クコの木や ユンボがいじめ でも生きる
I want the wolfberry tree(Kuko:枸杞) to do its best. Yumbo is a power shovel (machine tool). Perfect for mowing riverbed grass.

PS:Recently, the number of wild wolfberry trees has decreased dramatically, so I grow them in my garden. Excellent for food and medicinal use.

On the 19th, the Kamal Adwan Hospital was bulldozed by the Israelis while injured patients were still inside. They were buried alive. Now their decaying bodies, crushed beneath the rubble, feed starving cats.
The end of the year is in sight, but there is no rest for those trapped in Gaza, millions forced into an open-air prison camp with no food, water, power nor medicine. They are ravaged by disease and bombed by the 'Most Moral Army in the World'. Their hospitals are collapsing and no aid is being let in by the fascist Israeli state They are packed in like sardines, at a density of 6000 per km2, six times as many as in Beijing and fifteen times as many as in Sydney. It is one of the most densely populated places in the world and there is no way in nor out. Since October, over 20,000 people have been brutalised and slaughtered by the self-righteous and western-backed State of Israel. That's more civilians than the years-long war between Russia and Ukraine. And half of these are children. Australia, the USA, the UK and other governments of the so-called free world are ardent in their support of Israel. They do not represent the will of the people. Governments never do. It is up to us to force their hand. Our siblings, our brothers and sisters in Gaza have no choice but to resist. It is up to us to show up and be there for them.
Here is how to help them:
Attend rallies and protests. Show your discontent with your government, which needs to keep up the lie that it represents the will of the masses
Organise within your union. This has the potential to be the most devastating to the Israeli State. International industrial action in the way of boycotts and refusing services to Israel will quickly cripple and cause the State to fold
Boycott Israeli products. Check out Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Palestine. Search it up or click the top link in my Carrd
Donate to the Red Crescent and other organisations providing aid to Palestine
Educate yourself. An excellent site is Decolonize Palestine. Second link in my Carrd, or just search it up
Educate those around you It's the least we can do. From the River to the Sea! It is important to remember that Israel does not represent Jews or Judaism, despite how hard Israel has worked to blur the lines between the Jewish identity and their extermination project. Zionism=/=Judaism. Anti-zionism is good, antisemitism is not.

Can I tell y’all about the longleaf pine? Aka Pinus Palustris :D
Ranging from southern virginia down the east coast to florida and as far east as texas, the longleaf pine may have dominated as much as 90,000,000 acres.
Tumblr media
Tough and fire-resistant, these massive trees can grow to be 500 years old. Spanning miles- these pine barrens were a major part of the southeastern ecosystem.
Today, less than 3% of those forests remain.
Tumblr media
The longleaf pine is a evergreen conifer, growing to be 80-100 tall and a diameter of 3 feet. These pines get their name from their needles, having the longest of the eastern pines species.
Tumblr media
The life cycle of longleaf pines is a unique one- rather than spending their first years growing in height, they instead start as a grass. This is essential to their development- they instead focus on growing their taproot- a long central root that can grow to be 12 feet long.
Tumblr media
This root stabilizes the trees, anchoring them down through hurricanes and helping them reach groundwater throughout droughts.
After going through the grass stage, the pines begin to grow in height- entering the bottlebrush stage. At this stage they are resistant to fire, severe windstorms, pests and drought. It is these characteristics that make longleaf pines highly resistant to the effects of climate change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it's for this reason that conservation and restoration is highly important.
Beginning during colonization, forests began being cleared to make way for agriculture and development- and the exceptional lumber was used to build ships, railroads, turpentine and tar.
These forests were replaced by commercial forests full of loblolly and slash pine.
With their tall sturdy trunks and higher canopy coverage (when compared to other pine species), I consider longleaf pines to be an excellent overstory tree in a food forest system. With the litter dropped (pine cones, pine needles, bark, branches) they are excellent for compost or mulch material. There are medicinal uses for the tree, but I’m not an herbalist so I won’t get into that. Pine resin from the tree also makes a great incense, just make sure you collect it when it’s dry.

Rengoku Kyojuro x GN! Reader
He needs to learn how to stop Breathing, and focus on breathing.

Masterlist | Rebuilding the ruins of castle Me masterlist
AN: Written as Christmas gift for the dearest @benkeibear - Merry Christmas, love!
Tumblr media
“No no, you need to do it like this… See?”
Kyojuro nodded, uncharacteristically silent as he focused on your hands. You pulled the string of wool through the created loop slowly so he could catch your movement. Around and around and around and through. Right. Easy.
“Try it now.”
He took the hook and half-finished product from you and briefly marveled at the difference in size of your hands in comparison to his own. He repeated your action slowly and carefully, showing you the result right after, waiting for your appraisal.
“Very good!”
Kyojuro beamed, the room seemingly warming up with how he radiated joy. “Thank you, my love!” He went back to his crocheting, looking like an old wife for all he was a powerful and highly intelligent man. It was endearing to see him squirrel away while working on a simple scarf with a little hook and his giant hands as tools.
It was by his own prompt that you were teaching him your hobby; Kyojuro had all the time in the world on his hands now that he could no longer fight. The fight against Upper Moon 3, Akaza, had cost him an eye and half his core muscles - many things became difficult to do for the great warrior.
One of such actions was getting up from his futon. You had been lucky Tengen was over to help when Kyojuro came home the first time, or he would remain bed-bound for weeks. A short trip to the woodsmith, and a group of kakushi carried over a western type bed Kyojuro didn’t have to get up from. Even then, he required ropes which now hung from the ceiling to help him sit or lay down.
Now, thanks to all the free time he had lounging at home, when not instructing the young trio, he took up multiple stress-free hobbies that he could perform sitting down. One of which was crocheting.
“How does this look?” Kyojuro showed you a neat row of the pattern, his face smiling but his eyes slightly anxious.
There was nothing to fear, he was excellent despite - what you felt like - your horrid teaching. “It looks amazing! Well done,” you grinned after inspecting his work. It filled you with pride and happiness to share this with your husband. You had never felt warmer.
You both had been at it for another half an hour when you heard his breath come out in a wheeze. Kyojuro dropped the yarn and started to cough weakly. Immediately, you fussed over him, massaging his back muscles just like the doctor taught you to help him steady his breathing.
Your heart squeezed painfully.
“Shh, my love. Breathe for me,” you soothed him softly while the wheezing and coughs slowly ceased.
Kyojuro was never going to be able to use Total Concentration Breathing after his injury, that was an irrefutable fact. Just - sometimes he got lost in the 'mundane' he forgot he shouldn’t, couldn’t, do it anymore.
He slumped against your side in exhaustion, his frame shaking slightly under your careful embrace.
“I’m sorry, love… I lost focus again,” Kyojuro admitted with a slight flush on his cheeks, though the rest of him had gone white as a sheet from the pain.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. Do you need something to drink? Painkillers? A snack?”
Normally, he would perk up at the mention of food, but he just blinked tiredly at that. “I’m okay now. Just need some rest.”
Kyojuro was not okay. You laid him down and stood up to get him medicine and tea. Before you could take a step, his hand tugged on your nightgown. “Hm?”
“Please, stay…” He had rolled over onto his side, now able to do so since his abdomen gradually healed.
You hesitantly sat at his side and carded your fingers through his soft hair. “You should take the medicine Kocho-san got for us,” you whispered softly, as if any louder volume would spook him. “You will feel better after.”
“It makes me feel odd, like I’m not entirely myself.” Kyojuro tugged on your clothes again, urging you to lay down next to him. “I’d rather stay awake and aware.”
You complied, facing him and pulling him closer so you could watch for any minute expression on his face indicating distress - if any appeared, you would get up regardless of his protests.
Your husband gave you a gentle smile, his face gaining back some healthy color to it as you both rested for a while. A shaky hand came up to caress your cheek - the gesture full of adoration and love, nearly bringing tears into your eyes. Kyojuro’s devotion was practically visible to the naked eye.
“My love, will you teach me how to paint?” he murmured.
You hummed your agreement, making him smile a little wider.
“Good. I want to capture your loveliness on canvas. I want you to see what I see when I look at you - for there is no greater beauty than you.”
His words made blood rush to your cheeks.
Silly man.

Hi I'm hyperfixated over your zombie! Ghost and I've been reading it every hour since it was up, it's the idea of him only acting upon his own primal urges get me going 🤤 i don't know if your zombie! Ghost is a dead person who became zombie or just an infected living human but either way I'm so down!!
I thought about what if reader leaves the muzzle on him all the time and do the usual stuff, pull him by it when they walk about looking for food and medicine, loosen it a bit when he tries to eat whatever is in his zombies menu and of course tugging it backwards as you ride him 🩵
- 🌋
Anon! Your brain!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one weak for our Zombie lad. I actually have a bunch more I want to write about him, so feel free to request more for him at any point uwu
A little snippet for you below the cut <3
Words: 780
Rating: NSFW
Warnings: Teratophilia, PnV, Unprotected Sex, Muzzles.
Reminder, this is an 18+ account!
Ghost has been in quite a huff with you recently or, at least, you think he is. It’s a little difficult to tell given his difficulty stringing full sentences together after the infection ravaged his brain. He’s still cognisant and able to get his thoughts across to you (even if most of those thoughts involve being hungry or wanting to fulfil certain urges).
However, his attention span isn’t the greatest and he’s constantly getting distracted by things in your surroundings. Wandering off like a toddler at every new sound, checking to see if there’s food or a potential threat hiding around every corner. No matter how many times you ask him to try and focus, he’ll inevitably end up finding trouble.
The other zombies aren’t much of a problem since he can chase them off with a few well-placed swipes and growls to remind them of their place. It’s the other survivors you’re worried about. It’s a lawless land out here and anyone that’s survived this long knows to shoot first and ask questions later. This doesn’t bode well for your zombified partner. He’s an enemy and when he has his sights on a potential meal there’s little you can do to deter him from attacking.
Hence, it’s easier to simply keep him at your side. The muzzle works wonders for when you need to gently steer him away from distractions, even if he occasionally gets a little grumpy at having to be pulled around by his face. He can’t nose his face up against you properly when it’s in place which often makes him grumble and sigh a tad overdramatically.
You take it off when you go to sleep, after all, it wouldn't do you any good to have your guard dog unable to use his best weapons. Ghost doesn’t require sleep anymore, so he makes an excellent protector for when you’re in your most vulnerable state.
He stays with you all throughout the night, his body pressed up against your back and his arms caging you to his chest. His lips are dry and completely missing in some parts, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to lave every inch of you with kisses. A soft rumbling sound always accompanies his affections, almost a purr.
But the uses of a muzzle don’t stop at simply helping to direct your companion whenever he starts to drift away. It’s particularly useful for manipulating his face to exactly where you want it, be it away from something he wants or toward the places you require his attention.
Riding him is only more intense when you’re able to grip at the thick leather straps keeping his muzzle in place. He tries to press his mouth to your throat, but you hold him back, forcing his milky white eyes to stare directly into your own as you slowly sink down on his cock. It’s beautiful, the way his eyelids flutter and a frankly sinful groan escapes him.
“Good boy,” you coo, earning yourself a rough jerk of Ghost’s hips. He starts rocking his body up and into your warmth, his gloved hands raising to grip at your waist.
He pulls you down and onto him over and over again in time with his rapid thrusts, snarling and growling all the while. Ghost might not be able to shift his gaze from your blissed out expression, but that doesn’t mean he’s any less in control. The pace he sets is downright brutal, bullying his entire length into your sopping cunt until it nudges at your cervix.
Even when you gasp at the sensation and one of your hands grips at his hair he doesn’t faulter. Your noises seem only to urge him on, his panting breath heavy as he endeavours to draw out at many sounds from your lips as physically possible. His intense gaze from where you hold his face only heightens the experience, his eyes scrutinising each and every expression you offer.
You grow close to orgasm almost embarrassingly fast, but all it takes is a raspy, possessive, “mine,” snarled at you to have your pussy clamping down around Ghost’s cock.
With your body growing weak from coming so hard, Ghost takes full advantage of your distraction, pushing you down and onto your back without missing a single beat in his current rhythm. He keeps going all through your orgasm, the slick from your tender hole only helping to easy his way. He doesn’t let up with his desperate chanting of, “mine, mine, mine,” right up until he spills deep inside you.
Your attempts to dominate him hadn’t exactly gone to plan. Perhaps next time you should use some handcuffs as well.

run rabbit run (1)
pairing: yandere!childe x reader
warnings: unhealthy behavior/relationship, violence, nsfw
inspired by: episode 8 of the hbo series “the last of us”
summary: you are out of food as well as medical supplies, so in order to save your father, you take matters into your own hands. you unexpectedly run into a young master in the forest, who is after the same rabbit as you. since he is persistent on getting the rabbit, you make a bargain with him. he develops a liking to you and decides you are his new personal little rabbit.
Tumblr media
you breathed in the cold air of snezhnaya, the land of eternal winter ruled by the tsaritsa.
snow crunched under your boots as you roamed around the forest, looking for something to hunt.
you had nothing but a thin coat on, a pair of worn out winter boots, and a rifle slung over your shoulder like a bag. you were freezing, but you were more concerned for your father’s life than your comfort in the weather.
you see, your father had gotten injured on his way home. he fell off his horse and fell on something sharp, which caused him to have a huge gash across his stomach. you found him unconscious nearby and dragged him inside your home. you laid him on the couch by the fireplace, wrapped a piece of cloth around the area of the gash to stop the bleeding and put a blanket on top of him.
the cupboards were completely empty. no food or medical supplies in sight. his horse had ran off and you had no other transportation. there was no way you were able to walk all the way to the marketplace in the current weather, so you had no choice but to hunt for some food and find some herbs since you had no medicine as well.
“come on, come on.” you gritted your teeth in frustration, clasping your hands together and warming them up with your hot breath. “are there no animals around here?”
right on cue, a rabbit hopped out of a bush. the rabbit was beautiful. its fur was as white as the snow and its eyes were as red as gemstones.
too bad you had to kill it.
you slowly approached it, grabbing your rifle and pointing at it. as you were about to pull the trigger, you accidentally stepped on a twig. the rabbit jolted in alert at the sound and frantically hopped away.
“shit.” you cursed and ran after it.
you tried to shoot it while running after it, but an arrow came out of nowhere and pierced through its tiny body, making you stop in your tracks.
what the hell.
“excellent marksmanship, master.” you heard a gruffy voice.
“that was too easy.” followed by a cocky voice.
the man with the gruffy voice and the man with the cocky voice surrounded the rabbit. they looked like they came from a powerful house, especially the one with the ginger hair. compared to your winter outfit, they had thicker and expensive-looking coats, so no doubt they came from a powerful house.
the rich. you hated the rich.
“hey!” you shouted as you aimed your rifle at the both of them. “drop your weapons or anything you have on you, now!”
they turned their heads to find a young lady with a big, heavy rifle, cautiously approaching them.
they looked at each other in confusion.
“move a muscle and i’ll put a bullet right between your eyes.”
“excuse me, what are you doing out here? this is our territory.” the butler coughed.
“this is an open space. a forest, for christ’s sake. this isn’t your territory and neither is it mine.” you spoke strongly. “but that is my rabbit.”
the young master, instead of scoffing in disbelief at your behavior towards him, smiled. his life was boring despite being loaded, but today might be different. you had peaked his interest. he felt a sense of excitement and arousal.
“oh, is that so? is that your arrow then?” he pointed at the arrow— his arrow— which was poking out of the rabbit’s corpse.
“i told you not to move a muscle!” you aimed your rifle directly at him.
he put his hands up in surrender position, a smile still plastered on his face.
“or i swear i’ll–“
“put a bullet right between my eyes. i know.”
“if you dare do that, you will be severely punished.” the butler butted in, but shut his mouth when you glared at him and told him to “shut the fuck up.”
the young master laughed.
“you, why do you even need this? can’t you afford to eat something?” you asked.
“i don’t plan on eating this, i’m not fond of rabbit stew. my mother though, she loves lapin coats or rabbit fur coats in other words, which originated in fontaine. says it’s really soft and warm. you bear hatred towards people like me and i don’t blame you, but would you at least give this one to lil ole me? for my mother?”
“i don’t give a damn–“ wait, you could make a bargain with him. you would rather die than associate yourself with the rich, but your father’s life was on the line here, so it was either your dignity or him, and you chose him. “let’s say i accept, what would you give me in return?”
“well, what do you want?” he asked.
“medical supplies.” you answered quickly.
“that’s it?”
“and food supplies; meat, veggies, just anything nutritious.”
“alright then, my home is not too far from here…”
“no, one of you is staying here with me and one of you is going to get me what i want.”
“sheesh, alright. can’t even be hospitable with you.” he turned to his butler. “bring back a first aid kit, two bottles of penicillin, a syringe and food you can grab your hands on.”
his butler nodded, but was hesitating to leave.
“it’s not code. just do as i say.” he leaned into his ear. “why are you hesitating? do you really think a mere girl could stand a chance against me?”
“very well, master.” he sighed. he grabbed the dead rabbit and made his way back to their residence, leaving you and the young master (whose name you had yet to know) alone.
“you can lower the gun now. i don’t mean any harm.” he noticed your tense form and tried to reassure you, but you were too hardheaded.
“where’s your bow?”
“don’t know.” he shrugged.
what did he mean by that? was he messing with you? your gaze shifted onto his waistline and you saw a vision attached to his belt. a hydro vision, to be exact.
realization hit you. fuck, he was a vision user. you were lucky he didn’t have anger issues. otherwise, you would have been dead before you could even treat your father.
“where are you looking, hm?” he asked teasingly.
“nowhere.” you looked away.
he chuckled. he found you peculiar, but intriguing. you were like no other woman he had ever encountered in his life. you didn’t know who he was and how much power he held. he could snap your rifle like a twig if he wanted to. no normal civilian in their right minds would ever think to threaten him or even approach him.
“so, what’s your name?”
“nunya.”
“what–“
“nunya business.”
“pfft. come on, i’ll tell you mine. my name is childe or tartaglia, whichever you prefer.”
“uh huh, what about i call you dickface? that suits you better.” you remarked. “master dickface.”
again, he wasn’t the least bit offended. he was amused. strangely amused.
what kind of man did you run into?

I'm doing a College class on Ancient Foods. My focus is on Honey like the different recipes and usages in Medieval era. I found like a couple recipes, a thing on religious relation ("Milk and Honey of Paradise") /Crusades, medicinal use, and possibly bees/beeswax because I was struggling to get something.
Y'all have any recommendations?
(I've brought Zoe in on this one; the following is a collaborative effort. Also I'm assuming you have access to your university library so you can get ahold of the cited material below quickly and for free.)
Can you include beverages? Honey is the main ingredient in mead, which should give you a lot to talk about. Susan Verberg is the premier researcher on medieval mead, and has some excellent works on both mead making and honey production. She has a website at https://medievalmeadandbeer.wordpress.com/ where you can find both her formal publications and her blog.
If you do want to talk about beverages, there were other medieval drinks that used honey. Some citations for you:
Breeze, Andrew. “What Was ‘Welsh Ale' in Anglo-Saxon England?” Neophilologus, vol. 88, no. 2, 2004, pp. 299–301.
Fell, Christine E. “Old English ‘Beor’." Leeds Studies in English, vol. 8, 1975, pp. 76-95.
You can also go into cultural symbolism; here are a couple on that:
Enright, Michael J. Lady with a Mead Cup: Ritual, Prophecy, and Lordship in the European Warband from La Tène to the Viking Age. Four Courts Press, 2013.
Rowland, Jenny. “OE Ealuscerwen/Meoduscerwen and the Concept of ‘Paying for Mead'." Leeds Studies in English, vol. 21, 1990, pp. 1-12.
Also you might want to look into the general concept of the "mead of poetry" from the Old Norse sources. You can find the origin story for that in the Prose Edda, I believe.
Definitely check out https://www.foodtimeline.org for recipes with honey during the period - they have more than you'd expect. There's also a few medieval cookbooks you can parse through. Here's an online one you can sort through that does a great job modernizing the translations: https://www.medievalcookery.com/etexts.html
As for honey itself -- there's actually quite a bit of research on that! Honey was quite a specialized trade, and most of the medieval world used it for sweetener, so there's a good amount of research.
A few leads:
honey as an alternative to sugar, which was expensive, imported, and could indicate class
honey grading: honey was graded based on location/provenance, type (lavender, orange blossom, etc.), and also by grade. However, their method of grading was very different to our modern one.
honey as a preservative, not just for flavor
Articles on this subject:
(DEFINITELY this one!!) Fava, Lluis Sales, et al. “Beekeeping in Late Medieval Europe: A Survey of Its Ecological Settings and Social Impacts.” Anales de La Universidad de Alicante. Historia Medieval, no. 22, 2021, pp. 275-96, https://doi.org/10.14198/medieval.19671.
Wallace-Hare, David, editor. New Approaches to the Archaeology of Beekeeping. Archaeopress, 2022. JSTOR, https://doi.org/10.2307/j.ctv2b07txd.
Verberg, Susan. “Of Hony: A Collection of Mediaeval Brewing Recipes for Mead, Metheglin, Braggot, Hippocras &c. — Including how to Process Honey — from the 1600s and Earlier,” 2017. Academia.edu.
If you want to look more into the medicinal usage, Cockayne's Leechdoms, Wortcunning, & Starcraft collects all the medical & scientific texts of the Old English period. It's old enough to be public domain, so it's available on the Internet Archive and HathiTrust in searchable form, meaning you can just ctrl-F "honey" and see what comes up.
Let us know how it goes!

About the request part. Is it okay if I ask for Platonic Yandere Strawhats with Y/n who is like not against them but also passively distrustful? By that I mean, Y/n doesn't answer to their affection and doesn't seek it , also doesn't really fight against them and doesn't speak much?
Strawhats with a distrusting reader
To make this a little easier on me, I'm going to write this character by character.
Luffy:
Luffy values trust among anything else, so if you didn't trust him, he'd be a little put off. He tries everything to make you trust him and open up to him, he'd even go as far as forcing you to talk to him on days where you're really quiet. He isn't trying to be mean or make you feel uncomfortable, he just really wants you to feel comfortable around him, and he knows bottling up all your emotion won't do anything to help.
Zoro:
Zoro is also pretty quiet, so he understands guarding your emotions to protect yourself. What he doesn't get is why you don't trust any of them, especially after you've known them for so long. He understands him and his friends are strange, but he doesn't get why you don't understand that all they want to do is protect you. He doesn't want to use force, but like Luffy, is you refuse to open up to him, he will force you too.
Nami:
Nami doesn't really understand why you don't trust them, until she remembers that they literally kidnapped you. So, she doesn't hold it against you when you when you flinch at the sight of them or hide when you see them. She wants to gain your trust naturally through protecting you and keeping you safe, regardless of her fears. Her heart soars when you get closer to her and don't seem as fearfully around her and will secretly rub it in others faces.
Chopper:
Chopper is a sweetheart, so it's hard not to trust him, however, he hates that you don't. It eats him up inside that you don't feel safe around him and like Robin, does everything possible to make you feel comfortable. He lets you read the ingredients of medicine to prove its not poison, he'll always treat your wounds first, and makes sure you're in top health always. If you don't come to eventually trust him, he isn't afraid to manipulate you with some tears.
Sanji:
Sanji is one that also feel bad about you not trusting him but understands why you don't. He offers to have conversations with you about how he and the others can make your stay with them better but doesn't listen when you say you want to go home. He tries to make the ship feel like a new home to you, making you familiar food and listening to stores about your time before them.
Usopp:
Usopp uses humor to make you trust him, hoping to pain himself as a nice guy who just wants to make you happy, which is the truth for once. Whenever you're really quiet, he'll crack a joke in the hope you giggle and forget about your time without them. In his eyes, by doing this he is slowly breaking down your walls and making him and his friends seem less like bad guys.
Robin:
Robin doesn't care that you don't trust her, all she cares about is that you're with her, and you're safe. While she would prefer you to feel comfortable around her, she doesn't care if you hate her guts and never talk to her. This doesn't prevent her from manipulating you though, she will still use your fears against you since she is excellent at reading you.
A/n: Thank you for requesting, hopefully this was good.

Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Character Book: Trails of the Kings and Retainers Gira/Douga, Yanma/Shiokara, Hymeno/Sebastian pages Other pages
Tumblr media
This is the story of the kings and their retainers who protected the peace of Chikyu… It's unknown who said it, but there's a prophecy:
"After 2,000 years, a miraculous story will be revived!"
Humans and Bugnarak living hand in hand… It was not just the power of the 6 kings who stood up to the threat that created such a "miracle." It was the presence of the king's retainers that made it possible. I'll write down how it happened here. Let us pass it down for all of eternity.
Tumblr media
Shuggodam, King: Gira Husty The "strongest country," possessing many strong soldiers, and his retainer, Douga, is also very skilled. The Husty family has inherited the throne for generations, and when they ascend to the throne, they visit the Kingdom of Death, Hakabaka, in order to greet their ancestors. The previous king was Gira's older brother, Racules Husty.
N'Kosopa, King: Yanma Gast The country of technology, where the current king, Yanma, built a system in just a few years. The country was devastated by Hilbil Leech, one of the Uchu Five Jesters, but is now on the road to recovery, led by Yanma, who is skilled in creating 1 from 0, and his retainer, Shiokara.

Profile of Shiokara: Yanma's retainer who has a friendly personality. He has the utmost respect for Yanma. Until a few years ago, he was a member of a delinquent organization that was in despair over the ruined country, and was involved in the manufacture of counterfeit money, but when he met Yanma, he fell in love with his manly spirit, and is determined to serve him, even if it means losing his life.

She invites her close friends to tea and enjoys her time with them.
Profile of Sebastian: Hymeno's retainer. His true identity is a young man named Romane Dearborn, heir to a ducal family. When he was worried about hurting people because of his overly beautiful appearance, Hymeno saved him, and changed his appearance and voice to become her retainer. For the sake of Hymeno, his benefactor, he will listen to any selfish request.

Medicinal Remedies
Medicinal Remedies-- This is a LONG one!
NOTE: This article is about 20 of my favorite medicinal healing herbs to grow in most garden areas and types of soil. There are 100’s more, though, that I just couldn’t include because of space. Enjoy this rundown of 20 of my favorites.
Tumblr media
1) Calendula:
Calendula is one of my top five favorite herbs of all time. It's sunny yellow or orange face can't help but make me smile. In summer time, it grows like crazy, just about anywhere, and like other flowers, the bees love it.
Calendula has some super skin healing and strengthening properties, and I always have some infusing in olive oil in a sunny window for use in salves, soaps, and other body products.
Calendula is also edible, and it's so fun to toss some blooms in your salad! It really brightens things up and adds excellent color. I love Calendula.
Calendula just makes you smile.
2) Cayenne:
Here is another herb I think should be in every garden. Cayenne is a very hot and pretty red pepper with some excellent culinary uses for adding spice to foods.
It's also great for helping with circulatory problems, can be used to help stop bleeding since it's a hemostatic herb, and has been shown to be useful in helping slow or even stop a heart attack until help can arrive.
It's also a very attractive plant, and the bright red of the pepper is just gorgeous mixed Into the dark green of the plant's leaves. This is one herb you should definitely grow if you can, and have handy in your herbal medicine chest.
Cayenne grows like crazy, especially in warmer climates. They dry well, too.
3) Chamomile:
Like Lavender, what would an herbal garden be without sweet Chamomile? It's honey scent and sweet taste are an absolute pleasure. Besides that....Chamomile is a popular relaxant and mild sedative herb.
Need to de-stress? Drink a bit of Chamomile tea!
Chamomile is also useful as an anti-inflammatory, as it contains high levels of azulene. It helps with pain relief, including for arthritis. If you are heading to bed and are bothered by mild pain, try drinking some chamomile tea! In one clinical study, this helped 10 out of 12 people fall into a restful sleep. (Gladstar)
Growing Chamomile can be tricky in very hot climates. It likes full sun, but a cooler climate. Chamomile is also best grown in less maintained soil and doesn't need the rich fertilization other plants require.
4) Chickweed:
Chickweed is another one of those "weeds" that is completely misunderstood and has some excellent medicinal qualities.
It's Latin name, (stellaria) means "star," and that is because of its small, pretty starlike white flowers. It's easy to grow, and has many uses.
Chickweed supports liver and kidney health due to its high nutrition and diuretic properties. It's also wonderful in salves for healing skin issues, including rashes, eczema, and very dry skin.
Chickweed is a great diuretic and blood purifier.
5) Dandelion:
This prolific weed, as some people see when they notice Dandelion in their yard, is actually a powerfully helpful medicinal herb! Dandelion is terrific for your liver and kidney health, having diuretic properties.
It's also an edible plant! You can roast the roots and add it to teas and even your coffee for a delicious flavor that also packs a healthy punch. The leaves can be eaten in salads and other foods.
6) Feverfew:
Feverfew has lovely white flowers and at least where I live, is rather invasive. I don't mind, though, because it has a great number of medicinal benefits.
As its name connotes, feverfew is helpful with reducing fevers. Most recently, however, feverfew has become rather well-known for helping with migraines, both preventing and reducing the intensity and time.
One of my favorite teas to provide for people who suffer from migraines is: 1 part feverfew, 1 part spearmint, and 1 part lemon balm. This is a soothing, nervine combination, that along with the powers of feverfew, can be used as daily tonic.
Feverfew is also great for minor bug bites. Just apply the tincture topically. Since it has mild pain relieving properties, it will help with the discomfort too.
7) Garlic:
Garlic is one of the BEST all around medicinal herbs anyone can grow, in my opinion. It's useful for treating colds, flus, sore throats, and digestive issues. Garlic boosts the immune system by increasing and stimulating the production of white blood cells.
Garlic is antiseptic, anti-bacterial, and vermifuge (kills parasites). It is also useful as a blood purifier and helps promote healthy circulation. It may also help regulate blood sugar levels in those with type 2 diabetes.
Besides all these wonderful benefits, garlic is delicious! It's added to so many foods and dishes because of the flavor it imparts. Granted, using garlic medicinally is different than in culinary uses, but if you really want to "eat thy medicine," as Hippocrates famously stated, garlic is a great place to start.
8) Ginger:
Oh, what would the herb world be without Ginger? This sweet and spicy pungent herb is actually a rhizome, not a root, as many believe. The useful part grows under ground, so is often confused.
Ginger is stimulating and is a great additive for teas, tinctures, and fermented foods, as well as culinary uses. Ginger is anti-inflammatory, decongesting, and increases circulation, promoting warmth. Ginger is also excellent for flatulence and stomach issues, including nausea.
Ginger likes a tropical environment---hot and humid. Therefore, unless you live down South, Ginger would most likely need to be grown in a green house.
9) Lavender:
What would the herbal world be without lavender? It's good for SO many things. Lavender smells wonderful, the bees love it, it's great for medicinal uses, AND it's a gorgeous flower. Lavender is useful for air freshening and cleaning the air or freshening closed up places such as drawers. It's popular in sachets for this reason.
Lavender is actually relatively hardy, growing well in Zones 5 through 8. If you are in a colder zone, be sure to plant your lavender in an area where it will get plenty of sunshine and be as warm as possible. If your winters are rough, you'll need to provide your lavender with some type of protection, especially from harsh winds.
I had some planted in pots here in the mountains, and it did very well all summer long. Even through snows, it was fine. But we get wind speeds over 125 miles an hour at times, and lavender just didn't last through that. Not much will, I guess.
Lavender is useful for so many things---AND it smells incredible.
10) Lemon Balm:
Lemon Balm....I LOVE this species of mint. It smells lovely, the bees love it, and it grows well nearly everywhere. Lemon Balm has a pleasant lemony taste and is a great additive in herbal teas, both for the nutritive value as well as the soothing nature and relaxing effects it has on the body.
11) Marshmallow:
This probably isn't included in too many herbalist's garden lists, but I think Marshmallow is seriously necessary. It's a demulcent and soothing herb, and it complements "hotter" herbs very well. It also soothes inflammation in mucous membranes and is one of my favorite herbs to use for allergy blends or teas for any kind of inflammation in the body for this reason.
Marshmallow is an upright plant, similar to a very small hollyhock. In fact, if you can grow hollyhocks where you are---you can use it pretty much interchangeably with Marshmallow as their chemical constituents are very similar.
The flowers are light pink and very pretty, too. The entire plant is edible and useful for medicinal purposes. Go ahead and throw a few flowers into your salad for a beautiful and surprising presentation!
Marshmallow is a demulcent anti-inflammatory. Plus, it's pretty.
12) Mullein:
This is yet another plant many see as just a weed, but has some truly wonderful medicinal qualities. Mullein is a plant that grows from a rosette of fuzzy large leaves into a tall stalk (sometimes as high as 7 feet tall) and is covered with yellow flowers in mid-summer.
Mullein does best in full sun, with lots of water, in cooler areas. It grows really well in the creek beds up here in our mountains, but I've heard it is very common in almost all places. It's worth trying to cultivate, in my opinion, if you don't have it growing naturally in your area.
Mullein is one of the best herbs you can use to support and heal the respiratory system and illnesses that affect the lungs, sinuses, and breathing. It's useful as a tea, tincture, and the large leaves can be used in an emergency to cover a poultice.
In my opinion, Mullein is the premier herb for respiratory issues.
13) Oregano
Oregano seems to be the bane of many gardener's existence. They plant it, and it just goes crazy. I can't tell you how many neighbors, family members, and friends have given me Oregano from their yards over the years! And I'm glad to have it! The thing with Oregano is you have to know how to manage it.
Oregano is a fabulous culinary herb, and if you have ever had pizza or marinara sauce, then you've tasted this delicious Mediterranean herb. Oregano grows best in warm, dry climates, but I have found in my experience that it is quite hardy and can survive winter lows in the single digits (at least it does in my yard).
Oregano (also known as Mountain of Joy in Greek) has some excellent medicinal uses, including having anti-viral, anti-biotic, anti-fungal properties, as well as being very high in anti-oxidants. It's a great skin care herb and also a digestive aid.
Oregano can be used in many forms, too: As a tincture, an herbal infused oil, eaten in foods, and as an essential oil. These all have different strengths, potencies, and uses.
The tincture is an easy way to use the herb medicinally, along with making or using in an herbal tea.
14) Peppermint:
Super easy to grow just about anywhere, Peppermint is a spreading perennial that has the propensity to take over your garden if you allow it! It's spicy, pungent scent is well known to just about everyone, since it's a popular culinary additive in many foods and candies.
Medicinally, Peppermint is useful for aiding digestion and getting rid of flatulence (gas). It has mild anti-spasmodic properties, so if you are experiencing cramps, especially digestive types or menstrual cramps, it can be very helpful.
15) Plantain:
Here is another weed that many people find repugnant, but that is actually an incredibly useful medicinal herb!
According to Rosemary Gladstar, Plantain grows everywhere, and if you invite it in, it will definitely show up.
Plantain is great for liver health, detoxifying and cleansing the blood, and drawing out toxins. I like to infuse it in oil for use in healing salves.
Like Dandelion, this easy to find weed is edible and useful.
16) Rosemary:
Rosemary is a famous culinary herb, and is great for use on red meats and very pungent dishes. Besides this, rosemary has been proven to be helpful for the brain, especially memory functions.
It's high in anti-oxidants, and has mild analgesic (pain relief) properties. Rosemary is a stimulant herb, and is helpful with circulation and low blood pressure. People with high blood pressure need to exercise caution using rosemary medicinally.
Rosemary grows best in hot, dry climates and is native to the Southern European countries.
Besides being a pungent and delicious culinary herb, rosemary provides medicinal qualities and enhances memory.
17) St. John's Wort:
St. John's Wort is a misunderstood plant, in my opinion. It went through a popular phase a few years ago and was touted as being the new natural anti-depressant. St. John's Wort can absolutely help with feelings of mild depression, sadness, grief, and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), but it's not a cure-all.
Important to know---St. John's Wort can interact with certain drugs, so be sure you discuss usage with your doctor (as you should with any of these herbs mentioned).
St. John's Wort is also great for neuralgia, and I personally use it as part of my back pain and sciatica regimen with excellent results. I also use it in a tincture form to lift my spirits if I'm feeling down.
Besides all the medicinal qualities of St. John's Wort, it's a really pretty plant. You won't be able to grow it in a super hot area, however, at least it's unlikely. I tried growing it in Las Vegas, and it was a total fail. However, it does well here in the mountains in full sun or partial shade and the cooler climate.
One of my favorite ways to prepare St. John's Wort is as an herbal infused oil. The medicinal species (H. perforatum) releases bright red juices into the oil, creating the most lovely infused oil.
Another safety note for the garden: St. John's Wort has been shown to have potential for phototoxicity, especially in grazing animals if they eat too much. Just be aware and watch what your pastured animals eat.
St. John's Wort is a wonderful healing herb that positively affects the emotions.
18) Thyme:
Thyme, in my opinion, is one of the best plants to use in your garden. It attracts bees, smells lovely, and is incredibly useful for medicinal purposes. It's a small, spreading herb (although some species will grow upright) that is fairly hardy, so if you have rough winters, it may do just fine---you'll be seeing it again in the Spring, with it's pretty scented purple flowers.
Many herbalists forget all about using thyme as a preventative medicinal herb or for helping heal quickly from colds and flus---but it has been shown to fight off colds.
It also has disinfectant properties, and can be used as an effective wash for skin infections or as great sore throat rinse. For medicinal purposes, Thymus vulgaris or Thymus citriodorus (Lemon Thyme) are the best to use.
19) Valerian:
This stately flowering plant can grow to about four feet tall and has lacy white flower clusters. Not only is it a lovely addition to your garden, but it is very useful. It's a strong but safe sedative and is very useful for helping with anxious feelings, sleep issues, and pain relief.
Contraindications: Valerian has the opposite effect on some people, so if you are using it for the first time, do so on a the eve of a day that won't affect you much. These folks are rare, but there are definitely some that don't tolerate it well.
One of nature's best gifts---Valerian is lovely and it is an excellent safe sedative.
20) Yarrow:
Yarrow has many tiny flowers that grow in bunches, and feathery grayish leaves. It's a very pretty plant for your garden. Besides, the parts that grow above ground (leaves, stems, flowers) have medicinal purposes and have been used for thousands of years.
Yarrow is a vulnerary, hemostatic herb. Besides helping with healing and clotting of wounds, yarrow is good for helping reduce fevers, hay fever, and fighting colds. As a fever reducer, it is important to note that yarrow induces sweating, so if the person already has a hot fever, yarrow is probably not the best choice to use.

Here's how my grandma and I try to live a low waste lifestyle in the city
First thing is we reuse everything. We have a portion of our shelves dedicated to holding plastic food containers we have washed and are waiting to be used to hold leftovers, dried foods, as seed starting pots, etc. We also save any and all jars to hold dried herbs and food products.
Actually reuse is a big thing for us. We shop at places that use paper bags, which I then cut up to use as scrap paper for grocery lists, etc and then compost after that. We also have a small container with rubber bands from products, bread ties, etc.
If you can afford the start up costs and have the space, preserving your own food is excellent. We have a really small garden that produces a lot of food every year. My favorites are dehydrating (using a dehydrator that is at least 30 years old from back when my grandpa was into making jerky), freezing, and canning.
Also, use every bit of food. Right now in the freezer I have bags of apple cores and peeling, pear cores and peeling, and peach peels along with bags of bones and veggie scraps for broths. The fruit scraps will go towards making big batches of jelly when canning season is over. I'll probably use the pulp leftover to dehydrate and powder to add to baked goods following a success with crabapple jelly pulp. I've also made spaghetti sauce out of tomato peels. Anything rotting or absolutely unusable gets tossed in the compost.
Reusables!! Obviously in today's world you can't avoid plastic but you can reduce how much you use. We use reusable produce bags that I made out of scrap Tulle, reusable grocery bags, water bottles, ziploc bags, etc.
If you have a yard or space, composting is a big one! My grandma says she never realized how much food we tossed until we started one. You don't even have to spend money on it! I know people who use totes they drilled holes into, just toss it In a hole in their garden, etc. The one I use is an old hose winder (one of those cube ones( that broke and my work was going to toss. All I did was cut out the hose winding part and paint it pretty and it's held up for 2 years and counting so far.
Hang dry clothes. In summertime we almost exclusively dry our clothes on a line or on a clothes drying rack I found at a yard sale.
Keep your heat or ac a few degrees higher or lower depending on the season. This helps save energy being used to heat or cool your house.
Wash clothes in cool or cold water. I've been doing this for years and haven't noticed a difference.
Repair. You don't have to be a sewing genius to quickly repair a small tear, especially if it's just for household wear. A great winter time hobby to pick up when gardening season is over.
Trade! This can be as simple as hosting a clothing swap all the way up until trading items u grew/made for items they did! I barter with my coworkers all the time, just talk to them! I never would have known my coworker kept bees if she didn't really like my jellies and proposed a trade. I also trade any of my soft produce I don't have time to do anything with to my coworker with rabbits in exchange for poop for the garden.
Try to be in season from local sources such as garden stands, or just a local grocery store. One of our local farms grew bell peppers and was selling then 2 for a dollar! So we stocked up and dehydratedand froze lots of peppers for winter stews
Blended pumpkin guts makes an excellent pumpkin puree, even if you're just adding little bits of it to your dog's food :)
You can freeze a lot of stuff! Leftover spaghetti sauce, pumpkin puree, etc can all be frozen in a muffin pan and then put in bags for future use!
Forage! I personally mostly forage for greens and a few mushrooms I am confident in my ability in but that still bulks up your food supply as well as medicine supply! I made a salve using bartered beeswax and spring purple dead nettle and summer plantain (and some tea tree EO) for cuts and scrapes and it works miracles! My coworkers love it as well as friends and family
We really try to live by the waste not, want not and use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without phrases. Just figure out what works best for the life you live! Be creative!

WIP Wednesday
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another excerpt from my Mysterious Lotus Casebook longfic!
This week, enjoy Fang Duobing trying to get Di Feisheng to take care of himself by explaining how it will help Li Lianhua take care of himself. (AKA. FDB's Caretaking 101 for DFS). (You can find earlier excerpts here.)
**
Fang Duobing sniffled, picked up the cloth once more, and got to work. At least the cabinet was almost blood-free. Only one stain left.
“What did you mean about Xiangyi and help?” a-Fei asked on Fang Duobing’s third pass over the stain.
Fang Duobing’s hands stopped mid-scrub. Did a-Fei even have any caretaking experience? Either giving or receiving? Or had he just always used qi to heal everything, so recuperation was never an issue? Starting from the most basic level and working up to the question was probably the best move.
He started scrubbing the stain again, willing his hands and voice to be steady. “Li Lianhua will need rest, right? And sleep, and food, and medicine.”
“Obviously. He’s healing.”
Well, at least a-Fei knew that much.
“It took me a decade to recover from my duel with Xiangyi, Duobing,” a-Fei said, his tone as dry as the basin was wet. “I’m familiar with the process.”
A decade? So he really had been in seclusion all that time. Wait–Li Lianhua had injured him that badly and he wanted another duel? How did that make any sense? He mentally shook himself and tried to find the thread of the conversation again before he could spiral off in a different direction. “Alright. I’m assuming the Medicine Demon or someone was overseeing your healing. Did you actually follow his orders?”
“Of course,” a-Fei said, as though he were the sort of person to take orders from anyone.
He was kidding, wasn’t he? Fang Duobing craned his head over his shoulder to take a look. No annoyingly attractive smirk or eyebrow raised in challenge in sight. Huh. He’d try to make sense of that later. “Well . . . good for you,” he said, facing forward again. “Li Lianhua won’t. He wouldn’t even before the situation with his shiniang. It’s not only giving away qi he couldn’t spare to heal people. He tries to squirm his way out of receiving help all the time, and always pushes himself too far, long past any reasonable limit.” Sound like anyone else you know, a-Fei? “I don’t think he knows how to do things any other way. So instead of accidentally encouraging him to hurt himself, what if we do the opposite? Practice accepting help, even if we don’t need it to survive, so he feels less guilty about needing it?”
Silence. He forced himself to keep scrubbing and wait. If a-Fei needed time, then that’s what he’d give him.
“What are you suggesting?” a-Fei asked at last.
Fang Duobing blinked at the cloth in his hand. “Um,” he said, frantically casting around for something to follow it, as all his ideas fled. “It doesn’t need to be anything big. Simple things count. For instance, you could ask me to hand you something if it’s nearer to me. Or tell me to go away when you need alone time. And I could ask you to make me medicine if I wasn’t feeling well. Or meditate when we’re low on qi, sleep when we’re worn out. That sort of thing.” He winced internally. No wonder his Niang liked to say he was as transparent as water.
Well, since he’d come this far, he might as well commit. “All I’m saying is that it might help Li Lianhua as well as yourself if you don’t try to push yourself to your absolute limit. Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to. Or that you should. And you don’t need to, because I’m here. And you shouldn’t if you don’t want Li Lianhua to think he needs to do the same thing. He deserves to rest. And if we can show him what that looks like, then isn’t that the responsible thing to do?”
A-Fei made a faint hum that could have meant anything from ‘excellent point, Xiaobao’ to ‘I think you’re an idiot.’
Who was he kidding? It was probably the latter.
Fang Duobing squeezed the handkerchief over the bowl. The water turned purple as the paint and blood mixed together. He waited.
No new sounds from a-Fei. Just the whisper of his fingers through Huli Jing’s fur.
Fang Duobing swallowed back a sigh. At least he’d tried. “I’m going to go dump this,” he said, standing up. “I’ll be back soon.” He started for the door.
“Wait.”
Fang Duobing stilled. “What?”
A-Fei stared at him for a long moment, something complicated lurking under his almost neutral expression. “Clean the blood off your face first,” he said at last.
“Oh. Good point.” He dug out his own handkerchief from his robe–the other one had splinters in it now–dunked it, and wiped it across his cheek. “Better?”
“Almost,” a-Fei said, pointing to a spot near his temple and another across his forehead.
Fang Duobing wiped wherever a-Fei pointed until he finally nodded his approval. “Thanks.” He was about to leave, but then the candlelight hit a-Fei’s cheekbone in exactly the right way to make the teartrack from earlier glisten. Of course a-Fei hadn’t taken the time to clean up, either. “Did you want to–”
A-Fei shook his head.
So much for acknowledging limits or asking for help. “Right. Never mind.” He left without waiting for a response.

Save a Palestinian family with an autistic child
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Message from the creator:
Karam six with three siblings. He's autistic. And he's currently in a refugee camp in Gaza after being displaced several times.
He needs your help. We need to get him out.
He is barely surviving in the horrific war zone that is Gaza.
He's already lost his home. It's rubble.
He's lost all his cherished possessions, anything that brings him comfort, his toys and clothes. Moreover his parents lost everything they own and their source of income.
Even his pet cat is gone. His world has been annihilated.
Karam is terrified. It's a miracle he's still alive. All this in addition to lack of food, lack of water, and lack of medicine! We may not have much time.
He’s trapped in one of the most dangerous places on Earth for a child.
The majority of those killed and wounded in Gaza have been children.
Lamar his 14-year-old sister.. also suffering the pain of war.. she also lost everything she cherished...all her paintings, her equipment, and her favorite things gone to ruins as well as her pet cat. Now she's trying to cope by going back to art...but doesn't have any tools...and where they're staying is uncomfortable and not suitable for art... but all she can think about is her little brother, Karam....she wishes he could resume his treatment and rehab...
Jawad is 11.. he was top of his class.. he's very ambitious... Very smart and intelligent.. joins every extra curricular activity ... He's been out of school since the beginning of the war...
Aser is 7.5 .. he excels in math... He loves his little brother and takes care of him.. He also missed school...
This family lost their home. It's rubble. They lost their source of income...they lost their normal life.. they lost everything....!
To bring Karam and his immediate family to safety. To secure a home and a chance for a normal life. He needs to go to school. He needs to continue his treatment.
Traveling for Palestinians living in Gaza is very difficult and expensive due to the embargo enforced. They need to cross through Rafah port to Egypt (which alone costs a small fortune), then fly to Jordan where he can continue his treatment with his Doctor (specialist) there, and where all the children may rejoin school.
This contribution is the barrier between Karam and a life away from the trauma and constant fear of injury and death.
The urgency to act cannot be overstated.
Karam’s situation is critical, with the ongoing conflict threatening his life daily.
His family, doing everything within their power to protect him and his siblings, are desperate for a lifeline.
They are fighting not just for survival but for a chance at a life where war does not dictate their existence.
YOUR HELP IS CRITICAL
Your contribution will be the difference between life and death, between continued trauma and the promise of recovery.
