Pairing: Leonard "Wolfman" Wolfe (Henry "Wolfman" Ruth) x Fem!reader

Characters: Fem!reader, Carole Bradshaw, Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood, Leonard "Wolfman" Wolfe, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, Sarah Kazansky, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, Ron "Slider" Kerner, Charles "Chipper" Piper, Marcus "Sundown" Williams, Sam "Merlin" Wells, Rick "Hollywood" Neven, Baby Wolfman (Howler)

Warnings: Angst, fluff, slight club au, the reader and Leo have a fight, this started off as a different idea but I don't hate this, the gang is at the club, Mav and Goose chaos, Goose making fun of Ice and Slider, Ice and Ron being a slightly less chaotic duo, the other guys being club boys, slight crack behavior, Chipper is a cage dancer lol, Ice talks like he's had experience before with dancers, mentions of pregnancy, I cannot get enough of this man, I love writing for him so effing much, Wolfman fics cure depression, in my mind it's canon Wolfman's kids are nicknamed howler

Hello, hello, baby You called, I can't hear a thing I have got no service In the club, you see, see

You’re barely two minutes into the club when your phone starts buzzing (again). You take your phone out of your pocket, “hello?”

“-ey want to talk with y- but-”

“I can’t hear you, Leonard. We just got here. I don't think there's any service here. Can you hear me?” You hold a finger to your ear with your free hand to try and listen to him better.

“Break- ing up wi- you…”

You don't hear anything else after that.

Wha-wha-what did you say? Oh, you're breaking up on me Sorry, I cannot hear you I'm kinda busy

“You- you’re breaking up with me?”

“N- over the- phone.”

“Yeah, I heard you loud and clear earlier today and now.” You scoff, “don’t call me anymore tonight.” You hang up on him and head over towards the girls, who are waiting for you at the bar. “I am done dealing with idiots for the night. Have we ordered yet?”

Carole glances over at Charlotte with a concerned expression, the latter looking back at her with raised brows.

“What happened?” The former asks.

“I thought we could talk when I got home but I guess not.”

“Why?” Charlie chimes in.

K-kinda busy K-kinda busy Sorry, I cannot hear you I'm kinda busy

You shrug, “don’t really know what happened and don’t want to talk about it besides we’re here to enjoy our girls’ night.”

After waiting for Sarah to finish her big drink order, she makes way for you three. "Ladies, what are we having?"

It shouldn't have taken as long as it did but with her having to work and train a new bartender, it took a while before you got your drinks.

The lieutenant grabs the drinks while your longtime friend pulls you towards a free table.

You roll your eyes and shove your phone further into your pocket.

"Is he still calling?" Carole asks.

You stare at her with pursed lips, taking a sip of your drink. "Of course, he is. What else does this man have to do other than bother me and try to make things right? I'd appreciate it more if I wasn't annoyed."

Just a second It's my favorite song they're gonna play And I cannot text you with A drink in my hand, eh You shoulda made some plans with me

Charlotte takes her seat beside the blonde, setting the drinks down. “I miss anything while trailing behind you two?"

"He's still calling," she says with a bored tone.

"You haven't blocked him?"

"Why would I?" You look at her over your glass with furrowed brows.

"Because he's an idiot, who tried to pick a fight over something stupid, I'm sure and you deserve to enjoy yourself without him calling."

Carole shrugs, "I mean, she could do that, or she can come with me," she grabs your hand, "to the dance floor."

You stop her, "I don't know."

"Just let go for a little bit," Charlotte adds, helping the other girl try and pull you onto the dance floor.

"But-"

"Nope," they shake their heads and haul you onto the floor.

You knew that I was free And now you won't stop calling me I'm kinda busy Stop callin', stop callin' I don't wanna think any more

You sneak away from the two, checking your phone. You sigh, debating on answering him or leaving him on read.

“Don’t respond to his text,” Carole tells you, glancing over your shoulder. “We’re busy, like you said we can enjoy the night.”

You turn to her, “I don’t know what to do anymore.”

“I know, honey.”

“Take me away or let me lose my mind forever?”

She chuckles, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “That’s my line and I only use with my Goose.”

You playfully groan, “don’t talk about your sex life with me.”

“I never do, you just assume.”

“And you have to stop lightly implying what you and your hubby do.”

“But your facial expressions are my favorite thing, and they make my day.”

“The moon is out.”

She rolls her eyes, “okay, they make my nights too.”

I left my head and heart on the dance floor Stop callin', stop callin' I don't wanna talk anymore I got my head and my heart on the dance floor Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

Charlotte breaks away from the dance floor, standing in front of you two. “Okay, ladies. Are we going to keep talking or dance so we can forget about our troubles?”

“I like the second option,” the blonde says.

“Great, we’re doing this.” She turns around and spots a familiar face along with a few others. “Jesus,” she mumbles to herself. “You two go to the dance floor while I,” she shakes her cup, rattling the ice in the empty glass. “Get a refill.”

Carole notices the expression on her face and the way her eyes linger at the door. She turns and sees the guys walking into the club. She mentally face palms at the sight of her goofy husband waving his hand around like a mad man. “Come on, it’s time to dance.” She pulls you away before you can see anything or anyone that could ruin your mood.

You were barely able to take a sip of your drink before being hauled off. You don’t know what to do with this whole thing.

Is it considered a fight? You don’t know.

You’ve never known Leonard to act this way before.

He loves the guys; they’ve become his family so the little teasing comments shouldn’t have made him as upset as they did.

When it first happened, you didn’t know what to think; his attitude at the Top Gun barbecue was normal.

You close your eyes and wave your arms in the air (making you feel like the popular/ party girl in the movies), letting your annoyance escape you. It takes a lot for his anger to get the best of him.

The comments weren’t even that bad, the more you think about it; if anything, they were more endearing for Leonard but- you still don’t understand why he lost his composure today.

You lower your hands onto your head, trying to figure out what could have happened. You know it didn't happen in the morning because he was happy since he was going to be practicing in the air and that always made him happy no matter what.

Breakfast was good, you sent him off with a kiss as usual and he got to use the phone which was shocking since he normally can't because the other guys get to it before him.

The call was good, you could hear Rick asking him about you and trying to steal the phone from him.

Pete stops in front of Charlie first. "How's my favorite girl?"

She raises a brow and purses her lip, "you tell me. Your number one hasn't come by yet so you'll have to wait until then."

He chuckles and places a hand over his chest. "You wound me, honey."

"It's a gift." She takes a step forward. "Do you want to tell me why all of you are when you know we were trying to have a girl’s night?"

A nervous chuckle escapes him as he scratches the back of his head. "You see I was trying to stop," he gulps. "Wolf- Wolfman but he got past us, and we had to follow him."

"Is that all?"

He nods, "pretty sure, yeah. Goose?"

"Huh?" The mustached man lowers his head to try and hear better over the music.

"We followed Wolf because he got past us, right?"

"Oh, yeah. He just-" he lightly claps his hand and extends his arm and whistles, "went right past us and here we are."

"And that has nothing to do with the other guys here?"

They glance over their shoulders.

"Ice is here for his girl. Slider is looking for company, if you know what I mean," Nick explains, raising his brows to emphasize his innuendo.

She sighs, "when don't I?"

He merely smiles at her comment. "Merlin wanted to tag along and- uh- other guys weren't busy."

She looks around for the man of the hour.

"Where is he?"

Now the two are confused.

"He's not here?" Pete asks.

"He was just behind us," Nick adds.

They turn to one another. "Wasn't he behind you?"

"No. I thought he was with you."

"No, see, Mav. You've got it wrong. I came in first, like we discussed then you were supposed to come in with Wolf and make it seem like we met here by accident."

Charlotte tilts her head, crossing her arms. "And you two said it was a coincidence that you all were here."

"Dammit, Mav. You got us caught!" He smacks his arm.

"I got us caught? I'm not the one who just exposed us and our plan."

"Fine, fine." The mustached man rolls his eyes, "we're both to blame."

"I don't think so."

"Are these two idiots giving you a hard time?" Tom asks her.

She smiles and shakes her head, "unfortunately no but maybe you two can answer why you're all here?"

Tom and Ron glance at each other.

"Moral support and to get him a date," the man with frosted tips informs her.

"I told you I could get my own date."

"You've been doing jack with the way you complain about being single."

Those two-start arguing alongside the other duo leaving Charlotte with a growing headache. "Why do I ask?"

You don't feel the buzzing of your phone, too into your thoughts.

Was today anything special? No, if it was, you'd both have it on your calendars because you know you both aren’t the best with dates.

Could it have been an important Top Gun thing you needed to do and forgot about? No.

Everything that could go wrong or has gone wrong before has been crossed off your mental list.

'Cause this is a disaster Callin' like a collector Sorry, I cannot answer Not that I don't like you I'm just at a party

He taps Carole's shoulder. "Can I talk to her?"

She avoids his gaze. "I don't know if that's such a good idea, Wolf."

"I just- I want to talk to her. This place sucks with service so I couldn't tell her over the phone. Please," he pulls out his puppy dog eye expression, knowing whenever he uses it on anyone, they cave.

She sighs. "Am I going to regret this?"

He immediately shakes his head. "No, this is going to be good for us. I'm- I got this."

"If, and only if, you're sure."

"I am."

She smiles and pats his shoulder. "Go, get her stud."

He chuckles, making sure she makes it to her husband (who's distracting the other blonde with ease).

You still can't figure it out for the life of you, but you do know that you want to stomp on your phone and break it. You open your eyes and grab your phone. "What?" You growl. "You've been ringing me off the hook since we left. I told you we'll talk when I get home- why is there music coming from your line?"

"Turn around."

"What?"

And I am sick and tired Of my phone ringin' Sometimes I feel like I live in Grand Central Station Tonight I'm not takin' no calls

You spin around and find him standing just a few feet from you. You hang up and place it back into your pocket, walking closer towards him. "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to talk."

"You wanted to talk?"

He takes a step towards you. "Can we please talk about this elsewhere?"

"I don't want to talk to you after you kept endlessly blowing up my phone and then-" You stop when he pulls you away from the dance floor. "Hey. I wasn't done."

He stops when you two stops at your table, it's the only spot in the place that isn't jam packed with other people. "I know you weren't, but I want to be able to hear you when you scream at me and scrunch that nose of yours because you can't avoid me."

You cross your arms, rolling your eyes. "Why are you here?"

"I want to talk."

"Did you think maybe I didn't?"

"The service here sucks so how could I tell what you did or didn't want to do?"

"You think my ignoring you was for fun?"

He shrugs, "honestly, I think the both of us haven't been our usual selves today."

"You're one to talk."

"Can we- can we please not do this?"

"Do what?" You uncross your arms. "I'm acting perfectly fine."

"I don't want this to become a fight."

"It's a little too late since this is where we are, just a few steps away from fighting?"

He straightens his posture. "I'm trying to fix what I started. I don't- I don't like it when we fight."

"Neither do I but it's really hard when one of you doesn't think it's worth talking about."

"It's not that."

You reach forward and grab his hand. "Then what is it because I can't change anything if you don't talk to me."

He doesn't say anything else as his shoulders hunch over.

"This is why I made plans because you're not willing to talk." You remove your hand from his. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I'll be going back onto the dance floor so one of us can clear their heads."

You start walking away, not sure if you should be listening to him breathing with how much he has been acting like an ass today. You don't want to waste your time with something he clearly doesn't want to talk about even though he acts like it.

He grabs your wrist and pulls you back towards the table. "Okay, okay. I'll- I'll tell you. It's just- it's a lot."

"You don't have to unpack it all now, you can tell me some or however much you want to but know I won't tell anyone because I don't need to share your business with anyone else. You know that which is why you've been pissing me off today."

He chuckles. "It' just," he sighs. "Today- today is an anniversary."

"Ours? Is it really?" You pull out your phone. "I thought we were better than that. We usually coordinate and-"

He grabs your phone, "you're right. It's not, it's one of mine."

You tilt your head. "One of yours?"

"What do you think they're talking about?" Nick leans back, asking his friend.

"I don't know. Maybe he's finally admitting why he's been off today," Pete told him.

"I mean, that'd be great, right? We wouldn't have to tiptoe around them and everything that's been going on."

Charlotte rolls her eyes, "would the two of you rather dance with each other than us?"

They push themselves off the other and return their attention to their partners.

"Where'd Ice and Slider go?" Nick asks his wife, looking around the room for their fellow crew mates.

"Maybe Ice got a girl for Slider?" His wife adds.

"You think those chumps managed to get a woman, like an actual woman and not the ones in their heads, to talk to them?" Nick stares at his wife like she's crazy.

"I do and you know they're not that bad."

"They may not be but they're not that nice either."

"It doesn't help that you and Mav pick on them."

"I'm sorry," he pushes her away slightly, keeping his hands on her hips. "Are you my wife or theirs because I'm not feeling very loved right now."

She smiles and steps closer, keeping her hands wrapped around his shoulders. "You know I'm yours, baby."

"Are you now?" He smirks.

She pecks his lips, "show me the way home or lose me forever, you punk."

He chuckles and resumes dancing with her while pulling her off the dance floor.

Sam, Rick, and Marcus sit in a corner enjoying their drinks while watching everyone mingle with their spouse and/ or significant other.

“Has anyone seen Chip since we got here?” Sam asks.

Rick shrugs, “not really, kind of lost him in the crowd as soon as we got in.”

“What's a cage dancer supposed to look like?”

The two turn to Marcus with confusion evident on their faces.

“What?” Sam starts.

“Where'd that come from?” Rick adds.

“I think Chip is up there,” he points to the cage on the second floor.

“Jesus,” Rick mutters. “How do you persuade a cage dancer out of a cage?”

They look at one another.

“I don't think any of us know the answer to that,” the blond adds.

“Should we try to get him down?” Marcus asks out loud.

“Leave him, he'll get out when he's ready,” Tom says, patting Rick's shoulder.

“It's always the quiet ones,” Ron mutters.

They all shake their heads, watching as one of their own has the time of his life.

"The comments shouldn’t have bothered me, you know. I thought I was past this."

You furrow your brows. "Past what?"

"It's stupid."

You stand beside him, rubbing his upper back in a soothing manner. "It's not stupid if it's something that's bothering you."

He grabs your free hand that was resting on his shoulder, for support. "It's my parents’ anniversary."

"Oh."

He doesn't like talking about his family so this is all new for you and him.

"I don't talk about them because," he sighs. "My pops never treated my ma right and she never left him even though she should have. And there were people who used to say the same thing Mav and Goose were joking about, which wasn't that big of a deal but when I saw what day it was. I kind of-"

"Flipped out?"

He chuckles. "I wouldn't say that."

"Then what would you call it?"

He sighs before turning to face you and pulling you into his grasp. "Okay, maybe I did but it's only because you mean so much to me and I don't want us to end up like them. I don't want to end up like him, you know."

"We won't, you know why?"

I'm busy, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh Stop telephonin' me Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

He shakes his head.

"Because we're better. Yes, your parents didn't have the best relationship and your mother probably should have gotten out of that situation sooner but she didn't and hopefully got to live a long life where she got to see her kids grow up and get married or meet someone smart enough to keep their boyfriend at a distance."

He smirks, brushing his thumb on the back of your hand, against your knuckles. "Hey, now."

"I'm just saying."

"You can say all you want, and it won't change a thing, you know why?"

"Why?" He leans in, as if he's whispering a secret. "One way or another I'm getting a ring on that finger."

You avoid his gaze when he pulls back.

"You're looking a little flushed," he teases. "Do we need to step outside and get some air?"

You playfully shove him away, "no. I want to go back on the dance floor so I can get away from you."

He smiles, pulling you back into him. “You can't escape me, sweetheart."

You step towards him, standing toe to toe, "doesn't mean I can't try."

"You can try but it won't do you any good."

"I'm still going to try." You stomp your foot, knowing full well he's going to be right on your tail (exactly where you want him).

Tom glances over his shoulder when Sarah gestures to the dance floor where you and Leonard are, along with the (two) idiots and their girls.

Ron passes him, giving his buddy an ecstatic smile as he drags some poor girl with him.

"Jesus, where do you find them?" He mutters to himself.

She smiles and leans forward, "I told you things were going to get interesting when we left for the barbecue today."

"Yeah, yeah." He turns back to her. "What's a navy man got to do to get a free drink around here?" He playfully flirts with his girlfriend.

She rolls her eyes, "still gotta pay, pilot."

He groans, "are you sure? I think I can be pretty persuasive if I need to."

"Not today."

He sighs, pulling out his wallet, "if I must."

She smiles at him, letting the other bartender working with her take care of the other customers until she's done talking to him.

There's no better customer than her boyfriend.

You stand beside the girls and start dancing less out of control than you did when you first got to the dance floor.

The girls’ glance at one another and smile, happy to see the two of you talk and make up (like adults and stopped avoiding the other [more you than him]).

Pete turns to him with a raised brow while Nick stares at him with a hopeful expression and both brows raised, doing a thumb up thumbs down gesture.

Leonard smiles and shakes his head before wrapping his arms around you, pulling you closer.

"I'm glad you two finally figured your shit out."

You give the mustached man a sarcastic smile, "as sweet as ever, aren't you, Nick? How did Carole ever get so lucky?"

He smiles back, kissing the top of his wife's head. "I don't know, she's just- she chose the best of the best, I guess."

"I'm pretty sure that's what you say about your partner and Ice but, okay."

He scoffs, "why are you ruining a good moment?"

"How am I ruining it?"

"With your-" He waves his hand in front of your face.

You stick your tongue out at him and lean further into Leonard's arms.

He bends down, "do you want to go back and sit down?"

You shake your head and smile at him, "nope. I'm perfectly fine where I am."

My telephone M-m-my telephone 'Cause I'm out in the club and I'm sippin' that bub And you're not gonna reach my telephone

You three went to the bathroom to fix yourselves (adding a little extra lipstick… to leave marks) and went to the restroom before leaving. "It wasn't stupid."

They both glance at you in the mirror and ask, "what?"

"It wasn't stupid like you thought," you tell Charlotte. "It was something serious for him and I think tonight was good for us." You can’t fight the smile that sneaks its way onto your lips. “I think it made us closer than before.”

Carole smiles, “good, maybe it’s a good thing the guys snuck him in then.”

After that night you guys were better than before because you got to learn something else about him and learned more about how he got to become the man you see today, and that's something you wouldn't ever trade for.

Maybe other than-

You stare at the ring on your finger.

"He's lucky, you know."

You turn to your longtime friend. "Who?"

She purses her lips and rolls her eyes. "You know who, you weirdo."

You suck in air through your teeth to exaggerate. "I don't know, Care. This little guy here seems lucky," you rub your protruding six-month pregnant belly. You lean as forward as you can, mumbling under your breath. "Lucky to stomp on my bladder and make his poor mother need to pee every five minutes."

"It's been at least ten minutes, a new record," she jokes, her laughter dying down when you don't join in. "At least he'll be home in a few."

"Not soon enough, I need his soothing hands."

"Oh, gross," she shrieks.

"Oh, don't be like that, you know what I mean and don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. I swear he gives the best foot rubs, I've never had better and you're one to talk, missy. You always kindly refer to your sexual escapades with your hubby."

"I do not!"

The door opens and you two don't stop.

"Do too."

"Do not! I'm hurt, very hurt that you would even imply such a thing."

"I feel like I shouldn't have come in."

You turn to your fiancé and smile at him. "Don't feel like that. Now, come here. I swear I haven't seen you today."

He bends down and pecks your lips. "You just want me to give you a foot massage.”

You scoff, "how dare you." You sniffle, cover your eyes.

"Sweetheart, honey, I didn't mean to make you cry-"

"You didn't! This spawn of yours did."

"I'm gonna go," she whispers to him.

He nods and waves at her till she gets to the door. "How about I give my special girl a nice, long foot rub and we watch some of our favorites?" He rests his head on the arm of the couch. "Do you like that idea?"

You wipe your under eye and nod, glancing down at him, wondering how you ever got so lucky to find a guy like him.

"I'm the lucky one." He pecks your temple and starts grabbing stuff for your relaxing night.

"How did you know?"

"I'm psychic."

You narrow your eyes to him.

"I'd be a bad fiancé if I didn't know what you wanted."

Before you fall asleep, you swear you hear him whispering to the baby.

"-nd I told her I'd get a ring on her finger one way or another. You had nothing to do with it but that was some pretty funny timing, little howler."

Can't EMPHASIZE enough how much I grieve childhood that I could have had. Like, people won't allow me to ever talk about it because... I could have had it worse, or from some stories it seems solid or some stories make folks so damn uncomfortable they just brush it off with a socially acceptable equivalent of "That's rough buddy."

Back to the point, I haven't heard enough discussions about how many things in childhood... simply aren't possible in adulthood. I hate how my parents were always telling me to work hard as a child so that I can have a better life as an adult (+ plenty of unnecessary rules and punishments to set me 'straight')

As a child I could have done some silly things in school and could have had moments of iconic cheekiness, for example, my classmates would sometimes pick a theme for their friend group(+others who would wish to participate) to have as a B theme in every english(+other languages) assignments, usually something random like a singer's name or whatever but sometimes they would go a step further and choose something kinda taboo for school, and it was hilarious when the teachers had to rank assignments and there was this random name or a phrase or a word in almost EVERY SINGLE one of them.

And I just wasn't allowed to have that or my parents would verbally or/and physically punish me(depending on the severity of the taboo theme). I hate how my friends could just stay after school for SO long, meanwhile I had to get back pretty soon to help out at home or ELSE.

I hate how when we would have presentations my classmates would insert memes into them and spark enjoyment in an otherwise boring setting, I had to make mine as formal and professional as possible(or with the subtle bearly visible memes, sometimes). I hate how they could vandalize the old damaged property and I couldn't simply because I was afraid if my parents found out.

There are so many more examples. All of the above was pretty harmless even within the school itself, but my parents were THAT obsessed over their image that they wouldn't let me do any of it regardless and made such a big deal out of every little thing I tried. Like, I was either stressing if my parents would find out or low key hating myself for ruining our classes' union.

And for all of my hard work... can't say I got anything out of it aside from the obvious benefits of consistent studying, which other B+ students had as well as fun childhoods.

The worst part is... that now as an adult, being formal and professional is actually a necessity in terms of having a job, so yeah, guess I just missed out on lots of fun is all. (*breaks down crying*)

Review of Season 1 of My adventures with Superman:

I just got done watching the season finale of "My Adventures with Superman." I really under-estimated this show when I saw the first teasers for it. I thought it would be a version of Superman for little kids. And though I think children can watch it, there is some very mature writing in this, the kind I haven't seen since Disney's Gargoyles. It's wholesome, well-written, and most importantly it FEELS like Superman. It's not the cynical deconstruction that Zack Snyder did with man of steel. This is the traditional boy scout version of superman, the sort of hero I'd missed. The art style resembles a Japanese anime but this show is actually American made. The movements of the characters are very fluid. There's a beauty to this animation. Superman's movements in flight are realistic and fluid. He appears like he's swimming. Some of the antagonists have changed origins and are redesigned but these don't detract from it at all. I love what they did with Jimmy Olsen, especially the nonchalant little twist they gave to his character at the end of the season finale. This is probably my favorite depiction of Jimmy Olsen in any Superman incarnation. I was relieved that the show allowed Lois (and Jimmy) to learn Clark's secret identity pretty early on (Jimmy actually figured it out first). It wasn't drawn out. I think everyone was tired of Lois not knowing Clark's secret decades ago. There is on-going story progression. And it's so wholesome, so hopeful and warm, it's strangely comforting. I hadn't seen a superhero show like this in a long time. Though I liked the mid-90s Superman animated series, this has fast become my favorite version of Superman. Neil Gaiman was right when he had said (over in Twitter when it was still Twitter) that Superman doesn't need to be changed for "modern audiences." You just need to let superman be superman in a modern setting. And that's what this show did and it works. No one is bored with the classic Superman when he is done right.

I'm not even that big of a fan of Superman (in general). But I an genuinely loving this show. It's so good.

I am not sure why Cartoon Network shows it during Adult Swim (It's adult content evening timeslot). It FEELS like a well-made version of Superman. And it's not overly mature with themes too intense for children. No, far from it. This is a GOOD version of Superman. It keeps you on your toes. The main characters like Clark, Lois, Ma and Pa Kent are all true to the cultural collective idea of who they are and yet the show is different enough that old school fans of Superman won't get bored. It'll keep you on your toes because it deviates just enough. Also people who aren't old school fans of superman should be able to follow it just fine. This cartoon was surprisingly good. And it deserves more attention. I dare say that this version of Superman has the potential to become as iconic as the 90s Batman the animated series.

I haven't been to jeno's house for a while since we both have been so busy with exams, and now that's we're finally done with them (i'm nearly done with my life as well) we decided to hang out at his place and he'd teach me some gaming/valorant hacks and skills cuz i obviously suck at video games.

And being the literal procrastinator i am, we decided, and only after a long time of me begging him, to just watch random vids on youtube and listen to some of his self-produced songs while catching up with life and stuff.

We were listening to a song and just using our phones in silence when he asked me if i wanted to eat mac and cheese, and me beeing the mnc enthusiast, i couldn't say no, i offered to make it or help him with the making it but he just told me to continue watching videos or do whatever while he makes it, and then walks out of his bedroom.

I was just gonna keep listening to music when he suddenly came back and stood by the door "hey, uhm, don't go through my stuff and other folders on the computer" i just nodded my head and hummed.

But now that i think about it, that's weird (that's suspicious) he never told me that before, -well ofc, I've never really used his computer before-

And i got curious, and when i do, nothing can stop me from being curious lol

I closed the music folder and the first thing that caught my attention was a folder named "mine♡" with a butterfly icon (wow that was really sudden and not scripted lol) i kept looking at it and yelled so he can hear me "Yo jen, you got yourself a new girl and didn't bother to tell me?"

waiting for his response i opened the folder, as i said i was curious, and as it opened i regretted, both opening and yelling out at him. It was full of pictures of us together, pictures from our hangouts and random pics (nothing creepy lol). And if that moment can't get more perfect, he walked back in the room with two plates and forks.

"yo i heard u call or something, is everyth-"

As soon as i heard his voice i closed the folder but it was too late, he saw it and i was too scared and surprised to turn around and see his reaction.

"what were you watching just now?" wow nice acting dude "nah, it was nothing"

From my peripheral view, i saw him set the plates on his bedside table and walk towards me. He came from behind me and held the mouse with one hand and put the other on the keyboard (as if he was back hugging me), he clicked some buttons and the folder was back on display. I thought he's even get mad at me for opening it or get too embarrassed to re-open it right in front of me, again. But he chuckled and i was left surprised. His head was nearly on my right shoulder so i just turned mine a bit to give him a confused look, and he just chuckled againt and said "surprised, aren't we?" and turned my chair around to make it that he's got me between his body and his gaming table. I got flustered and i didn't even know how to react. Well obviously, jeno lee, the hot engineering student had me locked between him and some desk, but most important, jeno lee, MY OWN BESTFRIEND AND BUDDY. I guess that knocked some sense into me as i tried to laught it off and push him away, but that made him bring his face closer to mine, and made me pull mine away as i nearly fell back, forgetting how stretchy (؟?) the back of a gaming chair is. I closed my eyes thinking i was gonne fall back, but i didn't, and only realized it when i opened my eyes and found jeno's face only a couple centimeters away from mine.

"Jeno, stop playing games and step away buddy" he laughed, LAUGH? Dude i'm having an internal crisis right now because of you, and you're just laughing??

"games? y/n, i'm literally playing no game right now, bestie"

"exactly Jen, bestie, we're bestfriends stop whatever you're thinking of doing please"

"yeaah, you're my best friend i know that, you're the best friend i've had a crush on for years and she was so oblivious to realize it"

"what? Jeno stop saying nonse-"

I couldn't finish what i was gonna say as i felt a pair of lips on mine. It was so sudden that i couldn't react instantly, but when i realized what was happening and lifted my hands to push him away, he caught them mid air and pinned them to the armrests of the chair, so i just kissed him back and move my lips against his before he could pull away (now that it happened, i'm not complaining i got to kiss my hot bestfriend)

As the kiss was getting more heated, he pulled away to catch our breaths. I honestly have to admit that he's a good kisser, no cap.

I looked up to find him already looking at me, i'm sure the look on my face was unreadable cuz as he keept looking at me, his eyebrows creased and a confused look placed itself on his face. As he was about to say something, probably explaining himself, i pulled him back by the collar of his hoodie to take his glasses off and kiss him again. And that move surprised the both of us, i guess i've been so touch starved.

As seconds passed, things were getting more heated as i placed my hand in his hair and played with it, we pulled back for a second to catch our breaths and dived right back into eachother's lips, he bit my bottom lip asking for permission to his tongue and i guaranteed it

"jeno my dude i got a new video game for us to t-, uh never mind i'll call u next time, have fun guys"

Jaemin came in and out of the room so fast that we couldn't even react to it properly, we just pulled away and started laughing

"Jeno go get your friend before he starts freaking out in the middle of the street"

Jeno laughs again and heads out to get his friend back, but before leaving he gives me a soft kiss on the corner of my mouth and says "i'll be back".

He then gets jaemin back and we spent the rest of the evening playing video games, well i was just trying, anx watching few movies, not forgetting the occasional weird glances we'd get from jaemin.

so i’ve been rewatching doctor who from the (2005) start as a little project for the 60th anniversary - it’s the first time i’ve rewatched most of eleven’s run, and i haven’t watched any of his eps since like….2013? anyway i just finished the angels take manhattan and forgot just how dumb it is as a concept, but did remember you had a lot of hilariously incredulous posts about it when it first came out. why can’t the ponds get on a bus to new jersey and have the doctor pick them up there??? it does feel like such a wasted opportunity to have all these eps about how they’re “growing up” and living their own lives and how that’s sort of nice, only for that all to get torpedoed in their final episode

in general the whole eleven rewatch has been a fun revisit to things that absolutely infuriated me back in the day, to the point i have almost a fondness for them now lol

It's so stupid lmaooo. I haven't seen any of those episodes in years, maybe since they aired?, and while I find looking back I retain a fondness for Amy Pond (more than any other Moffat character at least), thanks largely to Karen Gillan being just so dang lovable, I can't think about her story for too long or my brain implodes.

Angels Take Manhattan is such a goofy stupid end for a character who helped define the era. They really have to just pull together so many contrivances to try and justify Amy and Rory being stuck in the past forever even though their bestie and also their stupid stolen baby are literal time travellers. And, as you said, most of s7a sets up Amy and Rory with a life on earth that they're increasingly attached to only to rip it away from them, too, for uh, reasons. I also remember loving the part where Amy wears glasses for a single episode so that Eleven can have something to wear sadly after she's gone. Those iconic glasses we all remember Amy wearing for (checks notes) 30 minutes of runtime. Why not at least introduce them at the start of s7a. Can't plan too far ahead, I guess.

For a long time I think a lot of the New Who companions suffered from the issue of needing a big dramatic exit, when some, like Amy or Clara, would've done better with a Martha-style exit of their own free will. Of course, more recently, this has been replaced by stuff like Yaz getting evicted from the TARDIS against her will because ? no reason really Thirteen just is tired of her ?, so I guess be careful what you wish for.

FORGOTTEN LIVES: Graeme Harper

One Doctor is down for the day, we're onto the Doctor I shamelessly admit to find the most fascinating. By this point we've started in a supernatural world and taken a walk back into stories like we'd expect from Doctor Who, returning to sci-fi. Aditya Bidikar takes us back to the fantasy genre that the Barry Doctor started us in through more than just the setting, but through a Doctor that walks in the realm of fables and grandiose concepts... and comic books.

Graeme Harper (1945) is currently the one and only director for Modern and New Series Doctor Who. With his earliest credits being The Caves of Androzani and Revelation of the Daleks before returning for the RTD era for events like Rise of the Cybermen / The Age of Steel and The Stolen Earth / Journey's End, no doubt we're all familiar with their work in some way.

Aditya Bidikar brings a unique side of the Doctor out, I'd argue one of the more standout incarnations overall. While still noticeably and clearly the Doctor, there is a presence that I haven't seen since Sylvester McCoy's portrayal. The Harper Doctor very well may be the other side of the coin that McCoy portrayed - where one is a dark trickster in an unsuspecting from, the other is a wanderer in the unknown that marvels at every step. The pair are the only Doctors that I could picture being able to talk to higher concepts such as Death, which both incarnations prove to do.

While I've focused a lot on the main authors in these posts, I have to give great credit to Cody Schnell and their story - "Scene to Uncover" steps up to Bidikar's universe flawlessly, showing a moment we don't often get to see in Doctor Who while feeling right at home. They take full opportunity of the themes and fairy-tale like stories to paint their own fascinating glimpse of greater beings at work.

Even the TARDIS, designed as always by Paul Hanley, perfectly captures what this era could be. The darker blues and purples of the interior make it feel relaxed and cosy, while the library at the back could practically sum up this entire Doctor. Their adventures feel exactly like what "Forgotten Lives" should be, stories pulled off of a dusty shelf that haven't been read in so long that it's like you're experiencing them for the first time all over again.

One interesting note of design involves the Doctor's ambiguous gender. There are multiple references throughout their era about how this Doctor must be a man because they've got a beard (which may not be entirely accurate). Apart from just adding some well needed variety to the Morbius lineup and unwittingly making Graeme Harper a gender non-conforming icon for the book, this feels very in line with what could've been done at the time. Considering the disgusting reaction that Jodie Whittaker's debut as the Doctor caused from certain corners of the internet, having a woman debut as the Doctor over sixty years ago could've led to an equally gross reaction. One way that it might've been worked around is by simply implying the Doctor had become a woman while presenting as a man, an implication carrying a hundred words and a dozen queer readings as a result (I personally love how older media would get around harsher reactions by simply implying what they wanted, so this detail grabbed my interest quick).

Graeme Harper was a fun roadbump when it came to the Morbius Doctors as his photos wasn't taken with everybody else, instead being retrieved from elsewhere. What went into designing this Doctor is too much for me to shorten and sum up in a single post - Paul Hanley managed to crack the long standing mystery of where Harper's Morbius photo originally came from and you can find that in his post detailing how he made the outfit. Of course, the outfit of this Doctor would've ended up quite different if they had used the one in the actual photo - an Adjudicator costume. So instead, Paul Hanley had the unique chance to design his own outfit befitting of this Doctor specifically. This, of course, leading to the ultimate addition to an outfit - a psychic beard.

Nick isn't going to the GLAAD media awards which rwrb is nominated at but Taylor is going, which doesn't surprise me at all but it disappoints me. As far as we know anyway, I might end up eating my words. Nick didn't even post about the voting which would have taken a few seconds on an IG story. People argue about him wanting to move on from older projects since he has new projects to promote but that doesn't stop him from talking about Bottoms all the time. Also that recent interview where he did the memory box and he mentioned Cinderella, PH, M&G, TIOY but no rwrb. A fan asked Heart why there was no rwrb mention and they said they couldn't get rwrb out of him, and they linked to an older vid. That suggests Nick or his team didn't want him to talk about rwrb. Maybe there is going to be a sequel announcement soon but the memory box was just saying a line or 2 about his old movies. What's the harm? If it is because of the sequel announcement then surely going to the GLAAD awards would hype it up? It doesn't make sense. I don't believe in some people's takes about Nick because I think he is closeted but some rwrb fans think that he used queer movie roles to set himself apart from other actors and to get name recognition and now he only wants to work with Oscar nominees or awarded actors. Of course M&G is queer but it's very 'artsy' whereas rwrb is just a gay love story and it did so much for queer representation. One of the few decent gay romcoms with a great message. M&G is more about abusing power. Nick did a recent rwrb interview but it's part of his Emmy campaign as he's predicted to get an actor nomination. I don't think the rwrb fans are upset that he's a 'straight' man playing a gay man, it's more to do with him trying to distance himself from it and ignoring significant lgbtq+ awards like GLAAD, there are others too. Like he's doing nothing for the lgbtq+ community, not even as an ally but he's taking lgbtq+ roles. That's why. His lack of allyship but getting praised for lgbtq+ roles. People are deeming him a queer icon and for what?

I think we shouldn't be expecting too much of a closeted queer man. He's doing way more than other closeted actors already for the queer community. I have never seen anyone speak so eloquently about the lgbtqai+ community and as reverently as he does. I haven't seen anyone seemingly straight disscussing queer issues and showing so much understanding as he does. We have never had so much queer cinema and attention on queer storylines as now. Nick is a huge contributor to that fact, even if he isn't giving the queer community representation. There is still only a handful of out queer actors who does. So he's already done a lot for a closeted queer actor.

Nick is still closeted and it seems to me like he wants to continue to be in order to make it big. We may not like it, but it's his decision to make. It's also his closet. He's said he'll continue to do queer roles. He is Bambi and he is everyone's babygirl. He's acknowledging it and embracing it. But he is still closeted. I've talked about how closeted celebrities need to balance the queer presenting and projecting, and the straight presenting and projecting. Nick also has to do that as a closeted man. Nick isn't in a glass closet, like TZP is. Nick is also currently promoting a very het movie. He's supposed to be selling his chemistry with Anne to the audience. We're supposed to think he's straight.

I have talked about Nick at the GLAAD awards before and explained what i think is happening. I don't think Nick is downplaying RWRB, but it's so dominating, and i think he wants attention on his other projects too. But he also needs to balance the straight and the queer. As long as he's closeted he can't be everything the queer community needs him to be. He's doing what he can and what he's comfortable with, within the boundaries of his closet. It is what it is.

hey there, everyone ♪ welcome to a yet another prosekai edit blog!! there are a lot of them already, howeveeeer— my main priority for starting this blog is to have an archive for my own edits ★ i haven't done them in a long time and i wanted to start anew, so they might not be the best, but i'm doing it just for fun!! i don't have a main blog for the time being and i'm still figuring out tumblr again, but i hope we can get along well ww

any transparents that aren't the in-game transparents are gonna be by @/prsk2dmv-transparents and @/sekaitransparents!! will be crediting them whenever i use them, but if i ever forget then the credit is here ~

WHAT CAN I DO

icons: only square ones for now. these can contain either card icons (icon that is just a close-up of the card, optionally with some touch-ups), general icons (icon of a character on a certain background, mostly of a monochrome color) and pride icons (icon of a character on a pride flag, although i want to try making icons with disability flags as well). i won't do gif icons, though, or at least not for now ):

twitter layouts: a set containing an icon (please specify which one from the icons above) and a twitter header; the types of headers are general headers (containing the requested character/pairing on a certain background; works with pride flags as well), picture headers (headers that are a picture fitting the icon) and mixed headers (made from three pictures — two fitting the icon and one containing the character/pairing)

WHAT I MIGHT DO

moodboards: either open ones (where every picture is separated) or closed ones (where everything is in one picture). if you choose a closed one, i will as well do two versions; one with only pictures used in the moodboard and one with a requested character/pairing on top of it.

stimboards: nothing to say in this one, just that i might deny the request when i won't be able to find good gifs. you can send me gifs you want to see in the stimboard, though

wallpapers: either phone or pc ones, specified size would be appreciated. similiar to icons, these can contain either card wallpapers (preferably only to be requested for phone wallpapers), general wallpapers and pride wallpapers. i might experiment with some of them, however!

tumblr layouts: not too confident in making these, but i might as well try. works the same way as twitter layouts, but the only header type is gonna be a general header

reply icons: also not too confident with these, but work the same way as normal icons. they're just uhh shaped like reply icons you know.

i'm ok with doing any pairing that is not proship or toyasaki/toyakasa! i'll also think about adding more sources someday, but for now i just want to stick to prosekai ww

Would love to hear your review of Artfol once you've settled in a bit! (Probably wouldn't hurt for me to have a more presentable art archive somewhere either, so I'm curious about the alternatives)

of course!! after using artfol for about a week, i do like it! it's still very new, so i wasn't expecting too much off rip from it but it definitely has some good potential if it gets successful!

putting this under a read more because, as per usual, this got long.

to start: the good stuff! good, robust organization thus far for artists. all the art you post gets automatically put in its own separate tab on your profile called gallery in chronological order and any other art and text posts that you share as well as your own art and text posts get put into another tab called feed. the feed is in chronological order from newest to oldest and it's suuuuper nice being able to have an easy place that contains all your original work people can go to without the hassle of punching in specific tags in a search bar (or inputting them into the website url) and hoping for the best. the feed can then be further organized between posts and art, art submitted to challenges, art submitted to submissions and reshares of other peoples stuff.

you can also make collections for your own gallery, so you can have all your fan art in one collection, ocs in another, etc. this isn't just for personal organization either; your separate collections are displayed under the about section on your profile or, if you've got them, links section! i honestly like this a lot. most of my experience of running an art blog comes from tumblr and getting separate pages set up on your blog, while not horribly difficult, does require a bit of knowledge regarding html and manually inputting website urls where you want the links to go. having all of this steam lined is much better. all of this is relatively easy to figure out as long as you're open to just clicking buttons on the website to see what they do, as far as i could find there's no official tutorial available. you can only have a limited number of these without a premium subscription but i haven't a clue as to what that limit even is.

you can also effectively pin certain art pieces that you're proud of to the top of your gallery by putting them in a featured selection. no idea how to do this yet but i do think this in of itself is neat.

customization is light but they cover the basics well. they've got a nice bio and announcement/secondary heading type feature under your username that you can customize, as well as a nice big space for an icon and a big ol' banner you can put your art in. other than that, you can choose a 'theme color' as artfol calls it but it just determines the color of the bar under your banner as far as i can tell on the website version. they also have a separate area for links that automatically turn into the websites icon you're linking back to.

custom warning tags!!! these fully blur the image and you can put as many words to warn others about the content of the art as you want to clarify what someone's getting into if they click show. at first i was worried i could only put one custom warning on an image but nope, it lets you write multiple warnings on the censored image if the NSFW and Gore filters aren't cutting it for the art.

speaking of which; artfol allows NSFW! in places where online spaces have been getting progressively sanitized because big corporations and google ad sense are the ones who can pay the bills of hosting thousands of images and videos on servers, it's nice to see that.

the challenges! other artists can issue challenges to others to either draw their characters in certain outfits, as certain creatures, drawing a piece of art in your style, etc. think some of the various art memes floating around on twitter, except this time they have their own dedicated category! i haven't done any challenges yet but this seems like a great way to socialize with other artists on artfol, as well as stretch your own art skills.

AI art is explicitly banned.

there is an algorithm however it prioritizes art made recently, so artists of all skill level and mediums get a shot at being seen on the front page which is nice! as far as i can tell, your home feed (which is very similar to tumblr's) is in chronological order and doesn't put in any suggested or recommended posts in the middle of the posts of the people you've chosen to follow. the like and share options are easily accessible and when you share someone else's art, it notifies them by telling them that you've pinged them which is... odd to me, but the website doesn't seem to auto credit them any other way in reshares (in contrast, tumblr keeps the OP's username and icon at the top of their own original post when it gets reblogged). i'm also something of a tumblr hermit so this could be a common reshare (reblog?) format else where for all i know and i'm just griping about nothing.

there is a premium subscription you can sign up for as i mentioned earlier. you get stuff like no ads (which you also get if you've got an adblocker on your browser), more collections can be made, you can upload cover art (icons, i think?) for your collections and the art you post, you can have custom profile theme colors (i guess they let you use the color wheel or a hex code instead of the pre seleced colors they already have?) you get more layouts for your featured art on your profile and you don't have to wait 60 days to change your username. oh, and you can make groups that people can join based around one particular thing, however i haven't touched any groups yet because none of them are all that appealing to me.

honestly, a lot of the premium subscription perks are very inconsequential to the core functionality of artfol which is a huuuuge bonus to the devs in my eyes. they easily could have paywalled commission pages or collections all together and them just giving you some extra customization perks instead shows me that the devs are actually focused on making an artist friendly website and app.

over all, artfol is relatively easy to navigate and upload your art to! the base features are solid however the website does have some downsides.

the bad:

the most egregious thing is that I haven't been able to and currently can't access the content guidelines or privacy policy pages. when I first signed up, artfol gave me a link to what the website claimed was the content guidelines however it just linked me to the news page and that really didn't sit well with me.

because the artfol website is so new, I am going to give them a chance and interpret this in the best faith possible and assume that it seems like this is just an issue of certain pages crashing, seeing as I used to be able to access the News page on artfol and now it's just gone like the other pages. on top of that, it seems like every link except for their twitter, android and apple download links, instagram and discord links at the bottom of the artfol website page is broken in the same way. out of all pages eating themselves the content guidelines and privacy policy ones feel like the worse ones to lose. I haven't been able to access the guidelines from the jump and it's been really frustrating. I just got done sending an e-mail to their contact e-mail, so hopefully something good comes from that. in the mean time i've also downloaded the app to try to see if i can find the guidelines and privacy policy on there. I've noticed people complaining about crashing pages in the mobile app reviews so hopefully this is just a case of a website page accidentally eating itself and it's just very unfortunate coincidence that it happens to be some very important pages affected by the crashes.

other than that, the other downsides are that the website takes like a minute and a half to load, clicking on a censored image to view it on your home feed takes you to the individual post and has you un-censor it there rather than directly from your home feed and some features are currently only available to mobile accounts such as commissions tabs, however i'm sure that will eventually be made available to the website version as well in due time. also, while uploading art, not including the custom censor tag or NSFW or gore filters, you can only put 5 tags on your art. these are all only minor annoyances and i'm sure they'll eventually be fixed in upcoming patches.

over all: asides from some concerning hiccups with missing pages, artfol seems very promising for a relatively new, bare bones website! the developers have very much taken a mobile app first, website later approach which at least to me isn't the end of the world, seeing how the website is already doing okay all things considered. the community seems nice and i'm planning on trying out some challenges soon to get more experience using it!
