Pretty much just Hazbin and some OCs of mine! (That's basically all I've been drawing the last month or two lol) I've also been reading way too much (not really, fight me) Charlastor/RadioBelle fics and consuming ALL the artwork. I might just be obsessed with Al in general though - *sigh* - before my Charlastor fixation it was RadioStatic/Silence. Anything with the Strawberry Pimp or Vox tbh. Fuck I'm just rambling about Hazbin, huh? uhhhh where was I? RIGHT here's the one and only reference I actively used besides glancing at some official Hazbin art:

I saw it, and then immediately fell into a fit of laughter at the idea of drawing Charlie and Al like this. The whole drawing process made my cheeks hurt bc I was giggling over getting to make those two idiots be, well, adorable fucking idiots! XD

Anyways, here's the speedpaint!

Anatomy is so harrrrrd but I'm actually really proud of myself for how I did with this one, I'm still terrified of drawing the lower body but heyyyy, problem for another day!

OH I almost forgot to talk about my own characters a little?! Hyperfixation, what have you done to me?!!! We've got four of my babies here, all from the same project called Ashland Bites, which will hopefully, someday, be an animated series! I've been writing it for years and years (slow but steady, I'm a team of exactly one person lmao) and I've been trying to get my art skills honed so I can do as much of the (probably very distant, but hopefully someday) future pre-production work myself! I started learning more about animating recently, and the openness that Vivienne Medrano allows her cast and crew to have has been a godsend for learning more about the different steps of the process (all while feeding my ravenous little neurodivergent brain with that good good fixation content lmao)

Can't share too much about my own project at the mo, but let me just say it's got Vampires, the fair folk, godesses, ancient fantasy cultures, modern humans running around thinkin' the world is our definition of 'normal', and SO much more (I wish I could tell u all the things oh my GODDD)

one of my favorite, like,,, i guess "background arcs" in community is how abed stops smoking in between seasons 2 and 3.

i can totally imagine troy and britta being the ones to pester him about it, especially since britta has struggled with smoking in the past. troy was definitely the one to get him onto those shitty, chalky little candy cigarettes, while britta helped abed with actual recovery and coping mechanisms. she may not be a great psych student, but she would know how to work through a smoking addiction.

The maximals, terrocons and all kinds of beastformers were expelled from cybertron well before the war frames'. I haven't decided yet if their relationship with other civilizations (like humans) is similar to "rise of the beasts" ones, but tarantulas is the first to appear in Detroit.

The only one who knows of its existence is Prowl and there is a lot of justified confusion and tension on both sides.Over time they got closer and more intimate, but nothing too revealing to avoid any suspicion on the part of the bots.

Until one day Prowl almost kills Ratchet from a heart attack when he calls in a panic, because during one of his medications in a cove he was taken by surprise by a strong pain. They discover that it is a tiny light green and gold sparkling(to everyone's shock)

Ooo okay that makes sense, interesting that Tara appears first

Maybe some beastformers have a relationship with other races like the Maximals do in ROTB, maybe some have a less friendly one (thinking about the draconic Predacons and dragons in human history againnnnnn), and then there's Tara just. Doing his thing.

i know he isn't the most popular with the fandom (which like, fair) but man i love pierce. he's a problematic jerk sometimes but goddamnit, seeing how he goes from this deeply lonely, sad, and close minded old man to someone who rediscovers his love for life and people through the six people who were willing to show him any form of care,,,,, it gets to me.

like he spent almost his entire life pushing people away because he expects them to leave him regardless, and when he finally finds people who don't take off, the love he feels for them changes him in such a noticeable way.

he's able to connect with his half brother, and reconcile the relationship he had with his father. he sticks up for and supports britta whenever the group picks on her. he helps shirley start up her business-- which had been her dream since the beginning of the series. he's the only person left with abed during his anxiety attack before winter break, where he is incredibly patient and unjudging of him (i think its notable that abed's episode was kickstarted by his mom not being able to come and visit, and pierce had lost his own mother earlier that year). he acts as a surrogate father to jeff, annie, and troy, and even gives troy not only a home, but the opportunity to do what he never could and find himself by traveling the entire world.

pierce loved them all so much, they were his family. and it really makes me emotional thinking about how much that love affected him.

I wanna know what you think are the ‘supreme early seasons’, like when do you think is the real quality decline??

like actually? quality declines with the season one finale akdhskhfjd but cm as a whole gets way worse once the foyet arc hits. i say this as a BIG foyet fan and known hotch enthusiast, but the introduction of large, looming villains that span across multiple episodes is what slowly starts killing criminal minds. they wrote themselves into a corner and had to make bigger badder unsubs and it just… wasnt possible. doyle was cool and the replicator was fun, but then they started to get really off the rails with the dirty dozen and mr scratch. it distracts from the episodic cases, it disrupts the natural rhythm of the show. some people may like it and thats fine, but criminal minds in season 11 is nowhere near the same criminal minds in season 1

another aspect of ~quality decline~ is just… the vibe. and thats what starts to dip after season one. the low saturation, chill vibe, eerie unsubs, compelling story, unique characters… it’s always been a formula but it actually starts to feel formulaic in a way that pulls you out of it a little. and i love the cm formula akshakdj some of the best episodes use the formula. but the story doesnt feel as natural.

im personally of the mind that the higher the camera quality, the worse the show. once they hit that oversaturated, too-smooth camera/editing/whatever tech shit is actually responsible, its almost like the writing reflects the practically comedic coloring? idk if its the makeup department or the editing but everyone looks orange in season six and it looks like everyones wearing pink lipstick in season seven. things start to get goofy. the writing is painfully cheesy, which may have always been the case, but with the high definition cameras it just makes it feel like a commercial. things that they may have gotten away with, like tropes or references or even just jokes, now feel strained and overused. its cheapened.

from a story perspective, i think criminal minds couldve ended s3e5…. the team was rocked by elle’s departure, emily showed up and there was a lot of friction, p much everyone goes through some tough shit (bringing them closer as a team), gideon breaks down and leaves, emily and hotch nearly leave but return, and they all realize that even tho their job sucks life sucks the world sucks, they’ll have each other and that’s always gonna be enough. there may be personal character development in the later seasons (debatable) but as far as the team’s dynamic? season 2 was the test of their relationships and dedication to each other. season 3 was when they reaffirmed that commitment.

late seasons criminal mind still has its moments. theres at least a handful of eps in every season that are actually worth watching, but the number goes down as the show goes on. it starts to feel different, and i get that its natural for things to change, but it starts to lose the aspects i love about it. it gets to the point where the illusion falls and i have to stop pretending the writers give a shit anymore beyond making money and getting signed on for another season

Agree! The amount of time people have said they're gonna go public (after every follow, before every event), and they never did. 

I don't like Alba, but I don't understand why people act like she isn't known. She is a celebrity, so as we said, it's not a surprise people follow her. Or do people who know Chris only do something if it's because of him? Just because they're friends with or related to him, doesn't mean they don't have their own personalities and lives. Not everything revolves around him. But to be honest, considering that these people are still after this bullshit after almost 11 months, I get why it's so hard to understand.
