with rwby coming back i keep seeing a bunch of people saying bumbleby is queerbait and like i get it but also how often do we get sapphic much less queer slow burn in media where both characters and their relationship are fully fleshed out. Like we have these two characters who throughout the 9 season have developed themselves/ bettered themselves. like we see blake grow and heal from everything with adam and we see yang heal from everything she delt with growing up with summers death and raising ruby. we see yang drop everything after hearing adam was back at the end of v3 and losing her arm bc of it. And because of that blake has immense guilt that she runs and theyre separated for v4 and v5, they literally reunite the last minutes of v5. Then v6 is blake and yang try to figure things out again while blake still feels guilty over her arm. Then v7 and v8 you can see them finally get back into their rhythm and see them becoming a lot more romantic with each other all the meanwhile they have freshly become huntresses and having to work for ironwood and trying to save mantle. and now in v9 we see their romantic interactions increase tenfold in the two episodes that are out bc what im assuming thinking they lost each other theyre tired of waiting. Also not to mention theyre are two other canon main couples jaune x pyrrha and ren x nora pyrrha and jaune only kissed bc pyrrha knew she was gonna die. Then ren and nora had known each other their entire lives and didnt kiss until v7 then just didnt talk about their relationship till v8 were they decided not to get togther quite yet. the show in general isnt big on romantic relationships and to me its very obvious that they are gonna happen they are just trying to build up to it

Weiss whenever taking new information into account can press further into motivations or feelings she doesn’t get at first, allowing her to understand others 

Oscar doesn’t have the same motivation to understand others as Weiss yet is able to succeed in that he isn’t in a rush and for the most part, doing things at his own pace allows him to make correct readings of people even without him thinking too hard about it

Pyrrha and Weiss have known each other to be half-siblings since they've first met. On their first day in Beacon, they meet this blond who they would soon realize was their brother, partly in thanks to being a dead ringer to their father based on an image their mother showed them, and that he was very much also their type. Concerned and confused feelings ensues.

It wasn't a surprise... that Pyrrha and Weiss had met before. Though Pyrrha didn't like it, the two of them were from the same circles after all. Her fame though earned, was still fame nonetheless. Though, as odd as it sounded, she had found herself endeared to the shorter girl. Perhaps, it came from an affinity that they shared with one another. A little secret that both had realized upon first coming into contact.

They were sisters, half sisters, but sisters nonetheless. Something they'd confirmed with their mothers' in private. It would appear, that they shared the same father, and though Weiss and Pyrrha had each of their maternal parent's hair colors. They both also had shockingly blue eyes. Ones as deep as the ocean themselves, and perhaps the feature they were most complimented on when strangers first met them.

It was a shock truly, because both knew that Weiss' Father wasn't either of their real fathers. Pyrrha /had/ no father, but she had an uncle that would sometimes visit with his wife. As she grew older, she would realize, that he was very much not her uncle.

Weiss had also met this man, and his wife, the two of them had given her more love than either of her parents had... and she had grown close to them.

Both of these girls were very much aware that they had children, but they had not met any of them, till today.

"He...hello, is this locker uh... oh crud... where is my paper."

He was a bit perplexing, though he didn't look as if he belonged here, he still carried himself like a warrior. It was a strange... odd look, because he was bumbling, but he held his head high, as well as the physique which was hidden beneath that hoodie of his. It was hard to tell, but he was trained, perhaps not as skilled as either of them, but whoever had trained him, and put the basics into him.

"Hello."

Both girls said at the same time, neither sure why either.

"Oh uhm... I'm sorry, I should introduce myself." Both hands extended, "Uh Jaune, Jaune Arc." He was awkward, but heart felt, "Lad-... no no please forget I was going to say anything, Ruby already laughed at it..." HIs face was coated with a brief bout of red.

"Do you not know who she is?" Weiss asked a little perplexed, "Do you not know who I am?"

Even more so with that last statement.

Pyrrha watched her carefully, confused where she may go with this.

"Oh uhm... no I'm sorry, was I supposed to? I uh, don't have a television out in the wilds, just a comic store that had late shipments... and uhm, if you're famous, my dad's been training me on basics recently so I haven't really gotten out much... sorry..." He winced a little, but was shocked when both girls took his retreating hands.

"No... no it's fine." Weiss gave a nod as she took his left hand, "Weiss... Weiss Schne... you have..."

"Very pretty eyes." Pyrrha finished as she shook his other, "Oh I'm sorry, I'm Pyrrha Nikos."

Both girls didn't say anything as he suddenly blushed, "Oh well, thank you! I uhm,... yeah, you have really pretty eyes too... wow... they're really blue..."

"So are yours." Both said, again in unison...

And... an understanding fell upon all three~

Crunchy Leaves

The unwieldy chill of morning had quickly set in about them even as the pair had let the swing of their apartment door shut behind them. It was early, far too early for a weekend nonetheless, and yes here Winter found herself being towed down the hall towards the elevator. The warmth of Cinder’s prosthetic’s glove the only real comfort she was deriving from the world in that moment.

There was a welcomed change of wardrobe for the pair this time of year, and of course it had come at the discretion of Cinder and Weiss. A fine light brown coat which bore down her frame and cut off around her upper thigh covered a white shirt and ample fine blue scarf.

A garment which Winter had to admit scratched at her ever so gently, reminding her constantly of its presence. Tugging at it once they entered the lift, the movement and slight ire jostled Cinder from her momentary fixation on dragging Winter about.

“Did I tie it too tightly?” A mixture of sass and concern belted from Cinder as she glanced over her partner. “I could redo it if you wish?” Her smirk only growing, knowing well the answer she were to receive.

Cinder similarly had a small change in wardrobe, a more robust black buttoned coat folded over her front, though her wash of ashen hair reduced the need for a scarf—small white crystalline jewelry instead took the place of an accessory, highlighting her otherwise darkened aesthetic.

A small scoff parted from Winter. “Its fine, though I believe you should stick to sewing and hemming more extraordinary things.” Glancing sideward at Cinder as she did so. “Perhaps leave the sewing of these to someone more than soft in nature, Ruby perhaps?”

“Like she knows how to sew.” Cinder sniped curtly as the doors before them pinged open and like a flash they were off again. The lobby around them barely featured more than a blink in their eyes before they were at the entrance.

It was this peculiar time of year which had seemingly charged Cinder as such this time of day—and dragged Winter along with her. Atlas’ streets before them, having been long since refurbished and remade to feel less cold and sterile, now sported all sorts of flora. Such plants, flowers, trees, and all forms of greenery were ruthlessly maintained throughout the year—but this time of year the work slowed.

Winter felt her breath slightly skip a beat, she had hated to admit falling for the greenery amongst the otherwise blue and white city, but this new glow was something else entirely. Rich golds, hearth like reds, and glowing yellows painted trees up and down their avenue, bathing the white city canvas around them in the hallmarks of autumn.

Cinder chuckled softly as she released Winter’s hand and walked forth into the street. “When I was back in Vale a long while ago, I remember their campus and city looking much like this.” Parading almost up to one of the trees and taking a small handful of the warm coloured flecks from its branch. “Ruby reminded me that with all the changes here in Atlas with these things, something as pretty as those may prop up again here.”

“I presume Weiss is getting much the same treatment then?” Winter asked halfheartedly, though the light flecks of awe still hummed in her throat.

“I suppose, though I think you’re still far more fair and pretty than these can be.” Cinder smirked, placing a snide kiss against Winter’s lips before quickly retreating, watching as red burned across Winter’s cheeks in the moment. “And you could use more warm colours on you as well.”

Cinder continued to smile as Winter quickly threw her hand to her cheek, trying to tell if some of Cinder’s lipstick or otherwise had been left on her. “Cinder Fall!” She gasped, then fighting in equal measure to regain her volume.

“Would a coffee make up for me waking you up so early for a cheesy line?” Offering her arm then in a crook for Winter, the Schnee glared at her partner before taking hold of it; allowing her head to idly fall onto Cinder’s shoulder.

“You suck you know that?” Winter hummed.

Curtly, Cinder sighed, “If I have to wear white you have to wear embarrassment, not my fault you wear it so well.”

Thank you for the ask! Here we go:

Favorite female character? Ilia Penny Pyrrha Ruby Nora(!!!!) Emerald Weiss and most of all… maria😔she’s so fucking funny i loved her energy v6. Further explanations, Ilia has an adorable design, great voice actor and decent enough representation. Nora’s timeskip design was unmatched and she’s very quotable, plus her personality reminds me of one of my close friends irl. Ruby’s struggles in V9 (until they fucked that up) really hit with me as I’d gone through something very similar, and Penny… Penny just makes me happy. What they did with her makes me angry, but Penny makes me smile. :D

Favorite male character? I got a couple but at the moment it’s tied by Sun and Roman. Sun has fun energy and Roman is himself and iconic. Others are: James is hot and so is the bad bird BF he got by being autistic. Mercury is cool for the 5 seconds of screentime he gets every volume now. Tyrian and Watts got impeccable swag and the 5 hour long make out scene between the two of them was very interesting. Adam is cathartic and fun as hell to write my little meow meow. Jaune is best when he’s just a little loser dork, and Ren is very pretty.

Favorite Volume? Surprise surprise, Volume 3. I fucking love tournament arcs. I. Love. Tournament. Arcs.

Favorite Episode? That whole Apathy Arc in V6!!! Great horror in my opinion. I wish they’d show off more creative Grimm like that again. And as a side note, V6 is just… the best looking volume.

Favorite cast member? If they count, Jeff and Casey!! SUCH good music.

Favorite ship? *cracks knuckles* Freezerburn, Catmeleon, Monochrome, Schne//ekos, Pussy Magnet Purrah, Greek fire, nuts and dolts, Bees Schnees, Khali, Spicecream, Seamonkeys, Emercury, If there’s one between Ilia and Ruby put it here, Ginger Snaps, Arctic Winter, Silver Lotus, *looks at writings on my palm* Snow pines, Ironqrow, James x Oz, Crimsun, Strawbana, Nuts and Volts, and Rosebird. To name a few. Some might not be my favorites, these are just ones I like/like in concept. :) Character I’d die defending? Sienna fucking Khan. The whole White Fang, honestly. I do think protesting through violence against your oppressors is very swag and real actually. Plus she’s hot.

A character I can’t sympathize with? Uhhhhhh…… SALEM!!!!!!!!!! Cinder too ish but Salem mostly. Like, I feel a TINY bit bad, only because the gods are undeniably awful garbage horrible terrible. She still sucks though.

A character I grew to love? …Adam. I did not give a single shit about his decently attractive redhead ass until that reveal and his death in V6. He has become my blorbo; my skrunkly. My cringefail loser, my girly pop. Engrained within my brain like a silly silly worm. He’s fun to draw. Fun to write. REALLY fun to write. I can put him in so many situations. So many bittersweet, melancholic situations. And in so many outfits.

My Anti-otp? Ive got a couple.

Bumbl//Bee. Not my thing. Could have been, had they not continually tried making “Only disabled main character losing her arm” something “romantic” as well as paralleling said character to her partner’s… um… ex abuser? Hello?

Embe//rald. Fuck Abusive ships.

Frostbite. This one is actually one of my least favorite ships, as it is essentially a pairing between the ex-racist ex-heiress of a huge company to the in universe minority said company enslaved and branded while he was a child. Plus, again. Fuck. Abusive. Ships.

Why Ruby’s V9 Arc is Still Incomplete(For Now) Part 3

Even though Ruby has dealt a major blow to her repression by rejecting the believe her mother was perfect(Ruby striving for herself instead) , 

Ruby still probably already became too accepting of not being able to express herself to the others despite accepting herself since her main fear was mostly about not being able to handle her duty. She does want to be more connected with the others but she lacks the same experiences Yang, Weiss, and Blake had with each other
