Birthday Surprise (Twinleaf Shipping)
******PART 5*****
Barry’s POV:
“Sounds like a plan,” Dawn said, as she hung up the phone. Barry stood dead still, the ring of the dial tone humming in his ear. Why was he still so hesitant about going through with telling Dawn his true feelings? He knew he needed to do it, or it would drive him insane. It felt like his mind was at a constant tug of war with itself, one side wanting to stay comfortable, and the other wanting more… wanting Dawn.
“I need to get out of my head,” Barry whispered, as he set his phone back on its stand. “All this overthinking is starting to give me a headache,” he groaned, softly massaging his temples. Despite knowing that he needed to calm down, Barry couldn’t help but focus on all the outcomes that could possibly happen with Dawn, especially the ones that ended in disaster. He sighed and flicked his hair in a haphazard motion, as his feet set pace around his room. “Ok, ok calm down. There’s no need in worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet.” Barry tried to convince himself.
Barry belly flopped on his bed in utter panic for his meeting with Dawn. Just as he buried his head in the crater of his pillow, a light rapping came from his bedroom door.
With a loud groan, Barry forced his body to move as he plopped off of his bed.
“Who is it,” Barry squeaked as he dragged himself to the door.
“The one who birthed you,” Barry’s mother answered.
“Coming,” Barry muttered, finally making his way to the door.
“Yes?” Barry grumbled, poking his head out of the small gap that the door formed.
“Well, look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.” Barry’s mother shook her head, taking notice of her son’s lethargic demeanor. “I just wanted to talk to you about the details of your birthday party. We have the location and catering and all figured out,  we just need to go over who has RSVPed.”
“Oh yeah, that’s right.” Barry shuffled to his bedside table and picked up a hap-hazardly folded piece of paper, and handed it to his mom. “Here’s the checklist so far,”
His mom scanned over the slip of paper, before folding it back up, and placing it in her pocket. “Ok, looks like there’s going to be anywhere from around 50-75 people, friends and family and all… Oh! I see you’ve finally invited Dawn” her smile growing wider.
Barry gulped down his uprising nerves. If there was one thing he was most nervous about, it was whether or not Dawn would actually still show up to his party.
What if after my meeting with her, she never talks to me again! She might feel awkward about our relationship and fall silent to me. Of course, that means she’s gonna miss my party too…” his thoughts were now racing in and out of all the case scenarios once again.
“I see I struck a nerve there, honey. Sorry about that!” Barry’s mom chuckled, taking notice of her son’s silence. “Ok, I’ll leave you be,” she finally huffed, walking to the door, before turning to her son one last time. “Oh, and be sure to wear something nice dear. It doesn’t have to be fancy, maybe just a nice vest or something?” his mom said before marching off to her room.
“Ok,” Barry replied and proceeded to belly flop onto his bed. He let out a big groan at the moment of impact. How the hell am I gonna tell Dawn how I really feel? What if she leaves town for good because she just can’t stand the embarrassment? What if she tells everyone that and laughs in my face! I don’t know how I could possibly live with it! Once again, Barry was subject to indecision about whether he should even go through with it. No! I have to! I’ve been wanting to tell her for the past 8 years! I can’t do it at the party, that’ll draw attention. Yes, it has to be Wednesday… and just like ripping off a band aid, it’ll be quick and done!

Stormed In (Palletshipping)
****ONE-SHOT (RATING: LEMON, BOYXBOY, YAOI)****
“W-well this is just g-great,” Ash shivered, as he stepped into a hollow semi-dry cave. “I’d say we’re going to be stuck here for at least a couple of hours, or until the storm dies down a little…” he looked up to the sky that was now flooded with storm clouds, and shook his head in disbelief. Just an hour ago, the weather was absolutely beautiful, with not a cloud in sight. “Geez, what a mess we’re in.”
“Well, Ashy boy, we’d be back at the lab by now if you hadn’t insisted on observing all of those Pidgey back on route 2,” Gary nagged, crossing his arms.
Ash rolled his eyes a little. How could he be this lucky. It was just a couple of weeks ago that he had decided to come back to Sinnoh partake in pokemon research, and today was supposed to be his ‘perfect’ first day. Instead, it was all but perfect. It all started when he woke up to his sickly Pikachu with a case of electrical overcharge. This both forced Pikachu to stay at the Pokemon Center, and caused Ash to miss the morning meeting where the all the new researchers got paired up with one another. Ash was happy to hear that he could still tag along in a quick day research assignment with a senior researcher, but his excitement quickly died when he found out that his partner was none other than Gary Oak. The same Gary Oak he just so happened to know since he was in diapers. The same Gary Oak that for some unknown reason, has always talked down to him.
“Well, it’s not my fault that a storm decided to sneak up on us on our way back to the lab,” Ash snapped back.
“Sure, blame it on Mother Nature, typical Ash!” Gary taunted, a hint of playfulness in his voice. For some reason beyond him, he kind of enjoyed seeing Ash get all flustered.
Actually, to say that Ash was flustered was an understatement. Instead, he was quite fed up with Gary. Ash turned away from Gary, deciding not to react. He started to trudge further into the cave. He thought he might as well explore what kind of pokemon live here.
Gary took notice of Ash’s inactive response, and frowned. As much as he liked seeing Ash squirm, he also knew that he could be a little overpowering at times. Although Gary felt like he couldn’t help it when it came to Ash. There was just something about him that made Gary’s heart feel confused about his true feelings for the younger boy. The only way Gary could think of defending himself was through teasing.
“Hey, Ash. What are you doing now?! You’re just gonna get lost, and then I’m gonna have to come find you.” Gary laughed.
Ash rolled his eyes before looking back at Gary “I might as well see what pokemon live in this cave. Just stay there. I don’t want to be around you!” Ash yelled back not caring anymore about his manners.
Gary sighed as he watched Ash wander further down the cave. I did it again didn’t I? he thought to himself If only I could just figure out how I feel about Ash, then maybe I could just be honest… No, what am I thinking?!? I can’t do that! There’s no telling what Ash will say or do!!!! Gary looked at Ash again, who was almost out of sight All I know is that I want to keep watching him…
Just as Ash was about to disappear from Gary’s line of vision, Gary impulsively started to walk further into the cave, following Ash’s trail. I just want to see what he's gonna do Gary reasoned with himself, as he picked up his pace. Being the quick mover that he is, Gary caught up with Ash in a matter of 30 seconds. It wasn’t until he was within 10 feet of the younger boy that Gary decided to start tiptoeing closer.
Gary’s secret pursuit only lasted for a couple of minutes before Ash finally turned around and spoke up “Geez Gary, I know you’re following me. Why don’t you just leave me alone! You don’t have to follow me around just for another chance to tell me that you don’t like me, ok?!? I get it!!” Ash shouted out.
Hearing this made Gary’s blood pressure rise. How did he know that I was following him?!? Gary asked himself. Then again, I guess we are in a cave, so sound travels… Well…I guess there’s no going back now Gary shrugged.
“Um, yeah. Sorry A-ash,” Gary stuttered out, suddenly nervous. “I just um.” Gary gulped fighting to form a cohesive sentence.
“Well, spit it out!” Ash said, somewhat annoyed at his so-called partner’s actions.
Gary breathed in, reaching deep inside to find his courage. He smiled as he stalked closer to Ash “Look Ash, I just really wanted to keep watching you.” Gary said earnestly.
Noticing that Gary was starting to get closer, Ash started to step back further and further. It’s not that he was afraid of Gary or anything, but more like that he wasn’t sure quite was going on.
“Oh, yeah?” Ash stammered slightly “W-why is that exactly?!?” Ash felt the heat rising in his face. “I thought you disliked me.”
“Why Ashy, I wish I knew the answer to that. I wish I knew exactly why everything you do drives me crazy. It makes me feel… weird inside, so I resort to teasing you.” Gary spoke with genuine emotion as he continued his advance.
As the day would have it, luck was not on Ash’s side, and before he knew it, he found himself trapped between the cave wall, and his rival.
“Woah, Gary… are you alright?” Ash quivered, slightly concerned. Never before had he seen Gary like this. “What has gotten into you?”
“Honestly, I’m not sure anymore,” Gary laughed as he finally closed the space between him and Ash. “Maybe the question should be, what have I been holding in,” He pinned the younger boy against the wall, and slowly brought his lips to his ear. “Sometimes I feel like I’m going out of my mind whenever you’re around. You ignite a fire inside me, Ash… it gives me jitters… explain that to me.” Gary murmured, his voice dropping lower with each sentence.
“Well… uhhhh,” Ash tried his best to reply, but any words he tried to form fell to wordless anticipation. However, amidst his uneasiness, he found himself enjoying their position, maybe a little too much for just being rivals. He could feel a tingling sensation circling through his knees, which rendered them unsteady. In fact, if Gary hadn’t been holding him up, he surely would have fallen by now. A new heat began rising in the raven haired boy’s body. A once angered ferver was now mixed with a sensual warmth, a deadly combination of emotions that made the blood rush to his face. In this moment, he was definitely grateful to whatever God that he was in a cave. If Gary were to see the blush he was sporting, he would undoubtedly never live it down. “M-maybe, you like-” Ash shuddered.
“Like what?” Gary cooed, as he breathed in Ash’s heat, his body practically attached to his.
“Not what… who…” Ash hummed weakly, unsure of how much more of this he could take. An ever growing lust for the older boy was festering inside of him. He needed Gary, and he needed him soon.
“I guess you’ve got me, there Ashy boy.” Gary whispered seductively. He could feel the sweat from Ash’s clothes start to seep into his. Ash tried to hold in a moan as best he could, but accidentally let some of it come out. This only made Gary’s craving for Ash stronger, and he wasn’t sure how much more he could hold back. He wanted Ash all for himself, to claim him as strictly his. He was fairly confident that Ash felt the same way, after all he wasn’t running away was he?
“Gary freaking Oak,” Ash moaned using the rest of his energy “You’re good at teasing me, and now’s no different. Is that w-what you want me to say?”
Gary gasped in shock of Ash’s bluntness, but was grateful for the hint. From there, Gary wasted no more time. Within seconds, his mouth found its way to the side of Ash’s neck. The reaction was almost immediate as Ash let out an appeased groan. The butterflies in the younger boy’s stomach were up and flying once again, as in a second flat, his hands made their way to Gary’s bottom, pulling them closer. Taking some charge, he slipped his hand underneath Gary’s boxers, and started to slide his fingers lightly up and down Gary’s opening. The two boys were now grinding against one another, in a desperate hunger for the other.
Gary made quick work with his hands, as they crawled under Ash’s shirt. His fingers roamed up and down Ash’s torso several times, before finding rest on Ash’s hard nipples. Taking the mounds between his fingers, Gary started to twist them. The motion was soft and sweet at the start, but the more Ash whimpered, the rougher Gary got.
Ash groaned as his free hand roamed to the front of Gary’s body, quickly finding the older boy’s hard on. At the same time, Ash grasped Gary’s length, and inserted two fingers in Gary’s scorching hole. Ash began pumping slowly on both ends, which made Gary hiss in deep pleasure.
“Damn, Ash,” Gary breathed “Harder, faster!!! Please!!” Both boys were starting to grow tired, but they both couldn’t stop their pace. After all, they were only getting started.
Ash started to pump as hard as he could, which made Gary rock his head back and his hips forward. For a couple of seconds, it was safe to say he was putty in the younger boy’s hands. Regaining some composure, Gary bounced back, and finally crashed his mouth onto Ash’s. Their tongues frantically fought for dominance over the other. Deciding to play dirty, Ash squeezed Gary’s length just enough to make the older boy gasp in shock. This was all Ash needed to overtake Gary’s tongue, and enter his mouth. Ash smirked, quite pleased with himself, as he took Gary’s bottom lip between his teeth, and lightly sucked.
Gary shook his head, appalled at Ash’s actions. “Now Ash, you know boys who don’t play fair get punished” Gary growled as he hastily spun Ash around, so that the raven haired boy was in the “little spoon” position. “It’s a good thing I’m here to teach you a lesson or two,” Finding his second wind, Gary started to vigorously grind against Ash, and within seconds Ash fell into pleasured silence.
Unsatisfied with Ash’s level of volume, Gary picked up his pace. “C’mon Ashy boy. Don’t fight it. I want you to scream out my name, tell me what you want” Gary firmly demanded.
Ash’s eyes rolled to the back of his head “g-ggARy, please, I NEED YOU INSIDE ME PLEASE” Ash shouted hard of breath. The gyrations Gary produced were going to be enough to push Ash over his edge right then and there, but he had to hold out for just a little bit longer.
“See? Was that so hard? Now, you were a bad boy, Ash. I’ll have you know that I could just stop everything right now, but lucky for you, I’m feeling nice today. Strip down” Gary commanded, and Ash quickly complied. Gary also unzipped his pants, and whipped out his fully lengthened member, lightly pressing it against Ash’s entrance “Is this what you need Ashy?” Gary smirked.
“GOD GARY, YES! PLEASE FINISH ME OFF!!!” Ash yelled at the top of his lungs, on the brink of insanity.
Happy with the response, Gary finally shoved himself into Ash with all his might, extracting a gratified trill from him. “Geez, Ash. Too bad I can’t see you very well. I’d bet you look so sexy right now with me inside of you,” Gary grunted, starting to pump back and forth.
Ash let out another string of soft groans, and bucked his hips back and forth to help Gary reach his G spot. “Damn it, Gary, I’m really freaking close!”
Taking notice of Ash’s encouragement, Gary started to pump harder and faster. Sweat beaded the older boy’s entire body from head to toe as he kept pumping. It wasn’t long before his quick and structured movements became sloppy and careless. “Hold on, Ash! Just a couple more,” Gary said with three lasts thrusts, before he finally pulled out. Both boys screamed out for the other as they reached their climaxes, their bodies moving as if they just got electrocuted.
At last, both boys found themselves coming down once again. The once cold air in the cave was now hot and humid. A comfortable silence hung in the air, as both boys put their pants back on.
Fiddling with his zipper, Ash let out a small giggle; Gary looked over his way. “What’s so funny?” he asked the younger boy.
“Oh, it’s nothing…” Ash said coyly. “It’s just… promise me that we can do that again sometime?” Ash blushed
Gary smirked as his hand caressed Ash’s chin, pressing a quick peck on the raven haired boy’s lips. “Oh we definitely will. After all, we’re research partners aren’t we?”

A Hot Mess (Nalu)
Here’s a little Nalu ONESHOT LEMON for y’all! Be sure to reblog, like, comment, and all that good stuff!
**************
"You know Lucy, sometimes all you do is make me a hot mess," Natsu slammed Lucy against the wall, and lowered his lips to her ear. "It's only fair to do the same to you,"
Lucy shuddered in nervous anticipation "Natsu, what the heck has gotten into you?!" Lucy quivered. To say the least, she was honestly confused about how she and Natsu ended up in this position. One moment they were attending a fancy dinner party in their guild's honor, and the next, she finds herself being dragged out to the backside of the building by a certain fiery redhead.
Natsu's eyes grew dark. "Lucy, you know exactly what I'm talking about," his voice lowered "Don't think that I don't see other guys trying to flirt with you in there," he said, flicking one of her loose bangs behind her ear. "I'm not mad at you, or anything. But I'll have you know it still drives me mad…" he barked "I just want to quickly remind you that we're together now. I don't want to lose you,"
Lucy looked at Natsu. His lustful eyes were shamelessly plundering her body, examining every curve and bump. It was as if he had just ordered a double cheeseburger, after having not eaten for three days.
Natsu brought his nose to the nape of Lucy's neck, and proceeded to take in her scent. "Hmmmm, vanilla with a hint of coconut," Natsu half growled in a possessive voice "That's my favorite perfume of yours." he asked, pushing himself up against Lucy just a little bit more.
Lucy's eyes widened in shock "It is?! Uh, glad you like it! It's actually my favorite too..." Lucy trailed off, not really knowing what to say next. This entire conversation was just getting weirder and weirder. She had never really seen this side of Natsu before.
"You're so soft." Natsu purred, as he took a loose strand of Lucy's hair and carefully caressed it between his fingers. "That's another thing I just love about you."
Lucy touched her hand to Natsu's face, looking deep into his lust flooded eyes. "Natsu, do we really have to do this right now? Why don't we go back to the party, and…" Lucy stopped mid sentence, as she felt Natsu's hand trail its way to her backside.
Gasping at her lover's sudden advance, Lucy bit her lip ever so slightly in an attempt to hold back a moan. Natsu grinned smugly "Now, Lucy…" his free hand made its way to her chin, and guided it so her eyes were met with his. "Do you really want me to stop?" Natsu whispered mischievously in her ear. "Because, we both know I could make you feel so good right now,"
"Nat-su," Lucy managed to stammer out. She was indeed close to her breaking point. "What about the party? What if people…"
"Find us?" Natsu finished her sentence. "Good, then they'll know I'm yours," he brushed his lips to hers, leaving only millimeters between them. Lucy's head spun to the edge of insanity. Any thoughts about going back to the party were slowly being replaced with other more sensual activities.
"C'mon Lucy, just give in and live a little. Didn't you ever want to get frisky behind our guild hall?" Natsu interrogated, slightly laughing.
Lucy giggled "Natsu, you're absolutely insane…" she secured her arms around his neck, bringing him in closer, if that was even possible. "But you know I can't resist your touch," she smirked, finally smashing her lips to his, closing the gap between them.
Knowing that he had obtained a victory, Natsu's hands planted themselves on Lucy's hips, and firmly gripped them, prompting Lucy to jump and wrap her legs around Natsu's waist. The heat between their bodies grew exponentially as Natsu took the liberty to massage Lucy's chest. Lucy threw back her head in ecstasy, trying her best to suppress another influx of pleasurable moans from escaping her lips. Natsu shook his head "Don't try to be quiet Lucy, that's only going to make me try harder," Natsu warned, attaching his lips to her neck, starting to suck gently.
Lucy grabbed a chunk of the red head's hair with each hand. With every second that passed, Lucy found herself being sucked further and further into the dragon slayer's spell. How could someone drive her to the brink of hysteria? At this point, it was safe to say she was practically puddy in his hands. With reckless abandon, her lips found her boyfriend's ear. Delicately nipping at it, she amassed the energy to speak audibly "Natsu, please…" Lucy groaned, struggling to form a sentence.
"Wow Lucy," he gawked, as his fingers tugged at the zipper of her mini skirt. "Didn't anyone teach you to use your words?" he chuckled "Tell me what you want," he teased. Of course, he knew exactly what she wanted, but there was something about watching her squirm that underlined his masculinity.
"Shut up, Natsu!" Lucy managed to breathe out "I need you to do something down there. I need you inside of me right now!" Lucy demanded.
"See, that's not so hard," he said, as he slid his hand under her panties, and slowly entered three fingers inside her core with ease. "Well someone's a wet little minx today," Natsu breathed out as he started slowly pumping. Lucy's eyes immediately rolled to the back of her skull, and her grip on Natsu's hair tightened with each pump.
"God, Lucy. You're so tight." Natsu groaned, releasing his fingers from her core, making Lucy pout a little in protest. That displeasure, however, was soon replaced with unparalleled bliss as Natsu, unbuckled his shorts and whipped out his rock hard member.
"I'm gonna have you screaming my name Lucy," Natsu challenged as he finally entered himself into her. With one thrust, Natsu was completely submerged by her walls. Wasting no time, he started pumping fast and hard. After all, that's exactly how Lucy liked it. Their lips met once again, fighting urgently for dominance over one another. Moving in perfect sync their bodies supplemented each other's movements, almost as if they were performing an ancient lovers dance.
With each thrust, Natsu's form grew sloppy, indicating he was reaching his climax. "Lucy," he panted between kisses "Where are you right now,"
Lucy shuddered trying to move to a comfortable position, in an attempt to prolong her release "I'm about to cave," she muttered. "Please… faster… RIGHT THERE" she yelped out, bucking her hips to help Natsu reach her sweet spot.
With that, Natsu's momentum found motivation once again, finishing them both off.
Lucy screamed, slightly banging her head against the wall. "NATSSUUU, FUCK, yes…"
"You're doing amazing, Luce. Just hang in there for a couple more seconds..." Natsu huffed, giving one last thrust. This was enough to send them both over their edges and then some. Shock waves of electricity jolted through their bodies as they climaxed. Silence hung like a curtain between them, with the exception of their lungs gasping for air.
After sometime, Lucy broke the silence between them "Natsu," she spoke with a soft and caring tone "You're never going to lose me," Lucy smiled, pulling him in for a quick peck on the cheek.
Natsu smiled pridefully at Lucy, as both of them remained suspended comfortably in each other's embrace.

Smile (Lilacshipping)
So here’s a little oneshot for y’all! Hope you like it.
****(RATING: CUTE/FLUFF)****
Officer Jenny was never one to lose her cool, but today however was an exception. At the moment, she found herself outside of the operating room at the Castelia City pokemon center. She started pacing back and forth in an attempt to take her mind off of her current situation. She remembered what led her there all too well…
… Just an hour ago, she and Herdier were called to investigate a ‘worrying commotion’ on route 4. This only turned out to be an intense battle between two very strong trainers. As they were making their way back to the station, however, they started to notice unusually firm gusts of wind starting to pick up behind them. It wasn’t long before they found themselves caught in the middle of a record breaking sandstorm. She would have called Herdier back into its pokeball, but a thick dust cloud swept over them before she could. Where she was able to cover her nose with one of her gloves, Herdier was not, and suffered through multiple minutes of breathing in sand and debris, before Jenny could see clearly again. As soon as he was in his ball, Jenny made a quick break for the pokemon center…
Glancing at the clock, her posture grew slump. She hoped Herdier was okay. She finally plopped down on a nearby chair and put her face in her hands. I cannot believe I let this happen she thought as a tear slid down her cheek.
Click! The door to the operating room opened, and Jenny quickly looked up. There stood Nurse Joy, and by her side was Herdier, happy and healthy.
“Herdier is doing much better now,” Nurse Joy beamed as they both walked towards Officer Jenny.
Wiping the dismay from her eyes, and sighing in relief, Jenny bolted towards Herrdier, and wrapped him in a tight embrace. “Oh Herdier, I’m glad you’re okay! I’m so sorry I let that happen to you,” she broke away and fished through her bag, until she found his pokeball “Here, take a rest. You deserve it.” she said, as Herdier was transported back into his pokeball.
She finally looked over at Joy “Thank you so much, I was worried sick!” Officer Jenny paused briefly, contemplation etched in her expression. She continued “You know, I really think you’re the best Nurse Joy around” she breathed.
“Well, thank you,” Nurse Joy said blushing slightly “I think you are the best Officer Jenny around.”
Silence followed close behind their words, as they stared deep into each other’s eyes. It was obvious that similar feelings of fondness for each other were growing inside them.
Nurse Joy broke the silence “You know, I really don’t like seeing you cry,” her tone was soft, as she stepped closer to Jenny “Your smile is much better.”
“You really think that?” Jenny asked. “No one has ever really said that to me before.” she uttered in shock.
“Of course I do.” and with that, Nurse Joy pulled Jenny closer by the waist, and pressed their lips together.
The kiss was brief yet passionate as their inner lusts for each other awakened. It had never occurred to them how much they wanted the other. After breaking away from each other, they were still in each other’s embrace, suspended in a comfortable silence.
It was Jenny this time to break it “That was unexpected, but it really cheered me up,” she her lips curled into a smile.
Nurse Joy grinned playfully, tucking her loose bangs behind her ears “Well then, mission accomplished.”

Birthday Surprise (Twinleafshipping)
****PART 4 (RATING: CUTE/FLUFF)****
MEANWHILE
“Hey, Dawn. Long time no see. Even though we can’t see each other because we’re talking on the phone and all haha… ugh no that sounds even dumber than the last line!” Barry spoke to himself whilst urgently pacing back and forth in front of his phone. It was only yesterday that he had gone fishing with his good friend Lucas, and ever since then, their conversation has saturated his mind.
“You’re gonna be 18 soon for crying out loud. You’re gonna have to man up sometime...” Lucas’s words echoed in Barry’s mind, making him cringe.
Ugh, I hate it when he’s right. I do need to tell Dawn how I feel at some point, but I don’t even know how to start out the conversation, let alone what I would even say when it comes to how I feel. Her smile ties my tongue, her humor pounds my heart, and her laugh sends chills down my spine… She makes me nervous, and yet I still want her to be all mine.
Barry shook his head clear, as he reached for the phone. “Ok, I’m thinking way too much. I just got to do it.”
With each dialed number, Barry’s fingers struggled more and more. He couldn’t believe his actions. Where in the world did this nerve come from? It’s like some kind of secret urge woke up inside of him, and he needed to satisfy it- he needed to tell Dawn the truth of his feelings.
His thoughts raced as the first ring fell silent. Oh boy, I’m actually doing this…
‘RINNNNGGG,; The second ring came and went, still no one. Maybe no one is home right now… Barry silently hoped. Just as he was about to hang up, he heard a familiar voice on the other side of the line.
“Johanna speaking, who might I be talking to?” Dawn’s mom answered.
In response, Barry seemed to freeze in fear. He totally forgot about the option of her mom answering the phone. “Uh hi, this is Barry,” he managed to croak out. “Uh, I would like to talk with Dawn. Is she home by any chance?”
For only a moment, there was a slight pause on the other end, before he heard a slight giggle, and an answer “Yeah, she’s home. Let me get her for you…”
********
Dawn grinned “You have yourself a deal!”
Just as Dawn and Ash had finished shaking hands, the front door of the house opened revealing Johanna. “Oh hi Ash and Pikachu! It’s nice to see you again. Your mom told me you might be coming by Sinnoh.” Johanna greeted.
Ash and Pikchu smiled in return “Yeah,” Ash took off his hat, running his fingers through his hair. “Pikachu and I wanted to do some special training before we head off to the next region, and we thought Sinnoh would be a great fit.”
“That’s great! Actually, I was planning on making some lemonade pretty soon. You and Pikachu should come inside for a glass, before you go and train.” Johanna offered.
“That sounds awesome, doesn’t it buddy?” Ash turned his head to ask Pikachu, who was already squealing with excitement.
“Cool! C’mon inside then. You know the drill, take your shoes off at the door.” Johanna explained, holding the door open for everyone to come inside. Being as discreet as possible, she pulled her daughter aside “Oh, and Dawn.” she whispered “There's a certain blonde waiting to talk to you on the phone. If I were you, I would act normal.” she encouraged patting Dawn on the shoulder.
Dawn’s heart skipped a beat. “What? You actually told him I was home? Sometimes I hate it when you tell the truth.” she whined. “Ugh, but I get it.”
Dawn sped over to the phone. She was unsure of what had gotten into her, but she needed to be on the other end of the line. A terrified curiosity had overtaken, her strides getting larger with each step. She tried not to think about how the next 5-10 minutes of her life would play out. Ugh, what if I slip, and end up saying something wrong? What if he tells me how he feels, what will I say then? she could feel the deep blush on her cheeks, as she finally reached the phone, slightly putting it up to her ear.
Dawn quietly breathed out one last time in an attempt to get rid of any last minute butterfrees that might have built up in her stomach. As much as she wanted to hear what Barry had to say, she equally wanted to be 6 feet underground, away from everyone. Ok, if Barry has the guts to call me, then I should have the guts to see what he has to say. With that thought, she found the courage to speak “Hey, Barry. What’s up” Dawn asked politely.
“Oh, not much,” Barry started “I just wanted to see if you could hang out sometime in the next couple of days. I thought it’s been a while since we spent time together, and I wanted to do it before my birthday party this weekend.” Barry explained.
Dawn held her breath in anticipation, contemplating on how to respond. Yes, of course she wanted to hang out with Barry, but she already had plans to give him his present during that time. Just as she found herself at a loss for words, her brain hatched a brilliant plan. “Yeah, actually. I would love to hang out with you. It’s Sunday now right? How about we hang out Wednesday? Come by my place at around noon? ” Dawn suggested.
A slightly audible sigh of relief could be heard on Barry’s end, which only made Dawn’s smile widen. “That sounds good,” Barry said. “See you then!”
“Sounds like a plan,” Dawn said as she hung up the phone.
Oh my God, what just happened? Dawn tried to suppress her snowballing thoughts as she sauntered to the kitchen table. She took a seat next to Ash, who was busy working on his third glass of lemonade.
“So, was that who I think it was?” Ash asked, wiping his mouth dry. Dawn’s quiet demeanor and lack of response gave her away instantly. Ash continued. “Ok, so how did it go then?”
Dawn face palmed to hide her ever growing blush “I don’t know. We set plans to hang out Wednesday,” Dawn explained whilst pouring herself a glass of lemonade. “ But I didn’t tell him that I arranged a scavenger hunt for him. Now, I’m going to be scrambling for time as Wednesday reaches closer. Everything needs to be in order for this to work out. This is all so stressful!” Dawn put her head down on the table. “Oh, and Ash.” she looked up to look him in the eyes “I also found out… I really like the idea of me and Barry being more than friends… I really don’t know what to do.”
Ash saw the confusion in Dawn’s eyes. He gave a knowing look to Pikachu who only nodded in return. “Dawn, it looks like you need some really good friends right about now. So, me and Pikachu are willing to forgo training in order to help you figure out every end of this. We want things to work out for you.”
A glimmer of hope flashed in Dawn’s eyes, and strength found its way back into her body, as she stood up from her seat. “Wow, Ash. You would really do that? Thank you. I mean, I have some ideas of what I want to do, but there are still so many things up in the air.”
“Yeah, of course! And don’t worry,” Ash smirked smugly “I also have some ideas of what you could do,”

Birthday Surprise (Twinleafshipping)
****PART 3 (RATING: CUTE/FLUFF)****
“A scavenger hunt!” Joanna’s eyes brightened with wonder, “I think Barry would love that for his birthday!”
Popping up from the kitchen table, Dawn gleamed with pride at her genius. “I think so too! But I need people to help distribute the clues, that’s where you come in. I was hoping you could give him the first one.”
Dawn’s mom smiled as she cleared the table, “Sure I can do that!”
“Great,” Dawn smiled, walking her dirty plate to the dishwasher “All I need now is to find…” Before Dawn could even finish her sentence, a firm rapping was heard at the door. Almost immediately, Dawn’s heart shrunk into itself. “Oh no! What if that’s Barry! What should I do?”
Rinsing the breakfast pan, Dawn’s mom shrugged and shook her head “Honey, I would get the door, but you’re not a kid anymore, and it’s not right for you to ignore your problems. It’s important for you to learn how to handle awkward situations, even if you’re the only one who knows it.”
Dawn groaned in response; she hated when her mother was right. Walking to the door was quite the feat for Dawn. As her steps grew, so did the thoughts swirling around in her mind. They aimlessly jumped around from one concept to the next. One step: her blood surged through her veins, leaving a hot sting to the surface of her skin. Ok, I’m definitely a nervous wreck right now, but I have to answer this door. Two steps: her eyes made contact with the door. It’s just a rectangular piece of wood used as an entrance, it will not mock me! Three, four, five: coming closer, she saw the sun had helped form the silhouette of a young man against the window shade. Dawn wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, and pushed forward. That has to be him, I mean who else could it possibly be? Six, seven…. The door now was the only thing separating her from the visitor. Her hand fumbled for the door knob, trying to find any ounce of courage it could to turn it. Burning her last vestiges of will power, Dawn’s eyes closed as she finally opened the door.
“Hey Daw-Oh God, are you ok? You look like you’ve seen a Haunter” the boy’s greeting quickly turned into concern.
Dawn’s ears rang as she registered the familiar voice. Yes, she’s heard it before, but it did not belong to Barry. Dawn opened her eyes only to see a very disturbed Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu, about ready to call the ambulance. Standing strong, Dawn mustered just enough energy to enclose the two in a warm embrace. “Ash,” Dawn breathed “I can’t believe you’re here. I thought you were…” Dawn released her grip and backed away sheepishly.
“You thought I was…?” Ash started back, very confused at the situation.
“It’s nothing important, I just thought you were gonna be somebody else,” Dawn’s voice lowered a little disappointment.
“Really?” Ash titled his head curiously “You sounded disappointed just now, yet it seems this person had you sweating buckets just getting to the door… I don’t even know how that’s possible unless…” Ash trailed off, only to switch his bewilderment for a playful smirk. “Unless, somebody has a little crush,” he sang relentlessly.
“Huh? Th-that’s just silly,” Dawn exhaled “What makes you think that?” she tried to laugh the comment off.
Ash shook his head in smug laughter “Dawn, c’mon. You’re a mess right now. What else could it be?”
If there was one thing that Dawn disliked, it was interrogations. So, to have two in one day was to say the least, not her cup of tea, especially when she was still undecided in her stance on the matter. Standing up straight, now with regained composure, she held her hands in surrender.  “Ok… but I wouldn’t call it a crush… it actually feels more like a smother that only leaves me in confusion.” Dawn flushed . “I still don’t really know how I feel.” Dawn blushed whilst gazing down at her sneakers.
Ash nodded in sympathy, and offered a hand on her shoulder. “Hey, it’s alright. You don’t have to know how you feel, so don’t sweat it too much. I know you’ll figure it out.” he smiled.
Dawn glanced up to meet Ash’s encouraging gaze, her lips curling up in mollified amusement. “Thanks, Ash. You really know how to talk a girl up and down.” she poked.
Ash faintly giggled before nudging further “.... Soooo, who is it? Anyone I know?”Ash inquired.
Dawn shook her head “Classic Ash, you just can’t keep your nose out of things can you? Ok, fine. You can’t say a word though, I'm not even supposed to know. I’m only telling you because I know you’ve kept juicier secrets of mine in the past.” Dawn pointed out.
Making sure nobody was around to hear her, she crouched closer to Ash “So, I may have found out that Barry likes me… as more than a friend…” Dawn paused to let her words soak in “Can you believe it? Barry!?! Like, who would've thought, am I right?”
Ash stared into Dawn’s eyes with slight amusement “Ummmmm… yeah. You see, I kind of already knew that,” Ash confessed “Barry told me a couple of years ago, actually.” Ash nervously laughed.
“Wh-what?” Dawn stuttered out “Does everyone know this except for me? Could I have really been that blind to any advances he could have made?”
Ash scratched the back of his neck “I don’t know about any of that. All I know is that he’s liked you for a while, and he’s always wanted to tell you, but was too scared.”
Dawn nodded “Yeah, I figured that much out on my own,”
“Say,” Ash interjected “How did you even find out?”
“Ugh,” Dawn sighed “It’s complicated. The important part is that I know, and what we are next… but I’m still not quite sure what I want. All I know is that I’m gonna do something very special for his birthday coming up…” Dawn paused before continuing “Actually, if you aren’t doing anything, I could really use your help that only an awesome friend like you can accomplish,” Dawn sang.
Ash rolled his eyes “Dawn, stop with the flattery, you know we’ll help,” Ash nodded to Pikachu who mimicked his trainer's actions. “What do you need us to do?”
“Well, I’m gonna send Barry on a scavenger hunt all throughout Sinnoh, and I need people to hand him clues. Can you do that?” Dawn asked.
Ash and Pikachu huddled into each other and whispered for a moment before facing Dawn again “Ok, we’ll do it, but on two conditions” Ash said.
Dawn chuckled and nodded her head “Sure, what are they?”
“First, we want to pick the location,” Ash explained.
“Seems reasonable,” Dawn shrugged. “And second?”
“Right,” Ash high fived Pikachu and they both flexed their arm muscles “Second, he’s gonna have to battle us for his next clue!”
Dawn grinned “You have yourself a deal!”

Birthday Surprise (Twinleafshipping)
****PART 2 (RATING:CUTE/FLUFF)****
The next morning, sunshine peeked through Dawn’s window, warmly greeting her to the new day. Dawn rubbed her eyes, and giggled as memories from the evening before wisped by her. Stretching her body and sliding off her bed, she grabbed a pokeball from her bedside table, and effortlessly called out the pokemon inside.
“Piplup-lup” her long time friend smiled at her, gluing himself to her legs.
“Hi Piplup! Guess what? I finally found the perfect gift to give Barry!” she erupted in excitement “Do you wanna help me out?”
“Pip,” the penguin churned with gusto.
Dawn laughed as she hoisted Piplup, and spun them in a smooth circle before setting him down on her bed. Gliding over to her closet, her eyes skimmed over her clothes. “What to wear, what to wear,” Dawn’s hands traveled to her hips.
If there was one thing that she took pride in, it was looking her absolute best. Dawn turned around to Piplup as she held two outfits up to her body.
“What do you think, Piplup, should I go with green and white, or blue and pink? she asked.
Piplup grinned as he held up his left fin, jumping up and down in confirmation of his choice.
Dawn nodded at his input “Yeah, you’re right, pink and blue is definitely the way to go.”
As Dawn got dressed, her mind drifted hopelessly to Barry. I can’t believe he likes me, and not just as a friend. How can one boy be responsible for taking all of my attention? I’ve never felt so weightless before… but still... This is Barry I’m thinking about. Dawn’s perception spiraled as sound judgement and confused passion wrestled for control.
Trying to maintain composure, Dawn straightened her shirt "Uh, ok Piplup, I’m ready to get out of here. Let’s go!"
Dawn and Piplup raced downstairs all the way to the kitchen, their earnestness for the day ahead growing stronger. A familiar sweet aroma lingered throughout the hallway, inviting their legs to propel faster.
Turning the corner, they caught a glimpse of Dawn's mom at the table, quietly sipping her morning coffee.
Her mother grinned “Hi sweetie, I made french toast this morning! I know it’s a favorite of yours.”
“Thanks, mom!” Dawn breathed, walking over to the cupboard.
Johanna gaped, as her eyes observed her daughter. Her overly-smooth gate and extra glossy gaze were supplemented with a rosy complexion. Trying to hide a chuckle, her mother continued watching. Quietly humming an improvised melody, Dawn poured herself a glass of water, and rummaged through the cupboard for a plate. Finally sitting down, she grabbed herself three slices of the sweet bread and positioned them next to a small bowl of syrup on her plate. Lifting her eyes to the window, Dawn stared outside, and silently sighed in defeat. Everytime, I try to think about something else, my mind always leads back to him… her attention redirected when she heard her mother finally express her amusement.
“Hah, Ok, I’m sorry Dawn, but I must ask you. Who is it?” her mother laid her elbows on the table, and leaned forward.
Dawn eyes doubled in size “Wha, what do you mean,” she stuttered, trying to dismiss the question.
“Oh don’t give me that Dawn. I know that look in your eyes. It’s the same one I had when I was your age, and in my experience, it came from a boy…” Johanna’s voice lifted higher with each word.
“Is it really that obvious?” Dawn stared at her lap in slight humiliation.
“Honey, I’ve never seen you grin like that before,” her mother confirmed “I mean, you have a right to privacy... but at least tell me, do I know him?”
“Well,” Dawn contemplated her position. “If I say, you can’t tell anyone. This information wasn’t even intended for my ears… erm at least just yet,” Dawn dipped a piece of french toast into syrup before tucking into it. “I found out by accident,”
“You have my word,” Johanna held her hand over her heart
"Well, you definitely know him…" Dawn stuffed her mouth with more toast "but up until yesterday, I didn’t know him well enough to think of his birthday present," Dawn simpered.
Silence enveloped the room at her confession. Without warning, Dawn’s mother squealed in elation “Ahhh, Barry? I honestly didn’t see that one coming,” she shook her head. She addressed Dawn with concern “I know so many emotions can surface out of the blue, and if you need to talk about it with someone, I’m always here honey.”
Temperature surged over Dawn’s body, her facial hue mirroring that of a vibrant ruby. Her thoughts folded back and forth on each other, altering with every second. It was strange to think of her best friend in that way, and yet there was no denying the turbulence revving down her spine. She wanted to respond, but her tongue refused to move.
“Hmm,” her mom nodded knowingly “No need to say anything. You’ll know what to do with your relationship when the time is right. I know life can be bizarre at times, but that’s what makes it truly breathtaking. It’s important to take your time with your feelings…”
“Thanks, mom. I just…” Dawn thought about what to say next “I never thought that excitement and hesitation could exist in the same thought process, last night I felt alright about it, but...”
“I know all too well,” her mother related, before attempting a slight subject change “Anyway, what about his gift?”
Dawn regained some poise “Yeah, there is something I really wanna do for him, but I have no idea how I’m gonna be able to pull it off within a couple of days. I might need your assistance.” she drank some water, to clear her throat “Don’t worry, your job is minimal.”
Her mom laughed “Sure, whatever I can do within reason.”
Dawn’s hands planted themselves on the table in command “Awesome! Welcome to operation ‘clue the crew’. Aha, I just came up with that name, and it’s actually pretty brilliant. It’ll make more sense when I explain it to you,” Dawn rambled. “But anyway I’m getting side tracked. Here’s what I was thinking...”

****PART ONE**** (RATING:CUTE/FLUFF)
Dawn scratched her head and stared blankly at the clean piece of paper in front of her, sighing at the reality of her situation. Her mind, fried from thinking so much, was ready to shut down. Giving into her fatigue, she closed her eyes, and rested her head in her arms, that already found their way to the table in front of her. Just as she was about to doze off into a peaceful slumber, the thump of the kitchen door opening  jostled her awake. She glanced over wearily to her mother, who had just returned from the grocery store. Her mother stared back at her with a knowing expression. After all, she didn’t need a rosetta stone to interpret her own daughter.
“Honey, I know that face all too well. What’s up?” Dawn’s mother finally spoke up, breaking the silence between them.
Dawn shrugged her shoulders in mere defeat “Ah, I don’t know,” she groaned rubbing her eyes in a careless fashion “It’s just that Barry’s birthday is in a week, and I wanted to get him something good this year.” she sighed her figure slumping further into her chair “So, I decided to sit down and brainstorm, but nothing is really jumping at me, ya know? Nothing is really screaming ‘Happy 18th birthday!’.”
Nodding at her daughter’s words, Dawn’s mom proceeded to put away the groceries that she had brought in with her “Well, you could always ask him what he wants,” her mom stated simply.
Almost instantly, Dawn’s eyes widened in disbelief “Ask him? I can’t do that. Sure maybe if our friendship was still fairly new, but I’ve known this guy my whole life. If I ask him what he wants, what will that say about me as his friend?” Dawn replied.
“Well, honey, I don’t know what to tell you then,” her mom looked at her with an apologetic expression “Good luck in your endeavors though.” She stated.
“Thanks, I’m gonna need it,” she murmured, getting up from her seat “I think, I’m just gonna go for a walk. Maybe I’ll get some inspiration outside. I’ll see ya later, mom,”
“Ok, dear. Just try to be back before dinner” her mom called out just in time for Dawn to hear before she left the house.
Closing the door, Dawn was immediately hit with an intoxicating scent; it was the wildflowers that bloomed in the grass every spring. She smiled as she breathed in the pleasant aroma, and exhaled all the tension that she had built up in the kitchen. Nature always had a way of calming her down, especially during this time of the year. She started down the familiar road that connected Twinleaf to a nearby forest trail. This is where she usually went when she needed to implement some good old fashioned problem solving. The woods provided the perfect escape from her mind, and that’s exactly what she needed. Within minutes of listening to the Starly and Bidoof of the forest, Dawn’s motivation was fully recharged. I wonder if Barry likes being in nature as much as I do. Maybe I could take him on a camping trip? Or maybe I could build us a secret hideout out here… Dawn’s thoughts were finally starting to take some shape, something that she was grateful for, to say the least. Just as she was about to turn around to head back, she saw two familiar looking objects a couple hundred yards ahead of her. She walked a little closer to ensure that her eyes were not deceiving her. She gasped, as she finally got close enough to clearly see the subject of her curiosity. Her heart beat raised as she realized she was looking at the bikes of none other than Barry and Lucas.
Immediately, Dawn was hesitant to go any further. What are Barry and Lucas doing all the way out here. Huh, maybe they’re having one of their famous ‘bro times’. But, where did they go? Dawn thought to herself looking around for her two friends. Just then, she heard two familiar voices coming from the woods behind her, their pitches getting louder with each word. Barry and Lucas were coming back to their bikes. Panicking a little, Dawn ran behind a bush and crouched down. The last thing she wanted was for them to think that she followed them.
“You’re right Lucas, that was a great fishing spot. I can’t wait to show off my new Magikarp to everyone.” Barry smiled pridefully.
“Yeah, man who knows, maybe it’ll even impress Dawn,” Lucas laughed unchaining his bike from a nearby tree.
“Dude, not funny. Don’t make me fine you for that comment,” Barry snapped back quickly.
Lucas shook his head “I don’t know, it’s kind of funny to me how you’ve liked her for so long, and yet you still haven’t told her how you feel. You’re gonna be 18 soon for crying out loud. You’re gonna have to Machamp up like they say,” Lucas scolded lightly.
Barry sighed knowing full well that his friend spoke the truth. “Ok, first off, no one says Machamp up, it’s literally only you. Second, I know you’re right, but I’m just not sure how she’ll react to it. She could laugh in my face, I can’t have that!”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right, take your time I guess,” Lucas grinned as the two hopped on their bikes and pedaled back towards Twinleaf Town.
Dawn stood up from her hiding spot once she was sure that the boys were long gone. “Well, I don’t think I was supposed to hear that,” she stated bluntly in minor shock, her cheeks burning a bright shade of pink. Barry was right, she didn’t know how to respond to this new information. Dawn remained quiet, standing completely still for what seemed like an eternity. For the life of her she couldn’t find any words to describe what she was feeling.
Barry likes… me? Dawn constantly rolled the thought over in her mind, as she made her way back to her house. That boy can be so elusive with his feelings I would have never known. Who knows, maybe he’s trying his best, and I’m just being extremely dense. Searching the idea of her and Barry as a couple was a completely new concept that brought a host of undiscovered feelings along with it. Feelings of excitement,  curiosity, and weightlessness.
Finally, upon returning to her house, she mindlessly sat down in her front yard, wanting to soak up the last vestiges of the sun before night fell. She laid down in the grass, and gazed up at the dusk’s magnificent display of faded orange, intense fuchsia, and deep violet. Just like the day, who knew that someone could have so many colors to them? Moreover, I would've never guessed that person to be Mr.Busy-body… Dawn giggled at the ever so realistic image of Barry running around always looking for his next purpose. That boy truly is amazing, he never stops… and now I can’t stop thinking about him… Dawn hardly realized she had lost all track of time, in thought of the blonde haired boy, something she never imagined was possible. Nevertheless, she enjoyed being whisked away from reality in thought of her and Barry together. If only I could make Barry to forget about his busy schedule...  a smirk slowly edged its way onto Dawn’s lips. That’s it, I know what to get Barry for his birthday!

Coming up
So, I got a request for a twinleaf shipping fanfic, which I plan on doing. Luckily, I just made my way to the Sinnoh region in the anime so right now, I am trying to get a feel for the characters before I write about them, so it might be a while.

Pokecafe (Rocketshipping)
****PART TWO**** (RATING: CUTE/FLUFF)
“C’mon everyone, move faster!” Bonnie demanded leading the way to the kitchen. She was so excited to get a tour of Cafe Le Ha, she could hardly contain herself.
“Yeah, we’re coming,” Clemont huffed, annoyed at his sister’s impatience, trying to keep up with her. Ash and Serena were trailing behind as well, they’ve never seen Bonnie walk so fast in their life.
“Finally,” Bonnie breathed, making it to the kitchen door. Placing her hand on it, she started to push it open.
“Bonnie, you have no idea if they’re even ready for us to come back yet!” Clemont lightly scolded as he caught up with her.
“But they’re expecting us, so we should be fine,” Bonnie reasoned.
Opening the door to the kitchen, Bonnie’s eyes and mouth immediately widened. She couldn’t believe that she got to have a tour of this place. She instantly took notice of a giant island that was used for chopping and preparing food smack dab in the center of the room. To her left, Bonnie saw a beautiful clear double door fridge that boasted the most delicious looking ingredients. Next to the fridge were three giant ovens, each baking it’s own unique treat.
“Wow, this place is so cool,” Bonnie gasped as the rest of her friends caught up with her.
Jessie was over by the island cutting some Pecha berries trying her best to act normal. Removing herself from her present task, she quickly looked up and saw the kids. “Why hello, I hope you all enjoyed your meal. Now you get to see where it all comes together,” Jessie held her hands out to gesture the kitchen.
“Well we’re excited to be here,” Serena said.
“Yes, well why don’t we start off with meeting the head chef?” Jessie asked as she walked over to a figure huddled over by the stove, stirring what seemed to be a tomato bisque.
The chef turned around only to reveal that it was in fact a Wobbuffet standing on a ladder.
“Wobbuffet!” Wobbuffett waved.
The quartet gasped in disbelief. How could a pokemon be such a good cook?
“Wow, I’m interested to know how you guys even understand him when he gives out orders,” Clemont said in the most curious manor.
Jessie smiled Perfect she thought everything is going according to plan
“Well, I’m gonna actually let you guys in on a little secret,” she started “You see my uncle is an inventor. He’s always coming out with a new gadget every couple of weeks, and sometimes he asks me to test them out.”
All of a sudden, James made his way out of a back room connected to the kitchen, wheeling out a giant box like contraption.
“You see, Wobbuffet has certain regular commands that we don’t need a translator, but when there’s something special that he wants us to do, he enters the box, and voila! It translates what he says for us!” Jessie exclaimed. “Wobbuffet, would you be so kind as to show our guests?”
Without wasting any time, Wobbuffet stepped into the box, and started to speak.
“Welcome to Cafe Le Ha’s kitchen. We are so honored to have you here!” a semi electronic sounding voice sounded from some speakers that were attached to the contraption. Little did the kids know that this was no invention at all, but instead a dazzled up box with a secret compartment for Meowth to hide in, so he could translate everything Wobuffet was saying.
“Wow, science is so amazing!” Ash cheered. “I wish we had something like that to talk to our pokemon with!”
“I was just about to say that too,” Clemont agreed. “This truly is a scientific breakthrough! I would love to meet your uncle someday, as I myself am a fellow inventor.” Clemont boasted as he pushed his glasses firmer on his nose.
“Yes of course,” Jessie nodded “I can go get his contact information now actually!” and with that she walked out of the kitchen. She could not believe that this plan was working out so perfectly. Those twerps will believe anything  she thought as she marveled at her genius for coming up with and thinking out everything. Just one more part needs to work out, and Pikachu will be ours!
When Jessie left the kitchen, it was time for James to enact the final part of their plan.
“Well, we’ve been testing this contraption out for a couple of days,” he exclaimed “Why don’t you try it out on your pokemon?” he offered pointing to Ash’s Pikachu “What about starting with that Pikachu of yours? He looks like he has a lot to tell you.”
Ash looked at his Pikachu “What do you say bud, do you want to try it out?”
Pikachu’s face spraked up. “Pika pi” the yellow mouse squealed as he jumped off of Ash’s shoulder and into the translator. As soon as the door closed, a locking sound was instantly heard, which sent the kids into confusion.
“Um, why did the door just lock?” Serena asked, starting to get a little scared for Pikachu.
“Oh, that’s because I pressed this button,” James said bluntly as he showed the kids a remote that he had been holding in his pocket.
“Wait, something’s going on here!” Ash started to shout a little “I want Pikachu out of that box now!”
With those words, Jessie came running back into the kitchen just in time for the getaway “I’m afraid we can’t do that twerp! Because we want your Pikachu” she couldn’t contain her excitement any longer “So you can prepare for trouble!” Jessie said.
James smiled, and pressed a second button on the remote that was responsible for controlling the tiles in the floor. Instantly, it separated in two only to reveal the famous Team Rocket hot air balloon, which scooped up Team Rocket and the translator, and started to float away.
“Hm, and make it double,” James chimed in. By now Jessie and James had ridden themselves of their disguises, and Ash and his friends were no longer oblivious to the situation at hand.
“Team Rocket!” Serena shouted
“We should have known it was you guys! Give Pikachu back!” Ash broke out into a full sprint to catch up with them.
“No can do, twerp! We don’t willingly give things back,” Jessie shook her head.
“Yeah,” Meowth added coming out of the translator, “Besides, when we give this Pikachu to the boss,” James stepped in to finish the sentence “We’re gonna finally get that big fat bonus that we rightfully deserve,”
“We’re gonna be rich!” The trio sang in unison.
Ash finally caught up with the balloon, and was quick to call out Froakie and Fletchinder.
“Ok guys listen up. Fletchinder, I need you to take Froakie and sneak up to that balloon. Froakie, when you get up there, use your best cut attack to pop it. When you guys come down, grab the translator from the balloon. Pikachu is in there” Ash commanded.
Within seconds his pokemon were up in the sky, putting the plan into action. Ash untensed at their perfect execution, putting a giant gash in Team Rocket’s air balloon, and retrieving Pikachu, with little hassle.
However, where one group of people were relieved, another grew more frustrated.
“Ugh, why don’t we ever take into account that twerp’s other pokemon!” Jessie sighed.
James shook his head “It’s ok, we’ll get em next time, but until then,”
“We’re blasting off again!” Team Rocket shouted as they went flying away.
************
“Butt-er-free!” Jessie woke up to the pokemon munching on a sitrus berry. She looked around to find herself in the middle of a meadow filled with millions of wild flowers.
She rubbed her eyes, unsure of what just happened, then it all came flooding back. Her brilliant plan, the poke cafe, the twerps ruining the day again. She was certain that this time, everything would work out. She curled her knees into her chest and sat in a quasi-fetal position; she was never one to cry, but presently holding tears was a challenging feat. A rustle of the grass behind her prompted Jessie to turn around, where she saw her blue haired partner.
“Hey, there you are!” James smiled running to her “Meowth and I were looking for you…” James sat down next to Jessie, taking notice of her slumped frame “Do you want to tell me what’s wrong glum chum?” he bantered, nudging Jessie with this shoulder.
“James, you know I can’t take you seriously when you say that,” Jessie giggled a little.
“Why do you think I said it?” James winked “But seriously what’s up?”
Jessie picked a flower from her side and started to tear off the petals one by one “Well, it’s just that I really thought that this was going to be the time that we caught Pikachu. I guess I just wanted us to have a victory... especially because you and Meowth were so dejected when we first started this plan. I don’t like seeing you like that…” Jessie blushed a little.
“Wow, I didn’t know you felt that way,” James confessed  “To be honest, I really don’t like seeing you upset either. Actually, my favorite Jessie is the one that gave us that little pep talk.” James stopped to watch Jessie closely, her cheeks donning a brilliant shade of scarlett. “In fact,” James continued “I would even go as far to say that your confidence and persistence is downright hot,” James scratched his head, and looked at the sun that was barely sitting on the horizon.
Jessie’s eyes widened, her body twisting to face James. “You really think that?” she smiled.
“Yeah,as of late, it’s all I can think about” James replied “What guy wouldn’t find your confidence hot?”
Jessie chuckled a little, and leaned on James’s shoulder “Well, if you find it so hot, maybe I’ll have to give you guys pep talks more often.” she winked.
“I guess you will,” James said, as they both pulled closer into each other, and watched the vibrant sunset fade into night.

Pokecafe (Rocketshipping)
****PART ONE***(RATING:CUTE/FLUFF)
“Another day, another chance to catch that twerp’s Pikachu!” Jessie proclaimed loudly. She, James, and Meowth have recently devised their most premeditated plan to capture that little yellow pest, and were now putting it into action.
“Yeah, or another chance to get zapped, and go blasting off again,” Meowth’s  voice faltered. The memory of their last blast off resurfaced in his mind, and only made his figure slump further.
James too was feeling a drop in his morale “C’mon Jessie, do you really think a poke cafe will really work? None of us can even cook,” James sighed already apt to give up.
At first, Jessie thought her ears were deceiving her, but the despondent demeanors of her partners only further verified their words.
“You two are unbelievable!Leave it to you two to give up on something before we’ve even tried it! What kind of Team Rocket members are you?” Jessie scolded. “First off, if you forgot, Wobbuffet is creepily good at cooking, so that’s covered,” Jessie exclaimed “Second, this plan is full proof, we’ve thought of everything. That twerp won’t be able to stop us this time, and Pikachu will finally be ours, you just watch,” Jessie assured.
To be honest, however, Jessie wasn’t quite sure of this plan herself, but she refused to let them know that. She wanted to be strong in the face of their little ‘slump’ they’ve been having. Yes, it might have been stretching the truth a little bit, but she did it for the security of her teammates. A slight grin crept its way onto Meowth’s and Jame’s faces. Although they were not fully convinced about this scheme, they were at least on board to try it.
Within hours, the three finished the last touches on their makeshift pokemon cafe, finally ready for their big ‘grand opening’.
“Ok, guys remember the plan, and stick to it. We can’t fail,” Jessie affirmed.
“Mmhmm,” Meowth and James nodded to each other, their expressions teeming with unmatched zeal.
Within minutes of opening, tens of people were lined up out the door. There was something about the magical smell of Wobbuffet’s cooking that could conjure a crowd even in a barren desert.
“See,” Jessie gloated “We already have a line waiting out the door.” She pointed to their outside security screen.
“And look who we have walking up right now,” James chimed in, “it’s twerps one, two, three, and four. Sure enough, there on the security camera, Ash, Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont were waiting in line to check their cafe out. Jessie looked at her partners, and smiled widely; it was clear that her ego had grown five sizes in record time. “See,” she beamed “Everything is going smoothly, and according to plan.”
James stared at Jessie, and smiled as he thought about her; he loved the fact that she displayed confidence, even if it was overly inflated. Attitude, expression, poise-everything about Jessie was truly fascinating to say the least.
Realizing what he was thinking about, James quickly turned away from Jessie and Meowth in fear that they might see him sporting a blush that was as fiery as a Charizard’s ember attack. “Well, we better get out there, and initiate phase two of our plan.” James said, his voice burning with vigor.
Jessie and James filed out of the kitchen, and sauntered to the dining room. As much as he tried to keep his attention off of Jessie, his mind repeatedly circled back to her. Dang, her spirit is truly something to behold at times like this… it’s beautiful... ‘Stop thinking such thoughts,’ James strained trying to keep himself at a simmer, a herculean task in and of itself.
“What thoughts?” Jessie laughed “Is something on your mind James?” she asked with confused mien.  Jame’s face went from agitated to embarrassed in a matter of milliseconds.
Shoot, I must have been so stressed, that I said everything out loud. I need to think of something to say… “Uh, just… thoughts of failure wanting to creep back in, and as you say: that’s not the Team Rocket way.” James was slow to respond; if you asked Jessie she would have even confirmed that it was too slow. She knew deep down that he was keeping something from her, something she would confront later. Right now, she needed to focus.
Jessie walked up to a nearby table where Ash and his friends had sat themselves down to eat. As per usual, Pikachu was out and resting on Ash’s shoulder. “Why hello there young travelers, I hope you all are enjoying your stay here at Cafe Le Ha,” Jessie flashed her award winning smile.
“Oh yes,” the four children replied in unison.
Serena giggled as she took a bite of her cheese danish. “The food here is absolutely to die for,”
“Well,” it’s actually funny you said that. We have a special promotion for the first week of our grand opening. Everyday, we pick one table to come back to our kitchen, and observe how our master chef makes all his delectable dishes. You guys just so happen to be our lucky winners!” Jessie clapped her hands together in excitement.
Bonnie’s eyes dazzled with wonder at the sound of Jessie’s words. “Oh, guys we have to go, pretty please!!” she begged everyone at the table.
“I agree,” Clemont said, taking a sip of ice water to clear his throat. “It would be interesting to learn some of the tricks that this chef has up his sleeve.”
Ash looked over at Pikachu “What do you say buddy, wanna see how this yummy food is made?” he asked the yellow mouse.
“Pi pikachu,” Pikachu squealed in happiness.
“Perfect, just meet us in the back when you’re finished eating,” Jessie explained, as she walked away to the kitchen. That had to have been one of my best performances to date Jessie reflected to herself Those twerps won’t know what hit them. Still, I don’t know what I’ll do if this plan fails. I would hate to see James depressed like he was before. He’s my best friend, and I don’t think I would be able to bear seeing him like that again… Jessie’s mouth inadvertently tensed before she realized her actions. Why do I feel angry on his behalf? I’m acting a little over protective for a friend. Jessie’s head was racing; she needed to get out of her mind, and into the plan. She stormed into the kitchen with a look of determination on her face.
“Look alive team, phase two is complete,” Jessie informed whilst putting up her hair in a messy bun “by the looks of it, the twerps should be done any minute, and headed back here.”
James and Meowth gave a nod of approval, and set everything up for what would be the final phase of their brilliant plan.
