"HOUSES TO BE CLOSED," Hamilton Spectator. November 26, 1913. Page 10. --- Considering them unsanitary, the board of health yesterday decided to order closed the following houses on Caroline street north, owned by M. Levy: Nos. 225, 227, 229, 231, 235, 239, 241. It was reported that the houses were in an undesirable condition and that the board's previous order for them to be cleaned up had been only partly observed.
It was ordered that a sewer be built on Charlton avenue, between Ferguson avenue and Aurora street.

youtube shorts is just tiktok without being on the app the amount of "i'm a [qualification] and [misinformation]" could make one turn their skin inside-out in protest. "i'm a board-certified OB-GYN & it's only been about the last hundred years that women have actually experienced menopause. We didn't live long enough to experience it" how can you be so incredibly wrong about something so integral to your practice. King of the Hittites Hattusilis III was told in 1250 BCE that his sister was too old to reproduce at age 50+. Aristotle wrote in the 4th century BCE that women stopped menstruating between ages 40 to 50, common menopause ages today still. i cannot begin to tell you how 4th century & 1250 BCE don't really count as "the last hundred years" unless that -s is doing a lot of heavy lifting. waiter waiter more misinformation laws.

It just occurred to me that I’ve regained enough foods in my diet that I can use King Arthur’s All Purpose Gluten Free flour again.
Which means... I can make puff pastry again. This also, in theory, means, that if I can handle the yeast, I can make gluten-free croissants.

"BOARD STOPS OUSTER FROM CELLAR HOME," Toronto Star. May 27, 1942. Page 2. ---- Halts Eviction of Family of Six From Condemned Basement ---- "I suggest you leave them there, until you or they find suitable accommodations." Con. Duncan told G. Pointon of the health department, in board of control today. Members of the board concurred and by their action saved a coal driver, his sick wife and four children. from eviction from their basement home tomorrow.
The board also endorsed a further suggestion by Con. Duncan that eviction proceedings be stopped and one by Con. Hamilton that the situation be reviewed in three months time.
The coal driver wrote to the board as follows: "The department of health have given me notice to vacate by Thursday. May 28, basement rooms occupied by myself. wife and four children, since December 6 last, with the alternative of eviction. My landlord is subject to prosecution in the event of his failure to evict." All He Could Find "I wish to state that these premises are the only shelter with sufficient space I have been able to secure in a year's search. That is. of course, at a rental within my means. "In view of the fact that my wife is suffering from arthritis and severe nervous complaint. the question is raised as to whether the best interests of public health will be served by the strain and exposure attendant on an eviction. "As all our to department of health. Mr. Snyder, prosecutor, and officials at Queen's Park have failed to postpone proceedings, I am asking the board of control to attempt correction of this absurdly contradictory situation before my wife's health is further adversely affected. "Since I am forced through the shortage of house accommodation to live in condemned quarters, it is obvious that I cannot afford to contest court action, and therefore I ask your earnest consideration, for which I thank you. P.S.: I am employed as a coal driver and pay rent of $15 per month," the coal driver stated. Mr. Pointon told the board the health department had objected to the place because it was "very dark and damp, it lacked proper ventilation, is a health hazard. We one case of throat trouble there before this family moved in." "Would they be better on the street?" asked Con. Duncan. "No, we can't put them on the street. It's a question where the place is not suitable. It's a cellar," said Mr. Pointon. "This is merely another illustration of the urgent need for housing in this city and I hope the mayor will be successful," Con, Duncan remarked. "It's a terrible place," said Con. Saunders. "My view is that the city ought to take steps at once to provide accommodation for people on relief and those in the low salary brackets" said Con. Duncan.
"How can the city do that?" asked Con. Hamilton. Officials to Report Con. Duncan moved that the commissioner of welfare and the medical officer of health report on the number of places in Toronto not satisfactory for living and been condemned, and that these two officials confer with the city solicitor and the city architect on suggestions for improving the housing situation. He also moved that these four city formulate some scheme to get people out of condemned places and into permanent or temporary dwellings suitable for human habitation. The report is to be prepared by next Wednesday. Members of the board concurred.
