another bmblby rant

i honestly do not think bmblby could have worked from the beginning and one of the reason is because blake was still very freshly out of the white fang/ everything with adam. like i think in order for her to not only fully admit her feelings for yang but also work and be a healthy relationship she needed to heal from adam. like even without blakes guilt over yang losing her arm she had everything with adam weighing on her conscious. the way i see it v4 and v5 were blake healing from everything she felt she abandoned and learning she isnt a burden to her friends. then v6 is her get over her guilt of "being responsible" for yang losing her arm and getting that closure of adam. which is why i mean obviously the adam fight at the end of the volume is so important, because shes finally closing everything with him and letting all that guilt go. which is why in v7 and v8 blake and yang are a lot more flirty than they had been because blake finally didnt have that weighting on her. and now in v9 they really arent in the immediate face of doom (as of right now), blakes guilt is basically completely gone (evident by her makes jokes about yangs arm being stolen) and i think that them almost losing each other/ thinking they lost the other made them realize that cant keep waiting and are finally gonna make that leap because they really do care for each other. to me their feelings have been very apparent to not only them but everyone around them for a while they just had to work through their issues

with rwby coming back i keep seeing a bunch of people saying bumbleby is queerbait and like i get it but also how often do we get sapphic much less queer slow burn in media where both characters and their relationship are fully fleshed out. Like we have these two characters who throughout the 9 season have developed themselves/ bettered themselves. like we see blake grow and heal from everything with adam and we see yang heal from everything she delt with growing up with summers death and raising ruby. we see yang drop everything after hearing adam was back at the end of v3 and losing her arm bc of it. And because of that blake has immense guilt that she runs and theyre separated for v4 and v5, they literally reunite the last minutes of v5. Then v6 is blake and yang try to figure things out again while blake still feels guilty over her arm. Then v7 and v8 you can see them finally get back into their rhythm and see them becoming a lot more romantic with each other all the meanwhile they have freshly become huntresses and having to work for ironwood and trying to save mantle. and now in v9 we see their romantic interactions increase tenfold in the two episodes that are out bc what im assuming thinking they lost each other theyre tired of waiting. Also not to mention theyre are two other canon main couples jaune x pyrrha and ren x nora pyrrha and jaune only kissed bc pyrrha knew she was gonna die. Then ren and nora had known each other their entire lives and didnt kiss until v7 then just didnt talk about their relationship till v8 were they decided not to get togther quite yet. the show in general isnt big on romantic relationships and to me its very obvious that they are gonna happen they are just trying to build up to it

was watching moon girl and devil dinosaur and there was the smart computer that had a conscious or whatever and when it introduced itself it said something like "im los- 307, they/them pronouns preferred" and i was shocked bc like its a disney channel show and its means a lot

this is gonna make me sound like a complete loser and tbh i dont care but the fact that the owl house ending is insane to me bc i have watched every episode live, meaning when it first started i was 16 now im turning 20 this year and like ive grown with these characters. this show made me a queer latino way more confident in my sexuality than i had ever been before if made me feel seen and like i am so grateful that i found it when i did bc even though the weird 12 year old me who didn't understand crushes didnt get that rep the me who was 16, still weird, super confused on their sexuality and felt super alone due to the pandemic got to have it and got to grow with it and the characters
