As human beings, we often make assumptions about others based on their appearance, their behavior, or even their background. We judge people based on their race, their gender, their sexual orientation, their religion (or lack of), or their social status. But when we do this, we fail to see them as they truly are, as unique individuals with their own hopes, dreams, fears, and struggles.
In the Bible, we are told to love our neighbors as ourselves. This means that we must see others as we see ourselves, with compassion, empathy, and understanding. We must learn to look beyond their outward appearance and see the person inside, the person who is created in the image of God.
One of the most important lessons we can learn from Jesus is that He always saw people for who they really were. He didn't judge them based on their background or their reputation. Instead, He looked at their hearts and saw the potential for goodness and greatness in each of them. He saw the value in everyone, even those who were often overlooked or marginalized.
In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples that whatever they do for the least of these, they do for Him. He is reminding us that every person, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, is important in the eyes of God. When we see people for who they really are, we are able to treat them with the love and respect that they deserve.
We should aspire to see people for who they really are. We should look beyond appearance, behavior, or background, and see them as unique individuals with their own stories to tell. We should treat them with the kindness and compassion that Jesus showed to everyone He met. Let us always remember that when we love and serve others, we are also loving and serving God.
“Sending everybody positivity and warm wishes. I know so many will be finding this time so challenging, just know it’s ok and you are not alone. We all in this together and I just want to spread some light and positivity. There is light at the end of this tunnel, we will get through this! Try and enjoy your weekend!🙏🏾 #weareallthesame“ - april 11, 2020

Don’t change yourself for others. If someone hurts you once, leave. Don’t subject your Mental Health for someone who doesn’t pay you mind and matter. We are all the same, dear. #MentalHealth #DontChangeForAnyone #DontQuit #WeAreAllTheSame https://www.instagram.com/p/CK5WHLPHcNw/?igshid=skb9rs8r7ij0

I remember that I am like a flower. We are all like flowers. Beauitful and elegant in our own ways. Or maybe even a little strange with colors that stand out like wild flowers.
We may blossom at different times of the year, at different seasons but we all blossom. However and whenever that may be for you.
Remember that a flower does not shy away from its beauty depending on who walks by, but wakes up every sunrise with its pedals open like a book ready to be read, to be heard, to be seen.
These past 6 months have been an eye opener to the entire world. From, #COVID to #blacklivesmatter to #stonewallanniversary to seeing how much #racism is still alive and is still infecting our homes, schools, neighborhoods and countries, we haven’t had a mental break. We actually turned 2020 into a year that will go down history as the year people finally stood up for whats right and their simple right of understanding the existence of the many flaws in our system. I’ve seen the videos, I’ve lived through the awful treatment of the Black, Hispanic, Muslim and LGBTQIA+ communities and this time around I haven’t been able to come up with the words. I’ve already lost 3 important people this year. But I gained a niece. I’ve seen hate and bullying but I’ve also seen kindness and love. I’ve overworked myself but I’m seeing results. I urge every single one of you to find the good in every bad. To understand that your way isn’t always the only way. Others matter. Others exist. Others hurt. Be supportive of human rights. Be understanding and open for change. It’s time to stop saying; “they’re just ignorant and don’t know any better”. It’s time for them to learn and educate themselves, and for you to teach and educate them. Take an hour of your video games time and spend it learning, searching, and trying to understand what is outside of your own home. Otherwise, whatever you achieve in life, won’t give you the same feeling of serenity as to knowing you did your best in your lifetime working on yourself, and helping others work on themselves. It’s time for us all to unite and make our union a historic, peaceful and ground breaking union. My ONE wish is that the second half of 2020 bring you nothing but love, security and peace of mind. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others.
