Not A Verstappen: Gridlocked {7}
Pairing: Charles Leclerc x fem!driver!reader x Lando Norris Summary: Your mother finally gets the truth out of you regarding Max. Warnings: 18+ only, swearing, angst WC: 2k F1 Masterlist NAV: Sibling Rivalry One || Two || Three NAV: Gridlocked One || Two || Three || Four || Five || Six || Seven || Eight
The double bed was definitely not made to accommodate three people, even if you were all spooning, so you found yourself sneaking out at sunrise. You hadn’t been able to sleep with the thoughts running through your head, wondering why Max couldn’t have been more like your mother. You weren’t worried about waking Lando as you climbed out from between them, since you didn’t have an air horn on you, but you were careful not to jostle Charles who was a much lighter sleeper.
After changing into a pair of leggings and a sports bra, you found your airpods and shoved the Aura ring back on your finger before taking a lap of the village. You quickly settled into a good pace, feeling the rhythmic slap of your trainers on the pavement and timing your breathing to match. It cleared your mind and gave you a focus on something other than everything else that was happening around you. For those precious minutes you didn’t think about Max.
So far you had managed to avoid talking about him with your mum, though that was mostly thanks to being blindsided by your relationship status - it had been enough to distract her for the rest of the day. You weren’t so sure that luck would last another 24 hours but you would certainly try.
Tumblr media
“Just leave her be, she’ll come in when she’s ready.” Your mother had been watching you all morning from her spot on the window seat, a cup of tea in hand. After Charles had woken up he had joined her and watched curiously, wondering why you were in the garden. “Avoiding me,” she said with a knowing smile. “It’s funny that the only times she would willingly do her chores were when she was trying to hide. It was a dead giveaway, but I never said anything. It was just nice to not have to ask her to do them.”
Charles chuckled as you battled to trim the agapanthus with a pair of rusted and blunt shears. “Should I offer to help?”
She wrinkled her nose and shook her head, checking the time on her watch. “She’s nearly done.”
Charles quirked an eyebrow as he looked at the progress that had barely started to make a dent in the long drive.
“Fuck,” you hissed as you the slimy residue that leaked from every cut leaf made your hand slippery and the shears fell from your grasp, narrowly missing your foot. You went to wipe a wayward hair that fell onto your nose but the sun caught the shimmer of slime and you jerked back with a groan, instead trying to blow it out of your face. You grew more irritated as the hair remained where it was tickling your nose and the urge to sneeze built up. “Fuck this shit.”
Abandoning the garden, you marched up the path and kicked your filthy shoes off before storming through the house.
“Good morning, sweetheart,” your mother greeted jovially. “Lovely day for a spot of gardening.”
“I’m calling Mr Newberry,” you grumbled on your way to the bathroom. “He can sort that mess out.”
You felt slightly calmer after washing away the slime and the chlorophyll that stained your fingers green and that feeling only grew when you found Charles waiting with a coffee made just how you liked it. “Busy morning?” he asked after handing over your elixir of life and taking his payment with a quick kiss.
“I’m just trying to help out,” you said with an innocent shrug. “I made a list of things that need fixing around here and if I don’t make the phone calls they will never get done.”
Charles tried to hide his amusement but when you narrowed your eyes at him he couldn’t stop the smile from breaking through. “Your mother knows you so well,” he laughed as he leaned in to whisper, “She knows you are avoiding her.”
“No, she doesn’t.”
“Yes, she does,” he assured you, running his hands along your sides before he kissed your forehead. “Just talk to her, amour.”
A shirtless and sleepy Lando stumbled his way into the room, rubbing his eyes and yawning as he made a beeline for the two of you. You placed your mug on the table before he reached you and let him fall into the middle of the embrace as his eyes fluttered shut again. He must have been burrowed under the blankets because the heat radiating off him was almost hotter than the blistering shower you had taken.
“Why are you awake?” he mumbled against your neck.
“Couldn’t sleep.”
“She’s being a coward and avoiding her mum.”
That made Lando battle his exhausted state and force his eyes to open as his forehead crinkled with a frown. “Why?”
“I’m not.”
“Because she wants to know why that person-we-can’t-mention-for-another-eight-days keeps calling her.”
“You can say his name,” you grumbled. “Max Verstappen, World Champion, Number One. Prodigal Son. Cunt.”
Your mother gasped as she entered the room with a fresh brew of tea. “I should wash your mouth out with soap, young lady.”
You winced at the reprimand. “Oops, turns out we can’t say his name.”
“This has gone on long enough, take a seat - family meeting,” she ordered as she pointed to the table. Lando and Charles took a step towards the door but your mum tutted. “You’re a part of this family now too, gentlemen.”
“Should I put a shirt on?” Lando asked as he looked down at himself. “Or shorts?”
“Please don’t.” “Please do.” You spoke at the same time as your mother, both of you sending each other slightly irritated looks.
“Two Spitfires, Char, there’s two now,” he whispered under his breath as he went to get dressed. He obviously had been in a rush and blindly pulled clothes out because the tense atmosphere wasn’t enough to stop Charles from grinning at the sight of Lando in his Ferrari shirt.
Seated at one end of the table, you faced your mother while your poor boyfriends were the buffer between. Lacing her fingers together, she stared back at you and made that heavy sigh that every parent could which immediately induced waves of guilt. You didn’t even have anything to be guilty over, but it happened anyway.
“What happened with Max?”
You crossed your arms at the direct question. “This is why I don’t bring people home.”
“What happened with Max?”
“Nothing.” You dropped your head to the table with a thud as her penetrating stare became too much to look at.
“What happened with Max?”
“Fucksake,” you groaned as her persistence won over your impatience. “He called you a whore…well technically he called me one too, but it doesn’t matter. He disrespected you, mum, so instead of calling you what he can do is he can take his phone and go fuck himself with it.”
Lando covered his mouth as a quiet squeak slipped out behind his apologetic smile and you reached out with your foot, running it up and down his leg. You felt bad for subjecting him to this drama when he was as introverted as they come - not that anyone would guess after seeing him on tv. Charles seemed to just take everything on the chin and not a lot fazed him at all, but like you he was reaching out to soothe Lando under the table too.
“I shouldn’t have come, I’m sorry,” you said as you started to push your chair out.
“Wait, please,” your mum asked quietly as her face softened. “He shouldn’t have said that, sweetheart, and I’m sorry that he did. I’m assuming it was after he found out about the three of you?”
You all nodded sullenly and she sighed. “It’s a shock, that’s no excuse, but it was a big shock. Maybe you should talk to him? It’s been a few days, he’s had time to think and reflect. You might be surprised.”
“Have you ever heard Max apologise?” you asked Lando and Charles. Both of their eyebrows furrowed in thought before they shook their heads. “See, Max doesn’t apologise, and I have no interest in hearing anything else from him.”
“As long as you’re doing it for yourself, honey, and not on my behalf. I have been called every name under the sun, but it's water off a duck's back. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to repair the relationship for some vindication for me. He’s your brother and you have missed so much of each other’s life already.” Your mother sighed again as she saw you had heard her words but they hadn’t broken the wall you had built. “Just think about it.”
She rose from the table, walking around it to rest her hand on your shoulder. “Just think about it,” she repeated before she left the room as you sagged in your chair like a puppet whose string had been cut.
Your phone vibrated in your pocket and you pulled it out to see your reflection broken on the screen. It still hadn’t been repaired from the last argument you had with Max when you accidentally cracked it. Perhaps it was a good reminder to keep.
Unlocking the device, you saw the notification from family share - alerting you that your location services were in use.
“Fucking cunt,” you groaned before hearing your name from the other end of the house. “Sorry! Can I call him a prick?”
Lando laughed and this time Charles joined in as your mother ranted to herself about your language. You couldn’t help that you grew up around mechanics and drivers, they were the most foul mouthed bunch of people.
Reaching across, Charles took a look at your phone before updating Lando. “He tracked her.”
“What do you want to do?”
Five minutes ago you would have ditched the phone and packed the car. Five minutes ago you might have threatened harassment. Five minutes of talking with your mother changed everything.
“I don’t know,” you admitted as you dropped your head in your hands until they were pulled away. You could wear a blindfold and still know exactly who was holding your hand, recognising their touch and feel with the familiarity of intimacy. “What do you think I should do?”
“I’m not ready to forgive him for how he spoke to you, amour,” Charles shrugged. “If he was my brother, I honestly don’t know if that would change anything.”
“I’ll follow your lead, baby,” Lando said as he lifted your hand to his lips. “Whatever you decide. What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking you look really good in that shirt,” you said as you looked at Charles for confirmation, his smirk evident. “Really, really good.”
“I always look good. Stay focused.”
“I am focused. I am going to call the gardener, and someone to fix that bloody pavement. Then, maybe, I’ll think about what to do next, it’s not like he’s going to be knocking down the door right this minute.”
Both of them turned to the door expecting to hear it knock and you rolled your eyes. “He’s not the bogeyman. He just likes to think he is.”
You took your phone back and opened the family share app, selecting Max’s phone and watched as it zeroed in on the pin drop. “Shit,” you sighed as the blue dot moved along the street. Leaning back in the chair, you craned your neck to see out the window and caught sight of an Audi SUV pulling in the driveway. “I take that back. Can we run?”

I want to hear about your favorite moments in TCF.
I have a long list, but I'll start with one that I don't hear people talk about much - Cale's conversation with Lock and Raon the night before the battle at the gorge.
First, I absolutely love how Cale handled Lock here. Lock is feeling like a failure, guilty, a coward - a whole bunch of negative things because he's no longer able to use his berserk transformation, and he thinks it's because he's afraid.
Cale - acts normal. It's hard to describe what that means, or why it matters. He just doesn't make a big deal out of it. Not like he's dismissing Lock's fears, but also not like he thinks Lock needs to be reassured.
This is right after Lock told Cale he couldn't go berserk. Rosalyn is also there, and the 'she' it starts with.
She heard a quiet voice at that moment. Pat. “Why is a young boy like you so skinny?” Rosalyn could see Cale pat Lock on the back before heading toward the tent entrance. Cale opened up the flap in order to exit as he looked toward Lock. “Let’s go.”
Cale just... Doesn't respond to the fear, but does show care and concern. And just treats Lock like normal (except in this case that's not really normal).
He then basically gets Lock to focus on the here and now, so Lock won't go into that headspace where he keeps feeling like he's a failure. He's preventing Lock from spiraling as he keeps thinking about what a failure he is.
Cale started to speak as soon as the young boy stopped right in front of him. “Focus on my back. Follow behind me and don’t think about anything else.”
And then he invites Lock to dinner. Just Lock, Raon, and Cale. Cale lets Lock talk, and then said something I absolutely love:
Lock’s mumblings stopped as soon as Cale asked a question. “Would you throw me away if I was weak?” “What-” Something like that was unbelievable. Lock throw Cale away? Lock’s eyes opened wide in shock as Cale smiled back at him. “Lock, you wouldn’t, right?” Cale picked his fork back up. “So, don’t ask something so obvious. Just eat.”
I love my progression fantasy, but the protagonists in those stories almost always have the same solution for every problem - get stronger.
To hear the protagonist say something like this is just so refreshing. Like - your worth is not tied up with being strong. You are a worthwhile person even if you can't destroy a wall with one punch. You wouldn't throw away someone else just because they were weak, so why are you being so hard on yourself?
And Raon hearing this leads into the final part, the conversation they have as they prepare for bed.
“By the way, human.” “What is it?” Cale made eye contact with the six-years-old Dragon who stopped connecting the device and looked toward him. Raon looked at Cale and asked. “I cannot go through my first growth phase. Is that okay?” ...
“Didn’t I answer that last time? Don’t ask me something so obvious.” “…Is it okay if I am weak?”
...
“Raon, although I am weaker than you, I’ve lived at least thirty, no, fifteen years more than you. But I am still weaker than you. I am not even as strong as you front paw. Is that a problem?” Cale realized his mistake and quickly changed the years before looking at Raon. “It is not a problem at all.”
There's more, but I've already copied enough so if you want to read the rest you should just go check that chapter out.
The thing here is that Raon, who was supposed to go through his first growth phase, couldn't. It now looks like he was afraid of how weak and vulnerable he would be during that.
And Cale, dense though he can be, perfectly reassures Raon.
Now if only that lovely, dense and yet wise man could treat himself with a fraction of the consideration he shows everyone else.

all's well that ends well
Maria Hill x Reader
Word count: 1.8k
Summary: A couple of months after being rejected by Maria, R gets hurt during the Battle of Sokovia and it brings them back together. Pretty angsty with some fluff at the end and plenty of best friend Nat.
Based on this request from a while back but I decided to finish it up. I would love to write for Maria more so if you have any ideas please send them my way <3
Tumblr media
“I’m so sorry.”
Maria’s words repeated in your head every day since you bore your heart out to her.
The worst part was probably that she had never told you if she reciprocated your feelings. She’d just insisted it wouldn’t work out; it wasn’t worthwhile. You couldn’t believe what you saw between the two of you was imagined. It couldn’t have been.
You saw her through the glass door of one of many conference rooms, sitting outside, waiting to speak to Fury while you were in your meeting with him.
You should have been happy. You had just been promoted and were going to be an Avenger, yet all you could think about was a girl who didn’t care about you enough to be honest with you.
You did your best to block Maria out of your mind for the remainder of the meeting, attempting to soak up the moment. This was the kind of thing you’d been working towards since you started at SHIELD Academy.
You needed this. You needed a win. Having such a huge distraction would be great for you, and the opportunity to learn from a legend such as Natasha Romanoff was incredible.
You moved your belongings into the Avengers Tower during the following week. Your bedroom was right next to Natasha’s.
Per Fury’s request, Natasha trained you multiple times a week and reported back to him on your progress.
The more time you spent training with her, the better you got to know her.
Before you knew it, Natasha had become your closest friend. After feeling crushed about Maria, she was exactly what you needed in your life - someone unwavering.
Natasha knew what it was like to be alone. You did too. Maybe that was why the two of you clicked so well.
She was also very excited to have another woman in the tower. Before you it was her and the rest of the boys.
You spent most of your free time with her. She helped you heal your heart.
With some time, you no longer felt your stomach churn every time you saw Maria at work.
You were starting to feel okay.
-
You knew Natasha and Maria were friends, but it wasn’t something you really ever thought about.
You were reminded of the fact when they hugged to greet each other at Tony’s party a couple nights after you helped the Avengers obtain Loki’s scepter from Strucker.
You stood awkwardly behind Natasha until the redhead moved on to greet another one of your colleagues and Maria’s eyes landed on you.
Anxiety bubbled up in your chest as you gave her a polite smile and a loose hug.
“Maria,” you nodded.
“Hi,” she smiled, though it didn’t nearly reach her eyes the way it used to when she spoke to you. “I haven’t really gotten a chance to congratulate you since you got promoted.”
You didn’t expect a conversation.
“You’re looking good out there.”
You could feel your cheeks turning red, “Thank you.”
There was so much you wanted to say to her. You held your tongue, though, you would only hurt yourself.
Before either of you had a chance to say anything more, Natasha returned and began to speak to the brunette. You tuned out their conversation quickly as the only thing you could think about was how terribly you missed everything about Maria.
After a minute, you excused yourself to the bar, promptly ordering two shots and throwing them back.
You were soon joined by Tony and Thor who you ordered drinks with to celebrate your victory. When Steve joined the three of you, you took another shot with him. It was not long before you became a little too tipsy for a work party faster than you’d realized what you’d done.
Upon noticing you hadn’t seen Natasha since you arrived at the party together, you scanned the room for red hair.
You found her sitting on a chair, listening to a conversation between a couple of people, and clumsily sat yourself on her lap, eliciting a laugh from her.
“Someone’s been busy,” she said with a smirk that turned into a smile.
“Oh yeah, I can’t say no to an open bar.”
“Obviously,” she teased and you saw a glint in her eye that made your heart pick up. “You seeing anyone lately?”
You rolled your eyes with a knowing smile, “Prying while I’m drunk, Nat? I didn’t think that was your style.”
“That’s not a no,” she pressed on.
“You’re very nosy. But no, I haven’t even thought of that since… since I joined.” You thought back to what Maria told you. “Besides, I don’t need a distraction or anything.”
“I dunno,” Natasha shrugged. “doesn’t hurt to have some fun- and seeing someone doesn’t mean you have a distraction in your life. There’s a person behind the big, strong, Avenger everyone sees. Being human doesn’t make you weak.”
Your eyes flitted to Maria who was across the room, engaged in a conversation with Steve, and you rolled your eyes in annoyance, “You should tell that to her.”
Natasha’s face crinkled in confusion and she followed your line of sight, her eyes widening as she turned back to face you, “What is that supposed to mean?”
You groaned and had to stop yourself from facepalming, drinking made you loose lipped, “I’ll tell you about it sober, we’re not getting into this now.”
-
The last thing you thought you would have to do that night was fight sentient fucking robots while intoxicated. You thought you had been holding your own well enough but got knocked to the floor when a bogie hit you in the head.
Your ears rang loudly and you’d been sure the stupid piece of metal was about to kill you as you held your head in agony until you heard gunshots and it never came.
You had Maria to thank for that.
-
The next time you found yourself being thrown to the ground by a bogie was in Sokovia. You weren’t so lucky this time, you landed on a sharp piece of metal that lodged itself in your abdomen as your chin slammed into the concrete ground.
You cried out in pain as you tried to get your bearings, knowing that if you didn’t act quickly you would die.
Searing pain coursed through your entire body as you reached to unstrap your gun from your thigh. Hot tears ran down your cheeks and mixed with dirt and the fresh blood on your chin.
You shot the hunk of metal until it collapsed on the floor. You were grateful the lifeboats were taking people from the floating island to the helicarrier every couple of minutes and hobbled over as quickly as your body could go in this state.
Every breath and step you took was excruciating. The only thing you could think about was how badly you wanted to survive.
The moment Steve laid his eyes on you, he gestured to Natasha and ran over, picking you off your feet and carrying you the rest of the distance. You let out a sob of relief when you no longer had to rely on your feet carrying you the rest of the way, not knowing how much further you would have been able to make it.
You heard him speaking over comms and vaguely caught Natasha’s response, telling him to take you onto the helicarrier for medical attention while she continued to direct people onto lifeboats.
“You’re going to be alright, okay?” Steve murmured, and you couldn’t tell if he even believed himself.
Nonetheless, you nodded into his neck and let your eyes close.
-
You woke up in a bed with an IV attached to you. You were grateful that the lights were mostly turned off, besides a lamp in the room, keeping your eyes from hurting too much.
Your whole body ached, your stomach especially, and you groaned restlessly.
Natasha was sitting in a chair to your right reading a book and Maria was beside her, her eyes closed. When Natasha heard you, her head snapped up from her book and she let out a sigh of relief, taking your hand. “Hey, you’re okay.”
She offered you some water and gave you medication that was left for you in case you woke up, “This should make you feel better, you’ll probably be a little drowsy soon but the pain should go away.”
“Thank you, ‘Tasha,” you smiled gratefully as best you could.
“You scared me, you know - all of us, really,” She said, her voice a little shaky. “I’m glad you’re alright.”
“Me too,” you chuckled.
Natasha smiled softly and cleared her throat, “I’ll come check on you again soon but I know Maria wants to talk to you.”
She nudged the brunette awake gently, nodding in your direction, “Hey, she just woke up a couple minutes ago.”
Maria muttered a ‘thank you’ to Natasha for waking her up and moved to her previously occupied seat when she left.
“You feel okay?” she asked when the two of you alone, and you figured she was avoiding whatever it was she actually wanted to say.
“No, I was impaled, I feel like shit… Why are you here?”
Maria’s eyebrows raised for a second, caught off guard by how blunt you were being, and took a breath, “I wanted to apologize.”
“For?”
“When I rejected you. I -”
“That’s not necessary, Maria, I really don’t want to rehash this.”
She shook her head and clenched her jaw, “Please. I - I was wrong.”
You quirked a brow. That was new. It wasn’t every day Maria Hill was wrong about something. And it definitely wasn’t every day Maria Hill looked like she was about to cry.
Maria took your silence as permission to continue, “I’m in love with you. And I’m sorry you had to almost die for me to admit it. I was so afraid to let myself love you because I was terrified knowing that something like this could happen to you. But when I got the call I realized that I could die never knowing what it’s like to kiss you.” Her voice broke as she finished her sentence. She let out a breath to steady herself as a tear streaked down her face.
You reached out your hand to the edge of the bed, palm up. Maria put her hand on top of yours and you squeezed lightly.
Her breath hitched and tears welled in your eyes while you watched her lips turn downwards as she tried not to cry. “I’m so sorry,” Those words sounded different this time.
Your heart ached for her. You nodded, understanding. “I know… it’s okay.”
She swallowed and wiped her tears, taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry.”
You shook your head, a soft smile playing on your lips, “Why don’t you find out what it’s like to kiss me already, hm?”

Obsessed with BG3 and I just discovered your wonderful blog! If you’re down, could you please do headcanons for what a date night would look like for Wyll, Astarion, Karlach, and Laezal (I can’t spell her name from memory im sorry 😭)
Aww, you are just so cute! I will try my best, because oh boy, I don't like Lae'zel :D
Tumblr media
Astarion
As a very morally grey character Astarion calls a lot of things fun.
He would start a bit more lightly, going out with you to eat something fancy. He will do his usual act, all smirk and suggestive comments until you were laughing, bantering and flirting with each other.
But that doesn't statisfy Astarion. He wants to be unique, because he is unique.
And he begins to lead you through the streets, with one destination in mind - a party for noble people, invites only. But when did this part ever stopped Astarion?
With his silver tongue, a roguish smile and a wink directed at you, he would charm the guards and soon you two could enter.
Absolutely out of place, you were sticking out like a sore thumb.
Soon enough some people were approaching you but Astarion quickly vanished out of sight as he noticed it, leaving you to deal with the mess while he watched in the shadows, observing how you handled it.
If you handled it well, Astarion would appear, lightly groveling and charming you because he now knew that you were capable and intersting enough to keep company with.
If you didn't handle it well? Well, Astarion would watch with a chuckle how the guards took you with them.
Tumblr media
Wyll
Maybe you should rather go out with Wyll because he is a true charmer.
Wyll would be half an hour too early, after he prepared everything of course. He would even have some nicely picked flowers there for you, all of them searched and picked by him.
As soon as you would approach, he would give you the flowers, kissing lightly your hand and then blindfolding you to lead you to a beautiful meadow.
A picnic in the dark, in a magical place and with candels everywhere? Exactly. Wyll would lead you to the fluffy blanket, giving you a glass full of wine and gently offering you some fruity sweets.
You two were talking for hours, shoulders lightly brushing against each other, fingers sometimes grazing while reaching for the same thing.
And as the night progressed, Wyll would slowly inch in your direction, so sublte you wouldn't notice it at first.
His body warmth would keep you from getting cool while you two were sitting there the whole night until the first sun beams tickled your nose.
Tumblr media
Karlach
A date with Karlach would begin with going to a party.
She loves alcohol and the good mood a party brings.
With good movements she would tease you until you finally joined her on the dance floor and you two wouldn't stop until your feet were hurting so much you couldn't stand up anymore.
Before you would be able to react, she would pull you on her lap or sit down on your lap, whichever you more prefer. Either way, she would lightly massage your shoulders, enjoying the feel of being able to touch you.
After some time you two would leave. Karlach would lead you to a nice, cozy inn, renting a room for you but don't worry, nothing would happen if you were too drunk.
Instead Karlach would rather wrap her arms around you, tugging you close to her while she slowly drew lines with her fingers. She would ask a lot of questions, maybe even a kiss or two would happen but if it did, it would lead to a full blown makeout scene.
Tumblr media
Lae'zel
Lae'zel would never call it a date, since Githyanki are very forward and no nonsense. She would rather call it, that you two were preparing for another battle.
She would traing with you, attacking you fiercely and without hesitation. If you are able to keep up with her, she would approve more and more until Lae'zel would straight up kiss you and ask to sleep together.
There would not be much romance but if you did good in any way on any topic, she would appear every so often and request a strict training with you which would lead to sex.
Caring is not really in her nature but sometimes she shows some rare kinds of caring when she wraps a wound of you.
Nevertheless, her missions and her race is the most important thing for her and will always have her priority.

Euphoria(Virgin!Vegeta x Saiyan!Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
warnings: smut, virginity loss, Planet Vegeta AU, unprotected sex, vaginal fingering, creampie pairings: Vegeta x Saiyan!Fem!Reader word count: 1.4k a/n: I'm tagging @carnal-lnstinct, @dreadsuitsamus and @beneathstarryskies. This is my little fic for the idea of Virgin!Vegeta, and I'm so excited to see what you all come up with!!
Tumblr media
Vegeta is no stranger when it comes to battle or being a warrior. He’s pretty sure he has the prince thing down well too. But when it comes to romance, he’s completely clueless. He knows that it’s something he’ll have to experience sooner or later, but he doesn’t know what to do. He has no idea how to initiate it, nor does he know how to finesse a comfortable conversation like that to begin anything.
What makes things worse is when he meets you. You’re a sweet Saiyan, which flusters him even more. Most of the Saiyans are crude, and thoughtless. They don’t always think nor do they usually consider others feelings. But you do and this makes him weak in the knees. Vegeta wonders if something is wrong with him the first time he sees you. He shouldn’t be falling in love with such a soft-natured Saiyan. He should love a strong Saiyan.
Better yet, he should find a strong wife. Someone who can give him an heir and lots of offspring. The kind of children that are very strong and will go into battle without a second thought. A queen fit to be right by his side on the throne. Instead, he finds himself falling for you everytime he sees you.
Tumblr media
It’s not long before he begins courting you. It’s a lot of romantic things. Flowers, dates at fancy restaurants, walks on the beach…the typical things. But as things get a little more heated, Vegeta soon realizes he’s completely out of his league. He’s not really sure what to do with his fumbling hands. When it comes to sparring and battling, he’s a natural. But when it comes to love and romance, he’s so clueless.
The first time you invite him back to your place after a date, it ends pretty quickly. You try to kiss him, but only get a bit of a cold shoulder. Then as time goes on, you invite him back every time. And as time progresses, you slowly begin teaching him things.
As the two of you begin making out on your couch, you start to feel his soft tail rubbing up against yours. It makes you purr with delight. So you suggest bringing this into the bedroom, and this makes Vegeta freeze up. Surely, you’re going to know that he’s completely inexperienced. Then, Vegeta looks into your eyes and he sees all the love and gentle affection you have for him. You squeeze his hands gently before kissing his cheek.
“Listen to me, my prince…” you begin. “There is no shame with it being your first time. It’s mine too.”
He gasps softly, “b-but I thought—”
You giggle and reassure him that it’s fine. You wouldn’t want your first time to be with anyone but him. You’ve been in love with the prince for what seems like an eternity. And when he began showing feelings mutual to your own, you were over the moon. You weren’t about to end it all because he’s a virgin. It just meant that this was all going to be even more special than you previously thought.
Vegeta is quick to lead you into your bedroom. He pushes you onto the bed, a new found eagerness spreading inside of him like an unfamiliar warmth. You look up at him with such lust-filled eyes, and it makes his cock so hard. He’s still fumbling, but he knows that he doesn’t need to rush anymore and he doesn’t need to worry about you judging him.
Once he has you completely nude, his eyes nearly bulge out of his head. You’re more beautiful than words can even describe. He’s never seen someone so beautiful. And you were completely giving yourself to him.
As he explores your body with shaking hands, you guide him to your more erogenous zones. You teach him exactly how you like to be touched, and you say the words you enjoy hearing. Though you’ve never done this before, you’ve fantasized about it in your head a million and one times. You know your own body, and you’ve touched yourself before. Vegeta turns out to be a very good student.
“So good,” you breathe as he rubs your clit slowly. His hands are calloused, but it’s not an unwelcome touch.
Vegeta watches your every reaction, making sure he’s not hurting you. The last thing he wants is for you to feel pain. He knows that when he enters you, you might feel pain then. But he’ll do everything in his power to make sure you don’t. This is why he’s so focused on making you cum. He lets his other hand settle between your thighs, and his fingers prod your tight hole. You’re already dripping wet.
“Y-you can put it in,”
He looks up at you, red in the cheeks. But he nods at your request and slowly, he slips his index finger into you. You both moan as he does this. It’s such a nice stretch for you, and Vegeta realizes just how tight you are. There’s no way he’s going to last very long. But that’s besides the point.
“Does it feel good?” He asks as he begins pumping the digit in and out of you.
You blush, “y-yeah, ‘feels so good.”
He smirks as he regains some of his confidence. He knows you’re going to cum soon, and that’s what he wants. This makes him feel so much better about his inexperience. You were able to help him through both of your first times, and he’s able to learn how to become an even better lover as time goes on.
The coil in your stomach snaps, and you cry out his name. Jolts of white hot pleasure course through you, making you pant and whine at every euphoric sensation. Vegeta watches you come undone so beautifully underneath him. Soon, he’s growing impatient. He pulls his finger from you and spreads your thighs.
With a wild lust in his eyes, he pulls his cock out and rubs it against your soaked folds. You whine at the overstimulation, but it just makes you leak even more of your sweet nectar. Vegeta knows that the next time he’s going to be intimate with you, he’s going to have to taste you. For right now, he needs to be inside of you.
With pounding hearts and bated breath, the two of you relish in the sensation of having his hard cock slipping between your folds. Then the head prods your hole, and you gasp. Slowly and steadily, he begins pushing into you. Vegeta begins letting out curses as your virgin walls are just sucking him deeper into you. As soon as he’s halfway through, he feels some resistance.
“W-wait, ‘Geta.” You whine and he looks down at you. You’re so pitiful like this, but he’s sure he looks quite pathetic in this state as well.
“What is it?” He asks, panting at the sensations of your walls clamping down on him.
“Hurts. Please, ‘Geta, take it slow.”
He nods, his brain slowly turning to mush and not knowing how to form proper words. He begins to thrust very slowly and shallowly, allowing you both time to adjust to these new feelings. It’s so overwhelming in so many ways.
It’s not long before his cock keeps opening you up. Vegeta already feels so close, but he’s determined to last a little longer. It doesn’t help that your walls keep squeezing him so tightly. It makes him grunt as he knows he’s so pathetically on the edge.
“R-relax for me, okay?” He asks, and you nod your head.
“Okay, I’ll try.”
You take a shaky breath and the two of you just relax for a moment. You share sloppy yet passionate kisses. Everything feels so loving, and it is so alien for Vegeta to feel something so soft. But it’s the most heavenly thing he’s ever had in his life. He never wants this moment to end. He leans his forehead to yours and he smiles a genuine smile.
“I love you,” he whispers against your lips.
“Oh…I love you too, ‘Geta.”
And soon, he’s bottomed out inside of you. But it’s the end for him. Your silky walls are milking him for all he’s worth, and he never thought being so deep inside of you would feel so good like this. A grunt slips from his lips as his balls tighten, and you let out such a sweet moan. A few more thrusts, and he’s crying out.
Spurts of hot cum begin filling up your cunt, making it so messy and warm deep inside of you. And despite that being the most amazing orgasm Vegeta has ever had, he remains hard. Which only makes it easier for him to continue thrusting into you well past his orgasm.
“Hmph, you didn’t really think I was done with you, did you?”

Note
I just wanted to say your posts single-handedly made me like Sho and I made a new account with him as my starter.
I'm still not through with ch2 on my first account (why are the battles so hard I only have 2 SRs to help me and rainbow apples are so limited T-T) so at that point I'd only seen Sho ignore mc and remember getting a short campus event where he literally goes "Oh it's just you, what do you want" or something along those lines so I thought he'd be just as bad as Leo lol. And ngl his design wasn't one of my favorites? But I'm the type who quickly grows on whoever I decide to like so now I love him and his silly bandana and the fact he literally wheels around with Bonnie in fights lol.
I'm especially curious about the Like Dove thing and how it works, initially I thought it was a conscious decision to send (like how Kaito assumed the gossiping girls sent it over for him/Luca) but I sincerely doubt anyone in Vagastrom was popular enough to get one (just bc they're scary) so why did it show up in front of mc and Sho when they barely had talked at that point??? Did he already like her or is it more like a "koi no yokan" thing?? I'm so curious about it. Does it show up in ch3 too? I don't see much mention of it.
Anyways, thank you for your Sho drabbles I love reading them sm!! Honestly I wish someone would upload the whole story somewhere so I can play the game at my own pace bc rn I'm just ITCHING to dump resources and try to get ahead (unsuccessfully)
;-; I am so sorry I made you start another account annon. I send love towards your rolls and ward you against the urge to spend money.
I also thought Sho was going to be just as bad as Leo and didn't like his design. The more he actually talked to MC and just in general the more that changed. He's not that bad of a guy at the end of the day, just loyal to a fault. I even like his little bandanna now, it's cute.
From the way Kaito describes the like dove I personally took it to mean that it was attracted to strong positive feelings towards someone. It can't exactly be sent somewhere because it is a sentient anomalous and independent animal. There are a few explanations for how the writers determine when it shows up, so I'll just work through my thoughts here.
The boring answer: stealing this one from someone on reddit, but the Like Dove shows up when MC starts making progress on getting close to the ghouls in the dorm. It shows up in Chapter 21 of Book 2 because Leo uses MC's enhancement and Sho feels sorry for her. I don't like this answer as much because it does not exactly explain why the Like Dove does not show up until the end of Book 3, as at least 2/3 of Jabberwock's ghouls like her pretty much from the start.
Still boring but slightly more fun answer: the like dove shows up when MC starts to have or accepts having positive feelings towards the ghouls around her. It appears in Chapter 21 and at the end of Book 3 because MC feels like she's really starting to help their dorms. This does not exactly work with Kaito's explanation that the dove comes to you when someone has positive feelings towards you.
"Yuri is doing lines of cope again" crack answer: I think describing it as a "koi no yokan" type thing probably makes the most sense. Kaito certainly seems to think of it as indicating romantic feelings, but he's a bit of a hopeless romantic so I'll take him with a pinch of salt. The Dove in Book 2 specifically appears after 1) Sho sees Leo and MC sitting on the couch together and asks if they're a thing and 2) MC asks about Sho's cooking. I don't think Sho ever really thought negatively of MC, he doesn't seem to have thought much about her at all. He describes Luca and MC as "normies" who he doesn't think Leo should waste time on, so no real hatred just indifference. Indifference that changes to reluctant fondness that same night when Leo forces him to stay behind by lying and MC compliments his cooking. So yeah, it shows up when someone has a sense that they could have strong positive feelings towards her. You could also say that it came due to the positive feelings Leo had about the ring helping him spy on Tohma and Alan, but I prefer to think it was from Sho. Because fuck Leo.
As you might have gathered the dove does show up again in Book 3, I forget the exact chapter but it's around when Haru promises to help MC with her curse. It's also the only dove that has showed up with all members of a house present, which is one of the reasons I like Jabberwock so much, best house fr fr. I will keep my eye out for it in Book 4 and keep you all updated, if you like my anon friend I'll try to make a summary post of the story so you can know what's going on while you try to convince the game to let you through. I am rooting for you!

Terrible Fic Ideas #57: PJO x Accidental Warlord AU
The other day I stumbled across a crossover that I never would have imagined but so far works exceptionally well: Friend of Humanity by Bluestone_Dragon, which sends a post-BoO Percy Jackson into the world of inexplicific's Accidental Warlord Witcher AU. And so, naturally, I tried to come up with my own take on the concept.
Just imagine it:
PJO and HOO follow canon until we reach House of Hades. There, instead of Percy and Annabeth landing in the Cocytus when they reach Tartarus, they fall into the Styx instead. No matter Percy's powers, he still has his mother's blessing and Annabeth does not. Percy emerges from the Styx with the Curse of Achilles back in place, while Annabeth dies in the river.
The rest of HOO canon continues, albeit it with a Percy who is teetering on a major depressive episode - when he's not furious at Zeus, Hera, and Athena for putting them in this position to begin with.
Given the insistence in the first series on how no more than three demigods should ever quest together, at least three of the remaining seven should die in the final battle(s), dealer's choice on details.
ToA also follows canon, albeit with Percy tagging along for all of Meg and Apollo's adventures. Despite Percy being a demigod powerhouse, this changes very little of the plot. Instead we get glimpses of a deep friendship between Percy and Apollo that lasts even after the latter returns to godhood, which starts as some level of codependency - Percy is having trouble adjusting to normal camp life, Apollo needs his help to stop the end of the world, and Percy needs to be needed at this point - but turns into genuine respect and care for each other as the series progresses.
The crossover picks up 2-3 months after The Tower of Nero, with Percy appearing in the middle of Kaer Morhen with little to no explanation. This should heavily echo the start of SoN, with Percy actively blaming Hera and asking if anyone's missing from the Witcher side of things. When it becomes clear that the exchange goes only one way, Percy assumes this is the gods way of getting rid of him without risking being unable to kill him themselves and falls deep into depression.
The Witchers help. For all that Percy hates being trapped in their world, they're decent people with experience dealing with horrible life events. Over the next six months or so, Percy's mental health improves greatly.
Meanwhile, back in our universe Apollo is tearing apart heaven and earth to find out what happened to Percy. It's during this period that Apollo comes to realize he's fallen in love with another mortal without realizing it - a soft, genuine love born of friendship rather than momentary affection or lust - which of course make's Percy's absence worse.
Eventually he determines that Athena sent Percy to the Witcher universe as punishment for being unable to save her daughter from the Styx - with the agreement of Zeus, who doesn't want a demigod as powerful as Percy around. Out of respect for her daughter's memory, she sent him to a place where he wouldn't be killed immediately - where he could even thrive, even rising to godhood in that dimension, but far away from where she'd have to look at him for all eternity.
Cue much brainstorming, Apollo and all of Percy's surviving friends are able to retrieve Percy from the Witcher world - but not before 3-5 years has passed on their side of things.
Upon Percy's return, it quickly becomes clear that he either has to accept godhood or allow himself to be destroyed, as he's just that powerful.
Had he been forced to make the choice before his trip, Percy probably would have chosen the latter simply because of his depression, but his sojourn with the Witchers helped him come to terms with his losses in a healthy enough way that he chooses godhood instead. This should be done after a long, emotional conversation with Apollo that doesn't quite end with them declaring eternal love for each other, but with the soft and sweet promise of deciding to see where things lead between them - a hope of a better tomorrow, nothing more.
Bonuses include: 1) An interleaving of Percy and Apollo chapters, which echo each other in emotional tone if not necessarily content: Percy's panic at being dimension swapped is echoed in Apollo's panic that Percy is missing again, Apollo's realization that he's fallen for Percy could be echoed in Percy realizing he's finally over Annabeth and had been starting to fall for Apollo, &c; 2) Percy not exactly getting to be a kid, but not having the weight of the world on his shoulders for once; and 3) Percy really wanting to hate Athena for sending him to another universe, but never quite managing it as it turned out to be more of the rest cure he needed than a punishment.
And that's all I have - though in retrospect almost any fandom could do for the second half of the crossover, so long as it gives Percy an environment to come to terms with all the loss and suffering he's undergone in his own. A post-Hobbit, pre-LotR sojourn in Rivendell, perhaps? Anyway, as always, feel free to adopt this bun - just link back if you do.

It's dark
It's cold
It's hard to breathe
He feels like he's underwater, barely able to see himself, but he knows he isn't Liam. He is Backpack.
It's dark
The empty black ocean surrounding him reminds him of the familiar embrace of a calm death. Being familiar with death feels too wrong.
It's cold
No light to bring warmth, everything in his body feels frozen and numb, not even his own body heat. Of course he doesn't have body heat, he is a backpack after all.
It's hard to breathe
He can't move, he's sinking, he realizes what's happening.
Panicked, Backpack looks around for something, anything to help him get out. He sees the bubbles and looks up. A light. Backpack swims towards the light. It's very difficult to move when you can feel hundreds of needles on your skin.
It's hard to breathe
Desperation and adrenaline running through his body and the cold seeping to the bones. The need to live lighting every nerve with madness. He swims faster and harder but it looks like it's not making progress, not going as fast as he should.
The black void starts flashing a bloody red color that hurts his eyes. Still pursuing the light, the hope of getting out of wherever this place is. He finally reaches.
It isn't a light
It was never a light
Everything falls quiet
A broken cassette in pieces floats in this ocean, mocking his desperate attempt to survive. He wants to scream all his pain away. The universe laughs at him as the cassette, while broken, plays Airy's song. A monotone voice that will haunt him for the rest of his life echoes being him.
"Hello, contestants. I'm your host, Ą̸̹͊́̆̎̓̾į̶̪̰̏̚r̴͎̝̖̻͔̈́y̴͉̮͍̖̯͖̐. And welcome to this competition called,
Ȯ̶̬̫̖̠̭͍̜̮̝̹̠̦̺͎̲̣͓̮̙̤͊̒͗̓̿͂͐̑͒͆̚͜ͅN̸̡̢̢̡̧̨̢̺̗̯͖̺̟͍̝̥̬͓̟̯̱̠̖̋̉̋̐̓̇̏͋̽̈́͆́͂̀̓̀̀̀̃̾͑̚̚̕͝Ę̸͚͖̭̠̬̌͆̐̋̀̏̆̽̋̍̾̉́̅̅̑̂͘͠͝͠'
A drowned scream leaves his mouth, it sounds more like a whimper. Liam cracks open his eyes, but he can't see anything. He can't see the bed he's in, nor the man sleeping at his side, nor the fact that he transformed into a backpack again.
On a fast motions he sits up against the pillow, accidentally riping the bedsheets from himself. He shakes like tree leaves in a storm. Small gasps and whimpers apear just as fast as his tears, covering his eyes trying to stop them from overflowing. Liam cries as quiet as he can.
Bryce is woken up by sobs beside him, tho he can't really identify the sound because of his sleepiness.
"Li?..." He asks with a raspy whisper. Once he take a moment to sit up and rub his eyes, he find the source of the sound. His boyfriend, in his smaller form, is crying besides him.
Bryce is immediately reaching for Liam, but he remembers to do it slowly to not cause more panic. Bryce gently takes one of Liam's arm and softly takes it away from his face, while gently cupping his side with the other hand.
"It's okay honey, I got you. I'm here. You're okay"
Liam takes a moment to realize it's Bryce and lets himself cry as much as he needs to, still shaking. Liam gets closer to Bryce and hugs him tightly, burying his face against his chest. Bryce hugs him as well, still holding his tiny hand and whispering calming reassurances while rubbing little circles on his back and planting a kiss on his ' forehead '.
They stay like this for a while until they both eventually lay down again. Liam has calmed down and stoped crying, but he still doesn't go of the hug. He feels calm with Bryce by his side. Sleep is quickly taking over him, and the last thing he feels is the little fuzz of him changing forms, and Bryce's grip shifting to hold him better. And with that, he goes into a nightmare-less slumber.
Based on a comic of @ecto-hazard 's au. I kinda gave the idea of werepack on a question but I give full credit to the creator. Funny thing: I wrote this after a 5 stage paintball battle.

My review on BOLAS 2
In general I found the sequel to be a worthy successor to book 1. It had lots of funny scenes, heartfelt moments and surprising twists. Most of the new art was great and high quality as usual and I really enjoyed the world building. The main aspects that felt lackluster were romance and the final battle, plus a few smaller annoyances.
Things I liked:
world building - the story not only vastly expanded but almost turned the lore we'd learned in book 1 upside down. It was cool learning that the world isn't just black and white, the evil shadow realm and the good light realm, but much more complicated and each side sees the other as bad guys. It was a positive surprise to learn that amongst the dangerous monsters there were ordinary and good-hearted people living in the shadow realm. Tyril and Nia even had existential crisis after learning that dwarves were using shadow magic without getting corrupted.
complex (ex-)villains - that snarky Aerin was very annoying at first but it was hard to keep hating him even after the damage and heartache he'd caused in book 1, especially since Nia who'd suffered the most was able to forgive him. Similar thing with Valax. At first she seemed like a typical one-dimensional villain with a single wish to wipe out the light realm. Then it turned out she was just a purpose built tool and brainwashed to carry out someone else's world domination plans. In reality Valax was compassionate and cared about her people and sadly had never felt love and affection. Even the couple from the shadow court was strangely sympathetic.
dark and twisted moments - especially what happened to Cherta's grandmother. The way she turned into an ugly and murderous creature when Cherta was trying to keep her alive must have been an extremely traumatic experience. All the challenges the girl went through to find cure for her grandma only for it all to end in such an ugly manner. The couple of times when the MC had PTSD attacks were also heavy and heartbreaking. Or how we fed a cute puppy to a dragon for a magical feather.
Art - I loved most of the CGs, the one with Nia telling a story to kids was especially sweet and tear-jerking. The party artwork was a bit funny though, especially giant Nia just posing for us while others were busy with important stuff. New backgrounds were beautiful and new characters like the dwarves and goblins looked interesting. And why are evil women always so damn hot? I liked the original looks of LIs more but the redesigns were alright too, although I had to correct Nia's hairline to keep it consistent with book 1 hairstyles. Premium outfits were well done too, though I complained how different in style the male and female Whimsywood outfits were. My favourite was the male Shroudwatch outfit.
Things that weren't so great
pacing - The story started off very quickly. Following a short recap the MC was immediately kidnapped and after escaping and getting the gang back together it was a constant running and fighting. Luckily the story slowed down a bit later and we finally had more time to really catch up with our friends and loved ones after 3 years of waiting. The story should have focused more on how the kidnapping affected everyone. Those were the best scenes.
romance - some may like the poly/harem style freedom that they can easily romance anyone whenever they want without any limits and repercussions but for me it took away the sense of progression. It often felt like romancing my LI in book 1 meant nothing. There were a few rare moments where it changed a scene a bit but most of the time it seemed like we were merely friends. I'd like to see more acknowledgement that I'm dating one character, especially from other characters. I don't want my LI to be called just a friend when they're clearly more than that. I would have loved for an opportunity to lock to a certain romance path or involved parties to sit down and discuss polyamorous relationship. It was also strange that the MC had to sleep alone and couldn't choose to stay with the LI after making love. Another thing that grinded my gears were the romantic choices. Almost all of them were about asking a kiss from the LI, even with Valax after just a few flirty options. It's nice when picking romantic choices leads to kissing as well but romance is so much more than pushing tongues down each other's throats. Where are the tender moments, pouring one's heart out, cuddling etc? The romance has become too shallow and lustful in Choices books.
the main villain - The Ash Empress could have been an equally complex character like her daughter. After all, she turned out to be the former Mother of Grey, an old deity with an unfortunate destiny who was good-natured at first but banished to the shadow realm where she got corrupted. However, besides a tiny glimpse of hope for redemption, she remained a typical one-dimensional evil character with a banal desire to conquer the world. She didn't seem very dangerous and frightening either, despite her looks. Everyone kept making fun of the empress which easily triggered her. And defeating her felt super easy, barely an inconvenience.
the final battle - I think it was too big and convoluted. There was a lot going on, the MC kept running from one place to another to help others but the stakes never felt high enough or the odds against us, unlike the first book.
Other remarks + hopes and expectations for book 3
I wonder why the Watcher left the rift near the White Tower for last. After all, that's where our journey began in book 2. It doesn't make any sense besides plot convenience.
I guess since the story teased a new world deep below ours, we are going to spend most of the time there, which is how PB was able to give us such important choices at the end. We probably won't be seeing the consequences of our choice for long, only in the first chapter until we get the gang back together and start a new adventure. Later on it will probably just be mentioned here and there.
throughout the first two books we've had a chance to learn so many skills and find so much helpful magical bling that our MC feels very overpowered already. All of them seem underused as well. So, instead of being introduced to a plethora of new stuff, we could finally put the 27(!) already learned skills to good use and focus on something else...
...like characters. We now have 6 LIs who all are hungry for our attention. Let's spend more time with them. And the social quests could also have platonic routes. I would have gladly spent on scenes with others besides my LI but unlike WTD the 30-diamond scenes were purely romantic.
Threep (and Loola) should rejoin the crew. The owlbear cub was cute and Mal constantly picking on Tyril was funny but Threep was one of the highlights of book 1.
No more "💗 I'd like a kiss" choices. The heart icon already hints at the romantic choice, the rest doesn't have to be so obvious and should allow the writers to be more creative.
I hope to experience more moments that make us laugh, cry, puke, pull the hair out and punch the screen. Action scenes can be fun but it's the emotions I mostly look forward to.
Unlock the damn closet!

Heya! it's 🌻 anon here^^
So uhh- you've probably received that 'Yan!Kanade x reader' request from me, so I just wanted to ask that is it okay if you could change the 'general headcanons' to 'jealousy headcanons'?
That's all I really wanted to say, and I'm very sorry for the sudden change of mind, I hope you aren't too bothered by it waahhh... ToT
And also, I hope you're doing alright Krow! have a good day:DD
{Jealous YANDERE!Kanade headcanons!}
So, as I said when I wrote the Yan!Kanade headcanons, I was gonna make a separate post for this new update, instead of deleting the progress I had made in the last one, so here's an extra one for u, dear 🌻anon!
꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷♡꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦
Tumblr media
)─── ・ 。゚*.☽ .* •゚. ───(
WARNING: YANDERE CONTENT BELOW!!
It should be no surprise to anyone that a jealous yandere is trouble for any that may have their attention, and for as reserved as Kanade may be, this is the case for her as well!
Unlike most yanderes however, the composer's instability is driven by fear, so at the cost of being generally harmless towards her love interest, her state can quickly devolve into self-destructive fast...
So when she gets jealous, it's a feeling that makes her question herself. It's not about you, or them, it's about what she's feeling, and why she feels this way!
'T-they're with me, aren't they? That's right... They are... A-always have been... So, w-why does my heart sink so heavily? Why, when I know t-that they wouldn't abandon me...? Am... Am I doing something w-wrong?"
As such, the target of her fears becomes herself, as she frantically tries to regain the love that she believes may be in danger! Abundant treats, suffocating attention and quality time, affectionate gestures that may delve into desperate territory...
It's incredibly clear that she's trying her best to keep your eyes on her, which is easy enough, but that doesn't alleviate her fears! What if you're still thinking about someone else?? What if this isn't enough??
Thanks to this, if one takes things calmly and thoughtfully, and says the right words in a heartfelt manner, it's manageable to alleviate her fears without many consequences! Simply giving her some confidence can go a long way in your own safety!
However, once she's truly jealous, it becomes dangerous to inspire too much confidence in her. Because if she's still just as jealous after gaining the courage to stand up for herself... Well... It starts to get risky.
That's when a sinister realization might hit her. What if it's not her that's making the mistake, but the others around you? What if you aren't trying to get away from her, but being dragged away by others? And that's when it all changes.
She suddenly starts to go on the attack online, searching and collecting info about your friends, co-workers, anyone that was spending way too much with you! And then she begins sending messages.
"I see that my love has been hanging out quite a substantial amount, huh? Have they told you about me? I'm sure you can guess why I'm messaging you, and I don't plan on dragging this out: Either you let them have more time with their girlfriend, or... Well, I'll let these screenshots speak for themselves."
With just the right pieces of information, and the correct intimidation through messages, she can convince anyone to stop getting so close with you, and maybe even cut ties completely!
And suddenly, your friends and everyone around you begins to leave you behind! She isn't taking any chances, so she makes sure to take care of anyone she deems a threat, even before they are one!
But what if they refuse, or even try to snitch her out? Well suddenly, you find out that they're a terrible person, and that they should never be trusted! No matter how real their tears may look...
After all, it was never their battle to win. Kanade's just so soft, so fragile, needing affection and being hopelessly lost without you giving her strength... How could she ever blackmail your closest pals?
So don't let her jealousy take over her. You have time to help it die down with proper schedule management, so don't get careless with your freedom! Or soon the people around you will have theirs stolen...

Revamping what started this whole AU..
Factory Reset In Progress
(Reminder that Factory Reset is/was a collaborative effort between me, @fandomandangstlover , @duckapus , and several anons on Engie's (fandomandangstlover) blog! Credit and huge thanks to everyone who pitched in that day to help make this AU what it is now!)
(Orignal arc post!)
This isn't that huge because I'm just making major changes. Everything else is left alone, mostly because I see no need to change it. But ideas and suggestions are always welcome!
Efficiency Arc
A reminder that this is the first arc that kicks off the AU, and this is pre-character development for nearly every character. That, and the Higher-Ups/Admins/Code World have not been introduced. This revamp, however, is being made with the new world building we have!
The beginning of this Arc is relatively the same, with SMG4 being shown as more spacey, almost like he's in a trance. A change, though, is that some scenes are shown with SMG3 experiencing similar things, being spacey, and generally having a hard time focusing. When the two are together and like this, they work together scarily well, letting everyone know something wrong.
Like the old arc, it goes from 0 to 100 incredibly fast with The Coding where both SMG4 and SMG3 are reset. A big change, though, would be showing just how different they are now. They work together absolutely flawlessly, rarely voice any complaints, and are generally very distrustful of the others.
In Please Wake Up, stuff is massively changed. SMG1 and SMG2 don't know what's wrong with 3&4 this time around, but they are able to deduce that it's almost like they've been reset. But they do tell the gang their best bet of figuring out what's went wrong is by finding either 4 or 3's Pod.
The WOTFI goes the same, except we would get to see a scene of Mario meeting with Domain (but at the moment he doesn't know his name) after finding 3's Pod. Mario explains everything (he's shitting bricks the whole time) and we don't get Domain's answer, except for his eyes narrowing.
Of course, come when everyone looks lost in the battle, Mario arrives with the bow and arrows Domain and Forum gave him to give Singularity its just deserts. It's code crumbles away, but a few stray pieces manage to hide away and sneak their way back to the Pods..
There'd be a lot of emphasis on just how scary this is for everyone because this is completely different from everything that's happened, and it's giving Mario and Meggy some serious flashbacks to the Lawsuit Arc when everyone didn't remember them.
This also gives time for SMG4 to reflect once he's been freed, and he realizes how badly he's been treating Mario, and he decides that he needs to start being a better friend before something similar happens again.
When Mario gets asked how he managed to get that bow & arrow, he says the "Mario recolor in 3's Pod gave it to me-a!" Everyone goes to investigate, Domain isn't present. Everyone's very confused, but.. decide that, presently, its not something they should worry about.
As they leave, we get a full look at Domain, who only crosses his arms with a stoic face.
New Hope Arc
The arc that changes the most. There's still tons of aftereffects from Singularity's rampage, SMG4 and SMG3 being the most harmed. Their code is still incredibly fried and damaged, and SMG1&2 are clueless on this and how long it'll take for them to recover.
There's a lot of focus on recovery in their arc, and Lil Coding doesn't get introduced as early as he did last time. It's midway through the arc that he does, and it's because 4&3's code has gotten to the point where he actually needs to step up and intervene. Everyone is understandably suspicious, but the Code Manifestation simply does the code repairs and leaves as soon as he can.
It always bothered me how quickly everyone grew to trust Lil Coding, so it takes a while longer for them to come around to him. LC takes most of the initiative, coming around and helping his SMGs code and repairing it. It takes a while, but they do slowly come around.
Singularity hiding in Lil Coding's own code stays the same, and him progressively getting weaker as it takes his own code as well. The overflow command happens just the same, with Singularity coming back.
The Burden Arc
It's actually Lil Coding this time that says they need to go to the Pods, with him saying that this is something far out of his control and permission range, and they need the Admins. Everyone is confused (save for Mario), but they head to the Pods. There, we finally get the proper introduction of two of the three Admins for SM64: Domain and Forum.
We get some lore from them, them explaining that they're the Admins of 3&4 along with what Lil Coding is. Not everything is explained, of course, but we do get what's relevant and necessary to the plot.
Lil Coding and Singularity being linked stays the same, and of course, not wanting Lil Coding to end up dying, everyone looks for a way to separate them. Domain and Forum could do this, but they don't because remember. This is before all of the chatacter development everyone has had, so they're nowhere near as attached as they are now.
Eventually, Lil Coding does his thing to go and get rid of Singularity, but this time, instead of the whole stone statue thing, he's just in an indefinite power down mode until he heals. The electricity overload he does nearly completely fries his own code, but it does end up killing Singularity.
I think this is a good starting point for Domain and Forum's actual character development and to also plant the seeds of them being the SMG Prototypes. They are both incredibly confused by how upset everyone is and why they feel like something is repeating with how everyone's acting. So they decide to help out and speed up Lil Coding's recovery. I'll say that this is the start of their actual relationship with everyone.

FFIII Fun Facts of the Whatever: Dev Interview Edition (Part 2)
When the DS version of the Final Fantasy III remake was released in Japan, Square-Enix released an official strategy guide to go with it. This strategy guide went into quite a lot of detail about the game, giving tips on how to use jobs, showing off unusual team compositions and even discussing some mechanics that may not be clear in the game itself.
I’ll talk about that stuff later, but the most interesting aspect is an interview with the game staff at the back of the manual, touching upon various aspects of the game.
Thanks to Alex Highsmith of Shmupulations, part of this interview has been translated. I only had enough for an excerpt, but this excerpt is very interesting: In it, Kazuhiko Aoki (Battle Supervisor) and Hiroaki Yabuta (Main Planner) discuss the battle system for III, several of the jobs, a few ideas that didn’t make it into the final game and a rather surprising fact: A PVP mode was considered.
--Please tell us about your overall concept for the battle system of FF3DS.
Aoki: The thing we were always aiming for, throughout the development, was making sure that the battle system would be easy to pick up and enjoy, even if you knew nothing about it or hadn't played the Famicom version. That's why we decided to change some of the finer details from the original. It should still give players that overall "Ah, it's FFIII" feeling, though. I hope older players will enjoy comparing their old memories of how the game progressed, which jobs were good, and so forth with the new game.
Yabuta: For me, I didn't want this to be one of those RPGs where you just spam Fight and breeze your way through it. That's why we changed many enemies' attributes and attacks. During the development, we actually made the enemies TOO strong, and after a single normal battle your party would be practically dead. (laughs)
Aoki: There's no thrill to the battles if you're just mindlessly pressing the A button the whole time. We instead wanted a system that forced characters to make tense choices, one where your characters could easily die if you aren't paying attention.
--It sounds like balancing that system was a big challenge. Compared to the Famicom, there's fewer monsters in each battle... was this also part of that balancing?
Yabuta: When you go 3D, the battles always get a little bit longer. We calculated how often we wanted players in a given dungeon to get close to death, and adjusted the number of enemies, their strength, and the encounter rate accordingly.
Aoki: Speaking of balancing, Aoki kept adjusting the strength of the final form of the Cloud of Darkness all the way to the very end of the development, moments before the deadline.
--Now I'd like to ask you about the job system. Let's start with Suppin [Freelancer].
Yabuta: Since we've added personalities for the four characters, it felt odd to suddenly start the game and see that everyone already had the "Onion Knight" class. So we brainstormed some new names, but it was surprising how quickly everyone settled on "suppin." (laughs) Suppin first appeared in FFV, as the most powerful class that could equip anything, but we've made them a little weaker for FFIII. With everyone in their basic default state like this, players would be able to better enjoy the prologue... that was our concept.
--Did you know from the beginning that you would split the Onion Knight and Suppin in this way?
Yabuta: We had planned to add some special bonus features as apart of the new Wi-Fi functions. At that point we already had separate designs for Suppin and Onion Knight drawn up, so we decided to make the Onion Knight a hidden job, something you'd have to dig a little past the surface to find. Rather than a brand new job, we thought it might make players happier to add the most popular job from the original FF3 as a hidden job.
--You acquire the Thief job earlier now too, and with their attack power and Steal command upgraded, they're a lot more usable.
Suzuki: There weren't many monsters in the Famicom version you could steal from (or items to steal), and we thought players who are used to modern games wouldn't be comfortable with that. So we gave players the Thief earlier and added more items so players could enjoy using Steal more. Also, the number of attacks you get in FF3DS is based on the weight of your equipment, not your speed stat, so you get to take more actions if you wear light equipment. The Thief excels on both these points so he can play a much more active role in battle.
--In contrast, you get the Karate-ka [Black Belt] later now.
Yabuta: The biggest reason for that was to maintain the balance of the number of jobs you get. The water crystal has a lot of fighter-type jobs. But strategically we couldn't afford to hold back the Dark Knight and Dragoon classes. So it was like, who can we put later... and that was Black Belt. My apologies to fans of this class from the Famicom version.
--The Ranger could use white magic in the original, but you've replaced that with Barrage.
Yabuta: Barrage didn't appear until FFV, but it's now one of the Final Fantasy serie's most well-known, signature abilities. Attacking four times feels great--and my personal love for that ability was a part of it too. (laughs) As for the white magic, we were worried that if there were too many jobs that could use magic, it would make the Ranger's role kind of confusing. We wanted him to be focused on fighting.
--How about the Sage?
Suzuki: Compared to the original we lowered their power a lot, so much so that I was wondering if it's OK. Our image for them was a balance between the Devout, Magus, and Evoker jobs.
--Next, I wanted to ask about the Scholar.
Suzuki: The Scholar works very well with the Thief. The Scholar can use the items the Thief steals 2x as effectively, while being able to discern enemy weakpoints too. He uses healing items like Hi-Potions twice as effectively too, so if you have a Scholar you don't necessarily need a White Mage. That versatility made him very popular with our staff, too.
Yabuta: The problem is whether players will realize these things. We definitely don't advertise the 2x item effectiveness very much in game. But I think once players notice it they will think the Scholar is awesome.
--Next up is the Viking, who I feel has been hugely improved from the original.
Suzuki: In the Famicom version, the Viking was one of those jobs that didn't really stand out. Since they don't get a lot of hits--or rather, they are a low speed character--we decided to compensate for that by making the Viking focused on single, one-shot power attacks. And the biggest change, of course, was adding the Provoke command. If you make use of that, the battles become quite easy.
Yabuta: It's easy for players to get into a habit of just spamming Fight for every battle, so Provoke adds a nice accent to that. It was a great addition for that reason, I think.
--It gives you more of a chance to combo attacks with your allies.
Aoki: Yeah. In the Famicom version he was more of a solo fighter, but this we're hoping players will think of the various combinations they could pull off with the Viking and other characters.
--Moving on, I wanted to ask about Yabuta's favorite job, the Evoker.
Yabuta: This job gave us a lot of trouble. At first, we considered letting the player choose the summoning effect (black or white), but ultimately we reverted to the original way of having it be completely random. We're hoping players will actually enjoy the slight unexpectedness of it.
Shiva, Ramuh, Titan, and Ifrit are about equal strength, and if you can figure out the right one for the right circumstance, then Evoker can be very strong. On bosses, Titan might be best for the consistent damage, while for normal enemies, Shiva is a good choice for the sleep or magic damage... if players realize those distinctions I think they'll have a lot of fun with it.
--Like the abandoned "at-will" Evoker ability you just mentioned, were there any other abilities you dropped during the development?
Yabuta: There were tons. (laughs) There was an ability called "tsuresari jump" [abduction jump] for the Dragoon.
--What was that like?
Yabuta: The Dragoon would grab the enemy, take them into the air with them, and then slam them down on the ground. Another idea we had, actually, was to have PvP battles using the Wi-Fi connection. And for awhile we had a number of abilities related to that feature, but ultimately we felt uncomfortable about it. "Should Luneth and his friends really be fighting and hitting each other...?" So unfortunately,  we decided to put that off for another game in the future.
Thanks once again to Alex Highsmith for translating this. Shmupulations is a site that hosts translated video game interviews from various sources, including several Final Fantasy games, such as VI and Tactics.

Demon Bride Ch16 When Hearts Beat-Be Careful Who They're Attached To
(Warnings: Mentioning of abuse, mentioning of death, mentioning of wounds, mentioning of killing. The other spider siblings are shown in the link below. Again Rui's spider family is his actual family for this au.
Spider_Family?file=The_Daughte)
Tumblr media
It all started just a few months ago. This problem he found himself in.
In happened at night. One dark night. Near the end of last year. He was tired and stopped to rest when it happened.
STRUM!!
His mind was pulled into a calling. It was like his conscious became thinned, light as air, and as nimble as a snake slithering through the lines of connection between himself and the bonds the Master's blood allowed them all to have. If he had one way of describing it, he would say it felt and looked like a tree rooted into their minds, different branches that were never the same but still connected to the same trunk in the end sharing the same deepened roots. The mind thread slithered ever closer to the thing that pulled and pulled and pulled him until he felt himself connecting to two others before him in this web of connections. One of the Twelve Kizuki wished him here, and the one responsible for bringing him here was just above him sitting silently. Upper Moon Five, Nakime, the one responsible for all transportation within this hivemind of threads. He reached out to that small thread sending a questioning thought for why she brought him here on such short notice. In return a thrum of an instrument vibrated within the wave lengths in return, and then he quickly understood why.
The Master.
The twisted, rotting, suffocating presence enveloped the wavelengths and twisted around them like gnarled roots taking in them both completely as always when they met, his aura was always so strong it made him tremble a little from just the mental presence alone. It would've been worse had it been face to face.
"Head to the far side of the Eastern Woods. Assist Hantengu in ceasing those rival clans' quarreling and dispose of the heads of both clans as warning. Their bickering has come to the point it's affecting progress in that area."
"It will be done."
STRUM!!
He was released right after allowing him to no longer rest as he forced himself to stand up and begin walking. He would have a long distance to cover in a short amount of time if he wanted to meet up with Hantengu before he did anything that could jeopardize the Master's wishes. After all, Hantengu was getting very old in age and it was already having a hard time perfecting his duties, which was why next year would be his last in servitude to the Master before he retired for good which was both good and bad. Good because he personally thought Hantengu was getting too old for this kind of work and should retire soon. Bad because he had no idea who would be taking Hantengu's place as Upper Moon Four and Upper Moon Five as Gyokko was also retiring soon. It was a rare event that two Upper Moons would be retiring so close to one another. Then again it was probably for the best as the two soon wouldn't be able to continue to do their duties for too long due to their ages. He was more worried about the new ones who'll be replacing them. They better not think of challenging him. He wasn't about to give up his rightful place without a fight.
It was a two day journey even with his speed. He had indeed caught up with the much older, skittish demon up the mountain. Almost tripped over him was more like it. No wonder- He found him in the most predictable spot. Cowering behind a tree, practically trembling like a leaf in the wild winds, and if it wasn't for his excellent hearing, he would never have heard his soft whimpers.
"Hantengu." As expected, the man gave a louder whimper and practically curled into the tree more if that was even physically possible. How pathetic. A Twelve Kizuki and yet he couldn't stop trembling at the sight of just a typical rival clan battle. "You've gotten here before I did. I'm surprised." He decided not to comment on how pathetic and cowardly he looked, he'd save it for after their mission here was done. "That must mean you know more about the situation. So tell me, what happened?"
Hantengu, Upper Moon Four, made some kind of noise that was a cross between a cat's garble and a sob before managing to point a shaking hand towards the darkened forest in front of them. "H-Horrible. J-Just terrifying. A massacre. A massacre. Barely anyone left alive from fighting. Many blood and bodies."
"I see."
Gold and blue eyes took a scan over to the darkness of the night. The thick trees were littered with something sparkling, like many strands of silk were woven through the many branches and leaves shining in the moonlight. But there was something carried over the wind now that he could smell it. Blood and death. There had indeed been a serious battle recently, but there was bare silence other than the cries of a few typical forest animals, Hantengu's whimpering, and the rustling of leaves against one another. It was unnaturally calm. He didn't like that. Just reminded him of standing in the eye of a tornado, just calm before the next aftermath.
"...When did the fighting cease?"
"J-Just a mere hour after I arrived. So scary! It was horribly violent."
He didn't doubt it was by how strong the smell was. "Which clans was it?"
"Two terrible predators. Spider and Mantis! T-Two clashes that were never supposed to meet."
Spider? He's heard a few things about that clan. Nothing good. Rumors about them sucking the lives out of humans who strayed into their webs. Made his job harder sometimes. "Hmph. I don't suppose you know what we're supposed to do then?" Hantengu gave a louder whimper. That was a yes in Hantengu-nese. "Then I'll give you the easier job. Head to the Mantis family and kill their head of house. It shouldn't be too hard for you since you're so good at sneaking up on people." That was one skill he'd commend Hantengu for at least. Not even he himself could tell he was there sometimes.
The older demon just snapped to him worried. "Are you MMAAAAADDD!? By myself!? The Mantis all have terrifying claws!" He held out his own hands and pawed like a cat to demonstrate which made him roll his eyes.
"Their number have probably dwindled by the fight, and you're very strong. Would you rather deal with a Spider's web and poison?" Golden-blue eyes narrowed more. "Or would you rather risk the Master's anger for an incomplete job?" His pathetic choke answered him. "Then get going. I'll do the same for the Spider family."
Hantengu didn't argue beyond muttering something about it possibly going horribly wrong and whimpering. He shuffled rather quickly around the tree and scuttled off into the trees in a way that reminded himself of a lowly cockroach. The sight made him give a sigh and eye roll at his pitiful display but that didn't delay him from starting to walk off into the trees in the direction of all the sparkly looking strands of 'silk', except he knew better. These were really strands of silk or any kind of fabric, if his skin touched it he would no doubt feel the sickeningly stickiness of it. Spiders' webs. They were woven through all the trees and their branches, looped around their trunks and over many large bushes and giant rocks. It was made to trap others, their prey. It was what made this family dangerous for many generations, not just their deadly poison and the terrifying rumors surrounding them. That was most likely why himself and Hantengu had been the ones to be called to deal with this problem. The web of blood got thicker and thicker with each step he took. More and more webbing. Thicker and thicker like walls almost between the trees. He was perhaps an hour into just walking when he came across the first few casualties of this mess. The first few fallen demons just strewn across the ground in this place and that. Many spatters of red painting much of the earth, many trees forever decorated with claw marks, and many pieces of webs strewn all over the ground having been slashes right through by powerful claws.
"I knew the Mantis was desperate for more territory, but I didn't expect them to make it a blood bath like this," he muttered to himself  stepping over the remains of someone with preying mantis features etched into his face and arms. There was a few remains with those features scattered about, all the others had pale features with scattered red dots all over their bodies. Spiders. "....There's more Spider Clan casualties than Mantis." He mused to himself. "That doesn't seem very promising. The entire clan might've been wiped out."
That might've been by the fighting ceased so quickly according to what Hantengu told him. That wouldn't be good. The Master would be very displeased if that was the case. The Spider clan was very vauluable for the spider silk and poison they provided him, if they were all gone, he might order them to wipe out the entire Mantis Clan in retaliation for this crime. Most of the spider clan remains were pure white so it was easy to tell them all apart, besides one deceased male. His whole body was that of a literal spider. He looked young too. Maybe just have became an adult. But he didn't see or hear the presence of any survivors. Which meant that they really were all wiped out or the survivors were deep in hiding, which meant he had to look harder to find the remainder of them if there was any. Just as he thought that a woman's high pitched scream pierced the air and echoed over the remains surrounding him. Ah. Right on time. He made sure to follow up on that scream rather quickly. It wasn't hard to locate the owner of that scream or the reason why she had been screaming so rather loudly.
It was just a couple yards to the west of him beyond some trees and nestled by what looked to be the remains of a once small house, obviously damaged from whatever fight had taken place. It's frame was badly splintered and there was a gaping hole in the side where a wall used to be. And the source of the noise was right in front of him.
A woman and a man. The man was as ugly as he looked big and hulking, and he looked different to most of the deceased he's seen. Instead of being almost totally pure white like the rest of his brethren, this giant man was almost entirely an ugly dully grey with duller red spots lining his arms. The only part of him that was white was the long white hair cascading from his head. Oh. But he could tell that this man was a member from the arachnid clan. His face of many eyes, fangs, and exposed pinchers told him exactly which family he belonged too. Another screech pierced through and the source was an older woman being dangled by her right arm above the ground. Now she looked exactly like the other deceased spiders. Except her pure white body was painted with red, whether that was her own blood or blood from the battle he didn't know. All he knew was that she was just dangling there in the much larger man's grip as he effortlessly held her up with one hand. Tears rolled down her face as a mix of pained screams and pleads for him to put her down left her mouth. Behind her was five smaller forms of various sizes, all of them as pale as her with some kind of red spotted all over their own bodies. They all huddled together far from the two of the adults in one mass of shivering. Children.
A popping of bones echoed from angered fists balled was the only warning sound before a moment later there was no arms left to dangle the woman by. With a thud she fell too the ground and the hulking form was staggered back in sudden pain and surprise at the loss of his appendage.
"You must be the head of the family. You're powerful aura tells me that much." What he was met with was a hiss from the taller figure in what was supposed to be threatening tones, but to him it might as well have just been a harmless pup's bark. "Finding you was much easier than I thought. I guess you helped in that regard."
"SSStay away from my family!"
"Family? ...So this is your family?" For a brief moment he turned back to just glance at the mass of shivering people behind him. The woman, whomever she may be, had wriggled her way out of the slaughtered arm's grip and scrambled away on hands and knees by now. "...I'm going to assume that woman is your wife then." A snap back to the hulking figure. "You know, a man should never be so cruel to his wife. Especially one that blessed you with many beautiful children, assuming that you are they're father and mother."
A long deep hiss was delivered from the lumbering giant. "Leave."
"I don't think I will. You seem eager to fight someone, so I will take that place whether you wish it or not. I don't think fighting a weakened woman would be a good battle anyways. So let us get this pointless matter settled." A blue tipped hand was gestured to him. "I'll even be generous and let you have the first move. That should be fair to you."
It in fact did not take very long for the fight to end if he could even could call it that. The lumbering idiot like expected struck out with his one remaining arm and he gave a kick, a powerful kick that dislodged the taller man's head off with a sickening crack an off it flew somewhere in the darkness. It was over. The body fell with it's own sick down at his feet and it gave him a semi-satisfied feeling knowing he could get this job done so quickly. Although the display might've been a bit much for the ones behind him. Speaking of which- The woman was crying lightly still, but gasped and looked up at approaching feet before a being with golden-blue eyes knelt down and peered at her.
"Woman. Are these your children?"
A terrified, stuttered grunt. "Yes."
"I see. ...Tell me, did anyone else survive?"
Two grunts and a whine. "I don't know."
"Ah..." Glancing back to the children, there was in deed five. Two girls and three boys. The oldest looked no older than thirteen, and the youngest looked no younger than six. "...Do you know who I am?"
A grunt. "Yes."
"Good. Then consider this an order from your superior. Take all your children and head north east from here towards the Eastern Mountain Border, it's a five day travel on foot. Within the Yokai Forest resides the domain of Lower Moon Six at Tsuzumi Mansion. Ask him for shelter and you shall get it from him. He's a kind man and he won't turn you away. Now gather your children and leave immediately. You'll need the head start."
He left her and the children at that. It would be bad to not look around before he left, just to be sure. A careful and thorough search through the territory turned up a few survivors. Some looked ok enough to live some looked like they wouldn't last beyond the night. Shame. The woman and children were gone when he again passed through the area. Good. She took the chance and fled with her family. Only more misfortune would've met them if they stayed here. Hantengu was found later literally crawling his way out of the woods by the time dawn rose around. He didn't think it would take that long for him to take care of one person.
"Have you done your end of the task?"
"It was horrible. Horrible! All those people thinking it was my fault he died! It was not me, it was not me! My hands were not my own! You believe me..don't you?"
"That is a yes then. Good. You may go then. I shall inform the Master his mission is complete."
Hantengu was all but happy to leave that part to Akaza, and quickly take his leave. No doubt back home to his sons who all enabled his behavior. Sigh. He would steer clear of their drama however. He was not in the mood, especially when he had to be the one who'd tell the master. He was then tasked with another thing.
"Take a survey of the aftermath to send to the Record Keeper, and bury the bodies."
In other words, find out who was dead and their names and ages to send to Kyogai and then bury all the dead. Sigh. This would certainly take a while and he wasn't wrong. He had to practically threaten the leftover survivors into identifying the deceased and to get the information he needed to send to Lower Moon Six, and bury the large amount of casualties left everywhere. It took him quite a while, but like with everything else he was tasked with, he made sure it was completed no matter how long it took. The Master seemed pleased with his work and it left him to do his regular tasks for the last few remaining months of that year, and then came the one month he despised more than any other. January was always a hard month for him. It was hard sometimes to keep his kind in line when so many men thought human women would be easy prey during that month and he'd be dammed if he let any poor human woman fall into their grasps that easily! In fact it wasn't even until that hard month was over that he heard from his Master again just shortly after Enmu had delivered him some blood.
STRUM!!
It didn't surprise him too much that he was being tasked with something yet again once he was contacted by Nakime, but he was astonished at the order he was given next.
"Last year Lower Moon Six received survivors of the Spider Clan. You are to take them all to Upper Moon Two are servants. Both of your fellow moons have already been notified of your arrival in advance."
DOUMA!? That womanizing, empty shelled pervert!? His Master wanted him to take a widow and her children to that dammed fool as servants for him and his cult!? ....He would not fight against his Master's final say on the matter, but he deeply expressed his anger at the situation he found himself in. Douma needed more servants like he needed an extra useless tail! However like with every other order, he would make sure to carry it out. It took him a few days to travel to his destination, a bit longer because he took a small detour to a nearby demon settlement to buy a pair of bags of konpeito candy for the young ones. No child should have to be moved about like this especially to the servitude of someone like Douma. He was just glad the family had survived the travel over to Kyogai's home. The Tsuzumi Mansion wasn't too hard for him to find, he had been there before on the rare occasion he was needed in this area. So he was inspecting the reaction of the lady servant when she opened the door to answer his knocking and bowed.
"Lord Akaza. Welcome. We've been expecting you. Would you like a meal after your long journey?"
He shook his head no. "No. I would rather leave as soon as possible. The Spider Mother and her children, where are they?"
"Oh, yes. The boys are already gathered by My Lord's study. The rest of the family is in the garden I heard. Shall I fetch them for you?"
"No. I'd rather have you tell Kyogai I'm here...And please, give the children this. They'll like it." He then offered her one of the two bags before she scurried on her way.
He would rather have them looked over and had a good meal before he made them leave with him, they would need the strength for the long distance. He knew where the garden was so he went straight there. Althought he wasn't ready for what he would see and smell. He was hit with a wave of...amaryllis blooms?? That was strange. He'd only smelt that flower once, a long time ago when his Master took an interest in foreign floral for scientific reasons. He liked the flower, not because of it's looks but what it symbolized. Strength. He found it so amusing that something as simple as a flower could be strong to survive the harsh cold of winter to bloom in spring. So it was curious as he approached the garden, perhaps Kyogai had added a new addition to his garden.
"OW!"
"Hold still so I can bandage it for you. Then you can finish the poem you were reading."
The smell had suddenly gotten very stronger with the new voices coming from just down the hall. Now where was that coming from? He walked further approaching the door to the outside of the garden.
"Spring is a season that radiates warmth, new beginnings, and positive energy. It denotes a calm and peaceful atmosphere with a clear blue sky. The days are radiant, lovely, and peaceful with a golden sun. When the land wakes up it becomes a good mother to all, delivering food and giving life to the darkness-"
"What does this word mean?"
"Oh! Atmosphere? That's just another name for the heavens."
"And this word?"
He finally got to the doorway and paused, incredibly surprised at what he saw. IT WAS A HUMAN!!
"That's radiant. It's just another way of saying something is wonderful or beautiful or the like. Like you. And you."
"Shall I continue reading?"
"Yes!" "Please do!"
He couldn't believe what he was seeing! It was an honest to gods human sitting in the middle of  the garden, a giant book in her lap and in front of her was four demons. Three of which were pale white, and one had four arms and eyes. What was a human doing here of all places? Weren't they supposed to be in one of the assigned districts the Master put aside for them?
"The days of long cold winters sleep has risen to make way to other corners of the lands for his sisters Spring and Summer to come take his place, and embrace us all in the treasures they bring. The strength-....Oh."
"What is it?"
He watched as the human woman flipped through a few pages before she held up the book to the demon with four arms. "That's where all the stories and poems end. I guess whoever was writing in it didn't get to finish it yet. There's nothing else to read yet."
"Aw!" "Come on!"
"Don't be like that! She can't help it if the rest wasn't written."
It seemed he was finally noticed, because the oldest pale demon turned to look at him, and paused at what she saw. Ah. She must've recognized him from last year. Oh well, since he was caught he might as well make himself known. So he stepped on down to the ground and began approaching them. Slowly, after all he didn't want to startle them.
"Well what would you say would finish that sentence about strength, Madam Y/n?"
"Strength!" His voice made everyone jump and turn their heads to his approaching form, immediately the two children fled to their mother's side. "Mental, physical, emotional, and raw. Strength keeps you going when you feel you can go on no more." He stopped just a few yards away and held up a hand before with a popping of bones it snapped inhumanly fast into a tight fist. "If you're wondering if you're strong, the answer is always yes. Don't underestimate the silent strength that you don't even know you possess."
They all eyed him wearily or shocked from his entrance but it was the human that spoke first. "That..was a very lovely analogy of the term of strength."
"I thank you," he thanked her back with a small bow of his head smiling wider. He also lowered his first noticing her purple eyes kept glancing at it wearily, she seemed relieved when he lowered it. "I pride myself on knowing all about strength no matter what definition of it is used, so I am glad someone thinks I do well to know it."
She nodded back to him but rose her brow further. "I hope you don't mind me asking this, but who are you? I've never seen you before and I would've remembered seeing someone with your unique features in the mansion."
He chuckled a little bit. No. Suppose she didn't know who he was. Understandable. "I'll take that as a compliment.'' Pressing a hand to his chest, he bowed from the waist slightly. "I am Akaza, Upper Moon Three of the Twelve Kizuki. And you are a human who smells of amaryllis blooms. Those flowers symbolizes strength, although I have only seen them once when my Master was trading botany many years ago. Nonetheless, I find them appealing. You have very wise selections in perfume," He complimented her with a smile. He was honestly surprised Kyogai allowed anyone to wear perfume here considering his hatred for it.
"L-LORD AKAZA!! F-FORGIVE ME!!" The four armed demon, Kyogai's healer if he remembered right, suddenly threw herself in a deep bow before him. "I-IF I WOULD'VE KNOWN Y-Y-YOU'D BE COMING TODAY I WOULD'VE GATHERED A LUNCH FROM THE KITCHEN FOR YOU!!," she practically shouted in both fear and nerves and she dug her forehead deep into the grass below. "PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!"
Oh dear. He hated when something like this happened. Not that he didn't mind the respect, but he didn't want a poor woman to feel threatened to treat him like this in his presence. In response he approached her slowly and carefully as to not make her feel anymore uncomfortable than she already was, kneeling down to outstretched a hand to her in assurance. What he didn't expect was for a blur of someone's hand to harshly smack his away and for the human to throw herself over the female demon with a protective stance and scowl to her face. THE HUMAN!? He was caught so off guard that he was stunned into silence for a good while
"Ok! Listen you!" She pointed right at his face making his eyes cross to look at her hand. "I don't care what moon phase you claim to be! I have been both insulted, and scared by two of you already!! And don't get me started on what a pervert that one man came off as! I don't care if you're offended or not!! YOU KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF ERI!!"
.....Wait.
What?
He paused as the words sunk into his skull. She thought...he was going to HARM the other woman? She said her name was 'Eri' right? What the hell gave off THAT impression!? He didn't even make any threatening gestures-...Wait! Did she say other moons did something to her!? WHO!? WHY!? Was that the reason she was so hostile to him just now? Because she thought he was going to do something unspeakable to Eri? That was horrible! This is exactly what he works so hard to avoid! He may not be perfect but he wasn't a monster! He'd better correct this now before it snowballed into something he really could have a headache with, especially amongst humans.
"I wasn't going to harm her."
"...What?"
"I wasn't going to harm her," he repeated again. "I'd NEVER harm a woman. Especially one much weaker than myself and unarmed."
"I-" She blinked. "Then what were you-"
"I simply wanted her to stop kneeling before me. She has no need to and I don't want her too." She turned silent when he slowly turned back to Eri whome remained still. Hopefully that explained his actions. "Eri is it now? Kyogai has mentioned you as a healer correct? Can you please do a request for me?"
"O-Of course!" The human yelped back as Eri suddenly sat up immediately with a strained smile on her face. "W-What ever my lords need, I'll be s-s-sure to deliver!"
Akaza smiled happily at her. "That's wonderful! I thank you for your assistance. I heard you are a healer, so I don't suppose you will look over the dear woman and her children before I take them away from here would you?"
She immediately nodded. "Of course, My Lord! I can do that easily!"
"Then it's settled! Oh! That reminds me.'' He couldn't forget while he was here. He turned to smile at the Mother Spider who still blinked surprised as two of her children cowered at her sides. The poor things. Hopeful to remain as non-threatening as possible, he remained on his knees and walked on them towards her a bit. He must've looked silly, but that was the point wasn't it? With a smile a hand reached to his side and promptly produced the second bag he had brought with him. "Here. I brought you and your children a gift." The woman blinked at the bad held up to her. His smile faltered a bit. "...Do you not remember who I am?"
She blinked back to him. "....I do remember. You are the man who spared me my fate. I don't I've ever thanked you."
"Please don't bow!" he quickly held up a hand before she could even start doing that. "There's no need to thank me. I'm just happy you and all your children were able to make it safely out."
"...You would be wrong about that. Not all of my children are here with me."
That made him raise a brow. "Did you lose some on the way here? If you did, I'll go look for them immediately. They might be close by."
"I would prefer it if you didn't." The surprise on his face must've shown because she explained further. "The two who are not with me are my oldest sons. One is dead."
"A-Are you sure?"
"Yes. I saw him get killed last year during the battle. I have no idea if my second son is dead, and frankly I would not care if he was. He may have been very young, but he was a cruel boy. He reminds me too much of his father."
Akaza blinked at the words that came from her mouth. How could a mother say something like that about her son? Then again he had no idea what her situation was like. "How old is he?"
"About as old as my daughters."
About as old as these girls were huh? "I did not see anyone like that amongst the survivors or the dead for that matter. If he was taken hostage by the Mantis, I would've known by now."
"Then he is either in hiding where not even you know where he is or he ran away. Either way, I cannot be concerned about him no longer. I have my other children as priority as their mother."
"...What was his name? Maybe if I search there once more I can find him."
"His name is Rui. But I beg you, if you find him...Don't bring him to me." He did not answer to that and instead watched as she accepted the bag from him finally and open it to look at the contents inside. "...Is this...candy?"
"Konpeito candy," he confirmed with a nod. "It's for your little ones. I figured after such a scay experience, they could use something sweet in their life. But I must ask, do you know why I'm here?"
She nodded sadly. "Yes. I-It was explained to me by the lord of the mansion. To think to be servants of an Upper Moon."
"I don't like it anymore than you. Trust me. But I can promise your children will be safer there than anywhere else. There's plenty of tutors for all children human or demon, and much more security. Before we go, I want you to have a good meal and have your children see the healer-"
CRUNCH!!
?? Both looked over to the two small girls, already digging their way into the candy and was eating it rather happily by the looks of it. ....He let out a small chuckle and smiled. At least someone seemed happy right now.
"...Are you sure all that sugar won't come back to haunt us?," she asked with a worried look.
"Do not worry," Akaza assured her, "I did not get a lot, and the travel to your new home will burn off any sugar they consume. However I want to get you all a good meal before we leave. You'll need the strength for the long journey, especially your beautiful little ones. I shall bring some out to you all...And while I shall be inside..." There was a popping of bones as his hands dug into fists on his legs and a small vein appeared on his head as he turned to he human and Eri, despite his sweet smile and calm tone not changing he felt himself getting angry at the situation at hand. "I believe you mentioned before some of my fellow ranks being cruel to you, causing you to lash out at me earlier. I apologize on their behalf. Would they happen to be the two that's currently inside?"
She blinked. "You mean Kyogai and Kaigaku? Oh no. Not Kyogai!" She explained holding up her hands. No. He didn't think Kyogai would be the one. "He's been nothing but polite and kind to everyone I've seen, including myself." Yep. He suspected that much.  "Kaigaku however has been rather rude." She frowned, and he felt an instant vein pop on his forehead. "He's very difficult like a spoiled child."
Kaigaku huh?.....Inhale-
THAT LITTLE SHIT WAS DEAD.
....He inhaled and let out a sweet chuckle. "That sounds like him alright. But I'm sure he'll cause you no more problems! He's a quick learner despite his temper. ....Excuse me, Ladies." He slowly stood before bowing to all of them still smiling despite the anger clearly displayed on himself. "I shall return with some food shortly. After they have eaten and have been looked over I'll take them. Please pardon me."
He rather stiffly and quickly through the garden back into the mansion and with deepening anger marched straight to where he sensed Kyogai was. He knew that little shit couldn't have been far behind, and he was right. He found the two lower moons talking in a hallway. Kyogai looked both annoyed and tired about whatever Kaigaku was spouting at him but froze upon seeing the powerful form of Upper Three approaching.
"Kaigaku!" The ass practically squealed like a pig and snapped around to him wide eyed in fright. "It's been a while since we've last spoken to one another. Come here and tell me how exactly you've been interacting with that human girl!"
**********************************************************************************
"CRAP!!"
You ignored whatever Eri yelled after you as you just jumped up and RAN. Sprinting back across the soft grass and leaping into the mansion like another demon was chasing after your soul. This was bad. This was bad! THIS WAS VERY VERY BAD!! You hadn't meant to send a full beating after Kaigaku! Sure he was a right old pig's arse and he was pretty rude and annoying, but that didn't warrant a beating from a powerful beating! At least in your opinion it didn't. With wide eyes and heart beating, you charged down through the mansion's hallways back up towards the kitchen. Just past the kitchen was Kaigaku's room so that's the first place anyone would look for him. Other servants either jumped out of the way or looked confused as you ran past, breathing heavily as you got closer and closer, until with one last turn you got there. The hallway yours and Kaigaku's rooms were stationed in. Footsteps echoing throughout the hall, you immediately ran to the sliding door leading into Kaigaku's room and just threw the door open with a loud slam. Kaigaku would probably yell at you later, but you'd rather have him yell at you then become a puddle on the floor.
"Kaigaku!!"
Empty. The entire room was empty save for a futon in one corner and a few objects that looked like they belonged in a blacksmith's workshop. Maybe for Kaigaku's sword? But said demon wasn't there. It made your stomach sink and fill with dread. He wasn't here! Why wasn't he here!?
"Mistress?" You practically jumped, snapping around to the voice whom just so happened to be a random servant girl whom blinked at you. "Are you quite alright? You look pale."
"Kaigaku! Where is he!?," you practically shouted at her in an almost panic making her lean away.
"I-...H-He's with Lord Kyogai in his main study!"
''Where is that!?"
"J-Just back up the hallway near the baths. W-Why? What's-"
You didn't give her time to answer as you turned and already started running back towards the way you came, footsteps echoing through the halls behind you. By the baths. That was just a left turn by the kitchen and deeper into the mansion, so back up the hall you ran and all the way to the kitchen, before taking a turn left nearly slipping in the process but not quite as you rounded a sharp corner and nearly knocked over a servant carrying a tray of food fresh from the kitchen. You swore if Kaigaku wasn't already dead, you were going to KILL HIM YOURSELF!! With a small boost in your speed, you ran past others faster and faster until you were nearing the end of the hallway leading to two other different halls-
"P-PUT ME THE FUCK DOWN!"
"I don't think I'm finished telling how to....'correctly greet a woman'."
Right turn it was! You rounded the corner, and it was surprising that your boots didn't leave skid marks against the perfectly polished floors from how quick you slid to a stop to stare at the sight before you. Kaigaku was there alright. As pale as a ghost, wide eyed as an owl, and being held up by the back of his outer coat by a VERY annoyed looking Akaza who strained a wide smile at him. Kyogai silent stood adjacent to Akaza and just seemed to be unsure of what to do. Akaza balled a fist raising it slightly to the frozen, smaller demon in his hold. Your purple eyes shrank-
"PUT. HIM. DOWN!!"
Akaza turned his head just as a small blur came charging forward and threw it's leg back. Of course he was easily able to dodge it easily, by stepping back just as the human's leg swung through midair missing the chance to kick his leg from under him, but it was a surprise attack. On him. By a woman. By a HUMAN woman. It's was shocking enough to get him to release Kaigaku who collapsed in a heap with a thud at his feet. And stark silence came from all three of the demons as a much smaller human woman had the adacity to scowl up at them (or more specifically Akaza-).
"What is your problem!? Don't just attack someone!"
Akaza blinked back at your yell at him and Kaigaku hissed from your feet. "Don't pity me! I don't need your help- AH!"
You pushed him back down with a shove from your foot. "Don't make me regret saving you! Just consider us even now from you saving me."
".....Saving you?"
You snapped back to Akaza making him blink. "That's right. He saved me from being kidnapped by a more terrible demon weeks ago, so I decided to return the favor."
....Akaza slowly blinked. "...Kaigaku?" He turned to the hissing black haired demon on the floor, by now he sat back up and rubbed his head. "Saved you?'' He turned back to you slowly...before shaking his head and frowning. "Alright. What ulterior motive do you have? No one like you just saves someone without expecting or planning something."
"The only thing I'm 'planning' on doing with her is getting her home once she's healed." By now Kaigaku had the gull to stand up and start fixing himself with a hiss at Akaza, who in turn delivered a glare of his own. Once his coat was comfortably adjusted back on his shoulders, he looked at you and your own frown...before blinking when he took a step closer to you and gave an almost smug look to Akaza. ...Before saying something in that weird grunt-click-whistle language that you couldn't understand, so you just ended up giving the pig's arse a confused look.
Akaza and Kyogai however gained surprised look. "WHAT!?" Kyogai flinched as Akaza snapped his angry gaze to him and held up his hands as Akaza demanded, "YOU BETTER TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND HERE!! WHAT DOES HE MEAN SHE NEEDS TO HEAL!? AND HOW DID SHE COME TO BE HERE ANYWAYS!?"
"I-I can explain!,"Kyogai stuttered and, despite being much taller than Akaza, took a step back as the livid pink haired man fully turned his body to him slowly. Menacingly. It was done in such a way that made yourself give pause. It reminded you of someone. A really angry someone, and how he would always have this way of making everyone fall silent with just a look.
Bones crackled as two fists were tightly clenched, dangerously. It made Kyogai's eyes snap to them in an instant. Viens popped up all along the body that was threatening to deliver punishment.
A vision of yelling flashed before your eyes. Many crying faces cowering from Sanemi whenever he 'trained' someone or even took his bad days out on someone. Sometimes even throwing hands-
"STOP!!"
Akaza froze. Kaigaku froze. Kyogai's jaw dropped. A hand had grabbed Akaza's fist. A book fell down to the ground with a thud, it's pages falling open. Another, gentler hand wrapped daring to wrap around half way up his arm and daring to pull his arm against the warm body of someone else.
"Will you please just listen to what I have to say?'' It wasn't a demand leaving your lips, but a beg as you pulled his arm closer to you body which caught the taller demon off guard further. Well..he didn't move after a few silent tense minutes, just wide eyed staring at Kyogai, so you continued. "It's my fault I got hurt!" Akaza finally looked at you. Turning his head so stiffly, it freaked you out, expecting his bones to make more cracking sounds. ..Maybe you should've thought this through before throwing yourself at a tiger's feet, but it was too late to back out now. Steeling your nerves, you gulped down the lump in your throat, and continued. "It's my fault I got lost on the mountain. If Kaigaku hadn't stopped someone from kidnapping me, I would've been doomed to a terrible life."...Akaza slowly, SLOWLY turned his head to Kaigaku who froze and let his ears fall. Oh no. You weren't getting his attention now- "A-An-...A-And it's my fault I Kyogai's home was damaged. I shouldn't have broken into someone's home! I know it was wrong! But if he didn't take me in, I wouldn't have made it! It's thanks to both of them that I'm still alive." Akaza S L O W L Y looked too Kyogai whom felt a bead of sweat roll down his own face. "Don't you see? I would have DIED if it wasn't for them! They didn't have to help me. Kaigaku could've walked away from a random person trying to get a wife, or Kyogai could've just rightfully thrown me out but they didn't. They showed me kindness and saved me with that, and I'm very grateful to both of them. Even if Kaigaku's rude-" Kaigaku shot you a frown. "-I'd rather not see someone like him be punished for essentially helping me. So please...Akaza."
Akaza felt himself shiver down his spine as you gently tugged his arm, making him finally look to you. And your pretty purple eyes. And the helpless way you were staring at him..Andthe way your hair framed your cute face- ...A similar look to a face he once knew a long, long time ago. And the sweet scent of amaryllis blooms coming off her was...
BU-BUMP!
Her lovely eyes blinked as his free hand shakingly left his chest to gently put over your own hand. "T-Tell me...What was your name, Ma'am?"
"....Did you just fucking stutter-"
"Y/n!," you said a bit louder than normal to hopefully drown out what Kaigaku said, and you smiled at him. "My name is Y/n. And I ask you to please do you duties so that poor mother and her children can remain safe. They're a good family, so I would be sad to see anything horrible happen to them."
He instantly nodded. "I will." His hand squeezed yours a bit but in a gently way. "I promise you I will, and I shall do that now." With a final pat to your hand, Akaza turned to Kyogai who still stared wide eyed. "I'd like for your healer to look over the mother and her children, and for you to feed them before we leave." His eyes narrowed slightly. "You WILL also tell me the entire situation about how Madam Y/n came to be here before I leave. I WILL know who is responsible for this and make sure she will not be in anymore harm. Not because I don't trust your abilities," he clarified, -because if I didn't, I wouldn't have trusted you with the survivors from the mountains. I just want to be sure she'll be in the best hands possible." He then turned back to you with a happy smile and patted your hand. "Please excuse me, Miss Y/n. I must take my leave." You blinked as he calmly released himself from your grasp before turning to Kyogai. "Follow me." And giving you a smile, he left starting towards the kitchen but not before shooting Kaigaku a glare.
Kyogai however took a moment, still staring wide eyed at you. Opening his mouth-
"KYOGAI!!"
"A-AH! Y-Yes! I am coming." Shaking his head again, he made to step around you and follow Akaza who's eyes bore into him from the other end of the hall-
And that's when both a thought and realization struck you over the head like a large stone. Immediately your eyes went wide, snapping to the book on the floor (in your rush you had forgotten to leave it behind) and then to Kyogai who was stepping away-
KYOGAI WRITES!!
"Kyogai!" Said demon stopped upon hearing your voice and of course, turned to see what you wanted raising a brow. A hand of yours snatched up the incomplete book off the floor and with a few steps, you stopped in front of him before holding out said book causing a look of surprise to come over his face. "This is your book. Isn't it?"
The look of absolute surprise on his face told you all you needed to know before he sputtered out a reply. "I-...W-W-What!? I mean- Uh-" Blue and red eyes quickly glanced again and again between you and the book. "H-How did you-"
"You asked me to give it back once I was done with it, insinuating that it was yours." You said, putting two and two together. "And you're the only one I know who writes. I-...I-I really like this. A lot." A hand carefully patted the cover of the book, glad that it wasn't damaged in the fall it took. With a wide smile you held it back to him and bowed. "I was honored to be able to read this beautiful writing. I'd like it if you continued it."
You didn't hear him say anything, but you felt him take the book from your hands. Head remaining bowed, your hands returned to your sides in the silence. It was only when you heard paper lightly shuffling did you look up and spotted through your hair, Kyogai holding the book open in one hand as he carefully flipped through the pages with surprise on his face.
"The pages are unharmed. Well taken cared of." It was only then he looked back to you for a moment, before closing the book with a neutral look. "We will talk about this later. For now I have important work to do."
Without even so much as a good bye, he turned and began walking off after Akaza, holding the book up to press against his chest and mumbling things you didn't hear.
"She liked it....She thinks it's ..beautiful?"
A warm feeling bloomed from his chest as it reached his face strong enough to make it bright red.
BU-DUMPBU-DUMPBU-DUMP-
A hand snapped up to cover his mouth, his heart hammering away.
Oh no...Oh NONONONONONONO! A demon's heart NEVER BEATS!! The heart was a useless organ to demons. They didn't need it to live like other living creatures.Hell. Their hearts could be ripped out and it'd wouldn't affect them in the slightest. But there was only ONE reason a demon's heart would ever beat. When it discovered one emotion when a demon would meet that missing piece of their puzzle.
BUMPBUMPBUMPBUMP-
"....This....has just made things much more complicated..."
Although little did he know that he was not the only one with pumping hearts as Akaza's hand nearly made his chest bleed from how much his fingers dug into the place over his heart. And a black haired demon continued to stare at you as you turned around to Kaigaku and tilted your head in genuine worry at him.
"Akaza didn't hurt you, did he?"
BU-DUM!!
Kaigaki shrunk into his coat a bit as your hand reached out and gently grabbed his face making him freeze as you made him turn his head this way and that to inspect for damage, at least his cut was healed now.
"Nothing broken?....Kaigaku?"
BUMPBUMPBUMP-
".....Fuck-"

Justice League (2011) #1-6 Readthrough
Sometimes you want to read a bad comic. And spoilers, Geoff Johns’ Justice League does manage to meet that bar. It is a bad sign that this was flagship book for New 52, because it doesn’t sell you on the quality of the line.
Tumblr media
The arc starts with an issue of Batman being hunted by the police while he chases after an alien criminal. And then Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) shows up because alien. The two heroes do not get along, and the alien uses a mysterious device to do a suicide bombing to stop the heroes. We then cut to Victor Stone, young football star, being sad. The two heroes go after Superman thinking that he can help with this mysterious alien situation.
And that is all that happens in Issue #1. You think that a launch of line would be big launch showing the power of heroes, but instead we get Green Lantern and Batman being dicks to each other, and a very paranoid DC universe to the new superheroes.
And Issue 2 manages to continue this weird paranoia from the citizens of the DCU by having The Flash (Barry Allen) being worried that the police are after him. But he doesn’t have time to worry because Superman is attacking Batman and Green Lantern. The fight is going poorly enough that Hal needed to phone a friend to get Supes to calm, and Flash goes quickly to calm everything down.
Tumblr media
Better heads manage to prevail, and the group decides to hide away to discuss the mysterious alien attacks. Meanwhile, Victor Stone terrible day continues with him getting his father to admit that he does not want his son to play football. And when things start to advance, the mysterious boxes activate which leads Victor to be seriously injured.
Issue #3 starts with some Wonder Woman moments, and while these moments are one the highlights (especially the scene where Wonder Woman eats ice cream for the first time) it does seem to out of character for Wonder Women. Geoff Johns writes her more like Thor, as ancient being going to modern day but is hungry for battle. Anyway, the aliens come to attack Wonder Woman and Washington DC as well.
Victor’s dad goes to work to save his son’s life, while in Metropolis swarms of the aliens (they’re Parademons) attack Superman’s group. And weird complaint but heroes are a bit kill crazy for something that they don’t know if they are intelligent beings or not. Anyways, Wonder Woman shows up to join the group in battle. The heroes try to figure out what is going on with attack and the pinging devices when Aquaman shows up.
In the efforts to save his son, Victor’s dad has injected him with experimental nanotechnology. This has the side of almost entirely covering Victor’s body in metal, making him a cyborg. Thankfully this gives Victor the ability to talk to computers and use high-tech weaponry like a sonic cannon. Which comes in handy when Parademons attack.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Aquaman makes a convincing argument that he should lead the group of heroes while also using his abilities to take out some more Parademons. But before much progress is made, the US military goes to attack both the Parademons and the assembled heroes. It does not go well for the military.
Cyborg is seen running from the stress of being more machine than man but the mysterious device teleports him to gathered heroes in Metropolis. And to make matters worse the pinging devices finally manage to accomplish their purpose. Darkseid is on Earth, and he is ready to conquer the planet.
Issue #5 starts with Darkseid quickly managing to capture Superman and have him beat the rest of the heroes. Green Lantern gets the worst of it with a badly broken arm. The moment seems hopeless for the world, so Batman steps up. Bats reveals to Hal that he is Bruce Wayne. Bruce says there is too much at stake, that Green Lantern has to step up and lead the rest of the heroes in battle against Darkseid. Batman has decided that his most goal will be to free Superman. That is harder than it seems for Bats because when searching for Superman he got transported to a hell planet.
Issue #6 starts with Darkseid walking through a wrecked Metropolis killing civilians. But then the Justice League work together and attack the evil god. Wonder Woman and Aquaman work together to stab Darkseid’s eye blinding him and stopping his Omega Beams from working. But Batman is having trouble freeing Superman from Darkseid’s henchmen.
Despite the injuries, Darkseid is still ready to fight the League. But the team gets good news when it turns out Cyborg can communicate with devices that brought Darkseid to Earth. He uses this connection to send the god and his army back to their home world. In the chaos of the arriving Darkseid, Batman frees Superman and the entire team fights Darkseid. With great effort Cyborg manages to close the portal and win the day for the heroes.
Tumblr media
The seven heroes bask in their victory and are awarded honors by the president. They figure that might work together again, if only to keep the police away. Thus the Justice League was born…
But every great hero needs an opponent. We see some shadow figures say that with the rise of superheroes, supervillains will rise up to oppose them. And another mysterious figure, Pandora, talks to long-time DC figure Phantom Stranger saying that she can use these new heroes. Pandora will break her curse one way or another.
And that is the start of The New 52 Justice League. Boy, that was long disappointing story to start an entire new book, run, and universe. It took 6 whole issues but overall, there was very little story throughout. There are some decent characters moments but I think the team should have gotten together sooner. The paranoia against heroes is just not good starting place for the DC Universe.
But to give a nice mark, Jim Lee sures makes some pretty art for the book. But even the art has some problems. The breakdowns feel kinda bad for this book. And everything is glossy.

The well never reopened, and they were never the same. He thought he would never live to see her again, she thought he, like everyone else from the feudal era, was dead. Time may pass, and people may change, but love is ageless. Twisted canon, if you squint. Complete.

Vices by WulfInTheForest (E)
Kagome’s moved on from losing Inuyasha… or at least that’s what she tells herself at night. A story about coping with the assumption that the love of your life is dead, and being fucking pissed when he shows back up. They say the highway to hell is paved with good intentions… Title and chapter titles are based off of the song "Vices" by Mothica.

Since You've Been Gone by WaterAshari (T)
"'Kagome?' He asked, eyes widening. He didn't even complain about being knocked down. Weird, but understandable, considering their history. She turned around to get a good look at him now that she was no longer in danger. If Inuyasha hadn't followed her through the well, and instead lived all these 500 years, then that certainly explained the visual changes. - or, part 37 of me putting couples separated by time into uncomfortable situations with satisfying reunions

I Shall Return for You My Love, On Christmas Day by @splendentgoddess (G)
Christmas is a time of miracles. Or at least, that's what Kagome always used to think, until she had all her hopes and dreams ripped away before her very eyes. But some miracles just take a little longer than others. Some miracles take 500 years. Canon alt-ending.
