I've followed Brandon Flynn on Instagram since his days on 13 Reasons and still do. I really don't pay too much attention to his posts like that anymore, just usually keep scrolling. But today I saw he shared a story of his friend who recorded him(Brandon) while they both were in a boat less than ten feet away from an alligator! And i instantly thought of Misha!😭

Round Three Round Up!
In Round Three we were seeing double as 6 out of our 8 pairs were put against their alternative selves and we asked why not pit two bad bitches against each other ?
In the only match-up where the newer version won out we lost another one of our tournament's Mr Knightleys as you declared that riding through rain, willing to ride through worse was not enough to win your hearts - instead he must have a proper understanding of muslin! And so Mr Tilney (2007) became our first Quarter-finalist.
Mr Knightley (1996) was not alone in taking his leave of us as your votes decided that Johnny Flynn's Mr Knightley (2020) was too blonde badly done compared to Mr Knightley (2009) and must go!
Mr Elliot (2022) will be likely soon spotted in town with a Mrs Clay on his arm as though he may have proved himself the hottest of the Persuasion (2022) men he was no match for Colonel Brandon (1995). Joining him in bad-boy exile is Willoughby (2008) who could not beat the man best known as Emma Thompson's husband leaving Willoughby (1995) as the last libertine standing.
In another win for Sense and Sensibility (1995) Edward Ferrars (1995) proved that while a Wet Shirt scene written by Andrew Davies might have worked once, Dan Stevens chopping wood in the rain was too blonde not enough to prevail against Hugh Grant and the power of being married to Emma Thompson in any universe, real or imagined.
Captain Wentworth (1995) also sailed through against his 2007 counterpart as the voters told us once again that they hated blonde men if it was made in '95 that man was staying alive for another round and so Captain Wentworth (2007) becomes only a gallant Captain Wentworth, in a small paragraph at one corner of the newspapers.
In one of our tightest run polls that went back and forth several times it was Bingley Vs Bingley but in another win for the '95 contingent - the curly hair clinched it and Mr Bingley (1995) proved the victor.
And of course I must end with the biggest poll of the week, breaching the walls of our little tournament to be voted on by 28,987 tumblr users, the poll that ended in a most well deserved 50/50 split, Mr Darcy Vs Mr Darcy. How could anyone vote for THAT Mr Darcy you yelled at each other - HAND FLEX! WET SHIRT! you cried! But when push came to shove despite 14,484 of you declaring that you loved him most ardently 14,503 of you had decided he was the last man on earth who you could ever be prevailed upon to marry and left that wet cat out in the rain. And so, though we offer him a most cordial curtsey we must say goodbye to a very worthy loser Mr Darcy (2005).
Thank you for all the excellent propaganda sent in - I will be taking a days break before putting up the Quarter-final polls, giving you until Thursday to send in any propaganda you want included on the main poll posts and me time to add it! But for now we must once again say...
Farewell Gentlemen!

30-Fic Rec Challenge
I did this last year.
Here’s my list for 30 recommended X-Files fanfic. I’ll try to not repeat on the authors.
and they are, of course, all MSR.
1. Currently reading: Genius by Kipler. Summary: The story of a young girl who disappears and returns smarter than she was before.
2. A short fic you like: the truth or a Pomeranian by seek_its_opposite (@seek-its-opposite) Summary: It occurs to them both too late that nice suburban couples don’t have dogs named after Melville characters.
3. A novel-length fic you like: Puppets by Madeleine Partous Summary: None provided by the author.
4. An AU fic that you like: By the Dim and Flaring Lamps by sunflowerseedsandscience  ( @sunflowerseedsandscience) Summary: Captain Fox Mulder, the abolitionist son of a Virginia plantation owner and slaveholder, has turned his back on his family and everything he's ever known in order to fight for the Union, rather than joining the ranks of the Confederacy alongside his fellow Virginians. He runs off to Pennsylvania to join a newly-formed regiment in the spring of 1863, and there, he meets and quickly befriends the enigmatic young Daniel Scully, a private under his command. Private Scully's steady shooting and bravery in battle have proven him to be a far more capable soldier than his age would suggest. But in the days immediately following Gettysburg, Mulder discovers that Private Scully is hiding a secret, one that could change their friendship- and Mulder's entire life- in ways he couldn't possibly imagine.
5. A fic you like that has a person’s name in the title: The Divine Professor M. by Flynn Summary: "They exist as separate individuals .... but they aren't truly complete until they're together."
6. A fic that made you feel nostalgic: Energy and Light by Oracle Summary: our girls have vanished, each one on a different night. Each one by the light of a full moon. Is it just a coincidence?
7. A fic that made you cried: 7 Days in May by prufrock's love Summary: It might be the end of the world. Fox Mulder had a psychic vampire on the loose, a six-year-old son in tow, a ton of emotional baggage, and an FBI budget, but at least he wasn't dead. Mulder felt things were looking up - romantically and apocalyptically.
8. A fic you like that’s written by an author that’s passed away: Past is Prologue by Brandon D. Ray Summary: An encounter with two strangers changes Dana Scully's life forever. Pre-XF.
9. A fic you like that has a title of less than three words: Ghosts by Anjou Summary: An early December 2002 tale, originally supposed to be a drabble, totally spun out of control. A post-series 'what if' where Mulder was irrevocably altered, replicants were the new reality, and the clock was ticking down to 2012.
10.A post-episode fic you like: A Less Certain World by Sarah Segretti Summary: A fragile and frightened Mulder, traumatized by the events of "Biogenesis," turns to an unexpected source for help.
11.A fic that you wish to be televise: The Boy on the Beach by cecily_sass ( (@cecilysass) Summary: One moment she was sitting in the chair. Her chin up, her expression ice. And the next moment she was gone.No one had to tell Mulder something had gone wrong. No one had to tell him the difference between having Scully and lacking Scully. In that distinction he was expert.
12.A cute fic: Home, home by onpaperfirst Summary: post-the truth, pre-iwtb, weirdo domesticitywhere seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day
13.A fic that made your heart raced: Miracle by Tesla Summary: None provided by the author.
14.A scary fic: then the bomb by all_these_ghosts (@all-these-ghosts) Summary: "Do you ever worry about the end of the world, Scully?" "Yes," she said. "But I don't think it's going to happen fast." She would remember that, later.
15.A fic you like that has the word love in the title: Love's Savage Sea Spray by MaybeAmanda & Foxsong & LaVa, Jacquie Summary: The dashing Lt. Fox Mulder saves the Lady Dana Scully from the  lustful clutches of the pirate Captain Skinner and other assorted meanies.
16. One of the first fics you remember really liking: Dumbo by Chimerical Chameleon Summary: Mulder's obsession...(it's not what you think it is)
17. A good casefile: In a Flash by TCS 1121 Summary: In a flash, life changes.
18. A fic you like that has a color in the title: Gold and Silver by dreamingofscully (@dreamingofscully) Summary: Scully does something spontaneous to honor her sister’s memory.
19. A fic you that you’ve read several times: No More Demons by Penny Daza Summary: Mulder and Scully find a way to keep the nightmares away. 20. A fic in your ‘to-read’ list: Love In All The Wrong Places by SisterSpooky1013 (@sisterspooky1013 ) Summary: Mulder and Scully try their hand at online chat rooms, and each meet a compelling stranger who is perhaps no stranger after all.
21. A *classic* fic that you’ve not read but have been meaning to read: Memorial Day by Brandon D. Ray and shannono Summary: The Date is here ...
22. A fic you read as a WIP or the author did not finish: Speechless by Anjou Summary: A road trip with Mulder and Scully; a trip inside their heads and hearts.  While on assignment to A.D. Kersh on a seemingly innocuous case in Nebraska, Mulder and Scully reflect on their relationship and its progress. Slots into the US6 timeline post-Tithonus, and assumes a general level of knowledge of all preceding action and, unlike what we saw onscreen, there is sufficient time for Scully to have healed between cases.
23. A fic you’d recommend to a Phile who doesn’t read fic: 20 by syntax6 Summary: 20 years in the life of Mulder and Scully, one year at a time.
24. A dark fic: After the Colors Fade by Deborah L. Wells   Summary: Mulder must fulfill a desperate promise he made to Scully. Which could cost them both their lives.
25. A fic you like that has an element of time in the title: if I had to perish twice  by seek_its_opposite Summary: He thinks maybe they’re working backwards to something like new love.
26. A fic you like that was written before 2000: Tinfoil by Loch Ness Summary: None provided by the author.
27. A fic you read a while ago that stayed in your head: Objects Are Closer Than They Appear by Wayward Summary: Arcadia post-ep story
28. A fic that you wish was longer, or hope for sequels: Knock by Gnatalie Summary: "They were a perfect match, since neither of them was getting what they really wanted."
29. The last fic you finished: The Great Outdoors by agoodwoman Summary:Picking up a few weeks after Planes Trains and Automobiles left off, Mulder and Scully have met the luckiest man alive and faced off with Pfaster again. This story begins after Mulder and Scully decide to pack a bag and get out of her apartment. Except they don't spend another weekend in bed together - they deal with the demons from Pfaster and the wake of his turmoil in their lives. They also, of course, get sent on another assignment to The Great Outdoors.
30. A fic you want to recommend just because: The Fox Mulder Phonetic Alphabet by storybycorey (@storybycorey) Summary:The ABC’s, as told by Fox Mulder.
**Bonus: Light Don't Sleep by wonderland (@amplifyme) Summary: " ... I don't want this to end. I want to stay like this forever. Just the three of us, right here in this bed. Not a care in the world." REASON: I have a feeling not many people have read this. But it’s so cute.

[BRANDON FLYNN, CISMAN, HE/HIM ] ever heard about LEE BENNETT? Out here on the road, they have a reputation of being DEDICATED, SINCERE but also NONCHALANT, SELF SACRIFICING, no wonder they’re called THE LONE RANGER. According to local legend, they’re TWENTY-THREE and when they pull up to camp not a soul can mistake the sound of Elton John’s “GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD” following them. Some say they carry  A GOLDEN CRUCIFIX AROUND HIS NECK, A NAPKIN WITH HIS MOM’S HANDWRITING, AND A SLOWLY DEFLATING FOOTBALL. and have been traveling with THE COVEN.   [ro, 21, she/they, est]
full name: lee david bennett gender/pronouns: cismale, he/him age: twenty-three birthday: july 4th, 1962 astrology: cancer sun, leo moon, gemini rising, gemini mercury, leo venus, taurus mars hometown: elkhart, indiana orientation: homo
𝐀𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐒
fireflies in jars, engraved lighters, flannels in every color, calloused hands, the value of hardwork, cheap cologne and even cheaper cigarettes, listening to football games on the radio, worshipping springsteen, the light above the kitchen stove, distant trains chugging, a dirt smudged face, grass tickling skin, climbing trees with ease, bad handwriting, reading at a third grade level, redneck communism, but not knowing it's called that, treating everyone as family, shaking people's hands, good manners, all american smile, and unspeakable fear.
𝐁𝐈𝐎
tw: religion, homophobia, molestation/pedophilia, drugs.
The Bennett Family were simple folk from a small town in Northern Indiana. Elkhart was the type of town that had high school athlete’s faces plastered on posters around the supermarket. It was the type of boring, dreary town that nobody ever left. The Bennetts lived right outside of town on a farm with every animal imaginable and crops that sprawled further than the eye could see. Their house was small, fixed up with a cellar, a few bedrooms, and one bathroom.  Ricky Bennett had inherited land from his father, who inherited it from his Father, who inherited it from his father and so on. It was a family tradition that the eldest son kept up the farm and Lee’s entire upbringing he anticipated that to be his future. However, from the moment his little brother Bo was born, Lee was more concerned with what it meant to be an older brother. Four years his senior, Lee was happy to find a companion in Bo instead of cows and chickens. Even if he didn’t have the words to conceptualize it in 1965, he promised to himself he’d always protect Bo, show him the ropes of just about anything he could, pass on whatever knowledge he had, and most importantly Lee tried to teach him that it was okay to cry.
Lee was always sensitive. Ricky wasn’t around a lot, he mostly kept to himself out in the fields and kept his commentary to grumbles at the breakfast table. So it was mostly Brenda, a stay at home mother with a newspaper advice column, who raised the boys. She didn’t encourage Lee’s sensitivity, in fact, she was one of those catholic types who tried to drill into her boys that if something was bad, they weren’t to talk about it. Sweeping things under the rug with a charming smile was her specialty. But Lee couldn’t help it. He was soft, he was too soft for all of it sometimes he felt. Like a true catholic, even at age 8 he felt such tremendous guilt about it that when he’d go to confessions with his Uncle Joe– or Father Joe as he preferred to be called at church– he would confess this weakness. Lee felt bad, Uncle Joe was always telling him how that needed to be adjusted, that boys were meant to be strong. This spiraled into more visits to his house outside of church. The visits turned into sleepovers. Then the sleepovers turned into Uncle Joe creeping into Lee’s room in the middle of the night. That was one time he refused to cry. Instead, Lee pretended to sleep. It was after that he learned that sometimes in life he had to pretend to get through things. Lee would pretend about a lot of things after that. Loving God and loving girls, mostly.
By the time he was a sophomore, he was the starting quarterback at Elkhart High School. Thanks to the mediocre Senior who got a concussion in Lee’s freshman year, he was able to step in and rapidly gained popularity. He went out on dates with girls, got out of doing his assignments because adults loved him so much, and everyone in town knew his name thanks to that rocket-like arm of his. At first Lee had some trouble adjusting to this new role he’d been placed in. Sure, it was nice when he got a pass on the schoolwork he always struggled with, and it was great always being met with a friendly face. But none of it felt real and more importantly, after sleeping with a couple of girls, he knew that wasn’t real either. Lee remembered to pretend. His anger wasn’t something he couldn’t pretend away though. He blamed his uncle and he blamed God for making him this way. He got into fights on the field and got suspended from his first and only game. Sophomore year was rough, but that summer his sixteenth birthday rolled around and on the Fourth of July he used his money he’d saved from his job at Al’s grocery store to buy the green 1965 Ford truck with the bench seat. Mr.Iverson gave him a good deal and that very same day Lee was driving down to Indianapolis to go to his very first gay bar. He wouldn’t ever forget the loud music and how nobody cared that everyone was different. It was 1977 the first time Lee felt comfortable in his own skin.
The rest of high school continued like a dream. He carried on pretending, he got decent enough grades thanks to favoritism, he kept going to Indianapolis, and he even got into college at Notre Dame because of football. That came crashing down senior year in some kind of cyclical injury to his knee. It didn’t seem worth it to try and play again. But that was fine, college was a pipe dream anyhow. Ricky was getting older and soon enough he’d have to take over the farm. It was also in his senior year that he came out to Bo, who didn’t take it well at all. Lee recalls how he wept and threw up and ached for his brother. After that, they weren’t close, Lee couldn’t keep tabs on him, but he could tell something was up. It was the summer of 1980, a year after Lee graduated high school. He’d been learning how to keep up with the farm in more formal ways for the past year since college was out of the question. It was the great scandal that summer  when a local drug ring got busted. He could clock the guilt in Bo’s eyes from a mile away when they talked about it at the dinner table. Immediately, Lee was ready to take the fall. He saw this as a final gesture to protect his brother. Bo was just a kid. He had a whole life to live. And what did Lee have? A busted knee and a farm to inherit? So, he promised Bo that he was going to make it go away. It was the first sincere conversation they’d had in years. Lee had accepted his fate and by the time he pulled up to the police station to confess a couple days later, he found Bo was already there. In the end, he got a sentence that would last him into adulthood.
Unable to live with himself and unable to stand  his hometown, Lee took to the road. He didn’t know what he was supposed to be looking for, but he knew he had to look elsewhere. That was about five years ago now. He spent his first couple of summers up in Montana herding sheep so he could get some money for the rest of the year. He met plenty of rubber tramps as he wandered, heard their stories, bought people beers and tried to have conversations. As charming as he was, he never said much, and he never stayed with any one person for long. Eventually, he started traveling home every six months to visit Bo in prison. Once it stopped hurting. He had his routines. For the most part though, he tipped his hat to them and moseyed along. That was until he met The Prom Queen and The High Priestess. They were definitely an odd pair, but The Prom Queen’s kid struck him in a place that he couldn’t resist. It was like he was looking at Bo’s face. He deserved to have a guy around, even if he didn’t doubt that he loved his Mom and the High Priestesses’ quirks. The two have grown on him and Lee couldn’t imagine himself leaving. It isn’t lost on him the way The Prom Queen looks at him, and as guilty as he feels for it, he lets her, Sometimes he even feeds into it, because it’s safer that way. Besides, she isn’t so bad. Lee thinks she’s a great mom and sometimes great company. The High Priestess, he quickly learned, was a package deal. Her religion is beyond his born catholic comprehension, but he appreciates her perspective and her acts of kindness. Lee sees both of them for what they are, and as reserved as he can be, he isn’t so sure he’s ready to leave the pair just yet.

BLOGTOBER 10/8/2022: HELLRAISER (2022)
Tumblr media
I think this movie is shining a light on the difference between how horror fans judge modern movies versus older ones, and perhaps especially versus the films of their childhood. I feel like I'm seeing a lot of responses from viewers who were immediately hung up on the glibly-deployed elements of addiction and recovery in HELLRAISER 2022, and so found themselves unable to engage with anything else in the movie. Personally…I just didn't take it so personally, and it occurred to me that I've never heard anyone complain about the ludicrous portrayal of mental illness and autism in HELLRAISER II, or the specter of incest that haunts HELLRAISER '87, and I could easily branch out into other much-adored movies that are not too socially-just, but that remain cozily swaddled in nostalgia, loved and forgiven. Maybe there's a feeling that newer movies should know better, coming as they do from an enlightened era of being fully informed about the suffering of others via the educational power of the internet, and therefore taking everything as seriously as possible. Maybe that makes modern viewers feel like it's too late to correlate the scourge of addiction with the quest for experience sought through the lament configuration. I mean, everybody has a right to their reactions and I think it's culturally healthy for even a really great work of art to take a few slings and arrows, to keep us all off autopilot. But I think that holding the human grist in HELLRAISER to the standards of neorealist drama is sort of missing the point of a movie like this—which is, of course, the cenobites.
Tumblr media
And the cenobites are great! Director David Bruckner gives good monster yet again, having delivered a fabulous beast in 2017's THE RITUAL, and true to the spirit of 2020's THE NIGHT HOUSE, he shows a refined understanding of infernal geometry. David S. Goyer joins the screenwriters of the latter movie, Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, to set up a plot about a rich pervert (Goran Visnjic) who has a typically disappointing transaction with the cenobites, and so he manipulates a group of young dirtbags into helping him negotiate a new deal. I guess there are never enough survivors of cenobite commerce for word to get around that they only offer a monkey's paw type of thing, but I don't really care if the characters make a lot of dumb decisions so long as the tradeoff is always that I get to see cenobites.
Tumblr media
The story centers on recovering addict Riley (Odessa A'zion, who I just have to mention is one of Pamela Adlon's kids!) who discovers the lament configuration during a robbery planned by her sleazy boyfriend Trevor (Drew Starkey). Riley's lapse of judgement allows the cenobites to make off with her brother (Brandon Flynn), and so Riley and her friends pursue the secrets of the puzzle box to try to save him. While HELLRAISER '22 has been described as a remake and a reboot and a reimagining in various quarters, David Bruckner has been clear that it's, like, just another Hellraiser story. There are a lot of books and comics and movies about all the different people who fall prey to the box's enticements, and it's totally reasonable to just make another one of those based on the series' abundantly flexible premise. Actually, while my husband and I were watching the movie, we started compulsively riffing on all the different things you could do: First we felt like Riley's misadventure with her unlucky friends was just like an episode of Search Party, which made us think about how funny it would be to introduce the lament configuration in other Bad People sitcoms like Seinfeld, or Curb Your Enthusiasm, or It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and then before long we were imagining a whole season of The Rehearsal where Nathan Fielder tries to get a series of unfortunate rubes to open the box for him.
Tumblr media
What HELLRAISER '22 offers is not grand insights into human nature, but fun experiments with the basic conceit. The lament configuration is one of the greatest designs in horror to be sure, and yet somehow nobody has ever gone into detail about why it assumes so many shapes. I normally do NOT want a bunch of anal retentive rules and dry explanations added to my horror movies; I find that the less mysterious things are, the less emotionally effective they are. In this case, the coding of each of the box's configurations as representing a different human longing both honors the original lore, and adds complimentary flavors—and speaking of flavor, I'd love it if someone would realize my idea for a breakfast cereal with freeze-dried marshmallow configurations. But anyway, the love of design and its expressive capabilities is laced through the whole movie, from its inventive architecture, to its fabulous new cenobites. A lot of love went into crafting these things, and Jamie Clayton easily earns her place in the expanded scheme of things. Viewers who are too distracted by HELLRAISER '22's tangential references to the real-life horrors have my sympathy, because if you can watch around the corners of that issue, there is much to enjoy.

I mean some girls often stan good looking guys in hopes that they'll get to date them, but most of them just are just in awe with their looks or personality, talent and factors like being happy knowing the person they stan is single and is into girls, I am no one to speak on behalf of a whole fandom, just describing what I think. I kinda get the intention behind teenage fangirls not being interested in Noah anymore, some of them tho, Iike I imagine some being upset about it, it's just me tho.
I think.. I think I get what you're tryna say but yeah it's just their choice as long as they don't turn on him for being gay. I remember had a huge crush on Brandon Flynn after I watched first few eps of 13 reasons why then I found out he's gay I was like okayy let's say I was a Lil upset even tho I knew I would never get to date him if he were straight or bi or anything so I think I get what you're tryna say.

a list of actors and actresses I admire based off of a performance part 1:
Heath Ledger (Joker:dark knight)
I think you can predict the type of things I have to say on this role, but I can’t leave this one out. Heath Ledger really ran so all future actors, who play the role of joker could walk. I know many people were skeptical on his ability to take on a villains role, but he really out did himself. He embodied what I picture the Joker to be in many aspects.
He chose the route of method acting, which I’ve learnt through psychology is very impactful to a person, mentally and psychically. But from the end product that we get to see in the film, it’s obvious how well he prepped for it. Even little things like, licking his lips throughout scenes bring the character together. It’s so sad that he never got to see the film after it was finished, but I really think he did an outstanding job playing such a twisted and complex villain.
Brandon Flynn (Justin Foley:13 reasons why):
For those who have seen the whole show all the way up to the final season, you know what I mean when I say that his character brought out a lot of emotion. The complexity of Justin, is something that we slowly discover more of throughout each season. His journey with addiction and an unstable home life makes him such an important character to watch. I felt throughout the whole thing, that his emotions were so raw and real, that you often forgot you were watching a show. He also brought light to real situations and circumstances that people live through. I’d love to see him in other shows, to see how he creates another role.
Maisie Williams: (Arya Stark: Game of Thrones):
I’ll give you fair warning that I haven’t actually seen every season and episode of game of thrones. But I have watched enough compilation videos of individual characters that I have a pretty good idea of their storylines. I personally found the character of Arya very intriguing and unique. I think Maisie played her well enough to catch many fans attention and made her such a powerful persona to watch. Her build up of strength over the seasons was empowering and made her a strong female character to route for.
I also think those moments of revenge were like icing on the cake for viewers. For die hard fans I imagine the episode where she gets revenge for the red wedding was a satisfying touch. I know I found it to be and I haven’t even watched the full show. Props to Maisie for giving us a strong female role to favour.
This is only 3 out of the many performances I was blown away by from different actors and actresses. Of course these are all my opinion and not everyone has to agree, but I just wanted to share some thoughts with you again!

“I mean, who better then you?”
You scoff, crossing your arms over your chest as you shake your head at Ani. You could not believe this girl; I mean, who did she really think she was? Butting herself into business that was clearly not hers and assuming things about people... First Jessica and now you.
You clench your jaw, trying to bite back your tears and ignore the many pairs of eyes on you. They’re all looking at you like some sort of criminal, like they don’t even know who are you are. I mean, Clay, a boy you’ve known since you were in diapers is looking at you with such question and doubt and you swear, you’ve never felt like such utter shit before. You just want to curl into yourself and become non-existent, that way, they would stop staring you like this...
“Who do you think you are?” You hiss, eyes narrowing dangerously at Ani. “You don’t know me, you don’t know anything! And who are you to say that--”
“He raped you, didn’t he?” Your lips part at Ani’s blunt statement, shoulders falling as takes a step towards you. If you had felt like you had any control before, you certainly don’t anymore. You suddenly feel small, cornered by this girl and your own friends, lips parting in disbelief. “Hit you? Drugged you? And didn’t he send those photos of you around the school--”
“Ani,” Clay calls, taking a step forward, his brows furrowed in concern. “Come on, just slow down--”
“No,” Ani dismisses him, shrugging her hand off of her shoulder. She keeps her eyes dead on your own, never wavering. “If you did it, Y/N, just admit it and we’ll help you. We want to help you. But we can’t help you if you don’t admit to what you did.”
“Why are you acting like you already know it’s me?” You question, eyes widening in disbelief as your gaze flickers from Ani’s own to Clay. “I mean, what proof do you have that it’s actually me?”
Ani turns to Clay, and he frowns. “We heard about how he confronted on your way home from school that one day, tried to--”
Clay is suddenly interrupted by the sound of the door opening. All three heads snap in the direction of the door, finding Justin who halts in surprise at the sight of you three. At first, he’s just surprised, but then confusion slowly fades into his expression when he takes in the situation before himself. The hostile atmosphere, the concern on Clay’s face, the determination in Ani’s own and the way you stand there, curled into yourself, tears in your eyes, clearly upset.
Justin instantly knows somethings wrong.
“What the hell is going on here?”
“J-Justin,” Clay stammers, taking a step towards the boy. But before he can begin to explain, Ani speaks up.
“Y/N killed Bryce.”
Your lips part in disbelief, eyes widening.
Justin’s expression mimics your own, however, instead of tears, there’s just anger. “What the fuck are you talking about?” Justin bellows, rushing forwards you. He moves towards you, meeting your eyes briefly before stepping in front of you, a tactic to block you from the scrutinizing eyes of Ani. He glares at her a moment before turning to Clay; “Clay, what the hell is this? Some sort of interrogation?”
“No, it’s just, we... we just--”
“You just what?” Justin interrupted harshly, “jumped to some fucking conclusion?”
“Bryce raped her.” Ani states again, just as bluntly as before. You can’t help it, but you flinch at her words. “He beat on her, sent that photo of her around school. She has the motive to do it. And then, Bryce confronted her a little bit ago after school, trying to apologize. From what I heard,” Ani’s eyes drift back to you, “it didn’t end well.”
“It didn’t end well because the asshole raped her,” Justin reminds, voice pitching in anger. “I mean, what the hell are you guys even thinking? Bryce didn’t a lot of shitty things to a lot of people, and just because Y/N was one of them, doesn’t mean she’s the one who killed him.”
“It doesn’t explain where she was the night he went missing.”
You finally step forward, “I was with Justin if you must know. I was still upset about Bryce confronting me, he calmed me down.”
“Justin?” Clay questions.
“Fuck, Jensen,” Justin scoffs, “she’s telling the truth.”
Clay turns to Ani, who still seems doubtful. “Ani,” Clay calls, pulling her attention on him. “Justin’s right, we were crazy to think it could be Y/N.”
She hesitates, “i’m... i’m sorry, I just--”
Justin moves towards you, placing his arm around you. “I think it’s best you leave.”
“I’ll drive you home,” Clay offers, obviously still feeling guilty. He turns to you, “i’m... i’m sorry, Y/N. It was wrong of me to accuse you like that.”
“It’s fine,” you whisper, avoiding his gaze. “Don’t worry about it.”
One more guilty look Justin’s way, Clay pulls Ani away.
Once they’re gone, Justin turns to you. His hands fall on your cheeks, cupping them. “Are you okay? Jesus, shit, you should’ve texted me. I would’ve stopped them a lot sooner.” Justin rambles, shaking his head, “I mean, I knew Ani was... determined, but I didn’t think she’d go after you like that. And fuck, I didn’t know she was being such a bad influence on Clay and...--”
“Justin?”
Justin halts his ramblings, meeting your eyes.
“You believe me right? Believe that I didn’t kill Bryce?”
“Of course,” Justin says without doubt, wiping away your tears with his thumbs.. “Without a doubt I believe you.”
And something about that makes you feel a whole lot better.
