-----------------
After years of moving around I was relieved to finally be back at home, although it was strange at the same time. So much had changed and yet remained the same somehow. I could not quite grasp it.
While my parents were busy working already as some people they had hired were unpacking, I took a stroll around the neighborhood.
We were living in another part of the city now. Another thing to get used to.
But I was not too worried about that. I was rather anxious about changing schools in the middle of term once again. It was my last year after all. My parents could have at least let me finish that at my old school. But my situation did not matter to them when it came to their job.
Back at home I retreated to my room. Somebody had set all my stuff here as well, not giving me the chance to decide over my own room.
I sighed and started decorating it the way I wanted at least.
My eyes drifted over to my wardrobe. I was cringing when I spotted the uniform. I had gotten used to not wearing one abroad and was definitely not looking forward to this kind of constriction again.
Nevertheless I was dressed in it the next morning, my parents too busy to notice my anxiety. They did not even great me as dad was typing some text away and mom was making a call.
I skipped breakfast and walked outside to get into the car. Of course my parents had hired someone to drive me as well. But for now I was glad that I did not have to take the bus.
Getting introduced to my new class my eyes automatically scanned the faces of my new classmates. I used to be horrible at remembering faces and names, but after moving for the third time I had started to excel at it. Kinda social survival mode.
I halted when my gaze focused on a tall girl with wild black girls and dark eyes. She looked awfully familiar and yet I did not know why.
When Miss Abeer said my name the girl looked at me in a weird way as well. What about that?
It was frustrating. The answer was basically right in front of me and yet I could not get it. So I sat down instead and tried to focus on class.
But the nagging questions did not leave my mind. Therefore I made the decision to talk to the girl as soon as the lesson was over.
Before I could reach her though, the girl in front of her began talking to her.
I froze when she said her name: Hiba. And suddenly it was like a lock had been opened and all the memories were coming back up, from a time long gone.
Hiba had been my best friend. Losing her had ripped me apart years ago.
I stumbled toward her, feeling like I was in a trance. “Hiba”, I mumbled.
Her head turned around to me, a frown on her face. “What do you want, newbie?”
My heart sank at her snarky remark. But I decided to continue anyway.
“Don't you remember me?”, I wondered.
“Why should I?”, she shot back.
Her friend, I supposed, was crossing her arms in front of her chest and looking at me suspiciously, like I might jump at her any second.
“I know it's been a long time, like five years ago. We were childhood friends, remember?”
“So what?”, she questioned.
“I just ...”
She interrupted me: “You thought we could just go back to being friends again now that you've returned? You gotta be kidding yourself! I don't hang out with losers anymore. Now shush and leave.”
Tears sprung to my eyes before I could stop them.
Was this really Hiba? She used to be so kind to me. One more thing that had changed while I had been gone.
“Are you deaf?”, Hiba taunted me. “Go. Away.”
I could not help but follow her words. It hurt too much to stay here.
After two minutes I was somewhere outside, no clue where I actually was because I did not know my way around school yet.
How could Hiba change so much? Of course, years had passed but this was just extreme.
Suddenly I was consumed by anger.
It was not my fault that my parents had ripped me away from my home, that I had left her behind, that I had no choice but to return to her new self. That I had missed such a major part of her life that I had not been able to self her kindness.
I felt like a puppet being controlled by my parents. If they just had not forced this decision upon me … If I could have stayed …
I was sitting on the concrete, leaning against the wall of the school building. My mind was playing tricks on me, trying to fill the void. To fill the five years that had passed with images of Hiba and me still being together. Images of what could have been.
------------------
Now Hiba is getting her own story as well. How do you like it so far?

Changes - Nadeen x fem reader (Chapter 1)
Tumblr media
summary: A lot had changed over the last months, especially (f/n)'s twin sister Hiba who seemed to hate (f/n) now. When (f/n) has given up on making any new friends, Nadeen suddenly intrudes her life in the best way possible.
warnings: bullying

----------------------
“Head in the books once again?”, Hiba mocked me, snatching the book out of my hands.
“Cut the crap, Hiba”, I shot back annoyed.
Why did she always have to get on my nerves?
Her friends were staring and laughing at us, obviously enjoying the show.
“Just give it back”, I requested, stretching my hand out to her.
“Nah”, she uttered and threw the book over her shoulder to the front of the classroom.
Without another word I rose and got it back, not granting her the satisfaction of seeing my inner turmoil at her behavior.
“I can't believe she's your sister”, Tasneem proclaimed chuckling.
“Me neither. She's such a loser”, Hiba noted.
It had not always been like that. There had actually been times when we had loved each other more than anything else. But I guessed that had died together with mom.
“Here you go”, Nadeen stated after picking up the book for me and handing it over.
“Thanks”, I mumbled, forcing myself to smile at her when everything inside of me wanted to scream.
“That book looks cool”, she remarked, eyeing the cover.
“It is. You could borrow it if you want to. I'm almost finished anyway. Should only take the break to wrap it up”, I offered before even thinking about it.
“Great”, she rejoiced, sending a grin my way.
I kept my promise by giving her my book in the bus, before moving to a seat as far away from Hiba as possible. I was not keen on triggering another outburst of cruelty.
Yet I could not escape her when it was time to get off the bus. But instead of talking to me, she brushed past me making sure to bump into my shoulder in the process.
Luckily we had separate rooms. Otherwise I would probably lose my mind.
I threw myself onto my bed and checked my social media, talking to some of my friends. Unfortunately they were attending another school than me and lived a thirty minute drive away. So I did not see them too often.
I almost dropped my phone onto my bed when it suddenly started buzzing. But my mood quickly brightened at the name and picture of my best friend on my display.
“Hey, Sam”, I greeted her, the nickname automatically falling from my lips.
It was a video call and therefore I could see her frown at me.
“Hey, what happened? You look like shit”, she proposed.
“Thanks”, I replied sarcastically. “Just the typical stuff.”
“Hiba again?”, she reassured.
“I dunno what's up with her. She just loves taunting me”, I assumed.
“Still hard to believe that she turned into such a bitch”, Sam pointed out. “She used to be so sweet.”
“She just doesn't talk to me anymore”, I enlightened her. “I never know what's running through her mind.”
“Tell me about it. My siblings are the exact opposite, but still getting on my nerves in another way”, she claimed. “And here they come.”
Her two little brothers had burst into the room, creating chaos everywhere around. I did not question it when Sam hung up without any warning.
I sighed as I let go of my phone. Lately it was all feeling so worthless. I had pretty much no social life.
I spent the rest of my day staying in my room and reading another book. It was the only thing that could keep my mind from spiraling.
The next day Nadeen settled on the bus seat beside me. “Hey! I started reading the book and it's awesome. How did you pick it up?”
“I got it from my mom's collection”, I revealed.
“You have a whole collection?”, she questioned astonished. “What a life ...”
“You could always borrow one if you want to”, I offered.
“Are you kidding?”, she reassured.
“Of course not”, I promised.
“You're the best! Honestly I kinda feel bad though. I don't wanna use you for your books. How about hanging out sometime? But please not at your place unless Hiba isn't home”, she considered.
“I could come over to yours”, I suggested.
“Great! Just give me your number and I'll send you my address”, she agreed.
Said and done.
Afterwards Nadeen moved over to her usual spot next to Sarah. So I decided to listen to music with my headphones. The only thing that could compete with my love for books.
The school day passed by excruciatingly slowly, like time used to do for me by now. That was the thing when you did not have anything to look forward to.
But it changed when I got a message in the afternoon. A simple “Hi, it's Nadeen. Here's my address (…).”, followed by: “You can pretty much come over whenever. Even today if u want to.”
So it was a decision between reading and potentially making a new friend. Spending most of my free time in my room for the last few months was making this decision easy.
My phone was telling me that Nadeen's house was about a thirty minute walk away. So I did not have to consider to bike over. My bike was not exactly my best friend for countless reasons.
“Hey! You made it! Come on in”, Nadeen encouraged me as soon as she had opened the front door.
She did not hesitate to lead me to her room, getting a glass of water for me on the way.
The minute I entered her room my eyes were drawn to all the posters on her walls. A room could tell you a lot about the person and Nadeen seemed to be a fan of true crime and horror.
“Want some popcorn? I just started watching a movie”, she offered while sitting down on the bed and pointing to a bowl.
“Oh, yeah. Thanks”, I shot back taking some.
“You know you can sit down, right?”, she reassured, her voice slightly laced with amusement.
“Right”, I remarked and dropped down onto her bed. “I haven't been at someone's house for so long. It feels like I don't know how to hang out anymore.”
“Well with me it's basically chilling on the bed and watching some movie or talking, maybe playing some games or reading together”, she enlightened me.
“Sounds great”, I noted.
“Glad to hear that”, she proposed. “So what is it with you and Hiba?”
She took herself a hand full of popcorn.
“Sibling stuff, I guess. She turned into a jerk and I didn't wanna support that. Now I'm basically her nemesis and everyone stays away from me to not get on her bad side”, I explained.
“Wow ...”, Nadeen uttered. “Nah, I'm not scared of her.”
“Glad to hear that”, I repeated her words from earlier.
---------------------
So here's the first chapter of my new Nadeen series. What do you think about it? It will also be a lot about the relationship with Hiba. So it's kinda a two in one.

The Honor Of A Slytherin - Platonic Hermione Granger x fem reader

I was on my way to class when I heard the rustle. Another fight between Slytherins and Gryffindors.
Honestly I did not get it. Why did people have to be so narrow-minded?
As Slytherins prefect it felt like my duty to intervene. So I made my way over to the students fighting. Or rather Draco Malfoy bullying a Gryffindor girl.
I did not really know what this was about, but I did know Draco Malfoy. It was hard not to know him actually as he was behaving like a prince.
“What's going on here?”, I inquired when I arrived.
The girl looked up at me with spite in her eyes. I raised my eyebrow at that.
“That little mudblood just got on our nerves”, Draco declared.
I sighed at his choice of wording. “You really shouldn't talk like that”, I scolded him.
“Who do you think you are?”, he challenged me with a glare, his arms crossed in front of his chest.
How could a twelve-year-old be so cocky?
I smirked down at him, being easily a head taller than him. “Who do you think you are, talking to anyone like that? Do you seriously think you're better than her just because your family consists of wizards and witches? Could you beat her in a fair fight then? Or in an exam?”, I questioned.
I had no idea who that girl was, but the huge book she was carrying with her told me that she was hard-working.
The death glare he was sending me was kinda cute actually. I had put up with a lot of bullies before. My best friends were muggleborn and had therefore received many snarky remarks and even more. But this was just hilarious.
“Just go and leave her alone, Draco”, I advised him.
“You dare talk to me like that? Do you know who my father is?”, he threatened me.
“Of course I know”, I noted with a scoff. “He's a weak man who can only handle himself through connections, just like you.”
I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears at my comments.
From the corner of my eyes I could see the Gryffindor girl chuckling.
“If you don't mind I would like to head to class now. So do all of us a favor and just cut this childish behavior”, I requested.
Now he was furious, relying on his friends to stand a chance against me. But he had no idea who I was.
Their pathetic attempt at a spell was quickly deflected by me. Their wands were in my hand before they could even think of another spell.
“Hey! Give them back!”, Draco protested.
“I'll let Professor McGonagall deal with this. So if you don't want to get into any more trouble than you already are, you should leave now and go to class”, I considered.
They cursed as they walked away, but I could not care less. They were like little puppies making a scene, thinking they were a grown-up shepherd dog.
“Thanks for helping me out”, the Gryffindor girl proposed.
“No big deal”, I brushed it off. “I'm (f/n) by the way. If they make any more trouble you can always come to me. I'm the Slytherin prefect anyway.”
“I'm Hermione. Honestly I didn't know there were kind Slytherins as well”, she admitted.
“You shouldn't judge too quickly”, I remarked. “Our reputation is way ahead of most of us.”
“Yeah, I see that now. Are you a muggleborn as well?”, she wondered.
“No. Actually I'm a pureblood, but I don't really care about this whole blood status nonsense. It doesn't mean anything”, I pointed out.
“Doesn't feel like it sometimes”, Hermione mumbled.
I placed my hand on her shoulder to comfort her. “Don't let them drag you down! I'm sure you'll become a great witch. It doesn't matter what they think. As long as you have people who love you the way you are, that's all you need. You're a Gryffindor, right? Hold your head up high.”
She was beaming at my words as if I had just ignited a new fire inside her.
“I will”, she promised. “Thanks again.”
With those words she walked away to class.
I was going to be late. Great …
I hurried through the corridors until I arrived and opened the door.
“You're late, Miss (l/n)”, Professor McGonagall noted.
“I'm sorry, Professor. There was a fight between the second years and I couldn't just walk by. Draco Malfoy and his friends attacked me by the way. So I took their wands with me”, I explained and handed her their wands.
My professor smiled proudly at me. I was one of her best students. So she knew I was not just messing around.
“Alright then. Take your seat and try this new spell then. You can tell me more about this incident after class”, she suggested.
In the end I got the house points back we lost thanks to Malfoy.

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 6)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: grieving
word count: 981
--------------------
Going to Layan's memorial was harder than I had expected.
The whole day I was distracted, my head in the clouds. I was sure that Tasneem noticed as well, but she did not mention it.
Her mom drove us to the area and despite her suspicious glances, she let us go without any objections. But she did squeeze my shoulder before I left the car, showing me that she cared about me and knew how hard it was.
I appreciated the small gesture, especially because my mom had not even remembered that I was going to the memorial, although I had told her mere days ago.
Hesitantly I made my way over to the entrance, Tasneem following close by. It was like balancing on a zip line with no falling net underneath. One wrong step and I would be gone. Yet turning back was maybe even more dangerous than continuing my way.
The first thing I recognized when I entered the room were comfortable lights. But they quickly moved to the background when my eyes focused on the front; Layan's picture.
Suddenly my heart was clenching, the air thin once again. Thousands of memories flooded my mind despite my attempts to shut them down. I could not take it.
My mind and body were working on their own, all control gone for good as I fled back outside, trying to catch my breath again.
It was too late though. Her image was burned into my mind once again, her laugh resounding in my head. She was haunting me.
I flinched when a hand touched my shoulder. Everything was a blur as my mind was refusing to cope.
I sank to my knees, holding onto the railing. The raspy metal was somehow grounding me. Slowly Tasneem was returning back to my vision as she was crouching down in front of me, patiently waiting.
“I shouldn't have come”, I proposed. “It was a mistake. I'm not ready. I can't do this!”
Tasneem stayed silent for a few seconds, contemplating what to say.
“You're right. Maybe you aren't ready. But will you ever be? I think that you need this. That's why you came in the first place. You knew you were strong enough to handle it, move on to be able to cherish what you had instead of being stuck in your grief forever”, she considered. “You may think you can't do this right now, but I know you can.”
She was not just trying to comfort and encourage me. One look into her eyes was telling me that she was sincere. So I let her pull me up into her arms.
“Hey, (f/n)!” Rania's voice reached my ears.
I could not help but let go of Tasneem and throw myself into Rania's arms.
I had not seen her for so long and it was comforting that she was here. She was the one who knew best how I was feeling. After all Layan had been her best friend.
“I'm glad you came”, Rania whispered into my ear.
“Thanks for letting me know”, I shot back, reluctantly letting go of her again.
“Hey, Noaf”, I greeted the other girl with a short smile and wave, which she returned.
“This is Tasneem”, I introduced her.
I was not sure if Tasneem was fine with revealing our relationship status. So I left that part out.
We all talked for a little while before going inside.
“You're going to play a song?”, I assumed, pointing at Rania's guitar bag.
“Yeah. It just feels like the right thing to do, you know? We used to sing and play a lot together”, Rania recalled.
“Miss Abeer still isn't here”, Noaf noticed.
“Miss Abeer is coming as well?”, Tasneem remarked shocked.
“She was our homeroom teacher after all”, Rania noted.
“She's still processing Layan's death, just like we are”, I added. “We've been talking regularly. She was the only one who supported me in the beginning.”
“I never pictured her like that”, Tasneem admitted.
“She's strict, but she cares a lot”, Rania declared. “Let's go outside and wait for her”, she encouraged Noaf.
A few minutes later they returned with Miss Abeer, Tasneem and me already planted on our seats.
I could feel Miss Abeer's eyes boring into the back of my head, making me turn around to send her a soft smile.
She rose her eyebrow at Tasneem who was not paying attention to our non-verbal conversation. I simply nodded at my teacher and turned back around to rest my head on my girlfriends shoulder.
Without any hesitation she held my hand. Nobody would question the gesture during such an emotional situation.
When Rania began playing and singing my mind started drifting off.
I remembered how Layan used to sing for me. I saw her laughing right in front of me, taking my hand to pull me with her. How she was dressing up and posing to impress me. How we were laying in her bed late at night, not able to stop talking.
And suddenly it all disappeared like it had never happened to begin with. Like the music Rania had created mere seconds ago had been everything that had made the memories exist in the first place.
I realized that I was clinging to Tasneem's arm like it was my life line. Somehow it was. It was my constant reminder not to give up hope, that good things could still happen, no matter how pointless it was feeling.
Now they were all gathering around Rania for a group hug while I was frozen in place.
Tasneem pulled me into her arms to let me cry. She was shielding me from the rest of the world and despite the excruciating pain it felt like I could get through this; with enough time.
---------------------
I watched the scene again to write this chapter and i just always tear up. Like seriously ... Rania's facial expressions and the crack of her voice are just on point. And the way she's signaling Mariam to sit down. It's all so heartbreaking!

The Price Of Family - Draco Malfoy x sister reader
Tumblr media

--------------------
Being a Malfoy was not coming naturally to me.
For starters I despised the whole pureblood supremacy shit. Not even talking about the dark lord.
At school I was an outcast. Most Slytherins stayed away from me due to my beliefs which I did not hesitate to declare. A lot of other students avoided me because of my brother.
Luna was one of the only people I truly came along with. Maybe because she was the odd one out as well. I loved that about her though. She was true to herself and never questioned being herself. It was inspiring honestly.
But there were also somerismatic and cunning twins who I liked to hang around with. It was always fun to be with Fred and George and they did not care about my family. They saw me and not just my name.
Draco and I used to come along well when we were younger and life easier. But he preferred impressing our father over me nowadays and we were drifting apart the more time passed.
The year was over sooner than I had wished for.
I was sitting in a train compartment with Luna and Neville, enjoying our conversation. At the same time I could not help but dread the end of this ride. The summer break was the worst time of the year for me.
So I hesitated to say goodbye to my friends to join the family reunion that was already taking place at the gate.
Our parents were delighted to see Draco. They were all smiling and talking. Sometimes I wondered if I should just not return home one day to improve all our lives. But that would feel like running away and everything inside of me was clenching at the thought of giving up when it was getting hard.
Reluctantly I stepped over to my family who actually greeted me properly.
Our mother let us talk about our school year the whole way home. But as soon as we arrived I escaped into my room.
I unpacked my stuff immediately to get it done quickly. But that did not work out as I was interrupted by Draco bursting into my room.
“I've wanted to talk to you for a long time now”, he proclaimed.
“You can't just come into my room like that”, I noted.
“Of course I can and I just did”, he insisted. “The Weasley twins? Seriously? Do you want to ruin our reputation for good?”
“Just get out”, I shot back.
“I won't. You may not care about our family, but I do. I wasn't exactly excited when you started hanging out with that Ravenclaw weirdo, but this is a different level. Why do you keep interacting with blood traitors?”, he ranted.
“This is stupid”, I mumbled, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
“The future of our family is a joke to you? When did all of that even happen? You used to hang around the right people”, he recalled.
“Oh, you mean your friends? Our rather the kids of our parents' friends? They're narrow-minded and total jerks”, I stated.
“What did you just say?” He growled, getting dangerously close.
“Drop the act, Draco! I'm not scared of you”, I enlightened him.
“You should be”, he warned me.
“You're weak, Draco. Always have been. You only do what everyone around is expecting you to do”, I proposed.
My brother clenched his fist before snapping his fingers and that way calling one of our house elves. “Go and get my father”, he ordered.
“That's another thing. You all treat the house elves like shit. I just don't get it. They're doing so much for us. A little appreciation and kindness isn't too much to ask for”, I remarked.
“What is going on here?”, our father questioned.
“(f/n)'s going insane. She's spending all her time with blood traitors and wants us to treat the house elves better”, Draco revealed.
“Is that so?”, father reassured.
I gulped. Honestly I was slightly scared of him because he was always afraid our family honor may be at risk.
“It is”, I confirmed.
“Alright then. I've given you enough time to redeem yourself. It's time for you to learn the hard way”, he announced.
“What do you mean?”, I inquired anxiously.
“You're going to spend the summer with your aunt. Maybe she can put you back on the right path”, he considered.
I could feel all color drain from my face. “You mean aunt Bellatrix? Are you serious? She's a maniac”, I reminded him.
“Don't talk about your family like that! Apparently I failed to teach you properly. Maybe I was too soft on you. I'm sure she won't be”, he assumed.
“No, you … you can't do that”, I protested.
Now I was scared to no end. Facing my father was one thing, but my aunt. That was a completely different story.
“I'm taking your wand in the meantime”, he decided.
My wand flew his way with a flick of his own before I could react.
“I'll contact Bellatrix immediately. You don't get to take anything with you. I'm sure she can provide you with the essentials. Draco, you will watch over your sister until your aunt arrives to make sure she doesn't do anything reckless”, he ordered.
“Yes, father”, Draco replied obediently, although he was looking a bit paler than before as well.
My mind was racing to find a way to get out. Suddenly I wished I had just run away after all.

Caught on Camera - Shams x fem reader (Chapter 8)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: none
word count: 1.186
----------------
When I woke up in the morning I immediately noticed that the space next to me was empty. Apparently Shams had already left.
I was torn between the urge to look for her and the urge to take a shower first. Considering how dirty I was feeling I decided for a shower and got dressed in some of Shams' clothes, hoping that she would not be mad. I was not too eager to get back in uniform.
When I left her room and moved upstairs I could already hear some chatting and laughing, followed by a delicious smell.
Shams and Omar where sitting at the kitchen table while an unfamiliar woman, most likely their mom, was making breakfast.
Shams flashed me a smile as soon as she saw me, leading her brother to raise an eyebrow.
“I didn't know you could smile”, he teased her, a big grin planted on his face.
“Oh, shut up!”, she demanded and slapped his shoulder.
“Good morning, (f/n). Shams already told me that you're here. I'm Nayan. Nice to have you here”, she greeted me.
“Thanks”, I replied, suddenly feeling shy.
It should not be a big deal. After all she was just a mom of a friend. But after last night Shams' and my relationship was somehow feeling more intimate than that of a casual friend.
“I already thought you'd miss breakfast”, Shams proposed. “Didn't wanna wake you up though.”
I sat down next to her as Omar was sitting across from her, while sending her a small smile as a reply.
“Oh, by the way, (f/n). Ali told me that he wanted to message you, but that he didn't have your number. Do you mind?”, Omar wondered.
For a second Shams' face fell, but she quickly hid it again. Maybe I had just imagined it.
“Nah. I don't have insta or tiktok. But Shams can give you my number. Although you can tell him right away that I'm not interested in any more than friendship”, I declared.
“Alright. I'll tell him”, he assured me.
“So what are you all up to today?”, Nayan inquired as she placed all the food on the table.
“This looks delicious. Thank you”, I proclaimed.
“It's nothing really”, she brushed it off.
I could not even remember the last time my mom had made breakfast for me. So it kinda was a big deal.
“I'm gonna study and later meet up with the guys”, Omar announced while digging into breakfast.
“Do you wanna hang out today?”, Shams asked me.
“Sure. I'll text my mom, if you can get me a charger. My phone died on me”, I pointed out.
We all continued talking during breakfast and afterwards cleaned everything up together. To my surprise I enjoyed doing chores for once. It was a whole different thing when you were spending time together while doing it.
“So what do you wanna do?”, Shams questioned back in her room.
My phone was already charging by now.
“Let's finish the school project first. So we won't have to think about that anymore. Then we can do something fun”, I suggested.
Knowing that we would hang out after finishing was a great motivator for me, leading to seemingly endless concentration.
After one more hour we were finally done with the project, putting everything away contently.
“I'm beat”, Shams declared. “How about some video games?”
“Oh yeah”, I agreed excited. “What do you have?”
We settled on a car racing game. Shams was incredibly good at it.
“Finished”, she announced once again.
“How do you do that so fast?”, I complained.
“Not that hard”, she claimed, a teasing grin on her face.
I should have kept my eyes on the road because I ended up crashing my car, thanks to looking at her.
“You should probably practice some more though”, she suggested, her voice dripping with amusement.
“Yeah, I get it! I'm just a hopeless case”, I half-joked.
“How about some other game then?”, Shams questioned.
But no matter how many games we tried, Shams always won. No matter how hard I tried and how relaxed she appeared.
“So what is it with you and Ali?”, Shams asked casually.
“We just talked at Omar's party. That's all”, I brushed it off. “Why?”
“Just curious”, she claimed.
Suddenly my phone started ringing, ripping me out of the flow of the game. Of course it had to be now out of all times when I was finally getting the upper hand for once.
I put my controller aside and hurried over to my phone to accept the call.
“Hey, mom”, I greeted her.
“Hey, sorry to bother you, (f/n). But could you come home and help me with the garden, please? Tasmana is on vacation, remember? And you know I always ruin the garden. It already looks horrendous. It can't wait any longer”, she ranted.
“Okay, mom. Calm down. It's alright. Can you pick me up though?”, I requested.
“Of course! I'll be right there”, she declared and hung up.
I sighed. “I gotta head out”, I enlightened Shams.
Her smile quickly fell. “Oh, okay.”
“I'll bring your clothes to school if that's alright”, I suggested, already grabbing my backpack.
“Sure. I'll accompany you to the door”, she remarked.
I said goodbye to Nayan on the way out. Omar was probably in his room as I did not see him anywhere around.
Shams followed me outside, waiting with me for my mom.
“Shams”, I called out her name, taking a deep breath to gather my courage. “Thank you for last night. You know … comforting me like that. Nobody's ever done that and you were there for me so many times already. I still feel like a jerk for treating you so badly before. You really deserve better.”
Her dark eyes met mine. “I didn't do that much. And you changed and apologized. There's nothing more you can do. So apology accepted”, she noted.
As none of us was breaking eye-contact, we were simply staring at each other.
The space between us was shrinking as my heart was bumping against my chest.
The vibration in my pocked startled me so much that I literally jumped backwards, almost falling over in the process.
“I'm here. Are you coming out?”, my mom wondered.
She could not see us because the gate was closed.
“On my way”, I promised and hung up again.
“See you at school then”, Shams stated.
I nodded and sent her a quick smile followed by a short “bye” before heading to the car.
I had not imagined the tension between us, right?
“Hey”, my mom greeted me once again. “Are you okay? Your face is really red. Are you getting a fever?”
“I'm fine”, I mumbled, my head full of questions.

Can you write about Layan and her toxic personality, who ignores her girlfriend in front of people, but something happens that makes her confess to her 🙇🏼‍♀️ (I don’t know what the thing is) Think of something, please! Thank you.
Of course! But if reader is already her girlfriend, what would Layan need to confess?

Sneak peak of the Nadeen series I'm writing

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 5)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: none, i think
word count: 937
----------------------
“Are you coming to Omar's birthday party tomorrow night? I'd really love you to be there”, Tasneem proposed.
Once again we were cuddling on her bed after school.
“Sorry, but I can't. I already have plans”, I enlightened her.
“What plans?”, Tasneem wondered, looking down at me.
I had not wanted to tell her at all, maybe after it was all over. After all she had been looking forward to Omar's birthday party for quite some time now as they were pretty good friends. Honestly it surprised me that she had waited so long to ask me to come along. Although she had probably just assumed that I would agree to tag along anyway.
“You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It's okay”, she reassured me. “It's not like you're obliged to tell me where you are just because I'm your girlfriend.”
“That's not it. I just … I'm going to a memorial for Layan. And I didn't want to tell you because I was scared that you'd feel weird about it or wouldn't be able to enjoy the party”, I admitted.
“Do you want me to come?”, she offered.
“You don't have to.”
She interrupted me: “I know. That's why I asked if you wanted me to come.”
“I don't want you to miss out and feel out of place”, I noted.
“Still not what I asked”, she reminded me.
“Okay”, I snapped. “I want you to come! Happy now?”
She gently stroke through my hair, calming me down again. “I'll come”, she promised.
I wanted to resist again. It felt like I did not deserve her kindness, her support. But at the same time I desperately tried to resonate with myself. After all it was probably my grief that was talking, the urge to isolate myself. The guilt of not being able to save Layan that was gnawing at me. The guilt that was trapping me, telling me that I deserved to suffer.
But it was all in the past. It still hurt of course and rationally thinking it should. Layan had been incredibly precious to me after all.
Yet Tasneem was with me now and I did not want to miss out on my life with her over the one I had lost with Layan. There simply was no going back in time. And considering it was making me feel torn.
Because even if I could change the past, it would mean to lose Tasneem. So the what if scenario was not soothing in the slightest.
“I'm sorry for yelling at you”, I apologized.
“It's nothing really. Hiba's way worse, you know”, she claimed.
“I still don't like it. I don't wanna hurt you”, I noted.
“Like I did when you visited me for the first time?”, she wondered.
“Is it still bothering you?”, I inquired.
I took her hand that was caressing me and turned around a bit to be able to look up at her properly.
“Kinda”, she admitted. “You didn't deserve that.”
“But you needed to vent”, I pointed out. “You were just not used to talking about your feelings. That's why you talked me down. Of course, it wasn't the right way to handle it, but you did all you could. Apologize and not repeat it. There's no need to beat yourself up over it.”
She softly smiled down at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
“But about Hiba”, I changed the topic, sadly making her smile falter. “I really think you should talk to her.”
“Did you forget how she treated you? She literally threatened you”, she recalled.
I had told her about the bathroom incident. Not to screw Hiba, but to get it off my chest.
“Just view it from her perspective. You two have been best friends and all of a sudden you started hanging out with Sarah, placing her over everything and everyone else, including her. I bet she feels like you replaced her and that's why she's acting out so much. She misses and needs you. Now you're spending pretty much all your time with me, which I'm not complaining about by the way. But I think it's understandable for her to be jealous and feel left out”, I considered.
There was a small moment of silence as she was taking my words in.
“Shit”, she cursed quietly. “Why do you always have to be right?”
“Naturally gifted”, I joked, earning a laugh from her. “You could ask her to spend the weekend with you.”
“But we already have plans”, she reminded me.
“Which won't disappear until the next weekend”, I remarked. “I don't want to force you to do anything, but that way you can find out how to handle the situation. You know what your therapist advised you.”
“Be blunt with the people I care about instead of holding up a facade. Yeah, I know”, she declared.
“So what do you think?”, I questioned.
“Okay, I'll try. I do miss her”, she confessed. “Although I really don't wanna leave you alone after tomorrow.”
“Maybe I can hang out with Rania”, I suggested. “I haven't seen her in a long time.”
“Who's Rania?”, Tasneem wondered.
“Layan's best friend. We also came along well, but we kinda lost each other after Layan's death. Were too busy grieving, I guess”, I enlightened her.
“I'll text Hiba then”, she proposed.
I only hoped that it would all work out.
