Relationship status: single (though I feel like a single parent of my dog because she’s needy and thinks she’s a real child. It’s beyond me how she used to be a working dog lmao)

yesssss. You know how I told you one of the WIPs was literally just a line? Congrats, this is the one.

There is a bird outside Harry’s window.

Context: One summer - before either 5th year or 6th - Voldemort tracks Harry down in Privet Drive and realizes that Lily's blood magic prevents him from attacking Harry. He wonders if this restriction would also account for Animagus forms (which, given Sirius' breakout and Wormtail's everything, is always a reasonable question to ask) and attempts to approach in his Animagus form.

The answer is: he can get past the blood wards, but he can't really transform back.

So, opportunistic little bastard that he is, he decides to conduct some reconnaissance. As time goes by, and Harry starts talking to the pretty little bird that's taken to perching outside his window, Voldemort realizes that he might have miscalculated.

Harry Potter is everything, and nothing, like he expected.

(also, fun fact: did you know Magpies are in the Corvidae family :3c)

Labyrinth is fighting me 😭 endings are hard and I started second-guessing how I wanted it to go, so I set it aside for a while. Here's a bit from the final chapter

“Wait—” Harry tried to catch him, but the crowd overwhelmed him, and he was lost, turning again and again, breathless and confused. And then Voldemort was there.  Harry’s hands found easy purchase on a corseted waist. Voldemort was so narrow, lending the impression that Harry held a delicate thing, a hollow-boned bird or a bundle of wildflowers, rather than his evil, all-powerful nemesis. He expected Voldemort to say something, but only music passed between them; music and shared motion as they joined the dancing crowd.  The mantle about Voldemort’s shoulders was a costume network of delicate webs, veins, synapses. They pulsed and glittered, but the diamonds embedded into black strands were far less interesting than the empire of Voldemort’s face, capitalized by two watchful blood-red eyes.  Harry was the observed fawn, spotted from a distance in the woods and expected to dash away on the first pang of fear. Not today, he resolved. Not now.

Bob wrapped an arm around her shoulder as he pulled her closer. Only when she was wrapped in his arms, Thea finally broke down. He patiently waited while she cried, trying his best to hold her together. 

His work required him to be dangerous. But Bob didn’t consider himself a violent person. But as his little sister cried her eyes out in his arms, as her whole body shook with sobs, he wanted to put Rooster’s face into the ground. Rooster had promised to take care of her. Promised to not break her heart. But he had failed and for that, Bob would never forgive him.

Current obsession: do I need to even say it lmao I’m absolutely obsessed with the Grey’s AU and I’m drawing like crazy. It’s been fun

Last book: all three of Älä koskaan pyyhi kyyneleitä paljain käsin (Don’t ever wipe tears without gloves) by Jonas Gardell. I read this trilogy every once in a while and it manages to break me apart into tiny little pieces and cause severe dehydration every single fucking time. It’s one of the most important pieces of LGBTQIA+ literature of our history and I wished it was more known globally

Looking forward to: I’m travelling to Scotland with my class in April (if the stars align and I don’t find another way to end up in the hospital again) I just wanna go there and photograph so much that my camera’s shutter won’t take it anymore. It’s super interesting to go to the local College and study there for a week or two. Officially can’t wait 🤞🏻
