The "Luffy's fruit is a Zoan" reveal/retcon was extremely controversial when 1044 was first released; do you think Oda did a good job foreshadowing it?
yes!! it addresses a lot of idle questions i had about luffy's powers for quite some time (while also raising a ton more, of course, but that's the nature of one piece).
(all of my thoughts here and on gear 5 in general owe some credit to @grainjew, who has been my main discussion partner on this topic)
luffy's fruit has always been, from what we've seen, kind of weird for a paramecia? obviously since the categorization of 'paramecia' is sort of a grab bag and a lot less well-defined than logias or zoans, that's kind of a hard claim to make, but generally speaking, most of the paramecia users we see throughout the series do not have their powers always on. (the strongest counter-example i could think of to this trend is brook, and even that is one i think you can argue.) luffy's power is way more passive, in the sense that he doesn't have to activate it- it's just there, always. even seastone and seawater do not make luffy not rubber, they just sap his energy and stop him from stretching himself, as we see as early as arlong park.
that is weird! what we see of most other paramecias is that they have to use their powers intentionally, even when those powers do involve transforming their body in some way, like with mr. 1 or alvida. there's a whole plot in dressrosa about knocking a specific paramecia user unconscious so she'll lose her grip on her power and it'll disappear. luffy will stretch when he is asleep, when he is underwater, and without knowing he's doing it. he's always rubber.
so luffy is weird for a paramecia, though not completely unprecedented. his power has always seemed to me to be... almost logia adjacent, in the sense that he's made from a specific material and all his powers are based on being that material, but that doesn't quite track either. aside from the fact that the thing he's composed of is tangible and, again, he can't turn it off, he clearly has access to a greater level of complexity in his transformations than logias do (whose devil fruit powers seem to be basically a binary system).
which actually leads me to compare him to chopper, who is the zoan we know the best, and who, conveniently, also ate a version of the hito hito no mi.
i think the way luffy and chopper interact with their powers is actually very similar. much like luffy, chopper was fundamentally altered by his consumption of a devil fruit in a way he cannot return from. he can still look like a normal reindeer, but he can never actually be one, because the most important trait his devil fruit gave him was human sentience. and he would still have that if you put him in seastone, he just wouldn't be able to transform. similarly, luffy had his body fundamentally altered by his fruit in a manner he does not seem to be capable of even temporarily reversing. he can't make himself not rubber any more than chopper can return himself to being a normal reindeer.
like chopper, luffy's power progression has been based around finding new ways to transform his body and force it into new and more powerful forms. his gears are roughly comparable to chopper's points. that is zoan stuff! chopper is the main other person we see interact with his fruit in that specific way. so, yeah, i actually do think it does make sense for luffy's power to have actually always been a zoan. at the very least, it makes more sense than him being a paramecia, to me.
however, having said that, i also don't think it's as straightforward as luffy just being a zoan instead of a paramecia. we see that the awakening of his fruit definitely has both paramecia and zoan qualities, since he's transforming both himself and the environment around him, as well as other people. (the wiki puts this down to him being a mythical zoan but i just don't think that's true. kaidou is also a mythical zoan and he is completely baffled by what he's seeing.)
i made a bunch of jokes in discord about luffy being devil fruit nonbinary while i was reading this chapter- there's three genders and you have to pick one, and you can't just go switching it up, etc- and i do think that what luffy's fruit indicates is that the sorting system of devil fruits itself is imperfect. outliers do exist that don't fit cleanly between the lines- which we already knew! just look at katakuri.

Time passage on Earth and in Hell
Hello!
Today I come to you with a little thought experiment and I don't know yet what will come of it, but I wanted to share it with you anyway. These are not serious calculations, just a curiosity based on the information we have. (Also, one insignificant spoiler for ch5).
Let's see what the difference is between time in Hell and time on Earth!
Here are those bits of information:
1. The last time we know Solomon was seen was 311 hellish years ago.
Tumblr media
2. Solomon lived in Hell for over a century (in hellish years, also). If he lived for two centuries or more, it would probably be reffered differently, so let's assume that he lived between 100 (the least) and 150 (the most, because 151 will be rounded to less than two centuries) years in hell itself.
Tumblr media
3. The game was released in 2023, we don't know what the current year is in the game, so let's assume the release year is the year we, a Descendant of Solomon, are yeeted to hell.
4. It is assumed that King Solomon ruled Israel around 970-931 BCE.
Tumblr media
Source: Wikipedia
Now that we have the numbers, it's time for math. Gusion, close your eyes, heresy will happen. For us, the best solution is the smallest time difference, so we are taking the most convenient numbers.
Let's assume that the last time Solomon was seen was just before his disappearance (this will extend the time of his stay in hell and reduce the difference between hellish and earthly years). Then these 311 years, when we add his 150 years of life, will give us a total of 461 years.
This means that Solomon appeared in Hell 461 years ago.
Now we count Earth years. Solomon had already been king for some time when he summoned Satan. He doesn't look old enough to be taken at the end of his reign, so (also very generously, we want to reduce this number as much as possible) let's assume it was midway through his reign. This gives us ~951 BCE. Add this to the current years, and voila!
2,974 years passed between Solomon's disappearance and our coming to Hell.
This roughly matches the information about Solomon on wikia.
Tumblr media
Source: WHB Wiki
Now we just need to calculate the ratio.
2974 / 461 = 6,451, we can round it up to ~6,5 years.
One (1) year in Hell would be 6 years and 6 months on Earth.
Considering how often the symbolism of 6 appears, it wouldn't surprise me. Especially since some time difference is likely, because during all events the devils react like "ah, yes, humans should celebrate something now", as if these holiday dates were not so obvious to them.
Do I believe this difference is the real one? No. Although I would like to. That would add flavor.
It is possible that there will not even be any time difference, or it will be so slight that we will barely notice it. Reason? Minhyeok.
Even if MC returns to him after a year spent in Hell (which is not much, considering how much have to be done there), it will be a long time for him. If the MC's goal is to come back to him at the end, he can't be an old grandpa.
I wonder if I have missed any information, if so, please let me know! I tried to pick up what I could, but it's not easy to fly through the story when what you're looking for are so small bits and pieces of information. Again, just think of it as a little curiosity. Hope you had fun!

Bestiaryposting Results: Choglaem
First, it seems that Tumblr's search function is flawed in such a way that just searching the tag doesn't actually get all of the results. So if you drew something for this round and it's not in this post, let me know and I'll put it in a reblog. Same applies to previous (and future) rounds.
Anyway, it's now time to look at the results for the Choglaem! Anyone who doesn't know what that means is encouraged to look at previous posts in this series, collected at https://maniculum.tumblr.com/bestiaryposting .
And here's the link to the entry people are working from:
Now, let's get into it. As before, these are presented roughly in the order that people posted them. (I'm going to go through the tag on Tumblr's regular search, then again on the alternate search method someone suggested, so any that only show up on the alternate source are going to be at the end.)
Tumblr media
@embervoices (link to post here) decided to show that the Choglaem is bigger than all living things on the earth by... having it fight Godzilla. Perfect. Inspired. Love it. No notes.
Tumblr media
@mobileleprechaun (link to post) has helpfully labelled their drawing for us, which I enjoy. Also the interpretation that the tongue through the blowhole is a lure used by an underwater predator is a good one -- honestly, putting something this large in the water just feels more plausible, you know? In their tags, mobileleprechaun describes this as "sort of a dinosaur snake tsuchinoko", and I had to Google that last one, so let me show you the best result from that ...
Tumblr media
(If anyone else needed that word defined, it's a creature from Japanese folklore that does actually look a lot like a fat snake, but I'm pretty sure it's not just a fat snake. There's a (disappointingly brief) Wikipedia article about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsuchinoko)
Anyway, the drawing is great! I have no idea why Saddam Hussein is there; you'll have to ask mobileleprechaun.
Tumblr media
@coolest-capybara (link to post here) has given her Choglaem wings to aid in causing the air to become turbulent. The medieval stylization is pretty dead-on, I have to say; I swear I've seen those trees before. And I think this Choglaem may actually be the closest to the drawing in the Aberdeen Bestiary out of all the submissions we got, so coolest-capybara is clearly quite good at thinking like a medieval artist. The post linked above contains a brief explanation of her design choices and also a link to the medieval illustration that elephant is based on.
Tumblr media
@silverhart-makes-art (link to post here) has once more done a very realistic-looking depiction of this week's beaſt. According to their post, part of their inspiration was an oarfish -- and I have to say this is pretty believable as a terrestrial version of an oarfish, so well done. I'm impressed by this one, which manages to look cool and dangerous but also kinda cute -- I think the tongue-through-the-blowhole part of the description makes all of them look a bit goofy in an endearing sort of way. The post linked above describes their design decisions, including a brief diversion over round pupils vs. slit pupils in snakes.
Silverhart also mentions that the nonsense-names I'm using sound like the names of mythical animals in a fantasy novel, so I feel I should confess what my process for randomly generating these names was. I've got a Goblin conlang that's been sitting in my pile of works-in-progress for years; I just fed the phonology from that into Zompist's gen program (link here), then picked out several dozen of my favorite results. So that's why they sound like kinda-plausible words.
Tumblr media
@sweetlyfez (link to post here) has drawn us a Choglaem who is having problems. Or, I don't know, maybe it meant to knot itself up like that; who am I to judge? Either way I think it's cute. Just look at that face. A brief overview of her design decisions is included in the linked post; I think the chicken crest is a pretty sensible call given the source material.
Tumblr media
@pomrania (link to post here) has made some creative choices with their version. I like how they've decided that if the Choglaem kills with its tail, the tail should have something at the end rather than just... you know. A tail. That tracks. "The tail ends in a fist", specifically, however, was not something I saw coming. The crest looking like an emo hairstyle is funny, I think, and the angry elephant is great. The expression on the Choglaem's face is suspect to me; it looks like it's having too much fun with this. The linked post above includes an early draft, and itself links to a post with a detailed account of the artist's thought process and some additional sketches.
Tumblr media
@miapcain (link to post here) has... wait, hold on, look at that border. That's gorgeous. Had to acknowledge that before moving to the inside of the frame. Anyway, Mia has given her Choglaem legs, which might seem odd for something described as a "snake", but actually isn't out of the ordinary for a medieval bestiary -- the authors tended to play a bit more fast and loose with their categorization of animals than we do today, and there are indeed examples of animals with legs being called "serpents" or "snakes". (I assume the artist knows this, I just want to share that with the rest of the audience.) Anyway, the drawing style is great; I like the stylized landscape and the muted colors. That elephant is definitely modeled after a medieval elephant -- I swear I've seen it before -- but I couldn't tell you which one offhand. Anyway. Love the vibes here. Not sure why the tongue is a vine, but it's a cool design feature.
Tumblr media
@rautavaara (link to post here) has gone an entirely different direction with this one, and I can kind of see the steps. Snakelike creature, kills with its tail... what if the tail it kills with is a snake. As a result, we have this chimeric "bovid-lion-snake beast", as the artist describes. It definitely stands out from the crowd, and looks menacing as hell. Rautavaara continues with the cool frames and stylization, and I continue to appreciate them. Kind of an art-deco feel on this one.
Tumblr media
@karthara (link to post here) gives us a big snake with a somewhat aquatic-looking fin-crest, grappling with an elephant in a very believable manner. That is a quality depiction of a snake fighting an elephant, no mistake. And like I said before, a kind of aquatic look feels right for something this big. The linked post contains a short description of the design decisions.
Tumblr media
@gradling (link to post here) apparently also had the thought of "if it kills with its tail there should be something dangerous on the tail", and made the excellent decision to give the Choglaem a thagomizer. That's amazing and I love it. The crest also looks quite good. I don't have anything else to add here. Thagomizer. Brilliant.
Tumblr media
@moustawott (link to post here) has done this very cool, kind of celestial-looking Choglaem. I like that its pose is evoking an infinity symbol. And, of course, it is in its natural habitat:
the skies
A brief explanation of design choices can be found in the post linked above.
Tumblr media
@treesurface (link to post here) has managed to really evoke the size of this thing even though it's the only thing on the page, which I think is quite good. Also, the brief discussion of their design choices in the post linked is pretty interesting, and honestly that's what I want to highlight for this piece, so go check that out.
Tumblr media
@scarlettbookworm (link to post here) has given us an elephant apparently in the moment when it realizes it's about to be attacked by a Choglaem. In order to allow their Choglaem to lurk despite its size, they've given it camo-pattern scales, which I think is clever. There's a pretty good explanation of their design choices in the linked post, which I think is worth reading.
Tumblr media
@cheapsweets (link to post here) apparently did this with a fountain pen, which I think is very cool. I like the oarfish-inspired crest, and the very menacing face, and the elephant being ambushed. However -- and I realize I've said this like three times in a row now -- you should check out the linked post to read the artist's explanation of their design decisions. They describe it pretty thoroughly and I think it's more worthwhile to read their account of what they've drawn than it is to read mine.
Tumblr media
@strixcattus (link to post here) posted this while I was typing this round-up, so this will be the last result from Normal Tumblr Search. They've given us another "there should be something dangerous on the end of its tail" interpretation and drawn their Choglaem with an ankylosaur-style club, which I think is excellent. As per usual, their post includes an amazingly detailed modern-naturalist-style description of the animal in question, which I always enjoy. It's exactly my jam. (That bit about where the largest Choglaem lives... is that a reference to something? It feels familiar.)
All right, I'm now looking through "#choglaem" on @findtags's search system, and it is a bit different, oddly. There are fewer results than in the regular Tumblr search -- only six of the above images show up -- but it also has one that doesn't show up on the normal search! Dammit tumblr.
Tumblr media
@hairycarrot ... whom Tumblr will not let me tag? what the hell? [edit: the tag works now that i’ve posted this, but the editor seemed to think this blog wasn’t real] um... (link to post here). Anyway, they've done this neat stylized thing that kind of looks like pastels? I don't know art, that's just what it looks like to me and I like it. I also enjoy the Choglaem being coiled up like a spring -- I know it's because it's a constrictor and showing it in coils is a good way to communicate that, but I still like the look. Very pleasant-looking depiction of an elephant being ambushed by a giant snake.
All right, time for the reveal. Here's the Aberdeen Bestiary drawing:
Tumblr media
Yep. That snake has legs and wings. So everyone who added limbs was in an appropriately medieval mindset. It doesn't seem to have a crest, though, and I don't see any blowholes. And it's attacking with its bite more than with its tail. Honestly, I think y'all read the entry much more closely than this artist did.
But maybe they were also working with more preconceptions.
Because you see.
This is the entry for the Dragon.
Yeah, that's not what I was expecting from a bestiary description of a dragon either.
The interesting thing about it to me is that it's absolutely not what you generally see in fictional depictions of dragons in medieval literature. The bestiary entry is very firm on the idea that it's not venomous, it's a constrictor, it kills with its tail -- and most medieval dragons I've read about are highly venomous. Some of them aren't even that large; they're dangerous for their venom rather than their size. So maybe this is a bit of medieval mythbusting -- "no, guys, real dragons actually don't have venom at all".
And yes, this means there's historical precedent for the green & black dragons in D&D; dragons being so venomous they spit, breathe, or blow out poison instead of having to inject it with a bite is a pretty common motif in medieval dragon stories. I think a lot of people think of those as just variants on the classic fire-breathing version depicted by the red dragon, but actually there aren't that many fire-breathing dragons in medieval stories as far as I remember. (I would do some research on this, but I wanted to have this posted like two hours ago, so you're just getting what I remember off the top of my head instead of proper sources, sorry.) To my understanding, the classic fantasy dragon breathes fire because Smaug breathed fire. And Smaug breathed fire because the dragon in Beowulf breathed fire. But the Beowulf dragon isn't actually representative in that regard; the venom-spitting dragon is more common as far as I've seen. (No word on lightning or cold, sorry blue and white dragons.)
Anyway, there's probably room to reintroduce the constrictor dragon that kills with its tail. What colors haven't already been used up in the various monster manuals, splatbooks, &c.?
I'm rambling. End of post.

Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi Adventures
So, I got the Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi for my birthday this year. and it was only in September that I decided to activate it (I was hesitant because I know Tamagotchi can be needy and can't be turned off). So here's my so-far roughly one month journey!
Tumblr media
Here he is- Base Sora on day 1. I took care of him, played games, and generally fiddled about with what I could do. This was my first ever Tamagotchi, so it was a new experience to me. You fight Shadow Heartless, Dusk Nobodies and Flood Unversed occasionally with the tap of the 'A' button. They didn't happen super frequently so I was fine fending them off.
Unfortunately things didn't go well. I became ill with stomach flu the night after. The manual says it takes roughly 49 hours for Sora to change/evolve. and well...
Tumblr media
When I was able to move again... I woke up to... uh... Heartless Sora. Everything remained the same, except the food and treat (Paopu and Icecream) turned into Heart and !. Heart being that you well- fed him hearts, and ! meaning he attacked you (I think... he vanished then appeared closer and waved his arms about). I felt really bad that my first Tamagotchi basically 'died' because of things I couldn't control. But I enjoyed my time with Heartless Sora; and after a few days, Kairi found him and saved him! Very cute 2 bit scene. Back to Normal Sora. I found an issue. You see... I'm more nocturnal; and this Tamagotchi... wasn't. He woke up at 9AM and slept at 10PM; meaning he didn't get the right care from me.. but I figured I could change the time to suit me- and did. Now he wakes up at 12PM and sleeps at 2AM- same as me. Next evo was a surprise! Sora introduced me to (and trusted me to care?) Riku!
Tumblr media
This was when I found out each character/evo has different sleeping schedules. Riku would sleep late and wake late (I'm thankful it wasn't early due to the whole Dawn motif because I didn't want to change the clock too much again). They also have their own unique cutscenes, with Riku primarily featuring Mickey. Not much happened, and I showed Riku to Riku(My Riku... the cockatiel- named after... Riku). But He left and Sora returned. At this point I wanted to aim for Roxas- or Ventus (I'm sad there's no Vanitas). So I miiight have looked up a quick wiki to see how to get the characters. "Wow that's cheating" you might say.. and yeah- probably... the issue is that I didn't get Roxas.
Tumblr media
Instead, Sora 'grew up' into KHII Sora. I was interested to see what kind of outfit or character I could get to show up, so I continued with normal care.
On the 28th of September... Sora.. ever the festive fellow...
Tumblr media
Donned his Santa outfit.
I found it kinda funny, but kept him up with Normal care. I was starting to forget him (I got a little drawer handle I put him on during the evening on my right hand ride next to my monitor, and during the day he's on the couch arm- I don't take him out because I'm scared I'll lose the Tamagotchi somewhere). So He was getting upset/hungry; but if he beeped I knew he needed something. He Unlocked/locked the Keyhole to Halloween/Christmas Town, then flew off in the Gummiship, returning as Normal Sora. After 49 hours, he once again reintroduced me to Riku. having forbidden knowledge, I knew I could turn Riku into Dark Riku. and tried.
I. Felt. Awful.
I know they're just 2bit pixelart on the screen... but Riku has a special place in my heart (I named my grumpy, gay cockatiel after him!) so me... just basically neglecting Riku? it hurt :(
Tumblr media
After this. He did not turn into Dark Riku. He left. just straight-up.
Sora flew back in on the Gummiship and my quest to get Roxas/Ventus continued.
But I was surprised when I came back after an outing to find... Sora turned into a fish
Tumblr media
Wiki says he's from 'Bad care', but I don't remember giving him subpar treatment, and catering to what he wanted- so I'm baffled. He did come with an Aerial/Sebastian scene, though- so that was cute. He didn't stay for long and locked Atlantica's Keyhole, returning as Basic Sora.
Again- I tried to get Roxas, but instead got KHII Sora again; so I thought I could maybe get Axel or Xion; since they're included in the KHII evo list.
Nope. Christmas Sora again. Oh well- He does love Christmas.
I'll update this if I get anything interesting. I know you can get Xehanort- I recognised his Silhouette on the manual, so maybe I'll get him one day.
I'm still waiting on Roxas..

GUYS.
HEAR ME OUT.
The eggs are sorted into groups roughly based on when they arrived, right? The first batch of eggs in group one, Pomme and Tallulah in group two, Sunny, Empanada, and Pepito in group three, and Richarlyson as the outlier?
I'm willing to bet my money Group Two's [redacted egg] is the Unknown Egg whose journal Cellbit found on Day 161. It fits with the grouping (the Unknown Egg was lost just like Tallulah and Pomme, around the same time), and nothing has been heard from them since, so they could easily be dead.
Group Two is also called the Department of Subsistence Monitoring. As in, having the bare minimum to survive. And for a forgotten egg, lost to months alone, wouldn't that fit perfectly?
Also, the egg's final journal entry was the definition of foreboding if I ever heard it.
"I accepted my fate. But I'm scared of being forgotten."
This seems to heavily imply the Unknown Egg is now dead, fitting with Group Two's [deceased redacted], right? And the timing fits, the (few) details we have seem to match up.
Just, like, think about it.

HI so i'm thinking about burning a CD with live versions of mountain goats songs, however i am not well-versed in the world of the mountain goats so. what would you recommend? (the CD can be up to 80 minutes long :))
YEAHHHH so as you're probably aware the world of mountain goats live recordings is unimaginably expansive and i am by most standards an amateur at traversing it BUT i do have lots of advice :D
there really is no such thing as a bad mountain goats show. even the ones with awful crowds or where the band isn't doing so great are bound to have some very very bright spots. at the same time, the mountain goats have a 30+ year touring history, with lineups varying from john alone, to the full four-piece current permanent ensemble, to the five-piece current touring ensemble, to on one remarkable occasion john with a medieval a cappella quartet, to absolutely everywhere in between, so everyone is bound to have their own tastes.
as such, a really good way to find tmg shows is to just look through the mountain goats wiki! they have over 1500 shows listed, the general majority of which have archive.org recordings. they also have every live show any particular song was played at listed-- most of my favorite shows i've found through looking through all the various performances of my favorite songs. there are also a lot of great recs over on r/themountaingoats. but here are some of my personal favorites:
the bottom of the hill shows!! the bottom of the hill is a small venue in san francisco that the mountain goats have played at quite a few times over the years, and for some combination of reasons the shows there always turn out ridiculously special. any mountain goats fan will point a new tmg live listener to the bottom of the hill. the rather infamous recording of no children sung entirely by the crowd took place there in 2006. the recording of california song i sent you was from a show there in 2014-- which by the way contains the entirety of transmissions from horace (an early tape that was later released as part of the compilation ghana), which is why there might be a lot of songs you don't recognize, and also why they played so many fan favorites to close it out (as compensation)(denton AND you were cool. WHAT A NIGHT). everything from no children on in that recording is pure gold. the show there from the next night is roughly the same in content but the rendition of the best ever death metal band in denton they close with is one of my favorite live tracks of all time. and finally a show there from 2008 was videoed in full by paste magazine!! (here is the archive.org version for audio files) this is SUCH a good show oh my god. the two really standout numbers in my opinion are not actually by the mountain goats-- one is ace of base's defining europop number the sign, which has been. drastically reimagined by the mountain goats. the bottom of the hill performance is punctuated with stories about john's own personal history with the song (which, if that appeals, check out this version too), and is just generally iconic. and also intense. SPEAKING OF INTENSE the other is houseguest-- which is a song by franklin bruno (who john was/is in a band called the extra glens/glenns/lens with) that john has played live quite a bit. this particular performance is really just my favorite because you get to watch john stalk around and lean out over the crowd like a vulture or perhaps some kind of crow. for the audio alone honestly i would recommend the version from this 2008 show. (fun fact about me personally the first time my mom ever left baby me alone with my dad overnight was to go to this exact show!! i am still mad at her for not taking me)
the fall 2005 tour!! the really cool thing about this tour is that at the time, the mountain goats were still comprised of just john darnielle and peter hughes (bassist), so typically live shows were very stripped down and a far cry from the aforementioned five-person full band they tour as now. but on this tour, their opener, the prayers and tears of arthur digby sellers, joined them for a few songs each set, which meant they had much fuller band (DRUMS!! MORE GUITAR!!) while also still being very much sunset tree-era mountain goats and BOY is it special. highlights include: the version of tollund man from toronto which doesn't feature the larger band, but john does incorporate a mangled paraphrase of the final couplet of shakespeare's sonnet 73 (this thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong / to love that well which thou must leave ere long) into the song; the performance of palmcorder yajna from the same night where john replaces the "send somebody out for soda" line with "send somebody out for ATIVAN;" and of course, against pollution knitting factory halloween 2005 (audio). you probably noticed me posting the youtube video of this every day of october. it's my second favorite tmg live recording of all time (after bottom of the hill california song). john is in a priest costume which adds the most je ne sais quoi ever to the song (which is about going to church and shooting a guy. amongst other things). the video and audio are not clear at all but you must understand that is what makes this performance SO. it's SOOOO. in conclusion:

(do christians have high holidays. i'm so jewish i'm sorry)
the webster hall 2009 show!! this show's from the life of the world to come tour which is why there are so many songs named after bible verses (unsure how familiar you are with the life of the world to come but i feel like it has some you vibes). they were touring with violinist owen pallet at the time which means we get going to bristol & hebrews 11:14 with string accompaniment!!!! this show literally never fails but the absolute highlights for me are deuteronomy 2:10 (although deuteronomy 2:10 is one of my favorite songs in the entire mountain goats canon so it's rare to come across a version i dislike), enoch 18:14 (which is actually an unreleased outtake from lotwtc-- the version you see online the most is from the lotwtc film but this one is full-band and prefaced by a long john story about video games)(if the latter appeals, i'd check out thank you mario), quito (which is probably best appreciated as part of the larger we shall all be healed album but the full-band version here SHINES), and of course full band going to georgia!!! i understand solo going to georgia purists so so well and there really is nothing like shouting the words back to just john and his guitar but there is SOMETHING in full band going to georgia that i suspect is rather close to real actual apotheosis. if the former appeals more though i am emotionally attached to the version from last august because i was there (one of only 7 times he's played it since 2012!) and it was the best day of my life but objectively this 2007 version is probably better.
also!! i've done something very similar with a tape! it's probably the most care i've ever put into a tracklist and remains one of my favorite tapes i've ever made-- finding tracks for it is how i found most of what i just recommended :) here's the setlist:
Tumblr media
ignore the blank spot i tried to put in abandoned flesh from the aforementioned august show i went to but it turned out really bad for some reason so i wanted to put in shower from the show two days before john got married but then i forgot. anyways YEAH THAT'S ABOUT IT! lmk if you want more specific reqs or about any mountain goats thoughts ever anytime :DDD

is johnny homo/transphobic or not, im seeing a lot of people claiming that he is and bashing him for that
No lmfao He's neither of those things. People wanna hate him so bad, but they're getting their information from thrice removed Twitter banter based on lines from non-canon games they probably haven't even played. Just out there stirrin the shit pot. It's like if people suddenly decided Ky was homophobic because he's very likely catholic.
There's this exchange from one of the Johnny routes in XX (which isn't even a canon game):
Bridget: 約束したじゃないですか! Hey, you promised you'd listen to me! Johnny: くっ……このジョニー、レイディとの約束は裏切れねぇ。 Argh... I can't break a promise made to a woman. Bridget: ……ウチ男ですけど。 ...I'm a guy. Johnny: た、助かった…… Oh, well in that case...
The translation here is accurate. However, if we're going to call Johnny transphobic for this exchange then we're going to have to call about half the cast transphobic since Bridget has a lot of equally unfortunate interactions like this throughout XX.
There's this interaction from Bridget's arcade route too, which I think is the one people usually point to for Johnny being transphobic:
Bridget: ……ああ、危なかった。負けるかと思った。どうしたんですか?途中から剣筋が急に鈍りましたけど……。 ...Whew, that was close! For a minute there, I thought I was gonna lose that one. Hey, what's wrong with you? You suddenly went limp right in the middle of the fight... Johnny: このジョニー一生の不覚だ……。おまえ……男だろ! Ahh... Johnny... What have you done... You.... You're a guy, aren't you! Bridget: ええ。この格好にはちょっと訳がありまして。 Sure am. This appearance... Well, it's kind of a long story. Johnny: この俺としたことが男を口説くとは……。もういいから、帰ってくれ。 I can't believe I just tried to seduce another man... Look, you should just go home and forget about all this. Bridget: 剣を向けて来たのはそちらですよ? Hey! You're the one who stuck your sword in my face! Johnny: ……悪かった。一つだけ頼む。このことはくれぐれも他言無用にな。 ...I'm sorry. I just have one request. Whatever you do...Don't tell anyone about this. Bridget: ……ほんと、変な人ですね。 ...What a weirdo.
This official translation is pretty accurate. The exchange between these two here isn't good, I will admit. But we also need to remember that the XX series of games had at least 3 different writers, it isn't canon. Johnny doesn't act like this outside of a few parts of XX.
There weren't scripts on the GG wiki for the XX Accent Core Plus arcade routes, so I'm not sure how Johnny is in that game. Probably roughly the same as in XX though.
I also couldn't find any lines from him towards Testament or Venom that were worse than anything anyone else says to them. Johnny does use he/him pronouns for Testament in the localization, but in Japanese he doesn't seem to use pronouns for them at all (which is relatively common in Japanese in general anyway).
In summary: Basically if it's from any of the games from the GGXX line just throw it out the window. "He would not say that" The Game.
If he says something bad towards Testament, Venom, or Bridget that's in one of the canon games and I missed it: send it to me.
Here are the scripts I went through for this:
General VS mode quotes: https://guiltygear.fandom.com/wiki/Johnny/Quotes
X Plus script: https://guiltygear.fandom.com/wiki/Guilty_Gear_X_Plus_script
XX script: https://guiltygear.fandom.com/wiki/Guilty_Gear_XX_script
Bonus line from XX where the localization team made an... interesting... choice translating "dandy" as "studmaster." He's saying this to Bridget during one of the Johnny arcade routes. (this line doesn't prove anything either way, I just thought it was too funny not to share lol)
Johnny: ダンディなお兄さん…… ……と呼んでくれれば何でも聞いてやるぜ? Call me 'Studmaster'... and I'll listen to whatever you have to say.

additional info on sizes re: mukuro and junko.
i originally had them both at 32 band size - 32A for mukuro and 32DD for junko.
and then realized that the wiki has the chest size in inches for some of the characters (i was looking for clothes fit reasons again, don't judge me) - it doesn't for junko, but it does for mukuro.
mukuro's 31 inches, which would round up to 32.
which means probably they're both roughly a 30 band size (or a 28 if we want to go by the art and not have mukuro be a size a).
let's assume 28, given how scrawny they are based on their weight.
this would put mukuro at a 28C and junko at a 28DDDD/F. (there's roughly a four inch difference between the two.)
if we keep at 30 for a band size, mukuro would be a 30A and junko would be a 30DD.
research suggests that junko has a fifty/fifty shot of having constant back, neck, or shoulder pain just from how big her boobs are.
so, uh, the potential for nonbinary icon junko enoshima to have chronic pain is. a possibility.
they would also make it harder for her to breathe, particularly while exercising, which would further contribute to ultimate analyst junko enoshima could probably do all of this martial arts stuff she's learned but can't do it very long because not only does she not have the muscle mass, she can't breathe either.
being junko is suffering!

All the chapter scripts for Triangle Strategy are now up on the wiki! The scripts should contain essentially all of the text from the game, with the exception of some UI and other not-dialogue things.
Long-winded list + rambling about what I still need to clean up under the cut:
I haven't touched the mid-battle dialogue yet for the most part. It's all pasted in every chapter, but I've pretty much just slapped a "This dialogue is triggered if [condition unknown]" label on all of the lines and called it a day.
The dialogue for each side story is only included in the data once, so if one side story is included in multiple different route paths, there's a decent chance I missed that. Once I get the basic script down, I'll go back and take a closer look to make sure I have the side stories duplicated where they need to be.
There are also a few scenes that were in the script and that I can remember playing through, but they didn't seem to actually be in the chapter the datamining said they would be in, so I need to track down where they actually go.
Event descriptions are mostly all there, but there were a few places I need to go back and check.
There are a lot of little general things I might have missed (things like conditionals that didn't show up in the ids I was looking at, so they flew under my radar).
Question-answer associations are likely mixed up in a lot of places. I touched on it in a previous post, but this is due to the fact that when Serenoa is answering a question, there's no real id that's used to indicate what dialogue follows a specific answer. So I've mostly just gone off of what sounds right for the time being. But if you're dying for a not-tldr explanation (and of course you're dying for a not-tldr explanation!!!!):
The way I've been "datamining" a lot of this isn't actually datamining so much as it is sort of......... making educated guesses based on the developer's variable naming system. Like for example, a specific piece of dialogue might be named:
MS01_X01_A1_0010_F_FRE_0070
And what I did was sort of reverse-figure-out what those ids indicated. I figured out that MS stands for "Main Story," 01 is the chapter number, X indicates that it's part 2 (if there ARE two parts, otherwise it's just the whole chapter), A1 is a reference to the location (Wolffort Demense), 0010 I think is technically some sort of scene id, but I haven't been able to crack what exactly the value indicates. "F" is the gender, "FRE" indicates that Frederica is the speaker, and "0070" is some other numbers that I did actually figure out what they meant but it's not relevant to datamining (it's a counter for how many times a specific character has spoken in a scene, which was probably useful for making sure each dialogue line got a unique id but it's not super useful in any other sense). (Also my little brother was actually the one to figure that out for me so shout out to him!!!)
There are variants on this with other information included, such as:
MS02_X02_RESEARCH_01_DRAMA_M_ELA_S01_0020
Which is a line of Erador's dialogue with roughly this interpretation:
MS: Main Story
02: Chapter 2
X: Main Chapter Content
RESEARCH: Comes from Exploration phase
01: Version 1
DRAMA: This happens during the exploration phase (as opposed to before or after it)
M: Male
ELA: Erador is the speaker
S01: Scenario ID 1 (usually means this is the dialogue that displays the first time you speak to him, vs. any time afterward)
0020: speaker count again
With questions specifically (like Benedict asking, "What do you think the purpose of the tourney is, my lord?"), those lines of dialogue usually get the label S03. That "S03" label is applied to all parts of the question-related conversation, including: the question itself (e.g. "What do you think the purpose of the tourney is, my lord?"), Serenoa's answers ("I think it's to show off our military might", "I think it's to make friends," etc.), and any NPC response that follows (e.g. Benedict saying, "Not quite, my lord. You see, it's actually..."). As far as I can tell, there's no way to tell what answer goes with what NPC response. It would PROBABLY be in the code somewhere, but while variable names are really easy to see, the actual code is a lot harder to break into and would require likely learning a new coding language and other stuff I simply don't feel like doing.
So thus I'm just guessing a lot of times. For a fair amount of it, it's pretty easy to tell what response goes with what question, but whenever it's ambiguous, it's entirely possible I mixed up the placement of a few lines here and there.

psppspps i heard you have the maps,,,,, hand em over
The pictures I had in the initial post are actually all the layers I have finished right now. I'm currently in the process of tweaking the most important rivers to look better when zoomed in very close, which takes a while because it has to be done at a really small scale. I can, however, tell you more about my process so far under the cut because it got long.
Scale
Here's the map, both with and without the base pictures I'm working from, with a grid overlay. Each square is 100 km by 100 km.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've decided to go with metric, at least for distance, because it's what's used in-game. I considered using chunks as my unit of measurement, but in the end, it would have made my life way, way harder, so metric it is. This is not a 1:1 version of the map! If I did that, each empire would be just its capitol city and the whole area in total would be tiny, so I'm working at a scale of 1 block : 10 km. When I go in and add individual buildings, that will be on the standard 1 block : 1 meter scale.
For those, like myself, who aren't used to metric, the width of the whole map is roughly the same as the width of the United States, not including Alaska and Hawaii. I'd also suggest looking at the driving distance between places you're familiar with in kilometers to get a sense of scale.
(Note: to match the map to the grid, I had to eyeball it based on the coordinates given on the Chunkbase map, which unfortunately were not very neat numbers. I tried to get it as accurate as possible, but that 1 block : 10 kilometer ratio probably isn't perfect. For the purposes of the project, I'm just treating it like it is. You can chalk any inaccuracies in that aspect up to the in-universe projection having some distortion.)
Coastlines
You might notice my coastlines are different from the official map Pixlriffs made. That's because he used Chunkbase, which generates a map of Minecraft seeds based on biome. Because of this, its coastlines aren't very accurate. I matched the Chunkbase map to my grid, then matched this map from the wiki, which was made using the in-game mapping feature, to the Chunkbase one. This allowed me to make more accurate coastlines, include terraforming, and pinpoint specific builds. It only covers most of the area I'm working with, though, so I used the Chunkbase map to fill out the edges.
The Cod Empire coast does not quite match the actual places in which there are water. This is because I'm interpreting those waterlogged areas as swampy, brackish lowlands. Once I've got a better understanding of the ecosystem, I'll go put a ton of rivers and lakes in that area.
Mountains
I more or less placed mountains randomly in the areas of the map that have mountain biomes, placing them more densely where there is snow. I knew roughly where I wanted my tectonic plates to go and put the mountains down accordingly. Because of some problems I had scaling the icon up and down, I have two different mountain layers, one more detailed than the other; when you look at a map on a large scale, there appear to be fewer mountains than there are when you zoom in. Most mountains aren’t named and don’t have any data; I plan to eventually estimate elevation for the Anthill, the mountains between the Grimlands and the Crystal Cliffs, and one in central Rivendell.
I have enough to say about rivers that they warrant their own post, I'm afraid, so be on the lookout for that. Also, feel free to ask more questions or throw suggestions at me! I'd especially love any name ideas for rivers, mountains, and towns. Special thanks to @talonwings, who has been patiently listening to me rant about this project and helping with some of the decisions.

Tarre Vizsla - Fan Canon
It’s of no coincidence to me that the Modern Star Wars lore would have us believe that Manda’lor Vizsla’s time occurs 1051 BBY as it simply proves that they haven’t even bothered to open a wiki article on Mandalorians to fact-check themselves.
At the time of 1051 BBY, old Star Wars lore had claimed that as the era of Manda’lor the Uniter, who had saved their home from being completely destroyed by the suspected biological weapon, the water based Blue Shadow Virus. Considering how much of Mandalore was destroyed at that time, and that in the era of Manda’lor the Uniter, the Republic had recovered from the virus and had begun to heal, the fact Mandalore was so targeted creates the notion that the virus was some kind of ill-fated bio weapon. The truth of that is unknown, but what is known is that the time of 1051 BBY was a bad time to be a Mandalorian. Only a tenth of the population survived, and that is the conservative estimate. Even if one removes Manda’lor the Uniter, the existence of the Blue Shadow Virus at this time (which is a canon occurrence in the Clone Wars as well) weakens the idea of Manda’lor Vizsla occurring so late in history, so they must be from an earlier time.
Skip back to the era of the Sacking of the Jedi Temple, and you have a whole new problem. Tarre Vizsla can’t have existed before this time, simply because the wars leading up to the Sacking were between the Republic, and both Mandalore, and the Sith (with Mandalore being the focus of the Republic, and the Sith the focus of the Jedi - roughly speaking, although conflict was had between all factions during this tremulous period) and that creates issues, with Manda’lor Vizsla being both a Mandalorian and a Jedi. Considering that is literally what they are best known for being.
That puts them occurring at a time before 1051 BBY, but after 3760 BBY, and that is a great deal of time to cover.
But why must Tarre Vizsla have existed before 1051, you ask? Well… you see, the Republic and the Jedi committed this terrible war crime called ‘orbitally bombarding a currently peaceful populace that you had a standing truce with out of fear that they might, perhaps, maybe, feel like attacking you first.’ Great job, guys, now the Mandalorians can never forgive, and never forget. If they weren’t going to attack you before, well they sure are now!
Mind you, the Mandalorians of the Crusades and Neo Crusades and perhaps even earlier, had been pretty fucked up, but the point of Manda’lor the Uniter was that they fixed a great deal of that. As should have Tarre Vizsla, if they were born before this event - which, they had to have been, to even exist wearing armour. That means the Republic and the Jedi annihalated a currently unarmed, peaceable culture out of their own fear for actions that the living, at that time (1000 years difference between the events of Knights of the Old Republic games and the destruction of Mandalore - that is a long ass time, even for generational memory) hadn’t even witnessed.
So, between 3000-1000 BBY… that’s well over 2000 years that Tarre Vizsla could have existed in. Hell, there were multiple orders of Mandalorian Jedi in that time, surely they were a part of at least one of them. Additionally, the darksabre was donated, by old Clan Vizsla, to the Temple, after Tarre died.
That means, considering that no other mention of the darksabre in Mandalorian history exists outside of Tarre Vizsla, with the next wielder literally being Tor Vizsla, the creator of modern Death Watch himself, that means that the Jedi Temple was broken into after the Dral Haran (the burning of Mandalore and its once arable worlds) and frankly, as much as I find considering someone leader by right of fancy sword, I can not blame the Vizslas for stealing it back.
Not after such a betrayal. I’m sure Tarre Vizsla is furious that their weapon is now ‘the sign of Kings,’ but I don’t think they mind that it was robbed from the Temple. Nothing justifies the near eradication of a people out of fear. That’s the point. It is even the point of Jaster Mereel’s break from the ideals of the Mandalorians of old. This concept is what the Clan Wars are about - why should a Jedi relic decide the Mandalorian future.
Now, that doesn’t mean that modern Mandalorians aren’t ill-informed - they probably are. Many Mandalorians have probably been grasping at straws to justify their existence and way of life to each other after the Dral Haran. That doesn’t mean we can ignore that it is a lie. The darksabre isn’t the sign of kings, the leadership is.
[any additional thoughts on this topic? Feel free to spam me down below, or link me to someone who has discussed it before. I think it’s a major hole in much of the writing, but that’s just my nerd ass talking.]

Stone Ocean: the two versions of universe reset & jolysui/irekiss
Just this month, Stone Ocean anime has ended. Suddenly I want to discuss how universe reset actually works and a little bit about jolysui & irekiss.
First, about Pucci’s version of universe reset. The first time Emporio woke up in GDst prison, he saw a new version of Jotaro and Jolyne.
Tumblr media
SO chapter 156: Made In Heaven – part 8
This version of ‘Jotaro’ and ‘Jolyne’ have similar fashion style, with minor alteration. But it could be seen that their face (and possibly their voice too) was different. So, Emporio saw them as different people, but let's say that they were roughly like people cosplaying as Jotaro and Jolyne.
Not only about the costumes, but also their role. Let's refer to them as Kunō Nōtaro and Jocelyn (for fun LOL), and that this Jocelyn also being incarcerated and has daddy issue like Jolyne.
Tumblr media
So we are like back to the beginning of Stone Ocean (chapter 11 onwards), but since Jotaro, Jolyne and the likes did not survive the acceleration, they were gone and got replaced with Notaro and Jocelyn. It is also said that their soul and personality have been erased, in this case we don’t really see the personality of Notaro and Jocelyn, so this explanation is a bit ambiguous. However, Notaro and Jocelyn are clearly different people from Jotaro and Jolyne (based on appearance alone), but living their life.
Also, why we went back to chapter 11 and not chapter 1 in first reset? Because Jolyne’s first enemy under Pucci was Johngalli A., and the arc started on chapter 11. Gwess is the only enemy in Stone Ocean who had nothing to do with Pucci.
Tumblr media
SO chapter 158: What A Wonderful World
Next, in second version of universe reset when Pucci got erased instead, Emporio met the new version of Jolyne’s gang. Based on face alone, they are all the same persons. But here they live a different life than in previous world (a world where they have bizarre adventured with Emporio). In this case, we can see that they were all never incarcerated in GDst.
And besides that they also have different identities, like Anakiss instead of Anasui and Irene instead of Jolyne. Is it possible that the actual names of Notaro and Jocelyn were previously Jotaro and Jolyne? Idk. But through the name change of Anasui and Jolyne, it shows that they have a completely different life than before.
Tumblr media
Another interesting thing is their different style of dress. Particularly between Anasui and Anakiss, while the former dressed like a stripper, the latter is being modest. Wiki page said that the dead is still being replaced, but replacement in this second reset is clearly different from the first.
And in one of my old posts (!part 8 spoilers), I have mentioned how Irene’s personality feels different from Jolyne, as Jolyne is more tomboyish like her father whereas Irene is more gentle and affectionate like her grandma. -> skip to “Regarding Jolyne and Irene” and stop at “they might show them differently”.
So the breakdown is roughly like this:
Tumblr media
Now, I’d like to talk about jolysui and irekiss.
In original universe, mostly it was treated like a gag and one-sided. But surprisingly, in second reset, they are dating and about to get married as irekiss.
Tumblr media
However, near the end of Stone Ocean, during the climactic battle against 「Made in Heaven」, some time after Anasui proposed to Jolyne through her father Jotaro, Jolyne accepted it (much to her father’s shock lol).
You can watch the scene here (skip at minute 7:55):
youtube
Because just after Anasui said 「徐倫に結婚でも申し込むとするかな!」” Jōrin ni kekkon demo moushikomu to suru kana!” which roughly means “then maybe I’ll ask Jolyne to marry me”...
Tumblr media
Jolyne said “yes” and indeed what she meant was about 「申し込む」”moushikomu” and it means:
Tumblr media
To be honest, initially I did not believe this scene, because I did not recall having this in the manga. I thought this was an extra/improvisation scene in the anime. But after I checked again, it was the English translation of the manga version that made it sound more ambiguous.
Tumblr media
SO chapter 153: Made In Heaven – part 5
Sometimes, there are few translation errors in English version, however I don’t think this one is the case.
Just “ask me” is not wrong, it directly translated to the “moushikomu” one, as marriage in Japanese is “kekkon”. However, it is Jolyne's dialogue afterwards that makes the nuances in this scene difficult to comprehend.
Even though she accepted Anasui's proposal, Jolyne hardly looked like someone being in love with Anasui.
“I’m not saying this because I’m not despairing over this situation” later she was talking about “hope” and “path”, that’s how I misinterpreted it that she was talking about Anasui's plan in defeating Pucci and their probability to win, akin to another gag that she was being oblivious with his courting. Especially prior to that, something like this happened:
Tumblr media
SO chapter 151: Made In Heaven – part 3
Just after Anasui's asking about marriage to Jotaro, Jolyne kind of reacted to it, only for her to talk about how to fight Pucci, made me as a reader thought: “OMG, she assured him that she is into it!” -> “oh, it is about the fight”.
Tumblr media
And back on how I think that she did not look like someone being in love, I expected that she said something like “because whenever I'm with you, I feel comfort in my heart”, it’s cheesy yeah… but it will spare me from misunderstanding (lmao).
At least, if I was more attentive, Jotaro's reacting to her words is totally made sense now (lol).Tbh, seeing his reaction, I'm not sure he would approve it. After all, Anasui is still a criminal & murderer. However, things can be different with Anakiss, because like I said before, he got different life.
So now I can understand why irekiss happened, because jolysui was about to happen if only they survived. But personally, I’m still not a fan of jolysui, they really lack chemistry (in contrast to josuyasu/yasugap, my OTP). Jolysui has been treated as a gag until suddenly it became possible. It’s like a reversal role in old Shōnen trope when the girl constantly being in love with MC but MC being oblivious, yet the ending have them tied the knot (famous example is Goku-Chichi in Dragon Ball). But yeah, irekiss is canon and I simply accept it.
Then what do you think about jolysui and irekiss? Do you have OTP in JoJo?

How tall do you think all the outsiders are? I love for height headcanons
On another note you’re a fantastic writer and I’m adoring the series you got going on. They’re very captivating to read
So sorry for putting this off for so long ! It’s a seriously good question and I am seriously invested and for that reason! I procrastinate so much on it lol (not to say questions i immediately answer arent, i am just all over the place 😅) (also thank u so much for the kind praise 🙏💗 I am so happy ur enjoying it and it means a lot to me <33)
this ask is especially important as it has also been asked before which i will link this post to as the answer right after :)
i’m including all former and current members for completion. Also their birth years (from the YJ wiki) for added context, because why not.
okay so based on multiple YJ scenes (some examples shown below) and 1 ask greg these r my estimates:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(disclaimer these r all rough estimates, no way of knowing for 100% sure and I don’t claim to have a complete picture of all relevant scenes for height cold reading lol i would be happy to hear other peoples thoughts/ideas/corrections as well :D )
Rough Outsiders Height Ranking:
Geo-Force - Brion Markov : (2001) probably roughly max 6 ft 4 (about 1.95m)
Cyborg - Victor Stone : (2000) maybe about 6 ft 2 -3 (about 1.9m)
Blue Beetle - Jaime Reyes : (2000) about 6 ft 2 (1.88 - 1.9m) i actually have him tied with Vic, the only reason why id rank him a little lower is because in some scenes it could be his suit giving him some height.
Static - Virgil Hawkins : (2000) about 6 ft (1.85m)
El Dorado - Eduardo Dorado Jr : (2001) actually i tied him with Virgil but i’m not always certain so i’d also estimate about 6 ft but a range of (1.83-1.85m)
Superboy - Conner Kent : (2010 lol) about 5 ft 9 (1.8m)
Robin - Tim Drake : (2001) about 5 ft 8 (1.78m)
Wonder Girl - Cassie Sandsmark : (2001) id put her at the same height as Tim maybe only slightly shorter, but Greg has mentioned they’re roughly the same height so therefore also 5 ft 8 (1.78m)
Kid Flash - Bart Allen : (2043 🙄 cause hes different like that LOL jk but he’s the equivalent age of 2003) id put him between 5 ft 6 - 5 ft 7 (about 1.7 - 1.73/4m)
Livewire - Leslie Willis : (2002) about 5 ft 5 (1.68m)
Looker - Lia Briggs : (2002) about 5 ft 4 (1.65m)
Windfall - Wendy Jones : (2005) about same as Lia maybe 5 ft 3 - 4 (1.63 - 1.65m)
Beast Boy - Garfield Logan : (2002) about 5 ft 2 - 3 (1.6-1.63m)
Stargirl- Courtney Whitmore : (2003) about 5 ft 1-2 (1.55 - 1.58m)
Terra - Tara Markov : (2003) about same as Courtney 5 ft 1-2 (1.55 - 1.58m)
Forager : (?) idk lol let’s say 5 ft 😂

On the title of Murder Drones episode 7 (spoilers & speculation)
DISCLAIMER: Obviously this is going to contain spoilers for the upcoming seventh episode of Murder Drones. It also has a lot of speculation based on other languages' names for the episode - I'm not knowledgeable about most of them, so I used a combination of automated tools and online resources (like Wiktionary) to figure out what they mean. Therefore, please take most everything here with a grain of salt!
Late at night, on a whim, I decided to check the Murder Drones Fandom wiki (using BreezeWiki, of course) to see if they had anything about the new episode that I didn't already know. Turns out they did - it's a bit decentralized, but the wiki lists several translations used for the show's various foreign dubs. (In case you didn't know, YouTube lets you provide translations for video titles and descriptions which will automatically show up for people in the relevant regions.)
I bring this up because it led to me realizing something about the English title: it might have a double meaning.
If you've seen any of the teasers Glitch has posted, it's hardly a secret that the episode ("Mass Destruction") at least partially takes place in a church, with a crucifix also playing a role to some capacity. Despite knowing this, somehow I hadn't thought about the possibility that the first word in the title could allude to Catholic (and other Christian denominations') masses.
The specific title that led me to this conclusion was the Japanese one: 大波乱のミサ, which very roughly means something like "Deeply Turbulent Mass." The key here is that ミサ, as far as I can tell, very specifically refers to Catholic mass. (Side note: I can't confirm that most of these titles are, in fact, the ones used in their respective regions. However, I do have some evidence supporting the Japanese name cited above: specifically, this tweet from a Japanese fan linking to episode 7, including the video's title.)
With that in mind, I did a bit of digging to see how the other languages handled the name. As it turns out, they all fall into one of three groups:
Translating the title literally, as "mass[ive] destruction:" French ("Destruction Massive"), Brazilian Portuguese ("Destruição em Massa"), and Ukrainian ("Масова Руйнація")
Translating the title as "Divine Destruction/Devastation:" Hungarian ("Isteni Pusztítás") and Turkish ("İlahi Yıkım")
Using a different apocalyptic phrase: German ("Die Endzeit," meaning "The End Times"), Russian ("Судный День," meaning "Judgment Day"), and Thai ("โบสถ์สู่ธุลี," roughly meaning "[From] Church to Dust")
(Judging from various tweets I've seen, there is no official Spanish title for the episode just yet - it uses the English one as a default.)
I'd seem some theories pondering whether certain parts of the series had religious symbolism, and I must say that this might lend them more credence.

Note
as far as Confirmed Babies(TM) go for FE6 that were unmentioned otherwise: - Chad iirc is roughly on par age wise with Raigh and Lugh - Wolt is implicitly the same age as Roy - Fae is older than most of the cast but she satisfies the 'looks/behaves like a kid' clause
anyone else is broadly an actual adult or just never has anything clarified about their actual age
Yeah the automatically DQ'd characters are: Roy, Wolt, Chad, Lugh, Raigh, Clarine, Lilina, Sophia, and Fae. I didn't list all of them for the sake of brevity, but I felt Roy needed an explanation since he's the lord and later media (mainly Smash and Engage) inconsistently depicts his age. So if you're only familiar with Binding Blade through Smash you might be like "wait why is this 20 year old lookin' man not here???" lol
As for transparency on how I decided which characters are too baby for the bracket:
Serenesforest has a list of all known and approximated ages in the FE series, and basically every Binding Blade character is on it in some capacity. So I DQ'd Roy (15), Lilina (15), Lugh (13), and Raigh (13). Fae got an automatic DQ for being a Nowi-esque childish old dragon girl. Wolt got axed because he's stated to be about the same age as Roy
Then I took a list of all of the characters listed as "teens" on Serenes and picked through their wiki galleries to get a sense of how they're usually depicted. You can usually tell who is supposed to be more mature or more childish based on the art. Chad, Clarine, and Sophia all tend to be depicted looking in the 13-15ish range so I DQ'd them to be safe. I know Sophia is technically older but she was falling a bit into the loli dragon grey zone for me
There were a few characters I was borderline on (mainly the gals) but if I excluded every character listed as "teens" we'd have about 10 female characters left to vote on (thanks old FE for your itty bitty casts of mostly young women :|). I trust democracy to sort it out if I missed anything lol
