Another one based on Inuyasha Downs’ Tweet. Someone had an even funnier idea and I couldn’t resist.
Tumblr media
Technically, the anime version of Inuyasha was incomplete, but thankfully the Final Act came out to complete it (although a few arcs were skipped). But then they tried to add more but it resulted being a cheap badly written crap.

How do you feel about the new hny chapter?
I haven't read it yet lol Usually someone posts a link to a google drive with all the pages but I couldn't find one today. I've only seen panels out of context!
I've seen this tweet which translates a few pages and I LOVE that Inuyasha calls out Sesshomaru for being a deadbeat dad. The way Inuyasha says "He's missing out on all the fun!" like he genuinely loves being a dad it makes me cry 😭😭 I love that we got to see Kagome holding Moroha quite a few times too.
There's this panel where Inuyasha got injured and Sesshomaru carries him... BRIDAL style... it's very weird and I don't like it LMAO
Anyway I'll have to wait for the translation because I have no idea what actually happened and why Inuyasha and Kagome ended up sealed.

Yashahime sesshomaru is a pedophile and shit ass father (confirmed)
Rin is unfit to be a mother (confirmed) and is a child. They unconvincingly try to cover their ass but refuse to prove otherwise
Everyone is ooc, the story is sloppy, all over the place, contradicts and retcons the original material and ITSELF...
If anyone truly loves inuyasha, they will avoid this sorry excuse for a cash grab and pretend this CONFIRMED AU/NON CANON story does not exist

Yashahime should have never happened
Were the writers REALLY so desperate to have Sesshomaru sire babies with an established character that they looked at the goddamn 8yr old girl he took care of in the original series and went "YES, SHE WILL DO"

Through a Mirror- ensemble
Return to File
Recovery date: July 5th, 2023
Description: Request by huntersmoon1 on tumblr: I have been inspired by inuyasha/yashahime! Can I request a scenario for tsukasa shishio as a demon (I’ll let you choose what kind of demon he is) in inuyashas world with his young half demon daughter. They get sucked through a portal into the stone world where Senku and the crew are (after stone world tsukasa gets revived) and demon tsukasa and his daughter meet stone world tsukasa and company.

There is a theory that every decision spawns a new universe. These are called parallel universes, and if each decision spawns a new one they should, in theory, slowly become unique universes. For example, if Chrome throws a rock at Kohaku there is a universe where he doesn’t, and a universe where she throws the rock at him, and a universe where they don’t even exist.
Tsukasa thought drunk Senku was making things up. Maybe spent a bit too much time with Gen. How did he go from Chrome not throwing a rock to Chrome and Kohaku not existing? The scientist had passed out before he could ask, and Tsukasa didn’t care enough to ask later.
He’s starting to think he maybe should have.
“And this… machine… brought us here?”
“We’re still trying to figure out how,” Xeno said, flipping through his clipboard, “it was only designed to transfer data. Bringing physical beings here is a complete anomaly.”
Xeno looked up at the man and noticed Tsukasa out of the corner of his eye. He waved him over. “Tsukasa, thank you for coming.”
The man’s ears twitched, and his tail flicked aggressively, as he turned around to see the new arrival. His ears quickly flattened against his head, as he took up a defensive pose that Tsukasa matched just as quickly.
Xeno, who’d turned back to his clipboard, completely ignored the two as he spoke again.
“Tsukasa Shishio the human, meet Tsukasa Shishio the demon. Tsukasa Shishio the demon, meet Tsukasa Shishio the human.” He paused, looked up at something behind the demon Tsukasa, and spoke again, “Mirai, meet human Tsukasa.”
A young girl cautiously poked her head around the demon Tsukasa. The demon placed one hand protectively on her arm, keeping her tucked behind him, even as the human Tsukasa dropped his guard. Mirai gave a small wave before clutching Tsukasa’s cloak and hiding her face in it.
“Oh, Tsukasa, I see you’ve met our new friends,” Senku said, strolling up to them with a yawn.
“I suppose there’s an explanation for this?” Tsukasa asked, waving at the two doppelgangers.
“Magic.”
Now that was a word he never thought Senku would use.
“Magic?” Tsukasa raised an eyebrow suspiciously. “Can’t everything be explained with science?”
“Different universe, different rules.” Senku shrugged. “Anyways, you’re on diplomatic duty today. No one knows you, better than you after all.”
Without any further explanation, the two scientists headed off and left the three alone.
Tsukasa tried to look around the other Tsukasa, only for his view of Mirai to be blocked by the man’s tail. Mirai, in turn, went up on her toes to look over it, her ears twitching curiously. She stared at him intently for a moment before looking up at the demon Tsukasa.
“Papa,” Tsukasa’s eyes widened before scrunching up in confusion, “he smells like you.”
---
“So, she’s your sister in this world?” Shishio, the demon Tsukasa, asked, watching as his daughter and the other Mirai hunted for shells along the shore.
Suika had joined them, letting Chalk dig around in the mud and find hidden shells for the girls. She was positively thrilled at the idea of watching two Mirai’s as the two Tsukasa’s talked.
The human Tsukasa nodded. “And she’s your daughter?” Shishio nodded, watching as his daughter squealed and threw a shell as a crab crawled out. The two chuckled. “And her mother…”
He wasn’t really sure what he was asking. Was it someone he knew in this world? Did anyone from this stone world even exist in the other world? Maybe Mirai’s mother wasn’t even alive anymore.
“Never mi-”
“She’s no longer with us. She was human, and believe it or not Mirai is almost five hundred years old.”
“My sister is over three thousand, appearances can be deceiving.”
“For a world lacking in magic, it is quite impressive.” His light tone turned solemn as he asked, “Your Senku, how much faith do you have in him?”
“I owe him my life, he will do everything he can to return you both to your world.”
“Very well.” They fell into silence for a moment, watching the run away from the tide as it washed back up, before Shishio made another point. “This,” he waved at the two Mirais, “is incredibly strange.”
“Most definitely.” Tsukasa agreed, before the two started laughing at the absurdity of the situation.
“Big brother!” Mirai, the stone world Mirai, yelled, waving at the two. “Come play with us!”
---
By dinner time the two girls, and Suika, were completely exhausted to the point they were falling asleep at their table. They would slowly slump down until their heads knocked against each other and they startled awake again. Shishio had already draped his cloak around them, like a blanket, to keep the cool evening air out.
Tsukasa was pretty sure the half-demon Mirai was purring.
“They're so cute,” Ginro cooed, and startled the Mirais awake again, earning himself an elbow to the side from Kinro and a shush from Minami.
“If you’d like I can take them to bed,” Francois offered, removing their apron as they returned from delivering meals to the scientists.
“It’s alright, we’ll take them in a minute.”
“You know,” Yuzuriha said, “seeing you all fatherly isn’t as weird as I thought it would be.” The sharp look from the two Tsukasa’s made her jump as she rushed to explain herself. “I-I mean you take su-such good care of Mirai, I didn’t mean anything bad I swear.”
“She’s right,” Minami hummed, resting her chin on her palm. “It’s cute.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Tsukasa notices Shishio’s ears turn slightly red. Oh, he feels his face heat up as he coughs awkwardly.
“I think we should get these two to bed.”
“But you aren’t done your dinner?”
“It’s fine,” Tsukasa said, scooping his sister up as Shishio picked up his daughter with a  chuckle.
“If they aren’t gonna finish this, can I?”
“Ginro have some manners.”

"SeSsRiN iS cAnOn, GeT a LiFe AnD mOvE oN"!!!! cit.
Rumiko Takahashi NEVER said that Yashahime/Sessrin are canon, Sessrinners are living in their own delusion as usual because litterally every canon source tells otherwise but of course they prefer to ignore this truth. Rumiko, after Yashahime was out clearly stated that Sess is Rin's "hogosha" aka guardian/parental figure and in her recent interview also clearly stated that her series, ALL OF THEM, are over. She never acknowledged Yashahime as Inuyasha's canon sequel, we were never told by whoever to consider Yashahime part of the Inuyasha canonical storyline as if Rumiko herself wrote it unlike J.K.Rowling did with the Curse of the Heir that unfortunately is canon. On the contrary, on the Yashahime OFFICIAL WEBSITE is clearly stated that Yashahime is nothing more than Sumisawa's au scenario. Even the author of the YH manga adaption explained on a Twitter post that his work is merely his PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of Yashahime. So basically it's a doujinshi inspired to a fanfiction. These Sessrin pedos stupidly believe that given that Rumiko approved these works means that they're magically turned canon, but just so you know she needs to approve everything related to Inuyasha because of legal rights. She also approved the movies and the drama cds (remember the Inukik one?) but this stuff is never canon and never will be. Toriyama also had to approve Dragon Ball GT but it's still not canon. The day Rumiko will wake up and publicly announce we're supposed to consider the YH series and manga as canon then it's gonna be set in stone, but canonical sources tell otherwise and contraddicting themselves now would embarass and make them look like clowns who're not able to make up their minds. So no, not gonna happen. Not now not ever, sorry. Also, Rumiko never remotely hinted in her CANON story that Sesshomaru and Rin would be lovers, nor that Sess's feelings for her were remotely romantic when he showed to care for her. On the contrary, she always called out pedophilic behaviors in her story, when Miroku asked that 11 yo girl to birth his kids, all the other characters were disgusted as it should be. And Rin had exactly the same age when Pedomaru proposed to her in that disgusting drama cd that again, wasn't from Rumiko but from Sunrise.
So... nice try pedos, but no, your garbage pedo ship will NEVER BE CANON. You can cry as much as you want, just enjoy your fanfiction/doujinshi crumbs and go back to the sewer were pedos like you belong 🤷‍♀️😘
There's an Inukik one???
And yes, that's on point with what we've been saying for the past 3 years and even before that.
Also, even if it's not canon I dunno why they can get so up in arms "Like really? That's gonna stop you from shipping your THING? That is not canon. You gonna die because of that?" If we go by Anastasia's source, (*a person who worked animating some parts of HnY*) and that first leak— it's implied they were more "mom" options on the table and that when present with the idea of "Rin" mostly everyone on the meeting rejected it except ofc you know whos that kept pushing the idea (and we know that backfired). So, let's say it was Kikyo, or Kagura, or Sara Asano, or even Kagome, or EVEN some random woman.
It would still have been non-canon... 🤷🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️
Facts.
Unless RT says otherwise, it would still be non-canon.
And even if that had happened. I have a feeling they would be rustled at us and the studio for not choosing theirs. Tbh, why care about that? Even if you ignore the saucerib in HnY. The rest of the thing mostly f*cking sucks. They had HnY on the backburner for years after TFA and they couldn't come up with decent writing? They would've f*cked over my ship or the others like they did theirs and InuKag's. The people I know here can come up with something better in a one shot in one day. Hells, weren't they tagging #justiceforsessrin on twitter because they hated how it turned out at the ending?
At this point I don't really give much about HnY. As long as they stay in their little corner and stay off my sh*t I won't give Fs so like I've told em before:
"Block me".
I just want to focus on my headcanons and writing skills to Git Gud. I'm more mad that thanks to a guy with a Loli fetish this fandom isn't what it used to be.

*SessRin Drabble*
Rin and Sesshomaru's expanding family has Myoga seeing red.
Inspired by Myoga's appearance in chapter 17 of the Yashahime manga. He just can't get enough of that Inu blood.
Ao3
Flea
The flea was ecstatic.
Sesshomaru’s wife was expecting twins! His opportunities to taste his dearly departed master’s blood (even in diluted form) would soon be doubled!
Myoga rolled from side to side in jubilant anticipation, four arms clutched to his stomach. Oyakata-sama’s blood!
Please inherit your mother’s kindness! he prayed, dreaming of benevolent hanyos sweetly begging him to take his fill. “Drink freely, Myoga-jiichan!” they’d cry. “For your loyalty to the dog clan!”
Rapturously, he sucked.
A hand smacked down hard and his deflated body was met by blinking brown eyes.
Perhaps Rin was not so gentle after all.

Things I'm absolutely adoring about the Yashahime manga so far:
Setsuna and Moroha growing up beside one another and having a close friendship.
Towa being a slightly clueless but enthusiastic person who rushes head first into things only to regret it soon after.
Protective papa Sota.
Moroha calling Towa a fool just like how her father Inuyasha called Kagome a fool the first time they met.
Setsuna being completely displeased by Towa and refusing to believe that they're twins because Towa sucks at fighting.
Grandma Kaede, just knowing that she raised the girls and is affectionately called Grandma makes me stupidly soft.
Moroha living up to the Inuyasha tradition of knocking on doors and saying things like, "Yo Grandma Kaede you alive still?" and receiving responses of irritation from Kaede like, "I'm not dead-! Quit being so loud!" Lowkey living for it.

Trashahime: Massive Recycling!
1) Mistress Centipede
Tumblr media
This one frankly seemed alright to me, but the rest...
2) Hitokon

3) Bone Demon and her Father
Tumblr media
4) Cat Demon
Tumblr media
5) Meioju
Tumblr media
6) Ginka and Kinka
Tumblr media
7) Mizuchi and Nuwamatari
Tumblr media
8) Nikosen
Tumblr media
9) Sayo
Tumblr media
10) Yuki and her brother
Tumblr media
11) Wakana
Tumblr media
12) Kodoku
Tumblr media
13) The two onis
Tumblr media
14) Snow Panther
Tumblr media
15) An incarnation of the main antagonist interested in a member of the dog demon clan
Tumblr media
16) Not alone anymore
Tumblr media
17) A moth demon destroyed by a hanyo in a mindless state
Tumblr media
18) Kao and the bug in the chest
Tumblr media
19) Shibugarasus, Toads, Kumogashiras
Tumblr media
So the demons Inuyasha fought were actually aliens!? 🤦🤦🤦
20) The giant bug with Naraku within
Tumblr media
And not just Inuyasha, also Sailor Moon
21) The Rainbow Crystals
Tumblr media
- The Silver Crystal was split into the seven Rainbow Crystals so as to seal away Seven Great Yōma. And as Sailor Moon shed a tear for her lover Tuxedo Mask who was mortally wounded, it caused the seven Rainbow Crystals to react and merge into one, forming the Silver Crystal itself. - As Zero shed a tear onto the Sacred Jewel, upon learning the death of Toga whom she was fond of, the seven rainbow pearls came out of it.
22) Chibiusa and the Door of Time
Tumblr media
- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.
No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).
I know there are some similar materials and characters designs in Rumiko Takahashi’s manga series, but that’s from one work to another that she does some reuse and she still comes up with original materials which makes her mangas differ a lot between each other. In the case of a continuation of one story, it’s really pathetic, which is one of the reasons why Trashahime was a cheap what if made by amateurs.

i heard trigun reboot become huge hit revied fanbase and i dont know if sunrise would react
Well Yashahime did revive the fandom for a while, until everyone realized it sucked and left again.
Tumblr media
I watched the first episode of Trigun Stampede recently and it is so good. I also listened to a podcast with a producer for the series and you can tell the reboot was a huge passion project and a lot of love and care went into it. It's not like Yashahime which only happened because producers wanted to make money and Sumisawa basically had to be forced to come up with a story 🥴 If we had a PROPER reboot that followed the manga and was made by people who actually respect the canon story (NOT Sunrise) I'm sure it would revive the fandom too.

Pretty sure that delusional Sessrinner is stalking your blog, their salt and insecurity is showing because deep down they perfectly know that Yashahime is not canon so they feel the need to shove their delusions down your throat.
If Yashahime was truly confirmed canon by its authors (but they clearly stated it's merely Sumisawa's au scenario on the official site) or by Rumiko Takahashi herself, they wouldn't even waste time with us. Like, when it comes to the Harry Potter fandom, unfortunately J.K.Rowling stated that the Cursed Child is canon so it doesn't matter how many ppl hate it (me included), it stays canon.
Contrary to that, a series like Dragon Ball GT, was very unpopular in the DB fandom, pretty sure there were ppl who at least enjoyed something about the show, but still doesn't make it canon. Yashahime is the DBGT of the Inuyasha series, ppl have all the right to enjoy parts of it, parts that the OG canon series doesn't show (like Inukag's married life with a daughter) but still ppl's enjoyement doesn't turn a series canon when it's not. Inukag fans can enjoy Inukag+Moroha as much as they want but she's still a character that belongs to a not canon au, just like Towa and Setsuna who exclusively exist in Sumisawa's scenario, not in the OG canon plot. And we Inukik fans can enjoy the Inukik homage as much as we want, it's still not canon.
I honestly don't know if this idiotic anon is playing dumb or they're actually stupid, still whatever their situation is, Yashahime isn't nor will ever be canon because even its authors never acknowledge it as such. They'd better suck it up and move on with their pathetic pedophilic fantasies.
First of all, I love the InuKik community. We’re so cool. Everyone wishes they were as cool as us.
But exactly yes; the concept of official but non canon content isn’t new, not even to the Inuyasha fandom. There was that one cool videogame that had some really good ideas and concepts. Neat, sure, but not canon. All three of the movies? Also not canon despite having some cool stuff in them. Every single filler episode? Not canon. Yashahime is no different just cuz a group of weirdos wanna see a 13 year old marry a grown man.

one of these days i'm gonna write a long ass post no one will read comparing the Yashahime Sessrin debacle to the Elden Ring Mohgmiq shipping community.
actually i'll just do it now.
Full disclosure I wrote a lot about how much I hated Sessrin and was definitely in the anti-tags. I never had an issue with people shipping it though- I had a big issue with the character assassination that had to happen for the ship to be canon and the complete and utter bastardization of the Sess/Rin relationship in order to make it work for a show that sucked absolute ass.
Shipping isn't a moral statement on a persons character. fiction and art exists to allow people to explore dark, twisted, or taboo subjects- among self expression, social commentary...etc etc. if a person ships something "problematic" that's their business, and if it interacts with a wider fandom audience it's common courtesy to tag or warn people of the content they might see.
do you have to like or agree with someone's ship? no. do you have to be friends with that person or engage with them and their interests? no. does someone shipping something morally ambiguous, distasteful or "wrong" mean that person as a whole is bad, evil, or somehow toxic? no. can it mean those things? yes. but that's not something you can tell from purely seeing someone's tastes in fiction, media, or shipping online.
when it comes to narrative and media portraying things as "good" or "bad" or if something has an underlying commentary or agenda, it gets more complex.
take lolita, or game of thrones for example:
lolita is a novel which depicts a pedophilic relationship through the eyes of an abuser. the relationship and lolita herself are seen from humbert's perspective- he sexualizes her and rapes her and still casts her in the light of some sort of temptress though she's only 12. he admits to himself that's what he's doing and the novel- despite being from his POV doesn't excuse or praise this. he is not a hero, he is not praised, and the relationship is not cast as healthy, desirable or good.
in GoT we get cersei and jaime. twins who are so in love they tear each other and the world around them apart to be together. their relationship is tragic, it's viewed as taboo and degenerate by characters in the novel- and for most people that would be really gross and unacceptable to see irl. but their relationship still has value and meaning, they are two screwed up people who ultimately are condemned for being horrible not for their incest but because they do bad things and dont care about anyone but each other.
on one hand, we have an author who depicts something morally reprehensible to explore an unreliable narrative - the fucked up psyche of a middle aged dude who's so up his own ass that he thinks a child has seduced him and that's like, ok.
on the other hand we have an author who has written a relationship most would consider morally bad- but ultimately what makes those characters immoral isn't their love- it's them.
both of these relationships aren't acceptable or seen as healthy or safe in real life, but their inherent depiction isn't "wrong" and doesn't make the media they appear in "wrong".
can there be issues or problems when media depicts problematic, harmful, or morally ambiguous things as a positive? oh yeah.
to bring us back to Yashahime, part of the reason the sessrin ship got SO much backlash was because of how it was portrayed.
for some context: we have an already established relationship between sesshomaru and rin in the OG inuyasha- rin is a child of around 8, Sesshomaru is an immortal demon lord of unknown age, but looks to be 18-20. in inuyasha, he acts as her guardian and caretaker.
in yashahime we get a rin who from episode 1 has: zero agency, zero character growth or personality, zero change in mindset or mannerisms from her depiction as a child. and on top of that when we do see her interact with her beloved husband...he literally treats her like shit. like. i won't go too much into it because it was really poorly handled.
but the point is- sunrise went out of there way to establish rin was impregnated as barely a teenager by her mentor figure, make it out to be some grand romance and then when they had the opportunity to showcase said romance made it the most cringeworthy and sad thing you could possibly imagine.
this was against the perceived wishes of the original author, rumiko takahashi who herself stated she created their original relationship to be more of a parent/child dynamic. that and it basically nullified any and all character development sesshomaru had in the OG show.
this is an example of a narrative portraying something explicitly harmful as romantic or positive to the possible detriment of the viewer base- who contain young girls who may now see grooming behavior as okay and normal.
that being said- people who decide to ship or write about these relationships may do so for a wide variety of reasons. maybe they want to explore the dynamic more. maybe they want to make their own commentary. maybe they just thinks it's interesting or compelling. or maybe they have some sort of trauma related to it and it helps them to explore it. ultimately whatever the reason- it's none of your business.
in fandom, you have the choice to engage with or not engage with things you don't like. if the content is tagged and you do it anyway- that's on you.
just because i personally find sessrin gross, icky, and would really rather not see it ever doesn't mean the people who do like it are bad. it means they like it.
the same goes for people who ship Mohgmiq. it's a ship. it's a ship in a videogame that is never once portrayed as UWU ~romantic~ in fact, the story and atmosphere pretty clearly make it out to be an act of intelligent evil. (no matter how tragic mohg is and no matter whatever is going on with miquella and his bewitchment- which like who knows maybe we get a twist - but that's not the point)
and even if it didn't go out of its way to do that, people can still ship whatever they want.
anyway this is getting long so disclaimer:
people with ships that contain morally ambiguous or bad pairings aren't inherently bad people
can a pattern of problematic or predatory behavior and preferences give you a heads up that someone may be not great? yeah but that's a different discussion
i don't have the energy to write up a whole thing about pedophilia in anime, american obsessions with youth and child pageants, how underaged porn contributes to the harm and sexualization of minors- especially non-white children and a ton of other shit that ties into this atm
there's more discourse going on around how mohg is the only LGBTQ rep in ER and he's a pedophile etc etc and that's a whole thing for another post BUT if you seriously think he's the only queer character in ER buddy i've got news for you
censorship is bad

For the first time since 2020, I am feeling the urge to read InuKag fics again???
This all started in June when I FINALLY read the iconic "Freak Attraction" by our esteemed @artistefish (which is PHENOMENAL AND AMAZING BTW PLEASE GO READ IT), but then, just now, I saw that the Smut Queen herself, @keichanz had posted new smut...... 👀👀👀
Aaaaaand suddenly I went hunting for other smutty oneshots to add to my "Marked for Later" fics. For the first time in AGES. Like. Um. Holy shit????
[Ramblings about my "Inuyasha history post-2020" below cut. Tl;dr: I'm lowkey Shook that my love for Inuyasha and InuKag fics is finally, slowly coming back 🥹💕]
Here's the rundown: 2020 happened. I went into quarantine with my parents. I was determined to finally devour a BUNCH of Inuyasha fics I kept meaning to read, and at first I did with great gusto..... but..... as April 2020 crept along, my interest began to wane and depression seized a hold of me.
Then Yashahime was announced. The fandom imploded. I felt nothing. No interest, no worries, no intrigue. NOTHING. It would've scared me if I was capable of feeling it.
Oh eventually, I felt a mild amusement at all of the squabbling and ship wars and all that nonsense (and spawned a whole fucking series of memes as a result lmaooooo). But my love for the fandom/fics had more or less snuffed out. Which sucked for a number of reasons, not least of which were "shit, most of my WIPs are for this fandom fuckfuckfuckfuck" LMAO 🙃
Depressing shit aside, I dove back HARD into the Disney fanfic side of things, on top of other anime titles and old fandoms like Harry Potter. I moved on to other fandoms, partially due to feeling embittered at the Inuyasha fandom for already making my depression over my lack of interest EVEN WORSE with all the in-fighting over Yashahime (which btw, for the record, is NOT a particularly bad show. It's not a GOOD show, per se, I don't have any strong feelings for it either way, but it's NOT the Antichrist™ like fans were making it out to be, sheesh >.> It's just another mediocre sequel for a classic-but-not-particularly-amazing-original-series. Shocking, I know. Moving on)
The only thing keeping me sane about Inuyasha was watching it with my fiancé, from Nov. 2020-Sept. 2021. His delightful commentary breathed life into the series like you wouldn't BELIEVE lmao 🤣
Eventually.... I felt the desire to write again. But it was HARD. 😭
After Shameless was completed in April of 2020, I felt.... empty of Inuyasha fic writing. By a miracle, I managed to update my Big Three WIPs (An Unexpected Encounter -> June 2020; Inuyasha: Prince of Thieves -> July 2020 & Sept. 2022; and Shards of the Sea -> June 2021 & Sept. 2022), but the gaps between updates kept widening, and I only worked on them because they were already partially written/published. I even ended up archiving older ficlets into Tied Together and Bonds Across Time, but had to resist the urge to delete everything and start afresh SEVERAL times since 2021 (which, coincidentally, was around the time the fandom was tearing itself apart over Yashahime bullshit and by bullshit I mean innocuous junk people were losing their goddamn minds over ugh.... 😒)
The handful of other fics I punched out for other fandoms were small, and only posted briefly in the summers of 2020 and 2022.
The latter summer was thanks to my first InuKag written smut in 2 years: Sinful Symphonies.
So, yay! Finally getting a feel for writing again, both for Inuyasha and in general! But I still felt utterly detached from other Inuyasha fics, not because of the writers (are you KIDDING me, half of the reason it was hard to distance myself from the fandom was because of the AMAZING TALENT in this fandom ugggghhh 😭), but because of my personal, complicated feelings with the fandom and series as a whole.
But then I binge-watched the series by myself this May. And finally, decided to buckle down and read Freak Attraction, which I have been meaning to read LONG before 2020, and thus, it became my first Inuyasha bookmarked fic on AO3 in almost 3 years, and first "new" Inuyasha fave as whole since August 2021.
My last Inuyasha bookmarked fic on AO3 was on Nov. 1, 2020 (on ff.net, I read two small MirSan smut fics in August 2021, but these are outliers; I really could not bring myself to read more than those -.-).
My last InuKag bookmarked smut on AO3 was April 7, 2020.
My last REVIEWS I left for an Inuyasha fic (besides the aforementioned fics) were from June-August 2021 for a couple of updated faves (namely Keichanz's Iconic You Rescued Me, which was a ROLLERCOASTER OF FEELS, LEMME TELL YOU).
And now. NOW. AT LAST. THREE WHOLE YEARS after 2020 sucked the joy of Inuyasha fandom/fic from me.... I want to try again. I want to read more again.
Even if it's only a little bit, I would like to find joy here again. 🥺💕
