Shifting

Since I've already been lore dumping with no regard whether it fits Tumblr I'll just keep going. Hope that's okay with y'all.

As Werecreatures both Tay and Ryley and well all others involved in their pack, mostly made up of Werewolves, can shift. They have two forms, a more animal-esque form, like a Wolf or a Cat, have yet to decide whether Tay's weird blue persist for the Cat form, maybe it could be more of a Russian Blue, Blue. And well Ryley's just a eurasian Wolf, so for now all I can tell you about that design is to maybe google a Eurasian Wolf.

Afaik Eurasian wolves typically have a saddle-like dark spot on the back and at the tip of their tail. The back of their ears is read and the sides of their snouts and their neck are lighter. Generally the fur seems to be darker at the top and lighter toward the bottom. So that's likely the case for Ryley too.

Besides those animal like forms we have the total Werebeast form (I also noticed I accidentally used otherkin tags and while friends have said I might be one I don't want to invade communities with unrelated posts so I hope I didn't accidentally do that, sorry if I did) which means bipedal, big and fluffy, rather tall, and probably ready to fight, probably even able to beat a bear. So it's this concept of a super powerful beast. I do like the idea of a Werewolf being really close to humans sometimes like in the After Dark comics but for my guys I wanted something big and perhaps overpowered.

By default all the Werecreatures can fully shift into both forms with relative little practice and ease.

Emotions can affect their shifts, usually being annoyed or angry can force a transformation which is why Tay and Ryley's pack have a Cat Café to basically practice interacting with humans in while the Cats can calm the employees again.

There is also the ability of microshifting, as in shifting only body parts. It takes loads of practice, the smaller the changes the more practice it takes. Tay as of now can microshift down to his nails. As in he can grow claws when needed, or get an entire paw or even the entire arm. Ryley on the other hand is still limited to full shifting due to his inexperience, he's still working on his emotions.

Emotions can also affect microshifting, which means if you learn to microshift you can also have that happen just out of emotion. Tay's most notable case being that he can grow a tail on accident when he's happy or excited. So the typical tail wags, he's at least mastered control there enough to not rip his pants.

Tay can also purr involuntarily, but that's not consider a microshift, that's a permanent change to his human form, there's no shifting involved in that. If Tay couldn't microshift he'd still purr without shifting.

Though the official GeoCities web hosting was officially shut down in the United States in 2009, and an awful lot of the pages hosted on there have been lost to time, there have been efforts to preserve this important part of internet history.
