Dead Island 2 Slayers X Reader Headcanons.

Amy:

-Always tries to make sure you eat right for a day of surviving the undead. Amy also likes to take the time to show you how to properly limber up and run so you don’t pull a muscle during an attack or a retreat from the undead.

-Amy isn’t afraid to let you touch her prosthetic leg, so long as you ask nicely and don’t tug on it.

-When things get tough, Amy has a thousand little pick-me-up phrases and feel good mottos she can give you that she’s said to herself many times.

-When fighting he undead Amy likes to hit and run, picking the zombies down one by one (Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee). But she will go all out if she spots you being cornered or pushed too hard by the swarm.

Bruno:

-Will always compliment your music choices even if he doesn’t actually like them, and is always the first one to suggest blaring music loudly when you find a working car and can drive around the zombies. His main choice seems to be some song called “Stay Alive’ which he was playing on his phone before the plane crash.

-Phone is now full of selfies with you, but only the ones that make you look good and got the right filters on, so everyone can see you as he sees you.

-Bruno is not the most gun savvy person and tends to shoot it gangsta style, if you can teach him the right way to use one (especially proper gun-safety) he will appreciate it, especially after the two of you start stacking Zeds left and right.

-Promises that once this is all over, you and him are gonna hit it big on the internet. He’s gonna make a song about you.

Carla:

-After swearing so much at the undead, or at dickish survivors, she decided to teach you Spanish, starting with every swear she knows and even some new ones. But when you are alone together, she will also teach you by whispering sweet (or even dirty) things in Spanish to you and telling you to translate it.

-Once punched out another survivor for getting too handsy with you, and afterwards will start teaching you how to properly fight with someone.

-Will always offer a comforting touch, even if she can be a little rough around the edges. Gives the best hugs out of the group, but don’t tell anyone.

-Is going to teach you to ride a motorcycle, so you can get the same rush as she does from her bike, but also so you can get away quickly if things go bad.

Dani:

-Will teach you how to drink like you mean it, but is willing to start with the weaksauce stuff if you are hesitant to drink during the apocalypse.

-Can play up her accent if you want, but it tends to happen when she gets very angry, to the point even she doesn’t know what she said.

-Is constantly trying to decide what kind of tattoos would look good on you, and promising you it doesn’t hurt.

-Promises you that if you both survive this, she’s gonna make you part of the Blood Faeries.

Jacob:

-Normally doesn’t like to put his cigars out for anyone, but will do so for you. If only because he wants to make a good impression.

-Loves clearing out, fancy, mansions in LA of zombies and turning them into a safehouse where you and him can have a great time together just eating the food, watching the movies and raiding anything there for some fun. Its important to keep a happy mindset during the apocalypse.

-When raiding for supplies, he will go out of his way to find things he knows you like and bring them back, which is slowly turning the both of you into loot goblins and packrats. You’re gonna need a bigger bag or storehouse for all the stuff you’ve picked up.

- Even when he’s feeling down, he forces himself to smile through it, but the smile becomes much more genuine when you are around.

Ryan:

-Genuinely afraid of all the undead overwhelming LA, but will put on a brave face so that you aren’t scared. Eventually he won’t have to fake it, and will genuinely be brave, especially with you around.

-You genuinely thought he was a real firefighter, until you noticed his helmet was a toy. He loves going over that story and sometimes sharing his craziest stories from his career as a male stripper.

-Wants to survive the apocalypse and show you off to his brother and boast about how badass you are for having survived alongside him.

-Will only pull out his old stripper dance moves when in a safezone, and only if he’s 110% sure no one will barge in.

All purpose Headcannons:

-They will love you regardless of if you are ‘Immune’/a ‘Numen’, or not. They care about you for who you are, not what you are. And if the other group of (evil?) Numen try to step between them and you, then those bastards have another thing coming.

-They tend to let you handle the radio calls when it involves civilians in danger, or them trying to sell their ‘Hero Services’ out to any survivors in LA.

-Movie Night back at Emma’s mansion is the highlight of the week now, with everyone voting over what movie to watch. There tends to be a trend of the longer movies being chosen, so that the group can forget about the chaos outside a little longer.

-The excitement you sometimes show when you nerd out over something is also a welcome distraction and has led to in depth nerdy debates even in the middle of fighting against swarms.

-The group is slowly turning Patton’s bunker into a second home/safehouse for survivors.

-None of them can decide on a group name for themselves.

-If the group encounters other survivors they feel are dangerous, they might start closing ranks around you subconciously to keep you safe.

-If you have loved ones outside of the Quarantine Zone, they will do their best to make sure they know you are okay and will be taking care of you.

-Someone is gonna make a scrapbook of all the selfies you’ve collectively taken around famous landmarks or memorable moments.

-They totally stopped to check in to see if your favorite actor/actress is still alive/safe.

-Sometimes you all just sit and watch the stars from the roof of Emma’s mansion, and its in these moments, together, safe, and united as a group, that you all truly feel alive.

Welcome to HELL-A

Time for another experiment, Dead island has been taking over me for a while and Ryan has interested me as a character. Note: Loosely inspired by character.ai. Warning: Intense violence and gore. Word count:2.2K

Los Angeles was now the biggest shit show you had ever seen in your life, With the infection now spreading city-wide, you were unfortunate to miss the evacuation flight. You were sadly left to fight on your own as the infected mauled your grandparents to death... What was once a simple vacation with them has turned into a fucking nightmare.

You were wandering the streets of HELL-A as what people are calling it now to find some food, Most of the supermarkets have been wiped clean, but thankfully you saw a convenience store that managed to be fully stocked. So sneaking in, you began to stock up your backpack. But in the midst of doing so, you then began to hear heavy footsteps as the person entered the store also. You grabbed your weapon and hid yourself. Looking between the shelves, you saw a man, he was wearing a fire fighter's uniform. But with people fighting for survival, You were given little choice but to leave. As you snuck around, you accidentally kicked an empty soda can, making it cling across the floor. The man was now on high alert.

"Hey !! Who's there ?? Come out !!" He gripped his sledgehammer tight.

You froze in place, holding your breath in tight. You could hear the footsteps increase as he got closer and closer. "I know you're there, Just come out." He continued to walk around the store until he then saw your face in between the shelves. "I see you back there"

You were now in fight or flight mode, You pushed the shelf onto the man and tried to run. He got pushed down against the shelf before pushing it off and held his sledgehammer over his chest preparing to swing. "You ain't getting away that easily" He swung the hammer at you.

"Woah woah, Easy easy... Friendly..." You raised your hands in surrender.

The man held his hammer up, pointing to you. "And how can I be sure ???"

"Uh... I have a brain... ??"

He looked over at you. "I mean... How do I know that you're not a zombie pretending to be a human ??"

You gave him a "Are you stupid ??" Look, this guys has clearly watched too many movies.

He lowered his sledgehammer finally a little bit. "Alright... You're acting like a human, I guess I'm gonna assume you're one" He put the sledgehammer over his shoulder. "What's your name kid ??"

"Y/n, You ??"

"Ryan... So what are you doing out here ??" He looked at you with a relaxed look.

"I was looking for food"

"Oh... so you've been surviving by yourself ??"

You nodded, putting your weapon away.

"Must be pretty lonely out here eh ??"

"A little yeah"

"How long have you been surviving out here by yourself ??"

"About a week now ??" You lost count of when the outbreak started, everything had gone so fast.

"Dang, you've got some guts kid, I'm about the same as you and it's been fucking hell"

"I guess, maybe stick with me ??"

"Hmm... Well... Yeah why not, I need someone to survive with anyways, especially with those damn zombies roaming the streets."

"Speaking of which, It's getting dark, they'll become more active and aggressive, we should find some shelter." You looked out the window, finding the sun setting.

"Yeah.. your right, You got any place in mind or should I take the lead ??" He looked at you.

You then pulled out a tourist map of LA pre-outbreak. "If we take this road up here and then continue on, we should be able to make it to Beverly hills."

"Why are we heading there ??"

"Because one, all the rich people have likely evacuated, and two the houses will be empty" You smirked and folded the map.

"You're right, so it's basically free shelter now, alright let's go !!"

The two began to walk out into the street, finding the road and now on their way to Beverly Hills. The two now getting to know each other.

"So your... a fire fighter ??" You looked at his uniform up and down before finding the helmet. On the front you noticed something a little different, trying not to laugh at it.

"Yeah.... Why ??" He looked at you confused, but really... Please don't say it, Please don't say it.

"Ok, first off, You're not a fire fighter, cause if you were your helmet should say the state dept, not the sexy dept" You began to snicker.

"What ?? W-wait how did you know that ??" He tries to hide the helmet and immediately turns a little red on his face.

"You're a male stripper ??" You tried not to laugh so loud.

He put his hand on the side of his face, hiding his embarrassment. "Well... yeah..."

You regained your composure again before being serious and playfully nudging him. "Hey, no judgment, serious" You smiled reassuringly.

He sighs "Ok... Fine you got me, I'm a stripper, And I was using the uniform to get onto that flight... But now I'm stuck here... I can't even deny that I do look attractive in it though" Making you both chuckle.

The two then eventually made it to Beverly Hills and found themselves in front of a mansion, Y/n then pulled out a bobby pin and began to pick the lock. "You must be really popular with the ladies"

"I mean... Yeah I am, I get paid good money just for dancing and stripping, it's a pretty embarrassing job, I have to admit" He shrugged.

"Why would it be embarrassing ??" You continued to pick the lock.

"I mean... I get paid to just take off my clothes and dance in front of strangers. People are bound to make fun of me since it's a pretty weird job" He paused for a brief second. "But you know... money is money"

"You gotta do what you gotta do"

"True that... I'm curious though... what was your occupation ??"

"Retail clerk" you shrugged

"Did you like your job ?? He looked at you "Because I used to work retail and it's the most annoying job ever... I don't miss it one bit !! Especially with those customers... They were brutal sometimes"

"Oh tell me about it !!, God specially those people who always are so perfect and everything had to be perfect for them" You grumbled

"Yeah... And especially out here in LA, Most of the people out here are rich and entitled. They just don't know how to act towards other people sometimes. And I had to work once during Black Friday. Worst day of my life" He shuddered

You managed to get the door unlocked "Got it"

"Dang, you're quick" They walked through the door. "So did you always live in LA or did you move out here ??"

"I was on vacation with my grandparents, Just before the outbreak..."

"Oh man... you got caught in the middle of this ?? That sucks..." He looked at you sympathetically before then looking around the house. "So now what ?? This place is fairly big, There's probably a lot of stuff inside"

"Yeah, Make this out little base or something" You smiled a little

"Yeah, that would be perfect... Although I hope no zombies have made their way in there already." He says as he walks around looking at the different rooms, he sees a stairway that went upstairs. "There's probably even more rooms upstairs" Motioning you to follow along.

The two then went upstairs, finding 5 more rooms, shit this place was really big. "Who freaking owns this house ??" You inspected one of the rooms and found a massive gaming setup and cameras too. "A streamer ??"

"Yeah... It seems like it too, Hell I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we use some of there their stuff" He smiled having a look.

"Big time, but we should check if the power is still operational" You stood up.

"Yeah, good call" The two then walked around the house to find the circuit breaker, Ryan then found more gaming consoles in the living room "Woah !! This guy is loaded !! look at this whole setup he has !! How much do you think he spent on this whole gaming thing ??"

"Focus on the power Ryan" You chuckled

He realized he got distracted as he heard you call out his name, he stopped admiring the set up and walked to your voice. "Huh ?? What'd you say ??"

"We're finding the power breaker" You snickered.

"Oh right right" He chuckles a little

The two continued to look around the massive house until finally finding the circuit breaker in the garage and switched it on, The house coming to life.

"Alright the power is on !!" Ryan clapped and rubbed his hands, he could hear the stuff beginning to run up the top. "Now that's figured out, we can go search the whole place for food and other stuff"

"Yeah we sho.. Oh hello there !!" You turned around and then found the owner's cars. "6 fucking cars !!"

Ryan then noticed and his eyes went wide. "Holy hell !!, Look how fancy they are !!"

"Lambo's, Mclaren's, you name it" You walked over and inspected one of the cars, You two picked the best freaking place to hide out.

Ryan admired his reflection quickly in the window "This guy must have been super rich... Or has a ton of debt"

But the happiness was short-lived, some of the noises from outside the house attracted the infected to the house door, You and Ryan heard all the familiar groans.

"Did you hear that ??" Ryan was immediately on high alert as were you.

"Yeah, Follow my lead" You pulled out your weapon and headed upstairs, Ryan closely following you. Once they reach the top, they can see at the entrance windows, the infected outside were banging on the door, trying desperately to get in.

"Something must've attracted them" You looked out.

"Yeah... Damn this isn't good"

You looked around and then saw a display weapon, Smirking. "I got an idea" You then went over and smashed the glass of the display weapon, flicking your thumb against the blade, yep super sharp. "Get the door would you ??"

"Thinking what I'm thinking ??" He then went to the door, readying himself with the handle. "On 3 ??"

"One... Two... Three !!"

Ryan then flung the door open and then swung at the first zombie he laid his eyes on. You do the same, the pure carnage ensues as the two of you start to get covered in blood and gunk. The innards of the infected spilled out onto the pavement as you hacked and slashed your way through them.

"Got a good swing on you bud !!" You said as you chopped a zombie's head in half.

"Thanks" He continued to swing though more of the infected. "You doin' alright ??"

"Managing !!"

The two continued to slash your way through the infected until there was none left, you breathed a sigh of relief for a little bit until you jumped, feeling a zombie's hand on your ankle. Ryan pushing you out of the way, stomping his boot on its head, smashing it open like a ripe watermelon.

After gathering himself for a bit, he turned to you and smiled. "I'm kinda impressed, where did you learn those skills ??"

"Video games" You nonchalantly said.

"That's it ??" He chuckled as you shrugged

"Guess you can learn a lot from video games then"

"Yeah... But now I need a shower" You flicked the blood off your hands.

"Yeah, That's probably a good idea"

So the two headed back inside and barricaded the door, heading for the first shower, Finding some of the owner's spare clothes, this would do for a while until you and Ryan could head back out and try and find something in your size. After you finished your shower, Ryan took his turn and came back out later, shirtless, letting you see his physique. "Wow the ladies reeeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyy love you" You chuckled.

"Yeah well, it's a part of the job, The ladies seem to have a thing for muscle" He bounced his pecs as a statement. "Maybe I could show you a few of my routines" He snickered before making you both lose it.

"You know Ryan, you're a good guy" You said now serious.

"Thanks, man... I appreciate it, you're a good person too, I haven't met anyone as nice as you since shit went south. I feel everyone out there is so... self-centred, but you're not, it's just nice seeing someone who's actually kind... If that makes sense" He chuckled

"Yeah, It's refreshing"

"Yeah, It's comforting... It helps knowing someone with you who won't judge you for what you do or stuff like that... It feels safe... I feel safe"

You smiled wide, raising a fist. "This is gonna be a good friendship, I know it"

"Yeah, I believe it too, this will definitely be good" He gladly returned a fist bump.

The front doors slam open, and Bruno walks in, at this point, not many get surprised of his obnoxious and loud break ins anymore.

Whenever he heads out for supplies, to find information, or whatever, he's tired, but cheerful. He always comes to you and tells you everything that he has done that day.

It's cute, really. Usually, you'll sit on one of the couches around the house, and he'll lay his head on your lap as he talks your ear off. Or, it'll be full of giggles and soft kisses.

But today's different.

When you saw him, you realize that his beanie is gone. His hair is a complete mess, and he looks mad.

" Holy shit Bruno, what happened to you? "

You stand up and slowly walk up to him, your hands cup his face lightly. He melts at the soft touch, sighing.

" It's stupid, but a zombie ripped my beanie on my way back. Ese hijo de puta puede comer mierda... " He frowns at the memory.

Bruno backs away from your touch and digs into his pocket, taking out the beanie he was talking about. It's the one he would always wear. Infact, when you two had first met, he told you that it was his favorite.

The beanie now, however, had a huge tear in the back of it.

" Can I borrow it for a while? "

He gives you a questioning glare but hands it to. You analyze it for a second before giving him a reassuring smile, his gaze softens.

You take his hand and lead him to your room, his hand is rough, and bloody against yours. When you both make it into your room, you point at the bed and let go of his hand.

" Sit down, baby. " Bruno blushes at the pet name, but shoots back an ; " Of course, love. " before sitting down. You roll your eyes, place the beanie on the desk and go through your closet.

" What are you looking for? "

You smirk and take out a sewing machine that was hidden behind all the supplies and weapons. The sewing machine had a little bumps here and there but it still works.

" Oh. oh . "

You snort and place the sewing machine on the desk, you enter the plug to the closest outlet. " Can you get me a black thread? It's in that basket. " You point at where the basket is.

He nods and takes out a black thread. He throws you the thread, catching it, you ask; " So, what happened to your hair, love? " as you get straight to work.

He sits back down and mumbles something underneath his breath.

" You don't have to tell-" But he cuts you off before you can even finish.

" Nah, I'll tell you, so uh.." He looks around the room his cheeks burning up from embarrassment. " I had to shave some part of my hair off 'cuz some zombie ripped my dreads really fuckin' hard.." He said as he scratched the back of his head.

You had to stop what you were doing to look at him, before laughing your ass off. " That's not fucking funny ! " he crossed his arms, his embarrassment growing more and more by the second

" Sorry, love.. it's just.. Nevermind, you still look great, I promise. " you reassure him, heading back to work. " Yeah, sure. " Bruno rolls his eyes and lays down on the bed dramatically.

" Okay..I think I'm done." You turn off the machine and take a look at beanie. But before you can get s good look, Bruno gets up and snatches the beanie from you, and putting it on quickly.

This time its your turn to roll your eyes. You get up slowly, putting your hands around his neck. Bruno looks into your eyes before looking at your lips for a second.

" Can I kiss you? "

You giggle, a similar, feeling fuzzy was coming back to you. " What kind of question is- mm! " The kiss was soft, and sweet, just like his lips. Bruno put his hands on your hips, bringing you closer.

“What do you mean you’re leaving?”

Keeping your gaze trained to the ground, you absolutely refuse to look up -- because you know that if you did, your heart would break all over again.

Macao steps towards her, you hear it rather then see it, and can imagine his hand stretched out towards you, trying to placate you. “Y/N, we understand--” and he halts, voice catching in the back of his throat. “We understand more then anyone how you feel, but--”

“It’s different.” You find yourself cutting in, voice sharp, and you wince at yourself because you sound so incredibly selfish and rude. Who were you to say that your pain was any different from theirs? Any worse? But, still, you continue, your emotions getting the better of you. “It’s just... different. I... I can’t be here knowing they’re... he’s gone.”

“Y/N-nee, we don’t know that they’re gone!”

Your eyes fall shut at the sound of Romeo’s voice.

“We have to keep searching for them,” he argues, defiant, adamantly shaking his head. “They’re somewhere out there, I know that. And Gray wouldn’t--”

“They’re gone,” you hiss, interrupting him and finally glancing up to regard your friends, your family. They rear back at your harsh words, and that guilt festers even deeper inside of your chest, with the way they’re looking at you. Jet and Droy look near tears, and you know they’re thinking of Levy. And Bisca and Alzack look in shock at your outburst, you’re usually so quiet and calm. Macao looks angry, and the rest just stare at you, varying reactions that all mesh together.

Because really, it’s the way Romeo looks at you, still so young, so full hope as your words basically slap him in the face.

But you’re too far gone now, and there’s no stopping you.

“It’s been two years,” you continue, voice softer but still cutting, still hurtful. “They’re not coming back. They’re never coming back.”

He’s never coming back.

They don’t respond. No one argues, even if some look like they might. Maybe they’re understanding, maybe they’re finally getting it -- it’s been too long now and no one from the island is coming back. You’d been hopeful at first, you’d been like Romeo -- you’d refused to lose hope. But your heart is broken and there’s no mending it and you can’t keep staring at those doors all day expecting, hoping, praying that he’ll walk through them only for him never to.

So, you turn, nothing but a soft, sorrowful, pathetic apology leaving your lips as you turn your backs on your friends and leave them.

And as you turn, you see his familiar face, the dark black of his hair, that drawling smirk on his lips, and his cold, but always soft when directed at you eyes looking at you, but when you blink, he’s gone.

You huff at the weight dropped around your shoulders, inhaling deeply when you see a familiar puff of blonde hair.

“Did you hear?”

You don’t need to ask what he means. It’s pretty obvious.

“Fairy Tail will be competing again this year.”

When you turn to look at Sting, he’s smirking -- all bright eyed and giddy, and you hold back your own snark as you regard him with a small nod. Sting was one of the few to know of the fact that you used to be part of Fairy Tail -- him and Rogue, given that they were the ones who recruited you, and then the master as well.

It wasn’t news you were eager for everyone to know. Fairy Tail was a laughing stock in all respects now, but Sabertooth seemed to have a particular fondness of mocking the way the guild had fallen. And it was easy to hide you’d ever been apart of it given you hadn’t been a particularly well-known mage back when you’d been a member. Your powers were relatively new, and with, regrettably, the help of the Twin Dragon slayers you’d definitely grown in aspects of strength.

Three years since you’d joined Sabertooth -- two years of training on your own, and three of being surrounded by much stronger mages had you adapting and constantly changing. You were practically unrecognizable.

You were known at Y/N of Sabertooth now, and it was like the Y/N of Fairy Tail never even existed at all.

“I’m surprised,” you hum, shifting as Sting moves to take a seat next to you, still whilst having an arm draped over your arm. You blink at the sudden arrival of Rogue, not having heard him, as he takes a seat in front of you, before continuing. “They weren’t in it last year, or the year before if I remember. After finishing last every year before.”

You hadn’t been apart of Sabertooth’s team, but you do remember watching.

It had been... hard, to say the least.

“Ah, well, this year they have a new team.” Rogue explains blandly.

“New members, you should say,” Sting smirks.

Brows furrowed, you shake your head at their words, confusion flooding at you at the particular gleefulness of Sting’s expression. He always got a kick out of embarrassing other teams, not even just Fairy Tail, but there was something different about the way his eyes sparkled.

Sting meets your gaze, and without wavering, adds; “or should I say, old?”

Your breath catches, and even as your mind starts spinning, you’re all too aware of the way both Sting and Rogue are watching you carefully.

You turn from Rogue to Sting, and absolutely hate the gleam in the latter’s eyes as he smirks down at you. Keeping a tight hold on you, he pulls you closer, leaning until he’s a breaths away; “it’s a good thing I managed to convince the Master to let you on the team this year, Y/N,” he grins widely, “you’ll get to reunite with your old pales.”

That... that couldn’t be possible.

They were--They were dead. They are dead.

“I... I need some fresh air.” Shoving Sting’s arm off of you, you ignore his calls and his merciless laughter as you stock out the guild doors, bypassing Minerva which you know will get you in shit later. You don’t really care in that moment, you can’t even think straight, you need air. 

You need to breathe.

Sting must be lying. He has to be lying. There’s... they were dead, it’s been seven years.

Seven years.

How... why now? Why after all this time?

And you convince yourself he isn’t lying. You ignore Sting every time he tries to talk to you, and focus on training. It would be no good if you failed since you were on the roster this year -- Master would kill you if you failed to impress him and keep Sabertooth at the very top. And it’s easy enough to do, spend all your time training, pushing yourself to the brink, until it’s a few days before the games and you realize, Sting wasn’t lying.

You’d been trying to ignore it, ignore the urge, but eventually you give in and find yourself in the city of Magnolia. A place you haven’t been in a long time.

Fairy Tail’s location had changed, but you’d made sure to keep tabs on them. You never showed your face, mainly because you knew that in the end, you’d betrayed your friends. In their eyes, you assumed, you were the enemy, a traitor. You’d left them, left your guild in a time they’d needed you most, and almost instantly regretted it.

But every time you tried to go back, every time you made your way towards those doors, you’d remember the words you’d said -- “They’re not coming back. They’re never coming back.” -- and, like a coward, you were never able to face them.

From the moment you’d left, all you’d wanted to do was go back but it was too late for that now. And so you settled for keeping tabs, helping them where you could, always in secret -- you knew how they owed money, and you didn’t have a lot, but you always anonymously send some the guild’s way in hopes of helping. Sabertooth would kill you if they found out, specifically Sting, but it was your way of repaying all the hurt you must’ve caused them.

It’s why you know their new location. And, without even being there for more then five minutes, you see them.

A blue flying cat, followed by a white one, a tuff of pink hair, red hair, blue hair, blonde and most importantly, him. His dark hair, the fact that nothing’s changed and he looks exactly like he had those seven years ago when you’d wished him good luck on the S Class competition, and pressed a shy, chaste kiss to his cheek, the two of you blushing madly as he left, waving you goodbye.

But, they were there. He was there.

“And last but certainly not least, is the team that came first in the preliminaries... that’s right, you know them, you love them! Now, get on your feet and scream for the most powerful guild in all Fiore! The one and only, Sabertooth!”

You wince at the cheering, two steps behind everyone else as Sting makes his grand entrance, looking thoroughly most pleased and proud of himself then anyone else. However, even you can see the smirk on Rufus’ and Orga’s face. 

If anything, it’s you and Rogue that don’t look all that excited.

And you, for a specific reason. One that stares you right in the face the second you walk into the arena.

Elfman, Erza, Lucy, Natsu, but more importantly, Gray all look at you the second your team arrives. You can even feel Fairy Tail team B, and the rest of the guild up in the stands watching you and only you. You also notice with disdain that Sting had purposefully made way for you to be seen, even if you hadn’t been that hidden, you would’ve rather remained in the shadows.

That, and you’re not exactly sure what to say as they all stare at you.

“Y/N?!”

It’s Natsu who yells it, but it’s Lucy who steps towards you, baffled and confused; “Y/N, what’re you...”

But you only lower your gaze, eyes falling shut as Sting pulls you into his side, laughing loudly. “What a reunion!” He cheers, pumping his fist in the air, before turning to you. “Isn’t it so great to see all your old guildmates, Y/N?”

You meet their eyes, just as the announcer calls out;

“What’s this? A reunion? Could it be perhaps that Sabertooth’s own Y/N Y/L/N was once a member of Fairy Tail? What a twist on her debut in the Grand Magic Games!”

“This is so not man...”

Turning your head at the sound of Elfman’s voice, your breath catches in the back of your throat.

“Elfman,” Erza says sharply, pulling your eyes back on her and thus the rest of them, noticing with a thick swallow the way her eyes have never left your own. “I’m sure Y/N has her reasons.”

But as she stares at you, waiting for you to say something, you simply turn, walking off.

“I didn’t know you used to be in Fairy Tail,” Rufus drawls to you when you pass him, and your shoulders tighten.

That’s right... now, everyone knew.

“You never needed to know,” you say simply.

“Y/N.”

“It seems Fairy Tail’s Team A Gray Fullbuster approaches Sabertooth’s own Y/N Y/L/N, and the crowd watches in anticipation at the clear tension amongst the two of them--.”

Everything freezes. Shoulders tensing, you slowly turn, meeting Gray’s eyes -- the one you’d been specifically avoiding.

“We won’t lose.”

I know, you want to say. I don’t want you to, you want to tell him. I want Fairy Tail to win, you want to plead. But instead, knowing the eyes that watch you, you simply say; “neither will Sabertooth.”

This had to be some cruel joke.

Your punishment, maybe.

Sabertooth’s Y/N Y/L/N versus Fairy Tail’s Team A Gray Fullbuster

That’s what the board said, that what that God awful announcer calls with clear joy in his voice -- your first battle, the second day of the Games, and this way the turn out.

There was no way you’d win. 

Ignoring the fact that you had no doubt Gray was stronger then you -- you simply just couldn’t. You wouldn’t. Not against Fairy Tail and certainly not against Gray.

“Good luck, Y/N,” Sting calls as you move to make your way towards the arena. “Though I doubt you’ll need it.”

You hate his words, hate the way he knows, hate the way he seems to get such joy out of everything that had happened. This was his fault. His fucking fault that you were here, and that this was happening.

Though, of course, even you knew that was true.

“Sabertooth’s Y/N Y/L/N has never been apart of Sabertooth’s team, but we can expect something great from Fiore’s strongest guild, needless to say. Do you know anything about Y/N Y/L/N, Yajima-san?”

“I don’t know much about Y/’N now, but in her Fairy Tail days, she never really made a name for herself, but I do distinctly remember her powers being incredibly unique.”

“Ah! A mystery then. And of course, Fairy Tail’s Gray Fullbuster is a Ice Wizard, but after his performance in day one’s Hidden Competition, the crowd’s not too sure what to expect. Nonetheless, it should be an intense match between old guildmates now turned enemy’s.”

“Shut up,” you hiss to yourself, nails digging into the palm of your hands.

“Ah, I see you’re just as chipper as you used to be.”

Swallowing thickly, you inhale sharply as Gray comes to a stop a few feet before you. It’s closest you’ve been to him since that first day, and more importantly, then in seven years. You’d already known since that day, but he really does look exactly like he had that day. Hasn’t aged a day. You don’t know the story, you don’t know how he’s back, but you know you’ve heard the term ‘seven year blank’ echoing around.

That makes more sense as you stare at him now.

Still eighteen, you’re now older then him then a year younger like you had been before. 

Remaining silent, your head tilts back, where you know Sabertooth is, chest tightening.

“Y/N.”

Turning to Gray at the sound of your name, your lips part when you noticed the way his eyes have softened, even if only a little, like he caught something in the past moment you’d turned away from him. He looks so much more... concerned then he had the first day, and that was only yesterday. When he’d called for you, he’d looked so angry...

Now, he only looked worried.

“What happened?”

Swallowing thickly, you try to appear unbothered. “I left.”

“There’s more to it, I know there is,” Gray shakes his head, “the others told us about the day--”

Eyes clenching shut, a simply jerk of your head has Gray flying back. It causes a roar of gasps, surprise and anticipation in the thought that the fight is finally starting. But you know, unlike them, that it won’t get farther then that -- at least not from your end.

Gray hisses, slowly crawling to his feet, before he smirks at you; “you’ve gotten strong.”

“It’s been seven years.”

“Still,” he shrugs, stopping before you once again. “You have control now.”

You shrug, mimicking him with a smirk, “it’s been seven years.”

However, the facade falls all too quick when he takes a step towards you. Your body tenses, fists clenching as he continues to make his way towards you until he’s directly before you. He eyes you for a moment, quiet, carefully, and you nearly break then and there.

“It may have been seven years, but I know you best,” he whispers, voice low, “I know you’re lying.”

You shake your head, pushing his words away from your thoughts; “attack me.”

And he blinks, surprised; “what?”

“I need you to attack me,” you repeat, keeping your eyes trained downwards, refusing to meet his eyes. “I... I just need you to.”

And part of you expects him to -- you deserve it, you know, after all you’d done.

But, a second later, Gray’s stepping back, pulling your wide eyes on him as he shakes his head; “Fairy Tail doesn’t attack their own friends, Y/N. You know that.” And your breath hitches when his hand moves to raise.

“No!” You yell, before you can help yourself, eyes flashing a bright gold, like they had seconds before, holding Gray’s arm in place as he blinks back at you. Letting out a soft whimper, one you hope he doesn’t hear, you hold his arm in place, eyes falling shut as your own arm raises, the crowd falling eerily silent.

“I give up.”

And you knew, even as you feel the glares on your back, that there really wasn’t any other outcome that could’ve happened. You’d never hurt Gray, you knew, and you refused to hurt Fairy Tail anymore.

You were destined to lose this match.

“What’s so special about those fairies, huh?”

Wincing, you gasp at the squeeze on your throat, trying to suck in air that won’t come as your eyes fall on Sting’s own narrowed ones, glaring down at you. The brick of the wall behind you bites into your skin, and you know his grip will leave bruises, but even as you gasp for air and it feels like your vision is closing in on you, you have no regrets.

You never would, even if it’ll get you killed.

“What’s so fucking special about them?”

You refuse to respond, even if Sting wasn’t blocking off your air way you wouldn’t. Even if you could easily knock him away, send him flying, you don’t -- you’ll only pay for it more later.

“What’s so special about him?!”

He drops you then, and you fall to your knees with a thud, a cry leaving your lips as he sends a sharp kick to your gut, causing you to double over. It takes you a moment, a solid minute to catch your breath, and even then you’re still gasping, voice raspy as you raise your chin, eyes narrowing as you say the words you’ve been wanting to say to Sting for years.

“Fairy Tail is the guild Sabertooth could never be,” you hiss, your voice pathetic but your gaze menacing. “And Gray is a better man than you’ll ever be. All of them are. You’ll never be as good as Natsu.” You hit him where you know it hurts, the words having been on the tip of your tongue for years but you’d always held back in fear of what would happen.

Well, you’re no longer afraid. You’re too far gone now.

Sting’s eyes narrow and his face twists, ready to explode, before he breathes, and a smirk curls onto his lips. “You’ll never be apart of your pathetic guild again,” he hisses, “you’ll be stuck in Sabertooth for the rest of your life. Only, Master will make sure your life is a living hell.”

He sends another sharp kick at your side, but says nothing more as he turns, walking off with a huff.

It takes you a moment to gather yourself, slowly pushing yourself up to your knees where you stay, chest heaving, the pain radiating across your entire body, fingers finding your neck and touching the offended skin gently as you hiss in response.

You didn’t regret surrendering, but you couldn’t help but be terrified of what would happen when you walked into the inn that night.

You never should’ve left Fairy Tail. It was a regret you’d probably take to your grave.

“We actually have points thanks to you.”

Blinking at the sound of Gray’s voice, you slowly glance up at him, arm still wrapped tightly around your stomach as you stare up at him.

“I’m glad,” you whisper, smiling gently, “Fairy Tail deserves to win.”

Gray sighs, and stepping towards you, he reaches a hand out; “here,” he says softly, voice a mere whisper. You meet his eyes, before glancing at his hand for a moment, slowly slipping your own in it. He helps you to your feet, holding you up as you waver, hissing in pain, and then, before you know it, before you can even help yourself, you fall against him, forehead pressing against his shoulder as you let out a whimper.

“You know,” Gray says after a moment, “I still remember that kiss.”

Shaking your head, you let out a quiet, somewhat forced laugh.

“What happened, Y/N?”

“You were gone,” you whisper, finally answering. “You all were, but you were too. And... And I couldn’t handle staring at those doors everyday waiting for you to walk through them, only for you never to.” Pulling back, you meet his eyes, “I love you, I wanted to tell you that day, and it crushed me that I never did.”

Hands falling on your waist, Gray shakes his head; “no one would tell me where you were when we came back. It’s like every time I asked, this look would come over them and everyone would fall silent. When I learned it had been seven years, I wanted to see you first and tell you... tell you, I love you too.”

Biting your lip, “it’s too late,” you whisper. “The others must hate me and I... Sting will never let me leave.”

Gray’s grip tightens. “They don’t hate you, Y/N. Everyone misses you. I miss you,” and then, he shifts, cupping your cheek to pull your eyes on his own again. “I need you to come back.”

“But... Sting--”

“We’ll figure it out, Master will figure it out,” Gray argues, shaking his head. “The Guild needs you. I need you.”

Lips parting, you try to find the words, only to realize there are none. So, instead, you simply fall into his arms, holding him tight against you and hold on to his promise.

HBO Max New Releases: August 2021

Back when WarnerMedia (which technically no longer exists in the same form) announced that it would be premiering its entire slate of 2021 films on HBO Max, this is the kind of month they likely had in mind. For HBO Max’s list of new releases in August 2021 is highlighted by an honest-to-goodness blockbuster.

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere Aug. 5 on HBO Max. This film featuring some of DC Comics’ most curious villains borrows its name, format, and many of its characters from the David Ayers-directed 2016 film Suicide Squad. This time around, the rogues gallery is directing by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and his colorful disposition. In addition to The Suicide Squad, August sees the arrival of the Hugh Jackman-starring Reminiscence on Aug. 20.

It’s a good month for movies overall on HBO Max. Many intriguing library titles arrive on Aug. 1, including Collateral, The Fugitive (1993), The Shawshank Redemption, and Spawn. The Jurassic Park trilogy (Aug. 14), and Godzilla v. Kong (Aug. 17) make their return to the Warner streaming service a little later on.

HBO Max’s original TV offerings can’t compete with The Suicide Squad in August 2021, but there is still plenty to enjoy. The third season of erstwhile DC Universe series Titans premieres on Aug. 12. That will be followed by the second season of former Comedy Central delight The Other Two.

Born and raised in Greece by his single mother, Michael Morbius experienced an isolated childhood due to his rare blood condition, which contributed to his ugly and unpleasant-looking appearance. But despite his looks, he was an intellectually gifted young man who spent his time reading books and, in time, became a highly respected and Nobel Prize-winning biologist who specialized in the field of human and animal biology. While in New York, after escaping from his home country due to his pseudo-vampiric condition, he attempted to find a cure and to protect his fiancé Martine Bancroft, but he was attacked by the Lizard and defeated when Spider-Man and the Lizard teamed up against him to recover a sample of Morbius's blood in order to cure their own mutated physical conditions before he escaped. The truth behind his horrific condition is that, in order to cure himself of an unknown blood disease which was killing him, Morbius, using his past experience as an expert biochemist, had attempted to cure himself of the disease with an experimental treatment involving vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy. However, he instead became afflicted with a far worse disease called "pseudo-vampirism" that mimicked some of the powers and the bloodlust of supernatural vampirism. Morbius now had to drink blood in order to survive and had a strong aversion to light. His bones became hollow and he gained the ability to fly, as well as gaining superhuman strength, super-speed, and an accelerated healing factor. His appearance, already ugly, now became hideous—his upper canine teeth extended into fangs, his nose flattened to appear more like that of a bat's and his skin became chalk-white. He also gained the ability to turn others into similar "living vampires" like himself by biting them and drinking their blood, infecting them with the disease of pseudo-vampirism.[13] People whom Morbius infected with the disease of pseudo-vampirism did not truly die as a result and they could be cured through an antidote to pseudo-vampirism derived from Morbius's blood that Morbius and Martine had created, although that antidote would not work on Morbius himself. They also did not acquire his ability to fly or his healing factor and any mortal wound could kill them.[14] He later sought a cure for his condition, but battled Spider-Man, the Human Torch, and the original X-Men.[15]Morbius then encountered Barbara Clark and protected her from a demon named Nilrac, but unfortunately after that, Morbius killed her and drank her blood to satisfy his hunger, feeling a strong sense of guilt immediately afterward.[16]

Morbius later rescued Amanda Saint from a Satanic cult known as Demon-Fire and aided her in her quest to find her missing parents.[17] He caused John Jameson to again become the Man-Wolf. Alongside the Man-Wolf, he battled Spider-Man again in another attempt at a cure.[18] He then battled Reverend Daemond and encountered the Caretakers of Arcturus IV. At the same time, he visited both the Land Within, the home of the Cat People, and the planet Arcturus IV, the homeworld of the Caretakers. During this time, he first battled Blade the Vampire-Slayer.[19] He then first battled the Werewolf (Jack Russell)[20] He then first encountered rogue CIA agent Simon Stroud and battled the extra-dimensional demon known as Helleyes.[21] He and Stroud then battled a large group of other pseudo-vampires that had been created by Morbius, destroying them all. One of them, however, who had been taken into police custody, turned Martine into a pseudo-vampire before being destroyed by Morbius, but Morbius (who then turned on Martine and made her a pseudo-vampire again due to his bloodlust overcoming him) and Stroud cured Martine by using the antidote, after which Morbius fled.[14] He then encountered Alicia Twain, a desperate landowner, and tried to help her keep her land; however, she died at the hands of the men trying to steal her land despite Morbius's help, forcing Morbius to kill her murderers.[22] Next, he encountered an enigmatic woman named Morgana St. Clair in England, who aided him and seemed to know all about vampires. This led to Morbius batting - and destroying - the Brotherhood of Judas, another Satanic cult of which St. Clair was a member.[23] Alongside the Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), the Man-Thing (Ted Sallis), and the Werewolf, he then encountered the Starseed.[24]Morbius then visited his old friend Ronson Slade, a scientist, again hoping to find a cure. Slade, however, had become a werewolf and Morbius was forced to kill him.[25]Morbius then first battled the Thing, then teamed up with him to battle the Living Eraser and escaped to Dimension Z.[26] He later returned to Earth and battled Spider-Man again, this time briefly controlled both physically and mentally by an extra-dimensional humanoid android called the Empathoid, which fed on emotions to survive. Spider-Man destroyed the Empathoid (after the android had left Morbius and possessed him) by causing it to overdose on emotions during an exposure to the crowd at a baseball game in a stadium where he and Morbius had taken their battle, after which both of them left due to the approach of the stadium guards. Morbius then fled and Spider-Man left the Empathoid's body with the Fantastic Four for safekeeping.[27]

He once again fought Spider-Man and tried to drink his radioactive blood, but then he was hit by a lightning bolt at the same time, which cured him of his pseudo-vampirism and made him human again (he still retained a thirst for blood, however).[28] While he was cured, he was charged with the crimes he had committed as a pseudo-vampire and was represented by Jennifer Walters, whose dual identity as the She-Hulk was not yet publicly known at the time. Morbius selflessly saved Walters' life and stabilized her erratic transformations into the She-Hulk with a serum that he had created to cure the remnants of his own transformation.[29] He eventually regained his pseudo-vampiric state and first met Doctor Strange.[30] Alongside Doctor Strange and Brother Voodoo, he battled Marie Laveau and witnessed the return of true vampires.[31] Morbius later battled Spider-Man in the New York sewers.[32]

The Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch) and Johnny Blaze searched for Morbius to form the Nine (a.k.a. the Midnight Sons) and stop Lilith the Mother of All Demons and her children the Lilin from taking over the world. When they found Morbius, the pseudo-vampire believed that they would kill him, but the Ghost Rider and Blaze successfully captured him. Doctor Langford, who supposedly tried to heal Morbius's wounds, was actually trying to kill him and was working for Doctor Paine. He made an unknown mutagenic serum that would prove fatal to Morbius. Unknown to Doctor Langford, Fang, one of Lilith's children, was also trying to kill Morbius by adding his own demonic blood to the serum, which would also be fatal to Morbius. When Doctor Langford injected the serum to Morbius, it did not kill him, but instead it mutated him. Morbius's friend, Jacob, was trying to look inside of him and see what he could do about Morbius's condition. After Martine Bancroft, Morbius's ex-fiancé, found out that Langford was trying to kill him, Langford shot her and she bled to death. Morbius found out about this and was enraged to find his ex-fiancé dead. He later avenged the death of Martine by killing Langford and took the beaker which contained the serum.[33] The Ghost Rider and Blaze later found out about Morbius's acts of destruction. The Ghost Rider confronted him and would not tolerate Morbius drinking any more innocent blood. Morbius then vowed he would only drink the blood of the guilty. The Ghost Rider accepted the vow, but warned him not to stray from it. Morbius soon became part of the Midnight Sons.

Later, a new faction of vampires tried to destroy Morbius because he had been genetically manipulated to be the perfect weapon. The chest in which he was to be delivered was intercepted by the Kingpin, Blade and Spider-Man, and he attacked all three. Whatever unknown party manipulated him failed; he collapsed after one battle, possibly dying. With his last breath, he warned Spider-Man to beware of his employer, Senator Stuart Ward.[34]

It was later revealed that Morbius had signed the Superhuman Registration Act and was cooperating with S.H.I.E.L.D. in an effort to capture Blade.[35] He had also presumably survived his genetic manipulation, as Blade was able to distinguish him as the same Morbius who "took a bite out of [him]" in their previous encounter.[36]

Morbius was next seen as a member of A.R.M.O.R., held captive by the zombie Morbius from the Marvel Zombies universe of Earth-2149.[37] He survived the invasion, killing his zombie counterpart in the process.[38] Shortly after, he formed a new version of the Midnight Sons with Jennifer Kale, Daimon Hellstrom, Jack Russell, and the Man-Thing to contain a zombie outbreak on an isolated island, briefly running afoul of the Hood in the process.[39]

Morbius later helped the Man-Thing re-assemble a decapitated Punisher into a Frankensteinian monster called FrankenCastle.[40]

During The Gauntlet storyline, Morbius was behind the theft of a vial of Spider-Man's blood. Spider-Man, learning that Morbius was planning to use the blood samples to create a cure for Jack Russell, agreed to help Morbius out by giving him more of his blood to help with the cure.[41]

During the Origin of the Species storyline, Morbius was among the supervillains recruited by Doctor Octopus to secure some items for him.[42]

During the events of Spider-Island, it was revealed to the reader that Morbius was the mysterious Number Six working at Horizon Labs. He assisted, wearing a hazmat suit to conceal his identity, in preparing the cure to the spider-powers virus.[43] When Peter Parker tried to investigate the identity of "Number Six", he accidentally provoked Morbius—who had been using the cure to try to develop a basis for a cure for his own condition—into a frenzy, prompting the staff at Horizon to step up building security (making it harder for Peter to enter and exit the building as Spider-Man in the future) and also forcing Morbius to leave, where it was revealed that he had been working with the Lizard, presumably trying to find a cure for both of their conditions. It was also revealed that Morbius was a college friend of Max Modell.[44] Using DNA samples from the corpse of Billy Connors, Morbius was able to create a cure that would restore the Lizard to human form, but he failed to recognize that the Lizard had completely destroyed Curt Connors' human persona.[45] The Lizard was left alone in Morbius's lab, allowing him to release blood into the lab's air supply to provoke the injured Morbius into attacking the other Horizon scientists. This prompted Morbius to flee the lab, with Spider-Man in pursuit.[46] Morbius was captured by Spider-Man and locked up in a cell in the Raft.[47]

When Peter Parker (whose mind was now in Doctor Octopus's dying body) needed some supervillains to help capture Otto Octavius (whose mind was now in Spider-Man's body), Morbius offered to help, but was rejected.[48] Morbius eventually escaped from the Raft[49] and fled to Brownsville.[50]

After some time, he tried to stop some vampires in Barcelona, but got captured by them and locked in a coffin. The vampires wanted to mix their blood with that of Morbius, until he got unintentionally saved by Domino, Diamondback and the Outlaw. After telling them about the vampires' plan, they agree to help him kill King Morbius (a true vampire infected with Morbius's blood). Then after killing him, a vampire hunter tried to kill Morbius, but thanks to Domino, he escaped.[51]

Dead Island 2 Slayers X Reader Headcanons (Part 4!)

Amy:

-You once caught Amy playing with a small puzzle piece on a string. When asked about it, she was very shy about it at first. But after thinking it over she decided to open up about it. It’s actually a little gift from her twin sister. Amy’ sister actually has the other half of the puzzle piece and the two of them fit together. Since meeting you she’s actually started considering getting a third piece for you to have. *

-At the theater she tried to sneak away with a few Romero Awards that were left lying around, because when would she ever get another chance at holding one? Plus, she planned on gifting one of them to her sister as a souvenir. 

-You and Amy sometimes share gum via a kiss, which grosses out some of the other survivors. Which Amy finds kind of BS, because they are all regularly covered in zombie guts.

-Amy once wanted to go back to her old school where she taught her students, but was afraid of what she would find. You promised to be there with her the entire time when she felt ready to go back and clear it out.

-Amy has been floating the idea of scavenging one or two arcade machines for the Gameroom back at Emma’s mansion. You’ve tried to tell her that this will be a lot of work and you could just play all sorts of other games. But the fun of playing on an actual arcade machine is worth it, nothing beats the classics. Looks like you might have to raid the pier at some point to give her a nice surprise when she comes back from a supply run.

Bruno:

-Loves talking about his grandfather now and again, and genuinely appreciates when you let him do so and don’t get annoyed or tired of him geeking out over his family. 

-Hated visiting the Santa Monica peer and fighting the Autophage Apex Clown there. Bruno isn’t afraid of clowns, but that freak there almost gave him a phobia of them. When one shows up he might hide behind you because you are braver than him against them.

-Would absolutely clear out the Theater for you so that the two of you could watch movies there and take selfies with the various Hollywood stars on the Walk of Fame. 

-Has started thinking about setting up playlists for you and the group that can be broadcast over one of the radio frequencies to give you all something to listen to when going around Hell-A saving people and fighting Zeds.

-In his free time Bruno has started teaching you some concepts of Tarot cards and asking Lady Luck to look out for you.

Carla:

-Unironically loves blaring Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina” when driving around, and will get so excited if you sing along with her even if you don’t speak any Spanish. Tell anyone else about it and she will punch you in the arm (but since she loves you, you get only 5% of the normal force she’d use).

-She got pretty mad at the Santa Monica peer when she played one of those rigged claw games and tried to get herself a stuffed shark. Spent almost five dollars worth of scavenged coins to get one. She nearly smashes the machine open, but she really wanted to win one fair and square, to prove her skill to the machine.

-Would absolutely steal one of the walk of fame stars for you and bring it back to the hideout as a nice gift to you. Might not be the best plan in the world, but it’s the thought that counts.

-On the boardwalk by the beach she showed off just how much she can actually lift, and trying to bring some of it back to Emma’s mansion.

-For as much as an adrenaline junkie she can be, she doesn’t like the rush she gets when you are in danger. It feels terrible, full of fear and anxiety, rather than the world spinning rush she normally loves when doing something dangerous. 

Dani:

-When the Clown Apex roared at you both and made you jump, Dani actually roared back at it to establish dominance, but also because she didn’t like seeing you so freaked out by any kind of zombie.

-While she is more than happy to do everyone’s hair, she does not let anyone style her own hair, not even you. 

-While she’s a skilled drinker she’s not actually good at doing some of those shot glass tricks you sometimes see on the internet. She’s actually trying to learn how to do them just to impress you.

-Sometimes when you both sleep together she utterly becomes a cuddle bug and refuses to let you get up and out of bed for at least another thirty minutes in the morning.

-During days off from zombie slaying, she will sit back in the pool and drink while listening to music, though whenever you join her she spends a significant portion of that time watching and admiring you.

Jacob:

-Jacob can sometimes be a little sensitive about his damaged right eye (both because it aches in sunlight and because of how much it stands out). So you sometimes make it a point to gently pull off his sunglasses when you are alone together at night, to look at his eyes as they are and show him it doesn’t matter, you still love him.

-Likes to share his smokes with you, and its becoming common for the both of you to just pass the same one around whenever you’re nearby. 

-He shows you some of his old stuntman tricks in areas you have cleared out of Zeds, so that you can better move and fight across Hell-A.

-Has been eager to show you off to his mother, and actually changes his style of dress and hair style when taking a more ‘official’ looking photo for his mom to send to her when you can all finally get a signal out of Hell-A.

-Assures you that hanging on to the tire of a plane in midair was absolutely not the wildest or most dangerous stunt he’s ever done. But that he’d do it all over again because it meant he got to meet you.

Ryan:

-When it was your birthday, Ryan had a special surprise for you by showing you just what he used to do as a male dancer. It was a private show, but everyone knew what was going on just from how much effort Ryan put into cleaning himself up, and how loud the music was during the dance.

-You both actually found the costume shop where Ryan got his fake firefighter helmet and he went into detail about how many costumes he tried on before he was confident enough to try and pull a fast one at the evacuation zone, so of course you ask him if he’d be willing to try some of them on again just for you, and you ended up doing the same for him. 

-You found out that his brother has some teasing names for Ryan, and you have become desperate in trying to guess them. Yet he still holds strong in keeping them from you. I guess you will have to find new names to tease him with.

-If you don’t know how to dance Ryan will be more than happy to teach you. Don’t laugh! Of course he knows how to do more than just stripping. Knowing different kinds of dance styles is paramount to being the best dancer at his agency.

-When Ryan found out you always had the hots for an old 90s Pup Action hero he actually went out of his way to find a costume of it and a fake moustache. Surprisingly he can really pull it off. 

All Purpose Headcanons:

-After you evacuated Sam, Emma and Patton on the chopper your lover, and the other Slayers stood together as one force. Utterly wiping out the swarm of infected, cutting through them all like a scythe through wheat. Seeing all of you working together, the Eschaton Group realized that there was finally someone out there who could challenge them. For the first time now there was something which stood in stark opposition to their ‘Survival of the fittest’ policy, and instead put forth a ‘Survival of the United’ ideal.

-With all of the people you’ve been saving, your reputation amongst Hell-A’s survivor communities is starting to get serious, and more people are actively calling on the radios for ‘The Slayers’ to come and help them. You’re becoming the saviors of Hell-A.

-Given how big Hell-A is, and how many people need help, you can’t always move together as one massive group, and instead have to split into teams to help where you ae most needed and best suited. But when you are all together into one badass zombie slaying mob, there isn’t a single Zed out there who can stand against you.

OOC:  (*So, according to an AMA by the devs it turns out that what Amy had around her neck was a puzzle piece that matches one her twin sister also has. All this time I thought it was a little cross she prayed to or kissed when she was afraid. I never got a good look at it and kind of wish the puzzle piece aspect had gotten more focus in her cutscenes.)

Letter A-Z

A Arabic:

My second language is Arabic. I grew up in a household where Arabic was more spoken than English. I learned Arabic because I wanted to have the ability of reading the Quran. As a Muslim and an Arab, I was able to read the Quran because it was written in Arabic. The fact I know this language helped me engage in Arabic conversations with my friends and family, and I had the ability to write words in Arabic. At the high school I Graduated from, they had Arabic teachers who would help students learn, read ,and write Arabic. Personally, learning Arabic was an easy skill because I was taught overseas for two summers. I did run into challenges with my Arabic teachers ,but I was able to keep up and pass the class. 

B Bad Habits- A Procrastinator, over thinker 

As a student, I am not perfect. I had bad habits like procrastination and I would overthink everything when it would come to writing an essay. It was one time in my English Class I had waited last minute to write a five page essay. It did not go so well.  I still procrastinate sometimes and I really hope eventually I break out of this. Also, I overthink everything. I would be like “Do I put this word here or there?” I have this bad habit where something so easy that could be done in 5 minutes, I overthink it ,and it would be done like in 20 minutes. I am only human and I am not perfect and eventually I hope I break out of these bad habits. 

C: Comprehension 

Throughout my years in English, my comprehension has improved significantly. When I first started learning how to comprehend in reading texts it didn’t go so well. I believe what helped me the most was my parents. My parents put in a facility that really helped strengthen my reading comprehension. This facility was Pleasant View School.  English is my second language. Sometime when I try to understand a text in a passage, I would end up having to translating in to Arabic to help me understand it better.

D: Demon Slayer (Positive reading and TV series)

 Just recently, I have been watching this Anime and reading the comic that goes with the series. What I like about these kind of shows is that the episode in the series is always left with cliffhanger and same thing goes with comic. It makes the reader or the watcher make prediction or think about what will happen next in the shows. People are very eager to find out what happens next, so people who are not patient for the next episode read the manga. Since the Anime is in Japanese and has English subtitles, it really helps to understand what they are saying, and even sometimes you can even pick up some words in Japanese and even know how to say phrases. An example of this is, “Domo Arigato”, which means thank you in Japanese another example is like “Omae Wa Mo Shindeiru” , which in Japanese means “you are already dead.” So watching shows in different languages and with English subtitles really helps build a new language and helps you understand it more if you ever hear someone speak that language.

E: Edgar Allen Poe 

When I was in middle school sometimes teachers would make us read short story made by Edgar Allen Poe. There was one I read about a vulture eye and how the man was freaking out every time he saw the old man’s vulture eye. This short story gave me nightmares that day that I read it. It was an interesting short story to read ,but a bit too much for my age at the time. After that school year, I don’t recall reading a short story like that, until I was in high school.

 F: Freshman Writing 

Freshman Writing. So far so good. First year at the University of Memphis and my writing is getting better. So far, I have been writing an alpha biography. This enables me to use the 26 letter of the alphabet to describe our literacy. I really enjoyed this class so far. We did writings about Malcolm X and how he taught himself to read and write. There is more writings to come in this class ,but I should be prepared for the time coming.

Giver by Lois Lowry

  I enjoyed this book because it helped opened my mind up into reading more books as a kid. This book talked about a Utopian Society with people that had short term memory. The purpose of this book was to talk about how important to a human in the Giver, to eliminate conflict and pain from his or her lives. This ideology of memory loss, one will not experience pain, grief, and regret throughout their lives. In this society, there council also believed that this would prevent conflict with one another. I really enjoyed this book because it really had me thinking as kid and even until know to be honest.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen 

This was a positive reading for me because this also one of my first readings after the Giver by Lois lowry when I was a kid. This book talked about how a boy and the pilot crashed landed on a island, with nothing with them. Throughout this book, the pilot had eventually died and it was just the kid. One thing about this book that it ends on a cliffhanger so it really gets you thinking about what happens after.  I enjoyed this book a lot because it talked about survival and what one must do to survive alone. 

I: Immigration 

In my Senior year of high school, our teacher made us read a book called The Book of Isaiah. The book talked about how Hispanics survived the situations they were in. These Hispanics all went to a school called Kings bury High school. There was 18-year-old high school senior Isaiah Ramos plays in a  rock group called Los Psychosis. The counselors as his high school wanted him to apply to Harvard and other high end universities. Isaiah himself was not feeling the whole idea of college. He was thinking about going work the family business, which was painting house with his family. His parents were illegal immigrants  This story talks about more than just Isaiah’ story. Mexican immigration has brought awareness to the people. Every day, children of immigrants make decisions about their lives that will form our society and the economy for the generations now and the generations to come. 

Letter J:

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson

This novel talked about how Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer would fight for people who were wrongfully put in jail and later put on death row to receive the death penalty. This book also talked about how some people were put on the death penalty ,because of their mental health and he believed that it was unfair for people with mental disorder not to receive a trial. This book inspired me to write a research paper on how should one be considered to have  mental disorder. I later gave turned this research paper in to something I spoke in my class. It was a topic based on whether or not the death penalty should be something the government should still use. Before I read this book, I was not fully aware about how people with mental health were put on death row with receiving a trial. Because of this book, it allowed to recognize whether or not is this government really just or not. It also helped me recognized that when I was doing this research paper  that there was a law passed that, in order for a person to be considered to have a mental disorder he or she should have to follow a certain criteria and be tested for it.

Letter K:

To Kill A Mockingbird- a 10th grade reading. I really did not enjoy this reading because at the time I had no idea what was going on class. I am just sitting there confused asking for help. The book basically talked about how a lawyer is trying to help black man that is accused of raping a white woman. This book I really did not enjoy. It was very boring at the time, and it is not something I would read again.

L: Lord of the flies

Lord of the Flies- a 9th grade reading. The author of this book is William Golding. This book talked about how a group of young boys get stranded on a deserted island. Throughout the book, these kids are developing rules and a system of organization, but these kids are non civilized because there are no adults involved.Eventually, the kids end up becoming more violent and brutal.

M: Macbeth by William Shakespeare

Macbeth, a play made by William Shakespeare. Throughout my years of high school I have never read a book or a play created by William Shakespeare. So the English teacher advised me to read this book with the 9th grade class. To be honest, I did not know what to expect from this book. This book talked about how a Scottish general by the name of Macbeth had received a prophecy from three witches saying that one day he will end up becoming the King of Scotland. Because of his consumption of ambition, Macbeth Ends up Murdering King Duncan and takes the throne for himself and later is then filled and ends up becoming paranoid about it. Eventually, Macbeth is later killed by a man named MacDuff. To be honest, I did not enjoy this reading. Personally, I kinda found this book confusing at the time, and this is not something I would read for fun.     

N: Night by Elie Weisel 

 This book was based on a true story. It talked about how the author, Elie survived and the situation he went while he was in the concentration camps. The Holocaust took place between 1940-1945 and it end with the America coming winning World War II and going Germany to aid the surviving Jews. This book was a good reading cause it helps one understand what a Jew was going through from a first person perspective and it really and it created a form a sympathetic reaction towards the Jews. Elie Weisel survived the Holocaust and winning a Nobel Prize. Eventually, he died in Manhattan, New York in the year 2016.

O: Old Man and the Sea By Earnest Hemingway 

This book talked about how an old fisherman named Santiago go into a battle with a large marlin. This fisherman goes 84 days not catching a single fish. With Perseverance and not having the will of giving up he ends up catching the Merlin. 

P: 25 page paper on NATO and The Cold war 

 This paper was probably the most longest and most obnoxious thing I have ever wrote. This paper was used as my entry to the National History Fair. I spend over more than two weeks planning this paper out and then it took me over a week and a half to write it. This was a terrible experience because on the day of the judging, I was nervous to speak and when I tried to explain an idea to the judges I kept getting cut off. I ended up losing the competition. From that day on, never did a project paper again.

 Q. Quran 

This is a positive for me, because the Quran is the book of Islam ,and it has rules and regulation based on what a Muslim can do and can’t do. As a muslim, it is very important to have the ability to read and understand the Quran. 

R: Rhetorical Analysis of the Declaration of Independence 

    This was a negative writing because I waited for the last minute to finish a 5-6 page paper. I ended up doing bad on this paper obviously ,because I procrastinated while I have about 2 weeks to finish it. This was probably the worst paper I have ever written, outside my bad experience  I had with writing about NATO and the Cold War. This purpose of this paper was to dissect what it meant to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and why Thomas Jefferson did not use life, liberty and property. 

Letter S: Son By Lois Lowry   

    This book is the combination of all the books the author Lois Lowry has written. This book comprises of four books and of the four, is The Giver. This book talked about how Jonas was in a Utopian society where everyone forgot what pain felt like and did not see color ,only Jonas. This book is a continuation of the Giver. The boy Gabriel was about to get killed  in the Nurturing home because he was not fit enough to be a part of Claire’s family ,which was his mother. Before he can get killed, Jonas takes him and runs away from the town. Claire eventually leaves the town and gives up her years just to watch her son Gabriel grow into a man. The book ends with Gabriel fighting the trade master and he beats him with out physically attacking him. He beat him with a mind game.  This book was a positive read because it was really something that helped think within. I enjoyed the whole ideology of imagining a society without feeling pain.

Letter T 

The Good Earth

This book was written by Pearl S. Buck. It talked about how a woman was married to man named Wang Lung, and had multiple kids with him. This woman, his wife was doing most of hard work and labor around the house. At some point time in the book, there was a famine and the family and her had go out and beg for money. This book was a positive reading for me because it show what kind of work a woman would do to keep a family unified and help them survive through tough situations. 

Letter U:

Ap Us History. I loathed this class my senior year. I did well in the class ,but I failed the Ap exam. Because of me failing this exam, I am having to retake the same exact class this semester my freshman at the University of Memphis. Out of he subjects I have taken, History and English are not my strong suit, but that does not mean I won’t try. 

V: Mrs.V

She was my 8th grade Honors English teacher. As a teacher, she was very helpful, but as a person she was rude. It never bothered me at all. It was one time in that she was grading literary analyses and she looked at one of them and started to laugh. She called her out on how bad it was, and the girl started to cry, because the teachers was bashing her on how bad it was. She ended up dropping the class that year and took it with a different teacher. The teacher said things like "You call that an Essay, and then she and the whole class started to laugh. She started crying and said," Will I tried my best". She had a little bit of attitude and then her and the teacher started arguing, whilst the whole class was laughing. 

W: Other Wes Moore

 Other Wes Moore- 12th Grade reading. This book talked about how two people who both lived in the same area under the same circumstances. One wes moore became a writer ,while the other one became a criminal and thrown in jail. Wes Moore goes visits the one in jail and together they create a book called the Other Wes Moore. Same names, different Stories. 

 Letter X: Malcolm X

A writer, A public speaker, A inspirer- Malcolm X. Malcolm X was considered a literary sponsor because people were inspired by his hard work and the material he put forth to the table. Malcolm X a man who did not know how to speak proper English, and later taught himself in prison, how to read and write.  In jail, Malcom X every time he would see the guard he went pretend to fall asleep. Then he will wake back up and finish reading the book he was on. Malcolm X an African American individual went from a man who did not know how read and write and taught himself in a prison using a dictionary and learning every single word in there. He ended up becoming a spokesperson and inspiring African Americans about civil right and how they must fight for what is right. When he  was in jail, there were people who debate about the reading they read, and that Malcom believed that they were seen as celebrities.

Y: Yawning 

Falling asleep in class, that is something I always tend to do. This habit is right below procrastination. It was countless times, especially in English, where the teacher would be giving us the rubric for an assignment or we are just discussing something and I would just zone out ,or even fall asleep. It gets awkward in class ,because sometimes I would be talking in my sleep, or even start snoring. What makes this even worst,  is that I will be sitting in the first column and the teacher will start calling me out and I will lose point ,because participation was a grade in my class.  

Z:

(You have been a vampire since 1749. You left *your birth place* to the USA back in 1973 but been living in Los Angeles since 2016.You have gone used to being alone for decades after all of your family and friends died,so you go and work one of your odd jobs and stack up on blood:from hospitals to blood banks.This was your life until it wasn’t…zombies was everywhere and was ripping into anything that was not one of them.You had a clear advantage from humans with your super strength and speed, ability to turn into a bat,float and fly and that you don’t need food,water and sleep to live but you need blood and getting blood from humans without harming them was now limited,making animal blood the only option for now. On one faithful night,you were getting supplies from a grocery store and you were in desperate need of blood when you found the jackpot:A pack of chicken breast soaking in blood.You immediately poked a hole in the package and started to drink the blood with your fangs out,In the middle of your feeding,you heard a gasp and whipped your head around & you were face to face with a survivor.Oh no….)

AMY

•Stood there for only five seconds and made a bolt for the door but you immediately caught her

•”NO!NO!PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!”, “I promise I’m not going to hurt you,but I need you to be quiet okay?”

•After agreeing to stay quiet because of zombies,you get what you guys needed and run out(with you of course beating the Paralympian)

•The next night,she comes back with some ground beef soaked in blood as a peace offering,you did the same with canned fruit and you two have been close since.

•Is amazed by your super speed and you help her improve on her skills.

•She asks about your life before the apocalypse and you do the same.

•On some nights you let her ride on your back and run all around HELL-A;all while she laughing and is have a great time.

RYAN

•Starts running without hesitation and you caught him instantaneous.

•”I’M NOT A V*RGIN,I SWEAR!” “What?No,ew..You was being loud. “…oh”.

•You help what you thought was a real firefighter to get as much stuff you guys needed and bolted.

•The next night,he told you that he was actually a stripper and you laughed your ass off,with him following suit and that how you guys met.

•You show him painting of men back in the 1700s and he laughed his ass off.

•He hacks zombie heads with his fire axe while you search for more supplies.

• You show him turning yourself into a bat and pick him up like it’s nothing,You two do it almost every night.

BRUNO

•Was white as a sheet but didn’t make a run for it

•”Are you…..a vampire?” “Yes and I’m not going to harm you (crosses heart) I promise.

•You guys left the store after looting it for it’s remaining value.

•He actually came back with a pack of cookies as a thank you for helping him and not killing him.You welcomed him into your hiding spot and the rest is history.

•You two purposely confuse each other :His Gen Z slang and the ancient version of your first language.

•You tell him stories on how you hustle some rich folks back in the day and he be writing them down for future reference.

•One of each other best memories together when you fly over the city with Bruno on your back so he can see his Hometown in this breathtaking view.

CARLA

•Almost vomited but stopped herself

•”Ew,què carajo?! why are doing that?!” “Because I’m a vampire.” “Oh…..FUCKING A!!!”

•You two leave with the best stuff in HELL-A.

•The next night; she came by you on her bike, offering to give you a ride to wherever you were going as a thank you for helping her and you two have been stuck like glue.

•You two take turns bench pressing each other,saying to the other that they weight less then a feather.

•Have to leave the room when you’re about to feed so you don’t make her sick,knowing she’s a vegetarian.

•Is still amazed by your super strength and with you two still walking and talking,these zombies don’t stand a chance!

JACOB

•He just stood there unfazed

•When you two was finally done laughing,you two parted ways with your supplies.

•You found him on a rooftop one night and invited you for a smoke and that’s you two story on how you two met.

•You two also shares your fondest memories about each other moms,showing each other photos,jewelry and makeup.

•Always and I am ALWAYS makes vampire jokes,puns and quotes when he given the opportunity.At first it was annoying but now it’s endearing to you and only you.

DANI

•Immediately pulled out a shotgun

•”How do I know your not allies with those feckers out there?!” “I would of already alerted them when I first saw you.You see any running towards you?” “No,I guess not,Besides I don’t have silver bullets.”

•You two left without saying another word to each other

•You two saw each other again the other night and you both punched a hole into a zombie head at the same time.You two shook hands and that’s that.

Once you'd led the others far enough toward the river, you stopped and pointed. "River's that way. Watch out for ants. Bye now."

James snagged your arm and tugged you to stand beside him. You huffed in irritation. "What my lovely wife here meant to say was the boat is in that direction. Just keep going straight on and you should find it. Wait for us until dawn. If we're not there, leave us."

"Where are you two going?" Hank asked.

"To stop Packard," you answered as you shifted your weight, eager to get going.

"Not without me," Hank argued and slid his sword into its sheath.

You shook your head. "Hank, I need you to go with them and keep them safe. We both know I'm far more likely to do what needs to be done. You're the one that gave me my nickname after all. And as much as I love you, buddy, if I end up stuck here again, I'd rather have my husband beside me."

Hank still looked undecided. James put his hand on the other man's shoulder. "It's time for you to go home."

Hank nodded. "Tell the big ape bye for me, Slayer."

"Will do." 

Mason came over to stand beside you and James. You arched a brow at her in question. "I'm coming with you."

"No offense, Mason, but I haven't seen you pick up anything besides your camera. This isn't a sightseeing expedition. Go with the others." With that you turned and began to hurry through the trees. James shortly fell into rhythm with you as you hurried in the direction Packard and his men had gone. Explosions tore through the air and shook the ground and you adjusted your path slightly so you were heading toward the source of the sound.

You cursed as you heard Kong howl in rage and pain. You were almost there. You had to be. You forced yourself to run faster. Kong couldn't die. When you found the others, your gun was up in seconds, aimed right at the madman's head. He had some sort of detonator in his hand. "Put it down, Packard." You stepped between him and Kong. 

The few men that still lived pointed their weapons at you. You spared them a glance but nothing more. They wouldn't kill you. They were tired of war and tired of the crazy man in front of you. They might feel like they owed him something but they had to see he wasn't sane. James stepped out behind them and pointed his handguns at two of them. "Now, that's no way to treat a lady." Half the weapons shifted to cover him. 

You tried to locate the explosives without taking your eyes from Packard, but you weren't having much luck. He glowered at you, pure hate shining in his eyes and flipped on the detonator. "Stop. Just stop!" you yelled. "You've lost it, Packard. You kill Kong and you kill everyone on this island. You set off those explosives right now and you kill all of us, including your men."

"My men are willing to make the sacrifice to protect our country, our families, from that thing."

"Are they?" you asked and looked past him to where Slivko now had his weapon pointed at the Colonel. Packard followed your line of sight and reached for his own firearm. "Do it and die," you warned.

The other men lowered their weapons realizing just how insane this whole thing was. "No one has to die here tonight, including Kong," James said. 

Packard looked as if he were about to respond when the water beside you bubbled then exploded into the air. The largest skull crawler you'd ever seen landed in the water and stared in your direction.

"Fall back," James yelled to the others and the soldiers scrambled. 

Packard was in shock, staring at the creature you'd warned him of earlier. James yelled at him trying to get him to move and you turned to Kong. You placed one hand on his nose and tried not to cry as you really noticed the shape he was in. Your poor friend. 

His dark eyes fluttered open and stared at you. You leaned against his face and ran your hand through his fur. "Come on, Kong. You've got to get up."

He grunted and groaned, but didn't move.

Hot tears rolled down your face. James tugged at your arm. "We've got to go, Y/N."

You shrugged him off and returned to comforting Kong. "I know you're hurting, buddy. Probably worse than you ever have before but you've got to get up. If you don't, that thing's going to kill you then eat its way through the rest of the island. Get up, Kong. I know you can do it."

His gaze moved from you to Packard who stood behind you and you finally let James tug you out of the way. Kong rose just far enough to bring his fist down on Packard. "That's one problem gone," you muttered to yourself and pulled from James's grip once more to stop and watch Kong fight the giant beast. 

It didn't take long for Kong to go down under the weight of the lizard. "Come on. Get up," you begged. Suddenly, you were swept off your feet and carried in the other direction a ways before being put back on the ground. "Kong's down. Let's go," James ordered. You nodded and shoved your concern for your enormous friend aside. Right now you needed to focus on getting off this island with your husband.

You all reached the edge of the island at daybreak. You hoped like hell the others hadn't listened when you said to leave. James handed you a flare gun and a spare flare. "Get up on those rocks and fire a flare. Hopefully Hank will see it. We'll buy you time."

You wanted to argue, but you knew you were the best person for the job. You'd been climbing the rocks on this island for years. You stood on your toes and gave your husband a quick kiss before running toward the rocky ridge. 

You didn't look back when you heard the heavy footsteps of the beast crash from the woods. You didn't look back when you heard it's ear piercing screech. You didn't even look back when you heard the explosion that could have only come from the others. However, when you heard a familiar roar from your favorite ape you couldn't help but look in that direction. You were just in time to watch Kong smash a giant boulder into the head of his foe. 

Your heart skipped and you laughed as you grinned. He was still alive! Maybe things weren't so hopeless after all. As much as you wanted to watch the epic battle taking place, you had a job to do. You turned your attention back to the stones you were scrambling up. Scrapes and cuts littered all of your exposed skin, but you ignored the discomfort and kept climbing. Once you reached the crest of the ridge, you stood and fired the flare gun into the air. 

You also now had the perfect viewpoint for the fight between the two massive creatures. They tumbled in the water below. Kong would throw the lizard or grab it by the neck while it snapped its massive jaws. It was impossible to tell which beast was coming out on top. You flinched as Kong flew into some old wreckage and chains wrapped around his bulky form. 

The lizard stood on his chest while Kong roared and struggled to break free. Suddenly, bullets tore through the air and into the skull crawler. Not that it would do much good, but at least they distracted the bastard. You cheered when you realized the bullets were coming from the boat. When the firing ceased, the lizard began to make its way toward your friends. "Kong! Get up!" you screamed and bounced on your feet. He looked at you then managed to pull himself to his feet, chains and all. 

As he struggled to break the chains, you reloaded the flare gun. You aimed and fired, hitting the lizard bastard right in the eye. It screeched and clawed at the burning flare. Then the guns began firing again. When the beast turned you realized it was chasing something. It only took a moment for you to see your husband splashing through the muck. Your heart froze in your chest for a moment before it began to race. Fear for the love of your life flooded through you. "James, you idiot. What are you doing?"

It was then that Kong hurled a large propeller through the air. The blade pierced the skull crusher's side and sent him to the ground. Kong and his foe began to fight and wrestle once more. As the lizard flew through the air, you watched with horrified fascination as it slammed into the ridge on which you stood. Rock exploded around you and you flew backward into the air. You screamed for Kong even as James screamed for you. 

The impact with the water forced the air from your lungs and sent your body into shock. You wanted to struggle, to swim for the shore, but you lost the battle. Your last thought was of your husband as everything went dark.

(James POV)

No! It wasn't possible. We couldn't have come all this way only for me to lose her again. Y/N had survived here all this time against impossible odds. I couldn't let it end here. Not now. Not ever. I couldn't bear to lose her again. I don't think I could survive it a second time.

Ignoring the beasts howling and raging at each other, I sloughed through the water and the muck trying to reach her in time. Every dragging step felt like an eternity. I hadn't even gotten close to her when Kong reached into the water and pulled her out. 

My relief was short lived as the lizard thing attacked again. Kong still had Y/N clutched in his fist. How could he possibly not be crushing her? Finally, finally, he ripped out the lizard's tongue and it dropped to the ground dead. 

Kong opened his hand and I could have sworn he smiled. He placed Y/N on the ground and I rushed in that direction desperate to make sure she was alive. 

I scrambled across the ground and knelt over her. I cupped her head in my hands. "Breathe, baby. Come on, damn it. Breathe."

(Reader POV)

You sat up suddenly and coughed up a lungful of water. It burned and your throat ached, but you were alive and breathing. 

James helped support you and pushed your hair off your face. "Hey. You okay?" he asked, his eyes looking you over. 

You hooked a hand around his arm and nodded even as you turned to look at Kong as he walked away. He glanced back once and his gaze found you. He seemed satisfied that you were alive and continued on his way. 

You turned back to James and threw your arms around his neck. Pulling back, you kissed him tenderly then wrapped your arms around him again.

He made calming noises as he held you. You sucked in a breath and began to cry in ragged sobs as you realized you'd made it. You'd found home in your husband's arms and you were getting off this bloody island.

You had been sitting in this room with Mason and James for hours. All you wanted to do was get the hell out here, take a shower , crawl into a real bed and sleep for week wrapped in your husband's arms. 

James had resorted to yelling at the large mirror on the wall. Mason was threatening to tell foreign governments while he said you wouldn't tell anyone and you'd forget the island even existed. 

And you? You sat in your chair, arms crossed over your chest and stared at the glass in front of you without saying a word. You'd learned patience during your time on the island. Besides, whoever was on the other side probably found it slightly unsettling and that made you happy. 

James would occasionally glance at you, ask if you were all right and you'd just nod and continue staring. Finally, Brooks and San walked into the room. 

"What the hell is going on, Brooks?" your husband demanded. 

"Welcome to Monarch," he said and laid a folder on the table as they took the chairs on the other side. He proceeded to flip through several pictures. You continued to watch silently. Your gaze shifted to the wall when a film began to play.

Cave drawings of monsters. "Proof" of other giant creatures. As the film flashed from image to image you said the first words you'd spoken since you'd arrived at the facility.

"Oh, hell no."

Dead Island 2 Slayers X New Numen Reader. (Female).

You failed to get to the evacuation zones in time. There were just so many zombies around, so much chaos, and the earthquakes damaged the roads, preventing you from taking any of the pre-prepared routes. By the time the military pulled out and set up the quarantine zone, it was already too late. 

You were trapped in Hell-A, and you had no choice but to run, hide, and pray for the storm to pass. Days turned to weeks, and the earthquakes continued, causing power and water to be inconsistent until it shut down completely. You had to survive by moving from house to house, hoping to find enough resources to live just one more day, and not to run into any marauders who might be interested in taking advantage of the situation and a lone woman without a group.

You were pretty lucky at first, none of the infected around you were anything more than rotting Shamblers who could be outpaced by a fast walk or a light jog. But your luck was set to run out, as a Butcher moved into your area, and began stalking you. It could smell your blood, hear it pulsing in your veins, and it wanted to hear the musical rhythm of your heart beating in terror as it slaughtered you. Like a skilled predator, it waited until you were vulnerable, when it came in for the lunge, and you first knew of its presence by being impaled in the side by one of its bone spikes, then by a bite on your face.

You were mauled by several of the infected, tossed about like a ragdoll, bitten into. You only barely escaped with your life by biting the Butcher right back and tearing off its nose. While it was confused and in pain you fled and found an alleyway to recover and think up a better plan, hiding in a dumpster, where the stink of it hid your scent from the Butcher, long enough for the virus to course through your body and begin repairing you. Parts of your body are different now, your eyes are a different color, almost like one of the infected, your jaw feels strong enough to crunch bone (like a dog does), and you feel like you have way more energy than you did before your infection.

Something in your blood responded to the virus, and it began to work with you rather than against you. It called out to others like you, and you could sense them nearby, but so could the Butcher, as it finally chased you out of the dumpster and into the streets, where someone else finally came to your rescue. 

Amy:

-Amy saved you from the butcher by running in with a war cry and a pistol, firing off bullets as fast as she could pull the trigger. While the Butcher was fast, she was even faster, moving like the wind. She ducked and weaved round the Butcher’s strikes, using some old cavalry sword that she’d made sharp with some mods to slice the Butcher up. Once it was dealt with, she focused on getting you to safety, and has been by your side since then.

- Amy has been a great help in getting you used to your new status and keeping your spirits up. She’s had to go through the loss of a leg, and turning that into a positive, as well as the shock of discovering she was a Numen. She knows what you are going through even more than you do, and is always there to empathize with you.

-When Amy trains you she focuses on building up your stamina as much as possible. Even if you have super speed you wont always be able to use it and sometimes being able to outlast an enemy in a fight is more important than being stronger than them.

-Whenever you feel ashamed about your bite and stab scars, Amy will take time to ask you to help her adjust her prosthetic leg as a subtle way of showing she understands, and to show how much she trusts you by letting you help her in that way.

Bruno:

-Bruno showed up by doing one of those action movie slides over the hood of a car and shouting for the Butcher attacking you to “Pick on someone who hits back!”. Bruno brought the hurt on the Butcher with an electrified machete, that sent the monster reeling back and screaming as 1.21 Gigawatts of ‘payback’ flowed through its body. Once it was dead, he used that same electric machete to jumpstart a car and use it to take you back to Emma’s mansion where you could be given first aid.

-While you were recovering and still healing from the Butcher’s attack, Bruno was always there to help you out and had several calming playlists to keep your mind from panicking too much as your body put itself back together and the group slowly introduced you to what they knew about being a Numen.

-Bruno teaches you a lot about gadgets and inventions (almost as much as he does about music and videos) and wants to make sure you always have some trick up your sleeve if you are ever in danger.

-You’re starting to pick up that Bruno goes out of his way t make your music playlists empowering to you or to help you come to terms with being humanity 2.0, but in a good way, more heroic than what the Eschaton Group is like.

Carla:

-Carla came roaring in on one of her fixed up motorcycles when she sensed you in danger. Like something out of an action movie she jumped off the back of the bike and let it slam right into the Butcher, knocking it off its feet, while she pulled out a tricked out mace to smash the Butcher’s head in. Once the threat was dealt with, she put you into a princess carry and ran with you all the way to Emma’s place, kicking zombies to death along the way while constantly talking to you to keep you from going to sleep.

-Carla knows your fast, but she trains you to build up some upper body strength. You can use both speed and strength to get the upper hand on any Butchers who come after you in the future. Carla won’t always be around, but she wants you to be safe.

-Whenever she gets a motorcycle working again, she loves pulling wheelies and showing off that same trick which helped her to save you. Sure she’s wrecked a few bikes, but its worth it for her to see that glimmer in your eyes.

-Carla sometimes struggles to train you as much as she wants during sparring sessions because she doesn’t want to accidentally hurt you.

Dani:

-Dani’s accent was one of the first things you noticed when she came to your rescue. Matched only by the constant cacophony of gunfire from her. She seemed to have guns hidden in hammerspace, as each time a magazine ran dry, she just pulled out a new one and kept on firing, even with how a Butcher seems supernaturally able to block bullets, it wasn’t able to stop every single shot and soon Dani had turned the Butcher into paste, before taking the time to provide you some initial First Aid. 

-Dani comforted you as you were taken back to Emma’s mansion, and you learned that a lot of hard swears can actually be pretty endearing when said with a comforting tone and some genuine care. 

-Dani has put you through a full gun safety course so you can soften up a Butcher (or any other threat) from afar before it can get too close to you, as well as teaching you to swear like a sailor and get yourself hyped up. Don’t get scared, get angry!

-She’s started trying out some different hairstyles to find something which matched your hair to your new Numen eyes, so you wouldn’t have to be afraid of looking different.

Jacob:

-Jacob played the role of the dashing hero out of nowhere, ducking and weaving through the attacks of the Butcher, while sometimes taking hits and managing to turn it around against the Butcher. Once he dispatched it (by turning a feint into a suplex that broke the Butcher’s back) he dropped his normally comedic attitude, and promised you that he’d get you help as he slid his arms under your own and started to pull you towards the mansion. 

-Jacob has always got a kind word or smart comment ready to help lift your spirits up, which proves very useful during training when he teaches you how to fold your body and handle getting hit, and turning it around against an enemy.

-The two of you tend to hang out a lot and just talk about things, a Jacob really impart his devil may care attitude about being a Numen to you. Its just the same as being a regular human but with extra steps.

-When you admitted fear and shame over other people seeing your mutated eyes, Jacob took the moment to gently remove his own sunglasses and show how he has one discolored eye, effectively blind in one eye even after becoming a Numen. He knows a lot about how you feel.

Ryan:

-When Ryan initially found you he was full on using a fake firefighter voice to sound heroic as he fought off the Butcher and eventually stomped the monster’s head in. He then put you into a fireman’s carry and ran with you all the way back to the mansion. Ryan didn’t know much first aid, but he had the strength and stamina to get you back to the mansion for treatment, where he chose to be by your side the entire time.

-It took you a while to learn Ryan’s secret, as he kept up an act of being a real First Responder to keep you calm and feeling safe. It wouldn’t be until after you made a full recovery that he told you the truth.

-Ryan’s training with you has been focused on helping you think on your feet and come up with responses and plans quickly when under attack. He isn’t much of a planner, but when the going gets tough he still manages to keep his head.

-When you both grew to trust one another more, Ryan admitted that he is always afraid. The mask of bravery he wears is an act for everyone else. So he can sympathize with you when you admit you are afraid of Butchers, but he also helps you to learn to mask that fear and keep it behind a mask, until the mask becomes real and the both of you are genuinely brave enough to fight whatever horrors Hell-A throws at you.

General Headcanons:

-The Eschaton Group tries to recruit you into their faction and pull you away from the Slayers. They know you have powers that the rest of your friends don’t, and they want that on their side. They tell you that the age of baseline humans is over. Numen are inherently superior and should rule the world to come. But you recall the fear and pain you endured while you were still a ‘baseline’ human. It pushes you to save others, and use your powers for the better. Great Power comes with Great Responsibility, and those with the means to protect others have a duty to do so.

-You’ve taken to wearing sunglasses to cover up your Numen eyes, so you don’t scare anyone with how different you are. Its even become a bit of a game for everyone to bring you some new sunglasses and see which one works best for you. Sometimes this leads to some very good finds, and other times it leads to hilarity as you are running around Hell-A slaying zombies in the most ridiculous sunglasses your friends could find.

-Your own Numen powers are beginning to develop the more you test them. While the others get things like super strength and rabid fury, you are developing the same kind of regeneration as them mixed with an incredible movement speed. When you trigger it you move faster and smoother than everyone else, its like they are all walking through water or mud while you stroll past them. It’s fast enough you could even dodge the strikes of a Butcher if one were to attack you again. It only lasts about ten seconds, but that is still just enough to finish off a zombie or to pull someone out of danger. 

-The sight of the Butcher infected still sometimes inspires fear in you. But you know you can handle it. You’re a Numen now, you have the power to beat the shit out of these monsters, to save people, and you have friends and a lover with you who have that same power. It will take some time to conquer this fear, but you know you can do it. 

-Since you have other Numen allies to help you master your new powers and status, you’re discovering that it is easier to control your abilities with those who support you and you’re learning it faster than the other Slayers who had to learn it from trial and error. It almost acts as a direct challenge to the ‘Sink or Swim’, method that the Eschaton Group uses.

-Your vision is slowly changing, you can see things, almost as if you can see through walls to pick up on when infected and uninfected are around, its let you get the jump on some of the more dangerous autophage variants out there.
