My next few fanfic posts are looking some like this;
[Unnamed title]- it’s a John-117 x Reader
Gentle Touches- 2.4
Valentine’s Day Headcanons [Red Team]
I’m thinking of asking for requests here soon, cause I would love to write out some ideas I’ve seen. I’m also working on a Naomi fanfic but that might get delayed cause I’m lowkey brain dead on that one and I feel like I need to finish the books first. Art wise, I’m trying to finish my second halo character, Lana [who somehow become cousins with Raya in my head.] and working on a full body piece for Nova as well as a portrait of Naomi.

In my head i always saw a young chargestep—oro and Julia as aggressive girl/ aggressive girl (but just a little more subtle). So I feel like Orellia and Julia butted heads a lot. And i don’t think it improved at all once they started making out on the daily. If anything it really was a ‘Im not flustered at all’ here let me prove it! Battle from both of them 💀
However, because of this I do think think Julia would just let Orellia be the one in charge post HB because she’s got the whole thought process that sidestep is made out of glass now🙄 Orellia would like the stepping down of power but not the reason for it—which adds friction that Julia would be confused by. ‘Girl I’m literally letting you be in charge???? What’s the issue now?’
But i also think Julia would not be so submissive to Blue Jay. Which is something Orellia would enjoy—I think it would be like taking a step back in time for both the girls (or boy and girl 🙄 watev)
Can you tell IVE obsessed over these girls relationship?

Gooseberry's parents, Goose and Radiant (I know I spelled it wrong). They were alive almost 200 years ago so Radiant was able to read and write and was a traveling merchant. Goose was banished from the Ice Kingdom for a reason I haven't decided yet and on his travels met Radiant and it was love at first highway robbery. They loved each other deeply and they only ever had one child, Gooseberry. After a few decades of traveling as merchants, they got old and settled in the rainforest, and surprisingly Goose didn't mind the heat. Eventually they both did pass and Gooseberry later left the rainforest again to travel and sell paintings before returning later when she got old herself. Overall a very sweet, peaceful family.
And Gooseberry for refrence

Hello! I'm also currently in the broom closet, but I was wondering, what's your favorite kind of witchcraft? I personally love divination and deity work.
Hello there, I love myself a good witchy ask!
My personal favorite kind of witchcraft are sigil magic and divination.
I like sigil magic because of how versatile it is: t's use in spell jars, carving them into candles/soaps or just on their own.
My favorite part of sigil magic is being able to create one, it's nice to have some creative freedom over how they look.
My second favorite is divination. More specifically tarot and osteomancy. I don't have an actual tarot deck, so I use playing cards. So technically I do cartomancy.
I love my osteomancy set too as it has a good chunk of seashells in it.
Sorry if this is kinda long, but you asked!

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at
Tumblr media
but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.
When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.
What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.

a concerning amount of witchblr will be like "um actually new years was stolen by europeans from the ancient god scroobus mcdoobus" and then you actually try to research scroobus mcdoobus and it turns out he was invented in the 1940s by a conspiracy theorist who powdered every meal with ketamine and thinks that queer people are reincarnated fish

New idea: instead of writing the fic, you come over to my house and I tell you the entire plot while I pace my tiny kitchen. There’s a cup of tea, warm in your hands. The words don’t stop and the affection never leaves your expression.

every now and then i will have a thought about the 70s and then spontaneously combust into a thousand fla[gets dragged away by security]
#chicano was originally a slur towards mexican americans but was reclaimed during the 60s-70s during the california strikes#back then students were also mostly just taught about white history (or black if they were lucky) but never their own#so protests and calls to learn their own history was made which also resulted in heavy pride within themselves#you'll also see a lot of indigenous pride when it comes to the chicano movement back in the day#especially if you look at the murals which have a lot of inspiration derived from mexican catholicism and indigenous imagery#(which is a little ironic to me considering mexico doesn't exactly treat their indigenous population well but i digress 🫠🫠)#then we also have chicano park which is also one of the biggest icons of chicano history#it was built back in the 60s but split up a neighorhood-- the government promised to build a park to compensate but eventually the folks li#-ing there found out they were going to turn it into a patrol station instead and protested in 1970#eventually chicano park was built and after it opened a shit ton of murals came up because at the time there was the chicano mural movement#and a muralist proposed letting others paint on the walls since a lot of the structures built happened to be pretty good canvases#this is all kinda basic history and you could easily look most of this up lmao#i just like rambling#anyways thats my time folks security is eyeing me like they're about to ban me okay b[Electric Taser SFX]#pyro screams to the abyss

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

I ❤️ self-loathing characters, characters who struggle with monstrosity (either fearing or embracing it), characters who are so lonely, who have a gaping hole in their chest, who bottle up & repress their feelings, who claw their way up & have ambitions, who fall down & lose everything, who search for identity & purpose yet can’t see themselves outside of what others want from or expect of them, who are hurt & hurt others, who long & grieve, who lie & pretend. characters who are messy & flawed & human

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

so in an attempt to actually use positive thinking, anytime i fuck up and my brain reacts as if ive cause a minor apocalyptic event, i compare my fuck up to the 4 minute fuck up committed by the crew of the uss william d porter.
and only today, as i was having to explain what happened to my mom when i was explaining the whole comparison thing, did i realise that most people dont know about it and ive decided that needs to change because its objectively hilarious.
...which is a weird thing to say about an event that occured on a warship in 1943, specifically november 14th.
see the uss william d porter was a fletcher-class destroyer but you dont need to know what that means, just that she had guns that went bang bang and that she was escorting another ship, the uss iowa, to cairo.
while they were on their way there, they performed some gun trials like testing the anti-aircraft guns or the torpedos. and while they were running a torpedo drill, the crew of the porter managed to fire a live torpedo straight at the iowa which you know, in terms of a list of things to do while escorting a ship, shooting a torpedo at them is not on that list.
especially if the president of the united states is on board.
yeah so fdr was on board and the gun trials were actually his idea, and part of the trials was that they were conducted under radio silence.
and that means the crew of the porter couldnt just call the iowa to be like "move out the way, we accidentally shot a torpedo at you."
but they did have signal lamps and you know, the signalman on board was trained to signal this exact kind of message.
...and uh never mind, the signalman did manage to successfully tell the iowa that a torpedo was coming toward them but wasnt as successful when it came to the direction the torpedo was coming from.
not all hope is lost though because the signalman could still use the signal lamp to correct his previous mistake and-, never mind, he announced that the porter was reversing, which she wasnt.
yeah so at catastrophic mistake number 3, they broke radio silence to warn the iowa and she managed to turn out of the way just in time which meant no one got hurt. and even though the inquiry into the incident led to chief torpedoman (fantastic job title btw) lawton dawson being sentences to hard labour, fdr intervened and waved away his sentence, saying it was all an accident.
but yeah, so thats my new measure for "how much did i really fuck up?" and when i compared accidentally picking up a pencil case without a tag on it in wilko, turns out it was a very minor fuck-up. yes, the cashier had to ask another worker to grab a duplicate so they could scan the barcode, but i didnt nearly kill the president during wartime via accidental friendly fire
