Ganna rant about Episode 4 of Hazbin again. For starters it has the same issue that Seeing Stars did for Helluva boss, that being Loona giving Octavia advice in comparison to Husk giving Angel advice. While the characters situations are different, both Loona and Husk were the wrong characters to pick to give advice, or simply just comfort the other character. I’ve already seen some people say that Charlie or Vaggie should have been the one to cheer Angel up, and that would have made more sense. They’ve known him longer and it’s in character for them to do that. For it to be Husk, not only does it feel forced as an excuse to just hook Angel up with a boyfriend and get the shipping fuel going, but it doesn’t make sense narratively.

In Loona’s case, her situation was flawed because she just MET Octavia, didn’t know a thing about her struggles and spouts to her about how she should be thankful just because her dad is “trying”, and the show tries comparing both girl’s situations when they’re not the same. This is practically the same situation with Angel and Husk. While Husk is aware of Angel, he barley knows him. He hasn’t been at the hotel that long considering the pilot took place only a week ago. On screen, all that Husk knew about Angel was that he was a porn star who constantly flirts with everyone, him especially, and we as the audience only see that and only that when the two interact. However episode 4 claims that Husk can see right through him and know that this is all part of his persona that he displays. If we had more time with these two characters outside of flirty banter scenes, this would make more sense, but instead it’s all tell and no show, being rushed with the little time we’re given. Husk even says that the hotel residents go to him to rant their sorrows while they’re drunk and even THAT happens off screen and that’s the problem, the audience has no reason to believe that Husk knows Angel deep down or even cares enough to want to help him, in our eyes, all Angel’s been doing is sexually harassing him.

There’s no reason why these two need to have an emotional scene together, it’s unearned and unwarranted because we haven’t had enough time with these characters, just like Loona and Octavia, there’s just no purpose or buildup. I also resort back to what I’ve said before: Husk selling his soul to Alastor is not the same as Angel selling his soul to Valentino. The show tries to compare Angel and Husk’s situations and it’s just not comparable because Alastor isn’t a rapist who’s trapping Husk to sell his body and be used like a rag doll constantly. Had it been something like “you’re a drug abuser and I’m an alcoholic”- THEN that would have worked, but that’s not what we get, and this leads me to talking about why “Loser Baby” isn’t good.

Some people have already misinterpreted my opinion, so here’s a few things. Is the song in character for Husk? Yes. Is the song about Husk telling Angel not to act and just embrace himself? Yes. On its own, the song is fine outside of some distasteful lines. The CONTEXT, execution, and placement of the song is the issue. Episode 4’s whole purpose is to see just how much Angel suffers. He’s forced to work like a dog at the studio day in and day out, and he gets abused and SA’d by his boss and other demons constantly. He doesn’t have a say in anything and can never say no because he’s under contract. He can’t Fizz his way out of this one and just go “I quit”, he’s literally forced to work in the porn industry wether he likes it or not, and we see all of that on screen. We also explore just how much this affects him. They reveal some pretty dark stuff here, how Angel doesn’t even want his position as a famous porn star and is so desperate to be numb from the pain and suffering he endorses that he’ll get high constantly and let people drug him for nefarious reasons, it’s his escape. They dump ALL of that info onto us, only for this bullshit to come up:

So the writers slut shame him, call him a freak and an addict to laugh at because “haha he’s addicted to drugs and a slut”, even though we JUST got done with a scene that confirms HE DOES ALL OF THIS AS A TRUAMA RESPONSE. He said himself he does the drugs and is addicted to numb the pain, and his own flirting (while problematic) is shown to be an act of him hyper sexualizing himself due to what he goes through. It’s not excusable but it’s still a fact, and we’re supposed to LAUGH at him??? That’s what’s wrong with his character and what continues to be wrong, because Viv sees him as the butt of the joke. Every line of dialogue he has is always about sex and how we should laugh because he’s a slut, an it comes off as so distasteful and insensitive to not only people who have been abused/SA’d, but porn actors in general. We’re supposed to laugh when he talks about cock and sex, but the reason he’s doing it is so dark that we shouldn’t be laughing about it at all cause he’s a VICTIM, yet Viv thinks it’s funny. It’s so disgusting and makes my stomach twist. Angel is trapped being in a position he doesn’t even want to be in, yet his entire character revolves around comedic sex jokes, and once you figure out the reason behind said sex jokes, it feels so wrong.

And this is why Loser Baby doesn’t work. Aside from everything else I’ve already said, It doesn’t line up with what Angel is going through, it doesn’t line up with the rest of the episode. If you wanted Angel to have this arc about realizing he doesn’t need to stick to his persona, fine, but you should have done it in a different episode. This is why Husk comes off as telling him to just suck it up and stop whining rather than what he’s actually trying to say. It looks bad with how they executed it, it just looks like he’s telling an SA victim to get over it and stop whining and what’s worse is they compare their situations when it’s not the same. You literally have a scene of Angel telling Husk he lets people drug him, and not even a minute later Husk is calling him a loser. That’s the issue. The show doesn’t know how to read the room, build character relationships slower, is just so incredibly tone deaf and is hypocritical. We’re supposed to feel bad for Angel cause he’s sexualized to the maxes and is having trauma responses of that, but then we’re also supposed to laugh at him and his sex jokes while also finding him hot. Pick a fucking side Vivienne, the show wants to have its cake and eat it too and look where that’s gotten us. The writing is a fucking atrocious mess and yet it had so much potential if Viv actually cared enough to take Angel seriously, instead of just desperately wanting to give him a boyfriend, and a rushed arc where he magically feels better in the end.

*ahem* Hello fellow fans and au makers! I am here to showcase my silly little au. Allow me to introduce you to our main characters:

These are Sunset and Moonlight, from The Sunset and Moonlight show! Close ups and info dump below

Where to start where to start, okay, a general description of the AU should be good to start with yeah? Yeah

This is a swap au, but unlike what I usually see swap AUs do, this is less of a full personality swap and more of a ‘bend the characters to a point where they change roles’ thing.

NOW. THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES—

Sunset Rays Celestial-

Sun is a tired and apathetic guy. He would like to be left all alone in his room for the rest of his days, but that’s not really a good thing so he’s fine just living a calm and drama-free life.

His hobbies include cleaning, painting, sewing, and gaming. The cleaning has gotten embedded into his code to a concerning degree, he will clean a spot over and over for hours if he’s having a bad day. He got into art while he was undergoing “repairs”, he found painting to be a fun activity despite its messiness, and sewing has proven to be fruitful for his wardrobe. He’s gotten so good at these that he actually gets commissions and is paid very well. He prefers to draw with pastels and markers when he can. The video games are a shared hobby with his twin brother, Moon, they both play together sometimes. His favorite game is Cult of the Lamb.

He has a malfunction of sorts where his voice box will give out randomly and he’ll be unable to talk. It’s annoying but he doesn’t really mind, he has gotten really good at sign language from it. Plus, he uses it as an excuse to avoid talking to Moon whenever he gets the chance to.

The Computer absolutely hates his guts and has sent him off to various different dimensions. He’s acquainted with quite a few people and even has friends.

He has very good aim, both in video games and physically. He usually uses it to throw something at Moon to get his attention. Or to get him to leave him alone. Or to annoy him. Or just because. This has proved to be a really bad habit.

Despite being generally apathetic, he’s actually pretty good with emotions, being able to read them well on others and act accordingly.

He also knows magic.

Crescent Moonlight Celestial-

Moon is an energetic and nervous guy. He wants nothing more than to live happily with his brother. And do science, he’s a nerd.

His hobbies include science and gaming. On the side of science he specializes on robotics, programming, and inter dimensional studies, with some advanced physics as well. He’s a genius, basically. Gaming is a shared hobby between him and his twin brother, they both play together sometimes. He seems to have taken a liking to the Kingdom Hearts series, but Pokémon will forever have his heart.

The killing code is very much still in him, it manifests as heat on the back of his head and irritability. During a full kill code episode he’ll be extremely aggressive, on top of having increased physical capabilities and virtually no filter. He dreads having those and constantly checks his temperature. Independent from the kill code he has a bad temper.

He isn’t exactly a ‘people’s person’ yet due to having been the active Daycare Attendant for a few months he has grown acquainted with a few of the Pizzaplex animatronics. Montgomery took a liking to him. Because money.

Because of reasons he has a lot of bunkers on a lot of different parts of the world. He remembers them all thanks to the collection of tree branches he has picked up when he visited. These are jokingly called The Whacking Sticks (and is a genuine joke, he just likes collecting sticks)

He wanted to learn emotions better so he decided to find the code that controls emotions in himself and turned it on all the way. He’s starting to realize this wasn’t a good idea.

A master acrobat, he loves flying with the wire.

In case it wasn’t clear yet, Sun and Moon switch places in this au. Things may change, and I may come up with funny details later, but I hope you had fun reading this little introduction to my au

Warnings: I don't really think there is any. The only note I want to give is that the boys are all individual and there no reference to the others' honeymoon ideas. So yeah.

I feel like the obvious choice is Egypt, and yeah sure maybe he does want that to be your honeymoon location, but not for the reasons you think

Steven feels like if him talking all about it takes away the magic of the honeymoon and what it's meant to be. It's meant to be a thing that you both get to experience as a newlywed couple. It's a personal thing for the two of you. So he knows that him fanboying will take all that away because his focus isn't on you, his spouse, the light of his life and the air in his lungs, and what kind of husband would he be if he focused on anything else

So you two go see more scenic places like the shores or the nightlife

Do something together

And I mean, you have the rest of your lives together. You can be tourists some other time

Marc Spector

I have a feeling Marc would actually want to go somewhere where no one will bother you

He would be okay with whatever you wanted but if you genuinely want him to say what he wants and imagines for the honeymoon then he'll say that

I know Marc gets played as a grouch a lot but like, Marc is just not a people person and he doesn't want to deal with people during the trip where it's meant to be just for you and him

He doesn't want to hear a million strangers congratulating him and you and all that

So maybe a cabin somewhere nice with scenery. Where you can soak in all the sights together with no one interrupting you

You don't need to go anywhere where there will be a bunch of people because its all right there if you just look out a window

The two of you can just cuddle and have a peaceful time

Yeah, you guys go out and get dinner someplace nice too but just like

Jake wants to go somewhere lively since he sees your honeymoon as one big party vacation for the two of you to celebrate trying the knot

He still values it the same as Marc and Steven would with it being something for you but he just wants it to be fun and big

So he'd want to go to someplace like Las Vegas, New Orleans, Miami, or New York. Just something fun.

You're newlyweds so why not act like it?

I do see one thing that seems like something Jake would do and that's doing one big road trip to your honeymoon location

It sounds wild but in all honestly, Jake's wild, and also why not?

You guys are married now, you're going to be with each other for the rest of your lives so might as well pack yourselves into a car and have fun on the road

Stop at some spots you see advertised on the billboards that you pass. It'll make for great stories to tell others or reminisce on down the line

I can see Jake being the type of man where he keeps his old cars and has a story for every single one of them

sorry if some of these are the same as the last one I forget which ones I put before 🙁

-When Mike was chasing after the car he tripped scraped his knee broke his ankle and busted his kneecap and just gave up on life right then and there

-Mike smokes weed but he could take the tiniest tinniest hit of a bong and he’d cough up a lung so he just mainly sticks to blunts or bowls

-Abby has called 911 multiple times because she wanted to contact Vanessa but it obviously didn’t work.

-Vanessa used to dye her hair fun colors but she can’t anymore cuz of her job but she wears colorful extensions

-Abby’s therapist has tried so hard to hint at Mike that he should get an autism diagnosis because his sister has one and he still hasn’t picked up on it despite showing clear traits of autism

-When golden Freddy and Abby left the cab he just handed Cory a piece of paper with ‘one million dollars’ scribbled on it in green crayon. Cory was to scared to say no he just was like “yeah ok sure” and then cried

-Mike and Abby did not go to Aunt Janes funeral they instead went to Dave and Busters and played arcade games while their entire extended family blew up Mikes Nokia phone

-Aunt Jane was a “wine mom” and was in heavy denial of being an alcoholic

-Abby really likes bugs and puts them in her pockets but Mike is terrified of bugs so he freaks out whenever he sees them crawling on her or in her laundry

-Vanessa apologizes to people while arresting them

-The animatronics consider the cupcake to be their puppy and get confused when people think he’s a menace

-One time Doug ran into Mike and Abby at Walmart once and he just threw his thick ass lawyer wallet at then then ran away to have a panic attack. Mike and Abby bought a blow up pool that day

-Doug had to go to therapy due to Aunt Jane being an absolute fucking Karen

-Doug’s now a regular at Sparkys and is besties with Ness, he considers Ness “The son he never had”

-Bonnie kid (Jeremy) really liked Spider-Man

-Vanessa has a pitbull named Princess that she took home from an animal control call. (The dog is a fucking danger to society)

-Abby picked up on some 80s slang from the animatronics and now just says radical to everything

-Max and her friends would be doing TikTok trends before TikTok was even a thing (stealing soap dispensers from public bathrooms, sticking pennies in electrical sockets ect)

-Vanessa is a Disney adult/hj

-There’s a rubix cube in the pizzeria that the animatronics have been trying to solve since they’ve been dead basically

-Every night after Abby goes to bed Mike goes to the kitchen and eats shredded cheese by the handful. Abby caught him once and he cried.

-Mike is the type of person to ask those weird questions while watching movies, like: “If their underwater how are they drinking soda?”

-Mike would stuff all his emotions and feelings down till he bursts and it usually results in him locking himself in his room while having a panic attack

-Max was also a weed dealer so Mikes out of a babysitter and a plug.

-Vanessa hates soda, loves tea tho

-Mike really likes the Care Bears and uses Abby as an excuse for liking it

-Ness uses those really cheesy pet names for Mike, some of them southern originated because I believe in southern Ness solidarity. Ex: Sweetie pie, Sugar, Doe

-Abby is really good at hide and seek but caused Mike a few panic attacks because of how well she hides

-After Freddy’s neither Mike or Abby could sleep without a nightlight so she lent Mike hers on the agreement she could sleep in his room with him. (He of course accepted)

-Mike: Where’s my Diet Coke?

Vanessa: Oh I threw it away, sodas not good for you.

Mike: Oh ok- WHAT.

-Abby still asks Mike to tie her shoes for her even though he already taught her how to tie them herself

-Mike has a very particular morning routine that he has to follow every morning and feels icky if it gets interrupted for any reason

-Mike is more noise sensitive and Abby is more texture sensitive but Mike still hates certain textures (ex: olives)

-Mike has considered owning chickens and even went with Abby to look at little chicks but she soon started sneezing and feeling sick and that's when they found out she's allergic so that quickly got shut down

-Abby gives her stuffed animals lore and hierarchies and Ness is always asking her about it when her and Mike go into the diner

-Vanessa Has a very minimalist style not because she likes it but because she's scared of getting attached to anything she calls home which at times worries her when she's with Mike, Abby and Ness. This results in her sitting in bed, chewing on her lip thinking of constant escape plans and emergency exits in case her father ever returns, if something bad happens, etc.

-Mike likes seeing Abby draw him and pretends not to notice when she stares and tries to get the color of his shirt just right (he buys clothing in colors she has to make it easier)

-Abby is the type to point out cows and horses and will repeatedly kick Mike's seat even while he's driving until he acknowledges them

-Abby doesn’t understand why her and Mike can’t just print more money to make them rich and Mike has had to explain to to her 12837383838 times

-Ness is a theater kid (yeah if you didn’t see this coming I think you need glasses)

-Ness and Mike play lps with Abby, Abby explains all of her lps lore extensively and Ness listens to every bit of it while Mike is just like: “I love you both but wtf”

-Mike sometimes age regresses sometimes when put under pressure and Ness is literally the best caretaker ever (this one’s based on a Dreamtheory fic I read once and I fell in love with the idea)

-Ness and Mike call each other every night before going to sleep and once Mike forgot so he woke up the next morning to 300+ voicemails from Ness asking if he’s ok

(Disclaimer: please don't read this out for content on any video or audio streaming site. I don't know if people have started pulling them from here yet, but I don't want this to be on youtube.)

I have a really shitty ex, he was someone who's mentally unwell, but would use it as an excuse to take everything out on you. He did some awful things to me while we were together; abandoning me outside of a bar in a dangerous, unfamiliar city, at 9pm when I had no phone or way home if anything went wrong, taking me inside adult stores and trying to pressure me to buy things when he knew I was anxious and made fun of me afterwards (I can't go near them without feeling on the verge of a panic attack), basically telling me that if I wanted to see him that I should send him gas money, kept calling me slurs when I asked him not to, etc etc list goes on and on.

I was younger and stupid, and just head over fucking heels for this dude. He'd constantly need reassurance and comforting that his friends didn't hate him, and all this emotional support and he just absolutely drained me. I couldn't send him a "hey, I'm out with so and so rn, they say Hi!!" without him going into a monologue about how everyone actually hates him. Eventually after one almost break up because he couldn't actually articulate that he wanted to dump me, he finally ended our relationship about 2 years ago.

A few months ago, I got a heads up from a friend that he's tweeting on his nsfw side account about me and how I was the shitty one. Come to find out, there's months of this. Hes been tweeting about me for all this time. Our last actual conversation was civil. I actually warned him not to go on a road trip with an ex friend of mine because this person admitted to raping another friend of mine and tried to flirt with me as soon as he found out I was single. I've only talked a few times about his clearly abusive behavior to what were mutual friends and that was directly after the break up, again close to almost 2 years ago.

Every blue moon I'll check his stupid god damn Twitter to see if he's said something new due to morbid curiosity and the fear that he might do something about his anger. He knows my address and where I work, and he's sent me a picture of a family pet with a gun next to it. As of sending this, he's recently tweeted about being enraged about me.

Its been going on for so long and I think its geniunely bad for both parties so I'm considering talking to his dad. I still have his number from when we were together. His dad's not going to beat him and probably won't do anything extreme, but I think my ex geniunely needs an intervention. Would I be a dick for contacting his dad?

they squandered his character sm and theres barely been any development since he got brought back to life… especially on the KC side. id love to see how youd rewrite it tbh- or if you want feel free to just use this ask as a bloodmoon thoughts dump

ALRIGHT SO We can run along with bm2 But also them going 'no their NOT the original thus we dont need to think about their charascter' as they seemingly established a bit with that but also not? Like that kinda furthers BM's whole arc of being treated like a murder machine (he was LITERALLY rebuilt for that, nothing more than tool!), and yet instead of USING THAT (which like.... we kinda got a bit of that with Eclipse, no i wont get into that.) they go 'HMNNN no, we dont wanna develop this further hes just villain' LIKE. SURE. ALRIGHT. BUT... YOU LITERALLY HAD SO MANY SET UPS WITH LIKE... His weird attachment to monty that one TIME yknow the 'hes my dad!' even tho hes not and its very debatable with Eclipse and KC depending how you wanna go about it (In terms of WHO made bloodmoon its Eclipse whos derived from KC and Moon and SUN.) Where was I YEAH HIS THEME OF NO ONE IS FAMILY BUT BLOODMOON. Only THEY understand that theyre not a tool or worthless! (Yknow just completely missing a way to use their codependence to help further their own coping of SEVERAL THINGS.) Yet he still STILL seeked out and called KC father, he still somewhat has thoughts on family. He's going after EARTH who's just vibin' trying to be accepting, even jealous of LUNAR for 1) being brought back and two) survived Eclipse and lives happily (sorta) and while begrudgingly i must say forgot bloodmoon. (WHICH LIKE. THATS THEIR OWN FAULT FOR NOT DRAGGING LUNAR INTO THAT PLOT EVEN THO HE HAD ALL THIS BLOODMOON INFO DURING THAT WHOLE THING. not used it ONCE. they purposely left lunar out of that and thats annoying. chaos sibligns 4 lyfe) Anyway you COULD so still use that in regards to Sun trying to reach out to them ('I wouldve loved another brother' will forever be brought up. also literally in the same convo sun does admit hed kill em again but WE'RE FOCUSING ON THE FAMILY PART GUYS) I'd have to scrap some like... lets see here.... UmMM i CAN use the attacking lunar thing still. Cause whole jealous thing they didnt understnad their own thoughtS (THEY THOUGHT MONTY WAS THEIR PARENT WHICH LIKE??? a stretch honestly. cmon we know this. theyre definitely making their own excuses) iDK ABOUT attacking earth, cause by that point everyone is kinda dead set on murdering them its actually pretty bad by that point unless KC comes back jesus style and goes 'NO. I'll handle this' proceeds to drag bloodmoon off into the desert for family bonding time (and rehabilitation.) Which he wont but we also gotta remember Bloodmoon is deliberately being used a scapegoat (despite yknow... he did DO all that by his volition still like he WOULD NOT have gone after kc like that if not for ruin going 'hey u wanna see ur dad who totoally didnt care for ur ass' or 'you should totally go kill a bunch of people. and then threaten lunar and earth BUT WAIT no killing ill shock u!' im losing focus but THEY WERE... sort of going somewhere with Bloodmoon not wanting to be a tool. AND having solar interfere (I still hate that whole 'he reminds me of my moon thus he must die'. Retcons... everywhere. Remember when he wanted to save his moon?? yeah? cool cause ill never forget that actually.) KC dying actually WOULDNT have been so bad (aside the... suddenly being an ass about it. But he was direct to bloodmoon about 'BRUH UR BEING USED.' and them never actually... bringing that up too much) angering BM enough to kill KC is actually pretty solid way to use the whole 'Bm not satisfied with Killing' as a very direct way KC's words last on BM especially BM's whole unstable emotions of NOT understanding the feelings theyre going through because of that other than anger (denial, grief, confusion and conflict of how Hurt that mustve been they wanted more family) oh this is getting long and im losing focus.

I have some Thoughts on Evangelion, and I'm hyperfixating right now, so here's a massive info-dump on it. Thank you and I'm sorry.

(trigger warnings for: child abuse, child death, gore mention, pedophilia, mental health, depression, suicide, and potentially more.)

So, my take on the End Of Evangelion is like a 'Worst Timeline AU.' So what would've happened if Shinji had given into the crippling (justified) trauma and deepest depression of an abused, manipulated, and unfathomably damaged child soldier.

The way Misato constantly screams at him throughout the entire series to 'be a man' and pressures him to get into the EVA and fight literal biblical, kaiju-like angels.

The pressure of trying and failing to get a crumb of praise or approval from his neglectful and spiteful father.

The way people (and fans, tbh) get upset with him for constantly changing his mind. How if he doesn't pilot the EVA, either he or his friends could die. The pressure every adult puts on him. Or again, the absolute cosmic terror of just seeing—let alone having to murder these angels.

Of course, he quits all the time, he's 14. He's a child. An average adult with all the combat training in the world would easily do the same.

Yet he comes back again and again, because of the guilt, the self-loathing, the manipulation of the adults around him—

(who can have all the greatest intentions in the world, "the greater good", etc etc, and it doesn't change a goddamn thing that they are putting these children into death machines and treating it like if they dont do it they are selfish and worthless)

—that if he doesn't do it, his friends will do it and either they or others will die if it's not him.

Like, the point isn't that he can't make up his mind: it's the fact that even if he "gives up", he still keeps coming back, and putting himself before others, despite the grief, despite the pain, despite the trauma

A fourteen-year-old child refuses to stop getting up and trying. Which I feel is symbolic of the whole shows entire meaning, no matter how dark things are, how much you hurt, how much others hurt you, how you feel like nothing, and you want it all to just stop—the pain, the memories, the guilt, the crushing weight of complete utter depression—even as the darkest envelops you and holds you tight, you feel like you can never escape: there is ALWAYS a way out of it.

It's fucking hard, you will lose yourself in it, you will hurt so, so much—but eventually you can find your way out. Through time, through loved ones, through therapy, and more. It's never too late or someone is too far gone in their own despair that they can't be saved and brought back.

And that's not even mentioning the other children. Fans enjoy Asuka more than Shinji because she's got that quick, snappy, high-energy personality. She's overly proud and stubborn, and she loves to fight in her EVA. And Rei, she's the shy quiet girl (a Kuudere, even (didnt like writing that)) designed to be mysterious, and to speculate over. Who is she? Why is she so calm? Does she have a personality behind that demeanor?

But, just like Shinji, they are all child soldiers, and like him, they are products of trauma and manipulation by adults.

Rei, was made in a fool-hearted attempt to bring back Shinji's mother, Yui Ikari, by combining her remains with Lilith. What they got was Rei. An assimilation of Yui, Lilith, Eva, all combining into Rei Ayanami.

Her creators obviously had attachments to her, both having loved Yui before her death, and Gendo Ikari almost took her on as a daughter-like figure (Rei being the name he would've given to his child Shinji, if he had been born a girl,) and revoltingly even more than that.

But as the theme of the series goes, good intentions from adults mean very little, and often act as nothing more than an excuse for creating/doing inconceivably monstrous acts.

She is of course used as an EVA pilot, being able to manipulate her form into a 14-year-old. She is used as a tool. She is replaceable. She knows this. She has no desires because no one has ever cared enough about Rei as her own person to let her think for herself, asked her what she wants, her likes, her dreams, her fears.

Rei's entire existence at this point is to serve, and in an eerie way, the only thing she wants is to serve Gendo, because he's shown her the only breadcrumbs of "compassion" she's ever known.

And then Shinji comes along. Shinji has no idea what she is, only that she is another EVA pilot like himself. He speaks to her as he would anyone else. He cares about her, and her well-being as another person. Actual true compassion.

In episode 06, when Rei is hurt and thought to have died by Shinji, he pries open the hatch to her EVA, ignoring the scalding heat that burns his hands to do so. He finds her alive and cries, and she smiles for him.

This scene is an exact parallel that takes place before with Rei and Gendo (Shinji's father.) He pries open the hatch, scalding his hands too, and finds her alive inside. It's identical except for one thing: Compassion.

Shinji fights to free and help Rei, and when he sees her alive, he is overcome with relief that she, Rei, is alive. He is in tears, he tells her she isn't nothing, implying her life is worth something and people care about her.

When Gendo does it, he does it like a man trying to save a valuable asset. He sees she's okay, and mutters 'I see', and that's the end of it.

Again, in episode 23, when Rei actually dies and is replaced; she is confronted by herself (the Meta Rei, the Rei in her purest, most godly self. A combination of all her sense of beings,) and realizes that she is feeling, she is lonely, she is suffering, and for the first time she cries, and asks herself if this just for her love of Gendo, before sacrificing herself in death to save everyone—specifically shinji.

She is replaced by her many clones, but this time she regains some of her memories, her feelings, her anger, and she is more human now, less vessel, more soul. She is Rei.

In the End of Evangelion, we see the depths of Gendo's depravity. He wants his wife, Yui, back as she was, of course. But in the meanwhile, there's Rei. Rei who is part Yui—a substitute. He touches her breast, an attempt to merge with her, and moves his hand down further to rest between her hips, inside her.

Rei is as much his daughter figure and a child, as she is a part of his own wife, and arises from this: an Oedipus Complex. Gendo treats her as a disposable tool, yet holds Yui at his highest priority. She is his to do with as she likes. How many times has he used her like this? How many times has he committed these atrocities with this child behind closed doors?

Amongst everything else Rei is, she is also a victim of pedophilia.

And in her final moments, while he attempts to merge with Rei in a delusional attempt to bring back Yui, Rei becomes her own being. Rei puts her foot down and says no. She's had enough.

"I will not be a puppet for you to control."

She takes the hand of Adam, fully merges with Lilith, and becomes a God.

And what does she do with all that power? She takes it all, and gives it to Shinji. The one person that ever consistently showed her care and compassion, showed her love. Made her realize she is her own person, gives her the strength to realize her worth and refuse Gendo Ikari, and choose her own path.

Her choice can be argued as good or bad, both. But in the end it was REI's choice, and no one elses.

Asuka uses her anger and her fighting as a means to cope with a barbaric childhood. Her mother, Kyoko, underwent a Contact Experiment when Asuka would have been ~5 years old.

Kyoko survived, but lost her mind completely, thinking her real daughter was actually a doll, and leaving Asuka completely neglected by her mother, all whilst begging and trying to convince her that SHE was her real daughter, not some doll she clung to.

Meanwhile, her father was completely unaffected by this, and even had moved on with another woman (An affair that had been going on before Kyoko fell apart completely, the woman being Kyoto's doctor, that she knew about, and took place in their own home while both mother and daughter were present.) Throwing himself back into his own life with this new woman, and job, Asuka was left with nothing.

Asuka's mother finally snaps and plans her own suicide. She invites Asuka, and with nothing else and wanting nothing more than to be acknowledged by anyone, agrees to take their lives together.

As if all of this isn't bad enough, as a final blow, Asuka's mother takes her own life without Asuka, leaving a five-year-old CHILD to find her mother hanging lifelessly, betrayed and alone again.

Her entire personality isn't because she's 'cool' or 'bossy', its an unfathomably traumatized child, constantly in pain and unable to trust anyone, because she has been taught as an infant that she can not rely on the people meant to care for her, because her parents taught her that in the most brutal and disturbing way possible.

There's even reference to her trying to repeat her mother's suicide after disappearing from the fight, only to be found gravely injured and withering away in a bathtub.

She fights so hard to be independent because she refuses to let herself be hurt and abandoned again.

At the End of Evangelion, even when she is screaming and crying, bleeding to death after being speared through the eye, losing power, and being cannibalized alive in her EVA, she is still so desperate, so angry, that she refuses to die, swearing vengeance on her enemies through dying rattled breaths, and it isn't until she is bombarded with blades that she finally succumbs. And at the hands of NERV.

Again, she, and every single EVA pilot, is only 14 years old.

tldr: The series is about child trauma, children being turned into soldiers, the failings of adults around them, and the tragically brutal and real aftermath of the wreaks of havoc that would have on a child.

after writing it all down, i realized it's not just what's missing but also what's broken, inconsistent and shallow about Halsin, hopefully that still answers your question :)

his backstory in the underdark comes out of nowhere and is never again brought up!! it is, in fact, brushed off as just some silly goofy thing that happened to him once!! hihi haha i was a sex slave for two years. im so embarrased to tell you this, tav haha anyways how about round two with the twins ??? while im standing speechless mouth agape struggling to process the story he just told me. to say it was written and handled poorly is putting it mildly

he is shown to be a shrewd person (with his francesca choice for the new archdruid back in emerald grove) so expand on that! show that he's more than just a pile of muscles! show me he's cunning and has bite! there's so much political intrigue in act 3, have him comment on it, on gortash's plan, have Halsin compare it to some other people/events that happened in the past and how they mirror what's currently happening in baldur's gate, my dude is 3 50, he's seen some shit im sure, even living in the forest the news would reach him so no excuses

he's so closely tied to act 2 i have no clue why he's locked off as a companion till you find daniel (which on my first playthrough was just before attack on moonrise, that almost made my blood boil bc not even 2 hours later orin snatched him up??? and i was like?? ok?? she took who? i barely know the guy?). i think he's too tight-lipped about what happened all those years ago with the shadowcurse and i would have loved to hear more about it (like the implication of him killing isobel and the conflict with the thorms)

I need him to be the biology/nature expert equivalent to Gale with his weave expertise. he should have more to say about the worms!! he should be studying you under the microscope the entire game!!!! literally bring back all the missing EA halsin dialogue!! i should be able to drag his ass into the underdark!!! I WANT HIS KNOWLEDGE! I WANT IT TO BRING BACK BAD MEMORIES! expand on drows and their culture in this game by using halsin as the conduit that tells you everything he learned from spending his time here!! so maybe that info dump in act 3 about him being a slave wouldn't come out of nowhere

i refuse to believe he'd have nothing to say about the elder brain after seeing it. i want him to be absolutely repulsed, terrified but also intrugied by the mindflayer colony under moonrise, i want him to cautiously study every nook and cranny there and offer his insight

absolutely baffled he won't say anything to that one dragonborn druid back in baldur's gate that is trying to keep a tree alive???? for all his distain for the cities he sure is quiet here, seeing nature failing in the middle of it while a guy is desprately trying to keep it alive. maybe make it so these two actually manage to turn this spot into something more beautiful, a lush tree in the middle of a concrete road that attracts people who come over to relax in its shade

if they bring up his hatred of the city life, why not let me turn him into a full on shadow druid (which is already hinted on during one of the conversations with him in act 3), kind of how you can keep shadowheart a shar worshipper or steer her toward selune. plant some seeds of his loathing back in act 2, how nature had to be sacrificed because people had delusions of grandure (the elder brain plot and the thorms) etc

besides wanting to cure the shadowcurse and enjoying whittling there's nothing more to this guy. after the curse is lifted all he's got are the ducks.............. once he'll mention he doesn't like the city life. okay, you've been on this earth good 350 years, my guy, you know how cities are don't act surprised

an alternative ending is missing, you should be able to go with him

personally, i think his personality is missing because he is too flat and frankly, boring. he is too agreeable even if you're a meanie to others. just as long as you don't kill innocents he's a ride or die. it's not his fault of course, he's just badly written, too surface level. which is a terrible shame bc i'm so in love with him but i'd like to fall for his personality too. once there's a fleshed out one. so it's quite hard to speculate on what's missing about a guy there's barely any information on in-game tho :'(

first the elephant in the room as Caine’s #1 fan yep still his number one fan! Serial Designation N killed tons of people yet nobody in the fandom cares, and Caine doesn’t get people well so he had no ill intention. rlly my opinion of him has not changed he’s still my silly lil goober no matter what he does. i’ve always known he will do horrible things and been expecting this to happen ever since Pomni gave the idea to bring him to the circus. Gummigoo had a sir pentious like death so i wouldn’t be surprised if we see him again.

I know I ask a lot about August but I’d actually like ask about your aroace donnie hc. Like how he figured that out about himself and all that. Honestly a lot of people I see with that headcanon for him just hc that because that interpret him as mean and unemotional which is wrong for just all kinds of reasons. But you always portray the kind and loving side of him. That boy loves with his whole heart and its just so refreshing to see. I was also wondering if you have headcanons for the rest of the main cast.

OOOOHHHHHOOHOOHOO YOU HAVE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD: AROACE INFO-DUMP COMBINED WITH DONNIE FIXATION. A BOLD MOVE. BUCKLE IN, DUDE. /positive Aroace Donnie is a REALLY special headcanon for me. Part of that is identifying as aroace myself and getting enjoyment from portraying that in a favorite character, but most of it is just genuinely getting the vibes from Donnie. Because being aroace doesn't necessarily mean lacking love altogether, or being incapable of loving, it's defined by the lacking of the ATTRACTION part. There's usually theoretical love to give but no target to hit with it. The way you talk about it gives me the sense you know that already though ;w; 💓 But what a bummer to think people equate being aroace with being unemotional. Some of the kindest and most loving people I know are aro/ace. ;-; </3

As for Donnie figuring himself out, I imagine he took it all from a very logical standpoint. It's one thing to crush on a fictional character or the concept of someone and another thing entirely to feel that way about a real individual in a non-fictional scenario. Even if he could find people who, by all accounts, were his 'type', logic would get in the way of taking action. "Our interests are too different" "I'm not THEIR type" "I'm not ready to commit" "I don't like this and that about them so it wouldn't work" "Eh, the, quote 'spark' unquote, isn't there." "I am simply too mature to be hung up on this romance nonsense" "I just haven't met the right person yet" "I just don't feel like I need a partner right now" "why is everyone so obsessed with this?" "Sex and romance sells, that's why it's pushed in media, not because people are ACTUALLY /THAT/ possessed by it. That would be lunacy." "I'm too busy to devote energy and time to dating right now" "There are more important things" "I don't need another person to feel whole - that's ridiculous - I'm whole on my own" - just a growing list of cerebral excuses to put the whole romance thing off until "later" again and again, or to explain away why he hasn't "found" love yet. None of the stories he told himself were UNtrue so he carries on without realizing the drive that everyone else seems to feel isn't within him, because he's come up with a million reasons WHY he wouldn't feel it yet to begin with. He doesn't realize other people DO still feel romantically and sexually about others DESPITE being 'busy' or 'mature' or not being the other person's type. He's baffled to discover people feel compelled to date or be intimate with people they don't even know. Based on what? Appearance? A vibe? Simply because they're there? It's illogical. It's maddening. What is WRONG with people? Until he steps back and realizes he's the outlier. It's not unusual that others are obsessed with love, it's unusual that he ISN'T. But he's had crushes before, hasn't he? Atomic Lass? A fictional character. What about real people? Well, yes, he HAD crushed on someone in the past but, when he REALLY thought about it, he didn't actually want to date or be intimate with them, he just liked spending time with them and wanted to be important/special to them. He wasn't Attracted with a capital A. He also didn't have the word for a squish at the time. Alright well let's test this another way. Who would he WANT to actually date? To kiss and devote himself to that he knows? SURELY there must be someone.......There's no one. He SUPPOSES if he HAD to choose then XYZ is...passable, but he still doesn't FEEL attracted to them. The excuses from before come back. Everyone keeps saying the right person will come around. The more he hears it, the more it stings that he hasn’t found this right person but maybe he really just hasn't met them yet. But not meeting "the right person" doesn't change the fact that, across the course of his entire life thus far, there has Never been a person he desired intimacy with specifically. After a great deal of rumination, Donnie realizes his excuses aren't excuses, they're his reality. There are no people in his life he desires. There are no celebrities he desires. There are no randoms on the street or acquaintances he desires. No interest in flings or daydreaming about a friend or ogling a body with intent. Donnie doesn't feel desire for anyone. It's a lonely feeling. But Donnie's smart and capable. His excuses don't have to be excuses, they can just be, well, facts. That doesn't mean he can’t carry on though and, if the right opportunity arises, find his own way of loving and being loved despite his current reality. If anyone can do that, Donatello Hamato can. (Side note: I love the idea of Donnie being so roadblocked by his excuse that he never bothers with or gets around to dating even into adulthood. Not dating does not devalue the truth of your personal identity).

Ultimately however: Donnie scrolling through the internet as a teen, researching his bros' romantic leans to better understand how to support them, and having a "THAT'S A REAL THING?? THERE'S A WORD FOR IT????" when he first stumbles across info on the aro/ace label. “Alright yeah, that tracks. 😑”

I honestly not-so-secretly headcanon every TMNT turtle from every iteration as some variant under the aroace umbrella. x'D It's partly a comfort choice but more so it’s because of the vibes I get from them. Even when they're shown desiring someone in canon it's felt forced or out of character somehow to me. Of course that doesn’t mean they can’t be in relationships or that I don’t enjoy the ones that are handled well! They just don’t come across fully allo to me. As for Rise specifically! 👀✨ 💙 Leo I tag as grayace/greyromantic bi. That boy ain't never been straight a day in his life. ❤️ Raph feels super classic aroace straight. 🧡 Mikey pan demisexual/alloromantic (or demiromantic?). 💜 Donnie asexual demiromantic. I think if he had the opportunity to really bond with the right person, it could spark something in him the way a stranger or acquaintance would not. Knowledge unlocking love feels VERY Donald A Tello to me.

ANYWAY. This got majorly long and I’ve been picking at it on and off for a few days. Thank you for appreciating how I interpret Donnie! I always hope I’m doing it in a way that feels believable to his canon. ;w;💓

Random Thoughts on the First 3 Episodes of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies

This is a FUN show.

So far I’ve liked all the music. I didn’t think I was going to like the song about the country club but darn it if I wasn’t like this is a catchy song about how terrible you all are. 🤣

I’m loving the increase in diversity that’s going on in general in tv world (although I’d love to see more characters with disabilities in media, but we’re getting more than we used to with shows like Speechless and As We See It).

That said...I think there’s two ways to handle diversity successfully in historical fiction. 1) Go the Bridgerton route - mention it, but don’t make it a major theme. 2) Make it a major theme and handle it satisfactorily - either in a realistic way or in a way that gets resolved suitably.

In these first episodes, a major theme has been Jane and her family acclimating to Rydell and community. Her mom specifically has worries about it being found out that she’s Puerto Rican. I feel like this is very period typical and an accurate representation as frustrating as it is to watch someone who doesn’t feel free to accept and rejoice in their cultural heritage. I love that Jane wants to fight back against all that, but in the last episode - I was kind of disappointed how the whole thing got resolved. She sings a song in the diner and bada bing, bada boom her mom's suddenly OK with it all. Felt a bit quick and sloppy of a fix. But this show is about Jane and not her mom’s trauma. Overall, it’s not a big deal for me. I just was slightly irked by the sloppiness of the resolution.

Olivia - The most intriguing of the Pink Ladies so far for me. We’ve got a sliver of her backstory with the teacher, but outside of that we don’t know much about her yet. Plus I want to know was she in a full on relationship with this guy or did they kiss that once and got caught?

Nancy - Another character we need more info on. I like her general don’t give an F attitude, but I’d love to see more of her deeper thoughts and emotions. We’ve got a hint at that with how much she deeply cares about college and getting into fashion, but I’d like more.

Jane - This actress is my favorite singer on the show. Her “I Want More” song is my favorite song thus far. I know she’s the main character and that’s why we know more about her. But honestly she’s not all that interesting and I wish some of her screen time was given to the other girls.

Cynthia - She had a good storyline this episode. I felt it was a bit rushed, but I think drama is a great fit for this character and Principal McGee knew exactly what she was doing.

Hazel - She was introduced this episode and we got to know a little bit about her. I do feel for her and how homesick she is. I have and always will be here for the wallflower/shy girl trope.

Richie - Things are still kind of surface level with him, but right now he’s kind of a meh character for me. I like him well enough but the show’s writing hasn’t really developed him enough for me to care about him yet.

Buddy - Likely unpopular opinion here...I don’t hate him? At least not yet. I think he’s treated Jane terribly, but I see redemptive qualities in him. The fact he feels guilt, has some sense of self-reflection, and is uncomfortable with his choices shows me we could be in for a good character arc with him.

So that end scene, right? Totally seems to be foreshadowing a Hazel/Buddy romance. How would I feel if they went down that route? It depends on the chemistry of the couple. In fictional TV land, I can excuse a lot of misbehavior (even murder) if the couple is 🔥. Rio and Beth, anyone? That was a toxic dump of a relationship but watch me with my 👀 glued every week.

This show is very much love it or hate it. I think the people that are hating on it were hoping it would be an extension of the original Grease and while it gives nods to the original content - it’s its own entity.

I know leftist antisemitism is alive and well, I know Jewish perspectives/experiences/identities are not valued, and I know there’s a load of misinformation out there when it comes to the conflict (though honestly, I don’t trust info from any side because everything is propaganda at this point). But I listened to a podcast episode (Joyous Justice - a Jewish racial justice podcast hosted by a Black & Cherokee Jew) that was a bit of a gentle kick in the pants.

To summarize some of the key thoughts: There is antisemitism in lefty spaces because there is antisemitism EVERYWHERE - and racism, sexism, transphobia, classism, ableism, and the like. Leftists are not immune to these things. And so when someone like me says “well I’m not going to engage with some progressive cause because I’m bothered by the antisemitism” it’s like, anyone else of another marginalized identity could have the same excuse for not participating because they will inevitably run into someone who is being shitty about their identity. It’s good that we have ways to process these harmful experiences, and we should try to hold people accountable, but it’s not a good idea for our self-defensiveness to stop us completely from engaging.

I’m not solidly feeling any of this right now, but I am trying to sit with it in the discomfort.

Look, I definitely see where you're coming from and where this podcaster was coming from at least in theory, but I don't agree.

Leftists absolutely have all the same problems any other group has, and obviously we all have to work on our biases and movements all the time to try and root these things out.

This is different and goes beyond that though, because the brand of anti-Zionism that is mainstream amongst American goyische leftist movements and individuals is deeply antisemitic as a part of the cause. Anti-Zionism as an intra-Jewish discussion need not be [internalized] antisemitism, and there are plenty of ways that one can critique specific actions of the Israeli government that are proportionate, fair, and necessary (yes, even as an outsider.)

However, calls for the literal dissolution of the entire country without a thought or care for the safety and well-being of the affected Jews or the Jewish people as a whole, combined with a deep suspicion (and frequently outright hostility) towards Jews who bring up antisemitism (especially as it pertains to rhetoric around Israel) and then adding your regular run-of-the-mill antisemitism on top, are common and accepted in leftist spaces. In short: antisemitism isn't just one unfortunate pimple amongst many other expected blemishes on the face of modern leftism - it's actually frequently taken up as one of the causes of leftism. This form of antisemitism is seen as social justice, and so arguing against it is seen not for what it is (begging for people to add even a little nuance and critically examine a belief system that leads them to call for the genocide of half the Jewish population worldwide) but rather as arguing for whatever terrible thing they want to paint Israel as this week, whether or not it's true and whether or not such a label could just as easily be applied to groups and nations that they will give a pass to.

Meanwhile, most of the goyim arguing in support* of Israel are frequently right-wing conservatives whose other views on human rights and moral progress I find rather repugnant and who frequently utilize standard conservative talking points about Israel's more strident critics to attack them on other levels. For example, I cringe basically any time I see any right-wing critique of, say, the very real antisemitism of Cori Bush or Rashida Tlaib, because I just know it's gonna be racist as hell.

(The * is because I don't honestly classify a lot of this as support for the Jews, so much as a handy vehicle for their anti-Arab racism, Islamophobia, and unfair painting of all Palestinians and/or Palestinian rights movements as terrorism. I would also be remiss if I didn't say that the same is frequently true of certain batches of leftists whose anti-Zionism is more of a handy vehicle for antisemitism than genuine, thoughtful, and helpful advocacy for Palestinians.)

But there are some conservative voices that do have genuine support for Jews and are pro-Israel in a way that is more nuanced and doesn't just use it as a tactic. And when I see that, and especially when I hold it up next to leftist comrades who would never in a million years advocate for policies that would wipe out half the world population of another minority group but will happily repeat those talking points against Jews as if it were a social justice cause, it makes me question the validity of everything else they're saying.

And so I re-run that calculus on every social issue I'm passionate about, to see if maybe I'm on the wrong side of it, and every time I conclude I'm still very much not. So then I go back to the drawing board and reconsider Jewish history, identity, and peoplehood, and the conclusions I've come to about Zionism from those things, only to return to the same position I was in before. I've heard the arguments. I've actively sought out and considered the other side on this issue, hoping to understand something new, and each new source I read solidifies my opinion.

So then I'm stuck with concluding that my best option is to seek out like-minded Jews and when outside allies or work is needed, just kinda go into it accepting that a significant portion of the people I'm necessarily aligning myself with for other important causes would likely leave me and mine for dead under the right circumstances, and view that as good and right and just.

And while I don't let that change my voting behavior or advocacy at a practical level, it also doesn't change the fact that it fucking hurts and that I'm morally right to be angry about it.

OKAY PERHAPS I AM READING TOO MUCH INTO THIS FUNKY SHORT STORY, but nonetheless I'm going to talk about this!!

It's clear that Corvus serves as an amazing member and a potential father figure for Ezran. He's stuck by them and he's served the king from the very start, so it's pretty obvious that Ezran would have to trust Corvus.

BUT BUT BUT Soren, who suggested Corvus to be a part of the crown guard, most likely sprinkled this in-- because Corvus already knows that Ezran trusts him. Why would Soren tell Corvus something he already knows?

If Soren is using Ezran to be the main focus of the reason why he wants Corvus to be a part of the crown guard-- and is basically using Ezran as an excuse to do so-- at the end of the day, it's just Soren who wants Corvus to join himself. Even though Ezran does trust Corvus, that's not the main focus to why Soren asked Corvus to join.

SO ON THESE STANDARDS, if in this circumstance Soren is using "Prince Ezran" as a cover-up, he's basically saying,

"I really like you. I trust you. And trust is really important, especially now, with... everything. So--"

Whether or not this is interpreted as romantic or platonic, it's made clear that Soren truly trusts Corvus either way which AUDHIDFHDKDJJSJD???<333

Soren in this time is probably in the starting stages of recovering from everything that happened in The Final Battle. His trust in Corvus is a sign that he's still willing to let his guard down because he genuinely thinks Corvus is a good man.

Soren's been through some of the most terrible things in such a short amount of time. He had to find out his father was a villain on his own, he lost someone that he revolved his aspirations around, he had to be the one to initiate the goodbye with his sister, he lost everyone in his family, and yet HE STILL tries to smile

And Corvus is the first person post!s3 to notice this. Despite their reluctance to get along in previous seasons, Corvus, an analyzing, independent, head-strong man cares a lot about Soren. Even if he doesn't realize it, that care is still there, and that is so genuine-- and that leads Soren into deciding to trust Corvus.

IN PREVIOUS SEASONS most of his jokes were dismissed by people who weren't Claudia a good 99 percent of the time.

BUT NOW BUT NOW Soren is literally casually beaming over the fact that Corvus asked "soup or salad," AND CORVUS SMILES TOO?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT IS SO SWEET

LIKE WE HAVE YET TO SEE CORVUS SMILE AT SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND IT'S SO EARNEST

Soren's able to trust someone after losing it in the people he loved the most. Corvus is perceptive and able to tell that something is off at one glance. Soren makes Corvus feel wanted, and Corvus rolls along with it because he cares right back.

OFC!! This took a while D: finals are coming up and my teachers are working me to the bone. I did an info dump on the bros a bit ago so I’m just going to add on. Prep for finals is murdering me tbh

cal drives him and his brother home and the car ride is just. really quiet. Oliver doesn't really know what to say and cal just looks like he's going to throw up the entire time. they stop at a gas station where cal wordlessly tosses olly a change of clothes from the trunk and gestures to the bathroom while still looking vaguely ill. they get home and Oliver brushes off his parents with an excuse because he doesn't want to explain anything at the moment.

he takes a long shower, then collapses into bed, thinking hard about what had happened. his injuries are healed -- something he didnt notice until he got home and he feels relatively fine despite spending hours in what he thought was acid. he begisn to form his own conclusions.

Meanwhile, cal sits down in the kitchen with Ethel and Kane and just spills. everything. his hands are trembling, he can't look up at them, and it takes him a while to get through it all. he expects them to grab a gun and level it at his head or something because he's a monster.

they don't. instead they look at him for a long while, go to their room to talk for a couple of hours before coming out. they thank him for saving olly and cal just wants to rip his skin off. he's a monster, why can't they see that? he doesn't deserve having people who are so kind and forgiving and understanding loving him, he's not worthy enough to be their son.

they're an old couple, and they've lived in this town long enough to know that there are some super natural elements to their environment. Oliver tries to talk to cal in the next few days but cal just stays silent most of the time, thinking.

then, in the middle of the night, he leaves. takes all of his important belongings, some clothes, and necessities and packs it all up in his car. no note or anything regarding his disappearance. he goes to his parent's room to say goodbye, then does the same for Oliver.

he's say goodbye before leaving for good, but Oliver wakes up first. they talk, it turns into an argument about cal running away, cal finally breaking down and telling Oliver that he's terrified that the whole "cannibalism" thing will happen again and while Oliver was fine the first time, it might not be the case for the potential next. he feels like he doesn't know himself or what he could do and the thought of hurting someone makes him feel sick to his stomach.

Oliver protests by saying that he was safe, his injuries were even healed up inside. callisto reluctantly tells Oliver that he will come back eventually but he still feels the need to leave to at least try to figure out what all of this means. Oliver forces him to promise and he agrees.

Still in this, never giving up.

This coming week or two is going to be really difficult to manage my food/exercise routine for many reasons including I move states in two days and an array of family issues, so I’m coming on here to update, form a plan, and dump some info to use as future reference and keep me on track down the line.

First up, steps:A lot of this week I will spend either, packing, in a car, or saying goodbye. So it’s fair to say this week I won’t be able to hit the mark each day. This would be a huge problem if I was able to, and just didn’t want to and was choosing not to anyway, but I’m still in the mindset and will pick up on my steps whenever I am able, so no worries on that.

Second, food intake: this is going to be crucial considering I won’t be able to move much this week. I’ve identified a huge binge trigger for myself recently and I think from here on, as long as I strictly say away from foods that are un-portioned/ un-countable cals, I think I’ll be fine.

And since I’ll have lots of time in the car, it could go one of two ways, sitting for hours stuffing my face, or, using car sickness as an excuse to fast for many hours along the way. I just gotta be smart about this, so I don’t want to be eating a whole lot in the car.

And finally, the plan for when I get there: where I’m moving to, we will be staying with another family/ our extended family, and their area will be near the kitchen. In order to give them as much space as possible, I think I’ll avoid the kitchen. And by doing this, I’ll be automatically eating less in the process. I’ll also be able to walk significantly more there since the weather is a lot warmer there, but no more in-door pacing because I’ll have less privacy to do so. So it will be a trade off.

I think my avoidance of the kitchen will be a huge factor and help in my wl because the last time I was at my sk!nnist, it was because of a similar situation where I had avoided being around an area with food for a reason other than food. And I see my past with binging completely going away once I live there because I cannot imagine doing that infront of two families of people that would be disgusting and humiliating so I think I’ll accidentally pick up a lot of healthier/ better food habits after this move that will really help towards my wl.

Game plan this week

I’ll update here how things are going for me to use as reference

I’ll start back up in using my cal app

I’ll strictly avoid triggers/ uncountable cal/ un-portionable foods from here on out

I’ll give myself grace on the steps thing but pick up where I left off as soon as I’m able

And as long as I do these things, I’ll be ok.
