I guess I kind of have a dumb question, where do you find the images you use for your edits? Did you say Getty in your tags?? I’ve gotten into making icons recently (and i have ideas for poetry edits hrrrghhh) but it’s hard to find high res images. Thanks for your time and I hope you have a nice day :)

first of all thank you so much 🥹 and second that’s absolutely not a dumb question!! i do pull a lot of images from getty and i’ll also download pictures from sports articles (i got a lot of the hugheses pictures from online access articles, for example), or sometimes from instagram/facebook/twitter if an account is public. freely admitting that i am not technologically advanced? inclined? in the slightest here, but the image editing software that you use and how you import/export photos with it makes a difference in the quality of them as well!

if you haven’t seen them yet, i would also recommend checking out @simmyfrobby @national-hockey-lesbian @hauntedppgpaints @tapedsleeves @starscelly and @captainbradmarchand’s blogs just off the top of my head!!! they might know more places to get high res images and also i love their work 💕🫶

six programs, seven breakdowns, and about four hours of render troubleshooting later and I finally have a functional god damned animation program ffs

#so many of them are not user friendly at all #even with watching tutorials it was just like #why was this over complicated so badly #why are all the keyboard shortcuts unnecessarily different from every other normal art program on the planet #I tried for many hours to make them all work and it was a solid NOPE #then I find one that's user friendly and works with my brain #just for it to not render for I kid you not #as it literally stated on the error page: Unknown reason #I am now too tired to do what I wanted to do #that bird animation I started and got exhausted by #but hey #the option is here now #and I won't have to export every single individual frame #and move them to another program to work #lets just hope drawings here isn't unnecessarily tedious

Somehow one of my old high school notebooks ended up at goodwill and not only did someone buy it, but they found my phone number and texted me 😬😬😬 which is… not cool, but also they turned out to be nice, so whatever, I guess

#I got this and started kinda freaking out because I had no idea what was in it #and how do people keep finding my phone number???#damn I kinda hate this digital world #anyway I figured out that one of my trash bags got mixed in with my goodwill donations a couple of weeks back #and some goodwill worker actually looked through all the trash and thought ‘yeah someone will buy this old used notebook’#anyway they sent me a pic of a couple of pages and I’m prettttty sure it’s all just dumb highschool stuff for tv broadcasting #but they were nice and it made me feel nostalgic to briefly talk about it with someone so I can’t be too mad #I mean… I dunno #maybe it’s some bored teenager and they find this weird notebook and want to know more about it #not that there’s anything too wild in there #really I vaguely remember flipping through it before tossing it and I don’t remember anything eye catching #if it had anything I really thought was important I probably would have kept it #and it’s about 15 years old so I’m of the mind that it’s aged past my need to worry what’s in it #eventually you get old enough that the stuff you did in your teens feels like someone else’s bullshit #like… 15 years on I’m barely the same person #whatever is embarrassing in there is embarrassing for teen Ian not current Ian #but wow… I really hope they didn’t pay for that #or that they at least got a few laughs out of it #that would actually make up for finding my number #if someone else can even briefly enjoy some of my old dumb stuff then that’s pretty cool #but also… how’d they get my fucking number!?#bleghhhh #for a second I hoped it was one of my old poetry books.#I would love to get one of those back #I used to have so many notebooks of my poetry #but ya know dumb teen-to-twenties Ian had to get all moody and trash them #well… that’s life I guess #ok anyway sorry to bother you #mine #text

#here's some of the classics on that list i have beef with btw:#i have tried to read A Confederacy of Dunces several times and it's funny but it's also so cringe and Ignatius is so obnoxious #that i find it too difficult to finish like i just feel depressed and bad for everybody around him too much #i tried reading Infinite Jest like a decade ago and i got like 200 pages in and i remember thinking it felt like #such a slog the entire time because he's just so gd wordy and also i stopped liking DFW after i heard the abuse allegations against him #frankenstein i didnt read that long ago but i just remember finding it so boring for some reason?? i feel i might need to read it again #dracula ngl i feel like im cheating a bit saying ive completely read it because i loved the beginning and then HATED so much of the rest #the characters were just so boring and melodramatic hahaha i just liked the part where jonathan was doing a travel diary #and trapped in the castle tbh and after that i skimmed quite a bit #i almost flipped my shit when i saw ender's game on there because I ALWAYS mix it up with ready player one by ernest cline #which i bought the audiobook of a while back and hated every minute of it i dont think its good at all #but it wasnt that so phew my faith in this list is somewhat restored #i read most of the first game of thrones book and was disappointed tbh maybe because id seen the show already #so i was like 'this feels almost exactly the same except worse?' because i'd been expecting it to give me more depth and insight #into the characters but instead it felt exactly the same and i still didnt love any of the characters enough to feel attached to them #also i am fully aware me not personally liking or vibing with a book doesnt mean it doesnt deserve to be considered great btw #but i think if youre gonna be like me and force yourself to go through a bunch of lists like this very seriously then you also need to just #let yourself be like 'yeah not for me' without feeling too bad about it sometimes too #often times i dont particularly love the classics or 'important books' but at the same time #i still feel like im getting more out of reading them than just grabbing the newest hyped up books that also dont do anything for me #maybe not in a 'wow i loved reading this' way but in like a #'i now have first-hand knowledge of this thing that is so influential / so frequently referenced'#or 'this challenged me and i feel like i did a mental/emotional workout or gave me some new food for thought'#or 'made me more aware of what gaps in my knowledge and reading skills and what my tastes are too'#sort of way...#it really just depends on what you're reading for and why and what you're hoping to get out of it a lot of the time maybe #it's like the homework i give myself to go through these lists that i also intersperse with the stuff i read more just for fun #p

I’ve been e-mailing publishers in an attempt to get my picture book published for a year with no success. By now I’m so tired of writing those e-mails that I haven’t even been trying for a while. Doesn’t help that I have no agent. But since the book itself has been fully written and illustrated all this time, I figured that sitting on it won’t do anything, and since I can’t find it in me to approach publishers anymore, I might as well self publish it - like I did with my coloring book.

I’ve been watching the wholesome insanity that Bigolas Dickolas started on Twitter, and I’m hoping that even a little fragment of that weird luck with books and publishers within the Trigun fandom would extend to me as well. So, if you have / know kids that like pirates and fantasy, keep an eye on my blog! I’m ordering a proof copy to check if it looks alright, and then I’ll make the book public - which should be in a few weeks if there’s no problems with the book. ^^

#I'll make a proper announcement when it's available #gonna test this luck and hope I'll get a little bit as well #I will be begging on my knees for people to share the post when I publish the book #I have no income and I'm running out of my savings #so getting some sales would mean a lot to me #this book is very DnD inspired if you are into that #and has pirates #and themes about accepting differences in yourself and in others #and finding your place among new people #you could call it found family too #full page illustrations on nearly every page #it will be available in Finnish and English for now #possibly other languages in the future #I'll have to discuss that possibility with potential translators #since the rights are now entirely in my own hands #as is the marketing

His friendly disposition allows him to get along with anyone, even eccentrics like Midorima! As Shuutoku's playmaker, he uses his Hawk Eye to see the entire court during matches.

Trading cards Special skill: Doing back handsprings (the wiki calls it doing backflips but the word used is バク転 and that one has the hands touch the ground. a backflip with a full rotation in the air would be バク宙) Special ability: Hawk eye

Author’s note: He's a nice guy and fun to draw, but I personally don't like this type of characters. Don’t get me wrong though, I don't dislike him at all.

PLAY STYLE: His plays make the most of his Hawk Eye!! Like Izuki's Eagle Eye, his Hawk Eye allows him to see the court from another perspective, only with a much wider range. His playing style revolves around precise passes using his awareness of every player on the court. 🡆Because he can see the entire court, he’s always one step ahead of the defense. 🡆He sees Kuroko as a rival since they both specialize in passing.

KEY POINT: Even Kuroko cannot escape the Hawk Eye!! Kuroko's misdirection doesn't work against Takao, who can see him with his Hawk Eye. But even Takao is helpless before Kuroko's Vanishing Drive!

PERSONALITY: Shuutoku’s easygoing mood-maker! He's only a first year, but his cheerful and easygoing personality has made him the team's mood-maker! He gets along with just about anyone, and even Midorima's eccentricities are no match for his social skills. He often finds himself mediating and lightening the mood when Midorima gets into arguments with their seniors. 🡆 Takao calls Midorima "Shin-chan", and delights in seeing him in trouble.

KEY POINT: Midorima's servant!? Takao pulls the rear cart that Midorima always rides in. They actually decide who pulls it beforehand by playing rock-paper-scissors, but Takao never wins…
