Set sail for Freedom Island, baby.
Thomas, there's a mouse in the house. But don't worry, Thomas, this isn't a problem, as this isn't just any mouse. This little pal is more than welcome in our house, as it happens. That is because this here is Mickey Mouse, and our smiley rodent friend is here to stay.

Furbies!
Small, round, prone to making funny sounds.
They are that most perfect blend of ridiculousness and something a bit mysterious. Originally released in 1998 by Tiger Electronics, the #furby has gone on to become one of the iconic toys. What they are exactly remains a little unclear (Hamsteresque? Owllike? Some sort of marsupial pixie gremlin? Dear Reader, we know not), but what they are for sure is extremely popular—and quite rightly so, because they are super cute. If not a touch unsettling. They also make for a great introduction to parenthood, as they enjoy hugs, shaking, pats on the head, shaking, eating its pretend pizza charm, and having their hair combed. Why, they are just like us.
For all of these reasons, and so much more, Furbies are dizzyingly popular on Tumblr, with a huge fandom community, and shitposts ranging from the nightmarish, adorable, and Biblical in theme, scope, and subject matter. Dive in and see for yourself, and hey, who knows—you too may find yourself shaking, your head being patted, or crying out incoherent gibberish.
