Absolutely nothing made Donnie want to clone himself! 😆 He had zero desire to clone himself. And parenthood had never been on his radar outside of caring for his robot creations. August was just an unexpected, accidental, kind-of-miraculous-it-even-happened, byproduct of a mystic-alchemical side project Donnie was working on. She started from cells, so Donnie wasn’t even entirely certain what he was dealing with when the reaction that sparked her first happened. Realization she was a clone came later. Genuine acknowledgment of the situation’s reality and gravity came even later than that. He spent a LOT of time and energy debating how to progress with her once he admitted the truth of the whole situation to himself. And his decision to keep her wasn’t (initially) one hundred percent altruistic (or maybe he convinced himself it wasn’t because he was scared of the alarmingly ooey gooey emotions he got from imagining potential future parenthood. Super bad for his emotionally unavailable badboy image, ya know). He was by no means ready to be a father, but his feelings radically changed the more attached he grew to his funky little mutated clone. ;w;
