Suppressing symptoms only prolongs your healing. The degree to which you are able to listen to your body‘s symptoms is in direct proportion to your ability to begin creating a protocol. Good luck developing a series of shots (that you need to take every six months) to deal with psychological stress and the human Immune System. Living in fear for almost 2 years now has added nothing positive to the immune conversation. Chronic stressors (including experiencing chronic emotions such as fear, being worried all the time, not sleeping enough etc.) were associated with suppression of both cellular and humoral measures. As a quick refresher, there are two main mechanisms of immunity within the adaptive immune system – humoral and cellular immunity. 🤓Humoral Immunity (also called antibody mediated immunity) refers to the bodily fluids and generally protects against extracellular virus and bacteria. When a humoral immunity based response occurs B Cells produce antibodies after being activated by specific antigens present in body fluids. Antibodies produced by the B cells will bind to antigens, neutralize them and or cause lysis (destruction of cells by a lysin) or phagocytosis. 🤓Cellular Immunity occurs inside infected cells, it is mediated by T lymphocytes and is an immune response that does NOT involve antibodies; it involves the activation of phagocytes, antigen-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocytes, and the release of various cytokines in response to an antigen. These Helper T cells are released by cytokines, which help activated T cells bind to infected cells; the infected cell then undergoes lysis. 📍As a quick reminder we actually do want some stress in our lives!! Sunday Night Reminder … I know so many of us are always looking for ways to “biohack” our biology and our health, but the truth of the matter is no matter how many cold baths, sauna or even acupuncture sessions you have, you simply have to do the boring and basic work on your health .... every single day.
