before the poll, a quick definition of terms:
"mutual" - you found this post from a mutual (on their blog or your dash) "following" - you found this post from someone you're following, but who isn't following you "random" - you found this by scrolling through someone's blog, who you don't follow. this includes people following you "For You" - you found this on the For You page "recommended" - you found this in a "Check out these blogs" popup, or a "recommended" post when looking at a different post "other" - you found this post some other way. comment how? "reblog ✅" - you're going to reblog, queue, or schedule this post "reblog ❌" - you're NOT going to reblog, queue, or schedule this post
with that out of the way:

Like it's a horrible thing to happen but in retrospect IT is like the funniest subject a teacher could automatically assume an autistic kid wasn't smart enough to take. IT? Haven't you heard of the stereotypes?

I mean even if you had parents who tried their best being diagnosed with autism as a child was like. Here you can get taken out of normal classes to take a class on how not to act like you. You get bullied because you're you. There are debates about whether people like you can feel love. Here's an article about someone wanting to murder their child who's just like you. People are very sympathetic to the parent!
Here you can go to a new school with a special bit for kids like you. Yes you still have to take lessons on how not to act like you. You have to sit at the same table with all the special ed kids. The IT teacher thinks you shouldn't try their class because kids from the special unit automatically can't handle it. It is a regular IT class. You practically live on the internet.
Here you can go to a different school just for kids like you. You will still not get all the support you need and you will not have access to the same qualifications as other kids, and you will be isolated from abled kids, leaving you with a long term belief that you cannot connect with anyone outside this kind of setting, and a debilitating fear of people you perceive as being too "normal" to get you.
Now you are an adult, but are you really? Everyone thinks "autistic adult" automatically means someone diagnosed in adulthood. Are you real? Are you still a child secretly somehow? Many of those who weren't diagnosed as children say they are jealous of you. If only they could've had that kind of support.
