You asked for it, and so you shall receive some Bela angst!

You looked around the council room, feeling lost in the celebration happening. Even though the result of Bela Dimiterescu winning was obvious, the celebration was in full swing. Speaking of the winner, you look around for her, intending to congratulate her. All you could spot instead was Miranda looking at you with a curious and upset expression. You choose to ignore her, still upset at her recent rude behaviour towards you.

You feel a tap on your shoulder. You turn around and find a serious faced Bela Dimiterescu before you. The new student council president you were searching for. You haven't really gotten to know her a whole lot, but from what you've seen, the tall blonde woman is a no nonsense person who is obsessed with work. And yet, every time you lay your eyes on her, you feel there's something more to her.

Just like right now, especially when Bela Dimiterescu of all people is smiling faintly towards you, the serious expression long gone.

"Were you searching for me?"

You gulp. For some reason, the word always got stuck in your throat.

You swallowed thickly, congratulating her instead.

"Ah, yes. I just wanted to congratulate you."

In answer, the Council President surprisingly offered you her hand.

"How about congratulations with a dance?"

You could feel Miranda glaring daggers at your back. You know just how possessive Headmistress could be over you. Frankly speaking, you don't have the patience to entertain Miranda's shenanigans today. Especially when the older woman is hell bent to behave like a entitled brat towards you.

And so you laid your hand in Bela's, accepting the dance. But not without a quick warning.

"Careful. I'm not exactly the best dancer."

Bela's faint smile twitched at that. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be good enough."

You frowned. The answer was said so confidently, as if Bela has danced with you before. But this is the first time you've even been withdrawn 2 feet distance of her.

You look up, finding Bela gently leading you accross the dance floor. Her grip was firm, read to catch you if you fall. But it was also gentle enough that if you choose to go, Bela would let go of you.

Let go

Your eyes found hers, and you swear you could see a life flashing in them. A life that you can't remember living, but somehow feel in your bones that it was yours.

Our life

"See? I told you, you're not a half bad dancer."

Bela said with a gentle tone. There was this faint remembrance in the words, as if she knows something she isn't letting on. But you didn't get much chance to think, as Bela twisted your around for a spin, catching you back in her arms, closer than before.

You can feel sweat gathering on your brow, your face becoming flush at this intimate position. Your chest was almost flush with hers. Bela noticed this, looking at you with both mild amusement and concern.

"What's the matter? Feeling dizzy?"

You couldn't control the words that fell from your mouth.

"And if I was, would you make me a soup again?"

Bela immediately came to a pause, her eyes going wide. This time, you managed to catch hold of the memories slipping by in Bela Dimiterescu's eyes.

You saw the beaches of Italy, the cafe's and that hotel room with red rose petals. You felt a beautiful blonde girl on top of you, holding you down against satin sheets. You heard her calling you out in her breathy voice.

"Kitten"

You gasped, almost losing your footing as memories upon memories hit you like a angry truck. But Bela, sweet and strong Bela held you protectively, her yes trained on you.

"Please, please, please tell me you ---"

"I remember." You completed the sentence, your voice as thick with tears as Bela's is.

"I remember!"

Aaaaand that's it. I wonder what happens next 🫣

it was filmed at the same time as the bela lugosi version. i really mean the same time. it's the same sets. the spanish-language cast & crew filmed at night after the english-language team were done. they were released simultaneously

I lowkey feel despite all her efforts Miranda wouldn’t be completely satisfied with MC, even in the good ending. Yes, MC is the reincarnation of her lover, and does get these memories back - but MC isn’t really her lover. Raised by different people, in different eras, surely there are some differences - despite the looks, they cannot be carbon copies of another. Things MC might have been okay with decades ago, they might not be okay with now etc

You're right on the cash! I agree that Miranda and MC are really only tightly bound by Eva. That's not to say Miranda doesn't love MC. She does! But is the love unconditional as it should be? Absolutely naaaah! Case in point: in the cult ending, the MC picks interests and choices that don't match up with the idea of MC Miranda has. Miranda actually points this out, by saying "MC isn't right in this round". That shows MC needs to fit this mould that Miranda has for her. Or she will get rejected and Miranda will reset again. Remember, Miranda had thrown hot coffee on MC if you teased her a lot. It got the MC in hospital. But hey, Miranda can always reset again so who cares if MC gets stabbed, burnt or eaten by a zombie blondie?
