dean of all humans, but also because John literally did hear this voicemail and either already was in or came straight to Lawrence.

God the fact he makes the call in front of the men's room but then it's the buccaneer's room in 13x02... what a goofy episode... I hate it... Pfft

THIS IS SO HARD TO WATCH.

I rank Dean's pain proportionate to his experience, and this is definitely the worst he's ever been at this point, mostly because we never see him cry until then.

He certainly is dealing better than in 13x02 because he still has a job to do and it might be hard but at least he has some sort of focus and a reason for being there, and even if everything is all messed up (he has to be back here AND Sam has just revealed he's psychic) that's not completely and utterly unbearable in the same way losing Mary and Cas (and even Crowley) has made him shut down so hard in season 13. There's no forward momentum for him. Jack is not enough of a motivation >.>

Yeah, not that she gave John any.............................. or did she not tell him EVERYTHING she suspected/read about what had happened to Sam in that night? Exactly how far-ranging are her powers? Could she have seen what Azazel did by proximity to the attack around the time it happened and to John? She could see that dude's wife was having an affair, which is out of his knowledge range, so does that mean she knew about Mary's deal, which is loosely coded as infidelity to John with Azazel?

Gaaaah.

but oh NO - Missouri takes one look at Sam and Dean and specifically analyses Sam's woes as missing his dead loved one and Dean's as his missing parent...

TBH Missouri getting annoyed at Dean asking where their father is is probably specifically because she knows exactly where he is, aka hiding in the spare room upstairs doing whatever angsty things John does, and she's trying to shake Dean off of asking, and she is probably not that great at lying when she is in the middle of it all instead of just cheerfully telling people what they want to hear.

Maybe the whack you with a spoon thing was also to make Dean so uncomfortable with her he wouldn't keep bugging her for info about things she did not want to admit right then.

I do feel like she was here to challenge them, not to nurture them, and I think it's weirdly the same issue people are having with Mary in season 12 and Dean "parenting" Jack in season 13, where she is not actually meant to be a motherly character, and I have historically had no issues with her in the past, before fandom and everything needing to be tuned to being good to your fave or otherwise the Worst. She's interesting and introduced even just with that guy she lies to as being mercurial and emotionally untrustworthy. She lets them behind the veil as it were since they know she's really psychic but clearly using that power carefully and not being too accurate all the time for people when the truth hurts and her powers can be better used for reading people and working out what would be best to tell them... But for hunters it's a different story... but that doesn't change her default personality... Especially as the end of the episode reveals she has been withholding literally the object of this season's quest from them at this early stage. She literally plays them like her customers except with the personal plot info she can't tell them.

So when she goes through the door saying Dean's not the sharpest tool the shed, she is not a person in a position of emotional responsibility to them, we just see Sam and Dean as scared confused little ducklings (like Jack in season 13) and people being harsh with them, especially I think when we come back to them with years of seeing them grow up and grow harder, so they're all soft and fluffy and mostly unharmed at this point, it's so easy to be defensive of them... And I mean I AM because DEAN, but not so much I think this means Missouri is a horrible person or that she's cruel or Dean shouldn't give her the time of day in season 13 or whatever. I find her to be interesting and she's an obstacle they DON'T overcome because she is twice as fast as them with her psychic advantage so she can help them for the GREATER GOOD, but conceal their much more personal issue from them, making her a minor (friendly and great good-motivated) antagonistic as far as the stuff that matters on the character side of things goes.

In season 13 she has nothing to lose in hiding things from them or lying to them, I bet, especially as she appears to be the one asking them for help rather than them coming to her, so I assume she will be more open, and I also assume that with 13 years space in between, Dean is not going to hold a serious grudge for the way she treated him - because those words are just a few from a one-off meeting with her rather than a childhood of negging or something. Like with Mary she doesn't have responsibility over them as adults, or a moral obligation to them in the same way a recognised caregiver would.

If she can read inside their heads and treats Dean this way she is doing it for a reason and she's running circles around them to not reveal that John has been in contact with her or that even at this point perhaps she knows he's already in town.

OH NO the nursery scene... This is where it all happened. A dark energy in the room...

And now we know that Jack being born and sloping off to the nursery to hide in the corner was heralded by a wave of powerful GOOD energy, not the "toxic" energy of Lucifer and the same thing that Azazel corrupted this room with.

Also Missouri calling Dean an amateur for using an EMF meter might be more of the negging but this scene is Missouri being a serious professional at the ghost hunting thing just by  being herself... I think since she's coming back and it will be a less personally charged episode - pretty much has to be - then her natural competence at hunting will be an asset. She might not be able to handle wraiths as easily as ghosts but she certainly has a whole load of real spell ingredients and knowledge about things that really work for actual hunting. She's not a hapless bystander even if her day job is fortune telling...

Oh and then we have Sam out-psychic-ing Missouri. Probably because he's got demon blood but it is interesting what might happen with Patience - if she's more sensitive than Missouri as well, or if they have the same level of talent. It would change from being ominous about Sam - with Missouri as our default example of what the generic psychic of this world building can do as the season 1 intro of such a character, and how Sam is unnerving because he can do more - to a story about outgrowing the talent of your elders and forging your own way in the world with your own strength that only you can define since help can only go so far when you outshine them... In storytelling purposes I can't really imagine they won't make Patience as good as (but with a better innovative mindset) or better than Missouri (in raw power) just because "oh here's a slightly less psychic character" just doesn't really sparkle off the page as a hook. We'll see, but I can imagine it being kinda like the stuff that happens with Sam here, but not in an ominous way, just in a way that Patience is going to move on and join the Wayward Sisters.

Of course Missouri could just die and motivate her even if she has average/normal powers, because she won't be measuring herself against Missouri and it would be a motivation to be as good as she was from a start where her powers are a bit wonky.

(Although with Jack around I can see them being veeery tempted by her being super powerful but not knowing how to control it yet just for the sake of having a parallel.)

I am still not over Sam saying he can "see" Mary now before she appears to him, neatly book-ending this scene and 12x22 and Dean asking Mary to see HIM, and basically the fact they stole literally Mary's entire arc in season 12 from the staging of this scene.

And if you want to keep recycling it in reverse, she burns up again in 13x01 in Dean's dream, to cap that all off.

It's weird having Mary on screen in this over-dramatic OMG it's MARY way where it's the most amazing thing that's ever happened, and then we got a whole season of her where she was just kinda around :P

SAM: What’s happening to me? MISSOURI: I know I should have all the answers, but I don’t know.

And yep she's still lying to them and hiding everything she knows, and as such even though she's kinder to Sam since he's probing her less and less snappy than Dean, she doesn't give him the exact advice and information he needs even though apparently she and John knew a hell of a lot for ages...

You know what I would like? This is a total pipe dream, but for her to tell Dean what she actually knew when they met her, and maybe even apologise for withholding information because John said it was for the best and all. Because Sam was FUCKED UP by all this and honestly considering it's all one emotional arc right through the show it makes you wonder what Sam being given actual information by someone other than Azazel when it amuses him to do so would have ever done to help him figure out who he was, what was happening to him, and how he should react to it.

He's sitting on these steps feeling probably somewhat the same as Jack did in 13x02 where he was sitting on that crate in the alley, although from a less aggressive situation, just, kinda reflecting on everything that happened. He sees there's a pattern in everything kicking off, and now Mary apologises to him... And he's got these powers he's only just daring to even voice exist and grappling with what will be his myth arc for basically ever... And Missouri lies to him and withholds information he needs. John knows stuff about Sam - he DIES knowing more about Sam than they ever did until waaay too late. He probably knew BY THEN that Sam had demon blood, which wasn't revealed until the end of season 2, but logically follows from John's last words to mean that whatever reveal about Sam came at the end of the season, this is what he was worried Dean had to save Sam from (or kill him) at the start of the season when he could last have any input on that. And he spent most of season 1 chasing Azazel or working out how to kill him rather than researching Sam so I go back to wondering if Missouri put most of it together herself.

I wonder how much she didn't tell John.

I wonder what she DID tell John the moment the credits rolled on the episode and they were free to talk plot without spoiling anything for us. Did Missouri get him a cup of tea, sit down with him and tell him her full professional opinion of Sam which kicked off the entire everything else John did re: Sam? It's only a couple of episodes before he's on the other side of the country chasing leads on Azazel.

I wonder if she'd tell us any of this 13 years later...

I bet she says basically nothing, but these are my hanging questions about season 1 and 2 which ONLY she can enlighten us on.

This rewatch is so weird and messed up about what characters and plot things we're going to pass through. Sure the Wayward Sisters are utterly embedded in the show and even w/o the Patience thing go back more than half it's run - 3/4 of its run in fact - but they appear in such strange places tangential to massive happenings that following the characters around is going to be The Most Chaotic Rewatch Ever, for someone who likes meta-ing patterns.

I mean after this my next episode is to hop along to Claire's intro.

Anyway, John resisting going to see them but "not until I know the truth" which I assume is not the reason Chuck is being hands off in season 13 but I assume he thinks he has his reasons not to intervene.

John learned the truth from Missouri about monsters and the like, but now he's chasing the much bigger, plot important truths... It's going to mean he basically never sees his sons again, except for the prolonged contact at the end of this season/start of the next where he's sitting on whatever he knew about Sam which prompted his last words to Dean. I seriously, SERIOUSLY wonder if him saying he needs to know the truth ties back to "I went to Missouri and learned the truth" and that she DID tell John that Sam has demon blood and she put it all together between their initial contact and meeting Sam with his powers activated in their present day.

Oh gosh, I am sure someone has come up with that before, probably 13 years ago, but still. That's a good conspiracy to end on...

Okay screw it. I don't know why I'm the only one freaking out over this but I lost so much sleep last night because of the new Ml leak where AstroChat sends a creation of Tikkis out of control powers to hell on a cosmic level, and to hell with it I'll talk about it!

I'm gonna break down everything my mind spit out last night on this post, so LET'S GO:

As I already said in more detail on another post but Chat Noir is literally causing an even MUCH bigger scale of destruction than Chat Blanc. Tikkis creation is many times larger than our earth and Adrien is actively choosing to send that thing to hell unlike in "Chat Blanc" where the destruction of the world and moon happened unintentionally because his powers got out of control caused by his akumatization and fucking awful circumstances.

Okay. Next detail:

Just how MUCH energy did he release?? He's GLOWING! I immediately assumed that it definitely would take him more effort to destroy that thing than the simple touch we see in the leak, but that's another level!

Next

I don't know what exactly it is and how it can be THIS long (maybe also created by Tikki?) but AstroChat has some sort of rope around his hand, which screams "when shit goes down help me come back to earth again" to me

Initially I thought he's extending his Staff in the first Pic but I realized that that makes hardly any sense considering he's in AstroChat Modus.

The savety rope is most likely going to be seriously needed because OH MY GOD

That wave of destruction is 100% going to get him! This is animation. If Chat Noir isn't supposed to be hit here in the next shot then they wouldn't animate the wave directly clashing with him.

Which brings me to the necessity of him doing this in the first place. Because all of this is unapologetically a possible suicide mission and I'm pretty sure he's aware that.

If the spoilers and confirmations by Gloob are correct then Tikki getting out of control and all of this is going to happen in the episode where Marinettes parents will get akumatized.

Ladybugs powers can possibly not undo this thing because it's created by Tikki and it's not even sure if Marinette was able to transform already at this point or if this things has to be destroyed for Tikki to get normal again. Which would mean there is no way to quickly send another miraculous holder into battle to help Chat Noir. Renas power of illusion is not of use here and Adrien has no reason to believe that Alya has access to the miraculous. Which is also up to question in general if she even could get them right now since Marinettes parents getting akumatized could very likely make their home unaccessible in some Form, meaning an additional miraculous can't be brought into battle through going to the Miracle box and Marinette still being unable to transform means she can't use the only other way of getting a miraculous: her yo-yo.

Honestly, Ladybug being absent and Chat Noir thinking he's now the only person who can prevent this gigantic thing from possibly crashing earth is the only way I can see this happening.

Marinette would never ask Chat Noir to do this because of how dangerous it is and because she has never seen him use his powers on this scale (besides Chat Blanc) to even think about this option. I'm pretty convinced it was Adrien own decision to do this because of Ladybugs absence and the incoming end of the world, fully aware that this time it could very easily cost him his life.

Actually Adrien being willing to make the heros sacrifice here knowing there is no miraculous ladybug to bring him back, would pay off the set up of "Lies" which showed that Chat tends to self sacrifice himself so easily by the start of season 4 because Adrien feels so save with Ladybug that he doesn't think his sacrifices could ever come with fatal consequences for himself. Now he would do the sacrifice knowing it could very well cost him his life because our boy is one hell of a heroic soul

And when I'm already at it, let's go all out now.

So Chat Noir is indeed hit by the damn destruction wave and he doesn't fucking make it (but the viewer doesn't know that yet and it's never really too graphic). The destruction of Tikkis creation made her go normal again and Marinette is finally able to first catch and purify her parents akumas (which she did somehow idk, maybe she will reveal herself to her parents and they free themselves? Damn thats actually really likely...), while people are freaking out because a cosmic explosion the size of what? VENUS?? Went off right besides damn earth.

Whoever was on the other side of the rope-like thing around Chats hand is also freaking out because the destruction wave just caught up with Chat and people are desperately trying to bring him back to earth. They manage it but since Adrien isn't going to God damn MOVE anymore after not having made it Chat is now just god damn free falling towards earth and Ladybug catches him before he crashes.

The day is saved but Chat remains unresponsive in Ladybugs arms back on earth and after a bit it dawns on her that he's gone. Marinette reacts with denial and panic causing Ladybug to FINALLY develop her separate healing powers to bring him back.

It was around 2 am in the morning when you and Riki decided to stay for a little bit more to finish up the first part of the song.

"1 2 3 4, 5 6 7 8" Riki counts as you both move in sync, he smiles at your worn out figure laying down on the ground "tired? we can wrap this up if you want to"

He sits down next to you, handing you his cup of cold water. Your mind secretly going on frantic over his little gesture "Let's just finish this last part and i'm heading home- unless you're tired too-" you sip the water, sitting up.

"-Nah, nah i'm not tired yet" He shakes his head. crap, did that sound too desperate? Riki asks himself, trying his best to not make it seem like he was avoiding your gaze

"Alright then, 2:30 we'll leave" You say, walking towards the table as you place the cup. Riki seriously didn't know how calm and collected you were especially with just the two of you alone, together. No managers, no members, nada.

You start playing the music, feeling yourself getting more exhausted each minute that passed by. Sloppily moving your body with the rhythm. Of course that didn't go unnoticed by Riki.

As the song ended, you both face each other. It was a part of the dance, but your face being barely an inch from Riki's wasn't. You both froze, not knowing what to do. Well, facing a different way was another solution, but neither of you wanted to do that, let's be honest.

At this moment, Riki didn't give a shit.

He grabbed you by the waist, faces inching closer by the second. But before your lips could touch—

“This one is for the boys with the boomin syst— Riki? Y/n?” Heeseung takes a second to blink, eyes refusing to see what he was seeing “I uh, I gotta go. My manager is asking if i’m at home. See you Riki, Bye Heeseung” You hurriedly pack your things, face red from embarrassment and the thought of you and Riki almost kissing.

Your company sucks for not getting you a driver”

“No I told them I could walk home” You chuckle, in Riki’s eyes you seemed so bothered. Noticing the way you dragged your feet and messy hair “Everything okay?” He asked, facing you

“Riki we’re doomed! Heeseung knows, and maybe dispatch is somewhere out there already taking pictures of us at this mome—”

He giggles “So what?” You gasp, mouth open. You seriously couldn’t believe this kid.

“So what?! Ugh, why do I even put up with you” facepalming as you groan

“Heeseung hyung said he wouldn’t tell, and I don’t care about dispatch, engenes know how close we are and does your fans. They’ll think this is a friendly gesture” Riki reassures you as he looked at the stars, finding peace within your presence.

“So don’t worry okay? Everything will be alright. And if they ever suspect anything, I’ll try to find a way to get us out of it” He stops by your doorstep “Well, this is your dorm, good night y/n—”

Without a thought running through your mind, you pecked Riki Nishimura. Immediately trying to unlock the door “Good night Riki” You smile, squealing once you closed it “I saw that” Ningning smirks. There goes your money.

It was the following week after your collaboration with Riki was released and so far everything was going great. Both your fans really liked the content you both made, appreciating your talents and especially loved your ‘friendship’

Riki was right, everything was going to be alright. No dispatch and no suspicions from the fans and both companies.

And ever since that night, you and Riki had decided to make it official. Both agreeing to keep it a secret for now until you were both ready.

Thankfully the fans recognized the playful personalities and cherished your friendship, making videos like “Y/n and Riki being chaotic in their (collab) behind” and “Riki and Y/n being the best friends everyone would want” Of course, your companies noticed the sudden increase of popularity for both groups and proposed an idea of having each other in shows, and other things that could possibly make you interact more. Almost immediately, you both were very supportive of the idea and agreed to do more shows.

You guys had an episode to go to the beach with the other Enhypen members. As you were filming the things that you were packing, Riki knocks on your door “Oh? Riki came~” you cooed, smiling at the sight of his head peaking through the door “Y/n! You’re packing more than necessary” He laughs, looking at the big pile of folded clothes.

After a few minutes, you decided to stop filming. Immediately throwing yourself into Riki’s arms “Are you excited?” you asked, rubbing circles on his back “not really— I mean yeah i kinda am but what if the other members—”

He pouts at the sound of you laughing “No ones gonna steal me Nishimura Riki. If that’s what you’re worried about” you squished his cheeks

“Now help me pick which swim suit I should wear”

“Okay :D” He gladly says, sitting patiently as you start gathering the options.

So far, filming with enhypen was fun, you got to play games in the pool, grill meat, answering mini interviews the other members held, you enjoyed it all.

Of course the trip wouldn’t be complete without you and Riki flirting with each other once in a while. Which caught both your fans attention, posting overly suspicious interactions between you and Riki. Leaving comments like “act surprised when they reveal that they’re dating” and “OKAY CAN WE TALK ABOUT: Y/n casually wrapping her arms around Riki’s neck while just staring at each other in today’s behind” all around twitter.

Jungwon being active on all social media platforms didn’t help either, resulting to him realizing that you and Riki were more than just friends. Soon enough the other members figure it out as well, silently sitting back and enjoying you both so oblivious towards the fact that everyone knew.

Meanwhile, you and Riki thought you were doing an excellent job at keeping it a secret. While resting on the same bed watching a movie, your manager barges in, shoving the phone into both your faces “Nishimura Riki, care to explain?”

Okay so literally no one asks me if I want Martin to live and why so here we go, I guess! I have Opinions about this, and I'm fully aware they go against what the majority feels. And uh, this is gonna be long.

As I said previously, I've come to the realization that Palermo is little more than a plot device in Casa de Papel. So from that point of view, I see why the writers would feel like his character deserves to die in a way that either continues his parallels to Berlin, since he was framed to be his "mirror" in the new season(s) (although you could argue that Tokio already did that) or in some other ~poetic way - like saving Helsinki? Or the rest of la banda?

But if Palermo was written in any way like a three-dimensional character, coherent - in as much as people are coherent and consistent, which is not a lot - with motivations and having some personal growth, then I believe he should live.

We first meet Martin in the second episode of Season 3, when Sergio drops by to ask permission to use his and Andres' plan to rescue Rio. We meet a Martin that's broken down, living off alcohol and pills, looking disheveled, living in a messy and cluttered apartment. However, he seems to have found a way to heal - music. And man, I must not be alone in this when I say that I understand that so much taking refuge in music as a coping mechanism, you know? He is not a man at rock bottom, the way I see it; he's a man that's been there, more than once, but he's beginning to pull himself out of it. So he's on his way to being "better".

I think that, had Sergio not come to him that day, he would have eventually found a way to be "himself" again - whoever that may be. (Cause we sure as hell don't know. Thanks, Pina! Martin only exists because of and for the plan.)

But he agrees to help, and the why isn't explicitly stated. The way I see it, the gold plan is the last thing that's tying him to Andres; seeing this through will permanently close that chapter of his life and allow him to move on. It must hurt, but it must also be thrilling to finally turn their plan into reality. Something he's maybe given up hope that he'll ever do - although we do see, in his apartment, a model of a zeppelin like the one they use in plan Chernobyl, so it's clear that he's still enamored with all the potential of the plan. Of course he would be.

And then he's at the monastery again, having to tell a bunch of amateurs (in his eyes) about the plan that he and Andres came up with, all the while having to see his face in that painting every single day. He seems to get along with the team, in his own way; he eyes Helsinki from the first second, hits on him shamelessly like there's not a bunch of other people sitting right there, but remains primarily focused on the plan. The night before they go in the bank (as I read Helsi's or Nairobi's "tomorrow is a big day" after the ciao), he goes all boom boom ciao with Helsinki. It kinda makes sense that Martin wouldn't feel like post-coital cuddles in a place that has such meaning to him, and in a moment that's so tense.

And then he's In the bank, and it all goes to shit. He's got Tokio assuming charge (in yet another parallel to Berlin) and then he's like "okay, if you want to make a mockery of my plan then I'm out" and then he gets tied to a chair and gets more and more enraged. And he helps free Gandia, the only other character who's maybe more of a plot device than Palermo is, who - only for the purpose of the plot - doesn't know how to escape handcuffs despite his military training.

And then Nairobi dies and I guess Martin understands the depth of the things he's enabled. IDK, you can read the scene as you will.

Okay I'm rambling.

Yes, when he has that heart to heart with Helsinki, we see even more scenes from his "rock bottom". How hard he took being pushed away from Andres' life, and then having to process his death too. He was in a Bad Place, deep enough to know very well what pain was. BUT-- he's still alive. He's found a reason to keep going, even before finding himself in the situation of turning their plan into reality. He's got even more reasons now to do it - he can't not. He owes it to himself, to Andres, and to the rest of the team to see it through and to get them out of there.

And-- yes, he lost the love of his life. Twice. But-- He never really expected anything to come out of his love for Andres. He did set it into motion, when Andres confessed that he loved him all that time, ~more than he's loved any woman, and it gave him something he never thought he could get. For a few minutes, he had it all - and then, he had absolutely nothing.

Is that a reason for him to want to stop living? At first, maybe. He admits that he's flirted with the idea in those flashbacks where he looks at those pistols.

But he doesn't. And you know why I think that's maybe one of the things that actually make him more real, more of a believable character? It's very simple. To be poetic, he's too old for this shit. Sure, if he was 14, like Romeo, it would have made sense. But he's not. He's got some forty revolutions around the Sun. And it may not seem like it's much (especially to those that are younger) but these years-- they matter. They put things into perspective.

It's implied, from when he talks about finding his refuge in the music of his youth, that he didn't have a wealthy, cushy life back in Argentina. He's possibly had to go through a lot of things, had to fight tooth and nail to be where he is - that's why I don't think that life would have no meaning to him just because he lost the love of his life. He's old enough to have started losing touch with friends along the way; close, dear friends. This happens, you know? He's old enough to have started losing members of his family, maybe even his parents. Loss--- just happens, after a certain age. It's an acceptable variable of life.

And, look. Parents lose children. It's the worst-- I can't even describe it in words. And I don't want to get into it; but even they - most of them, at least - find a way to pick themselves back up and find whatever reason to wake up the day after day. People lose the love of their life so often it only enforces the idea that life is unfair, and that these things will happen. But Martin is in his forties; he knows this happens. He's had it happen with Andres, and it was years in the past. And sure, he is still a wreck, but a wreck that found his "key", his reason to keep trying. To keep fighting.

That's why I don't buy it for a second that he'd die in any poetic way just because he's lost Andres. That he thinks his life is meaningless - He wouldn't. He's enough of a narcissist to refuse that idea. Sure, the writers can pack it a million different ways. If the heist gets to a point where all seems lost, he could decide that if he's lost Andres already, and it looks like the plan is falling apart too, then he'd have no reason to move on (especially if it helps La Banda). And this is just one of the things, literally the first one that came to my mind. Honestly, I've written enough to know you can justify anything. But that doesn't mean it holds up if you look closer into it.

Martin is motivated; we've seen this in part 5 and in snippets from part 2. He's motivated to get everyone out of there alive. And I think he should. I'm sure they have a plan where for when the police capture them inside, if not that's the plan. (Again, in the simplest ways, I doubt the trailer would have leaned so much into them being captured if that was the end and they all ended up in prison). The way I see it, he wants to get out of there alive, gold or no gold. He wants out, and once this chapter of his life is ended, he can continue getting better. Living his life.

People have lost worse things than their unrequited love. Even if the way he lost him - the first time, at least - was brutal, with being given hope and then having it all wrenched away. And then Andres died, making the loss final. So yes; he's lost a lot. But he's just-- old enough for it to be put into perspective. Not to mention, he managed to resist doing Rash Actions for over 3 years. And he was working his way to getting better - I think that after the plan is behind him, he can finally heal. He can finally focus on himself and who he wants to be, and all that he can be and do.

He's too self-absorbed to think that he's worthless, and his actions second that. I just want him to be a fleshed-out character, and not a plot device for the writers to wring some viewers' tears; I want him to actually live. His life has value once he fully ends the chapter of his life that includes Andres, and he deserves to live it.

Putting this behind a cut, but. [TW mental health talk and mentions of a word I am not comfortable writing]

I've been dealing with depression most of my life. Most? All. (and I'm closer to Martin's age than I'm comfortable with) So I latched onto Martin's flashbacks from after the chapel, how Bad he was. Of course, I saw depression. I know you can't diagnose a character, and with Martin it's never outright stated that "he's suffered from depression". But-- he was in a Bad Place.

Is it too much for me to want to not see yet another show killing off a character who struggles with their mental health? And yes, I know this happens in real life. Believe me, I do. I know too well. I know how close *I* was to being a statistic and a tragic memory in the lives of those who love me, and how it will always be a reality/possibility that's buried deep inside the ugliest parts of me, just waiting to come out and cry its siren song at me. I KNOW. I know that just as well as I know that I'll never be Fine. I'll never be "over it". I'll always have to fight this, the waves that come and go, and that I'll have to fight and pray that one of them won't claim me.

So-- is it that bad for me to hope that he lives? Because he can. He may be broken, may never be truly Fine, but he CAN. And maybe it's self-serving, but I want a broken character to be left, at the end of his on-screen story, with Hope. With admitting how fucking hard it is to fight, but still fighting. And alive.

I absolutely loved his character and the fact that he was one of the few people who wants justice and is honest made me love him even more

Him playing Go Hu Dong was amazing as well and I didn't recognize him at all at first like he played it so well with the accent, costume and wig and everything

His accent and language switch in between English and the Busan accent Korean was so fucking sexy🥵

He was also serving amazing LOOKS every episode in the two seasons and I loved every single one of them

But instead of that they gave us a bigger plot twist and blew up our man with a bomb😩

Another one that annoyed me angered me so much🙄

Like she was ruthless and had no mercy when it came to bullying and putting people down that she thought were a rival or putting people down in general

She didn't change even when Rona died

She also went as far as to like cheat her way to win the Cheong Ah Art High School trophy and blackmailed Cheon Seojin to win the trophy

But there were times where she would show emotions and those would be often her break down and weak moments

And those moments would really show how she is broken inside and puts up a careless and brave image, she is someone who needs healing even though healing takes time

I also saw someone saying like 'oh Seok Kyung hates her mom so much'

Yeah she hated her mom but she didn't hate her to death like she didn't wish death upon her

Seok Kyung was heart broken when she heard Suryeon's death and that showed that she still loved her mom even though Suryeon didn't give birth to them

I was heart broken when I saw that she cut her hair because here was no one there to tie it for her bc Suryeon loved Seok Kyungs long hair and that's why she didn't cut it but after he mothers death no one was there to tie her hair for her

I started seeing her in a different light after a while bc again it showed that he character was very broken emotionally and needed healing

I'm interested about seeing more of her character development after the last ep where she defended Rona

Also my girl is so hot, another one that was serving amazing looks

He was lowkey annoying at first ngl

Like my man was just🧍🏻‍♂️

It annoyed me so much how he defended his sister so much, fell for her tricks, covered up for her and did anything she said EVEN though its wrong

But after some time I understood that he cared for and that she was the only family left to him

I mean Seok Hoon hate Joo Dan Tae so he doesn't counts and Suryeon was dead at the moment

I will still not forgive him for bullying Seol A even though he regrets it

It also annoyed me how he didn't stood up for Rona at all in the first season even though he liked her

By he got so much better in S2, he was even part in the revenge plan

He is literally the human CCTV camera in Hera Palace like he knows more than even the viewers know

The way he was protective of Rona when he found out she was alive was so aDORABLE

And my man was amazing in the last episodes

Like I sometimes just was to 🤜🏻👩🏻

But sometimes I wanna hug her😩

Idk I feel like she became a horrible person bc of greed and that he father and mother placed too high expectations for her

Instead of praising her for her accomplishments her parents wanted her to do more

Maybe that's why she was desperate for love and affection and found that in Joo Dan Tae even though he pretended to like her

But that definitely does not dismiss her horrible actions

But also the harsh past made her the could hearted person, like she left her father to die

She felt more care towards her daughter after she almost lost her because Eunbyeol tried to commit suicide

She was in alot of pain and you could see it in her cries and when she was on the phone with the person

Soyeon's acting was amazing in that scene

She started to care more about her ex husband and daughter when she saw how much Eunbyeol was suffering and she realized that she genuinely liked Ha Yoon Chul hwen she saw how horrible Joo Dan Tae was

I did feel bad for her sometimes but after seeing that she didn't change I really didn't feel any sympathy for her

She needs therapy

Girlie was shocked when the doctor said she is losing her voice like bestie you are screaming every episode

She was also serving amazing looks every episode

Ha Yoon Chul

Like I am not going to deny it but he is hot🥵

But the first few episodes he was an absolute asshole and greedy

But I never expected him to be Yoonhee's ex boyfriend

I did like him a tiny bit when he saved Yoon Hee from Kyu Jin

His entrance in S2 with the helicopter was damn hot

And I WAS SO SHOCKED WHEN HE SAID MEET MY WIFE OH YOON HE

LIKE YAY MY SHIP IS SAILING

I spoke too soon

His character development and fighting skills were hot as well

He was ADORABLE with Rona and Yoonhee

I seriously thought that Rona was his daughter

BUT THAN AT THE CHEONG AH FESTIVLE OOF SIR I WANTED TO PUNCH HIM

I WAS SO MAD WHEN HE SABOTAGED RONA'S PERFORMANCE

I began hating him after that💀

Like he went 📈📉 with his character development

AND THEN HE CLEANED EUNBYEOL'S MEMORY FROM THAT NIGHT LIKE SIR SKSHSKSHKS SHE DID HAT TO YOUR DAUGHTER

I actually asked my dad what he thought about what Yoon Chul did and this was his reponse:

"If you look at it from a parents perspective they would want to do anything if they saw their child in pain like he did but I would've also scolded her and had a conversation with her about why she did it instead of wiping her memory from that night like he did. "
