I’ve wanted to be part of a Zine for a while, but I haven’t seen any that catch my interest, or they’ve already closed.
So what if I made my own? What are y’all’s thoughts on a Yellowjackets Zine? It would have art, fanfic, and all kinds of other content in it. I’d just have to figure out how to organize and put it all together
I’ll think about it and if I get the info I need to host and put it together I’ll make an interest form. It wouldn’t happen for a bit, but maybe over summer while I’m off from school
(For those who don’t know, a Zine is a self published magazine like collection of published work that usually has a very small print count)
Would anyone be interested in a free digital zine about how to pickle vegetables and and mushrooms?
Depending on how long the zine is, I might also include how to dry and properly freeze food items.
It would at least include how to prepare for pickling, which vegetables are good for it, and probably a couple of simple pickling recipes. It would also include some illustrations to help get the point across.
It would be something you could use in everyday life and possibly introduce you to a new cooking method. Pickling is fun and simple, and it helps to preserve your food.
Bouquet zine. Assign a different flower to each character. Showcase it and explain the meaning, followed by fics and illustrations of the character strongly featuring said flower and the themes surrounding it
Aside from writing up band features, I also finally have a zine idea. I want to use the ways I was hurt to help other people.
If I get a chance to make a zine, it's going to be about sexual coercion and things that can be done to avoid/end it. I will keep this in mind next time there's a zine workshop at the local university.
In the mean time, I can brainstorm little drawings and collages to use with whatever info I assemble.
I would also want to write an article or something about how predatory the alternative/goth scene can be here. I just don't know where to start because I am more focused on figuring out how I'm going to write about peoples' music right now.
Helping garner more support for bands is probably going to be another great, positive experience. I've wanted to do this for a long time. I am more of an encourager than a critic.
I have an idea for a comic that I’ve been wanting to make for a while (originally I wanted to do a podcast but I feel like it’d be easier to make a comic zine instead)
I’m not gonna go too into detail but it’s about a guy who accidentally catches a “ghost bus” one night and then begins purposefully catching them and trying to record what happens.
It gets weirder but I don’t want to spoil anything
Journal style zine of a single characters detailing adventures, events or simple introspective pieces from the perspective of the characters, with pictures, doodles, drawings, maybe scribbled comments from other characters
i can post this now !! i was chosen to be the back cover illustrator for the Four Seasons Huntlow Zine, and i’m very happy with the result ☺️ thank you so much @fourseasonszine ! this meant a lot to me.
