Crabapple Cove not being a real place is doing numbers on me. why did they make up an entire town. why did they retcon Hawkeye being from Vermont and then make up an entire town for him to be from. what was the reason

one of my favourite things about beejhawk is that we canonically have a character looking at them together and announcing that they are making her feel sick. i just think that's beautiful.

(what’s this? more aro-mash posting? it’s more likely than you think)
while i do hc some aro and ace Hawkeye for the funsies, i know the aceness isn’t technically supported by the text (and of course if that were to stop me i would have nary an ace character anywhere) but the aromantic read is surprisingly present, for him and for Margaret and for Charles especially --
and Mulcahy, although his is a little different in that he’s never really positioned in a romantic tryst that he needs to figure out for himself and then move on from. He simply doesn’t have a narrative related to romance (he does have a character get a crush on him, but it’s firmly unrequited). There is, within the plot, a reason to not give Mulcahy romantic narratives (although they could’ve if they’d wanted to get Spicy I suppose), while the other three do have a few apiec + don’t have “an excuse” to fall back on (to an extent, see Charles). This not to say I can’t/don’t hc him as aromantic, but that there’s perhaps less to explore within the text as meta, because he’s sorted, he’s got God, the end. there’s no tension of aromanticism that I can think of off the top of my head (do let me know if there’s lines or scenes or storylines that do have something suggestive to them)
the very simple idea that their stories do not hinge on an overarching romantic conclusion, and especially especially for Hawkeye and Margaret, who have quite a few conversations notably (most?) often with each other about romance and their lack of success at it, only to gravitate towards one another’s orbits over and over, and then for the story to say, “it’s not romantic -- it is a deep, understanding friendship, and it’s very, very important for the both of them (and is possibly their least drama free relationship once comrades in arms happened?)”
there’s nothing stopping the story, really, from making it romantic, although I wouldn’t have been a fan of it, precisely because they’re far more powerful a dynamic as friends (and I think perhaps they instinctively got that in the writing room, even if safe to say they presumably were not saying, “let’s queer this notion of romantic-ends are the only proper ends” -- Alan Alda at the very least seemed to be interested in Hawkeye’s lack off romantic commitment, which is funny coming from famous-for-loving-his-wife Mr Alda and I continuously wonder if he knows about aromanticism as a concept, on some level wish someone had been around to ask him some more about that facet of Hawkeye at the time)
Hawkeye and Margaret get the main thrust of their relationship development from seasons 1-7, and for the most part after that are just on a level of understanding and (almost) total lack of conflict with each other -- when they kiss in GFA it’s satisfyingly non-romantic, and also contains that specific hard-to-describe spark that makes their dynamic work
I’m still going through my several at-the-same-time rewatches, so I’ve only seen the Charles romance episodes once, but my first instinct (which also includes the odd “lets see if Margaret and Charles have some kind of chemistry” episodes in s6) is simply that he’s lonely, very aware of his Duties As Eldest Son Of Posh Family, wants some kind of connection, but under his constraints cannot form one, never mind articulate what it would look like ideally
so you get these episodes like the one with the French woman, where he’ll be so excited about all the things they have in common and the moment she starts talking about a romantic relationship, he suddenly goes hard on the “my family wouldn’t approve,” line, which on that first watch wasn’t quite so solid for me as a reasoning... but we’ll see on watch the second. It did feel like a handy excuse that came from being afraid (but afraid of what, good sir!)
Also it makes sense he wouldn’t share his (a)romantic woes with anyone else, not sharing things is one of his main character traits, but I’ll keep an eye out for how this lack-of-romance interacts (if it does) with the others. He does of course have One (1) sharing moment with Hawkeye, in relation to fathers/dads

Feel free to ignore if it's been too long or you're not vibing with it but I'm very curious so I want to throw out a few more for the wip ask game: the one where Trapper goes to Illinois, margaret longfic, hawkeye and margaret commiserate over lost loves, and BJ goes to maine (derogatory). pick any/all of them.
thank you :) the one where Trapper goes to Illinois - rated G - at Radar's behest, Trapper visits Henry's widow. margaret longfic - rated M - follows Margaret from beginning to end of the war - i intend for it to be one long character study. the excerpt is hawkeye/margaret, just mentioning that in case it's not your thing. lots of ships appear in this one, margaret/frank, margaret/donald, margaret/hawkeye (none of these are endgame) but i've also got strictly platonic BJ/Margaret and Klinger/Margaret chapters... I'm playing with the idea of the different Margaret 'phases' being marked by who she's with. the margaret/frank years, the margaret/donald fever dream months, the margaret/charles weirdness and the eventual margaret-and-hawkeye-are-friends-now years that take us through to the end. i hope to turn that on its head by the end. hawkeye and margaret commiserate over lost loves - rated T - started writing this when i was super into hawkeye being very mopey about BJ lol. idk if i'll finish it because i don't think i believe that hawkeye would be broken up over an unrequited love for too long. I can really tell I wrote this early on in my mash days, because hawkeye and margaret both ring OOC to me reading this back. BJ goes to maine (derogatory) - rated M - postwar hawkeye/omc established relationship and then BJ shows up and causes problems. this actually started as a gift for you after you mentioned you would be into this premise lmao, i didn't realize you were writing it yourself and didn't mean to steal it from you. CW for what i intended to be dubcon in this. excerpts here:
the one where Trapper goes to Illinois
“Maybe you should go see her too, sir,” says Radar quickly. He seems to know he can say just about anything to Trapper without wearing out his welcome, but is still nervous to make the suggestion.
Trapper sighs. “She wouldn’t wanna see me Radar. And don’t call me sir. We’re not in Korea anymore.”
“You’re still older. You and Colonel Blake–”
“Henry.”
“You and him were closer in age you know? She might like seeing you. You guys were friends. And you would always kick me out whenever yous were watching those movies, or talking about–”
“Walter…” Trapper makes a face. The name doesn’t taste right. “Radar, I don’t think she wants to hear about any of the stuff we got up to. Henry probably didn’t even mention me at all.”
Radar seems to get frustrated, he rubs one eye underneath his glasses and tries another angle, “You were the last person to see him other than me that’s here. I can’t exactly ask Hawk–”
“All right! If it means you won’t show up here unannounced again, eat all the ham and cheese for my kids’ lunches and have my wife fussing over you like you’re a stray cat then fine.” Trapper drains the rest of his beer in one swig. “I’ll go visit in a few weeks.”
“August 20th weekend?”
“What about it?”
“Could you visit August 20th weekend?”
“You gonna book my flight?”
“No. It’s just that I told Mrs. Blake you’d visit August 20th weekend.”
“Radar!--”
Trapper is so exasperated at this point he feels he could actually strangle his Iowan houseguest, but at that very moment, his wife sticks her head out of the kitchen and begins to ask, “More juice?” *** margaret longfic
The thing about Hawkeye is nobody is just a warm body to him, nobody he meets can remain anonymous to him, nurse, patient, colleague or otherwise. It’s infuriating to her, his unending well of empathy and openness. It’s unmilitary, which she knows he doesn’t care a whit about, but it’s emasculating too and that, she thinks, he ought to mind.
She remembers her first time, all fumbles and guesswork and suddenly, somehow, something inside of her. The suddenness of it is what she remembers clearly and it’s reinforced by Frank and Donald. It’s not that she hadn’t enjoyed it, it’s just that she hadn’t known it could be different. But it’s different with Hawkeye.
Hawkeye fucks like he doesn’t want you to think of it as fucking, which Margaret finds offensive. He spends time that they don’t have at her neck and her breasts and annoyingly, at parts of her that do nothing for her sexually like her forehead and the skin over her ribs. When he finally puts it in her, the way God intended it, his hips undulate too slowly for her liking and his grasp on her middle is firm but not demanding.
He’s too present, and it makes her present too. She’s aware of every touch he applies to her, she feels him enter and leave over and over, and whenever he’s inside her fully there’s a moment where nothing happens, like those few seconds after an inhale before the exhale begins - he is breathing her in and out. There’s no time for that. She wishes he’d just fuck her in the sensible, appropriate manner she’s accustomed to.
He goes to bring his hand to just above where they’re joined, but she bats it away, I’ll do it myself, and he chuckles and doesn’t put up a fight at all, because he understands her and still enjoys her. Maybe he’s the only remaining person in the camp who does. She’s a do-it-yourself kind of woman. Do it all by yourself.
He’s half-kissing, half-whispering against her temple and she lets it go because as with her and her self-sufficiency, he can’t help himself. He’s a lover and a fool. Hawkeye tries to love her and make love to her, even if she won’t have it and can’t accept it. And to his credit, he doesn’t ever pressure her to. He’s only doing what comes natural to him.  *** hawkeye and margaret commiserate over lost loves
“Well, what are you going to do about this?” asked Margaret after some time.
“Margaret there’s nothing to do.”
“You could tell him how you feel.”
“Why would I do a stupid thing like that?”
“You do it all the time, Pierce.”
As Hawkeye thought about this, he grew even more self-conscious. His eyes started to shift and his back stiffened up again.
“Do you think he knows?” he asked finally in the lowest tone he could muster.
“Even if he has an inkling, he’d never assume such a thing. You’d have to whack him over the head with it. Or tell him with your words.”
“How do you know?”
“I told you, I know everything,” then seeing the pleading look he gave her and appreciating how rarely he gave her such a look, she relented, “BJ’s not like us Hawkeye. He feels things just as deep, but he’s not always aware of it. And… and even if he was aware of it, that’s different than allowing it, or embracing it.”
It felt to Hawkeye like she was saying that BJ couldn’t embrace him, not for as long as Hawkeye couldn’t or wouldn’t use words to express himself. And then, maybe not even if Hawkeye did take that leap…
“Since you’re so smart,” Hawkeye stacked his tray atop hers and motioned for her to follow him out into the night, where he continued, “What do you think BJ might say if I were to… you know, use my words.”
Margaret made him wait for the response. He thought she might be thinking on it as they walked together in the general direction of her tent. As they walked, their arms brushed together, and Hawkeye naturally slipped his arm into the crook of her elbow. She allowed it, which wasn’t a good sign for him. He had to hold his breath whenever Margaret allowed him to be affectionate with her, even as a friend. Or especially as a friend. When she was friendly with him, it was because there was a blow coming from some unseen place and she liked him enough to try to soften it. ***
BJ goes to maine (derogatory)
BJ’s mind does a funny thing where it moves a mile a minute, but is focused on only one thing. It’s like when he’d first hit empty road coming out of San Francisco. Hours and hours on his bike, the peripherals whizzing by fade into nothing, until all he can see is a single fixed point in front of him.
Right now the whole world is a blur but for Hawkeye, there in the middle of BJ’s focus. It’s a nice place to be. Forced to look forward, there’s neither a war nor a wife left behind that he can remember clearly.
“Beej?” says Hawkeye, and BJ wonders if his name had always sounded like that coming from Hawkeye’s mouth. Honeyed.
BJ steps closer. Hawkeye has set down his book on the half of the double bed that is undisturbed, and he’s squinting at BJ in the low light of his reading lamp.
“Can’t sleep.” BJ says, taking another step closer, so that he’s standing directly in Hawkeye’s light.
Hawkeye clears his throat. “Need a some water?” he smiles. “A warm glass of milk? What do you do with Erin? Like father, like–”
BJ sits suddenly and looks at Hawkeye sharply. The action cuts off Hawkeye’s sentence.
“Please don’t…” BJ struggles. His focus shakes a bit, but the image doesn’t change. It’s still Hawkeye. “What’s wrong?” asks Hawkeye, innocently. He’s probably thinking BJ’s had a nightmare. Or else he thinks BJ can’t get to sleep in the first place.
“Nothing.” BJ surges home, towards his anchor, towards the beacon of light that’s always been there at the end of a long, dark tunnel. It’s taken shape at last. It’s Hawkeye, here with him, in the peace and quiet of his childhood home. He cups Hawkeye’s face with one hand as he kisses him. It feels strange to have stubble beneath his hand while he does this. But he can get used to it, he’s sure. It can grow on him. It will, because it’s Hawkeye. They’re finally back together again.
With one knee up on Hawkeye’s bed, BJ is painfully aware of the swelling in his pants, but can’t bring himself to be embarrassed about it. Not even when he shifts his weight all onto Hawkeye, and they go tumbling onto the bed, and he’s sure Hawkeye can feel his erection through the thin bedspread and their pajamas. He hasn’t allowed himself to imagine this moment, so he just goes based on instinct and maybe a few memories of being in the backseat of his father’s Chrysler. He thrusts against what he thinks might be the inside of one of Hawkeye’s thighs, or maybe it’s the lower part of his torso. Wherever it is on him, it feels good.

M*A*S*H - Viewguide, S4
Are you interested in the long-running anti-war situation tragicomedy M*A*S*H (1972-1983), but there are simply so many asterisks and so many episodes?
Well I can’t help you with the asterisks, but nor can I help myself: I started watching all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H, and bringing back for you my viewing selections, chosen for The Qualities.
— — —
In which we lose two of the three top billed cast members and gain two new ones, a couple of the regular writers and directors also seem to cycle out, and in the ensuing slightly confused flooding of our previously steady stream, Frank is sinking like one of those water-logged stumps, someone seems intent on trying to keep Margaret from also getting dragged down by him through the approach “she’s just not around again, idk,” Radar is somehow swimming up-stream and now seems several years younger than he was when we started, and Alan Alda is piping up more and more to point out the banks and steer us into deeper waters, and if he’s also maybe altering our course just a little, let him.
Meanwhile, TIMESCALE: we learn in the opening scene that the first three seasons have timelooped for "just over a year” :) elated with this data :))
And so we enter M*A*S*H, Part Two:
M*A*S*H - Season 4 Recommended sequence
4x01-02 ‘Welcome to Korea, Parts 1 and 2' - Acting CO Frank Burns really thought he was going to get to mold their new doctor Hunnicutt into a Mini Frank, but did not account for Hawkeye Pierce, on a desperate scramble to the airfield, to pick him up while still reeling and reckless from having just lost his best friend, and in this, one of the most riveting figures BJ has ever encountered. TOO LATE, he got his hands and damage all over him already! Anyway I helplessly detailed exactly what goes down in these if you are BJ Hunnicutt (BJ…Hunnicutt) in my increasingly disclosing notes, so stay tuned for that.
4x04 ‘It Happened One Night’ - Not to be a weirdo and skip to Colonel Potter already being here, but this one is really good. This is one of my quiet favorites of the season. And I think this works so much better as the one to follow the two-part premiere actually. Hawkeye and BJ aren’t quite in sync yet—this is accurate. Hawkeye and Margaret continue to get more in sync—this too is accurate. Lots of Klinger (LOTS of Klinger) (hirsute…), Radar being so irritated with the chaotic bumbling of the new private is so funny, and you’re still getting a good impression of our small, forthright new CO: regular Army, but you know what? Maybe…our regular Army. And that could rule actually. Oh: AND EVERYONE’S SO COOOLD. My fav-orite!
4x05 ‘The Late Captain Pierce’
BJ: “For he was a jolly good fellow…” Hawkeye: “I was much too young to die.”
A clerical error renders Hawkeye legally dead. M*A*S*H x Catch22 for real, murder me. And, five episodes into the new season of an episodic sitcom and they were still letting Hawkeye be torn up over those he’s lost, and have this wholly new emotional register with his new friend BJ, way longer for both than I’d thought they would let him have. But y’know, Alda got to direct this one.
4x09 ‘The Kids’ - Great TV show setup: learn things about the characters by how they read bedtime stories to dislocated orphans. If you guessed, “oh yeah, and that’s gonna create the moment where Hawkeye finally lets himself start to fall in love with BJ,” you are a better guesser than I!! But man what a good choice. Alda. (Back in the chair.)
4x10 ‘Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler?’ - I just adoooore Dr. Sidney Freedman. Any scene with Sidney in it: a balm. Here he returns for the episode in which the 4077th gets a wounded soldier who says he’s Jesus Christ. Meanwhile, Radar is now twelve.
4x16 ‘The Price of Tomato Juice’ - I was trying to describe the format of these kinds of chain of wants & favors episodes to Jody and she was like, oh, you mean it’s like the Deep Space Nine where Nog explains The Great River of Commerce. Yes exactly.
4x19 ‘Hawkeye’ - They gave the rest of the regular cast the week off and just had Hawkeye monologue with a concussion for 25 minutes, ambling around a Korean family’s farmhouse with surprisingly disconcerting candy apple red syrup creeping from his temple, live-narrating his own self-diagnosis, doing snippets of musical numbers, and just generally rambling as he tries to keep from fainting before his rescue arrives. A lot of oscillating between being about to keel over and quashing down his fear to put on a blithe front for an audience who can't even understand him, and a beautiful cow. In short, crafted for me special! I actually made this meme to explain to a friend why I was so undone by The Fabelmans (dork alert), but the thing is, it always worked because it was also about what it's about:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4x21 ‘The Novocaine Mutiny’ - Frank brings Hawkeye to trial for mutiny. He could, wildly, literally hang for this, but most of all: you bet there’s a Rashomon (scream).
4x25 ‘Deluge’ - I don’t know what to call these exactly, but they tend to do a couple of them a season. Usually, not always, they’re letter writing shows, with the letter narration forming the framework instead of an overarching plot, letting them do just a sequence of scenes somewhat related. Bullet point stories. This one however the scenes are intercut not with something else from the world of M*A*S*H, but actual historic footage from the period, in easily the most artistically experimental episode they’ve done yet. It’s all jarring juxtapositions of a very long surgical run with what was on TV back at home in 1952, with a jarring editing rhythm to match, which wasn’t fully working for me and then soooo working for me. Bit of an ‘O.R.’ echo, but so much odder and dreamier, in like a David Lynch way, and I think the sensation is well worth the list.
4x26 ‘The Interview’ - Anndd then you do this one next, which follows on the previous one almost like a brief bit of serialized storytelling. It’s all black & white and everyone is just being interviewed by a TV journalist about how they are (not) getting through it. At one point I paused to write this and let out a shaky yelp at discovering I was only 9 minutes in. At another point I had to pause to create my own break where there would normally be one just to let out mooore shaky sounds at an image Father Mulcahy had just described that will be lodged in my mind for the rest of my actual, actual life. Happy Season 4 Finale!!
Season 1 • Season 2 • Season 3 • Season 4 • To be continued

-
You sighed as you looked out the flap of your tent. A chill ran over you as the cold wet wind whipped your face. Quickly jumping out and closing your tent, you turned and began jogging across the compound. You pulled your jacket tight around your body as you squinted your eyes.
Your vision became blurry as the rain covered your glasses. Slowing down to a walk, you lifted your hand to block the rain as you made your way blindly towards the mess tent.
Loosing your balance as you slid through a muddy spot, you let out an annoyed sigh.
"Having trouble?"
Looking up at the familiar voice, you saw a figure approaching. You didn't need to see him, to know BJ was standing in front of you.
You reached out blindly. "Ever tried to walk while looking through a glass of water?"
You heard him chuckle as he came to stand beside you, looping his arm through yours. "Allow me."
Finally making it to the mess tent, you took your glasses off as you got inside, shaking the water from them as you wiped your face. Noting the crowded mess tent, you figured everyone was too afraid to make the trip back to their tents in the storm.
Following BJ, you sat down beside him at a table with Hawkeye, Potter, Radar and Margaret. The table was crowded with others, causing you and BJ to be squished together, his hand was looped around your side, holding you close.
As you wiped off your glasses, Potter looked over at you. "So, decided to swim over huh?"
You smiled and glanced down at the food on everyone plates. "Oh, you know me sir, no wind nor rain can keep me from-" you paused as you watched Hawkeye pick up something unidentifiable up with his fork, "-whatever the hell that is."
Te others chuckled as Hawkeye gestured with his fork. "Meatloaf."
You rose your brow. "I think I'll pass."
"Oh, come on, you gotta eat something." BJ said as he moved to stand up, bringing you with him. You wandered over to the food and he gestured at the options. "I'm sure there something somewhat edible here you can eat."
"Yesterday's dinner, today's lunch, or tomorrows breakfast?" You asked as you looked at the food.
BJ shrugged his shoulder with a smile. "Like I said, options."
You chuckled as you both got a tray of food and wandered back to the table. As you began to eat, everyone looked around as the loud sound of rain slowed to a gentle patter.
A chorus of pleased mummers sounded through the tent, as multiple people rose to leave quickly, in case the rain picked up again.
"You know, when you're safe and warm inside, the rains not so bad. Almost comforting in a way." Margaret said, as she sipped her coffee.
"Yeah, about as comforting as the wind that brought me here without me having to move my legs." Hawkeye scoffed.
Margaret rolled her eyes, but you smiled. "I agree Margaret. I love the rain."
"Even if it's like looking through a glass of water." BJ asked softly.
You smiled, "Yes, even then. Though, the mud puddle that almost took me out, I can live without."
"Oh, the puddles around the compound are a menace." Margret commented. "I slid three feet in one during yesterday's storm."
"I took a trip down the whole road this morning, surfed like I was on an ocean wave." Potter added on as he motioned with his hand.
"Thanks for the warnings." Hawkeye said as he rose. "I'll heed them as I wade my way back to the swamp."
As he began to move towards the exit, the rain began to pour heavily, as the wind picked up, whistling through the crack in the door.
Turning around, Hawkeye came and sat back down. "On second thought, might wait a bit."
"Right." Your voices rang out in unison.
Pulling a deck of cards from his shirt pocket he looked around. "Anyone for a game of blackjack?"
xx End xx
I didn't have much of an idea for this, so I decided to write a simple comforting fic.

D, K, R, X ✨
Thank you 💖✨
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Let's go with Flint/Silver in Black Sails. They have the most content, both canon subtext and fandom, but I just have no interest in them in a relationship. I think their dynamic just kinda leaves me cold, and it's a shame because if I was into them I probably would've been more into Black Sails as a fandom.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
I mentioned Gabrielle for this question earlier, but Hannibal might actually be the real answer, if we count falling in stupid love as character development. I mean, idk if that counts exactly since he didn't develop so much as lose the plot and change his priorities, but I sure loved the journey.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
In Mash fandom it's Hawkeye + Margaret. I love their friendship largely because I think it is a friendship of convenience and won't last beyond the war, but still genuine and interesting. It's an enemies to friends arc. And I love that Hawkeye is the one who gets the token female character on the show to open up more, and that they share a more emotionally forthcoming bond of mutual support than the other friendships on the show. It's also great as a contrast to his friendship with BJ - whereas BJ is his best friend and theirs is the most narratively important relationship on the show, BJ is emotionally withdrawn so Hawkeye gets more support from Margaret.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Lovers to enemies and/or enemies to lovers is the classic of classics. One of the few tropes that'll encourage me to get into a fandom in the first place.

Why not have a quadrangle? Hawkeye x Trapper x Charles x BJ. Might as well throw in Frank, Margaret, Mulcahy, and Klinger and really make it interesting. Even Henry’s ghost can join in. Potter is too old and Radar is too young.
See the thing is I would actually do this and I can't tell if this ask is making fun of me for that fact or not, but sincerely would with minor adjustments to the cast listed above. And quite honestly, Mulcahy got out of the Hawk bukkake fic by the skin of his fucking teeth, he was GODDAMN close.

more MASH episodes I would write if I were in charge (once again credit to @blessyouhawkeyefor the original idea)
"Dear X" episode with Margaret!! why didnt we get one!!
Radar's 20th birthday. set up the first half of the episode where it seems like everybody's too busy to do much more than give him a quick 'happy birthday' in passing, but the second half flips to everyone else's POV as they agonize over keeping the big surprise party theyre planning for him a secret. finally at the end they give him his big surprise, everybody's there and there's a big cake, Hawkeye makes a toast to Radar not being a kid anymore, very sweet and heartfelt. Radar's a bit misty-eyed but he cant stop smiling. endcap of the episode you see Radar look up like he can hear choppers, and you think you're about to get the inevitable announcement that they have to go to work... but he stops and says he doesnt hear anything. he doesnt hear anything at all. and they party all night long
BJ grapples with missing Erin's first birthday, and it's Potter who talks to him and relates to him by listing each birthday he missed of his own daughter's, and of Mildred's, while he was away in various wars
its Valentine's Day and Margaret, Klinger, and Hawkeye decide to form a Heartbreak Club and lament about their failed relationships. would have a lot of flashbacks of various friendships within the core cast (not clip-show style but more like Letters and Where There's a Will, There's a War) as the three of them realize that while they've struck out so far with romance, they've still got a whole lot of love in their lives
some sort of chaos has happened in camp and everyone's giving wildly different, contradicting accounts of what happened to Potter
some sort of chaos has happened in camp and the mystery of who's responsible is exclusively being revealed piece by piece through people talking to Mulcahy

3 idiots for the wip game!!
Based on the Bollywood film which I think everyone should watch :)
In Korea, Hawkeye and Charles got into a fight that ended with a bet: X years after the war, they will meet up and compare their success. BJ is supposed to mediate.
This time is now, and the only person to not have turned up is Hawkeye. As BJ and Charles talk, they realise neither of them has heard from Hawkeye in a while. Worried, they set off to Crabapple Cove to see if he's okay. On the way, they pick up Margaret. When Hawkeye isn't there either, they have to follow a string of clues across the continent with growing worry that something has happened to Hawkeye, with flashbacks to their time in Korea and immediately afterwards and the mental health issues Hawkeye experienced.
