My words betray my thoughts, my very essence of being, “we don’t need to put a label on this as long as I can have you”

a flash of something across his face is unrecognizable to me, as if there’s no correct answer. As if the very words from my swollen lips put his mind into a tizzy. To consider it would be to betray his ideals, his upbringing, his mother. To deny it would be to betray his image.

Scarred fingers dance along my sides rhythmically as he wracked his brain for an answer. I wish I could answer for him in his hesitation. That his prolonged silence is breaking my heart and that I didn’t mean it. How I’d lie and take it back, if it meant continuing to love him , even in secrecy.

c!Wilbur loveposting day because it's his day.

I think it'd be funny if he didn't actually like card games. Like, he travelled a lot, so he knows quite a few. He knows some card tricks. He knows a few sleight of hand things that just came from making his way through the world.

But when it comes to actual games to play with his friends, he's more of a board game man. He likes to argue about move legalities or gets caught up creating an elaborate story for whatever is happening in the game. This is a man who has created a tragic backstory for his family in Life and has definitely done more world building for Settlers of Catan than the necessary.

Or he likes darts. He likes the mix of skill and casualness. He likes that it allows for a lot of chatting. He likes that sometimes a lucky throw can fuck everyone's day up.

Or maybe he's a word puzzle man when no one is around. Maybe quiet mornings, sitting in the sun and chewing on the end of his pen, is more his speed.

Which makes the whole getting nothing but a deck of cards in limbo more fun. It's not something he hates It's not something he loves. It's inherently nothing good or bad. It's just a way to fill endless hours.
