Can people stop going on about Russia when talking about right wing British/American politicians?
Yes, Russia’s political leaders are awful and the way LGBT+ people (and Communists btw!) are treated there is horrific (and of course the invasion of Ukraine)
BUT. You don’t need to bring up Russia when bringing up the henious things Anglo politicians do!
Politicians aren’t attacking trans people because of Russia, it’s because they hate trans people. They aren’t bombing the Middle East because a scary “foreign” politician told them to, it’s because it suits THEIR interests (i.e. oil and Western hegemony)
I could go on but I’m annoyed because there the layer of xenophobia of how the shitty country you live in at least isn’t *as* bad as a shitty foreign country (it is)
(Also stop doing this regarding China, North Korea or basically any Middle Eastern or African country the West has an agenda against)

In Gaza, journalists are passing out from exhaustion and famine. Despite the ICJ ruling, the US and Australia are intentionally defunding UNWRA based on baseless claims by Israel that members of the aid group are Hamas-sympathizers. Netanyahu, of course, has ignored the ICJ ruling. Israel has banned insulin pens from arriving in Gaza, a particularly cruel and inhumane crime to add to their laundry list of offences. Nothing has changed, and things are getting worse.
It is not that hard to not buy things. To not watch things. Perhaps it is inconvenient, and makes you go out of your way, and costs a little more to buy alternatives. But if you were to attend a funeral a day for every child that has died in Gaza so far, it would take you over 27 years. When the worst that will happen to you is that you don't watch a TV show featuring a zionist, you don't buy a specific brand that donates to and supports zionism, how could that possibly compare to the plight of Palestinians who must amputate limbs without anesthesia?
Once again, this is the BDS list of brands to boycott.

More Meddle in the Middle
An insightful reflection on the relationship between democracy, human rights, and power dynamics. My new essay critically examines Helen Fein’s ‘More Murder in the Middle’ and explores the role of external meddling in democratization.
I recently read Helen Fein’s research paper, titled “More Murder in the Middle: Life-Integrity Violations and Democracy in the World, 1987,” published in 1995, and I thought I should take some time to reflect on it. This paper appears to have sparked a debate about the effect of democracy and democratization on respect for human rights, particularly physical integrity rights. Continue reading…

“this international colonial discourse affects something much more far-reaching than the legal imaginary allows. It condemns the very being of Palestinians, their very existence. This order of discourse, which the West (understood not as a set of states or a place but rather as a moral project that continues to violently universalize itself) has already authored about other colonized and enslaved peoples, figures Palestinians as inherently blameworthy. This order of discourse fashions them as the enemy of all, an enemy who must be crushed instead of negotiated with politically.” —Samera Esmeir, https://www.madamasr.com/en/2023/10/14/opinion/politics/to-say-and-think-a-life-beyond-what-settler-colonialism-has-made/

How The New World Order Is Emerging, West Hegemony Crumbling
How The New World Order Is Emerging, West Hegemony Crumbling
At last week’s Valdai Forum, in Moscow I was invited to speak at a session entitled “The Crumbling World: Lessons for the Future from the Political-Military Crisis of 2022.” The event has become a leader in the international intellectual community in dealing with global affairs of the present and future. But the title of the session gave me doubts, even if I didn’t protest. When The Crisis…

okay you’re disabled and you don’t work. i assume you still need to eat. where does the food come from? is it all a community garden? is there a supply-line? what if those people don’t want to work? Are you just supposed to just keel over and starve?
Or…and allow me to guess here…you’ve literally never thought about any of the answers to these questions short of “I’ll go to the store”. because you’re American. your entire life exists because of exploited labor from the global south. where’s your toaster come from? microwave? cobalt in your phone? clothes? food? it’s all exploited labor (and they’re get exploited a lot harder than any American with a damn office job).
so sure, you can’t work. but somebody has to, or you’ll die. and contrary to the warblings of many weepy anarchists on twitter and tumblr, i do not, in fact, want you to die. but sometimes i think western anarchists would rather keep the world’s injustice as long as it benefits them personally, and i sure haven’t seen otherwise here
(also if you’re not American and live in a different cracker-ass European-ass country everything i’ve said applies just as much. i haven’t checked. don’t be a pedant)
i actually do work bc our system wants disabled people to work until they die and makes it incredibly difficult if not almost impossible to get any support. this is largely the case everywhere there is a system for deciding who is disabled enough to be allowed not to work. youre a few months late to this whole discourse but in summation i think people want to preform labor and tasks so much more than capitalism assumes. especially if their needs are met thru tht work. if no one wants to do a specfic type of labor at all then we need to figure out how to either go without the product of that labor or figure out other ways to get it.
its interesting to me you bring up the immense forced labor the western empires are built off of and yet you think there should be a board of people who's job it is to force disabled people who have not met their lofty criteria to work until they die. why should that principal be upheld anywhere?
i swear disabled anarchists cant win either we're getting yelled at for not supporting the forced labor of our siblings, viewed as bougie parasites for daring not to work our bodies to destruction or we get called ableist for calling for the destruction of our society that runs on forced labor

I’m supposed to believe the United States Funded Puppet State of Israel is the safest place for Jews, when there’s constant war and bloodshed? News every other week of how many of our people have been lost? The same United States that funded ISIS to put pressure on the Middle East and China?
The western propaganda machine didn’t really iron out the kinks in that one. It’s almost like they send us off, through “birth-right trips” and “right of return”, and hope we get caught up in the crossfire.

THE US STILL OWES NICARAGUA REPERATIONS SINCE 1986 ICJ DECISION
Tumblr media
Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega has called on the United States to fulfill its obligations under International Law and to pay the $12 Billion in reparations owed to it under a 1986 International Court of Justice ruling.
The International Court of Justice is a UN sponsored platform to resolve international disputes between Nation-states.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This ICJ ruling was made in 1986 after years of the United States sponsoring a dirty war responsible for tens of thousands of Nicaraguan deaths, an attempted genocide against pro-Sandinista Nicaraguan civilians, the destruction of the country's Infrastructure and an economic blockade that thoroughly destroyed the Nicaraguan economy causing untold suffering among citizens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the 1986 ICJ ruling, the Judges wrote:

The United States in reality should owe reparations to countries all across the world for its horrific Imperialist Foreign Policy: Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao, Iran, Syria, Libya, Granada, the DPRK, Sri Lanka, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras and more.

Regular reminder that if you don't live in the Global North, nothing they have to say applies to the rest of us. Actually most things they say have little value anyway since the Global South and Eastern folks are afterthoughts to them, much less center us in their social justice.
- The USAmerican cultural hegemony has fuck all to do with us. Be aware of what they're trying to peddle you, but they have more power to harm and radicalise you than you have ever could to harm them. This applies to both the Western left and right wing. They are both equally racist, colonial and imperialist.
- Global North issues around capitalism, exploitation and piracy have nothing to do with us. Consumer activism might work to some extent over there idk, but if anyone brings it up over in the lands of the Black and brown people, you can laugh them out of the country.
- Their queer history is not ours. Congrats to Stonewall and all but that's just some shit that happened in the US. We need to dig past 18 different strata of cultural genocide and colonial garbage to mine our queer histories back into the light, and designing microlabel flags and fighting over colonizer language acronyms have fuck all to do with that either.
- Always pirate everything within reach. Save up and buy from authors and creators you really like (that's what I do – esp when it's a BIPOC creator), but people who can't afford to buy shit in the first place ain't stealing food out of anybody's mouths. Pirating is praxis and always has been since the days of the East India Company.
- Don't buy into the USAmerican theories of race. They aren't universal. "BIPOC" especially is a USAmerican specific term, it is not used in the UK or other settler colonies. Constructs of race and the tribal Other far predated European colonization; race as a colour system that exists today is simply one variation of it. The global apartheid against the mellanated takes many forms, histories and terminology. There are especially no "people of colour" in Asia, Africa, Caribbean and Polynesia. There are only people who live there, and "people of white".
Race is a fake, made-up conceptualization imposed by whoever has power within each region. It's ethnic, cultural and casteist, with no biological basis whatsoever. There is no uniformity, no universalism, no rhyme nor reason to any of it; the only people who know exactly who doesn't belong are the oppressors. I'm seeing concepts like "unambiguously black" floating around the terminally online Western left; any dark-skinned person of the Global South should split their sides laughing at it. Whites have no ambiguity on who the darkies are.
- Read, watch, listen to, play whatever the hell you want, just have the sense to pirate it, and to be very conscious about the narratives they try to smuggle.
- When the US and UK speak, listen with compassionate interest, offer what solidarity you can spare for their downtrodden, and then go back to reading and following your own fucking news. Focus on our own women's and reproductive rights, trans rights, queer histories, rise of fascism, militarisation, anti-blackness, class warfare, nationalist violence, imperialism etc. That is decolonization, that is emancipation from the Western cultural hegemony. Everything else is the bread and circuses of empire, in which both the left and right wing of the West are complicit.
We owe the Global North nothing more than we can each individually afford to extend to them on grounds of common human decency and compassion. Which is a lot more than they will ever reciprocate.

Russian state media loves "Moscow Marjorie" Taylor Traitor Greene. They undoubtedly hope that her attempt to oust Speaker Johnson creates chaos and prevents the already overdo aid package to Ukraine from passing.
The Russian government is engaged in an effort to destabilize and weaken liberal democracies. Greene fits in nicely with their plans.
Secret Russian foreign policy document urges action to weaken the U.S.
In a classified addendum to Russia’s official — and public — “Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation,” the ministry calls for an “offensive information campaign” and other measures spanning “the military-political, economic and trade and informational psychological spheres” against a “coalition of unfriendly countries” led by the United States. “We need to continue adjusting our approach to relations with unfriendly states,” states the 2023 document, which was provided to The Washington Post by a European intelligence service. “It’s important to create a mechanism for finding the vulnerable points of their external and internal policies with the aim of developing practical steps to weaken Russia’s opponents.” The document for the first time provides official confirmation and codification of what many in the Moscow elite say has become a hybrid war against the West. Russia is seeking to subvert Western support for Ukraine and disrupt the domestic politics of the United States and European countries, through propaganda campaigns supporting isolationist and extremist policies, according to Kremlin documents previously reported on by The Post. It is also seeking to refashion geopolitics, drawing closer to China, Iran and North Korea in an attempt to shift the current balance of power.
Just a quick word to point out that Putin is under the delusion that his Axis of Authoritarians would have Russia as its head. China is stronger than Russia and will not kowtow to a country which has a GDP not much bigger than Italy's and is suffering enormous losses in a war with a country which has only a quarter of Russia's population.
Using much tougher and blunter language than the public foreign policy document, the secret addendum, dated April 11, 2023, claims that the United States is leading a coalition of “unfriendly countries” aimed at weakening Russia because Moscow is “a threat to Western global hegemony.” The document says the outcome of Russia’s war in Ukraine will “to a great degree determine the outlines of the future world order,” a clear indication that Moscow sees the result of its invasion as inextricably bound with its ability — and that of other authoritarian nations — to impose its will globally.
In addition to old school revanchism, Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine is a test to see how far the liberal democracies will let Putin go.
For Mikhail Khodorkovsky — the longtime Putin critic who was once Russia’s richest man until a clash with the Kremlin landed him 10 years in prison — it is not surprising that Russia is seeking to do everything it can to undermine the United States. “For Putin, it is absolutely natural that he should try to create the maximum number of problems for the U.S.,” he said. “The task is to take the U.S. out of the game, and then destroy NATO. This doesn’t mean dissolving it, but to create the feeling among people that NATO isn’t defending them.” The long congressional standoff on providing more weapons to Ukraine was only making it easier for Russia to challenge Washington’s global power, he said. “The Americans consider that insofar as they are not directly participating in the war [in Ukraine], then any loss is not their loss,” Khodorkovsky said. “This is an absolute misunderstanding.”
Putin was taken aback by both Ukraine's fierce defense and by Western resolve to protect the independence of a European democratic state. He refuses to admit that he made an enormous blunder so he continues to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of Russians while hoping that his US servants like Greene, Gaetz, and Trump will rescue him.

Tom A. I. Riddle: The Dark Side of the Digital Horcrux
Artificial Intelligence has taken us by storm. In my blog this week, I look at the dark side of AI. From the control by a select few to its potential social and global disruptions, this essay delves into the digital horcrux that is AI. #AI #DigitalHorcrux
Over the past weekend, I had the opportunity to dine with some very smart people: engineers and entreprenuers, all alumni of GIKI, Pakistan. They had insightful things to say about a range of issues, from the oil and gas sector to American geopolitical power, the economy, and all the way to AI and industrial automation.
