Big announcement! For the past couple of months I've been working behind the scenes to create an audio roleplay script writing guide! This guide is immensely helpful whether you're a new writer or an experienced writer who wants to improve their craft and see an in-depth point of view.

Querxes is like, the worst because I actually really love the way their videos characterise the girls sometimes, I feel like they kinda get certain aspects of the characters that a lot of mainstream DDLC fandom ignores (Like Monika isn't a yandere she's kind of just a dorky teenage girl, I really love the way the videos characterise Sayori a lot!! It's so similar to how I interpret her! They're not afraid for the girls to be queer either) but then there's also unfunny rope and knife jokes almost every video and they're low-key an AI art bro. Also they follow pewdiepie and yandere dev.

i love having a silly little project. i’m currently abridging and high school-ifying TGWDLM just like. for fun. as an exercise. like i can’t do anything with this but at least now i have sympathy for people who make adaptations/junior versions of shows and make absurd cuts bc i cut Workin’ Boys from my version and it physically hurt me

Every now and then I see screencaps that people take of C-dramas with English subs and...... Good heavens. The translations are so bad and inaccurate and often sound awkward/unnatural... that I wonder if non-chinese viewers actually understand the writing/story they just watched....

#I feel so bad for everyone involved #I saw someone say that Till The End of the Moon's writing was bad #and my initial thought was 'wow your taste absolutely sucks' #but now I wonder if it's actually because the subs didn't manage to convey the actual story properly #TTEOTM was not a masterpiece overall #but it did a lot of things right #particularly in the characterization of tantai jin #Blue Whisper was spectacular apart from a bit of pacing drag in the middle #but no one ever talks very much about it #and maybe that's because the subs were inaccurate too #Mandarin Chinese is not an easy language to sub into English #to keep the cps low enough and yet keep the poetry in the words and also not sound weird #but damn #I get that it's probably partly because the subbers are given tight deadlines and a script without much explanation or context #but what is the point of subbing something so badly that people walk away with only a shallow understanding of the story #such an absolutely pity #my thoughts

uh... a friend gave me a thing some pop science guy did as a "haha what if [some anime] mechanic happened like this" and it got me so fucking mad the two of us were bitching for 12 hrs straight and i had to contemplate atomic chemistry again for the first time in 10 years
