not to complain about something nobody cares about but why are so many asmrtists so far away from the camera now. a few years ago they were all up on it right in your face how it should be and now they’re like a full two feet away. how are you trying to do a personal attention asmr when your makeup brushes are visibly nowhere near my person. it’s so odd like where did the intimacy go. also why are peoples sets so fucking bright its a legit effort to find a nice dark video with a stranger acting like they’re close to me. actually it’s not even that they’re far it’s also having no sense that the camera is a ‘person’ in the fantasy of it. doing “hair brushing” where i can see the comb will take me out of it. if you say it’s on my body but you’re putting your props on my ‘face’ that’s not real. where did the sense of interpersonal care go. i’m blaming iphones
#instead of using a camera camera it’s a phone camera where it harder to tell the space and also they shoot distance strangely#plus it’s hard to achieve a touching the camera effect without it being really fucked up#it’s certainly a more accessible way to shoot but it loses a lot#and don’t get me wrong i actually LOVE the one minuter tiktok style vertical video asmrs#that single trigger in short bursts stuff MUAH really do#but it has such a distinct visual style from other asmr and some of those choices of that style are kinda baffling#when you think about what asmr is ‘for’#couple this with like#’putting you to sleep’ videos that now require you to have your eyes open the whole time (why)#and yes shit being SO fcuking bright AND that one channel totally dominating all other no talking stuff#so that it’s actively hard to find more of itOH AND THE LONG SPEAKINH INTROS#it’s somewhat frustrating to find asmr i actually like the style of it has become very youtube#there’s like a circle of korean creators that still do the ‘older’ style which i like but i don’t speak. korean#so even that’s difficukt when i don’t want my eyes open for subtitles though granted that’s not really necessary#idk it’s weird cause there’s like already an establish ‘old’ or ‘classic’ asmr style which is ALSO distinct and older than what i mean#it’s like another new style of the genre distinct from the last which is itself distinct from the original#can an internet historian get on thsi#who’s responsible#myposts

Any tips on learning to make buttonholes? I've been putting it off for.... *checks notes* like three years.... but better late than never and all that. I don't have any fancy machines so I gotta do it by hand but that seems right up your alley.
Thanks!
It IS up my alley, yes, I do most of my buttonholes by hand!
I'm actually part way through filming an 18th century buttonhole tutorial, but I expect it'll be a few more weeks before I finish that and put it on the youtubes, so in the meantime here's the very very short version. (The long version is looking like it'll probably be about 40 minutes maybe, judging by how much script I've written compared to my last video?)
Mark your line, a bit longer than your button is wide. I usually use a graphite mechanical pencil on light fabrics, and a light coloured pencil crayon on dark ones. (I have fabric pencils too, but they're much softer and leave a thicker line.) You may want to baste the layers together around all the marked buttonholes if you're working on something big and the layers are shifty and slippery. I'm not basting here because this is just a pants placket.
Tumblr media
Do a little running stitch (or perhaps a running backstitch) in fine thread around the line at the width you want the finished buttonhole to be. This holds the layers of fabric together and acts as a nice little guide for when you do the buttonhole stitches.
Tumblr media
Cut along the marked line using a buttonhole cutter, or a woodworking chisel. Glossy magazines are the best surface to put underneath your work as you push down, and you can give it a little tap with a rubber mallet if it's not going through all the way.
Tumblr media
I'm aware that there are some people who cut their buttonholes open using seam rippers, and if any of them are reading this please know that that is abhorrent behaviour and I need you to stop it immediately. Stop it.
Go get a buttonhole cutter for 10 bucks and your life will be better for it. Or go to the nearest hardware store and get a little woodworking chisel. This includes machine buttonholes, use the buttonhole cutter on them too. If you continue to cut open buttonholes with a seam ripper after reading this you are personally responsible for at least 3 of the grey hairs on my head.
Do a whipstitch around the cut edges, to help prevent fraying while you work and to keep all those threads out of the way. (For my everyday shirts I usually do a machine buttonhole instead of this step, and then just hand stitch over it, because it's a bit faster and a lot sturdier on the thin fabrics.)
Tumblr media
I like to mark out my button locations at this point, because I can mark them through the holes without the buttonhole stitches getting in the way.
For the actual buttonhole stitches it's really nice if you have silk buttonhole twist, but I usually use those little balls of DMC cotton pearl/perle because it's cheap and a good weight. NOT stranded embroidery floss, no separate strands! It's got to be one smooth twisted thing!
Here's a comparison pic between silk buttonhole twist (left) and cotton pearl (right). Both can make nice looking buttonholes, but the silk is a bit nicer to work with and the knots line up more smoothly.
Tumblr media
I've actually only used the silk for one garment ever, but am going to try to do it more often on my nicer things. I find the cotton holds up well enough to daily wear though, despite being not ideal. The buttonholes are never the first part of my garments to wear out.
I cut a piece of about one arm's length more or less, depending on the size of buttonhole. For any hole longer than about 4cm I use 2 threads, one to do each side, because the end gets very frayed and scruffy by the time you've put it through the fabric that many times.
I wax about 2cm of the tip (Not the entire thread. I wax the outlining/overcasting thread but not the buttonhole thread itself.) to make it stick in the fabric better when I start off the thread. I don't tend to tie it, I just do a couple of stabstitches or backstitches and it holds well. (I'm generally very thorough with tying off my threads when it comes to hand sewing, but a buttonhole is basically a long row of knots, so it's pretty sturdy.)
Tumblr media
Put the needle through underneath, with the tip coming up right along that little outline you sewed earlier. And I personally like to take the ends that are already in my hand and wrap them around the tip of the needle like so, but a lot of people loop the other end up around the other way, so here's a link to a buttonhole video with that method. Try both and see which one you prefer, the resulting knot is the same either way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes I can pull the thread from the end near the needle and have the stitch look nice, but often I grab it closer to the base and give it a little wiggle to nestle it into place. This is more necessary with the cotton than it is with the silk.
The knot should be on top of the cut edge of the fabric, not in front of it.
Tumblr media
You can put your stitches further apart than I do if you want, they'll still work if they've got little gaps in between them.
Keep going up that edge and when you get to the end you can either flip immediately to the other side and start back down again, or you can do a bar tack. (You can also fan out the stitches around the end if you want, but I don't like to anymore because I think the rectangular ends look nicer.)
Here's a bar tack vs. no bar tack sample. They just make it look more sharp, and they reinforce the ends.
Tumblr media
For a bar tack do a few long stitches across the entire end.
Tumblr media
And then do buttonhole stitches on top of those long stitches. I also like to snag a tiny bit of the fabric underneath.
Tumblr media
Then stick the needle down into the fabric right where you ended that last stitch on the corner of the bar tack, so you don't pull that corner out of shape, and then just go back to making buttonhole stitches down the other side.
Tumblr media
Then do the second bar tack once you get back to the end.
Tumblr media
To finish off my thread I make it sticky with a bit more beeswax, waxing it as close to the fabric as I can get, and then bring it through to the back and pull it underneath the stitches down one side and trim it off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my experience it stays put perfectly well this way without tying it off.
Voila! An beautiful buttonholes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want keyhole ones you can clip or punch a little rounded bit at one end of the cut and fan your stitches out around that and only do the bar tack at one end, like I did on my 1830's dressing gown.
Tumblr media
(I won't do that style in my video though, because they're not 18th century.)
Do samples before doing them on a garment! Do as many practice ones as you need to, it takes a while for them to get good! Mine did not look this nice 10 years ago.
Your first one will probably look pretty bad, but your hundredth will be much better!
Edit: Video finished!

If she's around.
(Lando norris x leclerc!reader)
When lando decides to make a video along with two of his friends for their YouTube channel his girl of course had to make an appearance
or
In which ethan and ginge are always reminded of the fact that they are single.
Masterlist
N.b: just inspired by the new quadrant video, I loved it, obviously I have no idea if ginge or ethan are single or not, but for the purpose of this fic they don't... WARNINGS: not proof read, some swear words here and there (friends jokingly insulting each other), sexual implicantions?.... and I think that's it? If I missed anything else lmk please.
Ethan and Ginge did not think this through. They obviously got too excited about the idea and did not sit down to actually think about the consequences.
What are the consequences? That damn breakfast that Lando Norris is having them eat.
"This is criminal mate, I can see some good fucking food in there."
Ginge complained as he placed the cup underneath his nose, trying to see if the smell is as bad as the food looks.
"Ah no no, I can't give you that."
"Well, why not? It sure as hell doesn't look like you threw it up."
"That's the missus' breakfast, she'll kill me if I let you eat it."
Now, lando was just messing around. Yn was well aware of the fact that his friends were coming over and she prepared extra food in case they deviate from the video's plan.
"The missus?" Ginge asked as he took the spoon from the f1 driver "who is she? And why have I never seen her before?"
"What are you talking about, you've seen her before."
"I think I'd remember if I've seen a girlfriend of yours mate."
"You have ginge." Ethan answered as he looked at the red head "in one of the streams."
Farrowing his eyebrows ginge tried to remember, he was sure he had never seen lando with a girl before, he would definitely remember if- oh. oh. oh.
"No," ginge gasped as he looked at lando with uncertainty "no way mate. She is not your girlfriend."
"Umm, yes she is."
"No she's not."
"Yes, she is!"
"No, no she's not! She is too pretty for you."
Ethan chocked as he looked at Lando's disbelief of what his friend has said.
"Don't look at me like that! You know that she is too pretty for you"
Blinking, lando shrugged in agreement.
"Simp" ginge scoffed as he took a bite out of his breakfast.
"Well, i don't blame him man, have you seen yn."
"Looks like I will double the weights during training" lando has malice behind his smile, which made the two instantly shut up.
Interview room(ANGRYGINGE has a fear of flying)
" I'll be honest, I still believe that yn leclerc is way too pretty for lando. Like yeah sure he's an f1 driver but like aren't 2 of her brothers drivers as well. It would be so funny if they crashed into lando if he pissed her of or made her sad or something, a whole new meaning to the I will run you over threat."
"What time do you go to bed?"
"Ummm, depends."
"On?"
"If the missus is around, dirty bastard." Ginge answered "now, be honest, what time did you go to bed last night?"
"It was, um, it was early."
"You are lying through your teeth mate, I can see those dark circles."
"Hello boys."
"Dirty bastard." Ginge and ethan laughed harder at the coincidence.
"Hello love." Lando chuckled at her confused face as he pecked her forehead.
"What is going on?" Leaning onto his chest, yn looked at the two guests, wondering about their choice of words being the response to her greetings.
"Oh don't worry about it," wrapping his arm around her waist Lando rests his chin on her head " they were just asking if you being with me makes me go to bed at a later time than usual."
"Oh," yn giggled "i guess they're right? Sometimes we stay up reading a book or watching a movie, it depends on what's near us on the bedside table."
"Alright," lando started before taping yn's stomach and pointing to the firdge " you should have your breakfast and we should go back to what we were doing, yeah?"
Humming in agreement, yn turned around and leaned up to give lando a kiss on the cheek, but upon hearing ginge groan, the formula driver grabbed his girlfriend's neck from the front, redirecting her head so that their lips would meet.
"Oh come on mate, no need to rub it in!"
Being in the small makeshift home gym that lando has, the three brits started discussing what exercises they would be doing.
"First we'll start with a warm up, normally there's a few bands" looking around the room, lando tried to remember where he placed them last "they might be in our bedroom."
"How did the workout band made it into the bedroom?" Ethan asked as he started wiggling his eyebrows at ginge.
"Hey sweetheart," Lando's voice could be heard calling out "do you know where my exercise bands are?"
"They're in the bedroom," yn exclaimed "on your bedside table."
Ethan's eyebrows stopped mid movements while ginge's jaw dropped down "went to bed early lando, ehh, yeah yeah sure!"
Monitoring his friends' forms in a workout was not lando thought he would be doing on a day off where yn was with him without one of her brother's breathing down their necks. Speaking of his lovely girlfriend, lando saw her in one of his mclaren shirts and a short in the hallway, on her way to their bedroom he'd assume, with a bowl of what was either watermelons or strawberries.
"Sweetheart," lando spoke, ignoring the task at hand "can I have some please?"
"Of course mon soleil"
Entering the room, yn took a look at both boys before going straight to her boyfriend. Lando's friends were glaring daggers at him as he just placed his hand on the back of yn's hands as she placed a piece of watermelon in his mouth, making him hum pleasantly at the sweetness that filled his mouth.
"This is so unfair." Ginge complained
"I know mate, such bullshit, we should get to eat that as well."
"Yeah sure." lando agreed as yn placed another piece in his awaiting mouth.
"Well, now you're just being a dick. Come on yn, I want some as well."
"Are you asking my girl to feed you?"
"You're not letting me out of this workout anytime soon now, are you?"
"I think you should add weights onto their backs," yn stated as she smiled innocently at ginge and ethan "Charles, Arthur and Enzo always fo that to each other for the hell of it."
"Oh, you are evil miss leclerc, truly evil."
Ethan watched as lando told ginge to not lean with the weights pushing his neck, it was tough and they only had like a third of what lando usually does.
"So, who usually does this with you? Like you have to have someone to like push the weights, right?"
"Yeah yeah, usually it's my trainer, but then when something comes up or I just feel like training on my own it's yn who's helping."
"Oh look at him just rubbing it in that he has a girlfriend."
"Oh god," lando laughed in disbelief "you're the one who asked."
"The important question is," ginge started as he removed the equipment from his forehead "can yn do this? Like the neck training."
Lando stayed quite, thinking if he'd ever seen his girlfriend doing it or if her or her brothers ever mentioned that she does it. "No, I don't think so. Hold on."
Leaving the room, lando headed into the bedroom having a quick discussion away from the camera and the mics.
"So," lando said as he entered the room with yn behind him "yn will be doing the neck training, we'll go with 5 kilos."
"How about 10?" Yn asked as she took a seat on the bench
"What?"
"Well, for a while charles was convinced I'd get into a car crash and he took me training with him for like a year or something, it was insane."
"I'm sorry, what?"

Breakfast Time
My son’s stuck in a time loop again.
He thinks I don’t know, of course. He’s never told me that this happens to him (or that he can do this, possibly; I’m not sure which it is.) Maybe I’m a bad mother, if I haven’t proven myself worthy of that trust. But there is only so many times that one can watch their son trudge through a day with bored impatience, anticipating everything you say just a little too quickly and showing no surprise to even the most surprising event, and then come downstairs the next day disoriented but rejuvenated and with a new zest for life and a tendency to get blindsided by even the most predictable things, before one makes the obvious connection.
I don’t think he’s lived through this day too many times yet, because he’s not frustrated by my good morning joke but not surprised by the monster attack being announced on the news. He eats his toast makes polite conversation that sounds just a little too rote until his sister comes down, and he puts his toast down in that distinctive way that make her eyes widen in sudden realisation, a reaction I never would have noticed if I wasn’t looking for it. He told her about three time loops ago, I think, although it might’ve been earlier and I just never noticed the signal until then. I make sure to keep the smile on my face as I push a plate of toast towards her.
The thing on the news is some kind of flying beast, and my son’s eyes don’t leave the TV screen. I expect that calm, solid determination that I usually see in his expression on days like this, but instead he watches it only with a wary sort of calculation. I suppress a sigh – it looks like I won’t be remembering today, then.
The pair exchange glances and look to me. “Hey, mum, I figured we should go to school early. We’ve both got these big tests coming up and – ”
“Yes, fine, whatever. Go.” I know what you’re thinking – obviously they’re off to do something dangerous, and obviously they’re far too young for this sort of thing, and obviously I shouldn’t enable this, and I’m a terrible parent for letting them run off to maybe get themselves killed someday. But I put this to you:
How, exactly, do you expect me to stop them?
As my son heads for the door, though, I almost stop him. I consider, not for the first time, just telling him what I know, what I’ve figured out, and asking him to explain everything, to say where he’s going and what he plans to do about that thing and if his sister is involved and if they at least have help, to put my mind at ease. I don’t, though. Because, logically… I must have done that before, right? In at least one of the countless days that never happened. I must have gotten worried or angry or just fed up with this ridiculous charade and told him that he wasn’t as good at hiding as he thought he was. He has to know that I know, right? And yet, he still chooses to let it play out like this.
Or, perhaps, he told me once. That must have happened, right? I must have been there to help, to patch his wounds and dry his tears and listen to him confess his fears or his worries or his regrets about this big responsibility, about whatever he’s doing out there. He must have told me, at some point, at least once, in one of those nonexistent days. And afterwards, he chose not to tell the me that stuck around. Meaning that I must have given him some reason to keep this secret.
What did I do to him? What did I say to him? How bad a confidante must I have been, that he chooses instead to keep me in the dark?
They leave, they ‘go to school early’, and I start on the dishes. As I wash my daughter’s breakfast crumbs away, the plate slips from my fingers and shatters on the tiles at my feet. I sigh, and turn to get a broom.
Then stop. Pick up all the other dirty plates. And shatter them, one by one, on the tiles.
Then I leave the mess behind me, pull a full tub of rocky road ice cream out of the freezer, and resolve to spend the day eating junk and watching youtube videos. After all, it’s not like it’s going to matter tomorrow, right?

drop the dan loving goblin phil essay rn
(in reference to my tag on this post)
OKAY SO! In BIG dan says this about phil: "And this is when, through the magic of the internet, I met Phil. And obviously we were more than friends but it was more than just romantic. This is someone that genuinely liked me. I trusted them. And for the first time since I was a tiny child, I actually felt safe. [...] Especially to anyone that has experienced the kind of self-hatred that I have dealt with, one person accepting you can make all the difference" (ty @goldenpinof for the transcript 🕺). Now obviously, this is in the context of dan being gay so for the most part he's referencing his sexuality here when he talks about being accepted, and I am not trying to undermine that at all. But I think that phil's acceptance of dan went deeper than just his sexuality (goblin Phil comes into this I promise lol).
dan also talks a bit in BIG about how he was nerdy and was bullied for that before he was bullied for being gay. He's also mentioned other times how being nerdy/geeky didn't use to be accepted. In the 4/13 stereo show, dan says: "Before YouTube, if you were a nerd, you felt like you weren't a valid member of society unless you were, like, captain of the football team or whatever. [...] Now, thanks to social media, it's like 'oh, okay, well if someone like Hank Green can exist, I'm fine.'" What's extra interesting about this example specifically is that dan is talking about representation in response to a fan prompting him to talk about queer representation in media. So like, yes the majority of dan's struggles in accepting himself were surrounding his sexuality, but I do also think there was a layer of being a nerdy kid at a time when it wasn't cool or fun that added onto him not accepting himself. And I do not think that that's completely separate from his nonacceptance of his sexuality.
So, what exactly does this have to do with dan expecting phil to be super debonair and then having those expectations shattered? But then still wanting phil, arguably even more than he did before? Well, I think that phil was (and is) unapologetically himself, and that was inspiring for dan to see. dan said in BIG that he didn't meet an out gay person until he was 18, so either that person was phil himself or he met phil shortly afterwards and phil was therefore one of the first out gay people dan knew. and we know from phil's coming out video that he wasn't ashamed of his sexuality at that time. but phil's acceptance of himself goes beyond his sexuality, like just look at his YouTube content at the time. he was doing experimental stuff that was weird as shit (I don't mean that in a bad way I like his old vids!). most people probably would not have the confidence or self-assurance to make the stuff he was making, let alone post it. and then, beyond that, he was just a nerdy guy himself! but it was something that he openly talked about online and we know he and dan bonded over video games/tv shows/etc.
And now let's think about this from dan's perspective. He's been watching this guy's videos forever. He's been talking to him online for the past couple of months, and while he was talking with phil (rather than "amazingphil"), I'm sure there was still that element of like "wow holy shit I can't believe I'm talking with amazingphil!" Hence why dan says in the mean girls video that he was expecting phil to be all "hi, I'm amazingphil! 😏" when they first met (also side note, when dan starts to make this joke phil starts doing it at the same time, so I'm sure this is a discussion they've had before lol). but Phil wasn't like that!!! he was all hunched over and awkward and dorky! because he was nervous!! BUT he wasn't ashamed of that. he wasn't trying to put on some AmazingPhil™ Smooth Operator Refined front. He was just himself. Unapologetically so. And for dan, I think that that meant so much in terms of accepting himself, but also feeling accepted. because how was he going to believe phil when he said "dan I love you for who you are" if phil was hiding himself around dan?
So yeah, I think that's why dan saw goblin phil, not amazingphil, and was still like "yeah I want to build my life with this person." Because for him, phil represented self-acceptance and being accepted and a safe place and someone who he could be on the same wavelength with and true unconditional love and someone he can geek out with and someone who will let him yap for an hour about whatever the hell dan has decided to talk about that day. of course he would like phil more than whatever version of amazingphil he had built up in his head. because phil loves dan for who he truly is and dan loves phil for who he truly is :)

As much as Alex’s response was gracious and well written, I really do believe anyone who bothered to read through the original “callout” document could have come to most of these conclusions themselves. It’s a ridiculous laundry list of personal relationship grievances, outing a trans woman while claiming her identity is a lie and her presentation inherently fetishistic, and attempting to vilify and humiliate her by publicly exposing details of her sex life. With the exception of heavily venting to a 16 year old fan, which I do see as irresponsible and which Alex acknowledges and apologizes for in her response, there’s basically nothing in the document that merits outrage to begin with. It appears that Ven is at least 22 years old. That’s my age, and it makes this whole thing feel almost comical. 22 is old enough to be able to handle expressing your boundaries—yes, even in conversation with a person who has almost a million subscribers on youtube for their spooky horror videos, wow, what social power—especially when that person is clearly receptive and immediately pumps the brakes when you do bring those boundaries up.
I’ve been following the discussion surrounding this pretty closely for the last week or so, and am happy to see that plenty of other people have noted the rampant transmisogyny and general abuse of buzzwords to rile up the impressionable and bloodthirsty internet into trying to validate the Victim’s hurt feelings over their ex. It’s despicable. I wish the very best for Alex moving forward. Please at LEAST read the call out posts you are spreading with a critical eye, especially when those posts (as they often do!!) attempt to equate transfeminine identity with “perversion.” That should be an instant red flag.

Those Damn Edits
Pairings: Jenna Ortega x Reader
Content Warning: G!P Jenna Ortega, Jenna Ortega has a penis, Gentle Sex, On Set, Semi-Public, AFAB Reader
Summary: Jenna catches their castmate watching sexual edits of her...
WC: 1379
Tumblr media
It was a casual day on the set of Beetlejuice. You were a side character, just one of the townsfolk. You was happy to be in the film though since you were around 1 of your favourite actors. Jenna Ortega. You smiled as you was on your phone on the side while Jenna had a scene with another townsfolk. You had on your headphones as you was just browsing through Instagram and taking photos before you was thinking. That’s when you was quickly switching to TikTok, thanking the gods that there was WiFi on set. You would be dead if not as you wanted to watch your Jenna Ortega edits in peace… well mostly since some people were still around.
You was halfway through a edit, unaware Jenna had finished her scene as you was transfixed by the edit. It was to the song ‘Treat Me Like a Slut’ by Kim Petras. You blushed as you was watching it. It was to scenes during Wednesday when she was injured at the end, but edited to make it look sexual as well as when she was Vada and got on top of Mia. You bit your lip before you was jumping at s touch. It was Jenna touching your shoulder. You jumped and quickly shut your phone off, looking at the up-and-coming actress. “Hey Jenna,” you spoke, trying to seem innocent.
“Whatcha doing?” she asked, raising her eyebrow. “Saw a video of me after all,” she added on. You froze and shook your head.
“No. Just was on TikTok and an edit of you came on,” you explained, trying to act like you didn’t like it.
“Show me?” she asked. Embarrassed, you nodded and disconnected your earphones then played the video again, embarrassed. It had the red heart and showed it was saved to a collection too. In your embarrassment you missed her smirk. “I see,” she spoke and was thinking. “Meet me at my trailer after my scenes are done? Director said he doesn’t need you anymore,” she spoke. You nodded, thinking you’d get in trouble.
“Yes ma’am,” you spoke, showing more of your embarrassment. In response she just nodded and left.
-
At around 4pm, Jenna was back in her trailer where you was sat on her couch, just looking on your phone as you was still rather embarrassed. You was watching your favourite YouTuber this time though as you was relaxed. Again, you had on headphones so you wasn’t aware she was there until she sat next to you. You immediately pulled the earbud out and looked st her embarrassed. “Hey Jenna,” you spoke quietly.
“Hey Y/N. So… why was it saved?” she smirked out.
“I just… have a little bit of a celebrity crush on you,” you decided to admit, thinking it would ruin your relationship.
“I see… who doesn’t?” she spoke cockily. “Anyways, I don’t mind. You have caught my eye after all too,” she spoke. “Every movie you are an extra in, I catch my eye on you,” she added on to explain. You blushed and nodded.
“I am safe to assume I can kiss you right?” she asked nervously, you noticed. That’s when you held her waist and kissed her gently. She smiled as she held your face and kissed you back, closing her eyes. You kept kissing a few more times before it slowly got deeper and deeper. By the time you had been kissing for 5 minutes, you was pinned down against the couch, her on top and her hand trailing your side under your t-shirt. She slowly pushed her hands up, groping at your chest as she was surprised to not feel a bra. “You wanted me so bad, hm?” she asked against your lip, looking at you. You was nodding as you opened your legs up a little bit.
“Yes ma’am,” you responded, leaning into every touch. That’s when Jenna pulled your shirt off gently and eyed your chest before she was gently sucking your neck.
“I feel like we are going 0 to 100 in this relationship immediately,” she chuckled out. You was nodding.
“I’m fine with it if you are,” you responded. She smirked.
“I’m more than fine,” she then spoke, taking off her own shirt and taking off her bra. You also eyed her chest before she went down again and sucked a hickey on your shoulder, pressing her erection against your thigh. You gasped before you was trying to push against it. She smirked, slowly tugging your sweatpants down with your underwear, just wanting you already. She also did the same with her jeans and boxers, leaving them at her ankles.
“You a virgin?” she asked. You nodded your head, blushing at the size. You wondered how you would take it. “You need to be stretched?” she added on.
“Maybe, I don’t know,” you admitted.
“I’ll do it just in case then. That ok with you, Y/N? Safe word is pineapple,” she replied, to which you was nodding. Slowly but surely, she entered one finger, looking at you. You nodded your head as she was fully entering it. You shook yoir head once it was fully in, needing to adjust. She waited patiently and to distract you, she went up to your face and kissed you gently. You proceeded to kiss back as you held her waist. Soon she was moving it gently, still kissing you softly. You was moaning throughout. After a bit, you both had to pull away as she was slowly entering a second one.
You moaned a bit louder as you arched your back, gripping her shoulders tightly. She was being careful and gentle as she thrusted it inside, glad she decided to do this. She soon used her thumb to rub at your clit. You saw stars as you couldn’t help but cum at that. “Sensitive little thing aren’t you?” she asked quietly to which you nodded. During that time she added her third finger and was certain she’d fit then. “May I enter you?” she asked quietly.
“Please do. I’m on the pill too,” you spoke, adding the last bit as you saw her about to grab a condom. She grinned and nodded before she carefully guided herself inside. You hissed in pain once she was halfway in. “Stop for a moment. Need to adjust,” you groaned out. After a minute, you nodded for her to move as she was slowly entering more inside. Eventually she was fully inside as you shook your head. “No moving plesse. Need to adjust,” you grunted out.
“Of course. I’ll wait as long as you need to,” she spoke gently, rubbing your clit as she was kissing you gently. You gasped in the kiss as you held around her shoulders. You soon nodded in the kiss to which she moved slowly. She was doing slow, gentle thrusts as you both moaned in the kiss.
She was eventually speeding up but still gentle. “You can go rougher babe,” you moaned out. Nodding, Jenna got a little rougher as she moanded more.
“You feel so good,” Jenna moaned out as she was thrusting faster, causing you to gasp and hold on tighter.
“You fill me so well,” you groaned out loud as you arched your back, your chest pressing against hers. That’s when she groped your breast and rubbed your nipples. Whining, you was leaned into the touch even more. “Please go rough and fast, you can now,” you whimpered out. Jenna was in shock before she nodded. That’s when she was thrusting harder and faster, moaning loudly while doing so. You was also the same volume almost, before you came all over her dick, where you was much louder. Due to the clenching Jenna also came inside as she held you tighter and closer.

You panted as you was both soon laid down on the couch. “Did we really just fuck on a couch?” you then asked, starting to laugh. Jenna laughed too and nodded as she held you. “Yep, and I’d do it again for you,” she spoke with a smile. You smiled and kissed her. “So we are official right?” You asked. Jenna nodded.
“Of course we are. Next time let’s go for dinner and drinks,” she spoke. You nodded, agreeing.

okay so I was watching a video about videos and decided to write about writing (specifically, fanfic)
Typically I don't share my thoughts on fandom as a subculture and how it's changed because I don't have the stomach for the kind of things that can happen when one posts their opinions on social media. But I'm gonna give it a go today because I watched this:
You don't have to watch it, I'll tell you the thing that got me: it was about how on YouTube, people are likely to be fans of specific channels, and if you subscribe to one, you could probably, if asked, discuss what you like about that channel/creator with others. But the way TikTok's feed works (turning you into a passive consumer of an endless stream of short videos), it's more difficult to differentiate who the creators are, even when you subscribe to them. You're more likely to just say, "I'm a fan of TikTok" (...or "I'm addicted to TikTok"). This is evidenced by the fact that at a recent VidCon, TikTokers who had millions of views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers faced empty lines at the meet-and-greets, because their content was just part of a blur of content their subscribers passively put their eyeballs on every day.
And I had a thought: Has AO3 done this for fanfic? Of course AO3's content cannot be passively consumed; you have to enter search terms and use filters to find what you're looking for. But once you have entered such a search, you could well be faced with thousands of results, which you begin consuming by opening tab after tab after tab. If you were not in fandom before 2012, I cannot stress how ludicrous this amount of fanfiction is. Before AO3, unless you were in a MASSIVE fandom (like HP or LOTR), you eagerly awaited the arrival of new fics because there just weren't that many -- and even if you were in a massive fandom, if you shipped one of the less popular pairings (or preferred Gen), you still could not necessarily count on even one new fic a day that was to your tastes.
And in those days when fics were fewer and farther between, and when fandoms were more siloed, you got to know fanfic authors. You recognized their styles. When someone posted a new fic, you were excited because you knew what you could expect based on what you already enjoyed about that author's talents and inclinations. In a small fandom I was in long ago, where only about ten people wrote fic, we once sat around and brainstormed which popular music act's vibe corresponded with which each author's style! (I was The Clash.)
Compare that to now, where many readers in fandom have the opportunity to just click-read-click-read-click-read, not just as a reward at the end of a long day, but on the bus or anywhere. I don't think it's a coincidence that fics get fewer comments than they used to, and there's far less discussion of individual authors. There's no incentive to linger on something even if you enjoyed it, when the next fic is waiting in another tab.
Now perhaps it's better that the structure of fanfic culture has changed such that we have less potential for BNF drama. But it also means that whenever I see newcomers to a fandom asking for recs, most of the responses are "Have you read [the fic with the most kudos and comments on AO3]?" It's not just that this response is a bit superfluous, as the newcomer has probably already sorted the AO3 results by kudos/comments -- to me it also indicates that folks get so much fanfic from The Fanfic Website and so little community from The De Facto Fandom Platforms that it becomes difficult to remember individual fics, what you enjoyed about them, or how an individual author's style might make them a better match for a certain reader. (Yes, I am aware that AO3 has histories/bookmarks for people to refer back to, but when one accumulates 1000 bookmarks and then someone asks for a rec, most likely the bookmark holder is only going to remember, off the top of their head, That One Crazy Outlier Fic That The Entire Fandom Lost Their Shit About Seven Years Ago.)
I dunno, this is all I got in the way of thoughts. I'm not saying I want to go back to the way things were 10 or 20 years ago, but I sure do wish I could a-la-carte it a little, you know?

CHAPTER TEN ☆ THE STREAM
The stream starts off smoothly, fans of both of you trickling in during the waiting screen. You had never played Overcooked 2, but watched the gameplay of it enough times to know what to expect. At least, from the game. You had no idea what to expect when it came to playing with Felix. Jisung had tried to help resssure you, saying to think of Felix as 'just some guy'.
Kinda hard when you've been looking up to him for years.
He started his YouTube channel young, around 14. It didn't start as asmr, but with gaming. You quickly found yourself addicted to his videos, loving the way he described things. It helped that he was someone your age, someone relatable. After starting to stream, you'd stay up most nights to watch with Kai or Jisung, sometimes falling asleep to his voice.
And now here you were, five minutes away from the most anticipated moment of your life.
Another concern of yours was what the chat would be like, especially considering the initial hesitation and hate you had recieved just from being friends with Jisung. It hurt to see, but you felt secure in your friendship. No amount of hate could make you doubt it.
"Y/N?"
The interruption made you look up, seeing Felix's icon light up as he spoke.
"Y/N? You there?"
"Yes!" You cringed at your loud response. "Sorry, yes, I'm here."
He laughed. "Before we start, I just want to say I'm happy you agreed to this! I know we barely know each other still."
That was true. You had no idea what made Felix so excited to get to know you. Had Jisung said more to him than you thought? Actually, you don't even know how close those two were if you thought about it.
"Well, I've only had the biggest crush on you since I was like 14," You blurted, silently cursing yourself. Why didn't you think before speaking?! "Oh my god, that's probably the weirdest thing I could have said to you! I'm so sorry!"
"Ehh, I'm used to weird people," His smile was obvious in his voice. "You'll fit right in with my other friends."
Before you could ask what he meant, it was time to begin.
-
About an hour and a half in, you decided it be best to take a break. Both of you did what you needed, coming back with a snack. You advised the chat to grab something before reading questions or comments.
"Y/N, you can start," Felix stood suddenly, holding up his phone. "Chan is calling, I gotta take this!"
"Oh, okay!" You watched as he disappeared, your nerves coming back to you.
Most questions were for Felix, which you obviously couldn't answer, but there were a lot of comments about you both.
"'Your dynamic is so fun to watch, I'm glad I stopped in'," You smiled. "Thank you so much, aw. There's a few people who've said similar things, so thank you too."
You kept reading positive comments, laughing and feeling more at ease after expecting the worst.
"'Y/N you must be feeling pretty good with'... oh," The smile on your face faded and you looked down.
The comment read, 'Y/N you must be feeling pretty good with your success, too bad it's only because of your... 'friends'. You're so boring on your own.'
There were a few people agreeing, saying you were too quiet, that people only liked you for who you associated with, that you'd never be so popular on your own.
It hurt.
When Felix came back, you tried not to show how you were feeling, easily falling back into laughing along with him.
"Okay, last question!" He announced. "Let's see here... 'hey Lix, did you know about Y/N's old fan account?'"
You nearly choked on your drink.
"Actually yes, I did."
You blush furiously, looking wide eyed at his face in the corner, mouth hanging open. Tears prickled at the corners of your eyes in embarrassment. Before you could say anything. Felix let out a big sigh and a chuckle, shaking his head.
"Fun fact about me... I love secretly interacting with my fans. I may or may not have a secret account..." It was his turn to blush with the confession. "I have a few favourite accounts and," His voice went quieter, "Y/N this is actually so embarrassing to admit to your face, but yours was one of them. When you suddenly stopped posting, I... I was honestly kinda heartbroken. Of course I didn't know it was you at the time!"
For a few moments, you were quiet. What he said came crashing down on you, and suddenly you couldn't stop laughing- no- cackling. He liked your fan account? No, you were one of his favourites?
The idea was so absurd.
"Stop laughing!" He scolded, but his face betrayed him with a wide grin. "It's not- it's not funny! I wanted the world to swallow me up when I found out you were friends with Han considering I'd been lowkey stalking you on the internet for like 3 years!"
Tears streamed freely down your cheeks, and the chat was blowing up. You could barely breathe, coughing to catch your breath.
"Is that why you were so eager to meet?" You asked once you finally calmed down.
"I wanted to put a face to the name," He shrugged, his own laughter calming down. "I mean, I already knew what you looked like I guess. But still! I never expected the chance to meet you."
The chat kept blowing up, but it was finally time to continue what you were here for -- gaming. After a few more frustrating hours, yelling at each other and attempting to be strategic on who does what (but failing horribly), the stream ended.
At the end of the night, your heart felt full. During your years of being a fan account, you worried Felix wasn't who he showed, but tonight and all the texts up until now proved he was even better.

Watcher Update Debrief
I am several days late on posting my full thoughts on Watcher's update regarding their streamer, because each day when I come home from work I feel too tired to do so (and I can't post while I'm at work because my work computer prohibits access to tumblr due to it being a "video streaming website" -- yes, you may laugh). Truth be told, I'm still too tired to do so, but each day that goes by this gets less and less relevant, and after posting so much about the situation over the weekend I don't want to just not post anything about the update video, because I feel I have to give some closure on this. So without further ado, here is that closure. This is going to be pretty long as well (hence not wanting to post it on my cell phone at work), so once again I'm going to put this under a cut to spare everyone's dashboards.
First, I want to address the actions they've announced they're taking regarding the backlash they've received in regards to the streamer, setting aside the actual content of the video itself. (Because there is a lot to dissect in the video itself, both in what they say and how they present what they say, and I want to give full attention to that.)
When Watcher announced the streamer last Friday, they said that they would be virtually quitting YouTube altogether. All they would post on YouTube in the future would be the premiers of each new show, while the seasons themselves would only be released on the streamer, which would require a subscription for the annual price of $60, or the monthly price of $6 (which would total $72 for the year). This of course was only factoring rates for United States residents; the prices would be higher for those internationally. It's also not getting into how the original plan was also to pull all older seasons off YouTube, as evidenced by what the company told Variety, before Ryan backtracked it in response to the initial backlash.
However, in the update, the Watcher team reveals that they are backtracking as much as they can with regards to the streamer. While they are still going to have the streamer for the prices listed, they are going to still upload new seasons of their shows to YouTube, albeit one month later than the shows premier on the streamer. For people who have already subscribed who wouldn't have had they known this was going to happen, they can ask for a refund and they will receive it. Additionally, patrons of the Watcher Patreon will now receive access to the streamer for free, and can also reach out to Watcher for a refund if they've already subscribed to the streamer.
In my opinion, this is the best case scenario. I know there are some people out there who are upset that they haven't canceled the streamer entirely, but for reasons I've spoken about in other posts / comments, I really don't think it's possible. When I wrote my initial debrief post, I thought that they had built their streamer from the ground up, because that was how they made it sound in their initial announcement video. It has since come to light that they're using Vimeo's OTT service. But here is the thing about Vimeo's OTT service: it is not free. And while there is a standard plan that allows a customer to pay $1 per subscriber, the much more likely plan that a company like Watcher is going to use is the Enterprise plan, which would require a contract.
Here are the details of the Enterprise plan:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The expanded bandwidth, upload hours, and 1080p HD streaming are reason enough for Watcher to go with the Enterprise plan over the Standard plan, but any company with half a brain cell would want a dedicated support team in case something happens to go wrong with the streamer at any point. The Standard plan is for individuals who want to get into hosting streaming websites for the first time; the Enterprise plan (as the name suggests) is for companies who want to do so, and Watcher is company.
You'll notice, though, that the Enterprise plan works by a monthly or yearly subscription, and that there is no flat rate available. This means that Watcher would have already negotiated a price, and likely has already paid at least some, if not all money up front (assuming they went yearly instead of monthly, and as Watcher's own plan shows, you normally get discounts for annual plans over monthly ones). What this means is that Watcher has absolutely already put money into the streamer, and that they are in a contract they likely cannot break without incurring more fees / losing money they have spent. So at least for the time being, the streamer has to exist. They can't simply walk away from it completely like some people still want them to.
So with that in mind, deciding to release the new seasons for free a month later on YouTube is the best possible outcome. They're still keeping the streamer for those who have and want to be subscribed to it. Releasing content early on a paid platform (such as, and I am just spitballing wildly here, Patreon) is a practice that many YouTubers have engaged in for a long while now. And I would guess the month delay is because they still really, really want to lure people to the streamer. Depending on how much money they put into that Vimeo OTT contract (and I really have no way of knowing how much money that was), I can understand why. Even so, it is a surprise to me that they are willing to compromise with the fans at all. I really was not expecting them to walk back any part of the decision. So this really is the best possible outcome any of us could have hoped for, in regards to specific actions regarding the decision they made before. The future of Watcher doesn't look as bleak now as it did on Friday.
With that said, let's address the content of the video itself.
Setting aside the "three ex-Buzzfeed employees on a couch" meme quality of the video (especially since the Try Guys on the couch hadn't done anything wrong themselves, whereas the Watcher guys did), here are the specific things I want to address:
1.) They centered Shane in the update video. I believe this was deliberate.
Over the weekend, huge swaths of the fandom blamed Ryan and especially Steven while exonerating Shane. At best, they just ignored Shane. At worst, they insisted that he was secretly against the idea all along and that the other two (especially Steven) had forced him into it / outvoted him. Setting aside the implicit racism in all of this (because although the fandom has had a very hard time admitting it, you don't find the men of color inherently untrustworthy / unlikable / unrelatable and the white man inherently relatable / trustworthy / likable without implicit biases, you just don't), it's unreasonable to think they didn't notice with the flood of hateful comments flooding Steven's and Ryan's socials while Shane got less heat. Not no heat, mind, but considerably less when compared with the other two.
So upon noticing that, they centered Shane -- who was still the most liked by the fandom, the one still seen as a "comrade" by a huge number of the fandom -- in the middle of the couch, to draw the eye, to play to the audience subconscious. The sight of Steven (and to a lesser extent Ryan) makes you angry? Put them to the side, put Shane in the middle. Let his white face calm you down. It absolutely sucks ass that this was needed, but again, there were both explicit racist comments and implicit racism at play all over the place this past weekend. It was disgusting, I'm sure they noticed, and they staged themselves on that couch accordingly.
(And it was staged, as well, because on the podcast they've talked about how Ryan often likes sitting in the center and Shane (and Steven) prefer sitting off to the sides. And in the first video we see this; Ryan is in the middle, with Steven and Shane are on either side of him. But in this one, it's switched. Wonder why? This is why.)
2.) They acknowledge that they messed up, and they apologize.
Now, their bad business decision is their bad business decision. If they wanted to tank their company by moving completely to a paywalled streamer that doesn't have nearly enough content to appease less than the most diehard of fans, much less appeal to potential new customers, that's on them. But in their announcement video, they were obtuse about the financial situations of many of their fans; they were patronizing, they were arrogant . . . they messed up. They messed up, and they say it plainly, and they apologize.
This is the most basic, the lowest of bars to clear. But many YouTubers fail to clear it. It's refreshing to see that they haven't. Personally, I have respect for people who can own their mistakes, apologize, and then resolve to do better in the future. We are all human; we are all going to fuck up at some time or another. The important thing is to acknowledge when we do, apologize for it, and then try not to do it again in the future. The fact that these three acknowledged that they fucked up, apologized for it, and then outlined the actions they're taking to fix the wrong actions they took above are all good things in my eyes.
(On that note, I also appreciate that they specifically address what hurtful things they said, and explain why those things are hurtful. They acknowledge that they blew off all the fans that couldn't afford the streamer, as well as the fans who have supported them via merch sales, Patreon subscriptions, live shows, et cetera for all these years. They acknowledge the comment about "a price anyone and everyone can afford" was insensitive and wrong. Anyone can say "I'm sorry" and have it be meaningless if they don't know why they should be sorry. The Watcher team clearly did listen to the feedback and understands what they did wrong. I appreciate that.)
3.) The one thing in the video I did not appreciate and that I think was a misstep was the part where Ryan tried to once again explain why they thought the streamer was a good idea.
We heard them explain in the announcement video that they need money from the streamer, and that they have a hard time reconciling their content with ads. The problem they face is this: if the audience didn't buy that then, they are not going to buy that now when they've had an entire weekend to be upset. And not only have they had an entire weekend to be upset, but we've also had at least one YouTuber who owns a company that connects YouTubers to advertisers lay out exactly how much money Watcher should be making from their channel and how friendly their channel is to advertisers, so the claims make even less sense now than they did before. Attempting to insist that, "we really do need the streamer money though" is doing little to convince those of us who didn't already believe that. You can say, "we would lose the company if we didn't do it" until you're blue in the face, but you really are wasting that breath.
More importantly, though . . . an apology is not the time for justifications. This video was meant to apologize for your wrongs to your community and announce the actions you are taking moving forward to right those wrongs. Which, to be fair, is what Watcher did. What the video was not for was to say, "But we were right to introduce the streamer because . . ." No one in your audience wants to hear that. Even if it made financial sense (which it did not), this is not the time or place for that, especially when what you are saying now is what you already said in the announcement video. It feels defensive at best. It's simply not the best move. It's not the time or place.
Which is not to say that nothing else should have been addressed here beyond an apology. Had they read a chunk of the fandom the riot act for the racism and other out of pocket comments (e.g. apparently people were posting on Ryan's wedding photos on IG that Mari would leave him when she realized how selfish and greedy he was), I would have supported them in that. Alas, twas not to be.
All in all, my final judgment on the whole situation is this: the response video is the best possible outcome any fans could have hoped for. I will remain subscribed to their YouTube channel, because I am an adult with a full time job and a life and so I don't mind watching the videos a month later if it means watching them for free. I accept the apology that the Watcher team has given, and I appreciate the fact that they got someone with actual public relations experience to assist them in writing and presentation (because they very clearly have a PR person assisting them now -- that was not a Watcher original production).
But just because I accept the apology doesn't mean that I have forgotten, or will forget, what has transpired. I have known for awhile now that Watcher Entertainment is not the tiny underdog they pretend to be. After all, they got DISNEY to sponsor them for an episode of Ghost Files. (The Haunted Mansion episode, to be specific.) When you have Mickelous Fucking Mouse himself opening his checkbook to cut you some cheddar for advertising, you have hit the big time. You can no longer claim to be a small, pitiable underdog at that point. Previously, I was happy for them that they were hitting the big time. I remember messaging a good friend of mine so excited that they were getting paid by The Mouse. After this debacle, though? Seeing them pretend to be starving to death while still getting cut checks by huge corporations for ad revenue? That sweet taste has turned rather bitter, especially when their merch -- multiple items of which I have purchased -- is so overpriced as well. (I paid over $80 for that Mystery Files jacket. It's just a regular denim jacket with the logos stenciled on . . . I was glad to support them and to have a jacket featured on the show, but now . . . smh.)
All of this is to say: I will still watch their shows for free on YouTube. I'll listen to their podcast when I need background noise. But I'll never again buy a piece of merch. And I'll regard them as I do the owners of any other company: businessmen who are, at the end of the day, there to make money. They are company owners, they are actors, and they are nothing more than that. And that's fine. They don't have to be.
That's where I stand, anyway. Everyone else is free to reach their own conclusions on the matter.

If Daggerheart becomes the game that powers Critical Role instead of D&D 5e, you’re going to see a shift almost overnight. How many tables are out there of people who play D&D strictly because it’s the Critical Role game? I guarantee you the number is not zero.
Keep in mind what Critical Role did for 5th Edition: It not only served to promote 5e, it also taught 5e, and the importance of that second part can’t be overstated. To a newcomer, D&D is bigger and scarier to get into than, say, any arbitrary video game. There’s rulebooks to read, dice to buy, you have to find a table of people who aren’t absolute psychos to play with…
Critical Role took one of those impediments out of the equation, by teaching their viewers the 5e ruleset through play. After hours and hours and hours of listening to charismatic voice actors playing, you can start to get a comfort and a familiarity with the rules that you wouldn’t necessarily get otherwise. Critical Role teaches the rules and tropes of D&D to its audience.
Now suppose instead of teaching the audience how to Roll with Advantage, you’re teaching them how Success with Fear/Failure with Hope works. Instead of hearing about Paladins and Barbarians, now you’re talking about Seraphs and Guardians.
It might have made sense for them at one point to weld themselves to the D&D brand, but I think we’ve seen some pretty good evidence that it might not be the best play in the long run. If Critical Role is really getting into the publishing business by way of Darrington Press, then it is absolutely in their best interest to start using their own ruleset.
And it seems like Daggerheart is being built with Actual Play in mind. The fact that it’s being built for Theatre of the Mind style play with a “Yes-and” success/failure mechanic tells me that they want this to be a more narrative-forward “Swashbuckling” game than a “Kick in the door and kill goblins” game. Players are going to have interesting choices either way.
Daggerheart has the chance to fulfill the promise of Dungeon World: To be “recognizably D&D,” but to prioritize the narrative aspects of the game without throwing out the satisfying character customization and progression that D&D is known for. That last bit is where Dungeon World stumbled, in my opinion, but there’s definitely a big opportunity to improve on that style of game.
Critical Role shouldn’t be afraid of D&D because ultimately, their responsibility is to their fans and themselves. They have no obligation to continue to teach and promote 5th Edition. They have millions of subscribers on Youtube, Twitch, the various socials. If they start talking up their own thing, it creates a conversation that has been sorely needed for a long time: “What if D&D isn’t the best game for our table?”
Furthermore, they have a ready-made audience for their game. Critical Role fans are tabletop fans by definition. They’re here to watch a tabletop RPG featuring strong world-building, well-realized characters, and escalating tension and drama. It’s high time that they had a ruleset that prioritized those things, rather than fostering arguments about how the grappling rules work.
I say this not as a Critical Role fan, but as someone who just wishes that the conversation around D&D and tabletop in general was a bit more nuanced. Players should be able to ask for what they want, and not get shouted down because what they want isn’t D&D. Not only does it lead to better game design, it leads to more people at the table actually getting what they want, rather than settling for the “Safe” thing again.

Here’s the thing about WatcherTV,
Let’s talk about what’s being offered —
Let’s talk the financial —
Let’s talk the unanswered —
Let’s talk the solution —
Cumulatively since they began — trailers included — Watcher has 377 videos available for view. Netflix has 17,000 titles. Episodes, movies, and most recently games. If the minimum price of Netflix at $6.99/month provides that, how can one justify $6/month for WatcherTV? 2.2% of Netflix’s size is what Watcher is offering — all of which are currently free on YouTube.
The closer similarity, of course, would not be Netflix but Dropout. The prices of their subscriptions are equivalent, but again, what isn’t, is the amount of content. There is already a significant backlog of videos that can be consumed for new subscribers AND three different shows which post weekly. Had the company come forward with a backlog of new media at the ready to be watched, people would have been far more receptive to this proposal.
I understand that, as a creative, you have certain aspirations for making the best version of your idea. You want what you put out in the world to be as close to the image in your head as possible. Sometimes there are constraints due to time, due to money, due to manpower — so on and so forth. I recognize that. I, myself, have worked professionally, academically, and privately in film/media production. I Understand.
What I do not understand is the decision to ostracize a larger portion of your audience. Not everyone can afford a new streaming service — especially one that offers such little in return for the cost. But beyond the American-centric perspective of it. This platform isolates the majority of foreign fans, especially those who are subject to exchange rates. What I have seen some refer to as “the price of a single coffee,” for others is a week’s worth of food.
This community was beautiful and passionate and diverse as a result of its ability to be easily and freely consumed. That will be lost without change.
Furthermore, we see issue derived from the lack of transparency as to what is being offered. We are being promised “bigger and better,” new things, and the return of collapsed things. However, there is a significant lack of clarity and it is felt. Beyond Travel Season and its upcoming May time release, there is no clarity as to what (beyond the old content) people are getting. Yes, there is the vague promise of future seasons of the fan favorites, but there is no clear time as to when. If people subscribe now, how long will they be waiting for content that isn’t already free?
How can this be fixed? Frankly, good fucking question. Perusing through the comments, it’s pretty clear that a majority of fans feel blindsided and lied to. Watcher has consistently denounced capitalism and condemned corporate greed, and to what extent this behavior falls into it definitely raises some questions. I think it is worth acknowledging, they are a company that has grown to put out content. That means they are responsible for 27 (I believe) paychecks, beyond their own. But that is not the only explanation for why they’re doing this. Or their most prominent one — I’ve already acknowledged their bigger and better mindset, but their other reasoning was that they are at the mercy of advertisements. And that this will stop those.
Well, what if it didn’t? The most obvious compromise, in my mind, would be something like Peacock’s cheapest streaming option of roughly $1/month which includes ads to make up the subscription cost disparity from their ad free option. That is far more manageable for most, even with exchange rates, than $6. It would still be a luxury beyond free, but most people would be able to justify a 1 USD splurge especially while waiting for content backlogs to actually come out.
I don’t hate the Watcher company after this, but I am frustrated and disappointed by their announcement. I am sure it was not done without thought, but it does not feel like it given what they have to actually show for this decision. I have been a consumer of their content for 10yrs, and it is what helps me during troubling times — Just as Shane acknowledged caring about. I would hate to lose the connection to this wonderful community because of a narrow minded perspective on the future. I urge @wearewatcher to consider this moving forward.

Toxic Tumblr Communities
Tumblr is a very interesting place. I feel like women have always dominated this website. While it's a great place for women to express themselves, it's obviously created a lot of really toxic communities that in all honestly could probably only be created by women. You know exactly what the fuck I'm talking about. You've got communities that normalize harmful behavior (self-harm, anorexia, drug taking) and communities that normalize harmful relationship dynamics (the teacher crush and true crime communities, the ddlg community, the kink community in general, etc.), all kinds of different shit. I won't deny that these are all really harmful in their own ways. BUT I can't stand the way many people talk about them.
It's not uncommon for people to make YouTube videos talking about these communities, and totally eviscerating the posters without showing a single shred of empathy, despite most of the posters being depressed, isolated, and traumatized teen girls.
When it comes to the communities that revolve around toxic behavior, I kind of hate how the posters are treated as if it is their fault and their fault alone for other people picking up on the behaviors. If someone looks at thinspo or a SH picture and is like "YES I want that!" did the post directly create those feelings? Or maybe JUST MAYBE the person viewing the post was already mentally ill and now they just become encouraged to be a part of a community with people they relate to? Also I kinda hate how people accuse these posters of "romanticizing" the things that they do, I really don't think it's true most of the time. I think what happens is that women are conditioned into always wanting to appear beautiful, and so they want even their pain to be beautiful. Which is why they then write "sadgirl" poetry about cutting or whatever. I also think it's a coping mechanism. If you're going through something difficult, the least you can do is be poetic about it. I also think that a lot of the times it's a cry for help. It's common to make fun of the emo girl who cuts for attention but even if it's for attention she's still hurting herself.
There are also communities that "romanticize" bad relationship dynamics. When it comes to the teacher crush community, I honestly don't think it deserves the hatred it gets. 99% of the posters have no plans to actually get with their teachers. In YouTube videos about this community, they often respond to the rare posts where underage girls gush about how their high school teacher reciprocates their love. The YouTubers blame the girl for posting about the situation and "romanticizing" it, rather than blaming the fucking adult male for taking advantage of a high schooler. It's abhorrent and I can't stand it.
The true crime community is less defensible, but even then, most of the girls do not support violence, it's more so a fantasy of being able to fix a evil man. And I honestly think it's reflective of the way society tells women and girls that they are responsible for men's feelings and actions, even the very worst of them. And pretty much all the posters are either depressed and isolated teen girls or 30-something year old women who have a history of dating violent and abusive men. When people criticize this community, there's something about the way they do it that's almost victim-blamey, idk. I won't act like what they're doing isn't harmful to the victims, but people act as if drawing the Columbine dudes being yaoi boyfriends or whatever is just as bad as the fucking shooting itself.
And the ddlg community on here mainly seems to be fronted by "littles" who roleplay as underage children having sex with their parents. Again, this is a baddd thing to be encouraging, even if it's through role-play. But I HATE how people act like pretending to be the little is the same as pretending to be the adult. All these girls are fantasizing about roleplaying sexual abuse and idk about you but they really do seem like victims to me. This is not a pass for them to promote harmful behavior but again I just hate the double standards. These people are turned on by being victimized and people somehow don't feel any sympathy for them. They act as if it's the EXACT SAME as being turned on by victimizing others.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I HATE how the standards for women are so much higher than they are for men. Women will post about the pain they are causing themselves, and society gets angry with them for daring to be upfront about it and/or trying to make it seem "beautiful". Women will post about how they want to be victimized, and society gets angry at them for promoting toxic relationships, while not offering them a shred of empathy and asking WHY they want that.
Idk I have a lot of thoughts on this. I'm not saying these girls are completely blameless and I really don't want it to be interpreted that way, but it's crazy to me the way people act like they are heinous and evil (and not like, victims of patriarchal conditioning) for romanticizing situations where they would be victimized.

thats enough baby
inspired by THIS
warnings: SMUT!! dom!nick x sub!reader, degrading, cursing, pet names (baby, pretty boy),cum denial, lowercase intended, not proofread, lmk if i missed smth!!
summary: nicks bf comes up behind nick and tries to show affection and when nick tell him to stop y/n gets bratty with nick wich obviously doesn’t fly.
if you don’t like it don’t read it ‼️‼️‼️
nick is a hard worker. it he has something to do he gets it done. when its time to edit videos he gets it done. when its time to film he stays focused on the video.. most of the time. nicks boyfriend y/n was currently over at the triplets house. he was supposed to come after the video but he decided to come early.
“matt you got fucking pre-cooked salmon?!” chris yells. while chris and matt argue about if the salmon is good to eat. y/n comes up behind nick and hugs him. “your so handsome baby. you know that?” y/n whispers in nicks ear. since they were on camera nick shrugs off his boyfriend. “not right now” nick whispers back. nick felt bad for telling his boyfriend to essentially go away but he was never the type of person to publicize his relationship even if he was a youtuber. so yes his fans knew about him and his boyfriend but he didn’t post about his relationship much.
y/n tried to hug nick once more “y/n. not right now” nick raised his voice. y/n simply nodded and walked away retreating to nicks room.
once nick and his brothers finished filming and cleaning up nick went up to his room to talk to y/n. nick had known that when he had basically blew off his boyfriend he was going to be upset. he felt bad but he had to stand his ground. nick knocked on the door to his bedroom. when he didn’t hear any kind of response he walked in anyways.
on his bed was his boyfriend curled up with blankets. “you don’t have to knock it’s your room.” y/n mumbled out “well i was just-“ nick starts but is soon cut off by his now grumpy boyfriend. “whatever. it doesn’t matter nick.” nicks calmness quickly turned to anger. “lose the attitude. i didn’t do anything.” nicks says with says with a clenched jaw. y/n just rolls over and gives nick a scowl and rolls back over. “alright that’s it.” nicks declares as he locks the door and marches over to were his boyfriend is lied down on the bed. nick effortlessly flips his boyfriend over and pins his wrist above his head.
“n-nick, what are you doing?” y/n asks as he isnt as confident in his smart comments as he was before. nick smiles at his boyfriend with pure amusement. “not so confident anymore are we? since you wanna act like a whiny brat im going to treat you like one.” y/n lets out a whiny whimper. “p-please.” y/n begs. “please what baby? what happened to all those smart comments? use your words i know you can.” “n-need you. p-p-please.”
nick looks at you sarcastic sad look. “awh baby. thats does look painful.” nicks says referring to your painfully still clothed dick. nick reaches for the waistband of your pajama pants and slowly pulls your pants down; inch my torturous inch. finally your pants your off and nick palms your dick through your boxers. this causes endless soft moans and whimpers to escape your lips. nick starts kissing your neck ever so gently. it was one purpose he was teasing you. and you were needy.
as he's leaving his dark purple and red marks on your neck. you start grinding your dick into nicks hand becoming more needy and whiny with every second that passes. he immediately pulls his hand away from your painfully hard erection. nick shakes his head and tsks. “ah ah ah patience pretty boy.” this causes you to let put a loud whine. wich nick shakes his head and laughs at.
he finally takes your shirt off discarding it somewhere in the room. he kisses up your torso until he gets to your neck and eventually your lips. he captures your lips in a dominating kiss. he rolls your bottom lip in between his teeth, catching you by suprise, letting him slip his tongue into your mouth exploring every inch.
nick takes off his own shirt throwing somewhere in the room with the other articles of clothing. he finally takes of your boxers off letting your hard dick dripping with pre-cum spring free. “aww my poor baby.” nick says with faux sarcasm. he starts to jerk you off ever so slowly. however even tho he was going slowly you were still close to an orgasm. “nick p-please i-i-im close. im gonna c-cum.” your cried out. just as you were about to cum he stops. this causes you to start crying out of frustration. “why’d you sto-“ “get on all fours.” nick demands as he cuts your off.
this took y/n by causing him to hesitate, wich made nick clench his jaw in anger. “y/n i swear to god if i have to repeat myself.” this was enough to cause y/n to get into positive in record time. almost as soon as you on all fours. nick slammed himself into you with no warning.
“oh fuck!” y/n groans out loudly. “shh we don’t want anyone hearing you get fucked like a little whore do we?” nick criticizes. nicks thrusts are hard and fast with no remorse. “f-fuck! n-nick i need to c-cum p-please.” you beg.
nicks laughs at your pathetic pleading. “you acted like a fucking brat in front of six million people earlier and you think your gonna get to come that easy? hold it pretty boy, i know you can.” this causes you to let out endless whimpers and whines of protest. “nick fuck!!”
right as your about to cum nick pulls out of you and flips you over on your back like you weigh nothing. theres tears threatening to fall on your water line wich nick takes notice of. “oh poor baby. crying because i wont let you cum.” nick coos with faux sympathy.
this only pushes you over the edge even more. your eyes are screwed shut trying not to cry. again with no warning nick slams into you. causes a loud moan to escape your lips. “FUCK!!” you scream. “quiet matt and chris are still home.” nick chastised. you felt your stomach start to tighten again. “n-n-nick please! i need to c-cum.” you babble and whine. “you know what fine. cum you little slut.” and you did hard. “o-oh fuck.” you whimpered.
both of you let out a low hiss as he slowly pulled out of you. nick went into his connected bathroom and grabbed a washcloth cleaning both of you guys up. plopping down next to you on the bed nicks phone dinged twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
nick thought this was hilarious. “y/n look!” after you read the messages you were utterly embarrassed. “fuck. im never showing my face around your brother again.” you groan, causing nick to laugh again.

( ♡ ) yeonjun //
listening to your boyfriend rant about practice, you were simply watching and nodding along, letting him vent. he didn't realize how into it he was getting or how angry he seemed, so when his hands came up in a dramatic gesture, you flinched away. his rant came to an abrupt stop and he stared at you, eyes wide and lips still parted from the last part of his rant. he was trying to register what happened while you straightened and cleared your throat, trying not to make it so obvious.
'did.. did i scare you?'
the was his voice came out made your heart break a little and you didn't want to nod but you did, you wouldn't lie to him. 'you were just getting a little into it and i could see how mad you were and.. it's not you i'm scared of, it just brought up a lot of bad memories.'
whatever he was mad about was entirely wiped from his memory and he was quickly moving to wrap you up in his arms - of course, after he made sure you were alright with him touching you. the idea of you ever feeling unsafe around him didn't sit well with him at all but he knew it wasn't specifically because of him; that didn't make it any better.
'i'm so sorry, baby,' he mumbled, squishing you tight into his frame, 'i should have paid more attention to what i was doing. you know i would never even think of thinking of doing that, right?'
he was sure you'd probably heard the same from the person who caused this but he hoped one day you would be able to fully believe it.
you just hummed in response, head tucking against him to find solace in the thoughts suddenly swarming in your head.

( ♡ ) soobin //
soobin did his best to remember the things that made you uncomfortable and he prided himself in being good at that, never wanting you to feel such icky things because of him. however, as you were trying to get a cup down from the cabinet, that slipped his mind for a moment.
he didn't make much noise as he came up behind you to grab it, doing it in a nonchalant manner like he'd done for the members before and that was his mistake. you weren't one of his members and he should have remembered you weren't good with people behind you.
the moment you registered his frame, you jerked and pushed him back, an automatic response learned from your ex; you never felt safe with someone so close behind you. as soobin stumbled, he coughed a bit from the shove to his chest and furrowed his brow, hands up to show he wasn't trying to do anything.
'sorry! i should have said something and checked if it was okay,' he got out, straightening himself.
you, having finally cleared up reality, rushed over to make sure he was okay. 'shit, bin, are you okay?' you asked, gently touching his chest with a small frown. 'i'm so sorry.'
he shook his head and showed you a smile. 'don't be sorry, it was entirely my fault. i forgot and you had every right to react that way.' soobin couldn't let you take the blame on how it unfolded, despite the dull ache in his chest, he knew it was something you were struggling with.
when he saw your lips parting to argue, he shook his head and offered a pat to you own. 'do you need help?'
Tumblr media
( ♡ ) beomgyu //
despite how aware he was ninety percent of the time about what was going on around him, beomgyu became absorbed in videos, games or reading quite easily and became oblivious to the entire world. this time, his attention was being held by some weird crafting video on youtube that he'd stumbled upon in some way or the other.
you, on the other hand, had been trying to get his attention for a good ten minutes before it started to bother you. your ex had a tendency to ignore you when he was angry, punishing you by making it seem like you didn't exist to him and a lot of those moments were flooding back to your mind. you tried telling yourself it was okay, you'd done nothing wrong and your boyfriend wasn't the type. was he? had you done something wrong?
biting down on your lip, you decided not to try and bother him anymore, sinking out to the living room. yeonjun was settled on the couch, watching some drama you'd never heard of and his head lifted at the sound of you shutting the door behind you. it only took a couple of seconds for him to register the hurt expression and teary eyes, causing him to get up and move across the room to you.
'y/n? what's wrong?'
his hands settled on your upper arms, looking over you to make sure you were okay as you took a breath so you could speak.
'i-i was trying to talk to gyu but he wasn't paying attention and i know he's watching something, we all know he can get a little oblivious when he gets into something and i know he isn't doing it on purpose but it reminded me of.. you know.. him.. and i started to panic and i didn't want to bother him and--'
yeonjun cut you off from your rant, taking a second to process what you'd even said before furrowing his brow. 'hey, it's alright,' he smiled, patting your arm, 'i know it's hard to deal with and adjust after.. those types of things but outside of that, which i know sounds worse, you know he would never do that. he's just dumb.'
chuckling, you reached up to rub your eyes. 'i know, i just feel like a broken record when i get upset over things.'
'no one sees it that way, trust me. everyone's been through one thing or the other,' he waved a dismissive hand and stepped past you to open the door, 'gyu? get off your phone and pay attention to y/n before i beat your ass.'
you watched as he leaned into the room and bit back a giggle, beomgyu pushing past him after a moment to get to you. 'my baby,' he chimed, automatically hugging onto you and nuzzling into your cheek. 'i'm sorry, i wasn't paying attention.. you didn't have to have him threaten my life, though.'
your eyes rolled. 'threaten your life..? i just.. didn't want to bother you with it.'
the brunette smiled, layering a couple kisses over your lips. 'it's not a bother! nothing that upsets you is a bother.. just hit me next time, okay?'
Tumblr media
( ♡ ) taehyun //
'i don't see why you're so upset.. it was only like, two hours.'
taehyun stared at you blankly for a moment before taking a deep breath, thinking before he spoke. 'you mean the fact i didn't know where you were..? i didn't even know you were going out. i got home and you were gone, not answering your phone. how was i suppose to react?'
you frowned. 'i'm not a child, i'm allowed to go out, tae.'
'for fucks sake, i'm not saying you aren't! but it would be nice to know where you are now and again, don't you realize how dangerous things are nowadays? or am i in the wrong for caring, now??'
he hadn't seen the way you flinched when he pinched the bridge of his nose, eyebrows pulling together in frustration. you didn't realize you were crying until you had to sniff, hands coming up to wipe away the tears quickly. that, he noticed.
'i didn't..' he began, realizing he'd raised his voice at you but he didn't move, knowing he would only make it worse if he got too close, 'i don't care about you going out, love.. i'm not trying to make you feel like a child or like i need to know everything, i didn't even care where you went.. i would have just liked to known you were going out at all. i'm sorry if that came off some other way, i was just worried and the world is a shitshow right now. you weren't answering and i started to get worried.'
he took a minute before he spoke again, reaching out to offer you his hand. you looked at it, debating on if you should or not before taking it, moving to hug around his neck tightly. you didn't have to say anything for him to realize he'd fucked up, your frame having the slightest tremble to it as he hugged around your waist.
'i'm sorry for raising my voice, i didn't mean to and i should have thought it over before i even opened my mouth. i was scared and.. i shouldn't have taken that out on you.' he mumbled, pressing a couple kisses to the side of your head.
Tumblr media
( ♡ ) hueningkai //
roaming around the kitchen to prepare food for everyone, you hummed to yourself, setting a stack of plates on the counter next to the glasses. it didn't take long before your boyfriend strolled in to catch your waist from behind, just wanting to watch as you worked.
the cute, domestic scene didn't last too long though as you stepped back and he didn't register fast enough to follow; this ended with you bumping one of the glasses and it crashing to the ground. you were oblivious to the way he sidestepped and kind of lead you away from the glass, only focused on the comment he made.
'ah.. y/n~ clumsy as ever.' of course it was a joke, especially coming from the clumsiest person in the house. he could breathe and something would break. this didn't register to you at all as you began to tear up.
'i-i'm so sorry, i'll clean it up!' you finally got out, clearly panicking as you crouched to pick up the bigger pieces, 'i'll replace it, i promise!'
it only took your raised voice to get the others attention, soobin poking his head into the room. 'is everything okay?' kai couldn't react fast enough at that point, quickly catching your arm to help you stand back up. soobin had fully entered and was looking between you both and the glass.
'i was distracting her while she was cooking and a glass got broke because i didn't move,' kai answered with a frown, taking the big pieces of glass from you to set on the counter. 'but.. i'm not sure..' he trailed off, not entirely on the up and up about your react. 'baby, it's just a glass.. it's okay,' he finally said.
'go talk to her and i'll clean it up,' the leader nodded, already making his way to the broom, 'and he's right, it's just a glass.. pretty sure we got them at the dollar store.' he shrugged with a small laugh in hopes to make you feel better.
kai seconded the comment and lead you to the living room, onto the couch before crouching in front of you. 'you okay, baby? what's wrong?'
your hands were covering your face, trembling a bit as you tried to calm down and make yourself realize you weren't in that situation anymore. when you finally looked up, you were met with the pitiful view of kai looking lost, confused and a little panicked.
'when, uhm.. my ex and i were together.. i accidently broke one of his bowls because i slipped,' you began, mumbling, 'he got really angry with me and.. and that was the first time he hit me so, i just, i panicked and all i saw in my head was him getting angry.'
the latter's eyebrows pulled together as he frowned. 'that bastard,' he answered much to your surprise considering you'd never heard him use such words in the time you'd know him. 'he'll get what's coming to him one day.. but, that's beside the point. i know it's scary when you've been through something like that but i doubt i could even get angry at you, i'm pretty sure it's impossible? i know you can't just tell yourself that and it'll make it better, but! i'll do everything i can to prove that to you, okay? mistakes happen, things get broken. it'll be okay and no one.. no one will ever have the chance to treat you like that again, okay?'
