In addition to Yor's epiphany scene, this scene was the other one I was most looking forward to in season 2 - a scene that, in my opinion, is one of the most Twiyor-ish scenes in the series so far 💖

Why is it so significant? Because there was no reason for Twilight to put on any Loid Forger acting in that moment. He wasn't conversing with nor being scrutinized by anyone. So why would he give that soft smile followed by such affectionate, comforting words as "お疲れ様/otsukaresama"? (this can be translated in many ways, but generally it's something you say to thank someone for their hard work).

The answer is because it's something he truly felt...he understood the sacrifice Yor made for Anya's happiness and genuinely appreciated it (if only he knew the sacrifice she made on the larger scale, lol). While he's a bit perturbed at first since some onlookers were snickering at him, it didn't take long for him to soften and then graciously carry his queen and princess the girls back to the ship 😭

But Twilight overall was really soft in this episode and I loved it~ From his blush upon seeing Yor to the several times he gave that same soft smile when talking with/looking at her...I think Anya was right when she called him out on the ship about missing his wife 😅

I liked how the anime conveyed his shock when noticing her bruised face...what must have been his thought at that moment? 👀

The scenes of the family activities translated better in animated form in my opinion. While they were each only a single panel in the manga, they lasted a few seconds each in the anime, plus the addition of the insert song helped the with the comfy, wholesome vibe~ Also the part where Yor inadvertently chucks Anya across the ocean is still hilarious.

Loid's dorky skip at the beginning of the episode translated very well in animated form too 😅

The ending of this chapter in the manga always felt a bit rushed to me...it quickly jumps from the aforementioned scene of them returning to the ship, to suddenly being home, reuniting with Bond and Franky, having a meal together, then Twilight meeting Sylvia, all within a few panels. Even though I wish the anime added more than just some additional scenes of the ship leaving the island, I felt it flowed much better in the anime since, just like the family activities, each scene in the ending lasted a second or two instead of being a single illustration.

But I love how this chapter/episode ends, with Yor, Anya, and Bond napping while Anya draws about her family vacation. This seems to take place the next day or maybe later the same day they got home, so makes sense they'd still be tired from the trip!

By the way, the manga has this additional scene showing that Olka and company are safe. Weird that the anime didn't stick it in at some point.

Also, the anime team didn't have to go so hard with this episode's key visual but they did...and I love it 😍 Might actually be my favorite of the key visuals so far!

I was very happy to see the "surrounded by liars" panel finally animated! This is such a funny scene and a great way to fully wrap up the cruise arc.

I also burst out laughing at Yuri's locker 🤣

Damian is surprisingly laid back in this episode. I think the reason is because Anya's antics aren't directly involving him. He tends to go total tsundere only when she's actually talking to him, lol.

The new scene of Yor getting the keychains for her coworkers was a nice addition! Guess it's canon that Yor and Anya didn't sleep for the entire trip back, lol. Glad they got to spend family time on the ship too! (though I wish we could have seen Yor's reaction waking up in Loid's bottom bunk bed, haha. He must have brought her to his room since he wouldn't know where her room is. Unless she woke up before he even put her in a bed, in which case she would have been super embarrassed knowing he was carrying her around in public 😆)

Looks like next week the anime will be changing the order of things a bit and giving us the Becky home-wrecking and Fiona chapters (the latter of which seems to have some anime original content?) The Becky chapter is one of my favorite stand-alone chapters...I'm already dying of laugher thinking about it 😂

Ok, so who all wants to see some ancient designs?? Thought this might be fun since there's so many new people around lately, and even the not-so-new people may not know about these! Here's the first 3 skaters I ever made, back when I was still Syppah's Cute Creations mainly doing amigurumi crochet:

Creepy Eyes is a true OG that's been around since about July 2015! It isn't very popular on skaters or joggers since I stopped doing cons, but it's still going strong as midis and maxis. I've also used the pattern on eyeglass cloths, face masks, scrunchies, tights, zipper bags, and more. I don't think I'll ever fully retire it, haha. The other two up there are Rainbow Narwhals and Cute Eyes (original light pink version below, got the hot pink version above as a misprint afterwards).

The next ones I got that no longer exist were Rainbow Candy, Double Rainbow Candy, and Happy Bees:

tiny prehistoric pics because i can only find them in my old old etsy's sales history, haha As you can see, besides Creepy Eyes the vibes were incredibly different. I wanted to make clothing that could go alongside my ˜”*°•.★·.·´¯`·.·★𝓀𝒶𝓌𝒶𝒾𝒾 𝒶𝓂𝒾𝑔𝓊𝓇𝓊𝓂𝒾 𝓅𝓁𝓊𝓈𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓈★·.·´¯`·.·★.•°*”˜ even though my personal style and fashion interests were/are much more goth. That leaked through again with the Guro Guts skirt next.

The first ever Guro Guts skirt was made just in time for Halloween 2015 In 2016, plushies were still my main focus and for a number of health reasons I was essentially dead that whole year. I don't think I added any new skirts at all..

The next big addition to my skirts was in April 2017 with this set:

Demon Summoning and Vampire Night have survived until this day. Good Medicine on the top left was only made in this colorway for a short time before I switched to a purple & pink version that I also kawaii'd up. Vaporwave and Angel Summoning are both pretty much defunct as of 2021.

2017 Blue/Red Good Medicine, 2018(2019?) Purple/Pink Good Medicine. Both are discontinued

In late 2017, I separated out my clothing shop from my crochet shop and started going all-in on a more goth leaning aesthetic. Witch Vamp (originally "Witch Vampire") was truly born. A lot of designs from that time are ones you'll still recognize today

The only other one that's pretty much gone these days is Rainbow Galaxy. I used to have it in skaters and joggers, but it's another one that wasn't as popular online as it was at cons. They're also like A Lot especially for my generally goth-ish shop

Rainbow Galaxy Skater (designed in 2017), Rainbow Galaxy Joggers (2018 or 2019.. unsure, haha) I last ran preorders with Rainbow Galaxy in 2021, but I don't think I got many orders. I've just let them fizzle out since then. But the skirt semi-lives on in the glorious mistake that is the Bomb Pop Skater

Originally I had 3 of these because a few Rainbow Galaxy Skaters got printed without any yellow. But like, what a good mistake! Since then I've ordered them this way on purpose. EDIT: Another discontinued skirt was the Black Widow's Web. Idk even when I made it first. 2018? But it died in 2021.

Next casualties, between 2020-2022 I discontinued a few more joggers due to slow sales:

Astrology Joggers, Creepy Eyes Joggers, Dark Galaxy Joggers (actually the 2nd version. V1 was a bit too.... phallic with the goo drips lmao) So after that, I think the main casualties have been *item types* rather than designs. I've dropped a lot of things (lanyards, zipper bags, wallets, all-over-print tshirts, tights, pvc charm keychains, and soon enamel pins) because they were great for cons, but don't really sell online. Or because they became obsolete (skirts w/out pockets).

It's been a long journey! And if you go all the way back to my crocheting days, I've been at this whole "self-employed" thing since the day I turned 18 in 2008 and was able to open up an Etsy shop (had other jobs too back then tho, like I was a pharmacy tech for 2 1/2 years). Hope you all enjoy seeing these designs from the old days and learning more Witch Vamp lore!!!

hi sovo ;u; I hope it's okay if I ask you a shop question! So um, I'm lower on money than I've ever been and I'm too burnt out to do commissions for ppl due to personal stuff, but I feel like... if I made one charm or one sticker for a particularly huge fandom/movie that's out right now, and if I put it up as preorder and sold at least 20 keychains then I'd be able to pay my bills this month. but I've never sold physical merch before and I'm a little nervous to try it haha :'D

Would you recommend I try making an Etsy since it seems to have a large enough audience, or do you think I should try making my own website/shop? I'm definitely not ready to consistently sell things as a steady job yet, I thought I'd try literally just one single keychain or one sticker sheet (I already learned how to make those, thankfully) in order to pay my rent this month bc I've only got about a hundred dollars to my name sdflkfssdf;; and if it goes well then maybe I can try it again.

I'm also not quite sure how to price things? if I made a 3.5 inch acrylic charm with the little star shaped keychains like from Vograce, do people normally price those at $15 when they sell them? should I also account for shipping? I've also umm never shipped merch before and I'm so worried about somehow messing it up sldfjsf like I don't know what kind of envelopes I have to get or if I should even use my own address bc I'm so nervous about my personal info being out there, but I don't know if it's worth paying for a PO box if I'm so low on money already. if you have any tips on anything whatsoever, I would appreciate any feedback if you're not busy. no prob! here are my thoughts:

pros/cons of etsy:

apparently if you're new to selling on etsy, there's a probationary period where etsy withholds your profits for 3 months. i don't know anything about it personally since it started in 2020, but it seems that funds are only released when your shipped orders are scanned at the post office. i think i also remember hearing about other cases where payments aren't released at all for 3 months--and etsy customer service has a reputation of being difficult to get a hold of if you have a problem as a seller, so if etsy made a mistake with your shop, it may take even more months to resolve. since you have preorders in mind, i would hold off on etsy unless you can pay out of pocket.

etsy can drive traffic towards your listing for you (if you choose the right keywords--it's more difficult to be discovered just randomly if you don't).

they have high fees (for a $15 charm they'd take $1.88 in fees, which is 12.5%).

people may be cautious to buy from a shop that has no reviews yet, but many customers are protected by etsy's purchase protection and can be refunded at no cost to you if their order gets lost in the mail (provided that you ship with a tracking number and meet other criteria).

etsy will strongly recommend that you offer free shipping; ignore them. i don't think i've ever bought fanmerch with free shipping in my life, and their advice isn't geared towards sellers like us.

preorders don't work very well with etsy's system--iirc you're not supposed to do them (even though people still do, of course) but the main reason i remember is that the max processing time etsy lets you set per product (as in, the time between the customer purchasing the listing and you shipping it out) is 6 weeks. that means that the time you allow for customers to place their preorders, the time it takes for you to order and receive the merch, and the time it takes for you to ship out orders, all need to add up a max of 6 weeks, which was personally a difficult timeline for me to meet when making keychains. ofc, it's possible to extend the processing time, but going over the processing time may make it possible for customers to leave reviews/open cases early before you're even ready to ship out their orders, which could affect the reputation of your shop.

pros/cons of not etsy:

if you're not going with etsy, i've heard people recommend bigcartel, since it doesn't require a subscription like shopify or other places do. bigcartel's free plan is limited, but it should work for what you're looking for. another alternative might be ko-fi--i've heard that ko-fi shops aren't ideal for shipping out a large amount of orders, but since you're targeting just 20 i think it should be manageable.

ofc, you'll have to drive all your traffic yourself, so consider if you have enough of a following in your target fandom, or how you should go about getting your post noticed by your target fandom.

unlike etsy, shipping isn't auto-calculated, so i'd probably set a flat rate (in the US i'd expect $5). flat rates might make calculating your taxes just a little bit more complicated; in california at least, you have to pay taxes on the difference between the shipping you charge your customers and the shipping you actually pay to the post office, so iirc you either refund the extra shipping to the customer or hand it all over in taxes.

pricing:

yes, the standard price for ~3" acrylic keychains is $15, though i've also seen people go up to $16 or $17, especially on etsy where the fees are high.

shipping should be a separate cost, either auto-calculated for you (if you're on etsy/shopify) or a flat rate that you set based on shipping rates for your country, so in the end a customer might pay $15 + $5 = $20 in total.

unless most of your prospective customers are international, i'd recommend against shipping internationally to avoid dealing with customs forms, especially since you already have a lot of info to take in.

you can ship everything in a regular bubble mailer, though if you're just shipping stickers not keychains, a flat envelope should work fine. when shipping packages, you'll need to know the weight of each package, but you can just go by an estimate. a 3" acrylic keychain weighs about 1 oz (it weighs less than that, but they don't accept decimals) so i just multiply based on how many keychains are in an order. for usps at least, shipping is the same rate up until 10 oz iirc, so you don't need to weigh it super accurately. you could also always just go into the post office and have them weigh and label everything for you.

po box:

if regular PO box rates in your area are too high, you can also consider using a virtual po box; they go for about $10 per month at their most basic plans. if you're not expecting to get any mail redirected back to you, you should be able to just buy a month's subscription when you're ready to ship things out.

words of caution:

you probably already know this, but large fandoms can often be oversaturated by merch, so just choosing a large fandom might not be enough to guarantee a sale--you might have to stand out by, say, choosing a character who's in demand but doesn't have much fanmerch, having a funny meme concept, or having such a unique/attractive style that people can't help but want your fanmerch in particular. if you haven't already, i'd recommend looking around the market and seeing what's out there and decide why a buyer should choose your merch over anyone else's. though honestly, depending on your fandom, it could also not be this serious and not warrant much research--it all depends!

even if the preorder process works out and you get the funds to place the order, the manufacturer could always mess up on your order, which could lead to delays in your fulfillment and at worst, more expenses if you need to pay to get them remade. if it's easier to get sticker sheets made (like if you make them yourself/locally instead of ordering from overseas) they might be a safer choice of merch to make. ofc, i don't generally see sticker sheets up for preorder so you'd probably have to order them out of pocket and hope they sell, and you'll probably have to sell more of them than you would of keychains to get the same amount of profit. i don't know the whole situation, so i can't say anything definite about the risks/rewards between choosing to sell keychains and choosing to sell stickers.

Finally it's the not awaited time that i talk about hofnarr (hopefully thats how you write his dumb name)

He is just as obsessed as everyone else but he tries to hide it VERY hard (he is not doing a good job at that). He buys everything that the other nexus workers make about the player and his room is like 99% about the player and like 2 things about slaughter time (he needed to take a lot of things off of his room to make space for all his money spending on player "merch")

And what kills him once they meet? Well everything from the feeling of their bright eyes on him, their shorter stature (which they complained about since informing him of their expectancy of him being at least a little bit shorter than them. How wrong they were) their presence alone had him holding back from giggling like a highschool girl. But especially when they decided to lean on him and just stay there against him, tugging lightly on his lab coat. Usually like this:

AAA Hofnarr content, I love to see it haha. :D He's so sweet, and it's honestly really funny to have an accurate visual showing how much bigger he would be than the Player (cause he seems so meek in the game). One of the more lowkey yanderes by far, if only because he tries so hard to hide it. Some of the Nexus personnel who sell merch of you might just think he's a loyal customer of theirs and buys all their stuff just to support their business (he was nice like that).

However, in reality, the scientist harbored a bit of a crush on you; a deep-seated admiration that stemmed from how much he liked your kindness and general goodwill. You were so genuinely nice, especially compared to everyone else in Nevada, and you helped them so much that it'd be impossible not to like you (in his opinion, anyway). He's quite the fanboy, hence all the merchandise; he just wants something that reminds him of you to be everywhere around him, from the keychain he keeps in his pocket to the prints he has framed and put up in his living space.

Is it an obsession? Perhaps somewhat, he'll admit that much. But as far as he knows, this is just what love for you is like. He's utterly infatuated with you, and he views his more...excessive behaviors with you to be normal since he can't recall loving anyone as much. It made complete sense that an elevated level of affection would lead to an elevation in the level of gestures he goes through just to experience/have something related to you.

He's a bit very jealous that Christoff gets to actually feel your control, but he can deal with that. You do have your reasons, and he's also helping his friend out as well, so if anything that'd make you both allies (it's a loose connection, but it makes him feel happy all the same). This only makes it better when you meet in person, and you subsequently give him a heart attack by getting in his personal space and leaning on him (muttering a small complaint about how tall he is in the process; cute).

Just experiencing your relaxing warmth up close, and feeling the weight of your complete attention on him was enough to make a giddy smile spread across his face, and he fights the urge to reach up to try and cover the bright blush that paints his features. Then you get closer, and he's trying not to let his crush on you be too apparent, because oh my god, you're right there. The person he's been fawning over for the past few months is touching him, showing him the same sweet affection he's dreamed about getting from you. (He almost squeaks when he feels your arms come up to wrap around him in a hug, which you find adorable.)

It's what he's been waiting for all this time, but now it brings to mind a more pertinent question: now that he knows you actually like him, what are the chances you could return all of these feelings he has? And how does he increase that probability?

Went to a really nice gachapon/gashapon shop yesterday and got some neat stuff!

There weren't a whole lot of anime series there that I was interested in, but they had some SpyxFamily stuff so I gave two of them a go.

In hindsight I wish I had gotten more of the sitting figures because that Yor is so cute and her paint job is really good! (She can apparently hold really teeny things in her arms too.) The Anya is… she's okay. What's with the pose (lol)?

I ended up spending the most cash on these CCS figures, which was surprising to me since I hadn't expected to be so drawn in by CCS merch. I got Tomoyo first, then the Kero/Spinel figure, and did one last try to at least get one of the Sakuras (there were four different types in the set). Might have tried for a Syaoran too but I didn't want to push my luck and potentially get a duplicate, haha. Looking closer at them today, the quality isn't the best and the stands are really flimsy and made of awfully cut plastic pieces. However I got all of these for $4 each so I can't complain.

Sylvanian Families mini toys! I got two because I really wanted the one of the ones with the little house case (I got the car set first). These would make good doll props. I just wish I could fit everything in the house case but the car and grass piece are unfortunately too big to fit in AND keep the plastic case closed.

The sole Sailor Moon gashapon machine in the store had mostly the outer senshi, along with Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Chibi Moon, and a random Sailor Jupitor(???). I wanted Sailor Saturn but got Neptune, which is fine. This is a really nice-sized and nice looking figure for a gashapon machine--it's just a shame about the random paint smudges on her face D:

Inside the egg is a Transformers-esque My Little Pony toy. The novelty and the awkwardness of this toy is worth more than the $1 I spent on it. But why do I keep getting Twilight Sparkle from blind bags/boxes???

The shop also had claw machines filled with more toys and plushies (mostly pokemon stuff). I managed to get the Sylveon on my first try ($1), but I felt bad about leaving the Umbreon since it was the only plush left in the machine. Umbreon was. Significantly harder for me to grab but I managed it after five tries (plus some free tries from the shop owner who I guess felt bad for me and reset the plush two times). These are cute but they don't sit very well as their heads are so heavy compared to their bodies. Plus I think the Umbreon is missing the keychain attachment from its head (these are probably meant to be keychain plushies), but whatever.

The shop also sold Re-ment blind boxes and other fancier figures. I saw this and had to grab it:

A 50th Jump Anniversary Taikoubou (Houshin Engi) figure!!! I never expected to find a figure for such an old/obscure series in a random figure shop, so I immediately bought it.

I ended up spending around $85 in total (Taikoubou figure included). A little more than I expected to spend, but for what I got I think it was a good deal overall.

Ripley likes when eight holds their face? Or squish their cheeks . Or headpats. :^) they are embarassed about it though (cus what if she thinks its annoying etc. She doesnt but still) so they never told eight outright, she kind of discovers it on accident lol but hey she likes touching ripley's face so it all works out! It makes them feel pretty, a little bit.

When ripley has trouble sleeping (which is often so to be more accurate : when eight notices that ripley has trouble sleeping) eight will talk to them about whatever is on her mind, recite a few lines of whatever poem she's been thinking about, maybe even sing a little... though they feel guilty about keeping her awake. her voice really helps them relax.

Ripley kind of mumble songs Sometimes... one might call this singing even. But its not also lol. It makes eight really happy to hear them "singing" for no reasons but they are way too shy to do this if its not literally karaoke night 99% of the time. they only do it when they think they're alone or that eight is sleeping or smth. The song they hum is usally some daisy bell old songs type. Of songs ok the word song is there too many tile anyway

Ok one more thing. They can actually go wild on karaoke nights though since singing is The Point so might as well. But usually only if they duet w eight or a friend at least....theyd have trouble on their own(they sing as badly as possible on purpose...)

Ripley got their ear lobes pierced at the same time as eight lol. She was asking them what kind of earrings she should get once she gets them pierced and they were like idk i never had earrings before. "What ! But why?" "Idk,? Im not a big jewelry girl i guess. Also not allowed when doing agent work so" eight got a pair of gold sun earrings and got ripley a pair of silver stars("uh ripley, what is your favorite time?" "Like of the day? Night time, peace and quiet... why?" "No reason ! ^_^"

They both can be.. Chivalrous? yeah. toward the other in a way... so sometimes alex or other ppl have to witness their opening-the-door-for-the-other-first wars and shit like that. Which is Very funny to Me

When they carry groceries back home ripley always tries(and usually succeeds a little bit at least) to take the bags that eight carries

Ripley learnt/learns octarian for eight👍 every now and then ripley makes sure to compliment her in her own language etc.. also its practical to translate for her when she forgets a word, or its meaning.

They both have matching keychains somewhat... Eight has an orange inkling squid form keychain And Ripley a pink octo :)

Eight likes puzzles ! She thinks its fun to try and complete one with ripley every now and then.... but they dont always have the patience for them and sometimes try to brute force them, its okay though, eight thinks its funny lol. Plus it works sometimes so...

They have a plush of the other :^) eight made one of herself, ripley and alex after alex joked about how itd be funny if they were "marketable plushies"(the meme etc). They look very wonky but are greatly treasured.Ripley keeps theirs at home but eight actually takes plush ripley with her outside sometimes. Takes pictures etc and sends them to ripley LOL

ripley knew... one(1) magic trick (the coin one where you make the coin disappear but then you pull it out from behind the ear). Learnt it as a kid, was watching a show on the tv (the one at home was Very broken at that time...) of the local shop lol... then the owner saw them and they ran away. One day she does it on eight and shes like. "Woah !?" Cus she never saw a magic trick before LOL even a classic like that, and she tries to guess how it works etc. After a few guesses she understands how, and since then ripley tries to learn new tricks for eight to figure out... a small thing they have between the two of them

Ripley doesn't consider themself to be too good at writing stuff but they felt bad about not at least trying to write a poem for eight considering how many she wrote of/for them sooo they tried to write one.... Their handwriting is usually shit so and spent hours following a calligraphy tutorial LOL. Bought fancy paper etc... theeeen when it was time to read it to eight they lost All Confidence so they just gave her the poem for her to read. And she does ! she starts to get teary eyed in the middle of the poem and ripley's all like "oh shit is it that bad?? Im so sorry" but no... she loves it ! She now has the poem with her always... follded,in the inside of her phone cover

Ripley isn't too good at showing affection in public spaces beyond hand holding and like semi hugs cus theyre shy (but also its like. "Well id feel horrible if people thought badly of eight due to the fact that shes with an ugly lil thing like me... i dont know...") they dont mind if eight is the one kissing them they just have trouble being the one to do so... but sometimes they get brave and give the back of her hand a lil smooch prince kiss style LOL . Or a small kiss on the forehead :^)

Eight has a picture of ripley as her phone's lockscreen, and ripley has a picture of eight as their phone's home screen :^)

When ripley is in a very good mood they will lift eight off of her feet and spin around when they hug her ^_^ eight likes it it's funny... and cute.

When they hold hands, eight gives ripley's hand a lil squeeze every now and then :^). Ripley. like.. rubs the back of her hand with their thumb?

Eight bonks ripley on the head sometimes (affectionate). Like cats...

I'm sorry if someone has asked this already but I've been curious- since I've been thinking about making TOH merch myself one day. But is there a prerequisite to selling TOH fan made merchandises? Do I need to get perms with Dana or something haha.

quick and extremely informal copyright lesson (because i've had to learn abt this in my classes): technically, fan art IS a copyright violation because you don't own the original IP... HOWEVER, most of the time companies will allow it because it actually drives up interaction with their properties! sometimes they can be strict-- Nintendo is VERY stingy with fanart being sold, however many artists are able to sell them as long as listings are titled without directly saying "pokemon" in the name.

it is very complicated and artists are given a good amount of leeway-- you wouldn't see so many etsy listings and fanart in artist alleys if it wasn't like that. my best recommendation is to see how other people word their listings and research selling first to get an understanding of the market and everything!

Oh. February is over, huh. Sure was a short one! I feel like I didn't do too much to be honest. I saw The Squad™️which is always a highlight, but other than that? Finished a craft project (that I can't share) (it's a secret) which came out so adorable. I started doodling more and making art that isn't good nor bad but just is and that's been fun! Joined a discord server for other people trying to do more art where we do challenges each month and share our creations and I'm very excited about our first challenge. I don't know! I feel stagnant but also! I'm just vibing! I didn't read too much, but I'm not mad at that.

I didn't make a whole lot of food this month. Most of my baking is done with flour and I've been avoiding wheat products in hopes my stomach would feel better. But the other night I saw a recipe for coffee cake that looked so delicious I nearly got out of bed and made it right then, so. I risked it.

I've been going through GMM's videos since over the summer and whoooboy there sure are a lot of them huh! They're fun and silly and very good at Yes And-ing each other. They make for good background noise when doing something else.

No idea what I want out of March. I have a baby blanket I need to make, the art challenge, I've been noodling on making some acrylic keychains, but lets be real that's probably just wishful dreaming haha

For once I do have books planned to read! Shocking!! But that's what library holds will do to you! The Unspoken Name and The Once and Future Witches are up next in my library queue, and I'm halfway through A Memory Called Empire. I think that's enough for someone who doesn't plan their reads. Very impressive on my part.

hey gang!

so uh hi i have been very into onward since september(the 18th to be exact which is hysterical to me haha) and ive been on twitter loving the boys by myself and i saw that there is a community on here from the letter yall wrote to dan scanlon and uh yeah i decided to write a short little thing about onward to kind of introduce myself and maybe make some friends??

so first of all, i love both boys tons, but ian is my favorite.

my boyfriend is literally the real life version of barley and one of his nicknames for me is iandore. i actually met him through my love of onward and wanting to play dnd! i knew his mom and when i started talking about wanting to play dnd she gave me his number and here we are months later and we have cosplayed ian and barley at a local disney event!

i have navy blue hair like the boys and have had it since december last year, i think its super cool because when people compliment me on it i get to tell them why i chose this color! i sometimes wear silver elf ear cuffs and my willowdale hoodie and stuff ian would wear too just to “disneybound” at home for fun.

i have three sets of ian and barley plushies and one set of action figures! ive also sculpted a figure of ian too(its not great but it was fun!) i carry a guinevere bookbag with onward pins and a little license plate keychain that has ians name on it!

im a self taught artist and i love drawing the boys, im better at drawing ian, but i try with barley too haha. i have a sona or oc too! her name is ginny stonelight!

currently i have plans to go to disney world for not so scary on ian’s 18th birthday as him! im so excited for that--

ian has a special nickname that i have never used before i gave it to him and that’s sweetness! still trying to figure out one for barley that ive never used before...

You don't need to publish this! I just wanted to share ideas for merch that you could sell for this blog that I'd personally be interested in - first of all, I think... pins, stickers, keychains, prints and shirts would be the best sellers for this type of particular blog - if you were able to get an artist to draw out original yanderes for each main merch type? Or the most popular, well known male yanderes (IF that's legal)...! I just don't know the laws regarding selling original artwork of already existing characters, haha, sorry!

Perhaps you could get started with just a few, at first, to test the waters! Even if my advice isn't the best or uhhh........ y'know, At All useful lolololol - I hope it goes well <:!!!!

Whoa, those are some good ideas. I've been trying to do research on what I should do (I'm watching so many youtube videos on it), but here are my thoughts on it.

I was thinking about something like Pins, stickers, and maybe charms (I always wanted to make charms) before I move on to other things like prints and shirts. This is just because I don't wanna make too many things and have them not sell because that would suck with me having like 50ish unsold items or something. Maybe I'll start out with like 25, I'm not sure yet.

As for the art, I actually was going to draw it myself (since I am also an artist, but uh I guess you have to gauge yourself how good I am at it, haha) but the idea of collaborating with others yandere artists is pretty good. I'm not sure how I'd go about designing an OC for each one (when it comes to OCs I uh, draw very basically in terms of character designs, since I like practical outfits more generally). I was just going to fall back on my mascot Beta for that one but unfortunately, I'm not the best at drawing like a... sexy style? (Like I can draw in a more anime style, but I've been defaulting to more of my cartoony/ cute style... I guess) .

Popular yanderes would be cool! I think generally for artists you can technically sell anything as long as it's in your art style, but obviously, there can also be copyright laws in place for some things. I think the general rule of thumb is that you don't steal or interfere with money from the source (like for instance you can draw things from TV or games because they get their revenue from merchandise and selling games but probably not like someone else's OC unless they're okay with it)

What I'm thinking now is to just make a couple of sticker designs and maybe pins with my OC on them and maybe not make too many copies of it. Just to test the waters. I don't really know what to do in terms of what the design should look like yet (okay, well I do have some ideas, I just don't know how good they are).

Anyways, that will probably be after my vacation, so I will do my best!

marie seldom cries (she thinks herself above it, that it’s unnecessary baggage to what she does) but I think if she were to cry…. it’d be messy and long overdue. I think she’d shut down entirely, I think she’d stop talking, I think she’d put her head in crossed arms and not look up, as if being seen like this is something so shameful.

she would never cry in front of anyone, that’s giving someone leverage over her, so it’s something she’d do alone and in shame. it’d knock the breath out of her and she would unravel in her room and pick up the pieces all alone, to walk onto city streets with no one the wiser. or something. I neeeeever think about this, noooo haha of course not.

what’s their comfort meal?:

hmm I don’t know about meals, but I think she likes sour things. i also like to think she’s a big fan of pingua’s cooking, and he can make most things under the sun, melissa’s too. sometimes she finds herself thinking about it, and like her whole crying deal, she puts a pin in that — there’s more important things than this.

how do they react when they’re caught in a lie?:

“hey, I’m telling the truth! kind of. …. give me a sec.” I feel like michiru tries really hard to avoid lying (especially to people she looks up to, the mayor, shirou), but you know how she is. city’s wild. she comes clean quick and offers ways to fix this, which are usually brash and outrageous at first. but it’s something she tries not to do, as she didn’t like when shirou and nazuna lied to her, so she does her best not to be a hypocrite. but…. sometimes…

what’s an item they always carry with them?:

she wears that jacket everywhere I’m telling you…. apart from that, she ALWAYS has earphones on her, ALWAYS. additionally has some keys (one to the co-op, one to marie’s apartment, which she was given with some reluctance). also probably has a little anima city gift store-adjacent keychain to go with.

I just had an amazing day for the first time in a long time. I went to a con in my area (it’s my first time ever going to one) dressed as Nick Valentine in a cosplay I had taken forever to put together and I was so scared of being judged or just not being recognized bc i didn’t really think there’d be a whole lot of other fallout players there BUT THEN!! I got recognized like 8 times!!! The person running first booth I went to saw me and instantly went “OMG ITS NICK VALENTINE” and they had art of him on sale and I got a cool ass keychain of Nick and then we went to a panel about Ghostbusters (which I know nothing about but I enjoyed the panel a ton) and like. I never realized that panels felt so safe??? I assumed I’d be uncomfortable as all hell in a room with a bunch if people listening to some dudes talk but it was actually super fun and a very chill environment I highly recommend it. And then we were wandering around the booths some more looking for Interesting Things and this dude in a vault suit walked up to me and went “HEYYY VALENTINE GOOD TO SEE YA” and I had a mini heart attack that someone was talking to me and so I was. not good at responding in character I was just like “haha. hi. thank you. yeah.” and then he dug around in his pocket and pulled out a nuka cola cap and just. gave it to me. and kept walking. And he had a bunch of them too like did he specifically have them to give to other fallout cosplayers he met or did he just see me and go “ah, an anxious-looking person dressed as a character I like, time to go make their day” I mean either way it was cool as fuck and made a super good day even better but like. Holy shit. I was not aware that it was that welcoming of an environment? The people were so cool why did nobody inform me of this earlier??? i think i might’ve found a new thing that I’m passionate about and that’s like a huge thing for me because I haven’t been truly interested in something in ages!! like. dude. wtf /pos

I need a side job for an online shop but I can't afford a printer to make stickers or art posters what are your suggestions of other craft things I could learn?

I thought about pins but I'm not sure how they're made.

this ask actually came at a funny time cause i am closing my etsy shop until further notice cause im not really interested in selling rn haha, but!!! i do have some ideas for you!!

clay pins! these can be really fun to make and i think theyre still popular! theres a lot of tutorials on youtube on how to make them, but youre gonna need white clay and paint (or colored polymer clay if you dont want to paint them), pin backings (you can get these at any craft store) and something to seal them (you can use mod podge or polymer clay glaze for this!) theres a lot of fun designs you can make for these and theyre cheaper than making enamel pins

painted wood things! if you are artistic and can paint stuff, get some mini wood circles/hearts and paint a design, then superglue on a pin backing, then boom its a pin! this is an alternative to clay pins if you dont want to deal with clay haha. i can find small wood pieces at any craft store for cheap and i have too many of them lying around lol

go to any store that does printing and print stuff if you dont have a printer! for awhile before i got my printer i would order printed stuff from staples for cheap. id look into this if you have a lot of ideas for art prints or zines, theres a lot of options!!

if you have some cash to spare, look into stickerapp!! they print die-cut stickers and sticker sheets, and they havent failed me yet, all their stuff turns out good and they have options for different quantities of stickers.

you may want to look into digital products if youre tech savvy! on etsy you can make good passive income from digital items like downloadable prints, digital stickers, desktop icons, templates, etc. this is kinda a hard market to get into cause theres a lot of competition, but theres a lot of different things you can do with digital products.

going back to clay cause its the most affordable thing i feel, you can make trinket dishes, charms for jewelry, keychains, figurines, etc. people always seem to be interested in little things like that, and i feel like clay, especially polymer clay can be a fun rabbit hole to dive down with all the different tutorials and things you can do with it out there :) air dry clay stuff is great too!

resin can be touchy for some people cause it can be messy and toxic if you dont have good ventilation, but i used to make shaker charms with molds i got for like 2 bucks off etsy as well as jewelry! check out some tutorials for this one if you'd like to get into this world, it can be fun!

if you want to get into button pin making, id check out badge-a-minit! they were my first intro to pin making, and you can get a starter kit for like $30 i think?? the price may have changed but thats what i paid for like 3 years ago lol

do you know how to crochet?? crochet plushies and even digital patterns are still super popular!! its fun and relaxing too if you want to get into it

overall these are the first things that popped into my head when it comes to crafty things to sell, i hope it was somewhat helpful ;_; if you'd like to really dive into the world of products and marketing for artists, i highly recommend checking out kelsey rodriguez on youtube!! she has lots of good advice for artists and just recently came out with a video specifically for products that artists can sell!
