Phantom casually hanging around the WatchTower, probably in the cafeteria hanging out with Green Lantern, Flash, and Batman with a few little blob ghosts trilling and chirping while playing around Phantom. Everyone except for Phantom has a tray of food in front of them. Flash asks why no food, wondering if ghosts could eat or if Phantom just wasn't hungry. Phantom stares Flash directly in the eyes before grabbing a smaller blob ghost and putting the little creature in his mouth before chewing and swallowing. They were all visibly disturbed, especially since the other blob ghosts didn't seem all that concerned that Phantom just ate one of their friends. "I brought my own lunch today," Phantom replied proceeding to grab another blob ghost

Danny Phantom AU, where Vlad has mind control bites, that only work on ghosts (humans + halfas are immune) ... What if Vlad's bite mark can also tell Vlad where a bitten person is located? (Almost like a supernatural GPS!) ... So, Vlad can sense where Danny is, all the time (even though Danny is immune to Vlad's mind control)... Would Vlad use this to his advantage?... Would Vlad bite Danny again, if the bite mark fades? 🧛👻🧛

Vlad's built-in GPS (Ghost Positioning System) is accurate to within a tenth of an inch 📡👻

Day 3
If Danny had to describe his ghost half in a word, it would be hungry.
Not in any familiar way; there was nothing painful about it, no clawing feeling in his stomach.
There was only craving.
Ever since he’d seen those first ectopi come through the portal, he had felt that deep seated need, that urgency.
To consume.
It felt strange and a little too inaccurate to call it an instinct. It was so much less complicated, foreign…
Trying to describe it in human terms made feel confused. Thinking about it with his human mind made him feel nauseous. He’d much rather just stew in his core as it whirred intricately, whispering impulses into his very ectoplasm.
Danny understood that his core worked like a second mind, intimately so. But is wasn’t a brain… wasn’t human. It was such a foreign way to think, if you could even call it that.
But Danny had the compulsions that came with it under control. Really he did! Sure, he still reflexively bit the odd monster in a fight, and couldn’t help drinking in emotions when he was particularly drained, but it was fine! He could ignore it. It wasn’t a problem.
At least it hadn’t been until Lunch Lady. Not until the first ghost that was a person came through the portal and Danny was just as hungry as he’d ever been.
oOo
“It’s really not as bad as I’m making it sound!” Danny groaned into his hands. This was exactly why he hadn’t wanted to tell his friends; it was hard to put into words that didn’t make it sound sick.
Sam’s eyes narrowed, “Isn’t it? Danny, wanting to… eat the ghosts your fighting doesn’t sound bad to you?”
“Sounds like it’s just another mostly harmless ghost thing. I mean, you’re all made out of ectoplasm, right? So you need more ectoplasm to ‘live’? As established, other ghosts just happen to be a source of that.” Tucker suggested, trying to rationalize his hunger. “All ghosts have cannibalistic tendencies confirmed.” He joked, but Danny could (taste) see he was unnerved.
“But Danny doesn’t need to eat ectoplasm to live.” Sam said, before whirling on Danny, concern under her alarm, “You don’t do you?”
“…I don’t need to, no.” Danny surrendered. “It’s nice though. Not that I would eat a person for it. That’s not why I would want to at least. It’s not- it wouldn’t be for ectoplasm energy. It’s just- guys I swear, this isn’t a bad thing!”
“…You know those monster and animal ghosts have to eat you before. I just thought they were doing what they do, but this could be the reason. But I don’t think any of the ghosts that talk have ever tried that.” Tucker said, shaking off his unease at Danny’s prior words.
He was wrong. Technus had definitely tried to. And Lunch Lady. Box ghost made a pitiful attempt to every time he was alone. Even Spectra had made to, but she’d seemed almost repulsed.
“Probably because they wouldn’t eat another person!” Sam explained, as though it were obvious.
Danny thought they would. If they were feeling what he’d felt, they only wouldn’t eat him if he was too big.
And Danny wondered, what if there was a ghost big enough to try and eat him, and win?
(That should have been a more worrying thought than it was…)
What about the reverse; what about a ghost small enough that eating it wouldn’t be a challenge for him.
Not that he ever would.
oOo
Danny really hadn’t meant to do it.
He’d thought he’d had a pretty good handle on the whole urge to consume any ghost in front of him.
But just he’d been so tired. He hadn’t known the time exactly, just that it was dark, and he’d been operating on so little sleep even before he’d had to take care of the beastly looking ghost that had crawled out of a natural portal in the dead of the night.
And after shooting a quick text to his friends, telling them he’d come out of the fight in one piece, he’d come back to his room.
And glowing softly in center of his bed, was a blob ghost.
Danny had seen blob ghosts before—massive, shapeless, wailing things. But this one was different. It was like the round, ones he glimpsed crawling through the shadows of Skulker’s island, and slipping in and out of the walls of Pointdexter’s lair.
He’d never seen one on the side of the portal before.
Danny looked down at it, a bit suspicious. It appeared to be harmless, but it was also a ghost. One that had been in his room while he wasn’t there.
The thing tilted it’s head curiously as though inspecting him back. Well, not it’s head considering it didn’t really have one; the entire front part of his body shifted, it’s eye spots wide and empty.
Danny couldn’t help but find it cute. Still he raised the thermos and-
The blob ghost flopped over as though in submission, core thrumming a low pitch that made that ever present hunger Danny felt rise to the forefront.
Danny bit his tongue, stepping back a bit. What was it doing, did it want him to- to-
He couldn’t stop himself from lowering the thermos, from locking his eyes on the blob and practically prowling across the space between them.
What was he doing? The thought almost stopped him, but it was too fleeting. Too irrelevant in the face of the ghost’s dull glow.
Danny needed it. Need the strength it could give him, however small. He needed the knowledge. The completeness that would surely come with consuming it, making it an extension of himself.
It trilled as he got closer still, soft approval.
It was so tiny. So weak. It needed him. It needed to be bigger, to be part of him. That way he could protect it.
That thought ran through his obsession in all the right spots. Danny shivered as his human mind expressed the utmost repulsion. Danny licked his ectoplasm-green tongue over ghostly fangs.
Danny opened his mouth.
oOo
For the record, Danny had been going to tell his friends what had happened that night, what he’d done. Really he had been!
But then he’d thought of how exactly he would say that. How would he even broach the topic? Just drop in at lunch and go, ‘Oh hey guys! remember how I was obsessively considering cannibalizing my enemies. Well I tried it out and now I think I’m not gonna stop-‘?
Yeah, no.
He couldn’t stand the thought of how Sam might look at him. At how even Tucker had been unnerved at the idea of his unconventional appetite before he had given in to it. They’d put up with his his weird half-ghost things before, had stuck with him this long, but… this felt like a lot.
Danny didn’t want them to see him, the way his parents saw Phantom.
He knew he was being paranoid. Probably. Especially considering ‘eating’ definitely wasn’t the right word for what he’d done.
Danny distractedly watched the blob ghost loop through his legs amiably.
It had kind of just fazed back out of him in the morning. Or rather Danny had fazed it out of him.
He had taken hold of its body and suddenly extremely susceptible, suggestible mind and had just made it move.
He could let go, and the blob didn’t seem to mind when he did it… it seemed to enjoy it actually.
It was safe and taken care of. Danny could take care of it. It could help Danny, and Danny could help it. It was mutually beneficial and perfectly fine. Danny would tell his friends exactly how fine it was.
Eventually.
oOo
The thing is, the blob ghost could ask Danny for help in a roundabout way. It could need help and Danny would understand.
So when another ghost had been chasing it around dusk, and Danny had already been transformed from an earlier fight, he had swept in to save it.
And as Danny fought the ghost, an odd wolf like animal with snakes instead of a tail, the blob had gotten some very tempting urges. It had actively pushed its thoughts onto Danny. It had told him to eat, to expand his self. To be stronger so he could protect it, to make it so this other ghost wasn’t so mindless and wouldn’t do any more damage.
And Danny would have been able to ignore the hunger as he always did if it weren’t for the argument proposed, if there wasn’t another smaller mind assuring him, wanting him to take and never stop.
And Danny gave in.
oOo
Ghosts that look like monsters out of some mythology are hard to hide. Even with their forms shrunken slightly, even when Danny willed them invisible most of the time, someone was bound to realize there was a ghost lurking around Amity Park that he hadn’t gotten rid of.
Or well, ghosts.
Which brought Danny to his second issue. When a ghost had already ‘eaten’ other ghosts, and that ghost then too gets eaten, it turns out it makes a chain of command.
First was Danny. Then his blob and the wolf ghost. Then the wolf ghost’s ghosts. And then their blob ghosts.
The control Danny had over them wasn’t overwhelming. They were like limbs with their own minds; Danny could move them as he pleased, but they had their own independence and took comfort in this relationship.
They were much less noticeable that an entire extra arm though. More like a big toe. Toes with toes. Something he could move, and could always feel was there. He would notice if they were missing, but he didn’t always notice they were there.
That made sense. It made enough sense for him to be comfortable thinking about it like a human.
Danny was constantly aware of this order, but was also content to just let them roam with little interference. The odd nudge away from people here, turning one invisible there, using one to handle a smaller ghost fight while he’s in school.
It was useful. It was nice.
Sure it was strange to get used to have so many senses, and the range of emotions they were all feeling at any time was complicated to say the least.
His first blob was a lot more smug lately, about being so high in the order, about being so close to Danny, above ghosts many times stronger than it. Many of the others were content to laze around and explore the living world, bathing in the feeling of being protected. Others kept spooking humans for fun, and causing quiet mischief which was harmless enough that Danny didn’t often stop it.
Being so connected to them all made him feel complete. He couldn’t imagine anything more satisfying, satiating that this.
oOo
When Danny’s core had awoken he didn’t fly into the ghost zone blindly. It had been the impression of knowledge from one of the lowest ghosts in his order, a lizard like creature with a form the consistency of sand.
And then Danny had been taken to the Far Frozen. And he had met Frostbite.
Danny had never been exactly scared of what might happen if a ghost ‘ate’ him. He knew what it was to be at the top of an order, but despite feeling the comfort of his charges, he couldn’t imagine liking being in that position.
He’d have nothing to gain the way his ghosts did, minds going from stilted to simple but fast, aware. He’d just have his aim a massive amount of his autonomy stripped from him.
It made him feel bad about having taken his ghosts when he thought about it like that. Like a human would.
Then in Frostbite’s presence, he’d understood.
He’d known intimately in that moment, why his blob ghost had lured him closer in the hopes he would add it to himself. He felt every bit as small as it must have been in his presence.
Frostbite was bigger than he appeared, Danny could see that. He was letting shrunken yet he was still the largest yeti in the Far Frozen, and every member of that place was part of him.
Danny could only imagine the security they all felt under something so all-encompassing. He could feel Frostbite’s hunger, drawing him in, restrained if only because Danny was a hero to them.
It was a strange thing to want to be eaten.
Danny might have even asked. If it weren’t for his obsession and obligations, he might have forgotten humanity entirely and joined this wonderfully hidden, protected place.
But he had his haunt, his humans, his home to go back to. Then he did.
And despite how amazingly he’d been treated in the Far Frozen, despite how kind and affectionate the yeti’s were Danny stayed away. Because he didn’t know when he might not be able to pull himself away.

The Observants' Control
The Observants are more than mere observers. Of course that is the majority of their job. However, the Observants love to be in control. They need to make sure everything is the way they want it needs to be. Plus, the rush of power they get from that control. It's such a pleasant buzz. Not many beings can say they control an Ancient and a God. That rush is intoxicating. Although, Clockwork is the only one they can control at the moment. They are hopeful to control some more soon. The more powerful the Observants can become, the better everything will be for the rest of the Infinite Realms and beyond.
However, controlling an Ancient wasn’t and still isn't an easy task, especially one such as Clockwork. The Observants used Clockwork's past relationship with Pariah Dark as a threat against them. The Observants made sure to keep the threat vague, knowing Clockwork's own imagination will be far worse and keep them in line better than any direct threat they can make. A bit of ghostly magic helps as well. Although the Observants aren't very powerful or skilled, their numbers and that threat should keep Clockwork in line should their spell fail at any point.
Regardless of how it's done, the Observants have some way to sort of keep Clockwork in line with how they view the world and how the future should be. However, Phantom is making the Observants' lives very difficult. Especially after defeating Pariah Dark and having a claim to the throne of the Infinite Realms. And now because of that freak of nature halfa, Clockwork is slipping from their grasp. Because of Phantom, Clockwork is repairing their broken heart and moving on from Pariah Dark, finding love elsewhere and with a mortal no less. That does the Observants no good. This mortal, Alfred the Observants believes that's what Clockwork called him, most likely won't become a ghost at all which means the Observants won't be able to control Clockwork using the same methods. That is to say, if Clockwork hasn't made the human immortal already. That was well within Clockwork's powerset after all. In order for the Observants to regain their control over Clockwork, they gathered and captured Phantom, that abomination, and Alfred along with Pariah Dark, securely locked in his coffin of Eternal Sleep, and hidden them from view of Clockwork.
Hiding three people is almost impossible from Clockwork. However, there are a few ways to do so. The first method would be to erase them from existence. This doesn't do the Observants any good. They have no leverage that way. The second option is killing them. However, Clockwork would still be able to view their timeline and find out the truth. The last option would be to use ghostly magic. A specific spell will hide the intended target from the detection of any and every being. This will get Clockwork's attention and show them that the Observants aren't very pleased with them. So, the Observants went with option three. Plus, this way, the Observants will have enough time to think of a way to also control that disgrace of a ghost, Phantom.
It wasn't long before Clockwork came storming into their observatory, growling in anger, eyes glowing with untold rage, and exuding a dangerous, oppressive aura that threatened pain beyond imagination for those who wronged them. Clockwork realized their playthings were missing a lot quicker than the Observants would have liked. The Observants watch Clockwork in faux calmness, all secretly terrified of what might happen. It's fine though because they have the three beings that Clockwork cares most about from All’s creations. Clockwork zeros in and immediately flies over to the leader of all the Observants.
"Ah, Clockwork, nice o-'' the Observant is cut off when Clockwork doesn't stop their advance, but instead speeds up and slams the Observant into the nearest wall with Clockwork's fist balling up the front of his robe. With Clockwork's face so close to the Observant, he can see the tears of frustration rolling down Clockwork's cheeks and landing lightly on the Observant's robe.
Clockwork is not playing around. They had enough of the Observants' bullshit. It was fine when it was just Clockwork and their sleeping husband. However, when the Obserants took their child and boyfriend somewhere Clockwork couldn't see, not even All can protect the Observants from Clockwork’s vengeful wrath. Clockwork never claimed to be a merciful god. The Observants will receive a small taste of their wrath.
"You took them away from me. So now I will take something from you." Wisps of smoke escaped Clockwork's mouth as they angrily rasp their words mere inches away from the Observant's face. The heat of more than Clockwork's voice was making the Observant sweat.
"Wai-"
"You shall observe no more," the calm rumble of Clockwork’s voice makes the Observant sweat more in fear. They lift their right hand and delicately place their fingers around the Observant's enormous eye, fangs bared in threat.
It happens so quickly, and so painfully. Clockwork probably used their time manipulation ability to exact their revenge. The Observant screams in agony as blood splatters across Clockwork's fangs and the rest of their face.
It’s so dark. He can't see anything. For the first time in his existence, the Observant can't see anything. Unfortunately for the Observant, he can still hear everything. The terrified and pained screams from his fellow Observants. It’s brutal. The Observant leader's imagination is going wild with what Clockwork is doing to his fellow Observants. Whatever it is, it can't be good.
However, that isn't what concerns him the most. The Observant leader isn't foolish enough to think Clockwork will grant the Observants the mercy of properly healing themselves. He knew Clockwork will use their power to manipulate time in a way so that their eyes will regenerate incorrectly if at all, leaving them permanently blinded. The thought of seeing nothing, not even darkness, terrifies the Observants. Having their worst nightmares come true is so much worse than they ever thought it would be.
"Now, where are they?" The Observant leader yelps and pathetically jumps away in fear. The feeling of Clockwork’s stinging breath on the side of his face is a lot more terrifying now that he can’t see. Not being able to see is going to probably kill the Observants sooner rather than later.
If he is going to die anyways, he might as well make sure Clockwork is miserable for the rest of their eternity. How dare they have the audacity to defy the Observants. Clockwork is just an aid for them to use to observe the known. Clockwork is little more than a tool for the Observants. At least, that's what Clockwork was supposed to be. Clockwork deserves to suffer for what they have done to him and his fellow Observants.
"Somewhere you and your powers can never reach." The Observant laughs in defiance at Clockwork.
"I never thought the Observants would be foolish enough to take a chosen of Aether, let alone what is mine." The deep rumble of Clockwork's voice is a lot more petrifying when one isn't able to see anything.
"W-what do you mean? A chosen of A-Aether?" The leader's voice trembles in even more fear. How is that possible?
The deep, rumbling chuckle sent another shiver of fear running down the Observants' spines. "I am not the only Ancient or God to claim dominion over Phantom."
"What?" gasps the leader in surprise. "No..." the Observant's voice is barely above a whisper.
"Yes!" The Observant can hear the feral grin in Clockwork's voice. "That child, you Observants despise so much, is more powerful than you will ever know. And has the favor of those even far more powerful than him." Clockwork bellows with unhinged glee in their voice. With too much hatred and disgust in their voice, Clockwork continues. "I'll let you all suffer in your pitiful unseeing state. It's more mercy than any of you deserve." Clockwork sighs deeply with faux exhaustion. "However, I'd rather not have Phantom disappointed in me. I want to keep his favor. After all, my child will find his way back to me sooner or later. And I'm sure he'll bring the loves of my existence with him.” It sounds like Clockwork is talking to himself now.
With the small hope that Clockwork is distracting themself with imagining their future, the leader tries to crawl away. He needs a place to hide, heal, and recuperate. The other Observants are probably attempting to do the same thing right now. Probably not. The leader hears the pained moans and groans of his fellow Observants. Most of them probably can't even move.
"And where do you think you're going?" Seething rage is back in Clockwork's voice.
The leader stops dead in his tracks, shaking in fear. "P-please," his voice comes out as nothing more than a trembling whisper. "I need to rest and heal." The Observant becomes acutely aware of the sweat making his robes cling to his back and the big drops of blood leaking out of his eye socket.
"Fine," Clockwork says casually, it gives a small breath of relief to the leader.
Then suddenly the leader can feel that same smoke from earlier on his face again. The Observant barely notices that he isn't even touching the ground anymore as he is presumably lifted and leveled up to Clockwork's face. The tension comes back full force to the Observant.
"I'll make sure you heal." Smoke billows into the Observant's wounded eye socket making it sting and burn just that much more.
In the back of his mind the Observant wonders if that is regular smoke. Probably not. It’s probably some sort of toxic temporal residue. Not toxic to Clockwork, of course. Just toxic to anyone else. His nice little distractive musings didn't last long.
"However, the healing process will be painful." The leader can feel the hateful glee in Clockwork's aura as well as their voice. "And your scars will be so painful. Even a breeze will make you kneel in crippling pain."
If he was capable of it, the Observant leader would have probably died of fear at this point.
"That goes for all of you!" Clockwork addresses the rest of the Observants.
The room is filled with the terrified shrieks of his fellow Observants. However, they are drowned out by his own tormented screams as Clockwork begins. Clockwork takes their sweet, painfully slow time with each and every Observant. They all know Clockwork went deliberately and excruciatingly slow with this process just to draw out their revenge.
By the time Clockwork is done, an aura of contentment with an underlying flick of rage surrounds them. Clockwork leaves, covered in Observant blood and flesh, feeling satisfied with their work. They need to prepare for Danny's, Alfred's, and Pariah Dark's return. They should probably start with cleaning the bits of Observant off themself. And then preparing a meal with all the eyes they collected sounds delicious. Although, Clockwork will make sure to prepare something human for Alfred to enjoy as well. Clockwork is content in their domestic tasks as they wait for their loved ones to return to them. After all, everything's the way it’s supposed to be.

Hunger, Hunger (Is the Purest Sin)
Rating: M
Fandom: Danny Phantom
Warnings: Cannibalism (ghost hunger), insanity, slight ish body horror but pretty minor, dissociation kind of??
Word Count: 666 :)
A/N: the title is from White Foxes by Susanne Sundfør!! great song, personally I think it fits Danny pretty well from an angst standpoint (I have a DP angst playlist if that's something that interests you). give it a listen! do please read with caution keep yourselves safe!!
His hands were green.
Toxic, unnaturally inhumanly bright green.
It dripped in globs from his mouth and stained his lips and hands green.
Green, green, green.
Green consumed his vision, his thoughts, his control.
He brought his hands up to his mouth and gave each one slow licks from his long tongue. Now his mouth was stained green. Just like his lips, like his hands. Like his eyes, pupil-less, consumed by green, green, green.
He wanted more.
He wanted more.
Why did he want more?
His core felt like it was being yanked out of his chest towards the sluggishly bleeding anima in front of him. His core was yearning, it was begging. It wanted more, more, more.
Why do I want more?
The leg of the rabbit anima twitched and his sharp eyes zeroed in on the growing pool of green. A soft whine escaped the writhing specter and he felt hungry.
Why am I so hungry?
Drool began to leak from his mouth and he wiped it away with the back of his hand. Sweet, sweet green entered his mouth at the motion and an undeniable craving enveloped him. The green was smeared across his lips and mouth.
To him, green tasted barely resistable, ambrosial, compulsory, obsessive. It was just short of impossible to deny. It felt provocative. It felt seductive. Like it was the best thing in the world. Like it was all he needed to survive.
He wanted the hunger to stop.
He wanted it to never end.
It feels wrong. But it feels good.
The viscous pool of green on the pavement beckons him deeper. It's as though he was dunked in a harlequin sea. He was drowning in green, green, green but has no desire to swim.
The pool reaches the tip of his boots. Before he can register his movements, he's kneeling in the pool and laying his palms flat in the syrupy green. His long tongue emerges from his mouth and licks the remaining streaks of green from his face. Resounding desire wraps around his chest and pulls.
Swiping two of his fingers through the green, he watches intently as it dribbles down his hand. He brings the digits to his mouth, mindful of his sharp teeth and fangs. When did he get those?
GREEN bursts across his tongue and he is enveloped in ecstasy. He scoops more onto his fingers and shoves it into his mouth. Something nags at him to stop. He should stop.
He doesn't. He finds he doesn't want to.
Like a stranded man just given water, he drinks and drinks and drinks. Like an itch finally scratched, unspeakable pleasure veils him from clear thoughts. All he sees, thinks, wants, hears, tastes, feels is GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN.
The anima moans mournfully as its core weakens. Danny feels sick satisfaction as its form drips and melts away. The ever growing pool of treacly green creates a twisted sense of pride settling into his core. Like a predator who caught its first prey. The anima is almost entirely denatured and he grins a green grin, baring his pointed teeth. He uses both hands to scoop up the gooey liquid and pours it into his mouth. He can feel himself laughing, cackling as green drips out of his mouth and down his chin. He chokes as he chuckles, continuing to lick the green from his hands. Deeper and deeper, he falls.
His core thrums and buzzes in his chest. It's aching and it's urging; it all feels stronger than ever. It feels far from being satisfied. The desire drips over him like honey. It creeps over his skin and encompasses all thought. His core wants more, and so does he. He hiccups and gasps despite no need for air. He rests his hands around his throat and his tongue continues to hang out of his mouth. The precious, addictive taste lingers and the wide-eyed, wicked grin doesn't seem to falter. It displays his green-stained teeth.
The anima is gone and his gloves are no longer white.
In an instant, the green recedes and Phantom feels more dead than ever.

all the terrible terrible things that happened in DP but got glossed over because it's a cartoon show (aka the source of all the phandom's horror inspirations)
Dissection (mentioned several times. attempted by Maddie Masters although it was more of a threaten for answers kind of thing. also attempted by Vlad to determine why Dani lasted longer than other clones)
Brainwash (Plantwash by Undergrowth via invasive plant tentacles, Musicwash by Ember's music)
Possession (out of context of cartoon shows, if someone loses autonomy to an unknown someone else controlling their body, this would be terrifying. this happened on massive scale in this cartoon show several times and more frequently on smaller scale) (Freakshow's red orb staff fits here more than in the Brainwash section)
Spectra's quest for immortal youth (because this is a kid's show, instead of bathing in virgin's blood for immortal youth like Bathory, Spectra made do with binging on teenagers' emotions. depression isn't a joke but Spectra hands it out like candy)
Can it be gore if there's no red? all the ghosts that were implied to have been caught by the Fentons, the GIW, and Vlad for the purpose of experimentation to develop their ectoequipments (bonus: the melted Danny clones that were implied sentient and aware)
Dehumanization (all the ghost hunters did this to validate their actions. Vlad where did you draw your mental line between the melted Danny clones and the prime clone?)
the Mutant Food (the Fentons are lucky that those things haven't gained enough intelligence to take over their weapon stash yet. re: crab with a knife)
Cannibalism?? (this one is debatable since all the materials in ghost zone are made out of ectoplasm, are all ghosts the same species? where's the line drawn at?)
OSHA violations (let's see.. resulted in the creation of Vlad Plasmius, Danny Phantom, mutant food. possibly an on-going process of creating a haunted FentonWorks except Danny is already haunting FW.) (also ectoplasm glows. is it radioactive? highly mutagenic- see: mutant food. the Fentons claims their ectoweapons are safe but they're wearing hazmats, the people they sometimes accidentally shoot ectoplasmic goo at don't have hazmat protective suits) (do they have proper disposal protocols? or are they polluting Amity Park with highly mutagenic and likely radioactive ectoplasm?)
Technus' world domination (why wait for AI domination like skynet and the matrix when we have Technus)- this one is underutilized plot but Technus can become a high level threat without proper counter (reminder: he had access to nuclear weapons for a hot minute)
the Plasmius-Phantom merge into Dan/Dark Danny/Dark Phantom (they just merged grieving kid's soul with the soul of an old man obsessed with the kid's mom, is it any wonder that they didn't come out sane?)
Danny's repeated deaths (death by portal zap count: 2)
the time GIW tried to nuke Ghost Zone (and consequently, the Reality out of sheer ignorance)
The reblog with Vlad's list of crimes here

Fanfiction as a Learning Tool
Imagine if we were able to use fanfic as a learning tool. You could get people interested in topics they would otherwise hate (or think they'd hate) or you could inform people on topics that could effect the plot.
You wouldn't have to simplify it or water it down much because the reader is already interested. You could get people informed, and it's not like writers are strangers to research. There are literal memes about it.
Just to clarify, here's some examples:
DC X DP crossover: Bruce adopts Danny and thinks he's vaping (ghost sense) and gives him a lecture while Danny has to find a way to explain that he's never vaped in his life lmao
Undertale (Horrortale AU): Human falls into the Underground and had a hyperfixation/special interest in cannibalism. This allows them to remember the the Harris Benedict Equation, and other options for food (leather, bark, etc). You could get into misinformation about nutrition, the importance of rest in the human body, etc. Not to mention the psychological and sociological coping mechanisms that come with survival cannibalism.
Supernatural: You could teach the history of cryptozoology and ghost hunting
These are just some examples, but hopefully this is getting your gears turning. I genuinely think that this could help young people practice their media literacy skills, reading more, and staying informed.
Reading fanfic is actually a great tool when it comes to practicing reading, finding what you like, and learning new things.
I know we all meme on fanfic sometimes (My Immortal) but fanfiction could actually be used this way, and just because it's not a published work, doesn't mean it's not as good as books. Also, it being free to read fanfic means people from all walks of life can read it and learn. It could be very helpful to see how different people live.
I swear I've learned more about Romani culture from Romani people writing DC fanfic than I've ever learned in my whole life lol.
I wouldn't recommend it in schools (due to grey area legality and censorship), but I think it could be a new form of informal learning. What do ya'll think?

Your posts of Dark Dan eating human Danny and of vore kink in dp hit me with a thought that ghost cannibalism is not au it's canon. This is really creepy thing but it shows the best way how different Ghost Zone is. And it's cool!
IT IS. And now you've got me thinking about how Danny could have been digested/assimilated by Dark Dan.
Maybe that much exposure to pure ectoplasm acts like a kind of "digestion", or maybe there are some kind of atomic or subatomic interactions that happen between living tissue and ectoplasm that allow a ghost to break down human cells and turn them into energy. Perhaps it's not the most efficient form of energy; maybe ghosts prefer to eat their own or other non-living ecto-cells, but they can still eat humans.
Aside: Kind of like how humans can eat grass and leaves but it doesn't do us much good; we need specific plants that our stomachs can handle. So Dark Dan ate Danny out of pure maliciousness, not because he necessarily needed the energy.
Tumblr media
Aside 2: This brings to mind offspring that eat their mother after birth, which really fits with this whole TUE scenario.
Maybe Dark Dan had to go around eating other ghosts for the next ten years in order to get that big and muscular. He looked more like Danny to begin with, so perhaps that's another explanation. Ingest more power (ghosts), add more bulk.

Cursed DC x DP thought
TW: cannibalism
What if Gotham has so much ambient ectoplasm and so few/no ghosts bc Sentient!Gotham either passes the ghosts into the zone or eats them (extra cursed vers: she eats all of them).
Could be there's a mirror gotham city in GZ like in Change in Management (by voidwriting on AO3) or could just be that she tosses newformed ghosts in GZ to land where they may.
There's an eerie feel to the night air when Gotham stalks the streets looking for her ghostly prey.
Jason gets a pass bc he's not full ghost + he was Robin and still works as her protector as Red Hood (or perhaps it's only because he doesn't have a ghost form or has yet to transform).
Liminals are safe since they count as living beings, but half dead or more and you're potentially on the dinner menu, especially if you are in your ghost form.
As long as Danny remains in his human form, he's relatively safe, but shed that and he may come face to face with the shadowy monster that eats her own kind and he will have to either strike a bargain or fight her for his right to continue existing.

Editing to add (again): This is using the bastardized wendigo from popculture. It's not using the wendigo in the context of the spirit, more in the context of the Hannibal "Ravenstag" or even Antlers' wendigo. Check the Anon link near the end of the post for more information regarding my thoughts on the subject :) I didn't mention the deer-like qualities until the tags, which I understand some people don't fully read. That's my bad, so here I am with the full context ahead of time. This is not the Algonquian version of the wendigo spirit. i really want to write a DCxDP fic where Danny gets trapped in a different form (like either true form or just gets cursed, something like that) and can't get out of it. That form? A wendigo. Somehow he ends up in the DC universe - either through already living there or Ghost Zone shenanigans.
Being a wendigo, Danny feels the need to eat flesh. Preferably human, but even in his screwed-up state he knows that's wrong of him to do. So he takes to killing the bare minimum amount of wildlife he can to sustain himself. Eventually he realizes that "oh wait, what if I just raided a store?" So he stumbles out of the woods and into the nearest grocery store after they had closed. He ends up eating enough to settle his stomach before going off to hide to wait for this whatever to wear off.
However, this catches the attention of [insert local hero]. [Insert local hero] goes to the Justice League about this - maybe this creature is a new villain's scheme? Or just a new villain? Members of the JL + Justice League Dark then go out to [insert town Danny was spotted in] to do some investigating. Batman being one of these people, plus Robin because Damian would not let Bruce go without him. A wendigo could be like a shark after all, just a big ol' puppy.
They get to [insert town here] and start cracking down. They compare the old footage to the location, tracking where the wendigo went. Finally Batman, Robin and [insert characters here] are able to get to the wendigo's den... only to find out the wendigo is a lot more ghost-like than they thought it would be.
There's a big fight because Wendigo-Brain!Danny thought these random dudes were the GIW coming for his undead ass that ends with Danny taking off. Unknowingly to Danny, Damian has grabbed onto him and is basically riding his soon-to-be pet into the sunset.
... I just want to 1) see Danny suffer and being confused 2) Damian trying to get a new dangerous pet and 3) get Damian trying to tame a feral Wendigo!Danny like any normal person would try to befriend that feral orange cat living in the dumpster.
Adding this just to cover my own butt about this haha, here's a link that contains a post which covers the research I have done on the topic of the wendigo: Anon Ask Post Here. I am not trying to culturally appropriate, offend, or harm anyone with a prompt post about Danny taking the form of a wendigo. It's a cool concept to me as I believe it is a bit ironic. The wendigo, as seen in the culture it originates from, is a symbol of greed and a harsh winter and are often a sign of cannibalism. They have hearts of ice and an "unseasonable chill might precede its approach".
I think this is ironic because 1 - Danny is a sweet little bean and being stuck with cannibalistic cravings is a Hannibal Fic trope that will forever rot in my brain + Ghost King!Danny having to eat Pariah Dark's core is a headcanon I adore, 2 - the chill preceding a wendigo's approach reminds me of Danny's ghost sense, 3 - Danny is the LEAST greedy person I can think of in the entirety of DP (even if he does have his selfish moments at the worst times ever), and 4 - wendigos possess human beings. In Native legend a wendigo is a "malevolent spirit" which possesses humans - technically if you are going to stick with the general wendigo legends then it does not have antlers, horns, or is even a beast. It's just a giant human. Which, if using the correct/original version of a wendigo, makes this 10x funnier to me, because Damian that is clearly a giant person what the fUCK ARE YOU DOING--
Anyways, long story short if you have issues with me using a wendigo for a "haha funny" prompt please DM me with any sort of articles, legends, documentaries, ect. on why using a wendigo is a Bad Thing. Like I said in the linked post, I'm always willing to learn and adjust my behavior. I just want proof that the changes I'm going to make are the correct ones to be making, as my years on the internet have ALWAYS told me to fact check anything :)
