#yes i still have thoughts about miranda as i always do

you know, i think the thing about miranda that most make or breaks if any given writing for her is any good, is that you just can't tell if she's doing something on purpose or not.
she switches hard from cute, innocent, head full of fluff and so oblivious and kinda stupid that she matches scott, to having such expertise and cruelty in manipulation and being able to not only get her way but to get it with such violence that it takes everyone else aback — and there is NO way for any other character in the situation to tell if both really are true and equal aspects of her personality and who she is, or if she really is planning this all along and all the innocence was just a farce.
both are given equal weight by miranda, both seem equally likely, and both are roles that miranda inhabits so wholly that there's not really any flaws anyone can find in either one of them. you expect one, the other one catches you off guard. for someone who makes such a show of wearing her heart on her sleeve, it is incredibly hard to actually tell what's going through miranda's brain at any given moment.

Already Taken…
Pairing: Arizona Robbins x wife reader, reader x greys characters
Summary: reader and Arizona are married and have been keeping it extremely under wraps, everything is going okay until some of the interns decide they want to get on your service, leading to Arizona getting jealous and showing them who you belong to.
******************************************************** You walked through the front doors of Grey Sloan and headed straight for your office. You had some meetings to get to so you shot your wife a txt letting her know you’d see her during rounds. You were hired on a few weeks ago but haven’t been able to practice due to various meetings, you were a triple board certified general/obstetric/trauma surgeon who used to be chief of trauma at another hospital. You were dressed to the nines waking in your suit with coordinating stilettos your white coat, after your last 2 hour meeting with Dr. Bailey you rounded a corner running into your wife who was looking down at a chart.
“Arizona!” You said catching her in her tracks.
“Oh god Y/N you scared me.” She said laughing between you. She turned pulling you into one of the on call rooms, “How’d this morning go?”
“Oh you know the usual, they want to know everything about who I am, why I choose this job, why I started in OB and then jumped to general and then trauma…”
“Well I’m sure they loved you I mean I definitely do, though I wouldn’t have been able to focus with you looking like this.” She pulled back taking in the sight before her, your dress pants with the heels hugging your legs and butt in all the right places, your button up had the top three buttons undone revealing just enough breast to still be business but to look amazingly sexy, the way your white coat hugged your arms and how your curls fell perfectly from your bun.
“Get used to it because you’re going to be seeing a lot more of it.” You said placing a quick kiss on her lips.
“You won’t hear any complaints from me Mrs. Robbins.”
“Mm…it’s Dr. Sinclair right now.”
“You’re only helping your case.” She said ghosting over your lips again running delicate fingers tips over the v neck of your shirt, “but unfortunately I do have interns I have to attend to.”
“Yea, I have to go grab my charts and then meet you to do rounding.”
“see you then.”
“sounds good.” You said swatting at her butt as she swayed her hips out the door. You quickly grabbed your charts and made you way down the hall rounding the corner and standing behind a group of eager interns. Who whispered amongst themselves while Arizona, Dr. Bailey, and Dr. Grey stood in front.
I wonder who the new doc is, I wanna know what specialty they are, I bet it’s some old rich white guy, not even 24 hours on the floors and you have people talking. You made eye contact with your wife as she waved you forward, you stepped up next to the other doctors and the whispering stopped abruptly, busted you thought to yourself.
“Good morning interns and welcome to Grey Sloan memorial hospital, I am Dr. Miranda Bailey chief of surgery for the hospital and I am happy to be meeting you all.” She introduced herself and then you went down the line Grey for general, Robbins for PEDs, and then you the new head of trauma.
“I guess it’s my turn,” you all laughed, “I am Dr. Y/N Sinclair and I’m the new head of trauma.”
the next couple weeks went by fairly smoothly, well for a trauma department that is, the interns were always swarming trying to scrub in on the next big surgery. At first you both noticed the whispers and requests that turned into, “I’ll get your coffee,” and then that turned into other favors. You let it slide for a little bit until one day a young laboring mom was being life lighted in with severe trauma injuries, of course all the interns swarmed you and Arizona trying to get in on the surgery.
“Hey Dr. Sinclair?” One of the girls asked.
“Yes?”
“Can I talk to you?” This interns was promising and had been shy through her journey you were waiting for her to take the step and seize the opportunity.
“Sure, though it’ll have to be here cause we’re prepping for this surgery.”
“With her here?” She said shyly gesturing to Arizona who stood across from you at the nurses station.
“Is there a problem with Dr. Robbins being here?” you smiled at the shy intern, you'd seen her interact with Arizona before and saw how she was shy and nervous every time your wife was around, you assumed she had a girl crush whether she admitted it or not and you thought it was hilarious, you just didn't realize that it wasn't Arizona.
“No I um… I wanted to know if I can scrub in today,” she said redirecting her attention back to you and quickly realizing that you had analyzed her entire interaction.
“You know I think I’d be okay with that as long as Dr. Robbins doesn’t mind.” you looked over to Arizona who slowly looked up and nodded.
“Sounds like a plan to me.” She smiled at the young doctor, who quickly scurried away, face flushed red.
“Wow, you’re quite intimidating.” Arizona said looking at you and you chuckled to yourself watching the intern retreat.
“You think so?” You eyed curiously, laughing at your wife. She slowly shook your head and chuckled to herself.
"I think she has a crush on you." you joked.
"Oh no Love, that's all you, she's intimidated by you and definitely wants a piece of you, too bad you're already taken," she said jabbing at your arm.
"Really? there's no way."
"Babe I've seen a lot of people look at you like that, I looked at you like that except I made up my mind that I was going to make you mine."
"Haha very funny."
"Yeah but you know I'm right, that's why you have my last name," she said getting close to you before teasingly turning away.
Not 15 minutes later you were standing outside the OR and Arizona had told you she would meet you there with updates and to scrub in. You heard a knock on the door and wondered who would be asking permission to come in.
“Come in.”
“Mm the mysterious Dr. Sinclair, I heard you’re letting one of us scrub into your surgery.” you looked up greeted by another young female intern.
“Yes, do you have a problem with that?”
“Only if I'm not the one scrubbing in… I wanted to ask you if you had any plans tonight, you're smart and extremely hot, like dirty sexy hot and I um… I would be willing to treat you right to a night of drinks and fun and then maybe help with some stress relief after this case.” She ran her fingertips over your bicep and stepped in closer. What you both didn’t know was Arizona was right outside the door, she slowly entered as you were responding to the intern.
You looked at the intern shocked by how forward she was, a lot of people didn't know about you and Arizona, not that you hid your marriage you just weren't openly showing it in certain settings, but you still wore a ring, even in the OR you wore one, and when in business attire you had a pretty nice diamond on your finger that was hard to miss.
“Okay, first I’m married, to an amazing woman who just so happens to be a world-class surgeon at this hospital for that matter, and If I recall you said you had another case you were working on so I would say that takes precedence, there will always be other cases.”
“I’m sure your wife wouldn’t mind…”
“Oh, I’m sure she would.” Arizona interrupted, walking over to you and crossing her arms behind you.
“She's your...I…um… Dr. Robbins, I didn’t see you there… I, um.”
“I think you were just leaving.” You said coldly, as she watched like a deer in the headlights quickly turning to run out of the room.
“And that is why I love you.”
“Arizona…”
“I know, I know…” you finished scrubbing in and while gowning up she walked over to you.
“I know I probably shouldn’t do this but good luck, and thank you for earlier.” She said and leaned up to kiss you. You could hear the gasps from the gallery as others watched this unfold and finally realized who exactly you were married to Meredith and Bailey both smirked at each other and they now didn't have to keep your little secret. But you didn’t care you were about to save lives with your wife, and there was nothing more that you’d rather be doing.
“Okay people let’s save some lives tonight.”

hii, I love your writing! I was wondering if you could do some fake dating for either Larissa, Miranda or Lucifer and female reader? :D You know the one where for some reason they decide it's good to pretend they're dating, but oh nooo they accidentally fall in love for real? 😱😏
Only Pretending
Hey, anon! Thank you so much for the request! I'm afraid it turned out bigger than I expected, I don't know what you envisioned but this will definitely be a multiple chapter one... Sorry!!!
Word count: 3k
Tumblr media
"That's all for today, guys. I won't give you homework, so enjoy the break and prepare for the quiz when we get back. Remember, the winning team gets a homework-free week!" you waved the excited teenagers out of class. It was the last period of the day and autumn break was officially started. Many wished you good rest and some a fun Halloween, but there were always the ones who bolted right after you said they could.
However, some stayed behind, too entertained gossiping to pay attention at the hour or — which was the apparent case — complaining about their mother coming to get them for "Family Halloween Traditions". Wednesday and Enid were still sitting at their shared desk, Enid trying to convince her roommate that "it" could be fun if she let herself enjoy the festive spirit and Wednesday complaining she would only have fun when Enid arrived.
You thought they were the cutest pair. So different and at the same time sparking out the most unexpectedly similar sides of each other; Wednesday encouraged Enid's feistier side through bickering and teasing and Enid made Wednesday smile begrudgingly with her cuteness.
"I think it'll be less horrendous than it's been before at least," Wednesday conceded, "Some different faces of people I actually don't loathe being around."
"Exactly, honey bun!" Enid chirped, getting up from their class and offering her arm for Wednesday to take, "I'll arrive early to rescue you from your mom and I'm sure Principal Weems will bicker with her enough to make you smile."
Wait, Larissa would visit the Addams? For Halloween? You could swear she barely tolerated Wednesday's mother from what you've heard of their history at Nevermore. Morticia seemed all right to you and according to other teachers and old acquaintances, quite fun to be around, but the poorly concealed disdain that overtook your boss' face every time the woman was mentioned fostered a small uneasiness and dislike to grow on you towards Wednesday's (un)beloved mother.
"Hello, girls!" you approached the pair with the pile of essays you had to grade and everything you needed to not return to class for the entire week in your hands, "Everything all right? Do you have any questions?"
"No, Professor! No worries," Enid hushes to say, and Wednesday got up as well, linking her arm to Enid's, "We were just about to go. Happy Halloween!"
You were about to wish them happy Halloween as well when Wednesday cut in, "Do you have plans for Halloween, professor?"
Curious of her to ask. You liked to think you had a good teacher-student relationship, but the girl rarely seemed to care for pleasantries or chit-chat for that matter.
"Actually, I'll just stay at the academy and rest a bit. I love teaching you guys but if dealing with ordinary teenagers is already taxing, teaching extraordinary ones is a whole other level." It was true, the amount of trouble your last students could get into was only exponentiated when added to the supernatural abilities students at Nevermore possessed. It was also much more entertaining. Yes, you had to keep them safe and punish troublemakers accordingly, but you loved the thrill to discover just what mischief they had got up to again. The best one so far was when a vampire kid turned into a mist to sneak out at night and changed into their solid state while floating atop the lake.
“Mother is hosting a Halloween party. I believe she’ll only pester Principal Weems to go but you are invited,” she said in her trademark monotone. Why you didn’t entirely know.
“I think that would be a matter for your mother to decide, dear. Although I am honoured you’d like my presence, I don’t think I can simply show unexpectedly.”
“The more sane, competent women there the direr it will be for mother, I only figured you could help me avenge the inconvenience of her smothering motherly love.”
Wednesday was quite the interesting girl. You thought it did make sense she’d want some friends around to endure the celebration, and while you understood and quite shared her respect and admiration for the principal, you were touched to find she regarded you similarly.
“If I cross paths with your mother, I’ll be sure to ask her, can we leave it at that?” at the youngling’s curt nod, you saw the pair leave the room and followed behind, closing the door when you left.
You took three or four steps before listening to the click of very well-known heels. Your shoulders sank and you quickly prayed to any god that might be listening for patience.
“Hello, there, beautiful lady!” Razvan, the vampire transformation teacher stalked at you to accompany your steps.
“Good evening, teacher,” your voice was calculatedly calm. You learned your lesson on being nice to overly adorable and excitable kittens as well as their human-like form.
“I was hoping to catch you alone to ask about that coffee date I suggested last week,” he was smiling like a child on Christmas morning, waiting to open their presents, “You said you were too busy planning the homework you’d give the students for the break but now we’re all free.”
It was cute how he seemed to like you, but he just wasn’t your type. When you saw the tiny black cat at the quad a few months back you thought it was only that, a cat, which you petted and played with and fed because its appreciative meows were cute. When it turned out to be the very not-cat, very impressionable vampire transformation teacher, you wanted to smash your head into the nearest flat surface, so what if it was a stone wall?
“You see… I haven’t got around to grading their essays yet, so I’ll be busy these first few days. Maybe later this week? I’ll see if I can make time and get back to you, ok?” it was really difficult to just say no. You weren’t the most proficient at negating people even in normal circumstances; the fact that he was so clearly infatuated with you made saying no seem like kicking a puppy.
“Oh… that’s fine… I guess. What about tomorrow? Right after lunch? You can check your agenda tonight and I’ll look for you for the verdict!” with that he puffed into a bat and flew down the corridor like a drunk butterfly. Was he making little loops? You had to end this and soon, it was too cruel to keep it up and even if it’d hurt him, it was best than leading him on.
Later that day, you and Vlad sat together eating dinner. He was telling you about an interesting countermove a second year made to get a point on their opponent and you were only half-listening and humming when you thought it appropriate.
Larissa was at the other end of the table, rather uncharacteristically talking to no one and wearing a tight face as if her food tasted like lemons and green limes squished together.
“Something on your mind?” Vlad inquired, following your gaze to the headmistress, “Oh, wow, someone’s not looking forward to rest and relaxation.”
“Hm?” you looked at him and noticed he was also studying Larissa’s sour complexion “Ah, yes. She does seems really angry, doesn’t she? If I hadn’t seen it before I would almost say she’s pissed.”
“That is because she is.” He explained, taking a sip of blood before continuing, “Morticia Addams visited earlier, and by what I hear she quite smugly questioned if Larissa would ‘finally’ bring a plus one to the Halloween Ball they host every year.”
Oh, so that was it. You’d seen Morticia’s verbal sparring with the principal before; you attributed it to their past roommate status and the complications that may arise with sharing a bedroom for three years. You had also seen the bickering and teasing on parents’ weekend, the elongated looks in yearly student reviews and all the times Wednesday’s parents had to be called in because their daughter got herself into trouble.
You knew the story of Larissa’s fancy for Gomez when they were young, but you didn’t think Morticia would still be gloating twenty years later that she got the cake.
“And is she?” you asked, looking back at her, something in your chest making you feel cold all of a sudden.
“What?”
“Is she bringing a plus one to the ball?”
Vlad examined you with those piercing dead eyes of his, knowing all too well why you asked, but respecting your wishes not to mention it.
“I don’t know. Haven’t heard anything yet. The closest person she had recently turned out to be a fanatic serial killer who tried to murder her.”
“Laurel, right? The one before me?” you were the second attempt at a normie teacher in Nevermore. You liked to think you were doing well, but few things could be worse than trying to destroy the school and everyone in it, so you couldn’t be always sure.
Vlad only nodded and went back to his drink while you lingered on Larissa’s face, then her hands, barely moving to pick at something on her plate.
The first day of break came as a welcomed cup of hot chocolate on a winter morning. It was chilly outside; some yellowed and orange leaves were stuck on your window with the early humidity. The corridor outside was so silent it felt almost eerie and gut-clenching. But you knew it could only mean one thing: freedom. Freedom from classes and teenager angst, freedom from having to get up and face the world. You could just get back to sleep if you so wished and boy that was quite something.
But you didn’t. In truth, the fact you knew most teachers would do exactly that, spurt you on to get out of bed and enjoy the entire campus at your disposal.
The kitchen was first. You made coffee with just this side of too much cream and stole waffles someone had made and left at the table. Then you went to the library and spent some hours in the lounge, readying cheesy romance and enjoying the sunlight coming through the big arched windows.
It was bliss, although short-lived. From the corner of your eye, you saw a small black cat silently but confidently making its way to you. The man shifted with a practised puff, almost like a magician popping into the stage from a cloud of smoke.
“Good morning, professor. I see you decided to venture around the school instead of having extra hours of beauty sleep. Not that you would need, of course,” he shifted excitedly beside you. You couldn’t mask the regretfulness on your face upon looking at him, and he realized it, mistaking your meaning and quickly adding, “Don’t worry! I’m not here to talk about our date. I said after lunch, and I’ll stand by my word. I just wanted to pop in and say good morning.”
“Oh... No problem Razvan, I’ll have my response by then, and good morning to you too. Have you been enjoying the time off so far?”
He seemed to brighten at your question, and although you were happy you could converse on something else than the blessed date, you were also fretful he would think too much of it.
In the end, he had something to do in Jericho and had to leave just a few minutes later, which you were grateful for. He was perfectly pleasant and even fun to be around but his lovesick eyes made your head pound in second-hand embarrassment.
At lunch, you and Vlad got together again at the gazebo in the woods. He slept through the morning, enjoying having the excuse to shift back onto his nightly routines, but not willing to fully shift or else he’d suffer to go back when classes started again.
“You will not believe what I’ve agreed to yesterday,” he told you in a voice that very much spelt migraine alert.
“Oh, Vladdy, break just started and you’ve already got yourself in trouble?” you teased, biting on your sandwich.
“I’ve got myself in trouble?” he asked, in an undignified tone “I’ll have you know that the person that got me ‘into trouble’ is your beloved Larissa Weems!” he pointed at your chest with an arched brow.
You looked around for anyone that might have heard him, no one was there.
“Hey, Vlad you know you can’t say that! What if someone tells her? I’d be out the door in no time, you know she’s especially strict with me!”
He just tsked and shook his head, “You are such an oblivious young girl, she couldn’t care less about you breaking rules. Besides, fancying your boss is not against any and Larissa’s just looking out for you because the parents pressure her into being careful after what happened.”
You knew Vlad had good intentions telling you this, but he wasn’t called every week, sometimes two times per week, to justify a comment or action some student or staff thought deserved attention.
Of course, she was always patient and never inquired too deeply into every situation but her cold demeanour told you everything you needed to know: she didn’t like you either, she just needed someone to show off when outreach between normies and outcasts was mentioned and you happened to be an overqualified and very capable chemist.
“But anyway, this is about me,” he continued, “and what I’ve agreed to is to pretend to be Larissa’s boyfriend at the Addams' Halloween Party.”
You were sure your jaw was on the floor. How had that happened? You knew Vlad and Larissa were friends for quite some time and very close for that matter, but pretending to date was just... another thing entirely.
“How are you going to do that?” you packed the rest of your sandwich, suddenly not hungry anymore, “Won’t they know you aren’t an item? I mean you know Morticia, and she knows you’re very good friends... To just start dating out of nowhere isn’t a bit suspicious?”
“She just really needs to give it to Morticia,” Vlad shrugs, a sorry half-smile in his mouth, “She asked me to her office yesterday night to drink. She was very upset by Morticia’s appearance and mean suggestion that Riss didn’t have a partner-“
“Of course she wouldn’t,” you interrupted, “She’s too busy being a badass successful woman at the head of a god-blessed academy!”
“Yes, yes, keep it in your pants,” he rolled his eyes fondly at you, “But she was breaking my dead heart and I suggested accompanying her. And first, she said it wouldn’t be the same, because we would go as friends and only confirm it to Morticia that Larissa was still alone. So I proposed we pretend to be a pair,” he seemed equal parts rather proud of himself and loathing his genius idea.
“I think it’s sweet of you. But I don’t think it’s going to work,” you said, not wanting to make him feel even worse, but enable to shake the feeling this was doomed to fail.
“Yes, I think you’re-“
“Professor!” a voice interrupted your friend’s comment and Razvan ran towards you, “I finally found you! I was looking for you to ask when we’re getting that coffee. I trust now you have my answer, correct?”
You were so full of this situation. Full of uncomfortable awkwardness, guilt and shame for playing with your colleague’s feelings, even if your intentions were benign. You had to tell him no, to say you didn’t like him that way. That he was too adorable and nice and you could never see him in that light.
“Oh, yes... about that, Raz...” you started, no idea of what you’d say next, “I’m sorry if I gave you the impression we could be more than colleagues and friends... but I’m-“
“In a relationship,” Vlad supplied.
“What?!” you and Razvan yelled in unison.
“C’mon, darling, it was bound to get out one time or another,” he kept going, the madman, “I know you’re worried about what people may think of her for it, but I swear Larissa is dying to go public.”
His maniac grin at your shell-shocked expression made you want to squeeze his neck until you heard it pop. It wouldn’t do much for him, but it would certainly be satisfying to you.
“Y-you and Principal Weems are together?!” the teacher was turning beet read and you had to give it to Vlad that it was a funny situation at least, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know! And of course, I understand why you wouldn’t want to tell me you were taken, that’s completely not my business... Oh my, I’m so sorry!” and with that he rapidly walked away, just shy of outright running.
“You little shit!” you exclaimed as soon as the other vampire was out of earshot, “What in the absolute heavens were you thinking?”
He was shaking with laughter while you punched his shoulder, which only made him go on a bit more before finally calming enough to talk, “You’re right,” he said, as if it explained everything, “I and Larissa aren’t a believable couple. But you and she are a pair one could easily sell.”
“What are you talking about?” you ran your hand through your face in exasperation. He was out of his mind, and now you were screwed if Razvan said anything to anyone.
“You’re here only a year. Morticia doesn’t know you and Larissa is comfortable enough around you to pretend to be with you. It might be even easier than with me because kissing someone after twenty years of friendship is admittedly awkward,” he reasons.
“Kissing some-? What are you even on about? I can’t pretend to be in love with her, you know I can’t! I’ll just make a fool of myself and let something slip.”
“Nonsense, girl. Let’s go, we need to tell Larissa about the change of plans,” he got up and held out his hand to you “And if she says no, we already told someone, so she’ll have to go with it.”

@idcjustletmescroll : do you have any HCs for how the Resident Evil 8 ladies would react to being saved from near death? I feel like Cass would be pissed tbh she just gives that vibe
I love this. Let’s get into it!
Alcina:
She cries. 100%. She’s just a HUGE crybaby in my opinion.
She can’t believe that you love her so much that you would sacrifice your own safety for her wellbeing.
She’s never had someone who would do such a selfless act because of how much they loved her. It’s a bit overwhelming.
Best believe she would have saved you if the situation had been reversed.
Now, Alcina likes having you close as like an emotional support person. You can calm her more than anyone and you make her feel safe. She likes the idea of not having to be the only one to protect those she loves. You take the burden off.
Donna:
You saved her? Why would you do that? Surely it was a mistake and you didn’t really mean it.
These are the first thoughts that trickle through Donna’s mind after she realizes she is no longer in danger.
Sure, you two have been dating a while and she loves you, but there was no way you could feel the same, right?
You just breathe out a sigh of relief knowing that she’s safe. Donna is so important to you. You don’t know what you’d do without her.
You quickly walk over and give her a kiss.
Donna is shocked, but not mad, about your strong act of affection.
Miranda:
Miranda has never had someone truly put her first before. She’s honestly unsure what to think.
Of course, feeling like someone was looking out for her felt good, but, knowing that it was you specifically who saved her gives the priestess this warm and fuzzy feeling that she can’t identify.
Could it be gratitude? Well, yes, but she’s just really smitten right now… More so than usual. Seeing you jump in to save her was kind of hot.
Miranda gently guides your face to hers and places a kiss on your lips.
She promises to return the favor if it ever comes down to that.
Bela:
Bela is kind of stunned at first. The whole situation has her rattled.
Once she calms down, she bursts into tears and falls in your arms. She is so thankful.
You hold her and gently whisper reassurances and promises in her ear.
Bela’s tears eventually slow down and she takes a deep breath to help steady herself.
She looks up at you with adoration and wraps her arms around your neck before kissing you.
She thanks you and lies her head back down on your chest.
You tell her you would always save her, no matter what. Bela feels so safe and secure in your arms.
Cassandra:
Once Cass has a chance to take in what’s happened… She’s kind of embarrassed that you had to save her.
You come over and give her a hug, but she pushes you away at first.
She pouts and grumbles about how she could have saved herself and you laugh.
Yes, Cass was would always be the type to be too proud to accept help.
Later on, she tells you how thankful she is for what you did. She gives you a kiss and lets herself be wrapped up in your arms.
Cass secretly feels so loved. It makes her realize that you would do anything for her and she likes that idea.
Daniela:
She finds it so romantic. She grabs your face and kisses you repeatedly.
You would say that you could get used to this behavior, but to be fair, Dani is always so affectionate.
Dani has a couple of nightmares about what happened, but you are always there to reassure her and soothe her nerves.
Dani offers you a lot of… Well, appreciation (In bed).
You are just so relieved she is still here with you. You would have been absolutely lost without the fun redhead by your side anymore.
This makes you and Dani’s relationship even stronger and she now knows how much you really love her.

𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐲
(𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)
a/n: Writing comfort fic is sorta my form of self-care. Also I picked Miranda for this one because she is just so babygirl and I was craving for her so bad.
warning/s: none.
Tumblr media
“I’m tired. So, so tired” You walked into the apartment, both feet dragging idly on the floor. You were both exasperated and exhausted from work. A heavy feeling sitting in your chest.
You slumped on the couch, face down. “I need a kiss.” Another groan.
“I need a dozen kisses and a hug. I need a big, fat hug and someone to tell me everything will be okay despite everything crazy that has happened to me today.” It kept going.
You shifted, seeming to get suffocated by the cushion. You were still lying down, stomach under, but you turned sideways so now your cheek was pressed on the couch. You blinked, willing those tears back. It would be nice to have these things without having to ask.
“I just need to breathe while someone holds my hand. Is that too much to ask for?” You felt the tightness in your chest becoming unbearable. Then tears fell freely. It was a tiring day.
Little did you know, your longtime roommate had been home all along, sitting on the stool by the counter and eating their first meal of the day. It was eight-thirty in the evening.
Miranda paused halfway from shoving a spoonful of cinnamon toast crunch drenched in low-fat milk and just stared in space, contemplating these little confessions from her little roommate.
Eventually, she stood up, leaving her half-eaten bowl on the counter. She made it to the living room and saw you, still on the couch, unmoving. She almost presumed you were dead.
“H-hey…” her voice was small, a little shy, but you heard her just fine. You turned to see her, she was in a loose, white shirt and striped shorts. Cute. Long fair legs.
“Sorry. I was rambling like an idiot. Do you want to watch T.V? I’ll move now but this couch is quite nice.” your brows furrowed. “Has it always been this nice?”
“Yes.”
Your eyes squinted, “You always say a few words.”
“I don’t know how to talk to you.” she embarrassingly admitted.
“Well that makes the two of us.”
You chuckled but she didn’t.
“You can hold my hand while you breathe.”
“W-what?”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to–I just. I was in the kitchen and I–nevermind. I’ll go.”
You were quick to wrap your hand around her wrist and tug her back.“Stay.” She looked at you with those big, shiny blue eyes. They were so blue, you thought, for the first time apparently. You hardly ever see the blonde due to your complex schedules, she mostly worked at night and you, by day. You were living on each side of the coin. Hardly ever meeting. Except for this one fateful night.
“Stay here, please.”
“Okay.” She said, after a moment and settled on the floor by the couch.
“What are you doing?”
“Sitting down. I’m big.”
“You’re not. You are tall. Big isn’t cutting it.” You sat up quick, patting the space beside you as you expectantly threw her a look.
“I don’t like my lady sitting on the floor. Now, come sit here, Miranda. Please. Everything here is yours as much as they are mine.”
For the first time, you saw her smile. It was small, just a twitch from both corners but it was a smile nonetheless and again, it was beautiful.
She sat next to you and you were quickly fascinated by the simplest of things about her. Like how she was so bold to offer you to hold her hand.
“Have you eaten anything for dinner?”
“I was having cereal when you came home.”
“That’s not real food. We should order pizza. What do you like?”
“That’s not real food either if the Italians didn’t make it but sure. Anything cheesy for me.”
While you were waiting for the pizza to arrive, Miranda held out her hand, her palm facing up.
“Come on,” she encouraged, “I meant what I said.” Your heart clenched the slightest.
“Breathe with me.”
Your gaze shifted about a couple of times from her eyes to her palm, each time they softened, as more tears gathered in the corners. You took her hand, lacing your fingers together. She had a soft, warm hand. The size had a bonus comfort to it, you noted. She smiled at you and you smiled at her.
You breathed in, long and relaxing before exhaling. You repeated the process again and again until you felt nothing but your gentle heartbeat and the warmth of her hand in yours.
“Thank you.”
“It’s okay. How was work?”
It was an attempt at a normal conversation, but you can tell there was something in her tone that told you she wasn’t sure if she was allowed to ask about it.
She took your long silence for discomfort when in reality you were trying, really trying to piece together the events that happened today in your head in order because some events seemed to be missing as if you skipped that part in your head.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to answer it. Half of the time I don’t know what I did either. I go home and sleep and just forget about everything completely.” She said, giving you an assuring squeeze.
“Believe me it’s okay.” You both let it go, and settled it with smiles on your lips, both soft looking, both understanding.
Later, with the T.V on and empty cardboard pizza box, you had your head nestled on her shoulder. Miranda made an effort to slip a few inches down so you could reach her shoulder. It was an instinct when your head started drifting closer to her arm. She didn’t mind it. She liked the comfort.
Talking with Miranda, you failed to feel the time passing by and eventually it was already time for bed.
“Tomorrow’s gonna be okay. You’re okay.” She whispered.
“Can we…can we do this again? I’ll be home early tomorrow and maybe we can have a nice dinner before you go to work.”
“That sounds good. Definitely good.” She mindlessly kissed your head and pulled you even much closer to her.
“Are you sleepy?”
“Mhmm.” Miranda couldn’t help the smile on her lips again as you threw your arm across her waist, hugging her.
“You should get ready for bed.” her fingers mindlessly ran through your hair, eyes pinned on the T.V.
But then you shuffled, her eyes leaving the screen to look down at you. Seeing you pout like that, she couldn’t help but chuckle, “What’s wrong, love?”
“I don’t want to sleep alone tonight, Andy.” Damn it. Her heart wanted nothing more than to engulf you tight until you were physically trying to fight her for oxygen.
“Would you like me to–” She was about to make the offer but you quickly interfered
“Yes! Yes, yes, yes. Please. If it’s okay then yes, Miranda. I would love that.”
Miranda could have been binge watching her favourite show while eating an unhealthy amount of ice cream in her own bed, or doing something else like swiping left and right on a dating app but then here she was, lying on your bed, and spooning you.
That night, you almost fell instantly asleep, and no, it wasn’t due to exhaustion, it was her soothing warmth that brought you to a dreamless slumber, a perfectly peaceful slumber.

Mark Dating Richard's god Daughter headcanons
Paring: Mark Sloan x Webber!Reader
Summary: headcanons about Mark Sloan dating Richard Webber's God Daughter. -SMUT warning
MasterList ML2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You are Richard and Aele's god Daughter. They adopted you after your parents died in a car crash.
Richard has always been a father to you, but you call him uncle Richard.
You wanted to be a doctor like Richard for as long as you could remember. You worked hard in medical school and soon enough you were in the same intern class as Miranda Bailey.
Bailey is your best friend and has threatened Mark’s life if he hurts you.
Derek thinks it’s funny that Mark started dating you after Webber tried to say it was nothing personal when he hired Mark.
Richard notices how Mark looks at you almost immediately and he absolutely hates it. He thinks Mark is just looking for a one night stand, but that’s not true.
“I want you to stay away from him. There’s a reason the nurses formed a anti-Mark club”
But what your uncle said went in one ear and out the other. Honestly Richard couldn’t blame you. He knew what it was like to be in love with someone you couldn’t have.
Speaking of Love, you didn’t find out about Richard and Ellis till your intern year when Ellis showed up at the hospital with Alzheimer. You and Meredith became close friends through this situation.
You couldn’t really stay mad at Richard since it was a long time ago, but it still hurts that he could do something like that to Adele.
“It's kinda funny in a dark way, the two most important men in your life are both man whores” Bailey said, she was your person and she could say stuff like that to you without getting mad.
You know Richard and Bailey are close, but whenever they have a petty argument you're taking Bailey’s side. Yes, she's smug about that.
Adele gets mad whenever either one of you tatel on Richard. You may get annoyed, but she’ll drive down to the hospital whenever you need something.
You think it's hilarious when Adele yells at Richard like he's a child. She’ll definitely do it to Mark too if she has too. “Out of all the petty, ridiculous, infantile.. Are you running a hospital here or a playground?”
“Adele..” Richard started. “Playground or Hospital, Richard?!” Adele yelled and Mark snickered as Richard mumbled, “Hospital”
“Apologize to our goddaughter right now” Adele scolded, Making Mark hide his laughter in your shoulder. “Sorry” Richard mumbled.
“Not to complain or anything Aunt Adele, but that’s not a real apology” you said with a smirk.
“That is not an apology! You give an apology you mean, because if i have to drag myself down here though rush hour traffic again, to police this damn Jungle Gym..”
“You made your point Adele” Richard sighed. Adele huffed and turned to you. “Love ya aunt Adele”
“Love you too, Dear”
Mark and you both gave Derek crap when Richard and Derek were living together. “Derek is dating your uncle Richard”
“I am no!”
Richard does his best to be nice to Mark, but he wants to protect you from him. Especially when he found out he slept with Addison.
He definitely used his ‘Chiefʼ voice when he threatened him about dating you. “If you hurt her. IF you cheat on her, even the morgue won't be able to identify you. Are we clear!?”
“Yes!.. Yes sir”
Adele loved him when she was still alive. “RIchard you be nice to him he’s part of the family now”
Mark comforted you when Adele started getting Alzheimer. Adele was the closest thing you had to a mother, so it hit you hard when she died.
Mark had gotten close to her as well. Mrs. Shepherd was like a mother to him. Yes, when he started dating you Adele was constantly in his life. She gave him relationship advice and was like the aunt he never got.
Then Catherine showed up. She really didn’t like you or Mark that much. She had a problem with Mark because she thought Jackson was wasting his time in plastics then she just thought Richard ‘babyed’ you too much.
“You mom is banging my Uncle” you said bluntly to Jackson.
“The Chief banged my mom too” Meredith said, thinking it’ll make Jackson feel better.
Richard walking you down the isle on your and Mark's wedding.
NSFW Headcanons:
These are from the original mark HCs I posted a couple of days ago... Sorry. If you want all of them go to the original HC post.
He’s an expert at foreplay. He’ll spend as much time as he can trying to get you hot and bothered or worked up.
He's definitely the dominant person in bed and your not complaining, he'll get rough and pound hard enough were the bed starts rocking.
Mark loves bitting your neck just to hear you moan. When you finally give in to him, he'll lay you down on the couch or bed and start pealing your clothes off to reveal your chest.
The sex maybe rough, but Mark isn't not big on insults. He refuses to degrade you and will only use sweet words.
He has big chocking kink, he won't be too rough about but he loves wrapping his fingers around your neck and feeling your pulse when he's ramming into you.
Loves eating you out, your legs around his head. He loves your legs in general and loves leaving kisses on the insides of your thighs. He'd rather pleasure you for hours than receive.
There's also a tone of jealous sex. If he sees Alex shamelessly flirting with you expected to be tied to bed as fucks your brains out. If he sees Jackson touch you in a way thats reserved only for him you’re pinned against the wall.
This man is amazing when it comes to aftercare. He knows exactly what you need. After your both cleaned up, he'll pull you to his chest to cuddle.

i just found you in the olba tag and i spent the whole night reading All of your stuff and it’s so good! i’m in the mood for some good sad stuff/angst, so i was wondering if you would be up for writing a similar piece you did with cove (where female mc dies because of birth complications but the baby is fine) but for baxter and/or derek? just to round out the roster? i was thinking it would be in a headcanon format over a full piece like the og, just to make it easier for you! ^^
Here you go! You can ask for a Derek one later if you'd like, but here's a full one for Baxter :)
Baxter had never expected to have a family. Even when he was a child, he didn't feel like his parents, always cold and distant and judgmental, fit the definition of what the word was supposed to mean.
He'd be alone, with an occasional night shared with a stranger to keep the loneliness at bay. That's what he'd resigned himself to having.
But then you rocked his world when he spent a summer in a quiet little tourist town in California. You burst into his life, made him feel seen and appreciated. And five years later, even after he'd pushed you away, certain he didn't deserve you, there you came again. Still ready, despite all his flaws, to love him.
Despite his better judgment, he let you.
Days turned into months, months turned into years, and you were still there. When he worked up the nerve to propose, wanting more than anything to make what he had with you forever, you said yes. And when you came to him months later, telling him that you were going to have a baby, he'd wept with joy.
Now, he was curled up in a chair in the baby's nursery, weeping for a much different reason.
He should have known, he thought to himself as he watched your son sleep in his bassinet, letting his tears flow freely. He should have known that the universe wouldn't let him maintain such a high level of contentment for long.
When you had gone into labor, everything was fine. There were some complications, but the doctors had it under control. Until they didn't.
There were a few hours of happiness like Baxter had never known. He laid with you in the hospital bed as you held the baby, you'd talked about everything you would do together, the three of you.
And then you were gone.
The following hours were a blur. Doctors and nurses flooded into the room, he'd snatched up the baby and retreated to a corner, so foolishly certain that it would just take a few moments for them to take care of you and bring you back to him. But they never did.
Instead, they took you away, and he was left alone with this brand new life and no idea what to do with it.
He'd been offered help, of course -- your moms made it known that they were there for him anything he needed them, as did Cliff. Derek, Terry and Miranda had all offered their services as well, whatever he needed, with promises that Cove would want to be involved too, as soon as he was able. It seemed like the grief was destroying him almost as thoroughly as it was destroying Baxter.
But it was difficult, in the depths of his sadness, to turn to other people. He'd been working on it, so hard, with you there, trying to let down his walls and let others in, but now that he was alone again -- besides the child he had to raise -- he'd felt those walls spring back up.
While he was lost in thought, the baby started stirring, then crying. Baxter untangled himself and stood, making his way to the bassinet.
"There there, little one," he said quietly. "Daddy's got you."
He went through the routine -- his diaper was dirty, so he changed it, but he was still crying, so he scooped him up and made his way to the kitchen.
As he was making a bottle, he heard a knock on the door.
He quickly finished his task -- he was a pro at that point -- then went to see who was there, holding the bottle up with his chin as he pulled open the door.
There was Terry, Miranda, Derek and Cove. They weren't quite smiling, but there were some attempts. In there arms were dishes, diapers, and other items tucked away in shopping bags. Baxter looked at them in confusion.
"We're here to help, B-Man," Terry said, giving him a soft punch on the arm.
They moved past him into the house. He still hadn't said anything. He was too surprised. As much as they'd involved him when he and you had gotten serious, they were still your friends. But you were gone, and here they were.
Derek started cleaning up in the kitchen, and Miranda went to do the dishes. Terry started putting away the food they'd brought, but Cove approached Baxter, looking down at the baby.
"I can hold him," he offered. "If you want."
Baxter carefully transferred your son to Cove's arms, and he went to go sit in the living room, continuing his feeding.
Now without anything to do, Baxter joined the others in the kitchen.
"What is this?" he finally asked, watching them all cleaning and straightening up the room.
"I told you," Terry said. "We're here to help."
"Why don't you go take a nap or something?" Derek suggested. "You've got to be exhausted."
He nodded, not quite sure what to say.
"Seriously, we've got this," Miranda said, looking over her shoulder from the sink. "Go."
And so Baxter left them to it, moving to the bedroom he used to share with you. He didn't bother changing into pajamas, instead opting to move to the closet, take out one of your old sweaters and curl up with that instead.
Despite everything, the cruel twist of fate that brought you back only to take you away for good, he'd still managed the impossible. He'd still made a family. And the comfort that thought brought him was enough to lull him to sleep, even if only for a little while.

Skinny Dipping Shenanigans pt1
Gender Neutral | Suggestive | Baxter Ward x MC
Part 1 | Part 2
Tumblr media
(Art by MELLodrawmatic on Twitter)
                                                   🌲 🌲 🌲
You couldn't believe you were going back to the Rocky Mountains. The fancy mountain lodge you'd stayed in 5 years ago coming into view after a worthwhile scenic drive. Fir, pine and aspen trees as far as the eye could see! What was most surprising is that the same neighbor from so long ago was accompanying you, Mr. Baxter Ward. You turned away from the green forest beyond the car window and towards him.
Did he always look so handsome driving? One hand on the steering wheel at 6 o'clock, his right arm resting on the door ledge. A steady gaze on the road ahead he knew by heart. Warm summer light making him glow and an easy tranquil grin. From your thorough observations, you also noticed gray.
Ever since you two had started dating, you couldn't help but notice this small detail that'd made a younger Baxter so restless. Baxter's hair wasn't naturally black, it was more of a gray. He'd started dying it meticulously when he was 14, bothered that it wasn't exactly black. An "imperfection" he couldn't afford others to notice. So, it surprised you that it seemed he hadn't noticed his natural color resurfacing. It was only about an inch of gray, but that was still more than you'd ever seen from the ever careful Baxter Ward.
Or perhaps he had noticed, but he longer saw it as such a flaw. Perhaps, he felt more secure in showing you this vulnerable side of himself? You hoped so, you thought, smiling secretly to yourself.
"See something you like?" Hm, or perhaps it wasn't so secret. Baxter smirked roguishly at your reaction.
You attempted to recover however, "I can't help it, you look so handsome while you drive!" You said honestly and beamed a smile of your own.
Your bluntness had him chuckling. "Well, I wish I could indulge you longer, but I wouldn't know how to explain to the front desk why we were late for check-in."
"It was a matter of great importance!" You joked and reached for your seat belt once Baxter had stopped the car. He shook his head at your antics but had the softest look in his eyes. The two of you retrieved your luggage and made your way to the log hotel.
You may have been here before, but the familiar grandeur still managed to impress you as the hefty door closed behind you. The inviting hearth of the fireplace, the elegant red rug, stone walls and rustic furniture was still the same with only a few refreshing renovations.
The check-in went smoothly. You both settled into your room/s and ordered room service for dinner. The food was so divine you couldn't resist sending Liz a picture. Baxter came out in frame and you asked him to hold out a piece sign. He did. To which she responded, "Look at you living the high life, with your gentleman suitor!" She also sent you a picture of her having dinner with college friends. You smiled and showed your suitor.
The sky had darked significantly by the time you both finished dinner. So, your food comas suggested you head to bed. The drive had tired you out more than you thought, so you could imagine how tuckered Baxter must be. "Good night," Baxter held the back of your head and pressed a kiss to your forehead, "sleep tight." You were sure you would.
The next day, the two of you walked into the small town for a late breakfast. Afterwards, you both explored the shopping area. While looking at trinkets and souvenirs, you got some gifts for Cove, Terry, and Miranda. "Are you getting something for Xavier?" You looked over his shoulder as he compared several pins.
"Perhaps." he settled on a 4 pack of pastel pins with pictures of the rocky mountains "Yes, these will do." Although he was doing something nice for a friend, his tone resembled a villain picking a poison for their nemesis. Oh, Baxter...
Souvenirs in hand the two of you made your way out and stumbled upon a street performer with a sizable crowd. The Great Who Dini was performing a magic show! You held Baxter's hand and excitedly led him to the front of the crowd. You both watched as he shook his hat, but nothing came out. It was empty, or so the audience thought! The Great Who Dini reached in and pulled out a flurry of petals! You marveled as the petals fluttered around you. Baxter chuckled and clapped along with the crowd, "How delightful!"
The magician bowed with a flourish of his purple cape and a twist of his mustache. You were distracted from the show, however, when you felt your lover remove a petal from your head. Tilting his head to the side with a placid smile. A thought came to you, "You know, The Great Who Dini kinda reminds me of you."
"Because I'm mysterious?" He played with a flip of his wrist.
"Nope, because you're both dramatic!" you quipped with finger guns.
He gaped, a slender hand lifting to his heart as if he'd been shot. Alas, all it did was prove your point.
After the performance, you both made your way towards the lodge. Along the way, was a fork in the road with a sign pointing in different directions. One pointed towards the lake. "If you're not too tired, would you like to take a detour? The lake looks wonderful as the sun sets."
You didn't have an objection to that in fact, especially when there was an ice cream vendor along that path! Baxter paid for both of you. It was delightful to see Baxter choose another comical treat, this time he'd picked one that resembled a blue hedgehog.
Baxter sold it short when he said the lake looked wonderful. It was such a marvel you almost dropped your ice cream! Shades of orange, purple and pink reflected off the glittering water. Best of your boyfriend was in the picture, in more ways than one. That's right, it was the perfect picture opportunity!! You put your arm around his shoulder and prompted him towards your camera. You both smiled lightheartedly. Click!
"It's perfect." He said smiling boyishly at the picture. Then you both took a seat on the dock's edge to finish what remained of your frozen desserts. You gently leaned against him and he did the same. It really was perfect. A comfortable silence followed, until Baxter said something that surprised you. "Seeing the water really makes me want to take a dip."
"The elusive Baxter Ward swimming in a body of water?? Unheard of!"
"It's the uncertain depths of the ocean that frightens me, at least here I can see the bottom." Baxter justified amused. He was right, the pebbles glittered beneath the water.
"I'm just teasing, I'd never actually fault you for being afraid of the ocean. I'm actually proud of you for giving it a chance." You added sincerely, giving his side a hug.
Baxter turned towards you, with an easy gaze, "Thank you,. Honestly, I don't think I would've tried it without you."
It was then that you noticed the ice cream on the corner of his lips. Sensibly, you used your thumb to gently swipe it and try the treat yourself. Nom. "Mm, cherry?"
Baxter watched you, eyes wide. A touch of pink on his marshmallow cheeks. Then his confidence kicked back in, "Yes excellent guess, but there's a second flavor. Care to find out what it is?" You look down at the bit of ice cream that remained on the popsicle stick, and surveyed as he swiftly took it into his mouth. Canine easily dragging the cool treat in. Did he mean to drag the popsicle stick out slowly? Absolutely.
You blushed. However, you liked to think of yourself as a bit of a detective and you couldn't leave this mystery unsolved. You leaned closer, "Yeah, I do." He grinned, eyes lidded and met you halfway. Behaving while you trailed your hand along his jaw and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. He leaned into it eagerly. You noticed his cologne as you kissed him. It was floral, you loved it and lightly bit at his bottom lip. He gladly gave you permission to deepen the kiss. Now what could the second flavor be? He tasted tarte, but sweet.
While you put your detective skills to work, the sneaky dark haired man snaked his arms around your waist. He pulled you against his chest securely. You let out a content noise, wrapping one arm on his shoulders and a hand on his nape. This was a tough mystery, who knew how long the investigation would have to go?
You couldn't help tugging playfully at his hair. Baxter started to groan softly and gently pull at your shirt. Ah, you had it! The second flavor was raspberry! You should let him know you figured it out. Suddenly, you felt yourself moving, Baxter was pulling you onto his lap. Letting him guide your body, you confirmed his lap was better than any chair you’ve ever sat on. His dancer legs could never disappoint. You’d let him know you’d figured out the second flavor later.
Pulling back to take a breath, you started trailing kisses along his jawline. Humming happily he tilted his head back for you. Leaving another smooch behind his ear, you were one kiss away from his iconic beauty mark. His hand traveled down to your thigh- when a strange light flashed across your vision. Strange.
"Hey! You crazy kids, didn't ya read the sign??" The two of you parted startled by the sudden voice calling out to you. An old forest ranger stood holding a menacing flashlight. "No shenanigans allowed!!!"
The two of you looked at each other confused, before Baxter asked the ranger "Pardon? Oh...I see" Both of them directed you to a sign a little bit away that indeed read ‘No Shenanigans!’ in bold red paint. You couldn't believe your eyes and let out a snort of air.
"What?? Do you think this is funny?" Asked the ranger aghast. "Do you know how many juveniles come round here, lighting up fireworks, smoochin’, and causin’ havoc?! Begone, it's past open hours anyways!" It was hard to take the old ranger seriously when he was wearing spectacles and trousers many sizes too big, but neither of you could bear to tell him ‘no' either.
Fixing his hair into place, Baxter cooled "Do excuse us, we hadn’t noticed the time. We didn’t mean to cause trouble. Especially at such a well cared for area such as this. You must be very dedicated to keep the place so gorgeous.” He got to his feet and offered you a hand.
Your lover knew how to charm his way around an older crowd. The old ranger stood taller, flattered "That's right, gotta do my job! People be crazy round these parts, skinny dipping and the such."
"Oh don't worry we wouldn't dare do something so audacious." Baxter assured, straightening his button down shirt.
Your head tilted to the side surprised and asked “People skinny dip around here?” your boyfriend fixed your top to its proper place as well.
The ranger answered, "Yes, that's right! You wouldn’t believe the gall of some youths!” one hand pushed his giant spectacles up his round nose.
Baxter picked up your things and took your hand into his, “We'd wouldn't dare make your job harder, keeping the forest safe is no easy task. That said, we should get going, it's almost our curfew." You knew he was joking, but the ranger didn’t catch that. You both waved innocently goodbye at the ranger who cracked a smile and waved back, “Goodnight, y'all get back safe! …maybe those youngins ain't so bad.” He grumbled, and you left the lake, heading back to the lodge.
When you were far enough away Baxter started holding back snickers, fox eyes glittering in the moonlight. You had to ask "Baxter?"
"Darling, we wouldn't dare skinny dip right?" He flashed a wolfish grin at you. Oh you loved it when he was mischievous! You smirked, encouraging him to continue. "And get caught~" He finished.
"Baxter Alexander Ward, you little devil!!" You gawked nudging his shoulder playfully. Both your laughter rang like bells into the night sky. When you settled, just about reaching the lodge you gave him your answer "Well partner in crime, we better start planning our great escapade."
Your dramatic man looked at you, dead impressed! He hadn't actually expected you to want to go skinny dipping. With a swipe of his dark bangs, he leveled you with a look you'd only ever seen in movies when the villain is planning something evil. "Let us start some shenanigans."
To be continued…

THERE IS A FICLET AT THE END OF THIS!
I just checked my inbox. There are 8 Henry prompts.
EIGHT.
I want to tell you a little story about the Henry universe and how I came to write it. The short version is that it was inspired by Mrs. Doubtfire.
When I got the prompt that initially made me write Henry in the first place I was like Oh! It would be so easy to make him unlikeable and have her longing for Mulder. Write a character like Daniel who just wants her to be a stunning and brilliant accessory, but who could never APPRECIATE her.
But for whatever reason I recalled watching Mrs. Doubtfire as both a kid and an adult, and how those experiences differed. I thought, what if Scully got Pierce Brosnan’s character? A really wonderful guy who adores her and is a great dad and isn’t like…idk…gonna disappear to Patagonia for 6 months.
As a kid I wanted Sally Field/Miranda to go back to the Fun Dad. As a woman? Scully, my darling love, let him go.
And that conflict is what makes it fun and challenging to write. If the choice feels obvious then what’s the fun in doing it? But if you have to struggle along with her and decide if you/Scully/Sally Field want stability or adventure, it’s a better journey.
***
It’s two in the morning and Wicket, the impossibly fluffy dog, is whining at a thunderstorm. She strokes his lush head, palms the hot silky flap of an ear.
Her phone rings and she closes her dry eyes.
She answers it without a word.
“You always loved storms,” he says. “I knew you’d be up.”
Wicket mouths her hand gently. The thick of her palm.
“Remember Darin Oswald?” he goes on. “That motherfucker. I still think of him when there’s lightning.”
The silence after is long and lazy and safe, like a July afternoon hammock or miles of Colorado highway.
Thunder booms and Wicket huddles against her.
She last fucked Mulder in a storm like this, on his last birthday, with her husband’s blessing, and it shames her like nothing she’s ever done. Not even William.
What shames her is the rightness of it, the way she so easily said yes, Dana, yes, all the gods of Olympus and Asgard and Tir Na Nog want it for you, lass.
She swallows into the thunder again when she wants to scream. She cants her face to the cold, cold moon.
“Scully?” His voice, his voice; she’d followed it to the grave and past.
Scully opens her eyes. “Yes,” she breathes. “I remember.”
Hears him smile in the dark. “The nineties,” he muses. “What a fucking time.”
“My bangs,” she laughs. “My shoulder pads.”
“My ties.”
Lightning like the primordial earth, like millions of years of volcanoes and oxygen emissions and gorgeous, promiscuous carbon.
Wicket panting.
Her twins - Joan’s twins - safe in the dark. Viv, blonde and beautiful.
Fucking him - no, Dana, be honest - making love - on that sticky couch. Leather-bound books and Mulder’s rich boy wardrobe and the way she’d gotten a better stylist and a better tailor because he was so goddamn beautiful.
Kissing him before 9/11 when you could wait at the airport with balloons, Jesus, kissing him between the millennium and 9/11 in that hot, sweet bubble and -
“Scully?”
The dog keens into the night. Her dog, Henry’s dog, and thunder and thunder and thunder, rolling like the drums of Moria.
She hangs up the phone and weeps her divided love into Wicket’s plush ruff.

Have to admit that I enjoyed the Chicken Run sequel, it was better than I expected. I’m not going to make a full on post as I have to be up in a few hours, but a few things:
Obviously I’m still mad about Aardman/Netflix replacing Julia Sawalha, and given that I grew up with the original film the change is just so jarring - especially since they used archive footage/recordings of her voice in the first film for flashbacks, which makes it even weirder for me personally.
I’m not going to complain about Mel Gibson being replaced as Rocky given the circumstances tbh
I LOVE the Paloma Faith song used, it’s a great song, but when I first heard it in the opening scenes of the film I was like “…???”, like it just sounded so… modern and pop-y compared to the first film? It’s a fantastic song, don’t get me wrong, but compared to the first film, where you had a rather old fashioned sounding song played during the film (Flip Flop Fly), it made this film seem more American than British, if that makes sense (which kind of irks me because one of the most charming parts of the original for me is how British it is)
Following on from my point above, whole film in general seemed like it was more modern and more set in present day, which in some ways is to be expected because there’s a 23 year gap between movies, but on the other, the original film felt almost timeless, like it could have been set in any decade. As far as I remember, the original didn’t have any televisions, it had a sort of old fashioned radio and while, yes, there was electricity (the pie machine, Christmas lights etc), it felt like it could have been set in an older year than 2000. Maybe that’s just me, I don’t know, but this film really went twenty times more modern and gadget-y
You know how in the first film, Mrs Tweedy picks out a chicken who hasn’t been laying any eggs, then we see the shadow of her beheading the chicken followed by what is clearly a roast chicken skeleton on the Tweedys’ dinner table? I thought it couldn’t get more fucked from that, but Aardman wanted to prove me wrong because what the fUCK
Have to say that the first film strangely never actually made me want to stop eating chicken, meanwhile this film made me feel sick at the thought of a chicken nugget 😭 it might take a while before I can eat chicken again 😔
Hopefully the chickens I eat are NOT mind controlled on a high tech farm to walk to their deaths
Miranda Richardson back as Melisha Tweedy, SLAAAAAAY 💅🏻
I can’t decide what’s funnier, her introducing herself as “Melisha Tweedy” despite getting remarried or her calling Dr Fry “my current husband”
ALSO DOCTOR FRY IS VOICED BY NATE THE GREAT FROM TED LASSO?!? 😭
I don’t believe Mrs Tweedy is dead to be honest, if being inside the pie machine when it exploded (after falling into it from a great height), flattened by a barn wall/door, and going headfirst into the chicken nugget machine and smothered in breadcrumbs couldn’t kill her than I doubt that the killer robot ducks that shoot lasers will do the job, especially given that they didn’t kill Rocky, a rooster 💀
Calling it now there’ll be a third film and she’ll be back, I’m calling it right now!!!
I SAW FEATHER MCGRAW FROM THE WRONG TROUSERS AT THE END LMAO FEATHERS YOU LIL SKANK THIS AINT YOUR MOVIE 🐧
Anyway, I thought it was better than expected - the first one will always be the best of course, but as far as sequels go, this one was definitely on the better end of the scale!

NSFW Questions About Gwen's Big Five - Part Eight
Questions are taken from this. The original poster deactivated their account, so it's the reblog that is linked. All the questions are modified and some are removed (either because the question had already been answered or because it referred to hetero relations.)
NSFW Questions About Gwen's Big Five Masterlist
Finally, the long overdue last part in this installation until mine and daydream’s next venture. Thank you for coming on this smexy journey will us! It has been, as always, a team effort between @daydream-cement and I. With the occasional assistance from my love, @na-shoba. Until next time!

Are they into any BDSM?
Brienne: No.
Larissa: Light bondage.
Lucifer: They are into lots of things and BDSM is one. All you need to do is ask and they will participate happily.
Phasma: …Yeah.
Miranda: Some bondage. She would even do handcuffs too. Not much more.
Have they ever wanted to have sex with someone but knew they couldn't for any reason? Why?
Brienne: No.
Larissa: Yes. Morticia after she was with Gomez, but she was taken so she wouldn’t have an affair.
Lucifer: There aren’t many out of Lucifer’s reach.
Phasma: No, she gets what she wants.
Miranda: For the most part, she wants to have sex with obtainable people (besides the fictional characters and the celebrities that play them)
Do they like dirty talk?
Brienne: She’s not very good at it, but she tries her best and she enjoys being talked dirty to in some capacity.
Larissa: Absolutely! She loves her dirty talk to be banter that encourages whoever is dominating her to be rougher.
Lucifer: Yes they do! They love to whisper filthy things and have filthy words spoken back.
Phasma: Phasma is always spewing the most vulgar, godless, sinful, crass, filthy, depraved, perverted, crude, dirty talk known to mankind.
Miranda: YES! She likes talking dirty and receiving dirty talk.
Are they loud or quiet during sex?
Brienne: She can be both but she prefers staying silent for a few different reasons.
Larissa: She starts out quiet and it slowly builds, getting louder and louder.
Lucifer: Depends on the situation.
Phasma: Both. Depends on where she is.
Miranda: Loud. She is rarely quiet.
Have they ever been interrupted during sex or masturbation? By who/what?
Brienne: It could possibly happen, but hasn’t happened yet.
Larissa: That one time in the locker room in high school when she and Morticia were caught by François.
Lucifer: Interruption should only be under dire circumstances.
Phasma: No one would dare interrupt.
Miranda: When the visiting detective fucked her in the storage room, she didn’t get to return the favor when someone came searching for the detective.
What kind of porn do they like to watch?
Brienne: Her partner’s porn.
Larissa: Lesbian porn, made by lesbians for lesbians.
Lucifer: Not a huge fan of porn.
Phasma: Lesbian porn, obviously made by lesbians for lesbians. Not for the male gaze.
Miranda: Amateur lesbian porn with plenty of cunnilingus.
Have they ever confessed to someone that they made them horny and they masturbated to the thought of them?
Brienne: No. Maybe when she and her partner have been together long enough that nothing can embarrass her anymore.
Larissa: She admitted it to Morticia once.
Lucifer: They don’t masturbate often, but they do share their impure thoughts with their partner.
Phasma: In hints.
Miranda: When she and her partner get close enough to share that information.
Have they ever masturbated because their sexual partner wasn’t there when they needed them?
Brienne: No.
Larissa: Yes.
Lucifer: No.
Phasma: Yes.
Miranda: Yes.
Have they ever had a one-night stand? Do they still keep in contact with them?
Brienne: She has not had a one-night stand, but if she did, she would feel bad if she just ignored them so she keeps in touch, bless her heart.
Larissa: Yes, and no she didn’t keep in contact.
Lucifer: Yes, and no.
Phasma: Yes. Many. Not really, she contacts them when she wants a quick lay.
Miranda: Yes, and yes.
Have they ever had friends with benefits? Are they still beneficial?
Brienne: No.
Larissa: Yes, especially when she started as headmistress. It was easier than having a full-on relationship.
Lucifer: Absolutely.
Phasma: Friends? It's more of a acquaintances/people-with-benefits kind of thing. And they are all very beneficial.
Miranda: Yes, she has, but no they are not friends any longer.

ello!!!! may I request some sort of coffee shop au with Miranda and female reader? Either we work there and she's the customer who always brightens our day, or we just continue to run into (not necessarily literally, but also what is some spilled coffee if we get Miranda in exchange?) each other all the time? It's really up to you, I'm just asking for some cozy coffee romance :) <3 tysmmm!
Coffee, tea, or could I offer you me?
Working at a coffee shop wasn’t nearly as quaint and romantic as the books you’d read while growing up described. However, instead of accepting the dull reality and focusing on working to pay for college, you decided to make a difference, and be the cupid of the establishment. If you couldn’t live your coffee shop romance, you would help other people do so. That was before you witnessed the most beautiful girl you’d ever seen get stood up by her date.
Word count: 7.1k (oops)
Tumblr media
As the cupid of the Rainbow Roast Café, your life mission was to provide ordinary people with the ristretto-like love experience of their life. Or at least give clients a funny story to tell their grandchildren one day.
Your co-worker Maggy had even a bet going on that you would pair off at least one more duo or group of individuals until the end of the month, to which Dave — your other co-worker — betted against, saying you had already struck twice this month and it was virtually impossible for you to get another success in just ten days.
You didn’t see it as a competition though. It was the closest you thought you could get to experiencing a coffee shop romance. Patrons who flirted with you often acted like creeps and it was very rare for one of them to be a woman. So, you decided that giving other people the chance at a nice and soft meet cute and possible love story was your best shot.
At first, you thought it would be a horrible breach of boundaries to tell a client that you saw someone eyeing them from the other side of the café, so you kept your cool and inwardly itched watching people nurturing crushes and not telling the other person about it. Until the day of your breaking point.
There was this girl that always came at eight-twenty and ordered a white chocolate mocha. She had a favourite table by the windows to the side and near the back, and she sat there every day without fail to people-watch and write in a journal-like notebook. That was until a month in on your job, another person arrived at eight and ordered a simple iced and bee-lined to the very table.
When the girl got her order that morning, she was stuck for a bit, watching the intruder of her sacred spot. You thought she felt pestered at having to choose another seat, but over the next few days it kept happening, and the looks she shot at the brooding figure at her table started to appear more like pining than cursing.
You, being nosy and lacking several social filters, approached her on a slow day with the biggest double chocolate chip cookie you could find and tried to strike up a conversation. She turned out to be just as nice as you thought she was, and two days later you finally asked if she liked the mysterious customer at her former table. She timidly admitted to having a crush and asked you to keep quiet about it. The next day you wrote into their cup about the cute girl in a cardigan and how she thought they looked cool.
Lysa and Rae are still customers, but they sit at the same table for four months now.
The following ones were easier. You would write in a piece that customer x told you they liked customer y and see where things went. You always befriended the customer first and then offered to help, and when they said yes you felt over-the-roof-happy. You were always social, but you never thought you’d have such an enormous amount of friends, all of whom were dating while you were still painfully single. It was nice though.
Everything was going great that particular day at the café. Andre had paid a visit to get Mina her usual smoked latte before class and invited you to a movie night at the weekend in her dorm. You had bonded with Mina through your shared guilty pleasure of watching cheesy love triangle dramas when you were sad, and her taste in movies was as close to yours as that of a soul buddy. You wished you had attended uni with them, it would have been so much fun.
But, however good the day was, there was still time for that to change. An hour before the end of your shift, a stupefying figure entered the coffee shop. A woman, so tall she could reach the 8’3 door head if she raised her hand, walked in and settled at one of the front window seats. Judging by her slightly nervous aura, you assumed she was waiting for a date.
There wasn’t much movement that time in the afternoon. Most people were working and the few customers around already had their orders, so you decided to go ask the recent arrival if she wanted something while she waited.
Getting closer, you noticed her whitish-blond hair looked very soft, as did her milky skin and overall presence. If it wasn’t for her height, you could say she would look very plain or unremarkable. A white woman, with blond hair and average proportions. That was before you rounded a table and saw her closer from the front. She had a very remarkable face. It was a combination of gentle eyebrows, high cheekbones and a sharp jawline that somehow managed to not be threatening but disarmingly inviting.
“Excuse me,” you cleared your throat, hoping you didn’t sound as breathless as you felt, “Would you like to order?”
When she looked up from her phone, bright pools of arctic blue glued you to where you stood. If you walked, you were quite sure your legs would give out. She was nothing but exquisite, and suddenly you wished she was waiting for you, and that just this once you were the protagonist of the story.
“I’m sorry?” she prompted, and her voice, for everything that is good in the world, her voice sent chills through your skin even though it was an unusually hot autumn day.
“I just asked if you would like to order something.” You took out your notepad for something to look at other than the gorgeous stranger. “I can bring you something while you wait for…” it was quite shameless, but of course, you were fishing for information, “whatever you are waiting for,” you hoped she wouldn’t feel offended by your less-than-professional approach.
“I’m just waiting for a friend.” She gave you a small, timid smile, and gazed at the table, confirming she very much wasn’t waiting for a friend. “He won’t take long, so I’ll order when he arrives.”
You only nodded, instantaneously slaughtered of all hope and happiness at the kind dismissal. You returned to your place behind the counter and started cleaning already clean coffee machines and the spotless counter.
She was waiting for a he. Of course, that didn’t mean she was straight, and she was so beautiful you’d feel personally attacked if she was. Maggy noticed your state and tsked from the kitchen door.
“What is it? Someone didn’t want to chat?” you usually felt disappointed when some people gave you hints they wanted to be left alone. You wouldn’t annoy a customer for the life of you, but it did make you pout.
When she approached the counter to look at you, however, her eyebrow arched, and a smug smirk twisted her face.
“Ooh, am I seeing a rejected puppy?” her pretentious tone made your lips twitch. She was teasing you, but you wouldn't give her the satisfaction of making you laugh.
"Not rejected. You know I don't flirt with clients, it's creepy enough when they do it to me."
"Oh, so what would you call it then? Friendly banter?" you snorted ungracefully. It was true you were comfortable with teasing, flirting and sometimes even catcalling your friends. What could you say? You loved embarrassing and complimenting them, it was just the perfect means.
"Yes, friendly banter. Not everyone is smoking hot like you to be able to flirt and be taken seriously, you know," you arched an eyebrow and she threw a napkin at you.
"You're impossible!" she kissed you on the cheek before returning to the kitchen for more goods.
Half an hour had passed and the woman's date still hadn't arrived. You pondered going back there and offering something again, but you imagined she'd feel uncomfortable with you noticing she was possibly being stood up. Your bones hurt with the want to go strike up a conversation and distract her from the douchebag that was making her wait, but at the same time, your heart raced in panic at the thought of talking to her.
It was some time since you'd had a crush on a person. Even being a hopeless romantic, you didn't have many opportunities to find anyone attractive in your day-to-day life. You lived close to the campus, so taking the subway to work wasn't necessary. You spent your day at the coffee shop and it always felt like breaching an unspoken rule to fancy a client (even though you admitted some were very aesthetically pleasing), and all your friends were spoken for and their friends were usually on college so a few years younger and that didn't do it for you. So it was very curious to finally feel it again, and for a client to make matters worse.
"Ok, stop ogling her, you'll bore a hole on her neck like this" Maggy mused, bringing the rest of the pastries.
You let out a defeated breath. "You're right, I have work to do and no time for this kind of thing."
"Woah there, you seem to have thought a lot of things in the five minutes it took me to get back, huh?"
You did, and she might not have the knowledge of what went on in your head, but you knew she understood your conclusion. How did she come to know you so well was beyond you, but you guessed five months of friendship and almost uninterrupted proximity did that.
"You know it's not for me." You shrugged and noting she was about to object you excused yourself saying you'd get more excelsa beans.
When your shift was close to end, the woman was still there. She wasn't waiting anymore, you noticed. She was idly taking notes on a small pad and listening to music. She didn't look too affected by the guy not showing up. Maybe she suspected it would happen, or it wasn't the first time, you didn't know but her nonchalance about it made your chest tighten.
Before you could change your mind, you chose one of the biggest triple chocolate ganache palm-sized cookies from the display case and prepared an iced vanilla latte to go. You put the two in a paper tray and fake-power-walked to her, willing yourself to feel the smallest amount of confidence. You were the chatty one of the group, why was it so difficult to act normal with her too?
"Hey, hello..." great start, "Ahem, my shift is almost ending and since I couldn't help you earlier with your order I thought I would bring this to you." You smiled and were almost sure you did ok.
Until she looked up from her notepad with shimmery eyes, and your smile fell. She had not been so nonchalant then.
"Oh, I'm sorry, do I have to order to stay here?" she seemed confused while looking between you and the tray you placed in front of her.
"No! No, I just thought you'd like something sweet," you were nervous like you haven't been for a long time, "I don't know... you just seemed like the type..."
"That likes sweets?" her small voice made sent shivers through your arms, she sounded so fragile, looking at your offer with something akin to wonder.
"Yes. Sorry. When you work here for a while you pick up on these things. If you don't though, I can take it back-"
"No!" she interrupted you, briskly circling a hand to your pulse when you made it to take the tray away and looked at you with a bewildered expression. "Sorry! I do like sweets." She let you go as rapidly as she touched you, chest flaring red, she avoided your eyes and cleared her throat. "Thank you, it is very nice of you," with that, she smiled, almost beamed, and you could only nod and get the hell away from her as fast as you could.
While desperately changing into your own clothes, you jumped at the sound of Dave entering the locker room.
"Shit, sorry!" he exclaimed, looking at you from head to toe. He was a quieter friend, but very perceptive, "So Maggy wasn't joking," he smiled.
"Please, not you too."
He laughed, "I won't tease you for being human. Everyone has a crush from time to time."
"Shut up! I don't have a crush." You finished tying your shoe. "And even if I do, she's probably straight or has a boyfriend."
"So you thought about it."
"SHUT UP!" you couldn't help but laugh and as you closed the back door to the alley you heard him laughing too.
You didn't pay too much mind to your thoughts of the beautiful stranger in the following days. She would likely never go back to the shop and if she did it would take a while and your attraction would have died down.
When she came not three days after, you cursed and ran to the kitchen.
"What are you doing, we need you outside," Maggy furrowed her brow softly.
"Could you please go there for a few minutes? I can finish icing," you pleaded, already taking the bag from her hand; she gave you a strange look but said fine.
Not a moment after she entered the kitchen again with a pleased smile. "Y/n you insufferably adorable idiot, go back out there and serve your customer!" she pointed at the door, and you made a show of slumping your shoulders and pouting while you made your way out front.
The woman was at the counter, she had a light frown, as if a bit confused with something, and startled when you said, "Good morning, how may I serve you?" in your best impression of a customer-service-friendly tone.
"Oh! Hi," she beamed at you, "Nice seeing you again!" Fuck she was gorgeous, "I would like the drink you gave me the other time, I really liked it."
You didn't know if the swell of pride in your ribcage was for being such a kick-ass barista or because of the happiness on her face from your accurate assumption.
"Coming right up!" you started making her drink, pleased with yourself, "Will you want anything to eat, as well?"
"No, if I do my co-workers will want it too," she chuckled and you got a to-go cup. When you handed it to her, she looked puzzled. "How did you know...?"
"The time," you filled in when she didn't elaborate, "Lots of people come before work and the ones that stay are usually students."
She hummed, eyebrows going up with a soft smile, "What about elders?" she handed you payment, exact change with an extra A$2,00 coin. Hot and a good tipper? This woman has no shame.
"We have only one couple and they come a bit later in the day," you smiled, accepting the money.
"Well, thank you then," she awkwardly lifted the cup and gave you one last, sheepish smile, before leaving.
You were so very screwed.
She kept coming. Day after day, she came in at the same hour and asked for the same drink. You offered some variations a few times, but she always went back to the first you made her. You stopped pretending you weren't smug for getting it so right.
Today was raining softly, autumn was settling in finally and cold afternoons were now a guarantee rather than a wish. You heard the doorbell and looked up to see Mina skipping to the counter with a scarf-hidden smile. Her nose was rosy as well as her cheeks which turned her eyes into thin joyful lines.
"Hey, lover! I missed you this weekend." She fake-pouted and you began making her usual.
"Sorry, I worked Dave's shift on Saturday and forgot to let you know."
"It's fine, but only if you go to the next one. If you don't, I'll stop being your friend!" she joked, sitting on one of the stools to watch you make her drink.
"Ok, dear 8-year-old cousin," she laughed and you changed topics to what movies they watched and how you regretted losing Toni's shock-filled eyes at New Moon's 'hot vampire royalty' as Mina said he put it. For someone who said they hated Twilight, you were happy for their growth.
After some more gossip, Mina grabbed her coffee and fled to class with a kiss on your cheek.
It was past mid-afternoon; your shift was slowly nearing its end and you were grateful for bringing an umbrella. It would probably be still raining when you got out.
When she walked through the door half an hour later, though, you wished you had more time. Her hair was a bit damp, and she had a sports jacket on. Maybe she left work around that hour because it was close to the one, she came to the shop the first time.
Try not to be a stalker, you weirdo, you thought to yourself while she approached.
"Hello there," she had her usual easy smile on. So beautiful.
"Hey, what will it be?" you could almost act normal now, the result of prolonged exposure, you assumed.
"You know," she shrugged, leaning on the counter lazily.
You started preparing her drink with a small smile and Maggy shook her head at you, rolling her eyes dramatically before leaving for the kitchen. She had nothing to do in there anymore.
"Tough day at work?"
"Oh, the usual. Paperwork mostly, it's been a while since there's been any excitement." She shrugged, but soon fixed her posture and shook her head frowning. "Not that I want anything to happen. If paperwork is the price, it's fine by me."
Curious comment. You didn't know what she did, you realized you didn't even know her name. You fantasized about leaning over the counter and kissing her silly but could not say who she was. How could it be that through an entire week, you hadn't even caught her name; usually it took you one conversation and the next you would set her up with someone from the shop. Of course, you weren't inclined to do that with her particularly, because of reasons.... but it was rather odd.
"Sorry, I don't think I ever asked your name," you turned to place her order on the counter, not on a to-go cup this time.
"Oh my god, that's true! I only know yours from your tag, it never crossed my mind I didn't have mine on!"
So her work requires wearing tags... Fuck, I'm a creep.
"I'm Miranda." She extended her hand for you to shake, it was just as soft as it looked. You imagined what being caressed by it would feel like... or a massage... or other things.
Shaking your head, you leaned to kiss her hand, rather than shake it. Out of your control, really. You simply could not lose the opportunity.
She looked to the floor, biting her smile. You could not see the red in her chest this time, but her ears were blazing.
"I'll just-" she took the cup, looking at you and rapidly away again, "Thank you. I'll go sit now." You only nodded, amused and slightly euphoric but trying to keep it down, as you saw her go.
She sat on one of the front window tables, leaning on her elbow and pointedly looking at the rain.
Two days passed after that. It was almost the end of the month, and you didn't even find another potential couple to help. You were too busy daydreaming on the job to pay attention to the customers. Maggy would lose her bet, the poor baby.
It was the middle of your shift, so it took you by surprise when you saw the blond owner of your thoughts walking in.
“Hey!” Miranda approached the counter, her smile making quick work of warming your whole being. She was the best part of your day no matter what happened. You thought seeing her smile at you was worth more than winning the lottery. You could live without the money any day.
“Hello, there,” you smiled back, with your usual cheekiness. “Your usual, I presume?” You were almost beginning her latte when she interrupted you.
“No! No, today I’ll be having a cold brew and an espresso. Robin needs her caffeine.” At that, she pointed at a brunette walking slowly in. She looked waspish and you could easily believe she was one of those people who were very grumpy before their first cup of coffee. “I’m her partner,” she leant over the counter and whispered to you like it was an exciting secret. She looked so proud you felt nauseous.
So she had a partner; a week after being stood up. It was understandable, she was a smoke show, funny and adorable all at once. How could she not have a mile-long line of people waiting for a chance? It still disappointed you that you weren’t the choice.
“Do you want me to grind?” you asked, absentmindedly leaning down to search for the good beans. At the silence, you turned to see her. She was turning red very fast, then you realised what you said and almost dropped the bean’s package on the floor, “The beans! Do you want me to grind the beans? You know… so the shots are nice and fresh.” Jesus, good one.
“Yes…” she gazed at the floor for a second and shook her head before looking back at you. “Sorry, I was just distracted… by stuff…" she pressed her lips in a thin line and looked in any other direction than yours. “I’ll just- I’ll just sit there.”
And off she was.
“Could you be less of a flirt? Not everyone can pull girls like a magnet and it’s offensive,” your co-worker’s voice woke you from your trance. Maggy was coming with a tray of fresh cakes.
“Shut up… it was her.” You tried to recompose yourself, your week’s worth of daydreams turning sour as you saw her walk to the back table where her “partner” was. Miranda liked the front window, why did that woman seat in the only corner with no view of the street and the farthest possible from the door?
“Ooh, so you’re finally admitting it.” She began to arrange the sweets in flower-like patterns on the display case, still smiling to herself.
“You only listened to my screw-up. She has a girlfriend,” you didn’t mean to sound so snippy, but you felt angry tears forming in your eyes and couldn’t stop tapping your left foot faster and faster.
Maggy noticed it in your tense posture and tight face, and before you knew it she was shoving you into the kitchen and asking Dave to cover outside.
Incredible. Just magnificent. She had a girlfriend, because of course she did, and you foolishly invested time and hope planning to ask her out and imagining all the stupid little dates you wanted to take her to and all the stupid little things you would do to make her smile. Great.
“Hey, come here…” Mag’s voice was no more than a whisper, bringing you to her chest while you very pointedly didn’t cry.
Your chest was rising and falling erratically with your half-swallowed sobs and your face hurt from all the muscles you strained to keep from letting it all out.
Maggy knew you wouldn’t cry. You were too stubborn for that, too chagrined with yourself to allow release. After less than a minute, you pushed yourself out of her arms, face sullen and voice hoarse.
“They ordered a cold brew and an expresso. I feel suddenly sick, can I go home?” you didn’t feel sick, she knew it too, but she only said:
“Yeah… yeah, I’ll cover for you.”
You nodded, never meeting her eyes, perpetually looking at the ground as you walked to the staff changing rooms and then home.
While walking home that afternoon, you caught the rain. You’d seen the weather report, but you left in such a hurry that you forgot your umbrella and didn't feel like going back to get it.
You got actually sick. The next morning you woke up sweating, feeling every muscle in your body hurting. It was nine, so you were already late. You called your boss to tell him you had a fever and he said Mag had already told him you didn’t feel very well the day before. He gave you the weekend off and ended with a kind “get better soon”; he was a nice boss.
You spent said weekend in bed. When you felt less horrible you took a shower and changed the sheets, prepared some soup and ate on the sofa while watching the news.
Apparently, there was a gang targeting young girls from the university near the Rainbow. All the police could tell at the moment was that they were being abducted after hours when leaving the campus for a night out. What they did to them after was a mystery you felt like throwing up just thinking about. You texted Mina to know if the group was safe; they were, but also very scared.
“The police detective in charge of the case, Robin Griffin, couldn’t disclose any more information,” the anchor’s voice sounded while a picture of a sulking brunette appeared on your screen.
It was her: Miranda’s partner. A police detective of all things.
Of course, Miranda would date some mysterious, grumpy detective that fought for the innocent and had a secret soft side she never showed anyone except for Miranda. It was the perfect ray of sunshine/rainy cloud couple half of the young adult fantasies had.
You wondered what Miranda did for work. You shouldn't be thinking about her, but you couldn't help it. All you knew was that she used a tag, and that didn't reduce your options all that much. You had to get her out of your brain.
After finishing eating and taking another shower, you went to bed early to get some healthy twelve hours of sleep before returning to work. With any luck, Miranda wouldn't come so soon.
You weren't very lucky, as proven by the relationship status of the person you madly wanted.
Miranda came again the next morning, accompanied by her detective girlfriend, Robin Griffin.
"Morning!" she was cherry as all the other times she greeted you but now it caused you physical pain to see her smile and attribute her happiness to the sulking jackass at the back booth.
Maybe you were being too harsh if Miranda was dating the woman she had probably a reason but you chose to ignore it as an outlet for all your negative thoughts and feelings.
"Good morning, how may I serve you today?" you said in a practised monotone, customer smile on your face.
A little line formed between her eyebrows and your fingers itched to smooth it away.
"Hum, I'll accept a suggestion today." she observed herself drum her fingers on the counter, "And Robin wants a cold brew again."
You nodded, starting with a white chocolate mocha and ignoring the figure leaning her weight on the counter.
"You can grind-" you heard her start and stop for a few seconds, "the beans for Robin's, she never commented on coffee before but last time you made it she said it was really good."
"Last time I made it?" you cursed your curiosity, "Someone else made you two coffee?"
Technically, the only time you made coffee for them you only started the grinder and fled, so Maggy was the one to finish it.
"Yeah... we came on Saturday to straighten some things. I like the atmosphere here and Robin didn't mind coming again."
Straighten some things? Were they having fights? None of your business in any case but... were they? You only hummed in response.
You placed her drink on the counter and started the second. Noticing you wouldn't start talking again, Miranda cleared her throat and looked to the side. Why couldn't she look you in the face today? It was normal for her to blush and avert her eyes sometimes when you talked but she seemed incapable of keeping eye contact for five seconds today.
"I like your shirt," she commented, out of nowhere.
"It's my uniform? But thanks?" what in the seven hells?
You finished the second drink and thanked whoever listening for her silent departure. Her awkward nod still made your chest constrict though.
This time there was no Maggy to witness your suffering, instead, it was Dave who was bringing the new arrivals and decided to lean against the door and watch.
"Shut up," you breathed as soon as you saw his smirk.
"I didn't say anything."
"But you were thinking."
"Oh, come on, she was obviously flirting with you!" you hated that you agreed with him, it felt like flirting — hesitant and weird but flirting.
"Her girlfriend is sitting right there, she was not flirting with me just five meters away from her," if you said it out loud one more time maybe you could convince yourself.
"Well, or she's very clueless, or devilishly smart." He shrugged and started putting away some gourmet-looking packages underneath the counter.
Later that day you were still thinking of Miranda's strange behaviour. Dave wasn't one for gossip, but this time he opted to completely ignore that and conspire with Maggy about what were Miranda's intentions with you, quite loudly, just a few feet away. They were insufferable sometimes.
After a few hours of little giggles and middle school singsongs, you mistrusted the sudden silence. Dave, oddly enough, was cleaning the expresso machine serenely while Mag was nowhere to be seen.
"Where did Maggy go?" you asked, walking to the kitchen door and peering through the circle window. She was on her back having a phone call.
"Her boyfriend called, don't know what's about but she looked strange when she came in."
A few moments after, Maggy slowly opened the door and peeked from it, "Y/n, can I talk to you for a sec?" she asked, an uncertain tinge in her voice.
"Sure..." you followed her in.
Once inside, you heard her let out a long breath, "Ok, so I know I only covered for you days ago and that it sounds opportunistic as shit, but could you cover the end shift for me? Markus had an accident playing basketball and needs me to get him at the hospital" her tortured face was the cherry on top of your hellish day.
"Of course, I'll cover for you! What happened?"
"He fractured his ankle, that's why I need to get him; he probably won't be able to walk around the house very well too."
"You're fine, go get him. I don't have anything better to do anyway, bug." You kissed her cheek and rushed her into the staff rooms.
Closing wasn't so bad. Today was raining again but you had your umbrella and wouldn't forget it this time. After swiping the floor and checking the kitchen for stoves on and the like, you closed everything and went home.
Every day it got darker and darker around this time. You didn't notice before because you usually were at home, but now you wished you had charged your phone for some extra light. The rain was thick, and you couldn't even hear your steps. The umbrella didn't do much to shield your legs, which were drenched up to the knees.
After a few blocks, the streetlights got dimmer, the shops and public spaces being substituted by tall apartment buildings. You decided to hurry a bit and ignore the shiver on the back of your neck; soon you would reach home.
Well, not really. You felt before you saw the group of four people nearing you. When you thought of sprinting, one of them caught up to you and held you back with strong arms around your middle and one hand covering your mouth. You trashed, trying to free yourself, but they only shushed you sounding amused. The other three joined and they led you to one of the corridors between brick buildings. You couldn't see a thing, only feel rough fingers in your face and the prickly feeling of days-old facial hair on your ear as a hoarse voice breathed on your ear.
"Be a good girl and stay quiet. It'll be a lot less painful for you."
You felt overwhelmed by panic, gagging in bile and trembling like a baby dear. You didn't know where the strength came from, but you freed your face desperately and screamed your lungs out for help. You didn't know if anyone would listen with the rain, you could barely hear yourself, but it could have something to do with the buzzing on your ears muffling all sound around you.
You stepped on his feet, kicked him and bit his arm but he wouldn't budge. He managed to put his hand over your mouth again, but you bit it until you heard him scream and tasted iron in your mouth. However, that only made him hold you tighter, hurting your ribcage, and the rest of the group came to aid him.
What they did was each try to get you under control, which meant none had a full grip on you, and throwing yourself against one worked for you to start running for your life in the direction of the streetlights. You didn't know if your screams were intelligible of even if they were loud enough to be screams, you couldn't hear, had no frame of reference.
You thought you saw the lights of a car turning the corner, but you didn't have the time to see. The same guy who had you before was jumping at you, crashing you against the asphalt with his body weight. You felt your skin burn. Arms and face glued to the street with the impact. Your head was ringing, and you only saw spots of light and unfocused shouting and around you, a very loud noise was the last thing you heard before it was all black.
You woke up feeling warm. There were quiet noises of clicking porcelain and muffled conversation to your left.
The sterile smell was what hinted at where you were, opening your eyes to bright white ceilings and empty beds around you. You were the only one in the room apart from the three people around the door.
Miranda, her girlfriend and a nurse. Oddly enough, Miranda was dressed as a police officer. What she was doing there you had no idea, in fact, you didn't even know why you were there.
You tried to sit, and all three looked at you. The nurse came over quickly and fussed around you, helping you sit, and asking how you felt. You didn't feel too bad, but there were some friction burns on your elbows and forearms that you could do without. Mostly it was just your head buzzing faintly.
"She said you might have a concussion," Miranda joined in, timidly placing her hand over one of yours resting beside you in the bed. You turned it so she could hold it if she wanted. You felt a pang when she did.
"The detective asked if you would be willing to answer some questions. I told her you might not be feeling well enough right now, but if you do I can tell her so." The nurse didn't seem too pleased talking about 'the detective', which reminded you of the movie hospital staff and made you smile.
"I don't know how much use I'd be," your voice was croaky as you looked from the nurse to Miranda, "I don't really know why I'm here."
She understood the question you didn't make and asked the nurse if she could talk with you alone. She seemed only partially agreeable but left anyway.
"You were attacked last night near the university," she said immediately, even if trying to sound softer, and her hand tighten around yours. "Why were you even out at that time in the rain?"
"I don't know... I worked the end shift?" you remembered Maggy asking you to and remembered closing and going out in the rain. Not much more than that.
"You were so lucky we decided to patrol the area, Jesus Christ," she was talking faster than normal, and you furrowed your brows, "Do you have any idea how worried I was?"
"Why are you here? You aren't asking me any questions..." your head hurt too much to think at that moment. You just wanted some peace and not to have to stare at Miranda's face because your head and arms were enough things hurting.
"What? Because I care about you! Because I saw what those sick men were trying to do and I know how it'd end-" she choked in her hurried whisper. Was she about to cry? "You have no idea the terror I felt when I realized it was you the one on the floor. You weren't responding and all I could do was scream at Robin who somehow arrested three men on her own and still managed to call an ambulance."
Wow, there really was a reason Miranda dated her, then.
You felt exhausted all of a sudden. Emotionally and physically, you just needed some sleep and a hug and you leaned against Miranda for just that.
She took you in her arms, surprised but seemingly not against it. You sighed and swallowed the knot in your throat. It didn't help much. Why did you have to like her so much? Why was she so kind and caring even after knowing you for only two weeks? It was so unfair she was taken, the one person with whom you could envision making it work.
When you parted, Miranda still had her arms around you. She was searching for something on your face, staring earnestly into your eyes as if willing you to understand her. You could not for the life of you understand anything about that woman anymore. Here she was, holding you and comforting you after flirting with you at your place of work. Sending you all these mixed signals and expecting you not to fall for them.
She looked almost frustrated with your lack of understanding, then her eyes snapped to your lips for one second then looked back at you; brows furrowed and eyes pleading. Why did this have to be so complicated? You matched her look, gazing wantonly at her lips, just to torture yourself at not meeting them.
However, at your lack of action and obvious wish, Miranda made the decision and leaned in. You weren't expecting it, suddenly woke from your daydream to a very real pressure on your lips. She had strawberry lip balm on and tasted of tea. Hospital tea, the ones at the reception for people staying the night. She smelled of nothing other than her, no soap or sweat or anything, just her after a long night and possibly long morning of dealing with whatever resulted from the last night's occurrence. She felt like home, her arms around you bringing you close delicately, the pressing of her lips long and slow as if she was trying to convey this ineffable thing you couldn't understand when she looked at you. It was beautiful and sweet and so painful you had to stop.
"But what about Robin?" you whispered against her lips.
"What about Robin?"
"I'm so confused, aren't you dating Robin? Your detective 'partner'?" and as you said it, everything clicked together "Oh, no-" You hid your face in Miranda's chest, feeling silly for all the bitterness and jealousy you indulged for the last week, but also hating yourself for all the unnecessary heartache. "You and Robin are partners, as in you work together on cases, correct?"
"Yes... I thought that was rather obvious..." Her arms tightened around you and she made soothing circles between your shoulders. "I think we even discussed the case in the coffee shop. I thought you heard us."
"I might have misunderstood," your voice was muffled by your face pressed onto her uncomfortable, bumpy, vest. You heard her chuckle, and she took a step back, with her index under your chin prompting you to look at her. She had a mischievous grin and an arched brow.
"Did you think we were together?" you only nodded, "And were you jealous?" at that, her grin went from mischievous to an earnest, excited smile. She was too pure for this world.
You didn't respond, only looked to the side screwing your face up to avoid the relieved smile.
"No, c'mon, I want to hear it," her voice carried a note of amusement, but she only looked kind when tilting your face to look at her again.
"I might have..." she huffed a small laugh "No! Shut up! Listen-" you could not control your smile at her looking so delighted "It's your fault that you were so adorable that first day and accepted my coffee like it was the best thing ever! It was just coffee and a cookie, and you looked unreasonably happy! And after that you kept coming and coming more frequently to my god-blessed queer café and flirting and looking shy and beautiful, what did you expect me to feel? Are you kidding me? This was all your fault, you menace! So, of course, I was jealous when you appeared with a dark and mysterious stranger and sat in the most private corner possible to whisper to each other like teenagers thinking they’re being subtle!"
"Ok, I realize you are very passionate about this," she laughed softly, bringing you to a hug again. "But you forgot that you were flirting mercilessly with me and that I never asked you to stop." She had a point, but again there were people who liked being flirted with, even when they were in relationships. You didn't think Miranda was like that, though.
"I know, but I'm allowed to be a bit irrational about this..." your volume decreased as you finished the sentence.
"You're pouting," she whispered to match you, "Why?"
Taking a deep breath, you locked eyes with her. Here goes nothing. "Because you're my coffee shop romance," you said trying to sound confident. At her lack of response for more than five seconds, you backtracked, "That is if you'd like to be. I shouldn't have assumed, you-"
"Jesus, shut up-" she said and smashed your lips together.
The kiss wasn't too dextrous, both of you smiling too much and too eager for it to work properly, but it was the best thing in the world.
"Not Jesus, but I'll let it pass this time," you murmured against her lip when you slowed down. She was peppering chaste, slightly long kisses on your lips and face.
"Shut up," you heard her smile before feeling it in your skin.
"You'll have to make me," you breathed back.
Decided to put notes at the end. I posted this one here because of the ask, but I hope you liked it and that I lived up to your expectations! I had a lot of fun writing this one, so thank you so much and sorry for the long post 💛

i am very sleep deprived so apologies if this is jumbled or if anything doesn't make sense, but i have been thinking about this all day and needed to say it out loud
Yes yes Bela is a strong, workaholic Roman Emperor, but ignoring that and getting to the heart (lol) of her, the part that cares too much, that feels things so fully it cannibalizes her, she is Ophelia. A deeply tragic and beautiful character that we cannot help but be drawn to, perhaps because of the tragedy of her. This is obviously not a completely clean cut comparison of characters, there are just as many differences between them as there are similarities, but I still think there is enough to warrant a comparison at all.
Perhaps my personal biggest comparison between the two is the fact that both women, while having agency within their own stories, are TREATED as though they do not by those around them. Hamlet, Laertes, and Polonius all treat Ophelia as though she is a tool to be used for their own gains, and the same can very easily be said of how Miranda AND Alcina interact with Bela. If she is not on the council, putting in more work than any sane person should, staying under lock and key where they can always know she's being a good little pawn, then she is being belittled by her mother who holds no room for mistakes and disappointments from her daughters, or actively threatened and gaslit by Miranda for being "hysterical". At no point is Bela ever allowed to simply be herself without it backfiring on her in some way, and so she begrudgingly complies because at least it keeps her sisters safe.
My second argument for Bela being an Ophelia comparison is her heart itself. Ophelia is SO full of love and devotion, both for her family and for Hamlet, and characters within the play are forever shaming her for this. Bela is so full of heart "she would burn down cities for those she loves" and that is precisely why Miranda curses her to not feel at all. Both characters are expected to be loving and devoted to the people they are closest to, but the SECOND that love can be misconstrued or used against them, they shut the girls out, they rage against the love they have, they make the girls into villains they are not. Hamlet verbally abuses Ophelia when he believes she is spying on him for her family in order to push her away, and Miranda actively takes away Bela's ability to feel and act out against her will when she starts to be too free thinking and caring of others.
My third and atm final thought on the matter because my brain is running on fumes is that they are comparisons for their perceived "madness". Ophelia has FOREVER been regarded as a bit of a loon despite historical context as well as her treatment throughout the play providing exactly a perfect look at why she decides to end her life. And poor Bela, distancing herself from everyone and everything, working herself near to death, and slowly killing herself in a more passive way, not even of her own accord, but simply because she has no other choice in the matter. They're looked at by the surrounding characters in their stories as though they are hysterical and completely out of it for their perfectly understandable reactions to traumatic events that directly affect their livelihoods.
I don't know how to do a closing statement at the moment, so just hope you enjoyed the read and I will probably be back with another part to this soon

Anonymous: Heyyy.... So I've just read your Donna adopts toddler Y/N story. I'm actually in tears lmao It actually made me want Donna as a mom instead of a lover lol Also I was wondering if you could write something like Y/N getting older (maybe like a teenager) with Donna as their mom
Aww thank you! It’s beautiful to know that I’ve moved you like that. I love this idea! Link to the first part here! Let’s get into it!
You had lived with Donna, Angie and the dolls for most of your life. They were your family and they meant everything to you.
Your mom was so kind and giving. She did everything she could to make you feel loved.
When you were sick, she would feed you delicious soups, hold you and gently rock you, and soothe your fevers with a wet washcloth. She also sang beautiful Italian folk songs to help calm you in your delirium. Her voice always comforted you the most.
She also taught you a lot about cooking and some of your favorite memories with her were in the kitchen.
You were her designated taste-tester which gave you so much pride when you were little. You felt like you were performing such an honorable role, but it was really just an excuse for her to spend extra time with you.
She also introduced you to her adoptive family. Alcina thought you were adorable and frequently invited you over to the castle for visits.
The Dimitrescu sisters had so much fun teaching you about pranks, (Dani and Cass) and about the arts (Bela).
Miranda and Karl taught you about science and math. They were so proud when you learned something new.
Miranda ended up being a very doting grandma and would often spoil you a little too much.
Sal taught you about fishing and film history. You two grew very close and still have regular movie nights together.
As amazing as your extended family is, though, you always enjoyed coming home to your mom.
Angie was like a crazy aunt who let you do things that Donna said were off limits.
When Donna was busy working on new dolls, she would have Angie watch you. However, when she came back to check on the two of you one day after she had finished her project, she found you both superglued together and laughing crazily… Angie was no longer a trusted babysitter. That’s where Alcina really came in handy.
Donna also taught you Italian. It was like a secret language between the two of you and it made you feel even closer to her than you already did.
As you got older, you began to help Donna by fixing things around the house and doing yard work. Donna really appreciated your assistance because she did not have any clue about how to get started on house work of that magnitude.
She would tell you how thankful she was for you and cook you anything you wanted that night as a reward.
Donna was there for you when you developed your first crush on a girl from the village, Elena Lupu, too.
“Hey… Mama?” You asked her nervously one evening.
“Hmm? What is it, tesoro? Is something wrong?” She asked you, concerned. She came over and looked you over to make sure you weren’t hurt.
You blushed and just spilled your secret. “So… There’s this girl I like…” You began.
Donna smiled knowingly. “Yes?” She prompted.
“I was wondering… Do you have any advice on what I should do?”
Donna gave you one of her famous mom hugs. She was an excellent cuddler. “My little Y/N is growing up.” She said. She pinched your cheek which made you laugh, before she led you over to the couch to talk.
Angie started making fun of you, but Donna banished her upstairs.
Donna made you nice clothes and taught you how to style your hair. She said you looked perfect in anything, but she wanted you to be as confident as possible.
Sal and Karl tried to give you dating advice as well, but they weren’t much help.
“All you gotta do is be really mean. Women like that, you know?” Karl told you while you both went fishing with Sal one afternoon.
“That’s horrible, Karl!” Sal admonished him.
“What do you think I should do, Uncle Sal? Any tips for me?” You asked.
Sal furrowed a brow. “Well, Y/N… In the movies, the hero always gets the girl. But then again, they also tend to like rebels… Do you have a leather jacket?? Ooh! Let’s watch Grease when we get back!”
When you told Donna what Karl and Sal had suggested, she scoffed. “Don’t listen to your Uncle Karl, tesoro. He’s an emotionally stunted man-baby.” She said, annoyed. You couldn’t help but laugh at Donna’s insult. She definitely had a fiery Italian side.
“As for your Uncle Sal… He’s a hopeless romantic.” She said. “Just be yourself, Y/N. That’s all you need to do… Oh! But, make sure to speak a bit of Italian. It really is a beautiful language. Elena will swoon.” She smiled and kissed your cheek.
Donna’s advice made all the difference. You were honest and you told Elena how you felt. The two of you started dating pretty quickly.
(Yes, the Italian did wonders too. Donna was so proud.)
Eventually, after you and Elena had been dating for a long time, you decided to get married.
Donna gave you her mother’s ring to propose with. She smiled with tears in her eyes at how you had grown. “Remember, Y/N. No matter what, you will always be my baby. I love you.” She promised and gave you a tender hug.
Donna was a bawling mess at the wedding too… As was the rest of your family. Mother Miranda officiated and kept having to stop because she was about to choke up.
You had a special parent-child dance at the reception with Donna. It was one of your favorite parts of the wedding.
“Y/N, you have been the best part of my life. I love you and am so proud of you.” She said.
You typically didn’t get misty-eyed, but that made you want to cry like a baby. It meant everything that Donna was proud of you.
“I love you, Mama.” You told her and kissed her on the head.
Donna smiled back at you and cupped your face. “Mama loves you, Y/N.”
She was the best mom you could have asked for.
Note: So soft, I love Donna! I ended the last bit of dialogue between Donna and Y/N like I did in the first head canon to bring it full circle T^T Wahhh! I am absolutely loving these types of head canons.

The Bodyguard AU 😌
((Your love for Tevos is showing again, friend. 😏 I gotchu though! I think you wanted three prompts from this if I recall correctly, so I hope you like these!))
Pairing: Rajhi Shepard/Councilor Tevos
Rating: General
AU: Wanna Be On Your Mind (formerly titled the Bodyguard AU)
---
"Who the fuck taught Sparatus how to do air quotes?!" Shepard crossed her arms with a scowl. "I swear, I'm going to break his fingers if he does that to me again!"
Tevos didn't even bother to look up from where she was perusing through various documents on her desk. "Please don't," she deadpanned even though she was all too aware her request was likely to be ignored with as incensed as the human woman currently was. Her point was further proven when Shepard continued on her with tirade without so much as missing a beat.
"Was it his secretary?! I bet it was his secretary!" Shepard began pacing along the length of her office--agitation evident in every movement--while voicing her thoughts aloud. "I see the way he leers at her!"
"Shepard--"
"'Interest in strengthening alliances with the newest members of the galactic community' my ass! They're fucking, Tevos! I just know it! I'd bet my entire salary on it!"
Tevos gave a long-suffering sigh as she pressed her fingers against her temples. "Considering I'm currently paying for your salary, one would think you would act with a bit of decorum."
"Look, outside of your office, I will act as damn professional as you want me to be. There's a reason why I had Miranda put that 'satisfaction guaranteed with services' clause in the contract with our clients." The woman pointed down repeatedly at the floor. "When we're alone though? I want the option to at least vent. If not, that's fine. I can always have Kaidan or Jacob stand in for me if you'd like."
It was likely the wiser option, Tevos knew.
She had met both men often enough to know they were utterly consummate in the duties expected of them. Tevos had employed enough bodyguards in her lifetime to know that they more than met the standards of such an intense industry. Still, there was something... refreshing about Shepard's personality in particular--one that was a powerful and bold as the former Special Ops commander of the Alliance.
And for as wild and spirited as Shepard could be, Tevos could admit the woman would never intentionally jeopardize her position as the asari councilor. Shepard was always the epitome of professional competence even among the most high-profile members in the galaxy.
Her connection to those very same individuals aside, she was everything one could ask for in a bodyguard.
Even Tevos could admit that.
Surely, she could forgive a few eccentricities in these private moments if it meant retaining the part of their relationship that she had come to appreciate. She tilted her head as she turned to consider Shepard more thoughtfully then. She couldn't help the soft smile that danced upon her lips.
"That won't be necess--"
"Councilor?"
Both she and Shepard turned to stare at the intercom at her desk. Tevos immediately recognized the voice of her secretary. She leaned forward to tap at the haptic interface.
"Yes, Esila?"
"The turian councilor is here to see you. He mentioned wanting to discuss some of the upcoming proposals for the Council." There was a pause. "Oh, and it seems he's bringing along his secretary. Would you like me to update the lunch order from your favorite restaurant?"
Tevos didn't at all miss the way Shepard immediately perked up with great interest at the mention of Sparatus' secretary accompanying him.
A dog with the proverbial bone as it were if she were to borrow the human idiom...
"That would be lovely, Esila. You can send them both in. Please do tell me when lunch is delivered."
"Of course."
Tevos ensured she had the intercom turned off before she turned to Shepard with a pointed stare. The woman responded by giving her the most winsome smile, but Tevos knew not to fall for it. "And you... behave."
---
"Miss Lawson's calm conduct in all matters is highly regarded by my colleagues."
"Oh, Miranda?" Shepard chuckled as she wandered over to her desk with their lunch. "Yeah, she's probably one of the smartest people I know. She's got a doctorate or two in fields that I probably couldn't even begin to understand. Don't ask me how she managed to do that between the type of work we do. I just chalk it up to being a Miranda thing at this point." She grinned. "I'm sure the Alliance Admiralty Board is still frothing at the mouth that I managed to steal her away from them when I left. Sorry about the wait with the food by the way. You wouldn't believe how long the line was for these."
Tevos was pleased when Shepard was mindful of placing coasters beneath their respective drinks. Tevos wasn't fond of the marks that were often left behind on the glass surface due to condensation. As she gazed down at the colorful beverages, she realized that the woman had ventured out to one of the Asian restaurants that recently received a boom in popularity thanks to having the asari councilor's personal bodyguard as a frequent visitor.
The drinks were something of a new, but well-appreciated, novelty on the Presidium for the small spheres nestled at the bottom of the cup. They were either made using traditional tapioca, which Shepard preferred because of the chew, or Tevos' favorite of the tropical fruit-filled balls that popped almost instantly on meeting her tongue.
"No need to concern yourself," she answered, smiling gratefully when Shepard handed her an oblong-shaped sandwich. She could smell the sweet, grilled meat almost instantly. Despite her focus toward finishing her remaining work, she couldn't help the way her mouth watered, reminding her she hadn't eaten since early that morning. "Did she hold a similar position to yours when she was in the Alliance?" Tevos wouldn't have been surprised if she had.
"No actually." Shepard wasted little time into tucking into her banh mi. Apparently, the woman's hunger had been greater than her own, for Tevos couldn't help but raise her tattooed brows at the large bite that had been taken. Shepard hummed appreciatively at the taste, finishing chewing before continuing with, "She held the same Lieutenant rank Kaidan had before we left. I honestly thought she'd make Captain before he and I ever did, but if you were to ask Miranda, she'd say something along the lines of her being tired of the bureaucracy."
"Hm. I'm sure with her resume she could have gone anywhere she desired."
"That's what I told her!" Shepard laughed. "I guess for her, working private security wasn't too far different from what we used to do." She shrugged. "The pay's better at least, considering the type of clientele we have. I don't think she's going to complain about being able to pay for the entirety of her sister's university funds without even having to bat an eye." The woman picked up her drink then--a coffee variant from what Tevos could tell of the color--to sample it and the tapioca balls, chewing carefully on the latter. "I appreciate that she was even willing to follow me on this little venture. It was admittedly a bit of a gamble when we first left the Alliance."
"I'm sure anyone would be lucky to have a second-in-command as level-headed and skilled as Miss Lawson."
"Oh, definitely. I'd probably forget that my head was on my shoulders half the time if it weren't for her. She's better at the business side of things than I am. Honestly, she has the patience of a saint, which says a lot, considering Jack and I normally--"
"Shepard!"
And Tevos blinked when Shepard jerked in place at the call of her name by the very woman they'd been discussing. From the volume, Tevos wagered that Miss Lawson was somewhere outside her office.
"Shepard! Why the bloody hell did Kasumi find surveillance footage of you and Officer Vakarian shooting drink canisters off the highest point of the Presidium?!"
"Oh, goddamn Kasumi and her hacking abilities..." Shepard muttered balefully. Still, she wasted little time in gathering her half of her lunch in her hands before throwing a grin Tevos' way. "Uh, I'll text Ash and tell her to take over guard duty for me for the next few hours. I should hopefully see you again during dinner if--"
"Shepard!"
The woman's smile only widened at the shout even if Tevos could see how those golden-colored eyes tightened at their corners with sudden nervousness.
"Excuse me. I have to go hide now."
---
"Whoa, what? Wait, wait, wait! You can't just leave me here with them!" she whispered frantically.
"Shepard, I haven't visited Thessia for the better part of a decade. I'm expected to at least talk to some of the politicians here during my stay. Surely, you can manage a half hour on your own while I do so."
In response, the woman inhaled deeply before placing both of her palms together, reminiscent of a prayer position. Then, she slowly raised her hands up to press the sides of her index fingers against her own lips.
"Tevos, I really don't think you realize just how repressed some of your colleagues are..." she murmured, dark brows raising as she widened her eyes pointedly.
Tevos sighed even as she was unable to stop the wave of fondness that washed over her amidst her exasperation. "Shepard..."
"They are!" she countered in a harsh whisper before flickering her gaze over Tevos' head inconspicuously.
Well, as inconspicuously as she could anyway.
The human stood head and shoulders above most of the asari in attendance.
"Look, remember how long it took for the people on the Presidium to get over their fascination with me when I first took this job? There's a reason why I didn't bother wearing a sari to this thing. I learned from last time! Everyone kept wanting to touch my arms!"
Tevos blinked before turning to eye her bodyguard's current attire. While she had been curious about the change, she hadn't bothered to question the reasons as to why. Shepard certainly didn't do the dark, three-piece suit a disservice. Still, while it was remarkably well-tailored, it did nothing to hide Shepard's impressive physique.
Considering the asari were a communal species, it wasn't odd for them to be rather casual around one another, but such conduct was typically reserved between close friends and family members. While she knew some of the maidens upon the Presidium could be forward with their curiosity, she had assumed her colleagues would have shown the proper level of etiquette to a foreign visitor in their midst--even for someone as unique as Shepard.
That apparently hadn't been the cause.
Tevos would be in Armali for the next month or so on business. Perhaps she could forego work for at least one night, especially since Shepard seemed so uncomfortable.
...She did, however, make a mental note to watch whomever had caused her bodyguard such discomfort.
Tevos held her hand out then in request for Shepard's own. "Would you dance with me?"
Shepard blinked, taken aback by the request, especially since it wasn't part of their typical routine. "Um, sure. If you really want to."
"Well, it serves two purposes," she admitted with a laugh even as Shepard took the lead. For someone as large and imposing as her, she was remarkably light on her feet. "You wouldn't be left on your own, and it would be easier to dance our way toward the exit than manage through the crowd here. I can announce our farewells, and we can depart for the rest of the evening."
"Oh? Oh!" Shepard grinned then. "That's pretty smart of you."
Tevos huffed out a small laugh. "I do try although I'm sure my mother might be somewhat disappointed that I'm not making more contacts tonight."
"I doubt it. Matriarch Osiria's been more interested in what you get up to during your day to day schedule than anything business-related."
Tevos' brows furrowed at the claim. "I... didn't realize you had become that familiar with one another."
"Oh, well you know that I like waking up early. She's normally down in the kitchen when I make my protein shake, and she likes talking with me."
"About what exactly?"
"Random things honestly although we had a pretty interesting talk this morning."
"Oh?" Tevos could feel a certain sense of wariness settling over her. "Should I be concerned with this topic of conversation? Do I even wish to know what you spoke to her about?"
"Well..." Her gaze turned toward the high domed ceiling in thought. "I'm not entirely sure if my translator glitched out when she asked, but she seemed interested in my pedigree?" She shrugged. "And then she went on to ask about when you would be giving her grandchildren,” she answered, snickering, especially when Tevos stiffened in her arms, almost missing a step. “She mentioned something along the lines of waiting centuries and there still not being a single toddler in sight. Although honestly? I think she only added that last bit to earn some sympathy from me. Apparently, my being around you all the time makes her assume I have better insight into your love life.”
