Levy: Nos. 225, 227, 229, 231, 235, 239, 241. It was reported that the houses were in an undesirable condition and that the board's previous order for them to be cleaned up had been only partly observed.

It was ordered that a sewer be built on Charlton avenue, between Ferguson avenue and Aurora street.

I hope it brings everyone joy to know the Feline Community Network (the group I got Miles through) have moved to a nicer, more visible location with more room for the cats (: there's even little windows for them to sit in and watch people!!!! They were at risk of closing in 2023, but I'm glad they're doing well enough financially to keep the work up, especially as we move into the colder months.

#i wanna start volunteering there in 2024 #i miss miles a lot but i think working with cats will help maybe #theyre a no kill rescue shelter that works specifically to take care of EVERY cat in the Northwest Indiana region #they have a special section of their business for cats that will NEVER be adopted out #but wont be killed in shelters!! #for clarification: they work with local veterinarians to ensure qol #and if the cat is fatally ill/suffering #they do proceed with euthanasia #but for cats with 'behavioral' issues or otherwise healthy but unadoptable cats: they get to live at the sanctuary!! #like theres a chronic bed pisser there (Poundcake 💜) that was gonna be put down #but they were like 'yeah we'll just wash his bed every single day. its fine. we will make sure hes not in unsanitary living conditions' #but they didnt euthanize him bc like. hes a bed pisser bc he got declawed on top of having Not Great Owners #and although he doesn't do it as often he still cant be adopted #but i love going there and seeing him and all his friends (: #they do let u just show up to hangout with the cats btw. its like a free cat cafe

im so excited to move out in 2 weeks. i literally pay my rent for the purpose of sleeping in my room and using the bathroom. i wake up at 6am to leave the flat and stay out as long as is physically possible for me that day, returning between 10pm-12am. i cannot and do not cook or use the upstairs bathroom because they have not been cleaned in months. my two flatmates have left month old food waste in the sink and on the counter. the entire top floor smells like decay. i made the decision to stop washing their dishes 2 months ago after being relied on for cleaning up after them. those dishes are still there. the flatmate i share my bathroom with has no toothbrush, soap, shampoo, conditioner or personal hygiene items. i am routinely woken up by him loudly playing games at 3am. i cannot wait to leave this hellhole.

Thinking about it i realize I've been abnormal about hygiene for super long. I still feel gross if I don't spend like an hour or two scrubbing every cm of my body and normal body stuff (sweating, face oil, etc) makes me shut down and avoid people because I'm terrified they'll think im gross. I remember passing out from heat exhaustion and getting really anxious that the emt could probably tell I was sweaty. I feel extremely anxious in my own skin because it is skin and skin will sweat and break out and that makes me panic so bad

Throughout the first five months of the war, both my big sister and my sister in law had been pregnant. They had to endure constant displacement and unspeakable horrors on top of pregnancy discomforts. The few times I was able to reach my sister, she would keep praying not to go into labor before that nightmarish reality ended.

Sadly, things did not go her way. The war was raging when she gave birth to beautiful baby Ossama, and it still is ongoing. Almost at the same time my brother and his wife had sweet baby twin girls, Ritaj and Rital. The three little angels are rocked to sleep by the sound of bombs and buzzing drones instead of lullabies. Due to the unsanitary conditions in their tent and formula scarcity, the newborns have been constantly suffering from acute respiratory infections as well as slow weight gain. The only medical care they were getting was that of an overcrowded field hospital with limited resources, and even that is now denied to them as my family has been forcibly evacuated again from Rafah to Khan Yunis where nothing is left but rubble.

As you may well know, many babies in Gaza are lost while waiting for consideration. The doctors previously insisted that the little ones would fail to thrive and fully recover if they stayed in the same unhealthy environment.

Despite everything, these babies are a source of hope and strength for us. Please don't let them fade away. My family is barely holding on for their sake and that of their older brothers and sisters.

We would be forever grateful for any kind of support.

These are Omar(2) and Salah(5), Bilal's nephews. 8 months ago, they were enjoying the warmth of their home and being pampered by their parents and everyone in the family. The pictures below are from Omar's first birthday. Bilal told me how he was the one who prepared everything for the surprise party. He was,then, so excited to gather the whole family and give Omar a memorable first birthday and bring joy to everybody.

Now, Omar and Salah are going through hardships no child should be experiencing. They are surrounded by rubble and unsanitary conditions wherever they go; not to mention the random bombings that threaten their lives every moment of every day. Omar took his first steps while being displaced in a tent in Rafah. Imagine your baby learning to walk in a refugee camp under the constant buzzing of drones! The children and the whole family had to endure the cold winter and being drenched by rain in their flimsy tent, and now they have to go through the unbearable heat in the same inhumane circumstances. As if all this suffering wasn't enough, the occupation is currently asking everyone in Rafah to evacuate again, even the hospitals!

The survival of Omar, Salah, and the whole family in now more than ever at stake. Bilal has been in Germany for a year or so now. The thought that he might never get to see his beloved nephews again haunts him every day.
