It’s been so many months since I’ve posted anything or even checked tumblr. Time for an update. I always use tumblr and my instagram stories like personal journals and I get surprised when people respond but thankfully tumblr doesn’t record the number of people that see individual posts so I can still feel anonymous on here.

I didn’t go with the job. It wasn’t a field I was interested in and I couldn’t bring myself to do something that made me feel uncomfortable, especially since it was all about working with the public out in public. Instead my friend got me a job as gig staff in a concert arena car park. It was fun for a while but the lack of hours made it pretty worthless. I eventually got a job in a bar and I’ve been doing that for about 5 months now which is nice. Hard work, not paid enough, odd hours. At least the cheque is reliable.

I really haven’t done any magic. I haven’t found the time or energy to practice anything religious. My faith is strong and my desire is there, it’s just the doing that I struggle with. I’ve been getting into it though. Buying books, craft material, researching rituals and recipes, etc.

I just ordered a few things actually. A new tarot deck, prayer beads, some saltpetre (Potassium nitrate, for Vesta powder) and a cute little wooden spoon to go with it (KNO3 is toxic to touch so I thought a spoon was smart, and I didn’t trust getting a metal one because of possible reactivity).

There’s this South Asian market across the road from me, they have amazing food options and lots of fresh produce, but I’m really interested in the back section. They have religious (Hindu) paraphernalia as well as cooking equipment. For relatively cheap I could go there and buy incense, an altar bell and a mortar and pestle which are all things I don’t have (except incense, but I only have one type and it just so happens to be the scent I can’t find in the shop).

Also I dropped out of the language course months ago. It just didn’t feel good to be so bored in every class. It was either politics which I struggle to find interesting, or the language classes which were beginner level so there wasn’t any learning happening there. I realised that I want to be a nurse, specifically a midwife.

I’ve always had the idea of going into medicine but it never really felt like an option. I love midwifery and also nursing in general, and there are some great schools over here with several nursing courses. I decided to go for it and I’m starting a PLC later this year which will hopefully help me get into a Uni course. I’m really excited for it.

Nursing is actually something that captivates me. I have such a love for medicine and human biology so I know that the only boredom I’ll feel is the copious revision around exam time. Midwifery especially is a passion of mine and it feels amazing to know that it’s a viable option. I always enjoyed biology and chemistry in secondary school, and now I’m going into courses where I’ll be studying them in an applied field. It’s really the only thing I have to look forward to.

Speaking of looking forward to things, I’m not so excited about my transition journey. I’m a trans girl, egg cracked back in September(?) of 2022. I decided to go with GenderGP as the wait times in Ireland are disgusting. Better a few months between referral and prescription as opposed to a few years. I know the wait times with GGP can be several months but the weeks and weeks with no communication make me so nervous.

I opted to go through gamete storage before being issued my prescription, so it makes sense that I won’t hear anything until I update them once I’ve done so. I’ve already paid the set up fee so it won’t be an issue. The real financial issue is that consultation at the fertility clinic cost €200, and my appointment to give my samples will cost €300, and I’ll be expected to pay the annual storage fee for the following year at the same time, another €300. So I paid €200 a month or so back, and in a week I’ll have to pay €600 all at once. Just so I can possibly (if the IVF takes) have kids when I’m older due to the chance of infertility brought on by HRT, which I have yet to hear anything about...

In the mean time I’ve been purchasing feminine clothes, exploring my fashion sense, and trying to become comfortable in my appearance. Just today I tried shaving my hands and arms so that I didn’t have body hair poking out at the end of my sleeves, but all I ended up with is a bunch of stubble and countless cuts and scabs. Such fun.

It’s already bad enough that when I shave my face I get a thousand cuts and it starts growing back immediately, but I can’t even get rid of the thinner, lighter, slower-growing body hair? The only upside to my hair growth is that the hair on my head is long and thick, but the femininity of my hairstyle doesn’t balance out the fact that if I go a day without shaving I have a 5 o’clock shadow from ear to neck. I bought a 2-in-1 epilator/electric razor for my birthday but upon trying it, it did NOT work on my face, and it took so much effort to work on my body, and that’s just with the razor. The epilator was both painful and pointless. Did not do a good job and hurt more than waxing or threading could ever.

I’m honestly considering just waxing regularly. I’ve tried it before so I know I can stand the pain (I don’t think it’s that bad), and it’s effective, which is the most important factor, and the second most important is that it lasts. I had a patch on my leg where I tested a wax strip and it stayed almost completely hairless for nearly 3 weeks. My sister has a wax melter and a pack of pellets she barely uses, so if I just borrow it off her I could do a full body wax (minus privates) by myself for basically free. And just to be nice and unselfish I could buy my own pack of wax beads so I don’t waste hers, or I could just buy the same model of both wax and machine. She used it before to do my eyebrows (years ago) and it worked great, so I know the melter works good and the wax is effective.

All in all, Faith is persistent, Bodies are confusing, Doctors are annoying and Life is way too expensive when you need anything at all.

I got a job today 😭 I was literally complaining with my ma the other day about how I haven’t gotten a response from anywhere I applied, and then I got a message about an interview and I did it yesterday and it went well. Then I get a call today saying they wanna offer me the position and I literally just sent the things I had to sign back like an hour ago?? I’m so happy literally best day this year

I mean... we're only living in a literal inferno...

415 fires. Fuck are we dying...

This is only the beginning. Our country has not only entered a new decade, it seems a new dawning era as well, because this flaming apocalypse doesn't show any sign of stopping any time soon.

And you know what saddens me? I've never seen Australian tragedies trending here on this website. I mean it's been going on for months and only now does it seem to really be getting recognized, even if it is only at #9.

And I'm going to be honest with you here - the internet, and media in general is so American centric, this website being no exception. You'd think that an entire continent being on fire for several months with devastating consequences would have more recognition, but no, it really doesn't. The most notes I've ever seen on a post about the Australian fires is at least a few thousand, and that's about it.

So just... please. If you can, with this post or any other post in regards to the fires going on down here, reblog. Because the only thing that should be spreading like wildfire, is a post about a burning country...

I got another snake!

My brother came into possession of another corn snake and decided that as an early, surprise christmas gift he would give her to me. I’ve had her since the 23rd and she’s doing quite well.

Unfortunately she’s a little camera shy so this is the best photo I’ve been able to get of her outside of her cave.

Keeping on theme with my other snake, ‘Lilith’(Lily), I’ve decided to name her ‘Eve’.

She’s about 19 months old at this point so she is considerably bigger than Lily but she’s very tame and friendly, which is great

Ways to strengthen your devotion

(Warning: This post is somewhat geared towards Satanists but is intended for all spiritual people. If you do not follow Satan then simply ignore the specifics of any reference to him and focus on the general message.)

I have struggled with my faith, religion, and devotion to my spirituality and my craft before. It would fluctuate between my being completely devoted and loyal one day to unmotivated and tired the next. I always find that there are certain things I can do that help reaffirm my devotion to my craft and spiritual practices. I thought I should share them with you guys. Especially for those who also follow Satan. I feel losing interest and determination really wrecks with our heads as it’s strictly against the general philosophy and teachings of our Dark Lord. I hope this helps you all :-)

1. Thoughts

The easiest way I get back into the swing of things is by simply thinking about things. You can focus on experiences you’ve had such as prayers and spells that left you feeling alive and strong. It could be about all the things you’ve done to build up your craft and religious knowledge, or it could be about the tools and objects you’ve worked on and used. Anything that fans the flame within you. This is usually my first step towards regaining my devotion.

2. Ambitions

Another way of thinking that really gets me going is creating goals. This can be as simple as promising to yourself, the Dark Lord, or whatever spirits and gods you work with that you’re going to make an altar in a shoebox. Maybe even carving a wand, or collecting leaves and plants for mixtures and ritual decoration. It could be as ambitious and extreme as promising to whomever you feel that you’re going to plan a fantastical ritual out in the woods for the upcoming full moon where you dance naked and have everything organised. As long as you make the promise and focus on keeping it.

3. Create + Admire

One of the most creative and inspiring ways to get back into your faith and craft is to create things or to admire creations focusing on your specific religious and spiritual practices. Whenever I feel like it, I go on Pinterest and I look at Satanic art and altars and books and everything related to it. The imagery, the photography, the symbolism, the passion, the creativity. It all gets me revved up and inspires me. I also love creating things. Specifically tools. I worked on creating my current grimoire for roughly 2-3 months. I have yet to fully write anything in it but that’s because I’ve been busy with other things and I haven’t had the time to do any research or write in any of my spells and prayers. What I have done though, is made a beautiful opening page which illustrates a Baphomet-like being behind a coloured pentacle with the phrase “In the Devil I trust” written above it. I also sewed the book together by hand, created the cover and put it all together. Throughout the whole creation process I felt inspired and powerful. I felt like I could do anything and I had such a great passion burning through me, and that’s why my favourite thing to do is to create and admire artwork and tools designed for my path.

4. Practice

A few short months ago I felt stumped. I was completely unmotivated and felt like I was going nowhere with my craft. I asked the Dark Lord what to do and every time I asked the question, the answer I would receive always translated to “Just Practise!”. Not practise as in “Practice Makes Perfect” where I should do things over and over to become Perfect™, but practise my craft. You can do tarot, you can write spells, you can read and research different topics, you can write prayers and petitions, you can simply talk to your spirits and the Dark Lord. Whatever you want to do that incorporates your power, do it. You’re a witch, so act like it.

5. Plan

I know that some of you might be assuming that this is just a repeat of the “Ambition” part of this post, but it is somewhat different. Making goals is thinking of something you want to do and figuring out how to go about it. It’s focusing on the end result of achieving it. Planning is focusing on the development of whatever you’re working on. I really like the idea of writing for money and even as a full time career. I’ve read about freelance work and I’ve done some research. I’ve always been told I’m a great writer or that I have potential, and I love writing. I feel like it’s something I could do. I kept seeing everywhere that one of the best ways to improve your writing was to create a blog. This made me think about the 1, maybe 2(?) blogs I’ve seen on Satanism and Satanic witchcraft. I felt inspired to start my own blog to share my knowledge, experiences and ideas with others like me. So I immediately started planning how to do it. What would I talk about? What would it look like? How would I make it? This is the difference between a goal and a plan. I have the goal to make a blog, and I focus on the end result and working on it once it’s made, but I’m also planning my blog. I’m learning new things, I’m working on my ideas and refining the blueprint I’ve laid out so far. This has inspired me and the idea of making my own blog makes me feel passionate about it. If you decide on a goal such as a witchcraft related blog, or a business selling divination and spell-work, or making a tarot deck, or writing a book. Anything! Then Plan It! If you leave something so big as just a goal that's in the same place in your head as the shoebox altar, or the flower picking, then you’ll never be able to accomplish it. Put the work in and you will feel a fire in you. You’ll feel devoted, successful and powerful. Take you’re craft, take your spirituality, take your dream and your desire, and Make It Happen!

I hope that this helps those of you out there who feel stuck and down in the dumps. It isn’t the end of the world if you feel a little disconnected. Especially to my fellow Satanists out there, I want you to know this. The Dark Lord loves you no matter what you do or how you act. As long as you stay devoted in your mind and soul, it doesn’t matter. To everyone else, I hope that you find inspiration and are able to work past the devotional-blockage that you’re dealing with.

However, before I begin I want to let you know that I personally feel that whichever field you have more passion for is the one you should move forward with. If the results of the reading don’t feel like they’re what you’d’ve liked to hear then go with the other option if it feels right. On to the reading

I’m not sure if you’re a bit confused or if I just don’t understand how you’d like the question answered, but I used my pendulum to get the answers on which career and I used my cards on the topic of your success. As for the pendulum, I got the following answers:

Now, because of the nature of this reading on your r/s, I do have to warn you that (despite my divination being almost completely accurate in Personal Experience) there might be some inaccuracies in the following reading, so take it with a grain a salt :-)

For the pendulum I got the following answers:-Will he propose? Yes-If so, near future, distant future, or very close to now? Close-If very close, will it be on the trip? YesThis all looks very good and if the reading is as accurate as we both hope it is then early congratulations! Again, don’t put all your hope-eggs in one basket. I really want to make a blog rn.

I will, obviously, but man I really need to sort my mess of an aesthetic out :/ That also relates to me teaching myself about art and digital techniques. Colour theory seems both easy and complicated and my little amphibian brain can’t handle the lack of sureness. And then I need to format a blog and also look up writing techniques and tips and exercises to work on that skill. God WhY must the desires that I give into with minimal planning and consideration have to be so stressful

In regards to your situation with your mother. I pulled the following cards:

The 8 of Swords. The reversed 10 of Pentacles. The reversed 2 of cups.

Given the general meanings of these of cards in relation to your situation along with what I sensed and understood of the cards messages, I believe there’s a power dynamic within you and your mother’s relationship. I sense that there’s a way she’s being overbearing that strains the relationship whether she realises it or not. From the reading I took that open communication might be the best route to take. Talking with your mother about how you feel and what you would like to do about the relationship you two have might be the easiest and most effective way to start working towards a better life together.
