you hide admiration with a scowl, curling into yourself, as far away as you can get from him. the couch seems to get smaller and smaller with every overly intelligent, carefully thought out word he says. each sentence seems to be coated in a thick layer of i don’t give a fuck. you don’t know how he’s so good a toeing the line.

after six years in f1, you still couldn’t work out why you didn’t like lewis hamilton.

maybe it was his cool confidence, the way he never lacked composure, while you were called an unhinged, delusional woman by every incel on twitter for so much as breathing. maybe it was his sky high stack of trophies, championships, podiums, wins. you weren’t even halfway close to touching his records. maybe it was the way he was diabolically, inhumanly gorgeous, a truly breathtaking creature. you paled in every single way compared to lewis, so how could you even begin to like him?

it was silly, really, pathetic even, feeling such childish disdain just because he was better than you. he was older, more refined, iconic in every single way that you weren’t. perhaps you’d get there one day, but you simply weren’t there yet.

you’re sat beside him in the press conference, sharing the couch with him, alex, lando, charles and max. it wasn’t the worst combination in the world, but anytime you had to sit in front of a gaggle of hawk-eyed journos and a million cameras with lewis, something unfortunate usually happened. never by design, but you just weren’t very good at saving face in front of the mercedes driver.

“do you think the podium is a possibility this weekend?” someone from autosport whose name you can’t remember asks.

“i’m hoping so, just need to keep the mercs behind us again, but i don’t think that will be that hard.” you respond, without even a sliver of a filter. the material of the sofa shifts as lewis tenses up beside you, inhaling sharply at your blatant disrespect. somewhere beside you, lando sniggers, and max is rolling his eyes.

it was no secret that you didn’t have the softest spot in the world for sir lewis.

“that’s assuming your car makes it to the end of the race.” lewis clears his throat, speaking with confident conviction. you turn you head to glare at him, painfully unable to take what you give. alex slaps his hand over his mouth.

“at least my car isn’t so bad that i’d rather go and learn the alphabet down at ferrari.” you scoff. you avoid the eyes of your comms officer, because if looks could kill, you’d be six feet under already.

“i think we’ll leave it there.” tom clarkson suggests, and you stand from the panel and storm away on trembling legs with a terrible ache throbbing between them.

there’s something about the pettiness, the reasonless back and fourth you two always seem to partake in that leaves you in need of a cold shower.

turns out, you have to apologise.

you spend the better part of an hour being bollocked by your press team, who, for some reason, don’t find it particularly amusing that you’d somehow managed to insult the lewis hamilton, ferrari, and mercedes in the span of two sentences.

so, there you were, begrudgingly trailing towards lewis’s hotel room. it’s on the top floor, because of course it is, it’s him. he oozes expensive exclusively, naturally above the rest. you twist your rings nervously, increasingly terrified of being in a confined space alone with the gorgeous brit. your knuckles rap gently against the wood of his door, intentionally weakly. you pray he won’t hear you and that you can just disappear back into the elevator and into your room, to pathetically let you hands wander between your clenched thighs.

you sighed, tossing your jacket on as you made your way to the front door. alex marched ahead of you, eager to get to his car. he already seemed annoyed enough that you and him had been the ones to close tonight. alex was your best friend but recently he’d been so distant, so cold towards you and you had no idea why, but it made your heart hurt.

you missed laughing together all day, working on cute little displays for new books, and taking lunch at the same time so you two could explore new cafe’s in town. you just wanted your best friend back. and it hurt.

furrowing your eyebrows, you quickly locked the front door of the bookstore, turning around to catch up to alex.

the crisp autumn air bit at your cheeks and nose, turning them a rosy pink color. the night sky was an intimidating shade of dark blue on this particular night. not a star in sight.

catching up to alex, who was still looking straight ahead and walking at the same pace, you shoved your hands into your pockets. “is everything okay?” you missed him so badly, praying that he would just tell you what was wrong. instead, he turned around, his eyes cold as he gave you an insincere smile. “yep.” he muttered, still looking at you.

you gazed back at him unconvinced. hurt, your eyes glazed with tears as you gave him a smile and nodded. he looked back at you, regret flooding into his features. you turned to walk away, accepting that you may have just lost your best friend.

“wait!” alex exclaimed, running after you and gently grabbing your arm. you turned around, sniffling as a tear rolled down your face. alex looked into your eyes with an intensity and sincerity that made your heart flutter.

he quickly embraced you in a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around you and burying the side of his face in your hair. surprised, you hugged him back. “im sorry. i didn’t mean to make you cry.” he muttered. you tried to pull away a bit but he just hugged you tighter. “i- i don’t know what i did.” you sniffled, voice trembling.

“i know i know. you didn’t do anything hon i’m sorry.” you sighed at the comforting feel of him holding you, relieved but still confused. “then why have you been so cold towards me? i miss you alex. i just want my best friend back.” you stammered, brows furrowed, his grip on you still tight as your head rested on his shoulder.

“because i’m in love with you.” alex replied. your heart skipped a beat and your stomach swirled at his words. he’d said it in such a sweet, calm manner that made your heart melt. you were speechless.

alex pulled away slightly, cupping your face in his hands and gently wiping a tear away with his thumb. “its just, it’s hard wanting to kiss you every time i see you knowing i can’t. knowing we’re just friends. i was terrified of ruining our friendship, but then i almost did anyways.” he scoffed. “i’m so sorry, i never meant to hurt you. i was just stubborn. and jealous.”

You crawled out of your bed waking up extra early to get to school, the classes went by in a daze, you knew by lunch maybe the time would go by quicker, and you went through today's lines over and over in your head during lunch, memorizing them so you didn't make a single mistake at saying them. Mister Turner wasn't so glad you somehow managed to get Juliet at the school play, people said you deserved it, and your audition was the best of them all, no stuttering, no doubting, but Mister Turner didn't make you feel like you did, because he said you missed a crucial thing, he just made you feel helpless and dumb whenever he stared at you with a scowl or he looked away while you were saying your lines, in your head you asked yourself over and over 'what am I missing?'. He never told you what you were doing wrong.

Rehearsal began and your heart was beating so fast you could feel your ears warm, and your mouth started to get dry, today you had to practice Act 2 Scene 2, meaning, one of the hardest scenes you had to do, the balcony scene.

"Cut!" Mister Turner said as you were holding Charlie's hands, the boy who played Romeo in your class, you were glad it was him, he was your buddy. The teacher walked up the stage and rolled his shirt sleeves, crossing his arms and standing like a tall tree.

"What did we-" He stopped at Charlie, glanced at you, and sighed, looking at you with disapproval.

"I am you girl" That's all you managed to say before you went running out of the stage to cry, why was he so rude? Other days he was just sarcastic and let you do whatever, but today he was furious at you, and you just wanted to do things right to avoid him yelling at you like today.

After 10 minutes in the bathroom, you found the whole place empty, "I asked 'em to leave, I need to work with you" He walked up to you with his hands in his pockets, and from his left pocket, he took out a handkerchief, and gave it to you to wipe your tears.

"Thank you," You said, as you grabbed the handkerchief.

He sat down on the piano's chair, legs and arms crossed, and he sighed "I notice that this scene and Act 5 cause you problems, care to tell me why that happens miss?"

"I don't know" You whispered, he closed his eyes slowly, and nudged his head, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Right.... you don't" He crosses his arms, "Have you ever felt love? ⋆ maybe its just me, but i feel like a lot of what sieun listens to would depend on his mood or what hes doing in the moment !

⋆ when hes going about his daily life or needs a mood-lifter ? definitely gravitates to genres like soft pop + indie ! for studying ? hes probably got those lofi music streams pulled up in the background- always has the volume super low though, otherwise he finds it hard to focus :,)

⋆ still, whenever hes missing suho or feeling down, he tends to put on some of suhos favorite songs :(( in a way its healing for him; it reminds him of the good times they shared, and even if he cant exactly be around him now, he can still be connected with him through song~

⋆ since i think hes more of a genre person than an artist person, i dont think he rlly has any favorite singers/groups ! but i do think hed like stuff by IU, Heize and a lil bit of Clairo, and other similar artists~

⋆ definitely a pop enthusiast imo !! i feel like he would enjoy more upbeat stuff that gets him in a good mood, or that he can work out to lol- (also would love listening to stuff he can do impromptu karaoke or fall over dancing to when nobodys around lmaooo) hes a pretty energetic guy, so it only fits that hed enjoy energetic music as well !

⋆ would also love latin music, w a soft spot for the oldies (and reggaeton) :)) i see him having been raised on a lot of his mommas favorite artists from her teenage years and enjoying them together being a fond memory from his childhood~ but also i think he would enjoy a lot of older music in general, as its very nostalgic for him (and who doesnt love indulging in a bit of that ?)

⋆ i dont think he has a lot of favorite artists, nor is he a superfan of any, but some of them would be Crystal Kay, Selena, Kali Uchis, Red Velvet and 1st gen groups like S.E.S + Shinhwa ! but a lot of what he listens to is whatevers popular or playing on the radio (or even songs his sisters show him !) lol, so he isnt too picky :,)

⋆ listened to a lot of classic emo/screamo bands like Pierce the Veil, Of Mice & Men, Asking Alexandria, as well as Bursters ! probably found the mv for caraphernelia while scrolling through youtube one night and fell down a major rabbit hole, but it introduced him to a lot of bands that got him through middle school :D

⋆ though hes older now i dont think he would ever really grow out of that phase, so his tastes are still similar ! definitely listens to a lot of rock/metal subgenres (post-hardcore, nu-metal, alt-rock, etc-), but i also think hed really like hip-hop too ! doesnt listen to much outside of these genres tho :,)

⋆ imo, some of his favorite artists + bands would be ones like Seotaiji (including his stuff in Seo Taiji & Boys), Bursters, Dynamicduo, Sevendust, Girugamesh and a bit of Pierce the Veil !

⋆ still, he would definitely have his preferences ! ive always headcanoned Slam as being an alt-rock/indie-rock band and so i think a lot of their style would be heavily influenced by all sorts of rock and metal subgenres (i have many opinions about this if anyone was interested in hearing lmao), so i think his own musical interests would be similar to that ! would enjoy anything from stoner metal to midwest emo to post-hardcore lol

⋆ but again, his overall taste would be pretty expansive, so he definitely has a little of everything (pop, r&b, jazz, etc. etc.) rolling around in his spotify likes :,)

⋆ this is one where i feel like yall are gonna fight me on it but ... hear me out :D between an cluster of things — union stress, caffeine, heavy smoking + drinking, etc — i headcanon seongje as being rllly prone to headaches + migraines, which noise-heavy music wouldnt exactly help-

⋆ w that being said, i can see him gravitating a lot towards more softer, chill, easy listening type tunes ! i dont think hed be too picky about genres, surprisingly (?), rather the sound itself, so his likes range anywhere from old ballads he grew up hearing, to soft rock, to rap !

⋆ because of that, i dont think hed have many favorite artists either, if any lmao- but i also dont think hed listen to music a lot outside of like,, maybe studying/focus purposes, or more often as background noise when things are just a lil too quiet for him, soooooo :,)

hi lovely!! i know the willow series is on hiatus, but i have so many outcomes in my head that i had to share with you! whether you decide to finish the series or not is up to you but the chapters are amazing and so well done. the way you describe the readers thoughts are so human, it’s all so enjoyable.

anyways back to what i think would happen, i totally think once rem and the reader confess it’s so going to be one of those angry love confessions. ugh like it’s obvious that her self esteem isn’t that great; we see it with rem and with Alex. So her lashing out finally after he interrogates her or maybe asks her why she’s been so weird would be kind of euphoric and relieving for her.

this is just one the things i’ve been thinking about, but truly your series has been my roman empire since i read it today! 💗💗

I love that you have thought that they would have an angry love confession scene, looking at how I’ve written it that does seem like it is coming but I am an angsty girl so I had something different in mind.

I was thinking a sad confession scene between them both and she thinks it’s the breaking point of their friendship when he confesses too and it’s just so sad and tearful and wholesome.

I actually would love to explore an alternate ending where the confession is angry I agree it would be so freeing for her.
