Currently watching: snapcubes playthrough of sonic frontiers. I’m interested so see where the game goes and penny parker #1 sonic fan, she’s so excited. It’s fun to watch. I’m not currently watching any shows, unless youtube series count? I’m going through red letter media’s best of the worst series (thank you and fuck you snail)

Currently reading: wuthering heights! It’s p good so far! I lost my copy for a bit (forgot it was in my bag) but i have since found it. I also just got a copy of jane eyre from goodwill and I’m excited to start that (I’m so behind on classics)

Currently working on: what a loaded question for me specifically! What am i not working on! Uhhhh, lets seee, I’m working on the gothamverse script (if you know you know and if you don’t know for the love of god please ask me i love talking about it) and my two page spread for the pussycule zine (I JUST figured out what i want to do last night) my dnd character for a new mcr campaign (my first time playing dnd ever!) some prints and stickers and other merch. Some more analysis posts. I got a lot going on. I’m a busy guy. (Also if you saw Jask’s post please for the love of god ask him about damilaurence, I CANNOT be in this alone)

Favorite color: i like willow green enough that i spent $10 on a bottle of nail polish. So I’m gonna say either that or burgundy.

Savory/sweet/spicy: savory!!!!!!! I love savory food so much, I’ve literally been eating nothing but burrito bowls the past two week and I LOVE them. I also enjoy spicy but I definitely prefer it with savory. I’m not as big on sweets as i used to be? I can find too much sweetness to be nauseating, and my tolerance has tanked, i eat a bite or two before i give up. But I definitely still enjoy it on occasion!

Coffee/tea/cocoa: i have severe anxiety and a resting heart rate of 130 bpm, if i drink coffee i will have a panic attack. Does that stop me from drinking iced coffee? No. God bless. I love tea though, that’s my favorite hands down. Me and a london fog lavender latte? Match made in heaven, I drink a cup of that every day. Cocoa is fun too! But I have to be in the mood

Craving: burrito bowls still. I went months without eating them and then when we finally decide to have them my mom got pulled pork with barbecue sauce on it and it ruined everything. I’m getting my fill now.

I made it a while ago cuz it's hard finding Tomodachi Game artwork or fan content (or at least for me lmao) so I decided to make one myself

I feel like Yuuichi would frustrate Light a lot, and that would be seriously an interesting interaction to see! For Yuuichi and him I feel like it would be like 2 cats fighting each other for their pride and fun, rather than L playing a cat to chase the mouse, Light (ik it's more complicated but that's it simplified). And also, I haven't finished the manga yet so I might be wrong, but Yuuichi has the ability to make general "friends" or alliances. Hence him taking all of the punishment for Kokorogi, and forming a bond with Tenji. It's not really friendship, but it's more than Light using and treating people like Takeda as his subjects

Again, haven't read the manga completely so I'm probably wrong. Just Yuuichi doesn't have a god complex while Light does. I think that played a huge part in Kira's demise. But idk who would actually win because of course they both have their flaws

Sorry lmao I just wanted to rant about this to someone :D

I feel you, finding tomodachi game content is really hard without the anime on the air (i wouldn't know tho i entered the fandom like three weeks ago but you get what i mean jsjdj) so we keep the tag alive with asks.

But yeah totally!! They would be like two cats fighting for the best spot in the livingroom with the first rays of sun.

While Light is a great manipulator, Yuuichi is great at reading people...to manipulate them, so any attempt on lights side i feel would go like

Light: i'm going to use him against my enemies without him knowing

Yuuichi: lmao this guy wants to use me against his enemies. I'll play his game and see if he's of any use to me.

I just want to see how yuuichi gets on lights nerves with all the faces he has in his arsenal (insert cat meme). And you're so right, while Light uses people and never gets any further than that, yuuichi worries about his friends (his thoughts at the end of the second game is all i need), but he doesnt trust them anymore poor thing

On the other hand light could just go: damn it! He's using me. He thought i wouldn't notice? Haha loser now try to guess your heart condition in the next 40 seconds.

And so far (in the manga) yuuichi hasn't shown any sing of having a god complex, and its unlikely, hes very grounded in how he sees himself jsjdjd he really says yes im poor yes im a monster but those things are unrelated...kind of.

GOING TO TALK ABOUT STYLISTIC VOCAL CHOICES REAL QUICKLY PLEASE EXCUSE ME WHILE I NERD OUT

k So. this is something i’m a huge fan of because it totally changes the tone of a song when it’s used and it just so happens that many of my favorite artists are very skilled at it, which probably explains why i like them so much.

what i’ve noticed is that there’s a difference between singing quietly because that’s what the dynamic markings in the sheet music call for and singing quietly because you’re restraining yourself. like something bigger is going to happen and you need to save your strength for it. or like something bigger could happen but it shouldn’t.

(this is hella long. like, almost 2k words long. so the rest is under the cut)

first place i noticed this was actually with wilbur soot’s vocals on the fall, from lovejoy’s ep pebble brain. in his first (solo) album, your city gave me asthma, wilbur was pretty consistent with singing quietly just for the sake of singing quietly. which is why it was quite surprising when in the fall he busted out this new technique. the fall is an angry song, generally. anger at british politicians, anger at the world. but the first verse is sung piano/mezzo piano, so upon first listen it just sounds kind of contemplative. however. it is very much so not contemplative. you can actively hear in wilbur’s voice how he’s holding himself back. how he has more to give but he’s not giving it, which really drives home the contrast when at the end of the song he’s literally just screaming into the microphone.

he had feelings! he had so many feelings the whole song but they meant so much more because he didn’t let them all out in the open until the end. (and moving away from vocals for a second because this Also deserves recognition -- the instrumentals for a lot of the song are really minimal and tend toward being staccato, which just adds to the feeling of holding back because every chord sounds like it’s being cut off). the contrast is also so much more beautiful because while wilbur’s vocals aren’t often incredibly loud, on lovejoy’s music so far they’ve never been this quiet. there’s a reason for them being as reserved as they are and damn does it pay off. there’s a reason why the fall is so many people’s favorite song off the ep (it is for me only second to it’s all futile! it’s all pointless! for reasons of iafiap is really good).

second place is actually with dodie. she is so much more a quiet singer than she is a loud one, so this one is definitely not as obvious, but. it’s there and it Works. we’re gonna go ahead and disregard her more upbeat pop-style stuff for this because it’s not as quiet and doesn’t really have any effect on the Vibe Difference i want to talk about, but i do want to note that every song they’ve ever released is a banger go listen to it right now this is the law thank you. anyway. there’s a difference between her vocals in songs like arms unfolding, soft and cozy and mildly depressing, and songs like i kissed someone (it wasn’t you) and human. the latter two songs are definitely more on the restrained end of the spectrum. it’s the difference between talking to your best friend on the couch at 1 am, just having fun, and telling them your biggest secret.

it’s the difference between sharing the parts of you that are sad and lonely and yearning but overall nice and digestible, vs. sharing the parts of you that people usually don’t want to hear about. the parts that aren’t so nice. the parts that hurt to say and hurt to look at. the difference in tone is what makes you understand that human isn’t just a normal love song -- it’s about being fucked up and codependent. their choice to use restraint here is part of what makes their music have actual Variety instead of all just sounding the same (which is so frustratingly common in the World of Modern Music TM). because of her general style this is a way more subtle difference and i also could be making it up BUT assuming it was on purpose and i just got lucky enough to notice that she is a Genius (which, like. she is anyway BUT U GET WHAT IM SAYING) i feel like it fits the discussion here.

and for the grand finale let us talk about my favorite incredibly talented music wizards or whichever sufficiently mystical way you would like to refer to them: the amazing devil. i’m gonna focus my discussion on ruin (the album, but also later the song) for this one, simply because i don’t even need to talk about any of the rest of their discography to get my point across, but know that this does happen in other places and it does emotionally destroy me every other time it happens as well. so!

something i adore about this particular example is that joey motherfucking batey is so goddamn talented that he uses different levels of restraint within the same fucking song (is that song nine minutes long? yes. doesn’t matter. still unfair of him). i am of course talking about the old witch sleep and the good man grace. holy Shit what a song. anyway. in The Beginning, joey’s doing his thing, singing about how he’s way cooler than the weird shadow people, and he’s quiet, which is, like dodie, pretty normal for him. yeah he goes feral, but also fair exists. so.

but the part that gets me! is that you can tell something’s coming. you know he’s about to go apeshit. you can just feel it in the way his every note is so measured and the tempo is so carefully controlled. the restraint is so potent -- that kind of calm can’t and won’t last forever. and then the explosion comes so suddenly and you’ve known it was coming and the first few times you listen to the song it still scares you because the first verse was so careful. so quiet. so joey’s got his couple minutes of being feral as all get-out, and then. oh, and Then -- let’s bury this.

this is restrained on a whole different level. before this, joey and wilbur had been playing the same game. restrain your voice now, keep things measured and short and even, so that when you let go later it’s felt a thousand times more. now, though, now shit’s gotten real. it’s like graduating from playing tic-tac-toe and going straight to fucking five-grid sudoku. joey batey is not here to mess around. he’s here to make you his bitch, actually, and you’re gonna fucking know it, literally just because of his technique. what the fuck. this is restrained because he’s scaring the shit out of you and he doesn’t need to be loud and angry to do it. this is restrained because he wants you to know that when he lets go you’re gonna regret everything you ever did to get in this situation. can you tell i think he’s a musical genius? anyway. mans wants blood. and he’s far more loose with the tempo, with the dynamics, even with the notes -- they’re sliding all over the place now, and the jumps are more random too. but his tone is still restrained. he’s still holding back and you know it and then you know it even more because he goes feral again at the end and it’s oh such a beautiful payoff i could LIVE in those few measures! i could live in any of their music but that’s beside the point.

so i’m kind of getting off my own track here with this one but i want to also draw attention to how IMMEDIATELY after the old witch sleep and the good man grace we have ruin, which is just. the Most emotionally devastating song i have possibly ever listened to (aside from actually dodie’s when -- the studio version, which destroys me every time i listen to it). but we aren’t here to talk about how good ruin is because i already did that and nobody wants to hear it a second time. we are here, however, to talk about how the emotional fucking whiplash of this album comes not only from the order of the songs but Also from the tone change. madeleine (she’s here now! hell yeah!) starts singing and you get none of the restraint that joey had literally a minute and a half ago. yeah it’s quiet and also depressing as fuck, but her voice just kind of floats. she’s making the sound soft and close-feeling without necessarily holding anything back, if that makes sense. the dynamics and the vocal tone aren’t what cause the build-up in this song; it’s the accompaniment and the chord progression and the harmonies and the LYRICS, the Fucking lyrics.

also, if we back up a couple steps -- immediately preceding the old witch sleep and the good man grace is chords, which also is just So painful. chords is kind of a balance between towsatgmg and ruin, which i think is so valuable because to go from that balance to the extreme ends of the spectrum with absolutely zero buffer really emphasizes the contrast. you hear what a normal fucking song sounds like and then you hear Absolutely Feral Joey Batey and then immediately the We Are Going to Make You Cry (A Lot) duo. and chords is the same as ruin where there’s not any particular restraint, but it does have a lot more tonal contrast in general and that’s what makes it the middle ground.

(one note really quickly lol -- i am so aware that it sounds like i’m just taking dynamic contrast and blowing it out of proportion but i Promise it’s not just that i just somehow don’t know enough of the actual technical words for what i’m talking about to explain it properly so pls excuse me for that)

IN CONCLUSION (or, a terrible TL;DR): my favorite musical artists are all so talented that i was forced (yes, forced) to write 1.7k words about one specific talent that they all share and use way too many parentheses and irregular capitalizations to get my point across. wilbur soot is the only one of these artists who will use tonal differences expertly but not to make you cry. yet. the bitches at the academy better nominate build a problem for a grammy. and it better win. and also joey batey is an evil, evil man but i hope he and madeleine are both having the best day always (but also i’m mad at them. but also i love them). i do not have enough free time to have written this. i wrote 1.5k words of this in one sitting. i need more people who will listen to me talk about music. please listen to all of these artists. Bookworms {Satan x Reader}

A/N: HELPP im sorry i was laughing so hard at the tags bc like... satan. BUT ANYWAYS i hope you enjoy this one riv!!!! I love satan so much even though i’m still not super far through obey me (i’m trying so hard but genshin and cookie run MAN) so I hope he’s still in character and fits at least relatively well in the plot!! I had so much fun with this one, I actually fell a little more in love with satan writing this so we might need to arm wrestle for him LMAO but i’m rambling now, enjoooooy! Summary: You and Satan are competing for the next book in your favorite series when things get a bit out of hand.

Word Count: 1.4k (under the cut)

You sat in your dorm in Devildom Academy, flipping through the pages of the fourth book in a series you had been reading avidly with your boyfriend, Satan. He had lent you all the books that he had and you breezed through them quickly, eager for more. You finished the last page, which was left as a cliffhanger, and groaned.

You wandered to Satan’s dorm, banging on his door. He opened it, leaning on the doorframe as he glared at you.

“Is there a reason you’re banging on my bedroom door at,” He checked his watch. “One in the morning?”

You shoved the book into his chest, dancing on your feet as he watched you with a raised eyebrow. “I finished! Where’s the next book? I wanna read it, it left off on a cliffhanger!”

Satan chuckled, taking the book and letting you into his room as you scanned his bookshelves, searching for the fifth book.

“As it so happens, this is the last published book. The fifth book doesn’t come out until next week.”

“Next week? Ugh, I can’t wait that long,” You said, crossing your arms. Satan hummed, walking over to you and petting your head.

“Maybe I can ease your pain of waiting a little bit?”

You raised an eyebrow and Satan continued. “The author is holding a signing at the local bookstore to celebrate publishing the fifth book, so we can both get a signed copy.”

He sounded nonchalant about it, but you could see the excited twinkle in his eyes and the grin growing on his face. You nodded your head, feeling your own excitement pound in your chest.

“That sounds fun! Let’s make it a date then,” You said sweetly, making Satan blush as he nodded his head.

“Okay, now get out of my room. I need to sleep,” He said after a few moments, making you laugh. You waved goodbye to him, excited for your date next week.

The week went by fast, and before you knew it, Satan was holding your hand as the two of you walked through Devildom, wandering to the bookstore where the author was signing the new book.

You could hardly contain your excitement when you got in line for the signing. You and Satan discussed the plot of the series, all the twists and turns in the fourth book and how you were hoping it would pick up in the next one.

“I just hope that Cinder is able to save Kai! I mean, Levana is no joke!” You said, craning your neck to try and peek at the author who was currently signing the books, chatting with the other people in line. Satan nodded.

“But you’re forgetting that Cinder is powerful too. Plus she has her friends,” Satan said. You nodded your head, itching to get the book in your hands and read it.

The two of you finally came up to the front of the line, both trying to contain your excitement over meeting the author.

“Hey! We only have one copy left that’s signed right now, sorry about that! We’re getting more copies as we speak, but this is the last one that I’ve signed,” The author said when the two of you stood in front of them. You stared at each other. You had agreed you would each get your own copy…

“It’s alright, we’ll take it,” Satan said. You glanced at him, thinking he was going to give it to you, but he held onto it after he thanked the author and the two of you walked out of the store.

“Hey, you have enough books,” You said, making grabby hands at the book. “Let me have it.”

“I’m the one who paid for it, plus I have the whole collection so far. It makes more sense for me to have it,” He said, smirking slightly as you gaped.

“That’s not fair!”

“Is too. I’m equally as invested in this as you, and I’m the one who got you into it. You can just read it after me, but I keep the signed copy.”

You pouted as the two of you walked back to the dorms, Satan opening the door to his as he walked in. He went to set the book down and you made a grab for it, snatching it up and hugging it.

“Wh- Hey! Give it back!” Satan demanded, but you shook your head, sticking out your tongue playfully.

“I’m gonna read it first!” You declared, running away from Satan, nearly tripping on the scattered things in his room as he chased after you. You laughed.

“It’s not funny! Give it back, you’re gonna bend the pages!”

You finally fell over a stack of books that laid on the floor where Satan was reorganizing his bookshelf. Satan dove for the book, grabbing it up and glaring at you.

“I already told you that I’m gonna read it first!” He said, helping you up as you pouted. You frowned, but that frown quickly turned into a grin as a plan popped into your head.

“Are you sure you’re gonna read it first? Don’t be so confident now,” You said, and Satan rolled his eyes.

“Of course I’m gonna read it first, it’s my book. Now, if you’ll excuse me-HEHe!” He laughed suddenly when you shoved your hands under his arms, wiggling your fingers around as he dropped the book, falling back against the arm of his reading chair as you chuckled triumphantly.

“See? How can you read if you’re being tickled?” You teased, Satan laughing as he tried to squirm away from you, falling into the chair as you followed, tickling his ribs as he threw his head back and laughed.

“Nohohoho! Plehehease dohohohon’t! You knohow I’m – WaHAHA!” He shrieked when you found a particularly sensitive spot on his lower ribs, lingering there as your fingers scribbled around, tickling every part.

“You’re what? Ticklish? Well duh, that’s why I’m tickling you right now. And I won’t stop until you promise to let me read the book first!”

“Why shohohohould I? EHEhehe, wait!” Satan squealed, kicking his legs slightly when you dug into his stomach, spidering around with ease as he hollered.

“Come onnnn Satan~ I just need to know what happens, I promise I won’t spoil anything!”

“Nohohohoho! I wahahahanna read it first! Plehehehease, no mohohore!” He begged through his laughter, and you frowned.

“I really didn’t want to have to do this, Satan,” You said with a hint of faux dismay. “But if you really won’t let me read it, you leave me no choice.”

You crept your hands downwards, skittering across his lower stomach before reaching out for his sides, trailing down to his hips. He gasped, grabbing your wrists and trying to pull your hands away, but there was no stopping you. You latched onto his hips and gave them a firm squeeze, making Satan wail.

“NOHOhohoho! Nonono, not thehehehere, plehehease! Wahahait!” He shrieked, laughing hysterically as you pinched at his hips, kneading them with ease as you buried your thumb in his hipbone, only making the sensations worse as Satan wheezed.

“Are you gonna let me read it?”

“Ahahahafter me!”

“Wrong answer!” You teased, continuing to go after his hips as he threw his head back and bucked, trying to shake you off as his hair flew about in a messy way, his cheeks bright pink as he laughed loudly.

You continued on, occasionally jumping spots to his stomach or his ribs to keep him guessing, but you ultimately stayed lodged at his hips, tickling them with vigor. He shoved at you, grabbed at your wrists, and even tried covering his face, but nothing was going to stop you.

“Okahahahay! You cahahan rehehead it first! Plehehease, just stahahap!”

You pumped a fist in the air in victory as Satan breathed a sigh of relief that the tickling had stopped. You pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before jumping down to grab the book, Satan flopping back in the chair tiredly.

“Get up, I wanna sit with you,” You said when you had grabbed the book. Satan grumbled.

“What, so you can read in front of me?”

You rolled your eyes. “No, so I can read with you! Come on.”

You urged him out of the chair and sat down, patting your lap as he stared at you, flabbergasted.

“You mean to tell me you just tickled the life out of me… Just so that we could read the book together??”

You nodded your head. “Mhm!”

Satan gaped and you laughed. Satan sat down in your lap and crossed his arms, pouting. “What was the point in torturing me then? Rude…”

You chuckled. “It was fun! Come on now, let’s find out what happens to Cinder!”

You opened the book, resting your head on Satan’s shoulder as the two of you read the book together, enjoying each others company as you enjoyed the new book as well.

you two are very close and everyone in the town knows

that, and that you both hate nobles

so it’s no surprise when the moriartys move into town, you’re both less than pleased

you always try your best to avoid them whenever they come into your town and your father always begs his friends to take the nobles as customers, despite the fact it could be good for business

but the town you lived in was particularly small and you did end up bumping into william

some stupid man didn’t see you crossing the road and you were nearly crushed by the carriage if it hadn’t been for the hand that pulled at your wrist

“i swear people these days don’t know how to drive carriages.”

how did i not know that this was a noble??? he smells so clean!

he saw you hiding in corners and alleyways every time you two accidentally made eye contact

and some of the townsfolk actually told him a little about you and your father so he understood why you weren’t too welcoming

so he starts off small, trying to send you a kind smile before you dart off behind a fruit stall

he really tries his best to get close to you and after a few weeks (and a few persuasive friends), he finally gets to hold a conversation with you

and boy does he fall FAST

it takes a while but you finally reciprocate his feelings and he thinks its smooth sailing from there right???

lmao everyone knows your father is literally the most intimidating looking man that could ever walk the earth

if they didn’t know him personally, they would be afraid of getting curb stomped 🤠

i mean,, he’s a big softie but god forbid anyone even DARES to look at you in a romantic light

you warn william of this and he’s like “don’t worry love, it shouldn’t be too bad”

dinner isn’t even dinner it’s a grill with how much questions your father is asking him

“if anything, if he’d give you a chance, he’d want me to be with you. noble or not”

you both continue to have a delightful conversation, your sweet laughs filling the room

however, you didn’t know your father was listening in on your conversation and he couldn’t agree more with william

your mother left with more than just a curt goodbye and unshed tears

she left you with a tear stained letter filled with sorrowful regrets and sincere apologies

he knew you would eventually grow up to be critical of the world and if you were to find out that your mother had left unwillingly, he was afraid that you would be too bitter towards the world

but as he hears your laugh and his worries are dulled down a little

he sees you smiling so happily at william and when he chances a glance at the noble beside you, his worries are completely erased

william’s looking at you the same way everyone swore he looked at your mother

it’s a gentle gaze filled with love and kindness, one that he knew could protect you and take care of you

your father hated nobles and hovered over you when it came to love

but he couldn’t help but hold back on questions when he came back and you instantly noticed that your father took a liking william

everyone knew you as “Little Noble” in your town

the sole reason being your father literally treating you like a noble lmao

he gave you the best of everything he could afford and tried his best to not let you do any work

of course, you were a little angel and you HAD to help otherwise you’d cry about making someone else tired when you could’ve easily helped

you’ve carried this trait until your early twenties and there were no signs that you would stop

hence why you were bringing home some fresh fruits from the stall clerk before a man bumps into you

you were so caught off guard that your knee buckled and you fell on your butt

everyone was stunned into silence as you fell but louis was so apologetic

so when he helped you back up, he felt the chilling stares of the town burning into his back

and then you apologize for bumping into him when he was the one who bumped into you and you fell??????

“please, let me make you something! i feel so bad!”

he tries to decline but there was this odd pressure to say yes to you

he ends up going home with you

you’re both in front of the door before your father opens it, his eyes wide

“who is this boy?”

“oh, i didn’t get his name on the way here. what is your name?”

your poor father’s heart is pounding way too fast for his liking

“oh! look at that, thank you so much for bringing my child home! you should be going home now”

he tries to shut the door on louis but you hold it open and beckon louis inside

“i invited him here! i accidentally bumped into him earlier so i offered to make him something!”

louis is so awkward pls

your father reluctantly lets him in but gives him a side eye the whole time he’s in the house

“does your child do this often?”

“why? do you find it strange?”

anyways, you finish making your treat and give it to louis, your father glaring at your interaction

louis is still a little stiff but the more you talk to him, his guard is let down a little

soon enough he has to leave and you wish him well

he leaves with a wave and a kind smile and you look over at your father who had been scowling since you appeared at the front door

“he is a bit cute, don’t you think father?”

your father sputters, stunned by your bold claim

“y-you’re still too young to think about men like that!”

you laugh and shut the front door, teasing your poor father about finding love while also wondering if you would meet louis again

as you talk with your father behind closed doors, louis smiles to himself as he thinks about the unusual encounter today

surely, if i met them again tomorrow, it would make for a pleasant day

he meets your father before he meets you

it was during a ball your parents organized in order to connect with the more prestigious nobles around you

your parents were obsessed with the way your family was viewed and apparently being an earl wasn’t enough

so albert hears about you when your father boasts about how you’re the perfect child who answered to his every beck and call

in all honesty, albert was disgusted

no one deserved to be brought up like that

he casually makes his way into the conversation and your father is seething

“my child is your age, it’s a shame you act like this, i would have thought of you as a prime husband for them”

who is this earl to tell him what to do?

needless to say your father crosses him off of the guest list for the next ball

days go by and your father doesn’t know that you’re currently in town, doing what you can to help the working class as best as you can

it is on one particular day of visiting an orphanage do you run into the eldest moriarty brother

you two exchange polite greetings and you both pause

“your father is the earl, is he not?”

“you are a general of the army, are you not?”

a brief mention of your father and your mood dulls slightly

“yes, but i’m here on my own accord”

he would kill you if he found out you were amongst the “filth” as he called them

“well, i’ve brought books for the children, would you like to help me read some to them?”

he seemed sincere enough to not want anything more from you, so you agreed

he was actually very pleasant to be around and you find yourself enjoying his company

the meetups continued to happen and soon enough, albert finds himself standing in front of the doors to your family estate

your father is not pleased at all

“it’s nice to meet you again, sir”

“i didn’t forget about what you said to me at our first meeting”

and you’re sitting there like,, ????? they’ve met??? and your father doesn’t like albert???????

of course, inviting albert to your home would have repercussions but you didn’t expect your father to be so hostile

he was always hostile towards other nobles unless they were of higher importance than him

but for him to hate albert so quickly and openly??? this was quite new

you had mentioned that your father has always been one for power so it was clear to albert that you obviously grew up in a home that was more,,, toxic than protective

it was at dinner that this behavior reached its peak and albert despised the atmosphere and the way your father treated you

“i’ve come here to ask for your child’s hand in marriage”

your father rejects the idea without any hesitation

“i refuse to have them live the rest of their life in your household when they could do so much better”

Anyways, Daiji has a lotttt of problems :')). He's literally the perfect target for cult recruitment.

(Which might be one of the reasons why he's still so quick to defend shady ass Fenix. Fenix is one of the few things he positively attributes to himself, so if Fenix is bad then that just means Daiji's failed *again* at doing the right, correct, moral, 'good', thing.

It's the *only* thing he has giving him any lick of worth. The only thing making him useful. Everything he's accomplished will go to ZILCH the moment Fenix isn't part of the 'good guys.' basically, it’s 50k worth of fics (so far) that serve as a testament to how much i love mcu flash thompson 🥺💛 he deserves the world!!

Fic you were nervous to post: i was pretty nervous to post one of my more recent fics, actually! the fic is called Is This Love?, and i was nervous for a few different reasons:

- it’s half sambucky, which was fine bc sambucky is popular lmao, but it’s also half sarahmay, which is a sapphic rarepair i came up with between sarah wilson and may parker. the mcu fandom has a heavy preference for mlm pairings, so i was nervous by virtue of the fic being partially wlw-centric, but it all ended up being fine! i have converted so many people to sarahmay 😤

- the fic also features my demiromantic!sam headcanon. i myself am aspec but (maybe) not demiromantic, so i wanted my portrayal to be respectful, and as such i was nervous despite everything i’d looked into prior to writing and posting the fic, lol

- it’s a multichap. multichaps make me nervous solely because they are multiple chapters. adds stressTM 😂

How do you choose your titles: song lyrics, randomly coming up with them, a specific line/word used in the fic, and brainstorming with friends are probably the main ways!

Do you outline: sure do 😤 it varies from fic to fic, so some outlines are a detailed list of events in the appropriate order, while others are a more general idea of “here’s stuff i want to include,” lol. generally speaking, though, i always try to go in with some sort of plan!

Complete: all of my recent fics are complete! (although that’s bc i primarily write oneshots 😂) on ao3, i think i only have one fic that’s truly incomplete. (oneshot collections are a weird in-between, because they essentially are always complete unless i feel like adding to them.) on ffn, though, i have four incomplete fics, three of which are from middle school. i don’t think they will ever be finished 😩

Do you accept prompts: technically, yes! but my policy is that i am under no obligation to write any of them. i write fanfic for fun and as a stress reliever, so if im not inspired by a prompt, i am not going to stress myself out trying to write for it, lol

Upcoming story you’re most excited to write about: i actually just finished writing this story today (by hand, it’s not typed yet lmao), but im gonna let it count for this question anyways! it is probably the most self-indulgent fic i’ve ever written: a monk and medium crossover. that’s right, two fandoms absolutely no one in the world cares about but me. i wrote this fic solely bc it was something i wanted to read 😂 it is - if i counted correctly - 78 1/2 pages long, which is probably in the range of 30-35k words? once i type it up (in like,, december lmao) i’ll have more specifics, although the “patching” that occurs when i type handwritten drafts could push the word count closer to 40k. but who knows? time will tell!

anyways, im just so excited about this fic bc it has so many things i like lmaooo (examples: allison whump, joe x allison content, sharona being her wonderful self, and what i hope is an interesting murder mystery!)

Okay, now that that's out of the way, Tay what the fuck. I am gonna assume she is Defector, then? If you even assigned her a role, that is! Why would you just SHOOT oh my god Tay. It's valid though, if the power station got sabotaged, I'd be paranoid too. Not that paranoid that id SHOOT AT MY FRIENDS, but I kinda get where she's coming from.

RIP Ze's hard work, that sucks :// I think its sweet how the others care for Ze (special s/o to Platy at this point) and I do think it is interesting how differently both Ze and Chilled deal with the other being hurt and idk if the thought that Chilled is used to it by now makes it worse or not. Either way, it hurts :(

To reiterate: I love how much they care about each other, honestly it is very heartwarming. Get yourself friends like that, seriously. I know you've said in the tags it's interpretable as romantic zrc but i just love how unromantic it is and how it's just friends who mean a lot to each other and want the other to survive and to be okay. If Chilled turns out to be a traitor, I'm gonna be so pissed at him, like dude what the fuck. Ze worked so hard and died so much, you better be good.

Additionally, I keep wondering about how Zes lefthandedness translates, because surely some tools must be built to primarily support righties? And I know fanfic is riddled with description like "the taller one" or w/ but despite my soft spot for height differences, I am glad you didn't insert it every second sentence but basically just mention it when its relevant. I am sad GaLm isnt in it as far as I can tell, because then it'd be two Stevens, two Anthonys and two Zachs/Zacks and i think that'd be funny as heck lmao.

Also also i love the tidbits of worldbuilding we got! So they did train for this at least somewhat! Although i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume they thought they were going on vacation, instead of being stranded and waiting to be rescued.

Is the timelimit still an issue? Like, instead of 30min its 30 days? Or is it completely gone? Anyways, hope youre having a great day and i loved the drama of this chapter!

Omg im so happy you noticed that Tay is defector! I thought it fit her well and was a nice way to ramp up some tension. Yeah I think the paranoia, the atmosphere they’re in, and the environment too all contributed to one snapping moment for her - which definitely happens in the game for certain people too :(

Thank you! I thought that in this situation a lot of care would happen, especially towards Ze given his hard work and it clearly affected him personally. I also liked showcasing the difference in how people care for eachother too, and some bonus bit of angst for Chilled always going to find Ze but in the instance where Chilled is shot, Ze runs away (understandable but still). I very much think that as Ze continues his small transformations, he finds himself defaulting to running in situations where he is stressed or needs to take action - in the games he usually favours actions and lone wolfing over discussions and talking it out.

I love writing Chilled and Ze interactions because they have such a natural dynamic from being good friends but they also butt heads on a lot of aspects. They always know when eachother are ghosts trying to signal to eachother, and I love that Chilled goes to Ze with all his suspicions and Ze likes to go to Chilled as a ghost :D

Shubble a real MVP <3 I haven’t especially thought about left-handedness which is kind of funny because I am left-handed and know personally the struggles of living in a right-handed world :’( Sorry for no Galm!

I worry for our boy Ze but I don’t want to hurt him too much! He’ll be out in the colds alone but maybe he’ll be alright... right? And the group will be there in his absence, we’ll have to see if anything changes there.

Thank you for noticing the worldbuilding! I’m trying to inject it in there! Yeah, they very much thought this was going to be a vacation, it’s a shame it all went wrong. Time limit isn’t fixed because I don’t think that works with the kind of universe logic I’m going for, but they’re in a world of finite resources and they can’t survive there endlessly, so it’s more a matter of escaping before they run out of food/wood/other stuff.
