Worldbuilding Exercise #9
What are three factions/organizations that all have the same goal, but are completely different still via goals, aesthetics, behavior, or other?
How do these factions differ from each other? What makes them so alike? Do they know each other, and if so how does that typically go?
How do these groups recruit newer people? What would life be like in them?

Betrothal necklaces are a Northern Water Tribe custom, I know, but I'm fond of the idea of Zuko making a necklace for Katara--except he makes the band way looser and longer. Her mothers necklace is too important to her, so he makes his necklace's band longer so she can wear both at the same time. A good old choker+medallion necklace pairing.

Most Voted Choice: That becomes the imaginary games hub area, the place that the player keeps returning to. Things in the hub change each time the player returns, new characters arrive, old characters leave, and restricted areas gradually open up.
Second Most Popular: That is the tutorial area, where the player learns the basics about playing the game and the world they find themselves in.
Third ranking and below: These are the looping-branch areas. Players can choose to complete these areas in any order. Exploring them thoroughly can yield valuable resources, weapons, and information.
Zone with the Fewest Votes: This is the Final Boss Zone. The area is the bosses biography expanded across three dimensions. You see their childhood home, fight their friends, and then finally confront them in the seat of their power.

Worldbuilding questions to get the creative juices flowing 44
Theme: Creature/Animal Habitat & Behaviors
Tumblr media
What does the creature eat? How does it typically achieve this food? How long does it tend to spend on eating/finding food?
Does the creature have a set place it calls home? If so, what is it like? (Small underground den, cave, coral reef, a particular tree, etc.) How does the creature maintain this home?
If not, what does it do instead? If it sleeps, where does it sleep? Does it bring its food anywhere?
Does it migrate or travel often? If it migrates, why?
Does the creature have a sense of play? If so, what does play look like? Is it social? Does it play with other species, similar ones, prey?
Is the creature an apex predator or keystone species? Where does it lie on its world's food chain? Does it have any predators? Any prey?
How does the creature reproduce? If it has children, how many does it tend to have at once? Does it care for these children well?
Does it have any mating rituals? If so, what do those look like?
What does the creature's lifespan and life stages look like? How long does the creature live?
Does any humanoid/hyper intelligent species hunt this creature? What role does it play in its ecosystem?
What are some very specific behaviors to this creature?
(Howling, territory marking, hoarding, trinket gifting, photographic memory, strong scent, night vision, heatseeking, social anxiety, retractable claws, glows in the dark, breaths fire, can cast magic, tracks their prey forever, sheds all year round, etc.)

✨ the shrine of remembrance ✨
Thought by Duskwood historians to be a long forgotten place of worship this old cave seems to have been taken over by an overgrowth of plant life.
Tah-dah, finally finished the portal room and the connecting nether portal too! The first shot is the nether-side portal while the rest is the remains of the stronghold I consumed.

So now some world building with Mozenrath:
I like to imagine that Mozenrath and Aladdin are brothers. I know it's a super common idea that they're half brothers but years and years ago I stumbled across a headcanon that their mother was Destane's younger sister. She left the land of the Black Sand, lived in Agrabah, met Cassim, and the two married. Destane eventually found her and stole Mozenrath away. If I could find it, I'd link it here. But this was way way back in like 2008. Maybe even earlier.
But ever since finding that headcanon, that has been canon to me. I picture about a 3 year age gap between Mozenrath and Aladdin with Mozenrath being the elder one of course. I also like to imagine that Mozenrath has always had an affinity for magic. He wasn't doing this type of magic as a super young child before Destane kidnapped him but the potential was there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The home he lived in while he was a young child and him with Aladdin (albeit a bit older because dalle3 didn't get them the exact ages I imagined).

A slightly updated look to his wardrobe but the ai has a really tough time with him so that's mildly depressing.

Some interior design for his bedroom and throne room:

Some of Sadira in his citadel (because of course I'm going to add her. This is a Sadira x Mozenrath blog):

And since I've already included Sadira in this, I think I'll toss in the oc children I'm kind of playing with for them because why not.
This is their son, Malik. He is the elder by two years and just like his parents, he's gifted in sorcery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is their daughter, Sarina, and just like her parents and elder brother she too is gifted in sorcery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the idea of both children getting Sadira's complexion and Mozenrath's hair color. Sarina is almost a carbon copy of her mother but for her hair color which she got straight up from her father.
Will probably post more later but yeah. Once again, this was all made using Bing's Image Creator supported by Dall-E3.

Fun question for you! What architecture inspired your take on heaven? I was getting hints of ancient Rome with how the bath houses and fountains are described. However, I'm really curious and I've gotta know!
I sorta referenced this a while back but I can be specific about the architecture now !
ABM Heaven is, actually, mostly inspired by colonial Latin America, particularly south-central Mexico — the painted tiles and the sunny colors of the houses (all so smushed together that they resemble one) and hidden gardens and balconies. Rosier's house, for ex, is a house I stayed at for a little while in Mexico. This is what I mean (!):
Tumblr media
I was envisioning a typical Mexican town plaza at the center of Heaven, actually. Why? Because it's funny, and also basing Heaven's architecture on a colonial force is definitely saying something I think sksk
Though I focus on the above, Heaven is a mix of a lot of architectural style though! One time I visited Spain (which, as you might realize, relates to my interest in colonial architecture) and I found the clash of architecture on the older streets really interesting (because of Spain being Roman, then under Muslim rule, then Christian (etc)). On the note of mixing Rome, Islam, and Christianity:
The observatory was inspired by Islamic architecture.
The cathedral was pure gothic Christian.
The colosseum was, obviously, Roman.
Oh, and I was actually inspired by Turkish baths for the bathhouse, though Turkish baths come from Roman baths (allegedly) so the connection makes sense!
Michael's house is literally a typical Latin American house with a flat roof and a bunch of random stuff on top.
The architecture question for Heaven was really interesting when I was drafting. I wanted it to be a mix of stuff -- almost nonsensical -- to make it feel familiar but still strange. So yeah it's a little Roman, but it's a little bit of everything.
Very much any architecture that the humans will invent, the angels have already done it, I think.

Fictional Religion Brainstorming Ideas
(Remember: you don’t have to use or think of each and every one of these in order to create a religion for your story. These are just prompts to get you thinking/help if you’re feeling stuck <3)
setting affects the beliefs of the people living there. If they live in a harsh climate, their beliefs will reflect that. Gods and other spiritual forces are often used as personifications of natural forces, so think about the relationship your people have to their environment
What is their definition of good and evil? Is it more spiritual or moral? What are the rules/guidelines? What (if anything) is considered a sin/transgressions?
Do they believe in gods? Spirits? The soul? What separates each of these things? What do they represent?
Is there any type of “divine justice”? What (if anything) happens to “bad” people? What must you do to be redeemed?
What are their traditions, and how have they evolved over time? How do they vary?
How much influence does this religion your society? Is it something people view as traditions that they practice because of the cultural significance? Or is it more all consuming and ingrained in almost every aspect of life? Maybe they’re a group who’s outcasted or discriminated against, if so why? Where do they differ from the mainstream beliefs and why is that such a dividing issue?
How were these beliefs passed down and recorded? Are they written down in a book like the Bible? Passed down through manuscripts and scrolls? Word of mouth and storytelling? Who has access to these records? Have any been lost to time or altered? Who would want to alter or control access to them and why?
What do these people find to be important? people find meaning in things that are significant to their ways of life. For an example, a society that centers around agriculture might rely heavily on time of year, seasons, weather, etc. and base a lot of their culture and religion off that. They also might celebrate harvests, have rituals meant to encourage growth, view crops as rewards/blessings from the Gods, etc. Likewise, insects and droughts might be seen as punishment, or a sign the spiritual realm isn’t satisfied.
What is the significance of prayer, mantras, meditation, hymns, ritual, etc? Is it an attempt to commune with the divine? Seek wisdom and guidance? Show respect or reverence?
How does your religion view death? Is it taboo or something you celebrate? What about the afterlife (if there is one)
How is your religion spread, and how easy is it to convert? Is it an isolated, closed religion unique to a specific group(s)? is the goal to spread their beliefs to everyone? Can anyone join at any time or is there an initiation process? What (if anything) is kept a secret and why?
