As long as the whole crew (yes, including Izzy and Lucius (who is NOT dead 😤)) is together, I don’t care what happens lol. I just love their found family so much.

I hope OFMD doesn’t end with Stede and Ed running away together.

I understand that it’s a romantic show and they are the main couple in question, but the show has such a strong found family dynamic in it, that I think it would a shame and waste to leave it behind.

Better yet, I think it would be interesting if Stede and Ed did plan on running away, but Stede decided against it and the two stay with the crew. Stede decided against it when he thinks about how he ran away from his last family, because he didn’t fit in, but now he’s finally found a family that he does fit into. Plus, it may be Ed’s first experience with a real, loving family.

It's not a headcanon that Izzy is abusive and racist by the way. That's literal canon text. You're not cool or edgy for defending a cis racist white man who treats everyone like garbage. Izzy Hands is not neurodivergent. He's a white cis neurological abuser. He uses emotional manipulation, physical assault, threats of violence, and turned in the guy he liked to the cops in a jealous pique! He's a piece of shit and so are you.

Him being neurotypical and cis are headcanons. He’s never explicitly said to be neurotypical or cis. I’m allowed to head canon him as whatever I want.

Also, yeah, he yells at people, grabs Fangs beard and turns his boss into the cops. How is that worse then killing someone’s dog, throwing a man overboard, cutting off someone’s toe, forcing them to cannibalise it, stranding people on an island to die and setting a whole ship of people on fire.

Because I think it’s very obvious which one is worse.

TW talk about fictional abuse

I really hope OFMD season 2 actually confronts and deals with the fact that Edward is an absolute abuser. I’m genuinely worried that S2 will just sweep all the abusive shit that he’s done under the rug and just be like “hey! Stede’s back and Ed’s fine now!”

He choked Izzy out for a vague verbal threat. He cut off Izzy’s toe and forced him to cannibalize it (and I would consider forced cannibalism to be a form of violation). He threw Lucius over board for simply existing in the same space as him. He either killed Fangs dog or made Fang put down his own dog (I don’t remember which one). He stranded the crew which he knew has little to no survival skills. He burnt down and entire ship full of people. And probably countless other things before canon. I can’t even imagine how traumatized everyone is/will be, especially Izzy, Lucius and Fang.

I don’t want to hear “well, he’s a pirate so it’s realistic” when 1) nothing else about this show is realistic and 2) we’re supposed to like him/root for him. Plus, I guarantee you that even real life pirates had a concept of abuse and unnecessary violence. I would understand these actions if he was a villain, but he’s supposed to be one of the protagonists. Izzy is the villain and his worst action is yelling at a grieving man and getting his boss arrested. I also don’t want to hear “well he was drunk so he wasn’t in his right mind”, as 1) he made the choice to drink, and 2) you are still responsible for the things you do while impaired.

I’m going to be so disappointed if S2 just ignores Edwards problem with abuse, and ignores the trauma he’s inflicted on everyone else in the show.
