No p*dophilia: This rule does not rule out fandoms that feature teenagers such as Harry Potter, Heartstoppers, Hunger Games, etc. It also doesn't mean you can't write about their time together as teenagers! It was mostly aimed at ships in which one is a minor and the other is not - but since even that got complicated over time, the rule is now this: if you keep it SFW, all is good and allowed, we don't care; if it turns NSFW, be mindful of the legalaties of the world/society/times your characters live in.

Dropping questions about BSD x SAGAU :))) You said that the BSD cast would bring those who assisted Reader to their world and get revenge for Reader. Yet what if they miss Teyvat, or love their people? Nahida thrives to be a worthy Archon for Sumeru, Furina sacrificed 500 years to protect Fontaine and the Spina di Rosula's goal is to assist those in need, the Adepti are loyal to Rex Lapis, etc. How will they react to the punishment? Will they do anything to convince the BSD cast to spare Teyvat?

Before answering your question, I need to clarify something about Punishment Plan.

It can be put in three phases.

Phase I - Taking a look, do some (mild) damage.

Character didn't do anything drastic (almost), they simply look for more information.

Currently, there are:

* Lovecraft (sinking ships, made Dottore mad)

* Jouno (stealing books from Creator's churches, after learning, that Kaeya gouged out Reader's eye, snapped. Killed everyone in Creator's Cathedral of Mondstadt, blinded and muted Kaeya. After that, he is lying low, stealing books from Creator's Cathedral of Liyue)

* Tetchou, Verlaine, Tachihara, and Tanizaki (attacking trade caravans. Not killing anyone, but they do take away everything.) 

* Fitzgerald and Atsushi (scamming Ningguang and Pantalone into loosing money. And Atsushi in tiger form are Fitzgerald's mount)

* Mark and Steinbeck (Rob Northland Bank)

* Dazai and Ango (scamming people)

* Fyodor and Sigma (established a casino)

All goods and mora (except from the ships) are currently being kept in real world on the attic.

And, Capitano is still captured in a basement.

Phase II - To the rescue

BSD Cast saving everyone, who helped Reader.

Phase III - It's Showtime.

BSD Cast release all their powers on Teyvat.

So, Teyvat Helpers will be saved, before situation get too serious and out of control.

And to the question.

Teyvat helpers have the right to be included in a discussion about Teyvat's future. And they have a right to vote.

Teyvat Helpers, on one hand, understand BSD Cast's pain and anger. What happened to Reader were terrible and cruel. They understand, why BSD Cast want blood.

But, Teyvat still remains Helpers' home. Their people live here. And not everyone wanted to hurt Reader. Someone were too afraid of going against Fake Creator's orders.

So, the heated discussion took place.

Helpers are trying to minimize the damage.

BSD Cast are trying to "get permission" to punish as many people, as they can.

Some punishments are set in stone.

Mori insists on fighting Zhongli.

Fyodor insists on punishing Neuvillette.

Goncharov wants to do some damage to Tsaritsa.

Everyone wants to kill Fake Creator. (This one isn't up to debate, they will do it).

Reader will be the one, who will have the final word.  

If they said, that they forgive/don't care about Teyvat, BSD Cast will listen.

If they said, that they want some kind of revenge (without killing and mutilating), BSD Cast will listen.

If they said, that they want destruction... You get the point.

Helpers will talk to Reader, trying to explain their point and why BSD Cast should go easy on Teyvat. 

They have good chances to succeed.

Hi! Welcome to AO3:)

since I'm not sure how much you know already, the background (background as interpreted by me: I am not speaking on behalf of the OTW) is: Ao3 is run by the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW), the nonprofit that also runs Fanlore and publishes Transformative Works & Cultures. Anyone who has donated $10 to the OTW in the last year, and chooses "yes I want to be a member" at checkout is an OTW member. (This is not the same as having an ao3 account.) Every year, there is an election to fill either 2 or 3 seats on the Board of Directors. OTW Members (i.e. people who donated between 7/1/21 and 6/30/22, in this case) get to vote on this.

Most of the time, this election is only really followed by people on fail_fandomanon. Sometimes, it isn't.

Things the Board of Directors does: writes posts to send out to the general public when Things Are Happening (the recent csam attacks, the requests for more antiracism measures.) Writes posts to send to volunteers when Things Are Happening (see prev.) Keeps track of what all the committees are doing and how it ties in with whatever the strategic plan says they should be doing. Deals with the IRS/US laws. Approves large funding requests. Deals with emails that someone else has deemed outside their own wheelhouse. Herds cats. Proposes priorities. Points at something shiny, pats the org on the flank, and says "walk that way, walk that way!! Come on buddy, you can do it!!". etc etc etc.

Things the Board of Directors doesn't do: unilaterally determine ao3 content policy. Let us use the word "porn" on ao3 drive merch. Make decisions that are going greatly affect other volunteers' work without input and some level of agreement from said volunteers.

Anyway. This year, one of the five candidates for the three open board seats is Tiffany G. (More information about all the candidates and their platforms is at https://elections.transformativeworks.org)

Tiffany is a tag wrangler from an unspecified country that is, from context, assumed to be China. The candidate Q&A can be read here. Her answers were a little bit confusing, but she said she wanted to update the ToS policies on 'pedophilic and illegal content' because, quote, "people think we host child porn content and such things... It might... be helpful to clarify that to the public." Further down she said:

a) I support 100% “maximum inclusiveness of content”, yet there is always a boundary to everything. Since OTW is already an influential org, we need to protect our image and hold a better image to the public. I want the public to think of us as an inclusive and socially responsible community. So in general, we have to do something to change. Things like making the rating system more specific and obvious to users will be what I want to do. b) Not really restricting the content being posted. I hope it is like more warnings and ratings for posting work so people know what to expect. And all of these are not surprising to people who do not wish to see this.

I took this to mean "she wants to clarify to outsiders that ao3 does not host csam, is not only for erotica, and update the ratings and warnings system." I don't think that those things are necessary or should be a focus of the org, which is part of why I didn't vote for her.

Other people took it to mean "Tiffany is against pornographic or underage works and wants them to be banned." Some people took this, combined with her nationality, to the conclusion of "Tiffany is a secret plant of the Chinese Communist Party who wants to join the board, get all the ao3 user data, and then have the users from mainland China arrested" (despite the fact that this is not information the board would have access to, if for no other reason than ao3 is blocked in China so anyone trying to view the site from mainland china has to use a VPN anyway.) Some people are upset that the OTW elections committee "allowed" her to run in the first place, because they think that not letting anyone with opinions the current board or elections committee didn't like is an absolutely great precedent to set.

There are a bunch of comments on tw.org, and some in fail_fandomanon, that give more context to her comments in terms of Chinese fandom (though most posters still disagree with her position.)

This got... longer than planned. But to the question "Is tiffany getting elected actually bad" - If my interpretation of her statements are correct, I think it would be annoying, because she does not have the experience I think that being on the Board requires, and focuses on priorities I disagree with. Which isn't to say she'd never have a valuable perspective or ideas about something, but there are four other candidates that I think are much better suited to it at this point in time. If the people who think she is an antishipper bent on censorship are correct, she could probably make life very annoying for the rest of the board-- but considering the rest of them are not pro-censorship, I can't see how she'd have much influence in that direction in the org as a whole.

If the people who think she's doing espionage on behalf of the CCP are correct, then... look, I can't even finish that sentence because I find the idea of the CCP deciding that a) they need to get ao3 user data and b) the way to do that is to run a clearly unqualified candidate in a public board election absurd.

the tl;dr of this tl;dr is that there's a lot of fearmongering going around, and a lot of accusations and hate (and racism. let’s be real a lot of this is racism) directed her way. I don't know her, so I don't know what her "real" opinions are, but regardless of who wins the board election, ao3 is not going to be censored any time soon.

if for no other reason than if the Abuse team was told on top of all their other work, they now had to assess and remove fics reported for being "problematic", they would say "we'd prefer not to" and then proceed to not do it.

It's awesome that people are realizing the board elections and OTW membership are a thing now, though. We kept talking about how to encourage membership, and "running a very dramatic and wanky election" did not occur to us. In retrospect, I don't know why.

the shadow realm is where any contestant decreed not hot enough by the voters is sent to. It is a kingdom of wraiths and shades, broken men and lost dreams. It currently has every hot man who is not Toshiro Mifune in it. (wait. where’s buster keaton.) The court of the realm is peopled by sad unfortunate not-hot losers; by popular vote Fredric March was made King of the Shadow Realm, with Anthony Perkins as consort. They live in the dark where the sun never shines, eating too much guacamole and dreaming of the day when one day, maybe, someone will call them hot again.

If that didn’t help clarify, sometimes when a round ends I hold a shadow bracket for people who were kicked out. It runs under a normal tournament and doesn’t follow the same rules. Relevant tags below 👇

(When) Did Dracula Drink Jonathan?

I'm curious to see what the most common take on this one is. I've seen several more options (as well as new reasoning brought up for said options) this year than last. So, I've been collecting them as we go through the castle stay, and figured we could all vote on it! If you think he drank Jonathan's blood more than once, please just pick the earliest date you think he started to do so!

Lastly... since they won't fit on the poll itself, here are brief statements of the reasoning I've seen for each given choice, as well as clarifying the dates for anyone who doesn't remember them off the top of their head. These aren't necessarily all my opinions, just paraphrasing what I've seen:

Dracula's Guest - if you consider the scrapped prolonged chapter canon and believe Dracula drank Jonathan then, choose this.

May 3 - Dracula drank Jonathan's blood before he ever arrived at the castle. Jonathan's 'queer dreams' on May 3 were a sign of being sipped in his sleep.

May 5-15 - After arriving at the castle but before Jonathan encountered the vampire ladies, probably in Jonathan's sleep on other days. If he already drank Jonathan's blood they might have a bit of a psychic link, which could explain how Jonathan sensed him entering the room even with his eyes shut. It also could be related to the reason Jonathan felt unsafe in his room/put the crucifix above his bed.

May 16 - When Dracula brought Jonathan back to his room and 'undressed' him after saving him from the vampire ladies, he also bit him to establish his claim even more/in an act of possession.

May 17-June 28 - if you think Dracula drank Jonathan's blood somewhere in the middle of his stay but you aren't sure when, pick this option. Jonathan expresses uncertainty about his soul being saved on June 27, perhaps referencing being drunk from already. This overlaps a bit with the answer below; if you feel more certain about that narrower timeframe pick that option.

May 29-June 16 - the nineteen-day-long gap in entries is directly related to Dracula drinking Jonathan's blood; either due to the relevant entry being removed later or him never writing it down.

June 29 - Dracula gave his "to-night is mine" speech, then Jonathan's entry ends with him praying on his knees. The next day when he finds Dracula in his coffin, the Count has fresh blood on his mouth. Jonathan is exhibiting signs of seeming blood loss. Being freshly drunk from could also help explain Jonathan possibly reading Dracula's mind about his plans for England.
