so these are definitely, in order:
monk
ranger
cleric
barbarian
druid
warlock
paladin
rogue and/or fighter
artificer
bard
wizard
sorcerer
(also as someone who keeps sneaking the pirate background into every character I play, regardless of whether or not it makes sense, I approve of this new list)
D&D classes suck. Let's replace them with a different set of 12:
Ghost
Pokémon Trainer
Nerd
Asshole
Furry
Vampire
Lawyer
Pirate
Robot Builder
Clown
Fake Wizard (uses science instead)
Princess
There! I see absolutely nothing wrong with that list.

regular D&D game except every time I’m about to roll a d20, I break into a full rendition of “Luck Be A Lady” from the 1950 musical Guys and Dolls, complete with choreography (backup singing from other players optional)

took a MBTI training for work and here are the most On Brand things that happened during the class:
one guy signed his whole team up for the training as team building, and they all came, even the ones who were skeptical about the whole MBTI thing. the supervisor guy was an ISTJ and so was almost everyone else on his team
an ENTJ stated (before finding out he was an ENTJ) that his closet at home is organized by color
the one ENFP at the training had a hard time deciding if she actually was, in fact, an ENFP
an ESTJ said that she has spent 12 years trying to push through a proposal at her job and still hasn't given up on it
both the one ENFP and the one INFJ said that they have ISTJ exes, and that the training was very enlightening as to why those relationships Did Not Work
an ISFJ said that she thought her type was a good fit, but then proceeded to name examples of times when she was actually more of a perceiver or an extrovert
the trainer (a perceiver) reassured us all that being a judger doesn't mean you're judgmental, and almost immediately afterwards several of the judgers started venting their frustrations about perceivers in tones that can only be described as judgmental
all of the ESFPs were vaguely surprised that they were ESFPs
when the NFs were grouped together for an exercise (all three of us), we all agreed with everything that each person was saying, even though we were all saying totally different things. the one thing we really did all agree on was that we need people to Be Nice To Us when giving us feedback or criticism
the one INFP (me) was thrilled that we got an hour long lunch break because it meant I could go check out a nearby coffee shop and sit there journaling by myself for a bit

Evermore is a Christmas album: a very serious analysis
willow - willows are trees. trees are innately Christmassy (Christmas trees). also referenced in the lyrics: wine (often drunk at Christmas), the word “mythical” (many Christmas myths exist), and a train (Polar Express, anyone?)
champagne problems - clearly a holiday song. there’s lots of singing about champagne (more of a New Year’s drink, but that’s still basically Christmas), plus the word “evergreen” and the phrase “deck the halls”
gold rush - gold is a Christmas color, as evidenced by classic Christmas songs such as “Silver and Gold.” also, actual gold rushes often took place in the far north, where there is a lot of snow.
‘tis the damn season - self explanatory. also worth noting that with this song, Taylor fills a long-standing gap in the Christmas song canon by singing about the universal experience of coming home for the holidays and hooking up with an old fling who never left town because you’re bored
tolerate it - lyrics such as “lay the table with the fancy shit” and “I polish plates until they gleam and glisten” evoke the experience of entertaining for the holidays
no body, no crime - all about loving and supporting your friends and doing anything for them! that’s the Christmas spirit right there folks!!
happiness - happiness is a feeling experienced by many at Christmastime. also more references to trees
dorothea - the other end of the universal holiday experience: now you are the old fling who never left town
coney island - “the bright lights, the merry go” - is she singing about a carnival or Christmas??
ivy - ivy, of course, is a Christmas plant. for reference: classic Christmas carol “The Holly and the Ivy”
cowboy like me - ‘sitting in an airport bar’? sounds like traveling home for the holidays! ‘eyes full of stars”? stars are Christmassy!
long story short - “now I just keep you warm” (because it’s winter and it’s cold out) “rare as the glimmer of a comet in the sky” (like the Christmas star) “he feels like home” (home for the holidays!)
marjorie - real talk for a sec: this song is such a beautiful tribute to remembering a loved one who’s passed, and that is genuinely a universal holiday experience, especially as you get older.
closure - “yes, I got your letter” could be Santa Claus’s anthem
evermore - specifically stated in the lyrics that the events of this song take place in November and December aka Christmas season

would like to propose an alternative version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” called “Motherfucker It’s Cold Outside.” it has the tune of the original song but the lyrics are just one person yelling about how cold it is outside

Bree would be that first town you stop in to stock up on supplies for the road trip and maybe spend the night. You’re still not far from home, so you’d think this place wouldn’t be all that different, but something’s definitely a little... off. Nearly everything in the town seems constructed for people who are just passing through - service stations, fast food restaurants, dingy motels - and yet everyone you see seems to be a local. They huddle around the counter at the convenience store sullenly and look at you slightly askance, although they do point out where the restroom is when you ask if there’s one you can use.
In the ideal modern lotr au, all locations should have an eery, abandoned vibe (like they do in the books). The kind of locations you stumble over on a road trip and are haunted by for the rest of your life.
Tom Bombadil’s house as an old tourist trap that hasn’t been altered since the 70s run by a too-friendly owner and his suspiciously beautiful wife.
Weathertop as a giant factory that became redundant decades ago and was left to rot.
Rivendell as a breathtakingly beautiful hotel that was fully booked every night in its heydey, but now is lucky to have more than two guests at a time.
Moria as an abandoned subway system… but is it abandoned?
Lothlórien as a fairytale themed amusement park built in the 50s that went out of business and was reclaimed by nature.
…I could go on.

pro tip for DMs
after we finished our last campaign, our DM bought us stuffed animal versions of the monsters we were most reluctant to kill because we’d quickly formed unreasonable attachments to them/thought they sounded cute. truly exemplary behavior for DMs everywhere (that is, if they’re completely unwilling to just let their players fucking adopt an owlbear or befriend a beholder in the first place)

… has anyone considered. that the longer El’s hair gets/the more traditionally “feminine” she looks, the weirder Mike gets with her. short-haired El in s1 and s2 is the version of her he’s the most comfortable with. when she gets her head shaved and looks more “boyish” again, he’s suddenly able to confess his love for her. have we considered.
